<•WELCOM TO A PARTY TO MURDER!•>
The year is of fall, 1936. A country estate in Connecticut, right outside of New York.
Francine Bentley is throwing a lavish birthday celebration for her dear friend Abigail Pennyworth, AKA Penny. Kay Chandler is Francine’s personal assistant for this party and is sort of the main character.
It first takes place in the morning around 10:00 am. Everyone is gathering at the Seven Chimneys Estates which was inherited by Francine Bentley.
The play takes place ONLY in the living room and all of the characters are in black in white costumes aside from accessories like nails, a clutch, a hat etc. which are in full color.
There are twists and turns; expected and unexpected; and its very UNCLEAR who the killer is until the end.
“We are a non-profit based in San Antonio, Tx with a passion for youth of all backgrounds and needs providing an opportunity for them to embrace their limitless abilities, develop their confidence, and express their inner artist. We’re committed to working together to deliver high quality, innovative theatre instruction, production and expression.”
If you have any questions or theory’s about the play go ahead and ask!! But be warned: it might not be spoiler free!
<<ALSO!! The person running this blog is one of the actors of this play!! I am a minor so yeah, respect please!!>>
<<Updates for the play will be on mostly Mondays and Wednesdays I will try to be consistent but I’m very busy with irl things!! Please don’t be mean im trying 😭>>

i was looking up the comic pages of the titans tower attack where jason rips off his shirt to reveal the robin costime underneath, and i didnt manage to read it in full but something i found interesting is that tim says, "you're the red hood. you've been cleaning up gotham the easy way."
i dont have the full context for it, but i love that at least standing alone, there's an implication there that tim thinks killing criminals is effective, and he just doesnt find it challenging enough haha. like, there's a lot of other moral judgements you can make about jason's choice to murder, but instead of any of that, tim just decides to point out it's the easy way. 😂
(okay maybe tim said it in an effort to goad by saying jason's taking the easy way out, but i think it's funnier if tim said it 'cuz he doesnt actually disagree with killing and just doesnt do it cuz he follows the bat lol.)
#rei rambles#tim drake#jason: you think it's EASY??#tim: obviously! show me your systemic reformation plans first and then we'll talk#jason: well ACTUALLY#and then jay pulls out his phone to show tim a hundred page pdf on his plans to revamp the businesses and areas surroundibg the east end#starting with clearing out the mob fronts and turning them into local business and sanctuaries and non-profits#and a budget for a new road that provides opportunity to revamp and reopen the abandobed warehouse all in an effort to create more jobs.#tim: this IS the hard way but... i think we can do it.#and then they shake hands and become business partners.#< this is my titans tower au#btw i was looking up the pages cuz i want to draw a dumb comic that makes fun of him lol.#jason's made some really cringe decisions huh. love him. you gotta be able to laugh at your blorbos 🥲#anyways the vibes im trying to explain in this post are basically#jason: ive been killing criminals so theyll never hurt anyone again!#tim (an intellectual): so youre cleaning up gotham the EASY way huh#lmao and then#jason (a theatre kid): *dramatically rips off his shirt to reveal the robin costume* WHAT DID U SAY REPLACEMENT???

I do hope New York Theatre Workshop will come out in favor of a ceasefire soon or something or the staff is vocally pro-palestine because the organization can't openly be so due to board members, because if not their choice to produce a show on Gaza feels incredibly hollow to me
#also this is non-profit theatre. donate that money to Gazan families#Caryl Churchill had the right idea when she said 'you can perform my play about palestine for free as long as you collect donations'

"Welcome to the Theatre": Diary of a Broadway Baby
Manhattan Theatre Club: Open House
February 12, 2024 | MTC | Evening | Open House | Event | 1H 30M
Got invited to a fun open house night for MTC, one of Broadway/off-Broadway's non-profit theatre companies. It's a nice feeling to know I'm a semi-insider and I don't have to be an influencer to do it. It was me and a whole bunch of MTC season subscribers (all older and enthusiastic about the theatre, as you'd expect. They had two sessions, one more of a demo youth education module that I wasn't fond of, and one about the casting process, which was fascinating. Would love to attend a future event with more focus on production.
Verdict: A Lovely Night

do you think they'll ever go for another HP spinoff? Both Cursed Child and Fantastic Beasts received poor or mixed reviews at best and were not that popular (I don't think anyone has ever referenced them IRL in my experience) so I doubt they'll be trying another spinoff anytime soon. Perhaps after the HP show is over in a decade? I really hope not lol, I found both CC and FB incredibly uninteresting and basic (Ezra Miller and Johnny Depp really turned me off too lol) and I figure any other spin off would be just as disappointing.
I also think the terminally online fans going "No one wants this! we want a spinoff about the founders or marauders!" are so incredibly out of touch. the HP show everyone will watch, however no one would care about either of those except super duper HP fans. If I said "marauders" IRL I highly doubt anyone would even know what I'm referencing. Also why on earth would they take a gamble on a new show after CC and FB flopped? and these terminally online JKR haters complaining about the show and screaming for a Jegulus spinoff instead also hated and complained about CC and FB for the most part? it's such a bizarre reaction that is based exclusively in 'I hate jkr and want to complain' instead of any actual desires on their part IMO
Will there ever be another HP spinoff?
Short answer: probably not.
Long answer: they can only greenlight a project with JKR's approval, so it really all depends on her. She's clearly not interested in writing more original Potter books right now, but she's ok letting others play with the IP in various media and/or commercial forms (except novels; duh, she's not stupid), so long as her specific wishes on some topics are met. So far, pretty successfully:
Theatre : Cursed Child, while hated by a vocal minority of (essentially book) fans, is a commercial and critical hit, winning several awards and touring in multiple countries while playing non-stop on the West End.
Video Games : Obviously a quite successful format, from the popular smartphone mini-games to Hogwarts Legacy. Nobody cared that much about HL's story, its success came down to the fun of actually getting to explore Hogwarts, Hogsmeade, etc.
Park theme(s) : Very successful and not to be underestimated creativity-wise, between decors, costumes, ancilliary products, etc. Again, the appeal is immersion and exploration rather than rides.
Supplementary non-fiction material : The "Hogwarts Library" supplementary books deepening the universe's lore have always been hits, hence WB using them as a base to develop FB.
Fantastic Beasts movie series (and the whole "wizarding world" brand) : The big disappointment. It didn't start so bad, the first was a success and well received. The second was too complicated and lost the GP, but still made money; and the third was better received but not well enough to save it. Still, even Secrets was more of a flop than a bomb (it made back its Covid-inflated budget twice after all, not enough to make a profit but better than nothing).
At some point, if i'm a WB exec and i'm a little smart, i start to notice patterns:
Normie fans and GA don't want new "wizarding world" stories: they want an immersive experience. Movies are a bad format for that. You just can't cram too much stuff in a movie without shit becoming real expensive real fast.
Book fans hate everything new in general, even with Jo's involvement it's getting touchy after FB and CC. (I'm sure an original novel would work but even that's risky and she's not interested anyways.)
On the other hand, book fans also famously disliked the movies, so a new, more faithful adaptation might interest them. Normie fans and GA too: they already know the story, so it's accessible, and parents would love sharing it with their kids.
Sales show that people in general are definitely still massively attached to Harry Potter, so it's worth investing.
TV adaptations of books following disappointing movies have been pretty successful recently: BBC/HBO's HDM, Netflix's Series of Unfortunate Events, etc.
TV's not a bad format for immersive story-telling. Not the best, but you have more screen time and it's usually cheaper to produce than films and more character driven, meaning more opportunities to add details and play with them. Enough "new" elements to stand apart from the movies and excite fans, but no risk of messing with canon.
For WB, a remake is a great middle ground to work with JKR in spite of her controversies: she's involved, but not too involved, because the story isn't a new one. It's not like she's writing an original script for them, she's just consulting to make sure they're not messing up. And for Jo? Also greatly convenient! She gets to make money with minimal work. She's a very busy woman you see, and she's got expenses (those rape crisis centers aren't paying for themselves).
Conclusion : Spin-offs = bad, expensive ideas almost bound to fail, unless they were adaptations of a new, critically acclaimed original novel by JKR, which will not happen any time soon. Remake = safer, actually something people want to see (or could be persuaded to watch if initially unconvinced, for the hardcore movie fans). Movies are (kinda) out, shows are (still) in. Carpe Diem, etc.
Will there specifically ever be a Marauders spinoff?
With the disclaimer that i'm not JKR so i can't actually know that but: no. Never. Not even a remote possibility, won't ever happen in a thousand years.
#replies#chamomiledaze#jkr#hp#if there ever was an interest from Jo to write about the Marauders the insufferable fandom will have surely shot that down by now#but she never seemed interested in the first place so#and besides it's BORING#nobody wants to see a different less sympathetic bunch of teenagers fight Voldemort again just 20 years before AND not beat him lmao#like seriously get some business perspective @marauders fans

How do I find a femme in the wild (without a dating app)?
The first thing is to attend events that lean heavily LGBT etc. They don't have to be ONLY gay events like Pride or PFLAG meet ups but places where lesbians have a presence. It might sound stereotypical but animal rescue or welfare non profits and their fundraisers are often lesbian heavy. Non profits that service the elderly, kids charities or social service organizations can lean to the lesbian side as well. Women in general, and for some reason lesbians, are involved in social services in high rates.
Check Meet up or Facebook for Lesbian events or social gatherings.
Women's festivals or small concerts in local venues that feature women or lesbian singers will have a bit turn out of lesbians in most cities. If you have a small theatre in your town make a suggestion for a lesbian singer. Many of the smaller venues will reach out and book lesser known artists that are requested if the artist is available. Sometimes they just don't know about women's music.
Listen to your instinct and check your hunch.
If you feel that a woman is a femme look for a labrys, rainbow, double Venus or other symbol that femmes will often employ to confirm your reaction. It can be clothing, jewelry or tattoos. They can be quite creative in what signals they use to make themselves known.
Use eye contact and a smile. That can be a sure indicator if they hold you eyes and smile or even nob back. At the worst you are wrong. Most women, even if straight, are flattered to be seen as attractive so if you show interest and they say "no" be gracious and move on. Women appreciate that kindness.
The Femmes are out there looking. Don't be afraid to take a chance and say hi, especially at an event who demographic is mostly women.

Saw your comment on a post about Sound of Freedom and I came here to say.....shame on you. Shame. On. You. Since when is child trafficking a political issue? Since when is calling pedophilia bad a political issue? If you have a problem with this movie then maybe YOU'RE the problem. No better than the big Disney fat cats who tried to suppress this movie and keep it shelved. Or theaters messing with the ac and saying seats are sold out when they're empty. Shame on you! God's children are not for sale!
I wish people would do a little more research on this topic. If Hollywood and the "powers that be" didn't want this movie being seen, it wouldn't have been released in over 3000 theatres countrywide. It's being shown in major and minor locations all across America and Canada, and the vast majority of those locations aren't having any problems.
Case and point, my own mother and her friend went to see it last week and everything was fine. No issues whatsoever and the seats were packed. The movie isn't being "suppressed". This is all a marketing gimmick from the production company Angel Studios, a Christian streaming service. The movie is jam-packed with lies and only serves to glorify Tim Ballard, the man the movie is based on, and Christianity as a whole. I truly wish this wasn't political, but it is. They made it political.
Tim Ballard has provably exaggerated or fabricated many, if not most of his "rescues", and his organisation, Operation Underground Railroad, has been widely criticised by professional anti-sex trafficking organizations (including other Christian-based ones) for years. He has accumulated millions of dollars for his so-called "non-profit" organisation, and he runs several for profit organisations on the side. Most of this money is presumably pocketed by Ballard and his cohorts, as millions is unaccounted for and only a sliver goes to OUR. It's not about "saving children", it's about money and spreading Ballard's religious ideology.
This is compounded by the fact that Ballard, before he left the CIA, was almost always the last officer to arrive on any scene where child sex trafficking was involved, yet he somehow has hundreds of stories where he's singlehandedly rescued children. In fact, the "true story" the film is based on, where Ballard apparently saved a five year old boy—who, by Ballard's own account, ran up to him, hugged him, and begged to be taken away—didn't even happen. According to court receipts from the arrest and trial of Earl Venton Buchanan (the pedophile in possession of the little boy), Ballard arrived at the scene long after the boy was rescued and taken into custody, and he was barely involved. The documents can easily be found online under the San Diego incident reports.
Ballard was also caught lying about saving one particular girl named Liliana, the literal poster child for OUR. As it turns out, Liliana rescued herself by escaping her captors when she was seventeen and being trafficked in New York. Even more egregious, every time Ballard told her story, he would lower her age to garner more sympathy ... as if her being seventeen wasn't sad enough. In one instance, he claimed she was 14. In another, he claimed she was 11. Ballard also exploited Liliana's story as a reason for needing stricter border patrols and a better wall, despite the fact that she was being abused in America. There is no evidence to suggest OUR had anything to do with her rescue.
Ballard and his "organisation" have even ruined entire legitimate rescue operations in other countries and put children at risk, like in the Dominican Republic, where he endangered the lives of 26 girls by playing vigilante, being followed around by a camera crew, and causing a shootout that effectively traumatised the children he used as a prop to lure in buyers. His response to the mishap and rightful criticism by the Dominican police was basically, "Well ... you win some, you lose some."
The children were released without receiving any therapy or rehabilitative care, and Anne Gallagher, the leading global expert on the international law on human trafficking, said that OUR has an "alarming lack of understanding about how sophisticated criminal trafficking networks must be approached and dismantled" and went on to call the work of OUR "arrogant, unethical, and illegal". Those children easily could've been shot and killed. This occurred in 2014, but Ballard still insists that his "rescues" be filmed, and he even pitched it as a reality TV show. His reasoning for this, he says, is to "spread awareness", but we all know it's because he loves the spotlight.
Entire law enforcement agencies have actually cut ties with or even condemned OUR, such as Washington State Law Enforcement, as a result of Ballard's proclivity to conflate child sex trafficking with consensual adult sex work. Ballard and OUR regularly set up sting operations and lambasted the men who showed up for kink play, publicly branding them as pedophiles, even though the men in question were under the impression that they were meeting for sex with consenting, adult women. This led to several lawsuits against OUR, all of which they rightfully lost.
Ballard's means of gathering intelligence is also questionable, as he, by his own admission, sometimes consults psychic mediums for information on missing children and asks where they're being held captive. I genuinely wish I was joking about that.
The main actor in Sound of Freedom, Jim Caviezel, also has ties to the Qanon movement, and Caviezel himself is a hardcore conspiracy theorist. He believes that Donald Trump is "the new Moses" and that "liberals [literally] drink the blood of children". This is ironic, considering Caviezel and Ballard both met Trump several times, yet never pressed him for information regarding Epstein's client list. Moreover, Caviezel and Ballard both donate to the Catholic Church, which funds the largest child sex trafficking ring on the southern border and has a history of rampant sexual abuse of children. Even more insane, Caviezel admitted to watching child porn, to apparently "get in character" for the movie. He claimed that if Ballard had to watch it, it only "made sense" that he'd have to watch it, too. To "motivate" him to fight child trafficking.
...Alright, bud.
Surprise, surprise, both men are also outspokenly anti-LGBTQ+, despite the fact that children/teens in that community are statistically more likely to be trafficked. The majority of child trafficking is not the result of random kidnappings, as the movie would have you believe. The majority of children are actually recruited into sexual exploitation by a family member or friend/boss. The majority of those children are also not generally passed around in Mexico, like this racist, white savior-oriented movie would have you believe, but they actually either stay in or end up in America. America is, in fact, the largest consumer of child porn and child sex slaves this side of the globe (and nearly the largest producer), yet the movie depicts almost every pedophile as Mexican or some other non-white race.
At the end of the movie, Ballard comes on screen and asks people to donate/buy tickets for others, so that the movie can spread awareness. This is why so many seats in certain theatres are empty, despite websites saying the seats are sold out. Whether or not Angel Studios is also shadow purchasing tickets to boost sales can't be proven, obviously, but I wouldn't put it past them. These "conspiracies" have all served to market the movie and boost ticket sales.
As for Disney trying to keep the movie shelved, that's also a lie. Yes, Disney did technically shelve the movie when they bought Fox, since it didn't exactly correspond with its family-friendly brand, but they had no problem with the movie being released under a different studio. The actual reason Sound of Freedom was in "production hell" for five years was because Tim Ballard kept trying to milk donations. Despite the fact that filming wrapped up in 2018, he kept asking for more and more and more. He used people's faith and understandably emotional response to something as wicked as pedophilia to rake in millions. That's what Ballard is really about, money and stardom. In the movie, there's even a post-credit message where Jim Caviezel says the movie was held back to "maximize its distribution and raise awareness about child sex trafficking".
Translation: Ballard greedy.
Ballard himself admitted the accuracy of this movie "isn't important", and that he just wanted to get the movie out to "spread the word". By that, he of course means the Christian word—but why should fighting child sex trafficking be tied to religion? At the end of the day, Sound of Freedom is a vanity project, and it spreads incredibly dangerous misinformation. Stranger still, Ballard left the OUR just prior to the debut of Sound of Freedom, a fact he's neglected to mention in every interview regarding the movie. It's not clear why he left, but it seems that he fled after an internal investigation into the organisation began. That's not too suspicious or anything. My guess is authorities are trying to find out were all that missing money went, and Ballard doesn't want to be there when they figure it out.
By the way, that final line you hit me with; "God's children are not for sale", the line from the movie that Ballard claims a fellow agent whispered to him while on a case, as well as the title of the movie, which another agent supposedly said to Ballard after a giant rescue operation—those were lies, too. No agents ever said that to him. The police reports for those cases, as well as the agents Ballard supposedly quoted, all said he was the last to arrive on the scene and those conversations never happened.
Ballard cannot be trusted and Sound of Freedom is based on a lie. It's a scam. Everything he does is a scam. All he cares about is spreading his ideology, making money, and looking like a superhero. And this is only the tip of the iceberg. Look into his other companies, and into the ex-military soldiers and police officers who left OUR because of how poorly trained their people are when it comes to rescue operations.
Every sane person knows pedophilia and human trafficking is wrong, but giving your money to Qanon-adjacent, right-wing leaning, LGBTQ+-hating, Catholic Church-sympathising, fame-chasing, money-hungry, perpetual liar Tim Ballard isn't going to help.
The best way to help out is learning about the signs of child trafficking. Keep an eye out for any children that might be getting abused. If you suspect something, report it, don't be a silent bystander. Volunteer within your community to make sure the children in your area have food and resources, support LGBTQ+ youth, and watch the other adults around you to ensure they're not acting inappropriately. You can also donate to social programs that create safe spaces for children and even apply for jobs that specialise in these fields. Don't go to see a movie just because it aligns with your religious beliefs, feel sad for a little while, then sit on your ass and let Tim Ballard handle everything.

Yuuei School of Outcasts (Part 3)
Previous Part!
Part 3! Sorry this took a while, real busy with school stuff! And am going to be busy for the rest of the week to prepare for prom, so I apologise. But I'll have a draft for the other AU to post in the meanwhile. With Ochako, I had an interesting idea.
They’re still in their second year, so Ochako hasn’t really gotten there with clothing yet. She wants to get more choices she can mix and match with but she just doesn’t have the spare change to do so.

Seat 5: Ochako Uraraka
Ochako hails from South Korea, she adores all things fiction and musical. She loves helping out in the theatre room and greenhouse, assisting Professor Anan with the plants and flowers around the school, and wants to start a non-profit organisation to help those in poverty like her. She loved playing Veronica in Heathers and is happily dating Himiko who is in the class one year above her.
Seat 6: Mashirao Ojiro
Mashirao lives on a simple motto, 'Protect those who can't protect themselves', or 'Protect Protecc'. Growing up in a bad neighbourhood in Poland, Mashirao saw what happens to those who can't protect themselves, and was determined to try to help the best he can. Simping over Tooru, but believes it's requited.
