In His Thoughts ~ A Markiplier Ego Fanfic

This here fic comes from a delightful anon prompt involving Noir-Mark from ISWM, and our favourite detective boi Abe - I’m VERY exciting to be writing Noir-Mark for the first time, and throughout the fic I shall simply call him Noir! With that said LET’S DO THIS!

The Invincible II… was grounded. Don’t worry, it was neither in danger nor being punished like a badly behaved child. The ship was merely recuperating on Earth for repairs, and as a result every single land and sea-faring ego had descended, eager to see inside the great vessel. Of course, the crew were eager to oblige. The whole place was bustling as about twenty mini tours were going on at once, everyone chatting in their little groups or pairs. One pair, however, had managed to get away from the rabble, entering into the reality of black and white and finding themselves at a much quieter version of the ship’s bridge. What made them enter this reality? Well, Noir Mark was playing tour guide to Abe, and so naturally thought his reality was the only one worth showing off. Abe had been biting back a grin the whole time, because since they’d first shaken hands Abe had been privy to Noir’s excessive mental monologues.

‘And here is my bridge. Magnificent isn’t it?’

Noir said, and Abe bit the inside of his cheek as Noir’s following thoughts slipped into his head.

‘Obviously it’s magnificent, it is my design after all.’

Abe glanced around the space, and admittedly… it was pretty magnificent. Everything was sleek, completely pristine and clearly functioning to perfection. Abe trailed a few fingers over the gleaming console, and sent Noir a grin.

‘Very impressive, you design all this yourself?’

‘Indeed I did, how d’you guess?’

‘Intuition.’

Abe replied, smiling innocently, and then he had to force down another laugh when Noir grinned, and his thoughts flared up loudly.

‘I knew he’d be impressed. Clearly he has a fine set of senses… come to think of it, he’s pretty damn fine all over.’

Noir’s eyes flicked over Abe’s profile, and the detective had to hope Noir wouldn’t notice the little blush appear on his face. However as time went by, amidst Noir showing Abe all the details of his bridge… it got harder for Abe to keep it together. Not only were Noir’s thought about him flustering, but every bit of self-praise and self-compliment revealed to Abe that this guy was used to people thinking he was the crème de la crème of men. As the pair of them looked out into space, Abe glanced at Noir and mused.

‘So ah, you ever get any insubordination from the rest of crew?’

‘Oh they would never dare! I know what makes them all tick, so they know better than to cross the line with me.’

Noir replied with pride lacing his voice, making Abe hum thoughtfully.

‘Huh…’

Abe turned to face him fully, crossing his arms casually as his eyes trailed up to lock with Noir’s. Needless to say, the locking of their eyes was nothing short of intimate.

‘And… what about you?’

Noir’s mouth curved into a subtle smile.

‘What about me?’

Abe smiled back, a hint of playfulness in his voice.

‘What makes you tick?’

Now, to anyone with a regular sense of perception, Noir would have seemed like his normal charming self, entirely unaffected by Abe’s little query. But Abe was a seasoned detective with the added talent of thought perception… he could see and hear every little detail of a person. So when Noir replied, Abe took note of the way his jaw briefly clenched.

‘Ah… nothing, hah, no weaknesses here!’

Noir said… but then his mind quivered, and expressed something far different.

‘Alright now Noir, just relax. Yes he’s an incredibly handsome detective, but there’s no way he could know… right?’

Abe bit back a smirk. So Noir was hiding a little weakness. He took a pointed step closer to Noir, so they were truly chest to chest. Abe tilted his head at Noir, his words coming out in an innocent, flirty fashion.

‘Nothing? Not one little thing that makes you weak at the knees?’

Noir’s breath hitched, but he covered it with a charming chuckle.

‘I’m afraid I must disappoint you, detective. Thanks to my extensive multiversal and quantum travels, I have developed immunity to a great many ills and vulnerabilities associated with the common man.’

Abe nodded along as he took a casual step closer to Noir, but in reality he was listening to the dialogue of Noir’s mind.

‘Oh lord he’s getting closer, relax Noir relax, he’s probably just doing some innocent flirting. Just because your crew has a habit of tickling doesn’t mean he does! Although, his expression does look rather mischievous… could he be about to tickle me?’

Abe had to use his willpower to not smirk as he realised what Noir was so flustered about. His weakness. He was ticklish. Abe had no hesitation in his head as he slowly smiled at Noir.

‘Y’know Noir… I like you.’

Noir smiled, but then he paled when Abe lowered his voice.

‘And to answer your question… yes. I am going to tickle you.’

Before Noir could even process Abe’s words, determined fingers reached out and dug into his abs. A howl of shocked laughter flew out of Noir’s mouth as he bent double, practically folding like a lawn chair, as the surge of ticklishness made him crumple to the ground. Abe let out a laugh of his own, finding his reaction to be the most adorable thing he had ever seen! Noir’s eyes were wide as he spluttered out laughter, wriggling on the ground as Abe straddled his legs and continued tickling him.

‘Whahahat the hehehehell?!’

Noir exclaimed as Abe’s fingers danced over his taut dress shirt, pinching at his muscles effectively as he chuckled.

‘You ought be more careful with your thoughts buddy.’

Noir’s eyes went wide as the realisation hit him through his mirth.

‘Yohohohou’re the thohohought reheheader!’

Noir had heard tell that one of the land-living egos had the ability to detect the thoughts of those in his proximity, but he hadn’t known precisely who it was.. until now. Now, Noir went beet red, realising that Abe would have heard all his thoughts about him being ticklish, all his self-brags, his comment about­–

‘About how you think I’m attractive? Oh yeah, I heard that one too. I gotta say, I’m pretty flattered.’

Abe chuckled, his eyes sparkling as he blatantly enjoyed the feeling of tickling all over Noir’s muscled abdomen, letting out a low, playful whistle as he did so.

‘Wow, strong and ticklish? I like you more and more every second.’

Noir, completely taking off guard by the flirting and compliments, accidently let out a stream of higher pitched giggles amidst his guffaws. Usually he was the charmer, the smooth-talker with liquor in hand and the gleam of intimacy in his eyes. He’d never really been the one on the receiving end before, and as a result he felt more flustered than he ever thought possible!

‘Ohohoho my gahahad stahap wihihith the teheheasing!’

Abe laughed warmly, taking some time to scratch at Noir’s stomach, drawing out more guffaws and high-pitched yelps as he replied.

‘Teasing? I’m just stating facts over here, not my fault if you get flustered.’

‘Ihihihi ahaham nahahat fluhuhustered!’

Noir retorted, making Abe raise an amused eyebrow. He let his fingers teasingly drag down Noir’s stomach and hips, until they drummed playfully atop Noir’s thighs.

‘Oh you’re not flustered? That’s interesting… because your mind’s kinda racing with how you feel more flustered than you ever thought possible.’

Abe winked, and let his fingers squeeze and pinch the flesh of Noir’s thighs mercilessly. Noir howled with laughter, trying to tug at his legs and bat at Abe’s hands, but he was too frantic to truly dislodge the detective in any way. Noir was used to getting sneaky tickles and jabs from his crewmates, but no-one ever dared to try and take him down like this! He’d actually forgotten just how deathly ticklish he was.

‘Ahahahalrihihight ahalrihihight I’m fluhuhustered! Stahahahahappit!’

On the tail-end of his reply Noir let out a snort, making him blush furiously as Abe laughed, finding it so damn endearing.

‘Aww, y’know you’re pretty cute like this. There’s somethin’ real special about a big strong guy bein’ so sensitive, don’t you think?’

Noir continued to laugh and snort, his heart racing as Abe’s teasy, flirtatious compliments made butterflies swarm in his stomach. Noir’s hands weakly held Abe’s arms, but at this point he wasn’t even trying to push him away… honestly, a big part of him didn’t want to.

‘Ihihihi’m gohohoing toho… gehehet yohohou fohohor thihis!’

Abe laughed warmly, and let his hands slide down playfully to Noir’s kneecaps as he leaned in closer to him, his face hovering close to Noir’s as he whispered.

‘Oh yeah? You wanna do it over dinner, or are you a long walk on a galactic beach kind of guy?’

Noir’s breath hitched, and before he could reply with anything remotely coherent, Abe squeezed his kneecaps. Noir let out an honest to God shriek of laughter, his whole body jolting as he babbled.

‘AHHH NONONOHOHO NAHAHAT THEHEHERE!’

‘Ohh is that a good spot, you like it here?’

Abe teased as he kept squeezing his kneecaps, his nimble fingertips pressing in nice and deep as Noir writhed with truly hysterical laughter. Abe didn’t need to sense his thoughts to know that he’d found the absolute jackpot of tickle spots on Noir. Noir looked up at him pleadingly, a huge grin on his face.

‘PLEHEHEHEASE HAHAHAVE MEHERCY!’

Abe chuckled, raising a playful eyebrow down at him.

‘You sure you want me to stop? You kinda look like you’re enjoying yourself.’

Noir blushed even hotter, since it was true that he’d given up in his struggles and had completely stopped even trying to grab Abe’s hands. But Noir could also feel himself losing his energy the more he was tickled, so he gave Abe another pleading look.

‘IHIHI CAHAHAN’T TAHAHAKE MUHUCH MOHORE!’

Abe’s expression softened, and he sensed that Noir was being honest. Abe slowed his touch until the tickling stopped altogether, allowing Noir to calm down his laughter into residual chuckles as he got his breath back. After a few moments, Noir looked up at Abe and grinned with every ounce of his charm restored.

‘God… you’ve got to be the mohost villainous detective I’ve ever met. It’s attractive, by the way.’

Abe laughed, his eyes gleaming.

‘Oh yeah? Well you’ve gotta be the most pride-centred flirt I’ve ever met… and you’re pretty attractive too.

Noir’s grin grew as his eyes flicked over Abe’s face, taking in his worn, yet warm, features as his heartbeat got a tad faster. Then he cleared his throat softly, and spoke in a quieter voice.

‘What you said before… in case you’re interested, I’m more of a dinner kind of guy.’

Abe’s smile softened. He stood up and helped Noir to his feet, and their hands lingered on each other’s arms as the detective replied.

‘So am I.’

So, in a perhaps unexpected twist, all it took was a few teases and tickles to bring together the detective and the time-spliced engineer. A man hardened by his detective work who liked his liquor, and had an insatiable charm… combined with a man hardened by his space-faring exploits who liked his liquor, and who too had an insatiable charm. Thinking about it, perhaps such a pairing is not such a wild twist after all. Perhaps it’s simply two similar souls with two similar hearts… whose thoughts brought them together in the way they both deserved.

Here's the fic which you should probs read first When the cat's away...

Soooooooo.

In the comics Spiderman and the black cat have a very flirty relationship and always end up hanging out when they're both on duty, the difference being Cat is more of a vigilante and anti-hero. They also have an on/off relationship with Cat being the main instigator.

After him and MJ got divorced, he started using his Spiderman persona more because he felt his real self was too pathetic. So he starts going off on more jobs and stakeouts. He actually finds himself looking for Cat and following her to find out more about her (ik this sounds creepy but hey ho). And he finds himself falling for her.

*skip the portal opening up and him finding Miles*

When he's talking to Miles he finds himself asking about Cat...

"So in this universe, do you have a black cat?"

"There's one that lives on the roof I think--"

"no no. The Black Cat. The vigilante."

"No? Is that someone I should look out for? Am I gonna get my own?"

"Yeah, just when you meet them...have fun." (I'm using 'them' because Peter B. wouldn't know what gender Black Cat will show up as in Miles' universe.)

*Aunt May's house*

When Aunt May sees Peter B. she immediately goes to the door and brings out a letter addressed to this universe's Peter that he didn't get a chance to open before he died. The envelope has 3 distinct claw marks slightly scratched into it. He smirks knowing it was you, well this universe's you.

He opens the letter and reads...

"Hi Peter. I'm sorry it's been a while but I thought MJ wouldn't appreciate you always hanging out with me, so I took myself out of the equation. I'm truly happy you found someone and that you like your life with her. But because I don't plan on seeing you again I have to tell you. I love you. I'm in love with you. That's all. Have a great life. And remember, you promised to name your child my suggestion:............Y/n Y/l/n (meow) xoxo"

His eyes well up when reading. How did he never know? You'd always been flirty and you'd both kissed a little (more like a lot), but this was love. Maybe it was something about seeing your name for the first time or seeing you speak sincerely without the need for flirtatious teasing. But something changed inside of him.

*talking to the other spider-people*

"so do any of you guys know a y/n y/l/n?"

"The Black Cat?" "Black cat?" "The cat?" "cat?"

"Wow. So who are they to you?"

There's a pause whilst the spider-people consider.

"She's my partner in crime. I'd be lost without her on my side." Noir goes first.

"He's my best friend. I love that guy!" Porker chimes in.

"I never got to tell them how I felt." Peni solemnly whispers.

They all look to Gwen waiting for her. She takes a moment. Then she looks up at Peter B.

"She's the love of my life." Gwen begins to smile. "And I didn't realise that until I was here. And she wasn't."

*coming out of the Portal*

Peter B. is dumped unceremoniously back into his New York. Despite the free-fall and his sore limbs and ass (juicy) from when he fell, he feels good. And he smiles, genuinely for the first time in years.

He jumps back up and swings throughout New York city, trying to spot the familiar icy locks and black catsuit (God he's thought about her in that catsuit a lot).

He meets her on a rooftop, high above the city.

"Hey spidey! You've not been around a lot? Did you go grovelling back to MJ on your knees like a kicked puppy?"

"No, actually. Believe it or not I was in another universe. And do you know what I found out about those other universes."

"What? I'm all earssss." you hiss into his mask covered ear.

"That you love me." You panic and try to swing away. But he grabs you first and holds you in his arms.

He takes off his mask revealing his scruffy beard and salt and peppered locks.

"My name is Peter. But can you still call me spidey cause it makes me sound super-cool, like a super-cool biker." You giggle even though tears are streaming down your face. You'd dreamed of this and actually the face under the mask was more beautiful than you ever imagined.

He leans into your face. "Peter, what are you doing?"

"A leap of faith."

You join together in a passionate kiss. When you eventually pull away you hug him tight and bury your face in his chest whilst tears are still streaming down your face. He whispers in your ear "Honey, I'm home."

*after the birth of their first child*

"She's so beautiful."

"I don't think I've ever seen anything as perfect as her. I never want to let her go."

"Honey, you do have to let me hold her sometime." you hold out your waiting arms.

"No. Did not agree to that."

"Anyways what should we name her?"

"How about Mayday?"

"I love it! Where did that come from?"

"Just from this thing I once read." He winks at his baby Mayday. Knowing one day he'll tell her all about the letter, the multiverse, Miles, and how he realised her mum was the one.

So I feel like it’s a safe bet to say that Noir! Engie is probably Actor right? He’s completely different from Engie (I know it’s a Noir! verse but I feel like even still he’d keep some of his good natured, goofy-ness), he’s all suave and even belittles the Captain which is something I don’t think Engie would do, even after everything, even after he tried to stop us I don’t think he’d just straight up just call us dumb- but you know who would? Actor. Actor 100% would, he also made a reference to ADWM who we all know was Actor!

Top 5 Best Films of 2024

Last post of the year (in my timezone), and I wanted to make it a good one; a positive one, even. So, without further ado, here goes!

5. Anora

The "Common People" to Pretty Woman's "Uptown Girl" and the first Sean Baker film I can confidently say that I liked, rather than 'quite liked' or 'kind of liked' (as was the case with Red Rocket), Anora came out of nowhere, body-slammed me into a wall, then left without an apology as it should. How Mikey Madison didn't blow out her vocal cords during the home invasion sequence, I have no idea. What I do know is I hope she - and Mark Eydelshteyn - get more work.

4. Cuckoo

Beautiful and bonkers with star turns from both Hunter Schafer and Dan Stevens (who was having a really good year this year) and a reveal that is only slightly less bizarre than the world it's set in. I compared it to A Cure for Wellness and I stand by it. Although ACFW didn't end in of the best worst gunfights in modern cinema, which was the cherry on top of a fucking weird cake.

3. Abigail

Gory, hilarious, and the best thing Radio Silence have done since 2019's Ready or Not (which has become something of a comfort watch for me over the years). Four strong consecutive films being good to very good is a rarity in any filmmaker's career, but the Radio Silence guys have managed that with aplomb and seeming ease. Alisha Weir holds her own against a group of more experienced actors who are twice her age, and my partner and I picked up on that The Guest reference at the end. Don't think that went unnoticed, RS.

2. Dune: Part Two

The problems I had with Part One were chiefly that the pacing was uneven and that the supporting characters weren't given much to do. Those problems were fixed in Part Two, leading to an expansive and engrossing watch of an epic that remained accessible to people not well versed in the source novel. The visuals are stunning, as is par for the course with Villeneuve, with the Paul/ Feyd-Rautha fight being a highlight (see above). Stilgar gets the best moments, almost stealing the film altogether. Film critic Mark Kermode summarised the film as "Life of Brian played straight", and I'm inclined to agree.

Honourable mentions:

Longlegs: The only July horror whose ending did not tell me to go fuck myself, this was a tense and absorbing watch despite Cage being Cage. Loved the noir feel to it. Sidenote: I'm convinced that Lee Harker is autistic.

Civil War: What can I say, this was great. Not too much worldbuilding, and the slow dehumanisation of the war journalists as they become complicit in the dehumanisation of the subjects they photograph was a fascinating direction to take.

Boy Kills World: The best videogame adaptation of the year and the first revenge thriller with a nameless orphaned protagonist that was released in April. Man, Bill Skarsgard has had a mixed year.

Monkey Man: The other revenge thriller with a nameless orphaned protagonist, Dev Patel gives 120% and grimes up good doing it. It has themes and ideas, it executes them well, it has funny moments, and it lacks sexual violence.

Poor Things: I did not know how much I wanted to see Mark Ruffalo scream "CUUUUUUNNNNNNNTTTTT!!" until this came along.

And finally, the best thing I saw this year... drum roll pleeease...

1. The Substance

Dune: Part Two held this spot for so long, but then The Substance came along, body-slammed it into a hidden alcove in its own bathroom, and settled in its place comfortably. Hatching - my number one film of 2022 - was about a girl entering puberty, entering a point where she would start to be desired by the opposite sex; The Substance follows a woman reaching the end of that desirability. It's the only film I wanted to see again before it left cinemas, and regretfully, I did not get that chance to. It straddles that line between ironic and unironic arthouse. It is beautiful, it is uncompromising, it is vicious, it is stark, it is unforgettable, and it is deserving of this spot. Brava, Mme Fargeat and co.

Pulp Live Show Review: 9/8, Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom, Chicago

Pulp has never been in a rush. Their most recent album came out 23 years ago. The last time they toured the US was 2012, the year they played Coachella, and even that "tour" was a couple dates on each coast. Jarvis Cocker performed at Pitchfork Music Festival way back in 2008, but the band hadn't played a proper show in Chicago since the 90s. Safe to say, last Sunday, a sold out Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom was eagerly anticipating the quartet's emergence on a stage at an ancient venue whose age is only about three times the number of years since the last Pulp show in Chicago.

Of course, in true sardonic fashion, as the lights dimmed, we were greeted with a screen with hilarious words that alternated between straightforward and facetious: "Good evening...This is a night you will remember for the rest of your life...This is the 552nd concert by Pulp," and so on. Yes, even their idea of entertainment is buried within the glory of the mundane. The band (keyboardist Candida Doyle, drummer Nick Banks, guitarist Mark Webber, and touring musicians Andrew McKinney, Emma Smith, and Adam Betts) finally walked on the stage sans Cocker, though you could hear his unmistakable deadpan launch into "I Spy" coming from behind the stage setup. From the moment he graced the crowd with his presence--as gangly and expressive as ever--Cocker was in show mode, both actively and passively. He vogued along to every song, almost in time with the guitar riffs on "Sunrise". He sang while lying down during "Weeds", but stood and gained more energy as it built up and slowed down into "Weeds II (The Origin of the Species)" and an unexpected segue into a song from a different album, "F.E.E.L.I.N.G.C.A.L.L.E.D.L.O.V.E." As if to recall the dour noir of its iconic video, he performed the beginning of "This Is Hardcore" from a lounge chair. And he was genuine, too, dedicating "Something Changed" to late bassist Steve Mackey and the late, great Steve Albini, who produced Cocker's 2009 solo album Further Complications.

What really struck me, though, was how dynamic the band was. Beyond standout instrumental moments--the plinking keyboard line of "Pink Glove", the intertwining guitar and bass melodies of "Babies"--I've never thought of Pulp as a live band that would be particularly instrumentally exciting. I was wrong. Their use of effects on songs like "Sorted for E's & Wizz" was so all-encompassing it sounded like the noises were coming from the crowd itself, as if you were on the very drugs whose culture the song lambasts. "Babies" changed tempo seamlessly, emphasizing the twangy guitars during verses and rocketing into a gallop during the chorus. "Common People", of course, sped up and slowed down as Cocker introduced the band during a long interlude, the announcement of every name accompanied by brief rousing power chords and drums that, each time, toyed you into thinking the band was going to launch back into the song.

"Common People" finally ended, the third song played during the encore. It's the band's best known and arguably best song. Show over, right? Well, Pulp came back out for what was the most unexpectedly exciting part of the night: the potential for new music. They debuted "Spike Island", a new disco-indebted song with slide guitar, before ending the night with the one-two punch of "Razzmatazz" and "Glory Days". Looking at their more recent setlists, Pulp has debuted at least two new songs during their second encore. Maybe--hopefully--their current tour is more like an intermission.

Theo's favourite thing about Neve is her intellect, her curiosity, her thirst to understand. Neve's favourite thing about Theo is that her heart is still soft despite Crow training, that she picks up creative hobbies out of the necessary skills she had to learn (patching up her clothes became sewing for fun; embroidering went from strictly to mark her House to other things).

Theo is directly changed by her time away from the Crows, and this song definitely reflects both her and Neve's reluctance to get attached and complete inability not to get attached before they commit to each other.

Does your Rook fall for their partner at first sight? If not, what moment made your Rook realize they're in love with them?

Theo resolutely does not believe in love when she starts the game; not that sort, anyway. The sort of attachment, of trust needed is beyond her. so no- she doesn't even flirt with Neve until quite a bit after their meeting (on purpose) when she's already detaching from the Crows mentally. the moment she realised was after they returned to Minrathous post-coup, saw the horrific things done to the Shadow Dragons- and Neve checked on the beggars she knew first with the sort of kindness that Theo has yearned for all her life. She's convinced that she'll never get that, and doesn't even try. That she doesn't try, but puts all her effort into helping Minrathous and it's people, is why Neve opens up to the idea (in her own fist clenching, hardened noir detective way). That moment on the dock when Neve grabs her and kisses her? She didn't know until it was happening how badly she needed to be touched like that. And neither did Neve.

Ok this might be too niche, and if so I totally get it. Its a bit similar to the one about post top surgery (which I loved, by the way)

So I don't know if you've ever heard of transtape, but it's a type of binding. And boy it can be REALLY itchy. So I was wondering if you could write a noir fic where the reader and him are eating out somewhere, or even at home, and the reader is (trying to hide it but kind of hardcore failing) itching at the tape like they've got some sort of allergic reaction.

But noir is obviously concerned like "what's wrong are you having an allergic reaction???" And the reader is like "oh Nono it's nothing-". Either because they didn't tell noir they were trans yet, or simply because they don't want him to worry and flip out.

But then noir is like "absolutely not" and he goes into full "gotta save my partner" mode, because he thinks there's gotta be some sort of obscenely serious allergic reaction here, and he's doing a full medical examination while panicking. The reader finally tells him what's up when they see just how worried he is, and he's relieved but also still concerned. Cute hugs included please.

ever since you invited noir to your dimension, he’s been wanting to try out all of the new food places that he’s never heard of before

he mostly sees a sign that he really likes, something usually glowing and neon and immediately assumes the food has to be incredible

admittedly, a lot of the food is better in comparison to 30’s cuisine

it’s like a tradition for you guys to get takeout once a week, something like that, just to try out new foods and see if you can find anything you like

this is one of those instances, later in the week where you two decide to order some takeout and kick back in your place

you also happen to be three days deep into wearing trans tape, right around that mark where it starts to get irritating and itchy if not maintained properly

of course, you’ve done pretty well at keeping this little detail about yourself private, for your own reasons

that of course includes from your partner, peter parker/spider-noir

wether he knows you’re trans or not, he’s unaware that you bind with trans tape and if you were ever to explain that to him, he’d be fuckin clueless

trans tape ? the tape is trans ? what ?

so yeah i don’t blame you for keeping it a secret

anyway, you two are settling down with your food from this new joint that noirs had his eye on for a bit

it slaps, food slaps, food is amazing

and it’s a pure coincidence that your trans tape starts to really irritate you, the adhesive or maybe one of those annoying as fuck loose fibres that’s just barely grazing ur skin

at first you just try to discreetly readjust your body while trying not to spill food all over you, easy enough

but then the itch doesn’t go away .

try as you might, there’s no way of discreetly dealing with an itch . give it a scratch, lest it haunts you for the rest of your life

you again, try to do it as discreetly as possible

but after a while, even noirs oblivious ass will notice how thoroughly you’re trying to scratch at yourself

at first his head is completely empty, he’s just staring at you cluelessly until he thinks that it could have something to do with the new food you’re both eating

immediately voices this concern, doesn’t bother to beat around the bush if he thinks your health is at risk, straight up “what’s wrong? are you allergic?” with no context

now you’re both confused cause, no, you’re not ? but then ah, right, attempting to discreetly scratch an itch can look awkward

assuming your allergic is probably the smartest thing to do

insist you’re okay with no further explanation, and noir will just assume you’re attempting to downplay it

takes it into his own hands, sets his food aside without hesitation and does the same for you

starts a full scale investigation, he is a PI

starts to gently pull on your arms to get a better look at them, rolling your sleeves up if you’re wearing them

checking your temperature, getting up close to see if you’re breaking out in any sort of rash while asking plenty of questions, like a real detective

he doesn’t start to panic until he doesn’t find any of these symptoms at all, now he’s perplexed and worried

the whole time you can be trying to spew reassurances or excuses, but he’s not convinced until there evidence to suggest you’re NOT having an allergic reaction to the food

you’ll be here forever unless you spill what’s going on

so, in your time, you eventually will

you’ll reassure him once again that you’re fine and go on to explain to him what’s going on, that you’re binding and your trans tape is starting to irritate you

the concept of being trans is a little confusing to him, but the physical act of taping your chest down is a lot easier for him to understand since it’s a like, an action (does that make sense)

so while it might confuse him why you do it at first, especially if it’s gets irritating after a while, he can understand the actual action of doing it

in his head it’s like “oh. okay.” idk man it’s ur appearance he doesn’t have a say in that shit, he doesn’t wanna, he just acknowledged that this is a thing you do

but then he gets curious

he’ll ask about the details, why it irritates and if there’s things you can do to avoid it

explain to him that, yeah, it can suck to bind and there’s instances where it can be a risk, but you do it for the sake of your wellbeing

he’ll insist that you don’t have to bind around him if it makes you uncomfortable

in his head, if something bad has happened while you bind once, it could happen again

now he’s just kinda bummed that this is something you have to endure at all, just for the sake of your own comfort

he’ll probably hit you with a “Well. Do you have to?” a few times in one sitting, in the least insensitive way possible

he just doesn’t want you to be uncomfortable

seems counter productive to him, to do something that causes discomfort to BE comfortable

but he’s just having a hard time understanding the importance

still, he’s not feeling great about it now and wants to show you he’s there through plenty of TLC

grab ur takeout and pick a movie with some bright ass colours

he’s notably a little more delicate now around your chest, especially the sides

for future reference, he’s happy to help you tape up if you ever need the extra pair of hands

but you will have to teach him how to do it properly, if not, he’ll think ur supposed to go as tight as possible

also willing to help take it off, is for some reason the one wincing

he’s checking up on you constantly now

ESPECIALLY after he’s done his own research and learned about how dangerous binding can be if it’s not done right

he’s over dramatic, let him have his moment

he is the type to physically stop you from doing certain things you shouldn’t while binding- will give you one of those disapproving looks while he waits for you to do the right thing

he’ll hit you with a “what do you think you’re doing, mister?” and u just know it’s over
