Publicist Sara’s strained relationship with brother-in-law Liam was a factor in the band’s 2009 split.

Not a direct quote from Noel but I guess he must have alluded to it in the interview, or he told the journalist not to quote him on it, which is why it appears as indirect.

Until Noel denies it, I'm taking it as confirmation.

Did Sara feel that Noel wasn't prioritising her over Liam?

Did she feel Noel wasn't doing enough to protect her and the kids?

Was she jealous?

Or did Sara just get sick of the constant negativity and online harassment?

in absence of a reunion noel interview i'm going back to revisit the great gallagher thaw of late 2014/early 2015 to try to make some sense outta these strange reunion times we are in now.

i've been really curious about this time period for awhile and stockpiling posts with the intention of assembling them in some kind of chronological order. still not quite sure what i'm looking at but it's a bit like find the edge pieces of a puzzle and snapping them together for a frame. you can get a vague idea while understanding much of the pieces are missing to complete the picture. most notably noel is giving interviews at this time while liam is mostly out of the public eye entirely.

assembled them in the queue and looking at them in order now and getting a bit choked up by what we have. even factoring in the normal album press cycle, noel's interviews have noticeable outlier moments during this time. charting his uncharacteristically relaxed calm fondness to emotionally raw moments when mentioning liam, it does look like any attempt at a truce all goes south within a months time (mid february to mid march 2015). coincidence it’s when dead in the water is written and the chasing yesterday is released? of course it’s not lost on me it also is at a period of nostalgia with the 20th anniversaries of their first two albums and part of the buzz about a reunion driven by stone roses reunion. but in the course of the entire feud it sticks out as different. and suggests noel was more invested in a reconciliation than he’d ever be willing to admit.

Speaking in the new issue of MOJO magazine, Liam Gallagher has revealed that Noel Gallagher turned down an offer to reform Oasis for the forthcoming 30th anniversary of Definitely Maybe.

“Noel? He ain’t fucking doing it,” Liam tells MOJO’s Ted Kessler in this month’s MOJO cover feature.

In June, Liam Gallagher embarks on a UK arena tour to mark the anniversary of Oasis’ debut album. Noel Gallagher recently suggested on Talksport Radio that all Liam had to do was call him up to see about healing the rift that’s existed since Oasis split in 2009, but Liam claims an offer to reform was rejected by his older brother.

“I did call him! Well, my people called Noel’s management team,” reports Liam. “We put an offer on the table for an Oasis thing – because we got offered it – and he said no. It was a big tour, a lot of money. He turned it down. I get it, he’s got a divorce going down. I’ll do the Definitely Maybe thing and have a nice time without him.”

2025 will see the anniversary of Oasis’ second album Morning Glory? So perhaps Liam is holding out for a future rapprochement?

“It’s down to the universe. It’ll happen when it happens, it’s not in our hands anymore,” says Liam. “Me, I love nostalgia though. I’m doing the lot. Every album, even… what was the last one?”

BBC Radio 1 - 1997: The love edition

Can't believe that so many seminal Noel & Liam quotes are from the very same interview, either Noel's life + music crisis poured it all out of him, or the good moments are just indeed that good BTS.

Naturally, they were (allegedly) drunk. Liam wasn't supposed to show up but he changed his mind last minute, my headcanon is that he missed Noel judging from how well they got along that day.

Okay so here I find the "as long as ... for a couple of quids" holds some meaning as Noel goes a little rigid saying no. Can't ever meant this. but I can't for the life of me understand Liam.

Also Liam clears out that inspiration entails for him listening and understanding him without rushing into ill-made judgments and it's palpable he's at his limits with the media. Coincidentally the day after this interview he was tracked down by journalists, asking him if he had regrets over what he said, because apparently he swore too much and had people clutch on their pearls all over the UK.

A Sara e o Liam passaram a se odiar depois que ela e o Noel reataram entre 2002/2003, foram anos de brigas entre eles, e mesmo depois do fim da banda o Liam continuou a atacar ela, então acho que a Sara incentivou sim o Noel a se afastar o máximo que podia do Liam.

Oficialmente, o Noel atribuiu o divórcio: 1- às longas turnês do NGHFB; 2- à pandemia; 3- à uma crise de meia idade mútua.

Lembro que, por exemplo, a turnê do álbum Who Built the Moon? durou 2 anos quase ininterruptos, e ele ainda abriu shows do U2 nesse meio tempo, ele até deu uma entrevista dizendo que saiu de casa e deixou dois menininhos fofos e voltou e já tinha dois rapazes com bigode ralo!

Essas turnês longas devem ter feito ele e a Sara criarem ideias e interesses próprios e independentes do parceiro, e esses novos e isolados interesses devem ter entrado em conflito durante a pandemia, já que agora eles foram "obrigados" a conviver no mesmo espaço por meses, sem poder sair e ver outras pessoas (no caso, o círculo de amizades criados quando estavam distantes um do outro), e talvez eles não sabiam mais como lidar um com o outro com essa hiper-convivência que eles não tinham há anos. (e talvez por isso o Noel tenha dito que eles "cansaram um do outro", com essas palavras).

Pra completar, os dois estavam no começo da casa dos 50 anos em plena pandemia e deve ter surgido um sentimento de carpe diem, que eles deviam aproveitar os últimos anos de "juventude" antes de se tornarem idosos e não dessem mais conta de festejar por aí (e pelo que notei, ambos até tiveram essa crise, mas ela foi muito mais forte na Sara, provavelmente porque ela teve que cuidar dos filhos durante seus 40 e tantos e não pode fazer uma grande festa nos seus 50 anos por que foi no meio da pandemia, então ela deve ter sentido que não aproveitou a juventude o suficiente, pelo menos não em comparação ao Noel, que estava viajado o mundo sendo um rockstar), e a forma como cada um queria festejar e viver no pós-pandemia fosse diferente, o que causou mais conflitos e distância entre eles.

These are great questions. I would expect the 'working out' of these questions accounts at least partly for the 'challenging times' that Noel mentioned, and why it's all taking a while to settle. I'm sure their respective lawyers are back and forthing on this, and not at a rapid pace either, knowing what lawyers are like.

Found a family law article on it. They acknowledge that Noel and Sara's lengthy marriage would make settlement more complex. And yes, they count the period when they started cohabitating.

Do you think Sara signed a pre nuptial agreement before marrying noel?

Ahh, now that is the question isn't it. Well, I don't know. I don't think anyone does.

If there is a prenup? A while back when this was being discussed I recall reading that in the UK, a judge can over-rule a prenup if the circumstances have changed significantly since it was drawn up i.e. there are children or if the divorce would leave one party unfairly disadvantaged financially. I think this would apply to Sara, but hey, I'm no judge so take with grain of salt.
