I don't remember a lot from tlatojl but I do remember them making a bunch of random references all the time. Does Jun in the HoM au make offhand references and does anyone else understand them?

I haven't finished a rewatch either, but i think i recall what you are talking about! Tlatojl does make quite a few references to old movies and pop-culture trivia at times, and i think i remember some wrestling references for some reason?? (I might be tripping about that tho, lol)

I do like to think that Jun, Ray Ray and Dennis are all very well versed in 80-90s movies/TV programs because of Ama and Monroe and that's why Jun makes some rather oldie references. Ironic, cause she is on a younger age range of the HoMies. I kinda feel like Danny would understand some references for oldie movies (i like to headcanon that Sam made him and Tucker watch a lot of horror/sci-fi/gothic classics), while Jake would get the bands and music stuff. Ben could probably rival her trivia knowledge of wrestling and trashy TV programs. Jenny can guess all of her references, because she also essentially grew up on a lot of the same TV (and also superior recall of information), thanks to her Mom, but she likes to make wrong guesses just to tease Jun for making such old references.

I just finished Crimson and Clover (over and over), and I'm very nearly at a loss for words on my adoration for this chapter.

You've *clearly* used some sort of dark alchemy at chapter's end to transform a block of words into an hour long episode of prestige lesbian television drama inside my mind. It was the final look at the mixtape that did it, I'm certain. Very well done

the problem with my family is that they’re incredibly pop culture illiterate but have no idea so they think that I’m making crazily esoteric references that are actually really well known. yesterday I was talking about my dad being autistic and I said, he’s not Sheldon level autistic—and every single person said WHO? and I said Sheldon, from big bang theory. and my sister was like, literally no one knows who that is. but of course I look insane if I start screaming: everyone knows who Sheldon is!!!! everyone!!! bazinga!!!!
