so a while back i posted about how anyoing fans that call the astroboy franchise "testuwan atom" are and im gonna talk about the bigest ofender

what few know is that astroboy is simply a shredded and full of cuts verson of the story of the series tetsuwan atom (migthy atom).

unfortunately the media always says that astroboy was made in 1952, however the name astroboy would only appear in 1966.

it would be nice to end this lie that's almost 50 years old (keep in mind this post is from 10 years ago). if astroboy was the same thing it was in japan, there woudlnt be all those horrible alterations."

so let's start by the things op got rigth: yes the 2003 anime dub was pretty crappy and cuted a lot

ok that's all he got rigth let's talk about all he got wrong

frist of: he said the name "astroboy" only apeared in 1966, wich is close enough but stil wrong, the name astroboy apeared in 1963.

also the way he talks about the franchise inplys that all the versions of astroboy pre 2003 also had as much cuts and changes

yeah the 1963 and 80s dubs were not perfect, they had some cuts here some name changes there but NOWERE NEAR as much cuts and changes as the 2003 anime.

also we have the manga! here in the west it was totaly uncut and the only change they made was swiching the name atom to astro (wich dosent change the story at all) and that's it.

and if you think he changed in those almost 11 years you're worng! he's stll the same! you can see him saying the same things about astroboy in coments in devantart dating back to only a few years ago! (i think his name there is just "tetsuwan atom")

man idk, i'm very thankful for guild wars helping me become more comfortable sharing things about my characters, ocs or not. i've always been hesitant to share things i made or thought of and am passionate about out of fear that somebody won't like it or criticize it because i would be CRUSHED. i wouldn't have been able to handle it lmao

i've gotten to the point where it's like, i know not everybody is gonna like everything. if even just one person get a single molecule of enjoyment out of hearing about my dudes then i'm happy 👍 and it makes me happy seeing others talk about and show their characters, because i know how much they mean to me too
