Thinking about the fact that Mabel and Dipper didn't know they had two great uncles.

Yeah they are 12 and at 12 I had a shotty understanding of my family tree- But really? Nobody brought up their great uncle? Stanley? Especially since they'll be staying with his twin brother, Stanford?

Shermie never went to Stan's fake funeral, which to me means the twos relationship was strained on some level. If Shermie is older that means his view of Stan was poisoned in some way, that even as kids they weren't close. If the Shermie is younger then he never even got to meet Stan and all he knew about him was how he failed his family. Hell, people probably barely mentioned Stanley TO Shermie.

The fact that Stan had become a black stain upon the Pines family name makes me so vividly upset. Stanley faked his death and the family just- seemingly decided to strike him from the record. To pretend he didn't existed to spare themselves the sadness and shame.

Stanford and Shermie Pines. The only children worth mentioning of Filbrick and Caryn Pines.

It was never Stanford that was lost to the world. It was Stanley, ever since he had to leave New Jersy- it was always him that had to be struck from the record. Change his name, change his state, change his affiliations, destroy the remains of ghost that was Stanley Pines. Kill him so the family doesn't bring him up, doesn't ask questions, stops asking "Stanford" about his twin.

I just keep thinking about the fact that since the day he made one single mistake all the way up until Ford walks out of that machine- Stanley Pines was killed and did not exist. And Stan himself had no one to blame, he had to play the part in his own demise- He is the only one who ever knew Stanley was alive and has been for decades.

He lives in the multitudes of every personality he's ever taken, all in the hope that he himself can stop being Stanley Pines.

was raised in a cult, subjected to extreme labour and pressure and expectations from a young age, running on 16 hour days with no privacy and little to no autonomy

was raised in an environment where everything hinged on his ability to play. was deprived of food and rest if his performance wasn't satisfactory

was abused physically, emotionally, psychologically by his coaches, his godfather, his 'brother'. was forced to watch said brother inflict unimaginable torture on his friend for years

was forced to hide all of that due to also being a celebrity and growing up in the public eye

unexpectedly had to remove himself from that toxic but familiar environment, leaving his friend behind, in order to survive

had to learn how to function outside of that environment while adapting to a new team and using his non-dominant hand for everything in mere months

so yes i think he deserves some respect

it always makes me sad when ppl boil equius' character down to just creepy racist guy both bc i feel like there was so much more to his character and bc my interpretation of equius is that a lot of his ideas on the hemospectrum came from the fact that troll society is pretty caste-y and he was like. a kid who didnt have a lot of actual social interaction with other people. he was basically only friends with nepeta and gamzee

a lot of equius' more caste-y comments (about how nepeta shouldnt talk to the lowbloods and how karkat's blood makes him an abomination) are early in act 5, either before the sgrub game or when theyve just gotten to the meteor. but later on he stops making those comments as often, builds tavros' robot legs and tells vriska that he doesn't think he can actually bring himself to mistreat any of the lowbloods. and i feel like these changes are because he was forced to actually interact with the other trolls and started seeing them as people. idk maybe this is too forgiving of a read on him i just think the whole hemospectrum thing was something that equius eventually wouldve stopped believing in
