Someone tells Clint that Hawkeye sucks and is the worst avenger and Clint tells them to “shut up shut up shut up shut up now!” And they are smug and preening because the insult got to him but he was trying to warn them because a second later Tony Stark arrives, glasses gleaming, the Iron Legion behind him and a rose gold iphone in his hand, his notes app opened with already a hundred different sue angles typed up, a knife is suddenly poking into their side from behind, Captain America is glaring righteously at them, the sky is darkening with a storm and that man in the purple shirt is slowly turning green. Clint shakes his head sadly and the person squeaks out an “im sorry!” and a bit of pee and flees

Birthday Girl
(repost)
pairing: avengers x reader
a/n I kinda hate this but i needed to write because it’s been months. this only includes the og 6 + wanda & bucky, i could add in others too, just ask! or give me recs because i really don’t know what to write.
reblogs appreciated if you enjoy !
———————————
Eighteen years. That's how long you've been on this earth for (not counting the few off-planet missions you've been on), and as of today, you are officially an adult. You weren't a big fan of birthdays—I mean, you used to be when you were younger, and there was nothing to worry about. As you've gotten older, birthdays have become a reminder of the multitude of responsibilities you'll have to adopt.
You hadn't told anybody it was your birthday; reminding them was the last thing you wanted to do because the Avengers are known for their parties, and they look for the smallest reason to throw one. This year, though, that wasn't going to happen, or at least you were hoping they'd forgotten.
It was 8:00 a.m., your alarm is blaring loudly on the bedside table, and without opening your eyes, your hand feels around for your phone and eventually finds the snooze button—just five more minutes.
Suddenly, you become aware and alert. As you stir yourself awake, your body senses a loud, continuous noise, and you feel as if you're being watched. "HAAAAPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR Y/N, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU," your eyes shoot open to find Natasha and Wanda at the end of your bed singing their hearts out and grinning so hard their jaws must be hurting.
"Wakey, wakey, sleepyhead, it's your birthday!" "My girl is all grown up," Natasha says, wiping away fake tears dramatically. "Vision is making waffles for you; get up so you can eat 'em while they're still hot!" Wanda slaps your ankle, and you curl into a tighter ball. "Five more minutes," you whine, and to your surprise, the two women are not putting up with your nonsense today; your blanket is ripped off you, and you're met with the cold morning air. "Be downstairs in 5 minutes or I will pour a bucket of water over your head," Natasha retorts sternly; she is not messing around. You sit up, looking half dead, but you crack a smile, and with contented sighs, the girls leave your room.
The kitchen erupts into roars of cheers as you enter wearing sweatpants and a hoodie. It's too early for this.
The first to hug you is Tony, who says, "Happy birthday, kid; just because you're eighteen doesn't mean I'm going to stop being your overbearing father figure." You smile at him because that's all you can do and there are about eight hundred other people to hug; you just want your waffles.
"Lady Y/N, Happy Birthday!" Thor booms, "In Asgard, at your age, you can start drinking; I brought you back some Asgardian mead for us to share!" Just as he finishes talking, there is a chorus of "no"s and stern looks sent his way. "Thank you, Thor; maybe when they're not looking," you say with a wink, and he returns a smile.
"Happy birthday, y/n." Bruce smiles; you'd be lying if you said you didn't have a soft spot for the guy. You give him a quick hug, which is awkward because, well, it's Bruce.
"Y/N!" "Happy birthday, pal!" Steve hugs you and accidentally lifts you off the ground; once he puts you down and you can breathe again, you thank him.
"Happy birthday, y/n! Now that you don't have a bedtime, we can spend more time scheming!" Clint smirks. The man is your partner in crime and also the reason why you get into trouble. You ignore his snide remark and give him a hug.
"HAPPYBIRTHDAY Y/N!! I know you're eighteen now, but that doesn't mean anything because you're only a year older than me. What I'm trying to say is.. you can't boss me around."
"Thank you, Pete," you say, and you smile. You swear his birth certificate is wrong. The kid doesn't seem a day past 14.
"Happy birthday, doll; it would seem you're catching up to me," Bucky says as he hugs you. "Eighteen and one hundred and six?" raising an eyebrow "Yeah, same thing," you sarcastically rebuttal.
As everyone sits and tucks into their waffles, you take a second to look at everyone. You're happy they didn't forget.

New Idea: “The Good Days”
So. Male! Reader, of course. Set in the Marvel Universe, but no specific canon. Freeform.
Not sure if I wanna do a series or a one shot; if it's a one shot, the ending will be ambiguous.
No pairings in mind as of yet. Maybe Steve or Bucky. Or both.
Someone from the main group of Avengers. Maybe Tony, because I'm tired of type-casting him as a dad and not a love interest. Not sure about Bruce and Clint, but I'm open to that. Sam and Thor too. Also open to no love interest at all.
Basic gist, there's 2 universes, the... "Original", and the "Alternative". Basically parallel universes of each other.
Imagine "Original" as the bad ending in a video game. "Alternative" is the good ending.
O! for original, A! for alternative.
For preface, O! (Name) has reality bending powers, similar to MCU Wanda's, but not based off of the Infinity Stones. I don't know if I want A! (Name) to have powers.
Original world follows this gist:
Steve get's super-soldiered and goes under the ice.
The Avengers are formed: OG's include Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and the Wasp (Janet Van Dyne).
Steve gets defrosted and joins the Avengers. A few years passes.
O! (Name) discovers his powers and is taken under the Avenger's wing. Powers is very weak at this point.
Others join, like Sam and Spider-Man. Wanda and Pietro joins the Avengers, and you and Wanda become friends as well as training pals.
You may or may not start dating XYZ.
Bucky gets found and joins the Avengers.
You notice your mental health has been deteriorating so you leave the Avengers.
Years passes and some shit goes down, similar to the Accords or the SHRA, where it splits the Avengers in half.
Basically, a war happens, and it's a mess. Key figure heads die. Like. Perma death, hard mode only, no revives.
Steve kills Tony in the heat of the moment.
Steve later dies from an assassination or something.
None of the casualties are resurrected. Sam or Bucky takes over the mantle. Or, if they're dead, no one does. No one's there to take the Iron Man mantle.
The Avengers are effectively no more. You can only watch and mourn, as the public feasts in both fear and veneration for the shitshow. Some even call you out, but none of it was ever important.
A force from the universe comes to Earth and attacks them. The Earth is sorely underprepared after having all of their enhanced/ heroes basically kill each other, we lose, and the Earth turns into a wasteland, similar to Infinity War/ The Blip.
OR. You help win the fight, but at the cost of too much. And now you have to pick back up the singed and tattered pieces.
Whatever was left of the Avengers/ supers/ enhanced/ meta’s are only a handful, including you.
Ever since the big event, years has passed and you’re leading the effort to just help people survive. By now, your powers have grown exponentially, but at the cost of your mental and physical health. You can basically feel and control what's happening on the fucking moon. You haven't slept in months, keeping your body alive purely through your powers.
Something happens, but basically you accidentally get transported to another parallel universe, the Alternative one.
[Insert depressed and exhausted (Name) meeting a way too happy (and healthy) (Name)]
O! (Name) is cautious, but at this point, you're waiting to just drop dead, so whatever happens, happens, and who knows if you’ll put up a fight.
You're dropped in the middle of the casual lounge where almost all of the A! Avengers had been chilling. Like, you land ass-to-couch.
Well, more like ass-to-lap. A! Thor's lap, specifically.
And after a whole shit show, and confirming that you're 99% (Name) and not evil, they calm down and realize, wow, you look awful.
Like, "this tall elderly child needs to be put into a medically induced coma before he overworks himself”, kind of awful.
A! (Name): Wow, you look like shit. When's the last time you slept?
O! (Name): Mm. # months ago.
A! (Name): Lol, funny.
O! (Name), a man who watched his world essentially die: Do I look like someone who's told a joke recently?
A! (Name):
O! (Name):
A! Avengers:
A! (Name): Oh my god, you’re really serious-
Basically, A! Avengers figure out that O! (Name) is a MESS and whatever it was that happened in his universe was bad.
O! you find out that this universe has it... really good. Like, really good.
A! universe went pretty much the same, but instead of the Avengers being broken by the SHRA/ Accords, they united together and signed it, but ended up doing a ton of revising and made it work.
And the baddie from out of space? Easy.
And everyone lived as a result.
Wow, and doesn’t that fucking suck for O! (Name)? Seeing someone live your dream? That someone being literally you? A happier, healthier, and more well off version of you?
In the event that A! (Name) doesn’t have powers, O! (Name) is shocked, and decides not to use them. If A! (Name) can live without powers, then O! (Name) deserves to not have to use them since you’re so, so tired.
If A! (Name) does have similar powers, it’ll be significantly weaker than O! (Name) since A! (Name) hasn’t had to use it as extensively as O! (Name) did. A! (Name) will basically constantly ask O! (Name) to train him. Same thing goes for A! Wanda.
Unsure if O! (Name) ever will.
Anyways, that’s what I had in mind so far. If you have any thoughts or suggestions, let me know. I’m mildly buzzing with ideas right now.
(Inspired by some Stony fics I’ve read over the year(s).)

Sunrise?... •Part 3- M-Verse•
Fandom: Marvel
●○●This is a Tickle Fic Story●○●
-This story may also include Gore in some chapters-
(This chapter doesn't include tickling but Is advised if your reading the story)
-
It was late, very late, the young girl, whom had still been unconscious was left to lay in her hospital bed until she awoke. Steve stayed at her side, even though Tony and Bruce tried to convince him other wise.
Everyone in the compound seemed to be asleep, it was extremely early in the morning so it was expected.
You hesitantly opened your eyes, a bright light causing you to pull your head away and stir. Once your eyes became accustomed to the lights you looked around, you were in a hospital like room on a single bed with cream white sheets in a white hospital gown.
You sat up and saw next to your bed was a man, he made your eyes wide and afraid yet warm. Had soft blond hair, he wore a blue shirt with some
Grey tracksuit bottoms on. He was sleeping soundly on the chair, cute little snores coming from him. It made you smile, but quickly hide the smile once you realise you actually were smiling. Though it was cute. You began to have an arguement in your head about it.
"Hey" You snapped out of your thoughts to look at the person speaking with wide eyes. They were small, they had brown fluffy/curly hair and a pair of thin rectangular glasses on the bridge if their nose.
"Hello, I'm sorry if I awoke you or scared you" it seemed like a man, he stepped in the room whispering to make sure he didnt wake anyone. He seemed more nervous than even you were, and you couldn't remember anything so you were pretty shook.
"I- um.." You stuttered, you felt a warmth with his words.
"It's alright, would you like to come with me for a bit? I'm going on a morning walk, I came in to check on you both" The man seemed gentle, he wore a purple button up tucked into some light brown trousers.
You felt like you had nothing to do here, so you reluctantly agreed. You recognised it to a degree, and your gut told you he was safe so you believed it. His warm smile convinced you he was safe once you had agreed to join him. He wasn't pushy or persuasive, just warm and quiet. Something you needed.
"Oh yeah- your clothes, follow me" He whispered, mentioning you out of the room to follow him. You stepped out of the room and could see the outside world. The sky blackish blue, colours starting to fade with one another. Little lights covering the sky.
You followed the man, you were around just above his elbows in height, and you stayed behind him so he did look over his shoulder a few times.
"In here" he mentioned as he opened a door in a corridor full of them. You followed him inside, it was very clean and organized, the room were a moss green, the bed sheets were white while the pillows were purple- the same shade as his shirt. He had bookshelves and little plants at his window, a desk right below the plants that had a computer on and a pencil holder next to it. At the back of the room was a large closet and some draws next to it with a full length mirror and another door in which you believed to be the bathroom from the tiny gap you could see through the open door.
The room really was quite beautiful, the man went over to his wardrobs and pulled out a shirt and belt, the shirt was the same mess green as the walls, flannel that was seemingly one of the largest he had, the belt was a plan old black one but still seemed to match. He then grabbed some shoes, just trainers which may have been a little too big.
He then handed you these items and asked if it were easier if he left or you changed in the bathroom. Surprised of the affection and kindness you nodded with a slight smile- unable to hold back- and went into the bathroom and closed the door.
"See, so what you do is you put on the shirt, putting it up and it should reach down to your knees maybe? Then put the belt around your waist, do it up and it should hopefully look like a dress?" The kind man instructed from outside of the door. You followed the instructions and put the shoes on.
You looked in the mirror and seemed much different already. The shirt did look like a dress, and the belt matched perfectly. The slaves were left rolled down as it was quite cold and you had noticed bruising.
Exiting the bathroom you became a different person, by looks anyway. The man raised his eyebrows in surprise but smiled rising from his- as you assumed- bed. "You look wonderful"
A smile crept along your face, along with a light blush at the complement, unable to hold eye contact.
You both silently- but surprisingly not awkwardly- left and wondered outside. He brought you along a narrow pathway full of green bushes and plants. You both then came to a stop as he showed you the place he came to relax. It seemed to be the edge of the compound, it was beautiful though... surrounded by bushes and a little double garden swing painted in white and covered with little flowers crawling up the sides.
As you looked around you noticed a gap within the bushes, an archway that looked to be on a cliff or hill of some sort. Looking across the sea horizon.
The man went to go sit down on the swing, smiling to himself. He motioned for you to sit down as well, as you did he continued to watch through the bushes to the sea line for your vision to soon follow.
You then noticed something. The sky horizon it was- changing? The black turned to a dark blue turning lighter and inti more and more colours of oranges and pinks and reds. A large ball soon drifting over waking up the world from its darkened sleep.
Your eyes shone witb the colours. Locked in, unable to look away from the beautiful sight.
You hadn't noticed but the man sitting next to you had been watching you, as your eyes lit up and became engrossed in the colours, your pupils decreasing and letting the (y/e/c) colour stream out showing their beauty. You were so enchanted by these colours that came from a seemingly so dark place it was as though the man could feel the warmth seeping out of you.
He then too returned to the beautiful sight in which the sun evolved. After a couple of minutes the beauty ended and you drifted your view to the man. Wonder and colour in your eyes.
"What was that" you asked, pure childlike wonder through your words.
"A sunrise" The man replied, smiling at you. His smile seemed warm, but broken. Like he had been hurt before. You couldn't really explain it but the way your eyes connected for a split second told you everything about his pain and happiness.
"Thank you" you whispered, lightly under your breath but just enough so he could hear the wonder and greatness in the words. It made him smile and look away, nervous of what to say next.
"You're welcome"
You both sat there as you watched the sun float further and further into the sky. It felt so peaceful, and you were so grateful to have experienced it.
"Thank you" you whispered again unconsciously. It was just so beautiful. So wonderful.
The man chuckled slightly and turned to you with his warm smile. "I'm Bruce Banner" he remarked.
You turned away from the sky and looked at him, his figure, his name, "Bruce Banner?.." you questioned, thinking it though but ultimately deciding it was a lovely name. You grinned at him, "it's lovely. I'm... um" your smile died down for a moment as you tried to think. Your name? Your name? What was it?
"Y/n y/l/n, I know. We spoke yesterday. It's okay if you cant remember much more" Bruce reassured you. Grateful, you repeated yourself.
"Y/n y/l/n" you grinned glad to know it. And it also made sense to why you recognised him slightly, you had both already spoken.
"I really loved the sunrise thing. It's so beautiful. Does it happen often?" You asked, integeed by the colours and beauty.
The kind man laughed, "every morning, I'd be more than happy for you to join me. Only don't tell the others where this place is?" He asked politely, he seemed to really love this place. You didnt know who the others where, you soon would though. But you agreed. This would be your place.
After a while you both decided to head back. It turned out you had both been there for an hour and it would move be training time for everyone. Bruce began explaining who everyone was.
"So basically we're called the Avengers, it's off a plane Danvers used to fly I believe, though I'm unsure. We have Thor, he's a god, then theres Nat, she used to be a spy, theres Clint, he has perfect shot. Then theres me, Tony and Steve. We're the 'OG 6' as the press says" Bruce seemed quite intrigued telling you who everyone was. He explained most people to a degree, they're powers and what not.
You smiled at him, taking in the information. He opened the door for you and you both entered the building. Your new relationship didn't seem awkward, just warm.
"Ah so there they were" Another man said as he made himself a cup of coffee. He had a goaty, thin and cut like an oval, he had a strong build and his cheekbones stood out. He was wearing the sane colour shirt you had on- green moss with a V neckline and some usual black trousers. He walked over to you and was a few inches taller than Bruce and walked over to introduce himself.
"You're the kid from the mission ain't ya? Well Bruce really did something" he chuckled out stretching his hand. You shook it anxiously.
"I wont bite, Sam Wilson"
You nodded, unsure if you should introduce yourself so when you let go if his hand you looked down and mumbled your name.
"Shy?" Sam smirked. He then turned to bruce to offer him a coffee, in which he declined to which sam insisted he tell him why if he were just about to make himself one.
"You- just.." Bruce was in a sticky situation until a woman showed up and answered for him.
"You suck at making Coffee Sam" Sam gasped in offence, taking a step back into Bruce.
"I do not!"
The lady rolled her eyes and begun making the coffee instead. "Thanks Nat" Bruce exhaled relief and sat on a stool and you followed like a lost sheep.
"This the kid?" She asked. She was really quite beautiful in your opinion, red hair with white faded at the bottoms from where dye had been used but grown out. She wore a black suit with some type of belt over her cleavage, her hair tyed up into a messy plait.
You couldn't really keep your eyes off her, this place was incredible. The people were fascinating and kind in their own ways.
"Thank you" you whispered to Bruce, he turned his head and furrowed his brows.
"Hmm? What for?"
You stumbled on your words, you were so grateful and warm and you had this feeling inside you that made you feel all floaty and bubbly.
Instead of answering the question you just hugged him, hiding your face in his body.
You couldn't see the look on his face but the others would never forget it, pure love and happiness radiating off of the two of you. He hugged you back, fighting the tears in his eyes.
"You're welcome Y/n"
You sat down on a stool as Nat handed Bruce the coffee and handed you a cup of coloured liquid that you just stared at in confusion.
"Coffee for the Dr. And Juice for the kid" she smiled at you both with a laugh. Sam had noticed your face though and watched you in shock walking over to you.
"Uh, you're meant to drink it?-" he didnt really know what to say. He had never known someone to not know what juice was.
"Um.. sorry.. i- um. What is this?" You asked looking around at everyone after inspecting it. You were welcome with confused looks which made you feel a little bad.
"I can't believe you've never had juice?! Its delicious, if it gave me my energy I'd be drinking it" Sam boasted. You hesitantly picked it up and took a sip, it tasted delicious?
Your eyebrows raised in surprise which told everyone you were enjoying it as you took a few more sips.
"See! Delicious" Sam remarked confidently witch a hand on his hip. Just then you all heard someone bust in the room yelling-
"GUYS?! WHERE'S THE KID?!"

☕ + mcu fandom post endgame?
update: uhh not me realising u said fandom after writing a whole ass essay: this fandom has been so divisive since civil war tbh. i wish people would hold the writers a little bit more accountable for their writing than hating on fans who’s characters have done something they don’t like. it’s like, a lot of the uh things that happen in the mcu that people have a problem with is just a case of really bad writing. (see below hhuuhwhuwe)
prev answer: ahhhhhhhh. okay i have a couple of thoughts. so obvs, post endgame marvel is largely tv shows atm. i think....it’s a transparent business decision and a good one, mind you, for marvel lmao. i think there’s several reasons. for it. first and foremost, obvs the avengers have disbanded so there isn’t a new group to carry future movies. secondly, splitting into several tv shows not only allows marvel to launch its own exclusive streaming platform, but ensures more viewers have to watch the shows for the future movies to make sense, y’know?
in terms of my opinions about the shows, atm i’m most surprised by wandavision which i didn’t expect to enjoy. i was worried they wouldn’t pull off the humour and sitcoms but they did a great job acc. i think both shows however suffer from pacing issues, particularly in the last episode where they try to tie everything up and it kinda falls apart bc there are too many antagonists — tfatws particularly struggles with it, i mean what the hell was the 180 turn on john walker in the last ep i’m still so ???? about that whole mess. a bit worried for loki but it’s the only tv show that probably doesn’t impact the upcoming movies as in it’s own alternate timeline.
black widow is still such an insult imo. firstly i dont think its the right place to put in the mcu - ideally you’d want the black widow after catws bc that’s when nat leaked all the shield files and her own past, so it makes more sense for her story to be situated into the timeline at that moment. the whole movie feels redundant given the character’s death has already happened, it’s like...it doesn’t really matter what happens bc u know how she dies anyway, and the emotional impact of it is lessened bc of that. the thing is i get why the russos killed natasha — bc mcu!clint has been so destroyed by....everything idek....there would be so little emotional impact with his death. that does not however mean i don’t still hate it lmao. it truly makes me furious that female characters are so outweighed by male characters in the mcu that the russos managed to kill both the only female guardian, and the only female avenger.
endgame!steve’s arc.....i pretend i do not see it. i really do. i lowkey talked about it on my blog a lot when endgame came out, bc it was sooo regressive in my mind and since the russos set up the rules of time travel to mean things could not be changed without creating an alternate timeline (mind u they broke that anyways.), then what that means for steve is that he had to go back in the past and do nothing for the timeline to continue as it did. (meaning, ignoring his own frozen self, ignoring bucky’s capture by hydra and the soviets, etc, etc). a lot of people hate on aou, and rightfully so in many ways, but that doesn’t change the fact that there were some pretty significant arcs in that movie that people wanna ignore - one of which is that steve has made his peace with being in the present. the avengers are his family, bucky is there as well, peggy has married and has told him to move on, and even his flashback is a kind of horror sequence of pretending “it’s over, we can go home” while people die around him.
for me, i think i miss the early movies so much. the og iron man movie, and catfa and catws, as well as the avengers are my top favourites. i really appreciate those storylines the most bc they exist on their own. once we got into phase 4, and the tv shows, it felt like every movie was an advertisement for the next with the way they threw cameos in. the most obvious being civil war with the spiderman reboot. in fact civil war in general was so redundant when you realise infinity war and endgame are literally gonna be like, “yeah all of that that we just talked about? it no longer stands”, and i mean this both re: the accords, and re: bucky, bc at no point somehow in the following movies do we even get a MENTION of bucky from tony. you’d think with endgame you’d at least have one line. it could have been as simple as tony saying: “we’ll get them back cap, all of them. barnes included.”
send me a ☕️ and a topic and i’ll talk about how i feel about it
#listen i have many thoughts....im sorry this is so long IJWEJIWJIE god the mcu makes me annoyed <3 i pretend civil war does not exist.#answered#replies#robert-deniro

HAHAHAHAHAHAH EIGHTIES GHOST CLINT WOULD BE. THE BEST THING. i love tony’s reaction to steve lmao. and i was wondering who could be the humans who move in and may and peter are perfect for that! oh my god. now i’m invested in this dumb crossover.
(following up from here)
If it’s May & Peter Parker moving in, I think it’d be funniest if May can see the ghosts and Peter's just bewildered and freaked out when buttons get pressed on his laptop by an unseen force.
Another possibility!!! I thought about maybe a next generation of Avengers could move into the manor, like perhaps Carol, Sam, Vision, Wanda (+Pietro?), Peter and Rhodey (let’s fudge the timeline/age difference) so after YEARS of nothing to keep the ghost!OG busy, they suddenly get to watch a proper superhero team get together and they have... opinions. Lots of opinions.
As for their ghost abilities, I’m also thinking: Thor messes with the electricity (naturally), people that Natasha touches feel nervous/scared, and Tony can very carefully interact with certain kinds of tech.
Fun time thinking: Dr. Strange visits/joins the next gen Avengers and he’s like, Oh this place is SUPER haunted.
Sam: Wait the whole place is haunted? Not just the shield?
Carol: For the last time, your shield is NOT haunted by Captain--
Stephen: Actually--
Sam: TOLD YOU!
Stephen: But it’s the whole house. Not just the shield. Also, I think this may be why you haven’t been able to get rid of the malware in your computers.
Peter: I haven’t been getting any malware.
Tony: HAHA
The manor felt full before with just the living Avengers, but can they co-exist with the dead ones? They’ll have to. Also a sweet Tony&Rhodey reunion would be fun.
On a Steve/Tony front, because I am helpless that way, how about the first few months after Tony became a ghost he would deliberately avoid Steve at all costs, and Steve would be understanding until it gets annoying and he confronts Tony to get him out his stupor, and so begins the years of epic arguments/will-they-won’t-they all over Stark manor.
(Maybe Tony’s e-poltergeist abilities are stronger when he’s angry, so Steve’s quasi ghost ability is that he can rile Tony up SO MUCH that he can corrupt all the electronics in the room. Or even the whole building, on particularly effective days.)

My Thoughts on Endgame
I went to see Endgame last night and have had all day up in my office all alone to compile my thoughts and feelings, of which there are numerous, about the movie while it’s all still fresh. Major spoilers below the cut, so if you haven’t seen it, back away!
Warning: Super long post ahead.
First, I’d like to say I am a Tony/Nebula stan, wholeheartedly. Somehow, the Russos managed to lighten up a very dark reality where Tony and Nebula are floating listlessly in space and running out of oxygen. The dark mood is made a little lighter by a noticeably very thin Tony teaching Nebula about paper footballs, and her innocence of Earthly activities gave her a human depth that only made me fall even deeper in love with her character. And the way she pushes Tony’s (probably last) bag of food towards him, knowing he needs it more than she does. (Does she even eat? Do cyborgs eat?)
Second, Clint’s family disappearing was the first time I cried. Honestly, I didn’t have a dry eye the entire movie, but it progressively got harder and harder for me to not sob. We’ll get to that.
Carol popping out of literal space to come cart Tony’s ass home was admittedly a little cheesy, but I didn’t hate it. What I really loved was Tony’s reunion with both Steve and Pepper, and the fight that ensued, mostly on Tony’s end, was emotional and so very Tony that I still had a hard time keeping it together. And I’m really glad that the Russos didn’t just skip over Civil War in favor of uniting everyone to take down Thanos for good. And it showed how broken up over it Tony still was because we all know Tony does have a heart and Steve Rogers broke it.
An appropriate time skip 5 years into the future and Scott Fucking Lang and that goddamn rat busts out of the Quantum Realm only to discover almost his entire family has been dusted. Ouch. And once he finds his daughter, instead of moping and falling into a pit of depression and grief, he hauls ass to the compound to talk to the Avengers about time travel and undoing everything.
Here’s where Meg really loses her mind. The teams. The effort to get the stones back. Natasha Fucking Romanoff schooling the Science Bros in figuring out there are three stones in New York all at once. Fucking Captain Sassypants fighting his 2012 self and Mr. Stark Scott Lang (i’ve been corrected) perfectly coining the term “America’s Ass” and Steve just going with it. I can’t with these two, honestly. Steve swearing. Talk about sticking it to Joss Whedon for that pathetic little joke we all thought was funny until we knew better. That whole sequence was perfect, especially because it didn’t go off without a hitch. Which means Loki is still alive somewhere in another reality. Yahoo!
Thor. Poor alcoholic, out of shape, PTSD-stricken Thor. My baby angel. It hurt to see him so lost and broken, but Korg and Meike playing Fortnite about killed me. The balance of humor to sadness was utterly perfect through this whole movie and it was all comprised of jokes that made sense. The fat suit made me cry of laughter because it looks so goddamn unnatural on someone who’s as cut as Hemsworth, and Tony’s Lebowski dig was wholly appropriate.
This is where Meg realizes she is not going to be okay for the eightieth time. When Nat and Hawkeye are delegated to retrieve the Soul Stone, because we know while they don’t what needs to be done in order to get the stone. I had a feeling Nat might be one of the ones we lost, but I have to say I never saw it coming like this. I was inconsolable through the entire sequence as she and Clint are fighting over who’s going to be the one to die. I had my sweatshirt over my nose to stifle my sobbing and my boyfriend’s looking over at me wondering if I’m going to be okay. Y’all should see my eyes today, no lie.
And the fact that they played the same music for Nat that they did Gamora in IW was the knife through my heart followed by that heart-wrenching shot of her lying dead at the bottom. She’s gotten rid of the red in her ledger. Natasha, my beautiful, intelligent, bad-ass, super spy, we love you. So much.
Steve in mourning for Nat deserved more screen time than just a quick shot of him crying while Banner pitches a bench across the lake. Steve and Nat were one of the powerhouse friendships of the MCU, and this is one of the few shortcomings of Endgame. I wanted to see Steve angry, and heartbroken, something on par with Clint’s outburst that it should have been him. Steve and Nat were best friends, he deserved a little more screen time to mourn such a powerful relationship.
The epic battle scene that follows after this is nothing short of incredible. The entire theater erupted in cheers when Steve wielded Mjolnir like he was meant to, so at least Joss Whedon got some foreshadowing right! At first I thought it was lifting by itself but nope! Steve is worthy, and he knows he’s worthy. There’s an incredible theory out there that Mjolnir can detect someone’s perceived self-worth, and I fully believe that theory after watching this movie. And the little humor in there when Steve ends up with Stormbreaker and Thor gets Mjolnir and says, “No, no, give me that. You get the little one.” Kill me. The fact that Thor is doing all this badass fighting with a beer gut leaves me in stitches just thinking about it.
That epic entrance of all those who fell to the Snap emerging in a beautifully shot sequence gives me life, okay? It was perfect. I even looked to my boyfriend and said, “Where are the others? If it worked, where are they?” and BOOM! There they all are. Bucky with his long-ass hair is such a fucking look, I can’t even. AND STEVE FINALLY SAID THE THING. I swear the entire theater cheered again for this!! Also Rocket wearing Bucky’s goggles that he probably stole? Epic. Even if they aren’t his, but you can’t really convince me they’re not because they’re too similar. So Rocket hasn’t lost his penchant for stealing things.
Okoye, fierce queen, we see you taking out Corvus Glave all on your own. We also see that amazing, powerful female battle squad who cut through Thanos’s army like it was fucking tissue paper. Wanda, the Strongest Avenger (fight me on that, I dare you), taking on Thanos and stripping him of his armor like the fucking boss she is. Say it with me again: Strongest Avenger.
I also really really loved the game of Hot Potato with the gauntlet. Which brings us to...Mr. Anthony Edward Stark. The OG, the Big Guy. These next two paragraphs will be dedicated to him. The man who, 7 years ago, told us he would just “cut the wire” rather than lay his life on the line to save the other guy. When Dr. Strange said to Tony, “If I tell you what happens, it won’t happen,” I really, truly believed that Strange didn’t think Tony would go through with sacrificing himself in order to stop Thanos. He’d try to find another way. And yet I, along with a lot of others, knew he would do just that. Because Tony is nothing if not determined to prove everyone wrong about who they think he is, including Steve Rogers. Especially Steve Rogers.
Tony gets to interact with his father and learns that while Howard was incredibly flawed, he was still wholly dedicated to his family. Proven by his nervousness about fatherhood because all he’s ever known is technology, and he knows a child does not work the same way tech does. He’s terrified. And he hides, buries himself in his work because he doesn’t know what to do. But he loves his family, I know he does. A lot of other people know he does. I was a mess for that whole thing, too.
Tony’s funeral was absolutely perfect, a perfect sendoff to this legendary man who basically built the MCU. RDJ, we love you 3000. Thank you for giving us Iron Man. Thank you for carrying us through this journey of hilarity, sadness, darkness, anger, grief, all of it. I have a ton of emotions over RDJ’s exit from the MCU but I can’t properly formulate words.
ALSO: HARLEY WAS AT TONY’S FUNERAL. HE WAS THE LONE OLDER TEENAGER. CUE MORE CRYING FROM MEG.
And the final bit that seems to cause a lot of dissatisfaction: Steve’s final decision.
I personally loved it. I don’t like the misstep in jumping over Steve and Bucky’s bond, because that was a driving force for an entire movie, Russo brothers. So I feel a little cheated with their relationship taking a backseat to Sam receiving the shield to take up the Captain America mantle. But aside from that, Steve’s decision was very, very fitting. He’s given so much of himself to wars and other people that he deserves to be selfish. And maybe he had that quote in AOU that someone else came out of the ice, but A4 Steve knew he could have that life, and he chose it. Bucky knew, almost instantly, when Steve was about to bring the stones back, which was why he was so relaxed and calm when he didn’t come back.
Bucky, I feel, is relieved above all to see Steve reach old age, since he probably never expected him to, at least before he became Captain America. He’s lived his life as Cap, and now he gets to live another as the man who finally got the girl. I just wish we could have seen more of the bond between the two of them, unless they had some kind of heart to heart off-screen which, again, a waste of one of the quintessential relationships in Steve Rogers’s life.
And Bucky and Sam having some kind of mutual understanding, I know for a fact there was some reconciliation in the Soul World that we may or may not get to see in the new series coming out. I would love to see the two of them struggle with coming to grips with the fact that they were dead, and came back because their friends put themselves on the line at an incredible risk to try and bring everyone back. I think they could really create a bond similar to Steve and Bucky’s that was built on being “men out of time” and instead create a bond that’s men who survived the Snap and now are living a life without Steve Rogers (assuming he won’t take up the mantle again and will succumb to old age, like he goddamn deserves). Bucky is all for Sam taking that mantle, and that second of understanding between the two of them sent me off into another cry fest because I really love their dynamic, and Seb and Mackie both just have amazing on-screen chemistry. I am so excited to see what they bring to the new series coming out.
I would also like to say that while I was very emotional over Steve hearing Sam’s voice over comms saying, “On your left,” I really feel that Bucky should’ve had something. That’s really where Endgame’s biggest shortcoming is. They’ve built up the relationship between Bucky and Steve through CTFA, CATWS, and CACW, especially Civil War, and all you’re going to give them is four minutes of screen time together? Outta here with that. You dedicated an entire movie to Steve going to war for Bucky and y’all are gonna disrespect them like that? Even not shipping Stucky romantically, I can see the loving bond between the two of them that’s held up for 8 years. They deserved more than just a one-off line from CATFA, though that really set me off on another crying spree. I’m really not joking when I said there wasn’t a minute of that movie that I was dry-eyed.
Overall, I give this movie a 10/10. For what it was meant to be, it was everything I had expected and so much more. This movie made me roar with laughter, broke my heart more than once, and gave me an overall feeling of closure all at once. I am forever grateful to the cast, the crew, and the amazing characters created. The incredible late Stan Lee with his final cameo, to which the theater, again, erupted in applause. I’m just so overwhelmed by the work everyone at Marvel has put in to these characters and this world to give us these amazing stories. I’m tearing up as I write this because this is the end of an era for a lot of people who grew up with Iron Man, Hulk, Cap, Thor.... Black Widow. I just want to extend the biggest of thank yous to all of those people who made this world possible and brought so many people together.

SPOILER REVIEW, ALL SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT
Okay spoiler review:
I. Fucking. Loved. It.
I will address the complaints of certain things as they come up.
Things I think could have been improved:
Including the scene that was the mid-credits of CM. A lot of people didn’t go to see it so their context was off when she saved Tony and Nebula.
Almost no one knew who Harley was, now that he was all grown up, during Tony’s funeral. Most people just said “who the hell is that?”. Give him a crushed Dora watch that he is holding/looking at and everyone will know.
The gay character was Joe Russo sitting in Steve’s support group. STFU that isn’t even a side character.
I wish one more OG6 Avenger had died. I figured one of each pair would (and I was right for 2) but I didn’t think four would survive. Idk if I’d choose Thor or Professor Hulk but one of them.
That’s it.
Okay, now to things I fucking loved:
That cold opening. Clint having a good time and then his whole family just…. goes. Then when they reverse the snap his phone ringing and it being his wife was an amazing way to finish the arc. My lord.
Karen Gillan deserves an Oscar for her acting. Holy shit. Confused killer robot playing games with Tony and then making sure he is okay and then also having to re-play evil Nebula from before. God, amazing.
The Nebula plot was one of the best parts of the movie. It shows how even if you make time travel easy and clean there is also a possibility of something going wrong. The fact that her past consciousness blended with her current when she went back in time was an amazing detail/idea that could only work with her. It was just so fucking fabulous.
Them going and killing Thanos literally 10 minutes in.
Natasha running point on all the Avengers stuff - keeping tabs on Rocket, Rhodey, Carol and others as they try to at least help based on what’s going on.
Oh my god, Tony losing it at all the Avengers. Amazing 10/10. “You promised!” “Liar!”. Ripping our the arc reactor and just shoving it into Steve’s hands. Fantastic. Tony deserved that moment.
The rat, the true hero
Scott/Cassie reunion after Scott finding his own name on the list of the Vanished. He was so relieved, his daughter was so relieved. Movie deities have blessed us.
Scott (while distracted by a sandwich), explaining time travel was hilarious and fantastic. He admits he doesn’t know enough.
I liked what they did with Thor. He lost absolutely everything… his entire family, all of his friends, at least 3/4 of his people. To have be a drunk who gave up and is now fat was fantastic. If anyone felt like they failed, it truly was him. He spent two years just looking for stones while the rest fought in a parking lot.
Morgan Stark!!! I better see more of her in future movies, oh my god. Adorable. Smart. Sassy. I love you 3000.
When Tony looked at that photo of Peter, I knew that was what changed his mind. Cause he knows he needs to try.
When Tony nearly falls backwards in shock at the time travel simulation working I nearly shrieked. And then of course Morgan was there. “Shit!” “No, no. (something I forget) shit.” “Shit.” “No, that’s (Pepper’s?) word.”
Pepper letting him know that its alright if he goes and tries to help. That she understands that he won’t rest if he doesn’t.
I really liked how they did the time travel stuff. It was careful and still a mess. (I’ll get to the Loki part last)
Cap V Cap, hilarious and AMAZING
Rocket and Thor sneaking past Loki while he sits in his cell. Genius. Thor knows that if Loki finds out future Thor is there, Loki is going to gladly time travel whether they like it or not.
Thor being unable to do the mission correctly because he sees his mother. That conversation with his mother where she knew it was future him. “I was raised by witches” (this will tie in to my Loki thing later)
Peter Quill getting knocked out.
Clint and Natasha. We all knew only one of them was getting out of there. Them actually fighting over who should go was amazing. I know there are complaints about how Natasha deserved better and hm, they killed the only OG female avenger. No, it was amazing. Natasha, for the first time her life, truly knew what she wanted. She was grateful for Clint til the very end. (This also ties to her dream, but I’ll explain all the AOU dreams at the end)
Loki just yeeting himself the fuck out of there when Ant-Man gave past stark a heart attack was hilarious, in-character for 2012 Loki, and VERY IMPORTANT.
Going back in time even further and Tony talking to his father, Steve seeing Peggy. It was a great section. I loved it. Tony getting closure, Steve realizing what he wants when all of this is over.
All of them losing their collective shit in different ways over Natasha death; Clint telling Thor off about how it can’t be undone, so stop being an asshole. Amazing.
Arguing over the gauntlet. Drunk Thor trying to say he can use it. Hulk using it. Thor yelling to take it off, Steve asking if Hulk is okay (this is very similar to the CA:TFA moment where Steve is getting beefed up). Amazing.
From here on, everything was fantastic, every bit. The compound being destroyed, the heroes trying to stop Thanos and all that; Steve using Thor’s hammer after his shield is half broken (and he saves Thor by using the hammer);
“Hey cap, can you hear me?” While Cap is staring down Thanos. “Uh…” “Cap, it’s me Sam. On your left” AND THEN THE PORTALS OPEN AND HOLY FUCKING SHIT. FIRST THREE ARE OKOYE, SHURI AND T’CHALLA. People were screeching in my theater, shouting “Wakanda forever”.
All those portals opening up was so hot. And then when Dr Strange opened one up and the Guardians came out that was cool and all, but Spiderman made everyone yell and holler and hoot.
VALKYRIE ON A PEGASUS HOT DAMN
Hot gauntlet instead of hot potato.
RESCUE!!! Pepper in armor, lord almighty. Amazing.
Danvers destroying all of his ships. 10/10. Like she didn’t show up and save the day, she came to help. Cap - “Danvers, we need an assist down here” once she finishes destroying the ships.
Peter getting hella beat up was reasonable. CM coming over him and he says “Oh, Im Peter Parker” “Hi, Peter Parker, you got something for me?” He hands her the gauntlet. And then asks how she is going to get through all of that. “She has help” - Okoye. All the female Avengers surround him to protect my smol child and then charge at Thanos’ army. Please love oh love, that was fantastic.
“I don’t even know you” “You will”. I swooned. Amazing, amazing, amazing. Go Scarlet Witch
When they are going at Thanos and trying to get the gauntlet off, wow. That scene was crazy good. The main 3 trying, Carol trying (and then again and when Thanos headbutts her she doesn’t move, amazing).
Tony switching the stones without Thanos noticing.
“I am inevitable” says Thanos. He snaps. It fails; he can’t create a new universe where no one remembers what they lost, only what they gained.
Tony, holds up his version of the gauntlet, “And I… am…. Iron Man.” Snap. Whole theater erupted.
All Thanos’ stuff is gone, as is he. I would have preferred Nebula to cut his head off during one of her two opportunities, but I was satisfied with this.
Rhodey finding Tony and just smiling at him. People complained that Rhodey should of said something, but Rhodey is his best friend, the person who is still alive he’s known the longest. Rhodey understands. Rhodey knows he is dying and knows no words are going to help it or stop it. He’s an Air Force colonel for crying out loud, he gets death. So he just stays there for him.
Peter begging Tony to get up and telling him “We won, we won Mr. Stark” was so heartbreaking. I loved it, but it hurt.
Pepper telling him “It’s alright, you can rest now”. That shit HURTED. Great completion of the “but will you be able to rest?”
Tony’s funeral was possibly the best scene to show just how much he meant to everyone. “Proof that Tony Stark has a heart” laying on a bed of flowers, floating in the lake in the backyard of where he and Pepper and Morgan have been living.
Wanda and Clint moment - “I just wish there was a way I could tell her we won.” “She knows, they both do” I loved it so so much.
Morgan asking for a cheeseburger and Happy getting all teary eyed about how her father loved cheeseburgers “I’m going to buy you all the cheeseburgers you want”, bruh, I was in tears.
Tony Stark’s voice over while everything else is happening - people going back to their lives: T’Challa, Shuri and Ramonda looking over Wakanda; Cassie cuddling Scott while Hope is there too; Peter and Ned seeing each other at school; Clint going home; all these different little moments while he talks, only for it to end as a video recording he made before he left to fix everything. “I love you 3000” is what he ends it with.
Thor handing over Asgard to Valkyrie while he goes with the Guardians. I loved it. He acknowledge he wasn’t fit to be king but could still do good.
Steve returning all the stones. When he and Bucky said goodbye (“It’s only five seconds”) they both knew what he was about to do. “Don’t do anything stupid til I get back.” Bucky smiles, “How can I? You’re taking all the stupid with you.”
Sam and Professor Hulk freaking out that he isn’t back, only for Bucky to point out Steve sitting on a bench near where they are. He’s old now. He hands the shield off to Sam. I loved it. There is no way Bucky and Steve didn’t have a conversation about Steve staying in the past and who he would pass the mantel on to. (this also means Bucky probably told Steve’s ass that trying to save him/prevent HYDRA would have created a disastrous effect. “I’ll be alright, punk” or something like that).
Seeing Steve with Peggy made me really, really happy. I understand the complaints but it was a beautiful moment and such an amazing way to end the movie. If you watched Agent Carter you know she struggled getting over Steve. While she did eventually, she never stopped thinking about him. I mean, in the 70s, his photo was still on her desk!
Things I forgot to add originally:
“So you can get another haircut?” (or something like that); AKA Rocket making fun of Carol’s lesbian cut.
Professor Hulk. Hilarious, amazing, and a great idea.
“That’s America’s Ass” oh my god, Tony Steve and Scott. Best comedy trio.
Extended NY 2012 scenes... including Loki pretending to be Steve, amazing
the Budapest reference while Nat and Clint were flying off to Vormir. I loved it.
Thor suddenly in his old costume with braids in his beard and hair when they go to beat up Thanos when he attacks the compound. Crowd went crazy.
EVEN MORE I forgot:
The OG shot from the OG Avengers in NY. Hot hot hot. The crowd was losing it. I was losing it.
“Hail Hydra” cap you sneaky bastard.
Scott’s storage unit is labeled 616. MCU really loves hiding 616 in plain sight.
—
Okay, now for the AoU dreams.
They all came true.
Thor: “See where your power leads us Odinson” and Heimdall talks about how they are going to be lead to Hel. More than half of Asgard was destroyed by Hela.
Steve: The movie ends with him dancing with Peggy.
Natasha: hers was more of a flashback, but still came true. “I have no place in this world”. Her dream sequence showed the horrors she endured and how she tried to seem weak so she wouldn’t have to do certain things. It shows how she has always felt like she has no home, it showed faceless children with no identity. Her dying was her finding her place in the world.
Tony: Everyone is dead except him. “And the worst part is you weren’t”. He reversed his dream. It came true (it wasn’t the OG6 who died) but then he spun it around.
—
other time travel stuff:
At one point there are two Steve’s since he decided to go back. At first I was like, thats gonna create some problems but the more I think the more I realize it doesn’t. Peggy is smart, genius and an amazing agent and could have easily found a way to ‘hide’ Captain America.
Also, most things stopped functioning after the decimation. A lot of schools were shut down most likely. So Ned and Peter to see each other again at school was reasonable.
__
Loki:
I LOVE WHAT THEY DID WITH LOKI. In the movie it shows at least two iterations of him alive: 2012 Loki who gets the fuck out of there; 2013 Loki stuck in prison. Both are alive by the end of the movie (2013 didn’t disappear even though 2012 noped out of there). Even though Steve put the stones back to make the timelines clean again, they show that even though one version of Loki left New York, he still ended up in Asgard’s prison. So one is out there with the Space Stone, and one is posing as Odin. Then, when time catches up, it’s unlikely Ragnarok Loki will just die spontaneously. Regardless, there are at least two Lokis still existing within the current timeline. He’s smarter than letting himself get stuck once he escapes, but he still gets locked up.
If there are two versions of Steve living for a time, why not two or more Lokis?
This brings me back to Frigga. She knew it was definitely Thor from the future almost immediately. Loki is much like his mother and knows that time travel is possible and that people have crossed timelines. There is no reason for him to not be out there in the universe, several different versions of him working at once. And there is no reason for him to not know that.
“The sun will shine on us again”, something tells me Loki knew some version of himself would survive. Whether it be 2012, 2013, or even now 2018, he knew he was going to make it… or he already knew he had.
I don’t know what is going to happen. I’m sure the Russos wrote the Loki getting out of there thing as a joke/plot inconvenience but Feige is smarter than that. He knows what that opened up, and honestly, that might be why the Loki show isn’t going to come out for a while. Imagine having a great idea only for the most recent movie to come along and have multiple Loki’s still alive.
Even better, I hope he has a small scene in the next Guardians movie. Thor could try to sway them towards looking for his brother and maybe they do - but it’s NY Loki.

finally got around to watching Endgame and I hated literally every narrative choice they made :D
don’t get me wrong, there were some parts that were fun! but the best part was the time heist in the middle and the gauntlet run where everyone got their 15 seconds of focus
(could that be because they let the characters just have fun for a change??)
but the actual narrative they told? fucking awful
I hated every single one of the og avengers endings
I even hated that they undid the snap but didn’t reset the world to the way it was 5 years earlier - as much as I loved Morgan Stark it just made no fucking sense to let all these people mourn and move on for 5 years and surprise! now everyone is back! because that won’t cause massive fucking problems for the entire world (I’m not even talking resources, I’m talking you moved on and got remarried and had a child but now your spouse came back, or YOU were the parent and find that your child has died in the meantime because you weren’t there, didn’t think of that did you fucking idiot writers)
like I’m glad Spiderman Far From Home is gonna be dealing with the aftermath a bit ... but also feel like it shouldn’t have to?
also, not gonna lie, I was pissed that Tony, who now had a family, died and Steve got to fuck off back to the past to interrupt Peggy’s life and be happy - either they both should have died or neither of them should have
and Nat should NOT have been the one to sacrifice herself, MCU Clint has been a fucking mess of a character from the start and I would give zero fucks if he died - the writers talked about how they were tossing up between them and one of their script editors or whoever was like ‘you can’t take this away from her!’ but like FUCK THAT - I am sick as fuck of the bullshit idea that death is somehow redemption (also Clint’s family is the fucking worst and Joss Whedon should be retroactively snapped so that dumb nonsense never happened and ruined Clint’s character in the MCU)
so yeah, if anyone else wants to come and rant about how much the movie fucking sucked in the narrative department (while, again, being a great visual spectacle with funny jokes, great ideas and lots of fun moments!) feel free to message me

my endgame review that no one asked for
first of ALL, i prefer characters and relationships over plot. thats just a personal preference, but i feel like when you’re doing a big team up movie like this, you should at least try to explore the relationships and dynamics within the team at least a little bit. i blame whedon for not setting it up correctly, but the russos had a big role in it too. endgame is being “praised” for having the best payoff of this whole chapter of the mcu, but there was no payoff??? like most of the avengers were completely ooc to the point where it felt like i was watching an SNL parody of it. i think the russos wanted this big movie with this convoluted plot and “epic” scenes, but they missed the mark completely.
1. the first part of the movie felt so rushed, like nothing had actually occurred. i know that the fans already know what happened, but it genuinely had no emotion to it at all and it just fell so flat for me. like, i get that they wanted to drop this movie in the middle of all the action, but there was no time to process anything. i wanted to see all the avengers together talking about what they had lost, what they could’ve done better, what the next step is, etc. there was none of that? they just immediately went to kill thanos and i was like okay??? that’s it?? i also hated the time jump because, again, it threw the pacing off course.
2. the plot! made! no! sense! i know im a dumbass bitch but i had no idea what the fuck was going on and they added in so many dumb jokes so that everything was just super confusing. their explanation of time doesn’t make any sense considering it’s supposed to be linear, right? i have no idea why they even did the time travel thing when they could’ve done alternate realities or something with all 6 og avengers finding a stone each in the present time. the whole thing with nebula was just very convoluted and im still not even sure what happened??
3. the snap or whatever felt so anticlimactic. the big battle scene was good, but i feel like it was weirdly done idk lol. can someone please explain why thanos had to get a special ass gauntlet made from dying stars or whatever to properly wield it and yet in this movie, they made a gauntlet out of what? the iron man suit? im lost
4. this has been pointed out a million times but the acting couldve been a lot better if they had full knowledge of what was going on. i think a big reason why i dislike this movie so much is because it felt so different from the past movies. obviously this is supposed to be darker in tone, but we’ve literally seen all 6 avengers go through grief and tragedy and their acting was wayyyy better in those past scenes than in this movie.
5. the characters and the writing.... literally what 2012 wattpad did they base this off of huh. they wasted their time making jokes when they could’ve paced the movie wayyyy better and actually gotten to see the toll that thanos had taken on them. like,,,, the death was barely touched upon? they didn’t let steve mention bucky or steve. they made a big joke out of thor and basically diminished his friendship w bruce & valkyrie and he never mentioned loki or heimdall either. natasha could’ve mourned over losing sam and fury (like how we saw in catws). clint??? what the fuck was he doing??? and bruce? a mess!!!! this was the worst way to end the og avengers story because it didn’t even have any depth or emotion or payoff in anyway which i will probably complain more in detail about later.
6. i really wish someone else had wrote and directed this because it was such a big disappointment and did not live up to the hype at all. i never thought i would say this, but this actually kicks age of ultron out of the running for worst avengers movie.
#endgame spoilers#do yall get me like... i cant believe this was it...#i felt like i was having an avengers fever dream in 2012

Pre-Endgame Thoughts
I saw this thing saying only 2 of the OG Avengers survive, now let's take that in...
If Natasha were to die, it wouldn't make any sense. We're getting a Black Widow solo movie, why would she be killed off in Endgame? Even though Marvel could do that, it would be such an attack?!?! Like, understandably it is set before Iron Man 2, but to have that released after her dying in Endgame just doesn't work. But her staying alive doesn't either? What purpose would she serve? I like to think she trains new Avengers to bring more justice and peace to Earth but that's just me.
If Clint dies...how would his TV show work? Isn't he supposed to star in it along side Kate Bishop? Would it be pre-Endgame? Because if so, it'd legit be him teaching his kids how to shoot, drinking too much coffee and finding ways to sneak away from his house arrest.
Bruce dying, I don't want to even think about that. He's too damn previous and smol, it'd tear me to pieces.
This leaves Tony, Thor & Steve, who are the only ones who have a death with sense behind it. Though, I'd be heartbroken and just a mess if they were to die.
Let's begin with Steve. It would wrap up his character arc. He's basically lost so much and all he has is Bucky. To die saving/reviving him after the numerous times that Bucky has "died" would be so heart wrenching and I'm tearing up thinking about it. Bucky, in a way, could carry on Steve's legacy and what not. If Steve does die, I do hope that Chris Evans directs Falcon & Winter Soldier. Not only will Evans be able to direct (apparently he wants to do that) it'll be extra Marvel content the fans would die for.
Thor. The guy has basically lost everything. His mother, girlfriend, father, hammer, eye, sister, Asgard & his brother. Though I don't think that Loki is dead (I guess we'll see in Endgame?) it'll be heartbreaking to find Thor dead. And this time it's Loki mourning over Thor instead of the other way around.
Tony Stark. Our genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist. Beginner of this beloved MCU. I know some people have said they'd be fine if Tony died, but there is no way I would be. As sad as it is, he'll probably die. I wouldn't be entirely surprised, but certainly devastated. Killing him would just strip away majority of the fandom, it's for sadness points, for tears that'll surely be shed while watching the movie (if you don't cry during that scene you suck). It's just to be cruel to the fans, y'know, the ones that literally pay to see these films? They want to take away the fact we won't see Tony have his wedding, his kids, to grow old, watch Peter graduate , to have grandkids, they want to strip that away from us. Those shits.
We can only hope that them dying is bullshit

extensive avengers: endgame spoilers under the cut, literally most big tony moments are gonna be mentioned!!!
so. tony and nebula? really really sweet, they start the movie (after the intro w/ clint) off with tony teaching nebula some kinda game and it’s so precious, also how tony is all holding out the last of their rations to her and she just pushed it back over to him so he eats it;; them fixing the ship together and nebula fixing tony and after he’s finished his message to pepper he loses conciousness and she puts him in the seat all careful, yeah. and then carol shows up and he wakes up bc bright ofc and she gets them back to the compound!!!! i love my girl ;;;;
so right, at the compound? tony and nebula are slowly making their way out the ship and steve is there first and shit, the first words tony says when he’s back on earth are ‘i lost a kid’ like 😭😭😭
god and then when he snaps at everyone like ‘i saw this coming ten years ago but nobody would listen’ and tore cap a new one, god bless him i have never been more in love;;;
and then it’s all ‘5 years later’ and tony steps out of a cabin (at this point writing this i burst into tears again my heart hurts so bad) and walks over to a tent and calls for someone to come eat and out comes a lil baby girl (holding the rescue helmet!!!!) and he and his precious little daughter morgan have the cutest thing i swear, cap nat and bruce show up then to talk about time travel and tony is all like ‘no, i’ve got something precious here and i’m not risking it’ all while holding morgan and i’m just. yeah. and then when he puts morgan to bed the whole thing when she says ‘i love you three thousand’ and he’s like ‘wow. three thousand. amazing. if you don’t go to sleep rn i’m gonna burn all your toys goodnight love u’ and then walks out? amazing. all to then go downstairs to pepper and be like ‘morgan said she loves me three thousand, you were at what, 600 last?’ precious;;;;;; and then he figured the time travel thing out and got his ass over to the compound and was all like ‘let me guess, you got old and then young’ and steve had to be like ‘yeah we couldn’t manage it without you’
the whole going back in time to get the stones thing was happening and idk there wasn’t much about going back to 2012 but then he and steve had to go even further back and tony talked to his father (calling himself howard potts in his haste to come up with a name aw bless him;;) and it was. a lot.
also can i just say that seeing tony really malnourished and so so so tiny at the beginning at the movie was so heartbreaking but then after the 5 years he looked so good, fatherhood is such a look on him 😊😊
so then they got all the stones and he made the glove for it yadda yadda the hulk snapped and got everyone back but due to something with nebula thanos knew so he time travelled to after the hulk snapped and attacked the compound so then a big fight with first just the original avengers was happening but then a ton of portals opened and all the magic users got literally everyone somehow involved, everyone who vanished in the snap and all the wakandan people and the asgardians (valkyrie djasyflda yes!!! also pepper as rescue!!!!! the guy i went to see it with was looking forward to this the most so we were both like :O at each other lol) and the guardians on the battle field and that was the most epic scene ever!!!!!
and when peter made it through (crying again at this point, though it it about 5 hours after the last time i cried cause i took a nap inbetween writing this lmao) he swung up to tony and tony just looked at him while peter was rambling about ‘mr stark remember when we were in space and we vanished but then suddenly i was back and dr strange was there and- mr stark?’ at which point tony hugged peter, his son that he’s been missing every day for 5 fucking years and is the reason he sat himself down to work on the time travel thing after he looked at the picture of him and peter with the internship paper so. and then peter was like ‘mr. stark. this is nice’ while being hugged and i got so fucking happy bc heck yes this is our new anthem but then. oh but then.
fighting and fighting and stuff happened (instant kill mode??? a look) and at some point tony looked at stephen and was like ‘pls tell me this is the one’ but stephen was like ‘if i tell you it could mess with everything’ and then some time later stephen and tony were looking at each other again and stephen just lifted one finger to signal that yes, this is it. which hardened tonys resolve and i don’t remember what happened inbetween but basically tony thor and steve were fighting thanos after carol already beat the shit out of him to get a hold of the glove but thanos did and he was about to snap but tony touched him at least and it transferred the stones from the glove to his iron man armor so thanos went to snap and was like ‘i am inevitable’ and snapped but it didn’t work bc tony had the stones so tony looked him and went ‘i am. iron man’ and snapped to erase all of thanos’ army and followers (crying fit number three at this point) and tony’s body couldn’t handle it all so he fell to the ground and rhodey was the first to get to him and then there was peter all like ‘mr stark please, please don’t go’ or something and as pepper got there he called him tony 😭😭 and pepper was all ‘it’s okay. you can rest now’ and tony fucking died. and i cried so much in the cinema but the scene was really quiet so i had to try to not just burst out sobbing which was so fucking hard but i managed. like i knew there was a very big possibility of it happening but i still wasn’t prepared and it hurts so much that’s the love of my life 😭😭 and while they showed the funeral and all the people paying their respects, which was literally everyone (including harley!!!) watched while pepper let the ‘proof that tony stark has a heart’ plaque float away over the lake at their house, they played the recording tony made for everyone the night before it all happened just in case and at the end of that they showed his projection walk over to morgan and tell her he loved her three thousand. god it hurts people. ah fuck.
anway they then panned to morgan and happy sitting on a bench on the porch and happy was all like ‘you okay, you hungry’ to which morgan replied ‘yeah i am’ and happy asked what she wanted and she said ‘a cheeseburger’ and if you remember that’s the first thing tony said after coming back from afghanistan so fucking thanks guys, i’m good.
ugh idk i think the last thing was just getting the stones back to where they were when they took them which steve did and he also said fuck it and apparently lived a happy life with peggy so when he came back a few seconds after they sent him back he was all old and gave sam the shield. was that all for actual movie? oh wait oops they also showed peter going back to school and seeing ned again and he looked bad and that killed all my excitement for far from home lmao i’m not ready to watch that especially if i can’t be sure they actually deal with tony dying in it.
yeah i guess that was it for movie but the credits were so fucking pretty too ugh :(( for the og avengers they had really long clips where first they showed the actors signature while the actors name faded in and in the background was a montage of character moments and rdj was the last one to show of course :((
and yeah, instead of an end credit scene they showed the marvel logo and playing the sound of someone molding metal over it, so probably tony working on his first iron man armor i’d bet bc that would hurt the most
so that’s it and now i’m sobbing bc i miss him so much already i can’t believe that’s just it now. no more tony.
and i am seriously mourning him which is just so ridiculous but goddamn it hurts so much
what also really sucks is that tony in endgame is my favourite. his character has evolved so much and you can see it so clearly in this movie and i think that’s what makes it hurt so much? bc here’s this character a lot of people have been following for years and years and you see him in endgame and then you think back to the first iron man and think ‘is this really the same person?’ and i for one am so in awe of his journey and how far he’s come and it hurts that he finally had the son he’d been mourning for half a decade back only to then die himself after only just as much time with his daughter
