WxS & polysho hc's! (Some of these may be just me self-projecting, you may never know~)
Tsukasa has an unreal amount of part-time jobs and side hustles. When he ever gets sick, it becomes like the peppa pig episode where Miss Rabbit was unavailable and everyone had to scramble to cover for her. They're all left wondering the next day how is he able to pull that off.
Rui is fascinated by psychology, to the point he analyses every thought and pattern that appears in his brain. When he began to feel attracted towards his troupe, he just went "That's cool. I think i'm experiencing Romantic Attraction. I've always wondered what that felt like" and moved on with his day.
WxS have an unreal amount of bits and inside jokes only they understand. When Saki peeks over at Tsukasa's phone, she can't understand shit because it's just the word "albatross" or something like that being sent over and over in the WxS groupchat and everyone acts like this is funny.
Emu has absolutely 0 reaction to watching horror movies. Her partners, however, do not, so she rarely watches them.
Tsukasa is very concious of the health and well-being of his troupe members. He keeps reminding them to drink water, eat healthy and sleep well. He also carries a first-aid kit, a spare pair of noise-cancelling headphones for Nene and whatever else they might need with him.
Rui has gifted kid syndrome. He has never studied for a test in his life, not necessarily because he doesn't need to, but because he never learned how.
Nene has never drunk anything apart from water, juice, tea and coffee. No cola, pepsi, fanta, sprite, 7up or anything like that. She never felt the need to when she was younger, and now just enjoys how freaked out people are by this.
not from WxS, but i just know Ena has gone on a giant angry rant about the existence of AI art in vc more than once.
Adding to this, Emu was terrified when she first heard about generative AI. She still gets nightmares about it sometimes.
Rui tried drugs once out of curiosity. 'For science', he said, he just wanted to know how does it feel. Tsukasa lost his shit when he learned about it, and Rui never did it again.

Rick Braun:Life in the Fast Lane
BY TOM ERDMANN
Trumpeter, producer, composer, and arranger Rick Braun is an excellent example of a musician who has quietly worked hard for many years and suddenly is recognized as an “overnight success.” His album with saxophonist Boney James, Shake It Up, was number one on the Billboard magazine Contemporary Jazz Album chart for 11 weeks and has moved around in the top five positions for over a year. The first single from that album, Grazin’ In The Grass, hit number one and stayed there for nine weeks, crossed over to the R&B charts, and was named Best Song of the Year at the 2001 Oasis Smooth Jazz Awards. Braun’s awards also include the 2001 Oasis Smooth Jazz Award of or Best Brass Player and Best Collaboration with Boney James.
Born in Allentown, Pennsylvania on July 6, 1955, Braun took up the trumpet in third grade, studied with Philadelphia Orchestra trumpeter Seymour Rosenfeld, graduated from Dieruff High School in Allentown, and enrolled at he Eastman School of Music. While at Eastman, he was a founding member of the fusion group called Auracle. Their distinctive style was quickly imitated by a number of jazz groups and their recordings became mainstays on jazz radiostations through out the northeast. Braun’s first song to hit the Billboard Top 20 was Here With Me, written for the rock band REO Speedwagon. As a trumpet sideman, Braun has worked and toured with an incredible list of musicians including Tina Turner , Rod Stewart, Glenn Frey, Natalie Cole, Rickie Lee Jones, and War.
Braun released his first solo album in 1992. It was, however, his time with Sade on her Love Deluxe tour that helped him focus on a unique style. Braun’s second recording, Night Walk, has been likened to “listening to Sade instrumentally.” Braun’s big break came on the heel s of his third recording, Beat Street, which spent 13 weeks as the number one contemporary jazz album in Billboard magazine, breaking a record previously held by K enny G . Beat S treet was eventually named the Smooth Jazz Record of the Year. It also won the G avin Artist of the Year and Album of the Year awards in 1996. Braun’s next release, Body and Soul, earned him another Gavin Artist of the Year award. His latest release, Kisses in the Rain, has also hit number one on the Billboard chart.
Braun has never been busier or happier than he is right now. Offered more playing and producing opportunities than he can possibly accept, he is also in demand as a jazz musician performing in clubs throughout the Los Angeles area. Braun is truly enjoying his time in the fast lane and doesn’t show any signs of slowing down.
TE: Why did you choose to play the trumpet?
RB: One of my older brothers played the trumpet and because of that there was a trumpet in a closet at home when I was eight years old. As a kid I was into everything, including the closet. I found the trumpet, put the mouthpiece in, and found that I could get a sound out of it. I think everybody who has ever played the trumpet knows that some people can get a sound out of the instrument, and some people can’t. It’ s not an instrument like the guitar where you just put your hand over the strings and a sound comes out. My first choice had been drums, but I grew up in a small row home in Allentown and I’m one of six kids, so as you can imagine, I was gently steered away from the drums. What my parents didn’t know was that the trumpet was the next most annoying instrument for a beginner to play. I didn’t give up much in the way of offense (laughing); I was still able to annoy my siblings!
TE: Did you come from a musical family?
RB: My mother, who is 84 now, is still very musical and has a good ear. She’s a self taught banjo player.
She played a four-string banjo, the really old kind, and learned piano by herself. On her side of the family my grandfather was a country fiddle player, my grandmother played the piano, and one of my uncles played the cornet. All of the musical talent was on my mother’s side. When my dad tried to sing to us kids at night we would pretend we were asleep so we wouldn’t have to listen to him. The only song he knew was the Notre Dame Fight Song, and he didn’t even like Notre Dame!
TE: I have read that you studied with Seymour Rosenfeld. I had the pleasure of interviewing him and was impressed by what a nice man he is.
RB: You know, he really is.
TE: When did you study with him and how was he able to help you?
RB: I started studying with him my junior or senior year in high school, during the early 1970s. We got into some of the mor e advanced trumpet studies, like thematerial from the Saint-Jacome Trumpet Method and other materials of that nature. He was also the first teacher to introduce me to orchestral excerpts. He wanted me to audition for the Curtis Institute and was really preparing me for that, but I didn’t get in. That year they took only one trumpeter from about 100 who auditioned. As it was I ended up at Eastman, where I really wanted to study jazz.
TE: Were there any other early teachers who inspired you?
RB: My first trumpet teacher, Richard Hinkoe, was great. He is still active as a director of one of the Allentown concert bands. My brother told Hinkoe about me and he agreed to teach me. Hinkoe brought me along especially in music theory. His high school theory courses covered collegiate-level material. When I arrived at Eastman I was put in with the advanced placement theory students and didn’t learn anything new . Hinkoe’s theory course included solfege, sight-singing, counterpoint, four -part harmonic writing, the rules of contrary motion and correct resolution, dominants, altered sixth-chords, and more! He was an amazing teacher!
TE: Allen Vizzutti has told me what an incredible experience Eastman was for him. What was Eastman like for you?
RB: Allen and I played together i n some of the bands at Eastman. He can play anything! I was at a concert where he played one of the Verne Reynolds etudes as a solo. He is just an amazing player. Eastman, on the other hand, was very tense. It was a nerve-wracking experience.
There was one student who developed a nervous habit of pulling out his own hair. I remember during winter midterms one year someone starting lighting couches on fire. That was one side of it. On the other side, it was an outstanding educational experience that was just not for the faint-hearted. It was a highly competitive atmosphere. I had a friend who would get up at 5 a.m. and practice out on the lawn to try to get an edge on everybody else. In many ways Eastman was a humbling experience for me. While in high school, I thought I was the hottest thing around, so I needed to be humbled! The major thing Eastman gave me was exposure to music I’d never heard before, like the music of Clifford Brown, Miles Davis, and Freddie Hubbard. I really started to listen to their playing. I worked to understand the way they played blues changes and how their styles were put together. The education I received at Eastman was exceptional.
TE: Did you graduate?
RB: No I didn’t. I finished my junior year and later took some extra classes at UCLA, but some of the guys in Auracle (Steve Raybine, percussion; Ron Wagner, drums; Bill Staebell, bass; John Serry Jr., piano) were one year older than me, had graduated, and were itching to do something. We planned our next step and realized California was the place we ought to be, so we headed west. Steve Kujala (Auracle’s woodwind player) and I left Eastman one year early, much to the chagrin of our families. It all worked out in the end.
TE: What happened once you arrived in California?
RB: We landed in a band house in the San Fernando Valley. Steve Kujala, Bill Staebell, Ron Wagner, and I all lived together. John Serry and Steve Raybine lived in another house. We struggled, made two records, and played the Montreux Jazz Festival, which w as a big deal. It was fun, we were all good friends, and got a little taste of what it was like to be recording artists at a very early age. Then the whole situation blew up. Our label, Chrysalis, broke up the band after our first recording by signing John Serry to a solo deal. He made a couple of records that didn’t sell well while the rest of us went ahead and made our second record. None of us was really up to the task of filling Serry’s shoes at that point, and it did not go well. It’s the classic story of a record label taking one guy out of a band and destroying the chemistry.
TE: After the band broke up and you found yourself living in California, what happened?
RB: That was probably the darkest time of career. I was not yet established as a trumpet player.
I had some early experiences at session work, but for whatever reason, at that early age, I wasn't able to break into the TV, movie, or commercial scene. I ended up doing odd jobs outside of the music business in order to make enough money to live. I remember being so broke that I wrote a bad check in order to buy food, but ended up taking the food back because I just could not go through with it. I would look at the phone wondering if it was off the hook because nobody was calling. Then, slowly, things picked up. I started to get some gigs playing with Latin bands in East Los Angeles and that developed into steady work. Then I got into playing with rhythm and blues bands and out of that work started touring with War. I also played a lot of bars and weddings, whatever I could find, and joined Jack Mack and the Heart Attacks. They were an R&B band that was very popular on the west coast. As a result of being in that horn section I began working with Glenn Frye and some other well-connected musicians including the guys in Tower of Power. I actually played in their horn section on a Tom Petty record (I played piccolo trumpet on that recording). At some point during that time I hooked up with some of the ended up receiving a call to join that band. I had been struggling, and all of a sudden I’m touring the country with Rod Stew art in a private plane, staying at Four Seasons hotels, and making more money than I ever had in my life. It was both a blessing and a curse. The blessing was that I was better off financially than I had ever been; the curse was that I started to get into drugs and began to drink a lot. On the road there are plenty of ways to get into trouble as far as substance abuse is concerned. The good new s is that I bottomed out and sobered up, and that became a major turning point in my life.
TE: Wasn’t it a kick to play for so many people nigh after night?
RB: It was amazing. I think the most people I ever played for was during a show I did with War in Chicago when the first African-American mayor of that city was elected. The city held a huge concert in Lincoln Park with several hundred thousand people. People were as far back as you could see. The columns of speakers went on forever. I’ve been fortunate; I’ve played for quite a few people in my life.
TE: How did your association with REO Speedwagon come about?
RB: When I wasn’t on the road with Rod, I come back to L.A. and look for gigs. As part of the Jack Mack horn section I played on a n album with REO Speedwagon. The lead singer and writer of REO, Kevin Cronin, and I became friends. Kevin and I had been playing clubs together in a band we had put together with some of the REO Speedwagon guys and some other people. We were both going through hard times over women so I wrote a song about my experience. I had composed it like the Beatles song Yesterday, just a series of verses. Kevin heard it and liked it, and was able to come up with a chorus that really fit the tune. He played it for the guys in the band and they loved it. REO Speedwagon recorded it and it went into the top 20.
TE: Can you tell me how your first solo record came about?
RB:I happened to be in Canada on the road with Rod Stewart and through Steve Kujala I had been introduced to Frank Davies, who is a publisher in Toronto, Canada. I met with Frank one afternoon and played him some of my songs. I invited him to come to the show that night, and it turned out he had worked for Rod way back on his first single. It’s a small world! When Frank heard my instrumental material he said he thought he could get me a deal. He took it from Toronto to Burbank, just 30 miles from where I was living, and got me an independent deal with Mesa/Bluemoon. On Intimate Secrets, my first record, I included a song called Theme from t he Midnight Caller. That song got some significant airplay. My next compact disc was Night walk, followed by Beat Street. During this time I went back on the road with Rod. We were in Europe when my manager called and said that, in America, Beat Street was getting a lot of attention and doing so well that I was going to have to make a decision. I was either going to have to continue to be a highly-paid sideman or give my notice and take the solo gigs that didn’t pay a lot of money but would help me build a career as a leader. I took all of two seconds to think that over. I gave Rod my notice and jumped on a plane back to the States. I was willing to take the risk.
TE: That had to be an exciting time.
RB: It was really exciting. When I first came out with Intimate Secrets, the promotion guy at Mesa/Bluemoon was trying to get some airplay for the recording. He told me that many stations would not play it because it featured a trumpet lead. At that time the only horn players getting airtime were saxophone players. I finally broke through when Beat Street was released and won Artist and CD of the Year Awards at the Gavin Convention (Gavin covers the American radio industry, collecting and compiling the playlists of more than 1, 300 radio stations). Beat Street broke Kenny G’s record for most consecutive weeks as the number one contemporary jazz record and helped set me up as a solo artist.
TE: You have stated that work you did with Sade was important to your musical development. Can you elaborate?
RB: The Sade tour was important because she helped me establish a style. Sade's whole show is about sensuality. I've never been a b listening lead trumpet player, and that tour gave me direction and helped me solidify the idea that I don't have to be an Arturo Sandoval type of player in order to get my message across. Sade is a minimalist on stage. From that, I realized that what I have to offer as a musician is valid, and as long as I believe in it and I'm committed to it, I can create a musical fingerprint.
TE: (Jazz saxophonist) Joe Lovano once told me that the great ar tists have a sound that is recognizable in the first three notes. I remember he and I were laughing about the truth to tha t statement and he said,“Three notes, boom, John Coltrane; three notes, boom, Eric Dolphy.”
RB: That is it exactly. Look at Miles.
TE: I read a critic who said that you are the man who reintroduced the trumpet to the contemporary jazz scene. For the longest time, the only music that was getting played by horn players was by saxophonists. How does it feel to have had that kind of an effect on the music scene?
RB: It feels good that I've got a house I can pay for by doing the thing I love to do. That is the ultimate gift—doing what I want to do for a living. I am amazingly fortunate. I think part of the reason I've been so blessed has to do with timing. When I came out with Beat Street, there was a need for another voice. At that time there were only saxophonists like Grover (Washington Jr.), David Sanborn, and Kirk Whalum; George Benson on guitar; and David Benoit and Joe Sample on keyboards. After Chuck Mangione stopped getting airplay, the only other candidate was Herb Alpert, and he had stopped making records with any degree of frequency. There was a window of opportunity and I was fortunate to be in a position to make records. Another thing that happened with Beat Street is that people started coming up to me and saying, "Man, I knew that hip-hop beat was going to catch on." Interestingly enough, the production on that album was minimal at a time w hen bands like The Rippingtons and SpyroGyra were doing complicated material. Beat Street by comparison is really very sparse.
TE: I have to admit I hate the term “smooth jazz,” but there are a number of traditional jazz musicians who have been putting out albums under that title; saxophonist Kenny Garrett and keyboardist Rachel Z come to mind. It seems that many jazz artists are going in this direction. I have found that with the best players there is no snobbery in music anymore.
RB: Well, I wish that were true for everyone. We cannot get a decent hearing from any of the reviewers in Los Angeles. The L.A. Times has the door totally shut. The reviewers won't even stay for the shows. I had a conversation with one of them who just started slamming the music. I was convinced he hadn't even listened to my record, which turned out to be true. I told him that maybe he should listen to it before being critical. He did go home and listen to my compact disc, and called me back to say that he enjoyed it.
TE: I've let a number of my collegiate jazz students borrow some of your recordings. The other day one of them came by and mentioned how he was surprised and delighted that you find ways to go past stereotypical smooth jazz, both harmonically and melodically.
RB: Last week I played a straight-ahead gig with Gerald Albright on saxophone, Harvey Mason on drums, Dave Garfield on keyboards, and Kenny Wild on bass. We played at the Baked Potato, which is just a little club here in California. We didn't tell anyone we were going to do it, but as often happens, word spread. For me, it is just so much fun to play straight-ahead. And when I practice, I practice that way. I practice scales, flexibility, etc. For me, the way I'm going to improve as a player is by learning how to play changes better. No matter what you have laid out as a solo, you still have to navigate the changes. It probably sounds simplistic to even mention it in that way, but that's the way it is. It's a lifelong challenge!
TE: Many musicians say it’s the struggle that seems to keep them going. They’re always looking for the next mountain to scale, pardon the pun, or the next musical peak to climb.
RB: Yes, exactly. Along with that thought, I always found myself thinking that the moment I ’m really pleased with something I ’ve played, I immediately find something else I didn’t like. It’s really about taking a Zen approach to the music. For me, when I practice, it’s about refining the craft, improving my technique, and increasing the number of too ls available to me. I’m always working to increase the number of scales, patterns, and other musical materials which I have available. When I perform I want to approach the music with the Zen concept of not thinking ahead or behind, just being in the moment. That’s when I think I’m doing my best work.
TE: Do you still find the time to practice?
RB: Yes, I really do. I don’t practice as much as I would like to. When I ’m producing, I need to spend a great deal of time with the artist. When working with other artists, there are a number of other things that go into the pr oduction, and those things take away from the time I want to spend practicing. When I’m traveling, I’ll have to spend the whole day on the road, and when I finally arrive in the hotel it’ll be time to sleep. I’ll have to go into a big show without practicing the previous day.
TE: Are there things you like to practice on a daily basis?
RB: What I’ll try to do now is find patterns of five or six notes that I really like and then explore them, fully develop them, interpolate them, and run them in all key areas. I’m trying to build my musical vocabulary. I also like to play the piano. Having an instrument that allows me to think of harmonies in a non-horizontal way helps to visualize what’s going on underneath the melody. Another thing, and I’m not ashamed to say this, is that part of my practice is done to the Jamey Aebersold recordings. For the most part, when the music is recorded with a live band, as opposed to when it sounds like it was sequenced, it is absolutely great. I have a studio here at home, and I’ll transfer a track like Joy Spring onto my hard disk, set up a microphone, and lay down several tracks. Then I’ll go back and listen critically. I try to under stand where my problems are and then work to improve my weaknesses.
TE: What advice do you have for young musicians?
RB: Here’s what I did that was a mistake. When I was at Eastman, I used to go to the practice rooms in the basement where everybody would walk by and hear you. I’m a natural ham. I always wanted to sound good and to impress people, so I would play the first couple of bars of Brandenburg No. 2. I couldn’t get through the whole thing to save my life, but I had the first entrance nailed! I think kids need to know that you have to practice what sounds bad. Play the material that sounds the worst, and practice it the most. Of course you want to play stuff you can play well, and I do too, but instead of always playing in F minor, play in B minor or F-sharp minor. Instead of playing a blues scale, work on the Lydian chromatic concept and Mixolydian scales. One of the things I did when I was learning the trumpet was to take the Clarke Technical Studies and incorporate them into as many different scale forms as possible. Early jazz education is usually restricted to major, minor, and diminished. Rarely do you learn about altered or Dorian scales until you get to a more advanced level. By adapting the Clarke studies i n a variety of ways, you create a big toolbox. If major and minor are the only scales that are second nature, you will be limited. It would be like fixing a car with only a wrench and a screwdriver. You’ll soon find that you need more tools!
Equipment
Mr. Braun plays a Getzen trumpet and flugelhorn from the custom series. His trumpet has a cryogenically treated bell. His mouthpieces are from his own signature series by Marcinciewicz Music Products.

Okay but like yunno how Dagur does that mediation stuff when he's trying to control his anger? Imagine some like... native princess of some other island taught him that somehow and like he loved her for it and tries to teach her some of his Beserker fighting skills and she's trying her best but she can't do em and he thinks it's just the cutest thing ever
I love it, you’re promoted
“This is never going to work!” Dagur said, jumping out of his seated position. You watched as he stalked in circles around the beach, grumbling to himself the way you’d seen him do many times in his short time on your island. After some time of getting his anger out, Dagur sat down across from you once again and waited for you to begin again.
“Ready to try again?” you asked. He nodded and grumbled a bit more about how he’d never get this whole meditation thing right, that he just didn’t have the patience for it. “Your willingness to try so many times says otherwise,” you said with a smile. “You can do it, Dagur, it just takes time. It’s hard, and it definitely won’t be done in a day. The people of my island start learning these techniques as children, and even the adults struggle with clearing their minds at times. It’s natural.”
It seemed that your reassurance worked and he closed his eyes and took a breath. You started your instruction again. “Now look forward, but not with your physical eyes. Feel your third eye between and behind your eyebrows and use it to stare directly in front of you.” You followed as you spoke, feeling the light pressure of the third eye on the edge of your mind. “Now tether your mind to a single thing; don’t allow it to wander no matter how it wants to. You can use a word or a sound. I prefer to use ‘om’ since it’s a syllable with no meaning.”
“What’s so bad about using a word with meaning?” he asked. You peeked one of your eyes open and saw that he was doing rather well. His eyes were still closed and his back was straight with his shoulders relaxed. You smiled to yourself, indeed he would never get the hang of it.
“If you accidentally start thinking about the meaning of the word, it could lead to your thoughts branching off into other areas, which is the opposite of what you want,” you said. Together you repeated the syllable over and over again, drawing it out each time. Within the hour, Dagur no longer needed to say the word out loud to tether himself. You had by now opened your eyes and simply sat quietly as he meditated. “You did it, Dagur,” you whispered. That was enough to bring him back to earth and he opened his eyes in surprise at himself. “I’m sorry, I didn’t think you would hear–”
“I did it!” he said and jumped up to hop up and down on the sand. You laughed to yourself and stood.
“Yes, you did. Congratulations,” you said, nodding. He turned to you and spoke enthusiastically.
“Thank you, Princess Y/N. Let me do something for you in return,” he said. You held up a hand.
“Just Y/N is fine,” you said. “And you don’t have to do anything for me, I taught you because I wanted to.” At his insistence, you finally asked of him, “Why don’t you tell me where you came from, then? What were you doing before you came to my island?”
At this he gave pause. “If that subject is too difficult, then please forget that I asked, and accept my apologies.”
“No– it’s just– I– why don’t I teach you to fight instead? A princess could make good use of self defense techniques.” You agreed to the lessons and asked to meet in the same place tomorrow morning. “Alright, get some rest and get ready. Self defense training isn’t easy.”
How right he was.
By midday, he was very aware of why your island went to such lengths to avoid fighting with other islands. You couldn’t wield a single weapon Odin gave you, and you knew it. “Maybe we should stop–” you started, but he turned down your suggestion before it was even finished.
“It’s okay, Y/N, it’s only been a couple hours,” he said.
“And in those few hours, I’ve nearly killed you twice. I really don’t think we should continue.”
“You didn’t give up on me–”
“These are two very different things, Dagur! Meditation won’t kill you no matter how many times you fail! Swords and arrows very much will!”
“It’s okay! You will learn to defend yourself if it kills me.”
“It just might.”
“Ha ha, very funny, now take this mace.” You underestimated its weight and nearly dropped it on his foot. He ignored your very obvious alarm and wheezes of his name and went on to explain the best techniques from Berserker Island to use with it. By the time he turned to see how you were doing, you had already put the mace on the ground where you couldn’t do any more harm with it.
Unfortunately, you’d misjudged the proximity of your foot to the mace’s landing site. You leaned you weight on your other foot and fought back tears as your toes screamed for mercy. Dagur sighed and came over to you.
“Y/N, you can do this, just–” he cut himself off when he picked up the mace and you squeaked in pain. He looked down and saw the tear in your boot. “Oh. Maybe we should stop for today. Get on,” he said and knelt facing away from you for you to climb on.
“I’m sorry,” you mumbled to him as he carried you back to the village. You knew how he’d genuinely wanted to teach you return the favor you payed him by teaching him how to meditate. He shook his head and told you to think nothing of it.
“Do you think the other villagers are gonna hold a grudge against me for this?” he asked with a bit of an edge to his voice.
“I’ll tell them it was my fault if you promise to repay me in a way that won’t involve me maiming you.”
“But that’s the fun part!” You weren’t particularly amused. “…Deal.”

om g the ryder family secrets d e s t r o y s me, i know for gabby even seeing her mom alive in those memories would fuck her up.
dude let me tell you about how that fucked up Elliot because whoo man
VERY HEAVY SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT Y’ALL, VERY HEAVY SPOILERS
okay so in my and @liamryder‘s canon, Alec Ryder vastly favored his son in pretty much everything. Brooks was papa’s (unwilling) little soldier, his Legacy Project, the obvious favorite child who loathed that status, while Ellie was mostly just left to do as she pleased- not disliked, but kind of… neglected. And she spent a lot of time and energy on trying to gain her father’s love and approval.
She studied her ass off, she graduated Magna cum Laude, got her doctorate in xenobotany and taught herself bio-engineering, during her university years she contributed to the research that would later lead to the development of the farms of the Nexus by cross-referencing the Prothean cryopods’ sustainability and the quarian liveships’ efficiency and mobility… Nothing less than perfect was ever good enough, she is a perfectionist, an ambitious woman, and capital S Smart, and Successful, and Spiteful. (It’s also interesting how her success and her striving for approval in turn ended up giving her little brother a severe inferiority complex, but we don’t talk about that rn.)
On Habitat 7, when Alec chose her life instead of his own, she felt strangely energized. As if her father, the man she spent such a long time both resenting and longing for his approval, had granted her his trust. She felt like he had placed his faith unequivocally in her, and like he believed that she could succeed where he couldn’t- it was the approval she had always wanted, and it was what gave her the confidence to actually do her job as Pathfinder. She believed that she could, and therefore she did.
So finding out that she was wrong destroyed her.
Finding out that her father cared more about the emotions of a woman who should by all means be dead than the life of his daughter (he SAID in the goddamn memory that he saved her not because he wanted her to live but because he didn’t want Ellen to wake up and find one of her kids dead, that’s just shitty as fuck) destroyed Elliot, especially because she based so much of her strength and confidence on the knowledge that her dad loved and trusted her after all.
I think that really helped her understand Suvi and her faith a lot more, because suddenly, that faith she had placed on the idea that her father had entrusted her with this task for a reason had evaporated. She, a woman of almost 30 at that point, felt like that 16 year old girl excitedly showing off her report card only to get a passing pat on the head and a litany of praises meant for her brother.
Oh, and those audio logs? That triggered an anger so deep within, that she just… she lost it. She almost destroyed her father’s quarters. Tossed books, smashed mugs, cracked datapads, and then just cried for a good hour- it’s a miracle that the security didn’t notice and escort her out, declare her unstable.
She immediately lost that confidence that she had. For the first time since taking up the mantle, she couldn’t lock out the thought that she might fail. And that terrified her.
She’s normally a sniper, but after discovering that last memory, she can no longer aim straight because her hands are shaking so bad. For days she barely leaves her room, and only lets a very few people enter to check on her. (I haven’t decided if i’m gonna have her tell either of them, but I’m thinking that with the guilt she felt… she would have to tell Cora what she had lowkey been thinking all along; that it should have been Cora and not her who leads this crew. Maybe when Cora comes to see if everything’s alright and prods Ellie into talking about it, the dam is just broken, and Ellie sobs it into Cora’s shoulder? And Cora doesn’t even know how to deal with this so she just sits there and holds Ellie, not the Pathfinder but her friend, which really brings them closer.)
Plus, she had already mourned her mother and moved on, she had buried that trauma and that loss deep, deep within her, so now that that’s no longer there, she just doesn’t know how to feel. She just doesn’t know how to deal with the idea of a woman whose loss she had come to terms with (who “died” while she was on a dig site and her brother was at her alma mater, working on his master’s degree and they only found out because someone in the hallway gave Brooks their condolences over “the brilliant Dr. Ellen Ryder” and not because their dad actually told them, he had to call his sister back from the dig and they had to call their dad together and demand to speak to their mom to get him to “admit” that she had died…).
It’s actually pretty interesting, because Mayu and I had been talking about this, and it’s fascinating how while Ellie was floored by this, Brooks was more liberated, elated by the discovery. For him, who had always been expected to follow his dad’s footsteps and succeed, that “Ryder’s kid” brand removed from his forehead and the knowledge that their mom is alive was just… pure joy. Freedom. Elation. I can’t really speak for him that much, but Brooks kind of experienced the polar opposite of the feelings his sister did.
It’s just a fucking shitshow, man.
I had originally thought that Alec’s last words to Ellie were the words of a father’s affection (”Stay with me, Flopsy”- a childhood nickname of the twins was Flopsy and Mopsy), finding out that it was in fact of his wife whom he couldn’t let go… man, I just feel so bad for her.
I have so many thoughts and such a rant in my head and I wish I could put this in a story but other than the base concept my mind is blank and I still have yet to finish the main plot y’all THIS RIDE JUST GOT WILD AF
#personal#elliot k. ryder phd.#you know I was kind of worried that Ellie wouldn't have an emotional arc#that she would be kinda stuck as the fun tech-sniper chick who saves the initiative#but nah#now with this reveal?#that girl is a wreck#she is scared and tired and weepy for a long time#and nobody really knows why#but they are all very concerned#especially Liam woof#can you imagine the previous day they had their Big Romantic Gesture and kissed in the sunset#and then after a visit to the Nexus she took a 180°turn and started crying at the drop of a hat#that would scare the shit out of me tbh#me:a#engineerliamkosta

Personal Development Change Can Make You Happy

Personal Development Change Can Make You Happy
A lot of people struggle with the right place or way to start their personal development. Since everyone is different it is important to identify what can work for you when you're thinking about personal development. There are, however, some common advice that can help a majority of people get started on a personal development journey, and that is what the following tips cover.
When dealing with the emotional downers in your life, self help is many times the solution for people. Like anything else in life, it requires dedication to succeed, but there is always room for improvement and you should always strive to better yourself. Remember to always keep your head up.
If you would like to move forward in personal development, you should be humble. Realizing that you are but a small part of the bigger picture will potentially open your mind to attaining new insights. By instilling these ideas in your brain, you will be more open to improving yourself and learning new information.
You are responsible for the state of your life right now. You have the ability to make changes and own up to the decisions you have made by embracing them and extracting the value and experience you have gained from them. By realizing you are in control of your life, you can be more effective in identifying the things you wish to improve or change about yourself.
How Meditation Helped Me to Uncover My Path

I remember the time in my life when I was stuck amidst the false narratives of success, failure, and competition. Humans are free species with a mind that is capable of doing wonders, and natural abilities to achieve astonishing outcomes. But do you know what stands between you and the success? It is your own mindset and insufficiency to disconnect from the unnatural wrath of ego that comes in between. I was in the same position a couple of years ago – completely delusional, dwelling under forced expectations, and just living my life on absolutely absurd terms. I had no idea what my heart wanted or what my soul was searching for. Living in denial is one perilous thing, isn’t it?
Humans love living in absolute renunciation because it offers some short-lived emotions- love, greed satiation, and ego inflation. What was missing in my life? Why wasn’t I happy even though I was living a life that had everything approved by the societal norms and standards? I realized that every waking moment of my life was a slave to some or the other requirement or demand. My work was not serving my soulful purpose and my bank account was there just to boost my ego. Ask yourself, “is this what you want?” It was way back in 2016, that one of my friends introduced me to Yoga & meditation and since then, I never looked back.
The unnecessary mind chatter was over all of a sudden, happiness was there in the heart, and an unreal sense of satisfaction encompasses my gut. Suddenly, everything looked bright and every morning, the sun looked even more beautiful.
Meditation turned my life upside down…..for good.
Constant Anger
Past 4 years were a roller coaster ride of emotions and mental instability. Anger was my second personality and nothing was working enough to pacify the strange irritation towards everything and everyone. I was always hungry, stressed, and my gut wrenched in pain. In a nutshell, I was annoying and unapproachable. During the first few days of starting my meditation session, I was horrible, failed to concentrate on anything, and could not keep my eyes closed. With time, I learnt to connect with my body and keep up with its demand. The first wake up call for me was to change my lifestyle and diet for a while to see if it changes anything. I am a pescatarian now. I feel full, stay humble, feel energetic, and my hunger pangs are controlled. I was missing the basic vitamins and animal hormones, which is why I was ungrounded for most parts. It is proved that some of the basic vitamins and minerals are found in animal products and I was obviously missing from my diet. Led by the new-age cult, my lifestyle was affected in the most pathetic ways possible and my brain remained wishy-washy about the positive changes. Meditation brought me closer to my existence and put me into a thinking mode. I became practical enough to take care of my body first and include things that can help me reach healthier goals.
Your gut regulates your life, let that sink in!
Eating Disorder?!
Eating disorder is not a pleasant sight, believe me. Eating a bag of chips, a burger and still not feeling satiated! No one wants to be this monstrous with food. I had an unhealthy relationship with food that made me unstable and extremely annoyed for most parts. Nothing was working on my appetite and by the end of the day, I was bloated and sick as hell. Meditation taught me to focus more on the moment and this helped me a lot during my withdrawal symptoms and helped me go through the paradigm shift, with ease. I learned to chew each morsel with contentment and concentrate on that very moment. My emotions were all over the place and I found solace near every junk food stall or truck. However, scientific studies prove that junk food has a high content of Omega-6 that messes up the gut and everyone knows that happiness starts at the gut. The art of mindfulness taught me to stay in harmony with my disrupted emotional well-being, take food as a fuel, and stop obsessing with my meals.
Career Path
But where do you get the food from? I had to live a life on my own terms and ethics. This is not easy as you need both emotional and financial support, which is steady enough to take you through thick and thins. A closed mind is an outcome of societal conditioning, childhood preaching, and certain religious beliefs that stops you from being your real self. A constant need of a polished self-projection puts pressure on your tender mind and often forces you to do things against your life’s purpose. My career path was the most arduous terrain I have ever walked, no jokes. At some point in life, I was nearly close to sabotaging my desires and suppress my skills. You become a push-over when you stay in denial and disconnect from Nature. I started trusting my instincts more and developed the strength to follow my skills. The art of meditation brings your soul back home and make you realize that temporary emotions satiate the ego, not the soul.
Success Rate
You have to understand this thing- “the effective way to lead a happier life is to stay grounded and be grateful”. Greed is a common emotion and honestly the most powerful one. Constantly fanned by ego, your greed takes everything to extreme. At first, my approach towards life in general was extremely haywire and this is why my mindset was haggard and unsteady. Meditation is a scientifically proven tool to deactivate the parasympathetic nervous system, which means less unstable emotions, eased up mind, and more energy to take up intricate tasks. In every sphere of my life, I elevated from a confused to a more mature human being and my mind levelled up from being unsteady to becoming practical. Wondering what this can do to you? A stable mind leads to a more realistic approach towards life; you feel better about yourself, approach your goals with a calmer mind and sop rushing into things. These attributes confirm nothing but a steady success rate and constantly fueled ambitions to move ahead in life. This will take time but things started to change after a week.
Do I Owe Stability to the Cumulative Effects of These Changes?
The art of meditation is not a magic wand that yields result at the single swirl. Consider this – you approach to use a divine tool in order to achieve a higher consciousness but this is not an easy path. Meditation is a catalyst to this mission, which makes you aware of your instabilities, weaknesses, and covered ego. First few instances of failure shall teach you that your life is not only a bed of roses but often days of walking the eggshells. I was more than exhausted and this was because meditation takes a lot of energy, the negative one. You will not feel it at the first go – all that sitting at one place with closed eye thing. My mental chatter stopped after a week and this was no miracle. It was more about lack of centered emotions and unnecessary inclination towards egotistical qualms.
A lifestyle that was not serving my higher-self had to be shunned so that I could listen to my mind and feed my body the right way. Inculcate the art of meditation in your everyday life, add it to your workout regime, morning routine or simply do some inhale-exhale action before hitting the sack. The rhythmic breathing patterns helps pacify stressed nerves allowing you to raise your vibrations in the most realist way.

Being able to effectively manage your time will play a huge role in the level of success of bettering yourself and your life. Staying organized is important because the stronger your plan, the less leeway you have to get off track and the less excuses you will be able to make.
You can contribute to a more loving and fulfilling relationship with your partner by making an effort to clearly state your specific needs and expectations as they relate to showing appreciation for one another. Yes, you love your partner dearly, but you do not share the same brain. He or she should not have to guess when it comes to your wants and needs. In fact, this concept can be readily applied to your work and family relationships as well.
Build strong and healthy relationships with good people. The people that you share your life with are going to help you in your journey to a happy life. If you are around negative people, it is not going to help you change your ways and find the life that you want to live.
If you hear a voice in your head, chances are it is just your subconscious talking to you. Those words you hear are called affirmations or your inner voice. Some of these may be positive, and some may be negative. The goal is to concentrate on the positive ones and work to eliminate ones that are negative.
Don't rely simply on your memory for knowledge, invest in understanding things completely. You need to approach life and learning not only with the goal of understanding the 'how' and 'what', but also of understanding the 'why'. When you begin to grasp why something occurred, you are are opening up a layer of knowledge that many people ignore.

To be on a path of personal development means not leaving things to chance. Don't let yourself blame the universe for what happens. Take control of your life and you can choose what your life will be like. In every situation, you have the choice on how you will react, so make the right choice, starting today!
Be honest with yourself. If you are trying to change something about your life, you need to be brutally honest about what you can and can not do. If you are not a very emotionally strong person, you will need to work on that before going into your deeper issues.
To achieve your goals you need to recognize what motivates you. Although advise from others can be helpful, do not be surprised if what works for them does not work for you. Once you realize what motivates you, you will be able to set up an award system for yourself that will help keep you focused on your goal.
Don't forget about the power of positive thinking. It is necessary to maintain the proper mindset on your road to personal development and negativity will only thwart your best efforts. Practice positive thinking to achieve positive results. When you remain positive about everything that you do, good things will follow.

Religion can help some people. Perhaps the religion you were raised in is not for you if you consider yourself an atheist. Certain people see religion as a way of finding their place in the universe, and some people see it as a way to improve their daily life by adopting a certain philosophy.
Self awareness and self control are a part of personal development. Knowing who you are, being confident in your perception of the world around you and controlling your emotions will allow your true self to prosper. Always stand up for what you believe in, but try and do so without infringing on others beliefs.
Consider learning an instrument as part of your personal development. You probably had some type of music training when you were young, and it is never too late to learn again. Learning an instrument can expand your appreciation for various types of music. Music teachers for adults can customize lessons and use music that are more appropriate for adults. Therefore, do not worry that you will only be learning children's songs. Being able to play an instrument is a wonderful feeling, you are really missing out if you don't give it a try.
Use whichever suggestions from this post seem applicable and practical for your own situation; not every tip will work for every person. If you are aiming for success in nearly any area, the information available in this material will help you. If you know of anyone who could also pick up useful advice from this piece, pass it along and help them begin the journey to becoming a more well-rounded individual.

If you buy life insurance in the US why is it illegal for companies/brokers to give rebates(legal in Ireland)?
I'm thinking of getting a life assurance policy for say 10 or 20 years cover, just incase I kick it my spouse will have a little nestegg. Found a broker who offers ok prices, cheapest I could find, and the broker offers a 75% cash rebate by cheque in year one once you pay in full for the year or in the 13th month if you pay monthly. Some companies - aside from brokers - also offer rebates, although not as generous. Now how can this broker afford to do that? Does he get a commision from the company we get our policy through, like an affiliate bonus for signing up new clients and is he then using part or all of this bonus to cover the rebate to us? Works out well for us regardless but wondering why it's illegal in the US? Thanks.""

Will my motorcycle license show up on the car insurance?
So before you guys rule me out as being immature about getting a motorcycle without my parents knowledge let me tell you about my background. I am a college student studying at Northeastern in Boston. I have my own apartment in Boston and I share with 3 other people. I pay my own rent and food and I work 2 jobs. I work around 25-30 hours a week and I am a full time student on top of that. I have a car that is under my dad's insurance and I pay for the insurance and gas. Lately, the insurance and gas is really killing me financially. So, I'm planning to give my car back to my parents and I will just get a motorcycle for the city. Its cheaper gas and insurance wise and its easy to find parking for it the place I live in. I have taken place the winter seasons and I'm planning to put it in a storage for the winter seasons. My question is that my mother is thinks that a motorcycle is unsafe and that its dangerous. I believe its up to the driver to be safe or not, and also being aware of the surrounding. My mom take cares of the insurances and she just tells me how much I have to pay her for the car, and I was wondering if I get my motorcycle licenses in MA, does it show up on the car insurance? I'm planning to insure the motorcycle on my own with a different company and register it under my name. So basically I don't want my parents to find out about it. I don't want to cause them any trouble. Lets say that I take my name off of the car insurance, but down the line I want to put my name back on the car insurance does my motorcycle license show up during re apply for my name under the car insurance?""

""Car insurance rates are through the roof and I don't know why, help!?""
I need help with car insurance, I'm having some problems. Okay, I'm a 21 year old single, never married, male and I got my driver's license when I was 18 in March 2008. Now, I know my car insurance rates are high because I'm young and a guy, but here's the problem. I see people who are about my same age who have been driving for the same amount of time as and have no accidents, violations, or tickets like me. My car insurance rates are ridiculously high, I mean insanely high, even compared to others my age. My younger brother even, he's had his license for a year, he's 19, and had 3 speeding tickets and still pays less than me. On average for my car insurance rates, getting quotes online range from about $1500 all the way up to $2500 for 6 months! I used old vehicles, new vehicles, safe vehicles, unsafe vehicles, every kind of car/truck you could imagine and my projected rates are still through the roof. For example, for full coverage with the minimum amounts and highest deductibles, my insurance on a 2010 Mazda 3 would be about $1800-$2300 for 6 months. However, I also got a quote for a 1997 Ford Escort and the same exact coverage is still $1200-$1300. I don't get why my rates are so much higher. A coworker of mine is 21 years old, not married, no tickets, and has had his license since 18 like me, and he has a 2007 Mazda 6 and he only pays about $170 a month, which translates to about ~$1050 for 6 months. I put in my information including SSN on the same company's web site that he uses (Geico) and my insurance rates are about $1700 for 6 months. So my question is why are my insurance rates so high? I have no tickets, no moving violations, no accidents, nothing, and yet insurance rates are so high. I figure SOMETHING has to be on my driving record, but I can't imagine what. How can get a copy of or look at my driving record? I just want to know why my rates are so much higher than other people, male or female, who are about my age and have been driving for about the same amount of time and yet I still pay 2x or 3x as much as me. Please help me out! =)""

Temporary Car insurance fuddles? Re: excess on the owners policy?
Hi, I was looking to either rent a car for a day or borrow my sisters, now ive found a site on tempcover willing to insure me for something like 30 - 40 odd quid but the trouble is it said something about excess being in & around the 400 - 500 mark.... It also said this is the excess the car's owner has to pay.... I'm pretty certain i'll not be borrowing anyones car if its going to cost them that much - even if I offer to pay it (which I wouldnt by the way, im not an idiot lol) But does anyone know if this is like a one-off or if they mean that this is what my sisters excess will amount to once ive been put on one day insurance on her vehicle? Just im not 100% if they mean that by being insured for 1 day im gonna just basically destroy her policy for the next year lol? Can I fight this no proof of insurance ticket in the state of california?
I purchased my vehicle on 3/13/09 with insurance. I was stopped on 4/7/09 for no license plates and failure to prove financial responsibility i.e. no proof of insurance. Prior to that, the car dealer initially wouldn't even allow me to drive the car off the lot unless it was insured. Also, I hadn't received the insurance card in the mail from State Farm yet. I asked the officer (before he wrote the ticket) if he could identify my vehicle in his system to see that it is in fact insured, at which point he would not oblige. I obviously received the card a few days later and now have the card verifying insurance from 3/13/09 to the present date. Do I have a case here that can rightfully be reversed?""

Cancelling car insurance?
I currently have car insurance through State Farm and I pay $318 a month. I looked into 21 Century insurance and the quote says I will be paying about $180 a month. My current insurance expires June 11th but my next bill is due May 25th. How do I go about buying/cancelling insurance? I would like to cancel State Farm by May 20th and begin my new insurance that day so I won't have to pay those crazy premiums anymore.
Why can't responsible working people get low-cost health insurance?
Here's my big fault: I have no fatherless children, in fact, I have no children. Yet I have to hear a girl that I work with (who makes more than I do) talk about how she has state health insurance (I believe Medicaid) at an extremely low cost, since she made the decision to have a child with a man that she knew was a criminal, and is now serving time in prison. (And oh yeah, I drive an 11-year-old car, she just recently got a new one. But I know, that's easy when you get a free ride for the necessities.) So, why can't there be affordable health insurance for everyone, even if you did not choose to pump out a child (or children) you knew you could not afford to take care of?""
Can I buy insurance even though I have no car but I drive other peoples cars regularly?
I find myself needing to borrow my boyfriends car every once and a while but my mom recently took me off her insurance plan since I dont drive the car anymore (i moved away to college and dont come home often). All the insurance quotes I've seen require me to list a car. Can't I just get general driver's insurance to cover me when I'm borrowing cars? BTW, I drive a vespa-style scooter that doesn't require insurance, so I have transportation but when it rains or when I need to drive far I borrow a car. I also offer to drive whenever the driver is tired, or if I'm taking a road trip, or if the driver is drunk and can't drive, that kind of thing.""

""Can i get my medical insurance to pay for surgery to correct a covered surgery, if coverage lapsed meantime?""
In 2008 I had insurance in California, through my employer. I got laid off in June, but was on COBRA in Sept. 2008, when Blue Cross authorized me for gastric bypass surgery. In Oct 2009, owing to a dispute over COBRA payments, my insurance lapsed. As of Nov 1 I have no coverage, and new insurance through my wife's Kaiser won't start until Jan 1. Yesterday (Dec 23 09) I had to go to the ER due to abdominal pain that turned out to be a complication of the 2008 gastric bypass. Last night I had a CT scan and emergency surgery to correct the problem. Blue Cross rejected the claim, which of course makes sense and pushing it through was just a formality anyway. But today I wondered if, since the procedure was covered originally, would surgery to correct a complication be covered by law even if my insurance lapsed? I know I'm grasping at straws here, but it seems like it might be worth a consultation with an attorney to find out. I think this surgery is going to run to $40K or more. It was a simple laproscopic procedure, but y'know nothing's cheap. The original bypass was billed to Blue Cross at $38K. I know it's not like defect liability, since a surgeon can't guarantee there will not be complications. Also, I know I can't expect free legal advice here. But if someone knows for sure or has thoughts one way or the other would be helpful.""

The tail end of my car began to slide out to the right and I was unable to correct this due to the terrible conditions of the road. I spun completely around and was facing directly into traffic in the fast lane. A car traveling in the fast lane (at a rate of speed unknown to me) hit me head on, totaling both cars. Its hard to be sure, but I am estimating that the time between initial loss of control and impact was around 10 - 15 seconds. There were no injuries. The Creators name is LOVE I had a NDE after a serious motorcycle accident when I was 33 years old - I'm now 70! The experience will always be with me! Our Creators name is LOVE!!! Sometimes when I tell my story, the reactions are good and sometimes people just think the brain is reacting to the death process! I only wish I had the ability to express in words what took place, however, I now realize, that words can never express the LOVE that that I felt and the removal of all hate! Hate does not live in that realm, and can never live there! To feel totally immersed in LOVE, cannot be put into the languages of this world - I've tried and failed. I will tell you this much - all religions fail - ALL. Our creator is so far beyond this nonsense that I can't even put it in words! All I know is that I will always LOVE my creator, OM, or what ever name you want to use! I really stopped caring if people believed me or not, however, when they want to know what I experienced - I'm always happy to tell them what happened to me - as best I can - with the limitations that language can express! What a great book! Thanks to you Doctor; now others may understand what I went through! Rather you are a believer or not, Religious or Attheist, Agnostic, or what ever you are, at the very least you will come away with questions, that will at least make you wonder!!! I actually feel blessed that my Creator had me go through this in my Life - as painful as it was! It really made me look at Life in a much different way! Sorry for going on and on, but, I really appreciated this book, especially from a neurosurgeon! All I know is; that to me it was no dream! This was so different that I know it will be with me until I return to my Creator. What an experience! I thought my life was over at age 33, however, he/she, Creator, OM, Love, Truth, has shown me what Life really is! I hope all, and I mean all find what I found! Maybe, just maybe, this world or realm we live in would become a better place! Go to Amazon
Highly Recommended Well written, with a scientific mindset towards a difficult and uncertain subject. I personally think that stories about people's NDEs must be taken with a grain of salt, but I'm under the impression from the read that Mr Alexander is trying as best he can to tell it as it was for him. Go to Amazon
Five Stars Better than expected! Go to Amazon
FURTHER PROOF - NICELY DONE!! I keep reading this book in sections and I really like that this MD has written about his own experience. I already believe in NDE so I did not need any convincing but it is wonderful for a highly educated individual who has been taught to be scientific vs spiritual to open the doors to further proof of heaven. Thank you for writing this book! Go to Amazon
Proof of Heaven Written well.I bought this book, since it supposed to deal with paranormal matters, which interests me. The Author answered all the scientific questions, in a methodical way.Normally the scientific details and good narrations do not go well together. But here Dr.Eban managed this task well.At times, even going detailed way into scientific matters, boring general readers like me, he was carefully handling the narration.Overall it is a good attempt to retain and reproduce all the details and experiences which occurred during coma - Near Death Experience (NDE) Go to Amazon
Great read. I have read many books on this topic and this one is definitely in the top 5. More and more books in this genre are being written and the publics awareness of this aspect of spirituality is growing. Since the information surrounding what happens to a person's soul after death cannot be confirmed and substantiated we have to rely upon the individual's personal experience and credibility as well as how they relate to the volume of work already published. In this case we have a highly skilled and published Neurosugeon who has been trained through the rigours of evidence based science who now is willing to consider "something else" may exist beyond the ability of science to explain. This alone is a big breakthrough, but even more it allows us as readers to consider a world beyond our own with the hope that life does not end at death but only continues. I highly recommend this book and the way it flows, draws you in wanting more. Enjoy it. Go to Amazon
EMBRACE THE TRUTH Proof of Heaven is a wonderful book. If you can embrace the truth of this book, you can open your heart and your spirit to some of the power and the Presence which Dr. Alexander experienced. If you have trouble embracing the truth of this book, or if you have questions about Heaven in general, I recommend reading Elton Trueblood's "The Logic of Belief." Professor Trueblood made the point that absolute proof of anything is an illusion, and that the best we can do in the real world is to give diligent study to converging lines of evidence. When sufficient convergence occurs, then we may be said to have achieved proof "beyond a reasonable doubt." Prof Trueblood also points out that genuine science does not form opinions in advance of studying the available evidence, and he notes that when we apply scientific thinking to spiritual questions, then the available evidence has to incorporate information which comes through the sensory apparatuses (apparati?) of human beings. His story is beautiful, and I feel grateful that he is sharing ... Extraordinary!!! This book is so well written, His story is beautiful, and I feel grateful that he is sharing his experience. A must read for sure! Go to Amazon
One of the best books. I needed this after losing my brother ... Truly an amazing, brilliant book and so well written! Five Stars Three Stars Beautiful and inspiring!

What Is Your Success Meter?

"What does success mean for you? Here’s an interesting story. In 1983, a young talented guitarist was kicked out of his dream band.
