OK correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel like the main 'yin/yang' parallel with Atsushi and Akutagawa is not something like 'this one is bad but secretly has a good side and this one is good but secretly has a bad side'.

I feel like it's more about 'who they are at their core vs who they choose to be'.

At his core Akutagawa is kind and at his core Atsushi is not. But despite this Atsushi tries every day to make the kinder choices and I love him so much for it. He has to work so hard to be good.

He wants to be a bitch SO bad I know he does but he tries his best to help people and be nice (sometimes he fails but that's OK <3)

Atsushi doesn't always WANT to help people, a lot of the time he's selfish and scared, but he does help people anyway. He keeps helping people over and over again. There's still some selfish motivation to it, and his initial motivation for helping people was because the headmaster told him that's all he was worth, but overall he does care about the people he helps and it weighs on him if he fails to save them. And of course, as the series goes on he starts helping people more because he can rather than because he feels like he needs to.

In Akutagawa's case, he's still capable of being kind but his environment led him into being someone who chooses to hurt people. But he's always been a protector at heart. In the start he was bad compared to Atsushi because he was choosing to hurt people and keep the cycle of abuse going. Just like how Atsushi developed in why he saved people, Akutagawa starts to get redeemed when he chooses to not just act on his rage. Not only does he start to spare people, but he speaks more kindly to them (apologising to Higuchi and telling Kyouka he's proud of her). It all culminates into the moment he chooses to help Atsushi and sacrifice himself for him, going back to his core value of being a protector. Even when he's finally revived, he keeps this role in his new position as Aya's Knight.

I kind of see the streaks of white in Akutagawa and the streaks of black in Atsushi not as their 'hidden sides' but as their fundamental selfs. That's who they are at their core, and their main colours (black for Akutagawa and white for Atsushi) are how they're presented to everyone else and how they try to have people see them as.

"what are you doing," eddie mumbles in confusion, hair fanned out on steve's pillow, the moonlight streaming in giving him a hazy halo.

there's a hand on the side of his face and it's cupping his cheek, thumb stroking over his skin. it's soft, so soft, too soft. another hand is trapping his against the mattress, fingers trailing over his forearm before tangling into his own and squeezing tight. it's gentle, so gentle, too gentle.

eddie isn't soft, eddie isn't gentle. eddie isn't making love in a full size bed with wallpaper that matches the drapes. he isn't fluttering kisses in time with fluttering heartbeats and the fluttering wings of butterflies trapped in his stomach like the most lovely cage.

eddie is fucking at 2am when there's enough intoxication to make him look like he's worth it. he's rough and wild, quick and easy. a means to a barely wanted end because he's there and willing and with long enough hair to let people imagine he's someone else.

he should be caged instead of the damn butterflies. he bares his teeth and thrashes his limbs just to fight and see what he can get away with. he laughs loud and brash in the face of sweetness just to see anger, just to see hurt.

he has half a mind to think he's a feral animal that's hardly been trained, performing in some fucked up circus that charges two bucks to see him snarl and hurl insults at anyone who passes by. he bites at the hands that try to touch, try to feed, proving to the onlookers that he's only worth the pocket change they pay to see him.

but steve. he's holding his face like he wants to, holding his hand like it's the most important thing in the world. he's pressing kisses along eddie's jaw without any hurry, without any rush, kissing just to kiss. feeling just to feel. he's like a ray of goddamn sunshine even in the darkness that midnight provides, warming eddie from the inside out.

eddie wants to run. he wants to scream. he wants to feel like he's allowed steve's soft and gentle but he's-

"is this not okay?" and now steve's looking at him with all of whatever he's trying to give him lacing into his face, his eyes and spit slick lips sparkling in the moonlight like a shiny new toy. "do you not like it?"

concern and care are different sides of the same steve shaped coin and if eddie looks hard enough, he can see them blurring together in his frustratingly beautiful sparkling eyes and those damn butterflies start to come back.

"no, it's-" he let's out a sigh, relaxing his tight muscles and sinking into the bed, sinking into whatever steve is willing to give him. "just different, is all. good different, i think."

steve smiles and eddie shakily mirrors it back, before he's ducking his head again and slotting their lips together, fingers still holding tight to eddie's, still cupping his face like it's something precious.

eddie's come to terms with the taste of the metal bars of his cage, teeth wearing down as he tries to bite his way to freedom. maybe this time he'll let himself get used to the taste of soft and gentle smiles if it means loving steve.

some of the most harrowing moments in breaking bad are the moments when hank dehumanizes dead people just because they're drug dealers/manufacturers/users only for walt, who often killed those people in the first place, to clearly feel viscerally uncomfortable with that dehumanization. i'm thinking especially about hank playing gale's tape of him singing and dancing for walt and flynn -- hank is making this dead man dance a little jig for him and he's laughing it up and walt is the only one in the room who seems to feel the full weight of the ghoulishness of it all. and yet walt is the one who ordered gale's murder. he's the reason gale is dead. or hank being so dismissive about krazy-8's death even though he was a dea informant, meanwhile months after murdering krazy-8 walt can't cut the crusts off his sandwiches without thinking about him. it's so.......like imagine that you get murdered and even in death the only person who actually thinks of you as a human being worthy of empathy and consideration is the one who killed you. makes me gnaw at the walls

She's not the very first follower, but she's one of the ones that stayed by the Lamb's side the longest, followed by her ex-lover Lixi. Her and Lixi had 4 kids; Vodka, Ruby, Rolex (don't. talk to me about the names. don't even try.) and a last one that was adopted by someone else. They all lived on the cult grounds and then the Lamb's cannibal thing happened and only Osiris stayed or something whateverrrrrr

She became a caretaker for the Lamb. Any time that wasn't spent looking after kids was spent around the Lamb either for the quiet or to look after them once they started getting bad. The Lamb slowly became super dependent on her, making her feel like she has to stick around until the very end even when they start going "yooo so like... meat am i right eyes emoji fire emoji", because that's her lamb and her leader. or something

Idk i really like the idea of this Corrupted Bitch Lamb having a literal angel figure in their life that they latch onto in such a way that it destroys the angel

Bones will fuck up Stormbringer panels. Specifically the panel of Dazai smiling on the stairs as Chuuya goes to fight the equivalent of Godzilla. that one in particular. they absolutely will fuck it up.

Aaaaaa finally finished this thing, that has been a wip for almost two months now (couse basically, whenever I got too fed up with school or work, I kept adding to it 😅 thank you Dead Apple movie for keeping my sanity safe 🥰)

Putting the art history lessons to a hopefully good use. ☺️

Vanitas Vanitatum: "Vanity of vanities"; A type of painting from the 17th century. A still life depicting objects that remind the viewer of the fugitiveness of time and earthly posessions, pursuits, desires and obsessions. (Such as food, wine, money, jewelry, books etc.)

Chorea Machabæorum: "Dance of the Maccabees"; The dance of the dead is an artistic representation of the power of death. In the medival period such paintings showed people from all social backgrounds, both the living and dead, dancing together: in front of death everyone is equal.

Memento Mori: "Remember that you have to die"; An artistic or symbolic trope acting as a reminder of the inevitability of death.

Also, made a version wher the side thingies are red, but I think I like the black ones better. 😅
