You are profiting (in views, in attention, in feedback) from someone else's work and ideas, who do not get that feedback for sharing their creation.

Photos at Madrid's Victory ball! 💃

We attended our first ball! It was such a dreamlike experience!! It was also our first time doing Regency reenactment so it was a challenge. We haphazardly put together some looks, had a great time learning more about the fashion and the dances and met a bunch of lovely people from all over the world. The palace was stunning, the live band was wonderful and the food delicious, it was an unforgettable night 🥰

Hii! I'm a HUGE fan of your art!

I'm a beginner in digital art and I wanted to ask: How do you draw hair and eyes?? And colour them in?? I'd love a speedpaint along with an explanation if it's not a struggle! Have a nice day :)

This is funny because I think those two are the worst parts of my drawings LMAO

Eyes... usually I don't draw them really detailed, normally I go with dark on the top (inside the dark I add the inbetween color for contrast) very light on the bottom.

for expressions, believe in the power of eyelids + brows

for hair I just break down into "blocks" (I do with this with the entire drawing tbh) this way it can be consistent and also easier to color, of course sometimes I change the shape a bit but usually just follow the mold and go from there

for coloring I usually focus on the shadows first, but it depends on the persons hair, like for lloyd it's red, I make the blue very subtle inside the red

or in sora case

some very dark red with blueish and yellow highlights, her hair still looks pink but now it looks more... vibrant?

Man, I miss the internet when you could just freely browse all sorts of niche blogs and fan sites without having to have an account anywhere... There was so much to explore! Now you need to have an account with Instagram and Tiktok before they'll let you see anything, or it's locked behind a paywall on someone's Patreon.

We used to "browse," like we were wandering free in a big pasture, and now it's a "feed," where someone keeps shoveling stuff into a trough in front of your face and you have to keep choking it down.

I miss "Free Range" internet is what I'm saying, I guess. Not this Content Factory Farming crap.

My hot take is that media literacy isn't declining as hard as people say. It has always been shit (see: the reception of Nabokov's "Lolita"). It's just more noticeable now that we have an ability to see all bad takes on the media from a lot of different people.

gotham fic idea/prompt i might add onto later but who knows

the bats face a powerful meta/magic user/idk who is able to basically trap people in an illusion of some significant night in their lives--see notes for more on that. in order to get out, they have to literally fight the illusions. everyone can see them doing this, but they can't necessarily see other people. maybe they get regressed back to the age where it happened, idk yet.

so. bruce get hit just when the fight is slowing down (someone didn't secure the criminal properly) and suddenly the entire battlefield is overlayed by an image of a circus---but not just any circus. screams everywhere, crying, gunshots, brutal sounds of people being killed and tortured everywhere. the games are all disgusting facsimiles of circus/carnival games--whack-a-mole with people's heads, darts games aiming at people, etc. all from the gotham tv show.

bruce, seventeen years old, with a painted face, kidnapped by a man with red hair and a sewn-on face, a man who looks so much like the joker... but isn't.

the man calls him bruce. the joker /never/ calls him bruce (not in front any of the batfam, anyway), always batman. because the joker likes to take credit for creating the batman.

but the truth is that both the batman and the joker were created by the same man: the man with the sewn-on face. jerome. a name they had never heard before.

idk, thinking of the bats' response to this is fun. what is also fun is imagining a de-aging situation or a ressurection situation--maybe at the same time? who knows!

actually...

looking at a bunch of my old favorite mutuals blogs that have been inactive for years. i miss them, even if i never really talked to any of them. when you're mutuals with a person for so long they become a comforting presence even without talking. you see them every day and read their posts about their thoughts or feelings or about what's going on in their life and so on. and they just become a part of your daily life in such a subtle way.

and then one day they just never post again. without warning. shit sucks. i actually hate it.

applying for academic library job and feeling once again huge amounts of shame and distress at my lack of publications. How to explain to hiring committee I was busy first not killing myself and second learning a bunch of practical skills, only some of which apply to the job at hand, so I didn't have time to publish any dumb papers. I'm crying btw.
