Hold Them Down: Unpopular opinion probably, but I love this one. The vocals are beautiful, the writing is just that good. And it's the perfect villain song. It gives no wiggle room for people "Oh but he's just misunderstood." (yes this is something I've heard people say). And it speaks the hell to me. It's a uncomfortable I understand.

I Can't Help But Wonder: I LOVEEEEE THIS ONE. Honestly me putting any song with Telemachus is third place should tell you just how good Odysseus and Hold Them Down are.

The Challenge: It's soooo prettyyyy. And it's the first time we see actual Penelope. ewoigbweovweobg

Would You Fall In Love With Me Again: Yeah Ikik 'how dare you put this so low blah blab blah'. I love this song, it's pretty as fuck, and so nice to listen to, and the joy i get from it is everything. My favorite part is when Ody's voices gets higher as he gets angrier. Dude might as well have been given divorce papers. And then Pen joinin in-10/10. But the others i love and relisten to more.

Conclusion: Perfect saga 1000/10 no song was bad. shakin, cryin, and the like. Would do so again.

Semi-critical, but more in the analysis than tearing things down sort of way? Idk man I had a good time. Peace and love on planet Earth

I have to preface: I liked it. I liked it a lot. I was giggling and trembling with excitement in that theater the entire time and I look forward to seeing this movie again eventually

oh my GOSH the pacing was fast. I understand why - they tried to fit a pretty meaty story in under two hours - but MAN. In terms of being a sonic fan, I've had more fun with these movies as they go on. In terms of cohesive films, I think they've been declining (AGAIN I LOVED this movie it was FUN but there were many plot gaps)

Opening with Maria strumming Live and Learn was such a good choice - not just as a callback, but because when the song reappears later, it's as a motif of hers. I think that makes it quite a bit more powerful here than it was in SA2.

Is Walters dead??? I assume he isn't because Rockwell wasn't too-too surprised to see "him" and she'd probably know the best of anyone how grievous his injuries were, but we never actually see him again after the first 20 minutes or so

The Maria segments were So Good. Easily my favorite parts

Actually the first act in general was probably my favorite part of the movie

Internal battle between "Shadow's voice acting is kind of flat" and "Shadow's autism has never been stronger"

A lot of the lore changes make sense! The game lore is very fun, but it's needlessly complicated, especially for something in film format. From the sound of Shadow's new background, this means a) Gerald did NOT make shadow (sidesteps the question of "why is shadow a hedgehog"), b) there is no biolizard (would have made this movie very overstuffed and is such a specific thing), and c) no Black Arms (allows the movieverse to sidestep the weird racial implications of All of That).

I don't think I'm a fan of living Gerald. He was fun, he just wasn't really Gerald. He didn't match Shadow's freak :(

Agent Stone I love you. I'm so happy you'll get to play a bigger role now

Some of the Tom and Maddie choices were... hm. Don't think I like how "Rachel" was used, though I'm not the best person to speak on that. There surely could have been better ways to demonstrate GUN's incompetence.

Actually wait I did have something to say about Agent Stone. I'd really thought he'd be the one to give Shadow The Talk. Not only would it be funny, but he was one of the few characters close enough to Shadow to get a read on him (ily Sonic but I don't think Shadow ever actually told Sonic Maria's name??? their bonding was cute but it was definitely another plot gap). During the guac scene, I kept waiting for Stone to say something that would prompt Shadow's "Is this really what Maria would have wanted?" later on. Oh well

For that matter, I'm really looking forward to seeing what deleted scenes didn't make it into this film. There must have been so much scrapped content and different iterations

LOVEEEEE that Gerald and Shadow were both very explicitly willing and eager to die. Wish the emotion of those revelations could have carried through the rest of the movie a bit more or had a few more moments' rest to marinate

If Eggman is gone for good then that means we'll need other villains. It is time to Bring Back The Sonic Pantheon (I am dragged offstage)

As soon as they mentioned multiple post-credits scenes, I knew it'd be those. Very satisfying to be right.

My theater was completely full with 8-12 year old children and they had a blast and I'm very happy for them all

Knuckles stole the show for me. He was perfect. No notes.

Very excited to see where Shadow's character goes from here now that he's past his revenge arc. I wish he'd gotten more screen time; the first two acts almost pushed him into side character territory.

Most are gen, because I loved the vague vibe of friendship within the game. I personally loved this because we start right after the final duel, and Jin must say goodbye to Omi Village. I think this was written before the author played Iki Island, but still, it is really beautiful. We have so many nostalgic scenes and everyone caring in their own way for Jin—yes, this was the end of a wonderful journey, but as a reader you know (and reassured) Jin will be seeing everyone again.

omg i also love thinking about the ADA (esp dazai cause he’s my fav character) just being platonic w reader :) i have a whole backstory made up in my head. she was 16 and joined the ADA just a couple months before dazai so she was the baby of the group for a while before the twins and kenji and everyone else joined.

i like thinking of her ability to be some sort of prophetic one; basically what i imagined is that her ability is connected to a tapestry that she embroiders, and so when she starts doing that there’s sort of like a protective barrier around her body so she cant be hurt. she embroiders what’s happening in the mission and its possible future events ifykwim as it goes on. so then threads from the tapestry will kinda go out of her barrier, go to find whichever members of the ADA are in the mission, and guide them towards what’s the best decision. like they have to follow the thread and if they don’t follow it it’ll kinda tug on them. its only visible if they’re allowed to see it so their enemies cant tell where they’re going next. and then when the mission is over she’ll kinda snap out of it in a complete daze with her tapestry and thread in front of her being like Wait what cause i imagine the ability puts her in sort of a sleep state and she doesn’t actually know what’s going on, the thread does. can u tell im still obsessed w helaena,,

so yeah i imagine her being pretty close w dazai and kunikida bc they were closest in age to her at the ada for a pretty long time. her and dazai are Extremely annoying when left alone together so kunikida is kind of the mom friend of the group. also i think it would be funny if she got pregnant and went on maternity leave during the entire duration of atsushi joining-the end of season 5 so she comes back and is like Heyyyy guys how’s it been😍😍😍

Watched up until ep 9 so here are more of my abbreviated thoughts, don't want to make this ask too long but many thoughts head never empty about this show and my babygirls.

Ep 5: god what an episode, the official and final break up of my best girls. The scene where Alicent walks into the banquet in that green dress: lifechanging, actual chills, that scene is sooo good and other people don't seem to care about it as much as I do from what I saw online but like that scene is insane, I want to live inside of it; the meaning of the colours, the declaration of war, THE MUSIC (!!)

Ep 6: the shift to the older actors oooh we're here, they're both so excellent and just the tension in this episode, like that's sexual the small council scene uuhm Alicent babes look away and Rhaenyra stop touching that ball there is a touch starved lesbian across from you have some decorum (also Alicent was at her most bitchy (affectionate) this episode and I kind of lived for it)

Ep 7: THE episode. Now why did I have to see that Dae/myra sex scene?? Controversial opinion: the knife scene was more sexual than the Dae/myra sex scene, something something stabbing as a metaphor for gay sex, stabbing your homoerotic situationship after breaking up 10 years ago something something. WHERE IS DUTY WHERE IS SACRIFICE - Olivia that entire scene, yeah I was captivated (also Otto being proud, oh the toxic generational abuse continues yes tragedy)

Ep 8: Viserys losing an eye after not giving a shit Aemond lost an eye and not doing anything, oh I call that poetic justice. Rhaenicent making soft eyes at each other oh the gays are at it again, who let them out? The children continuing their fighting because of the damage their mothers already did, oh the generational conflict continues, cannot bury the hatchet when you have sown hate for years

Ep 9: no one seems to agree online from what I saw, but honestly maybe one of my favourite episodes of the season, maybe that is because I adore Alicent and this episode was all about her in my opinion. The scene between Rhaenys and Alicent, loved that, they could not have played that scene any gayer but maybe that's just me. Otto calling Alicent out about her feelings surrounding Rhaenyra, like at this point the closet is glass sweetie. "Childhood companion", the subtext is there if they ever make it maintext I will sob.

Question: I know the actors have discussed the queer subtext but have any of the writers or directors ever hinted at it as well? It can't be all coincidental right?

ep6 – EMMA AND OLIVIA 🫶 both their introductions are incredible and i'm forever thankful they were cast <3 the small council scene is insane 😵‍💫

ep7 – soooo true this is THEEE episode!!! although ofc every time i think of this episode i redact the dae/myra sex scene bc poor rhaenyra has been thru so much she doesnt need that as well!! also your opinion is not controversial, rhaenicent absolutely have more chemistry, both emma and olivia's performances in that scene are insane god i love them (bonus: the script from the scene)

ep8 – i loveeeee this episode sooo much, their children are so poisoned against each other but alicent and rhaenyra cannot help but want to mend their relationship like they yearn for each other so deeply they'll never be free!!!! also aemond is my best friend in this episode i love him <3

ep9 – i love this episode too!!! i don't necessarily subscribe to any "team" but the targtowers are just much more interesting than all of the team black characters (excluding rhaenyra) and i love seeing the inner-workings of the green council. also aegon's coronation scene is so incredible oh tgc the actor you are!!! and "you imbecile" being unscripted like oh that shit is insane 😵‍💫

1. who is your favourite character (s) from TDJ?

ofc has to be none other than kang yohan. i love morally grey characters and yohan’s behaviour in the early episodes really intrigued me with the whole ‘who’s side is he really on?’. and of course now he has become my beloved. truthfully i am no good character understander but i love the depth his character has. and jisung’s acting is also unbelievable. he’s. so. good.

i think that jung sunah is also awesome. she slayed from beginning to end.

2. what is your favourite episode(s) from TDJ?

i loveeeee the first episode - although i have seen it the most! i love the opening scene with the music that shows the contrasts dystopian seoul the show is set in. and of course the iconic ‘235 YEARS!’ that gives me goosebumps everytime. watching that episode just gets me re excited about the show. honestly i love all the court episodes - they’re exciting and cruel and really interesting in regards to the characters and how they react.

3. where do you see your favourite character in 10 years?

i don’t think yohan could stay that long in switzerland without some sort of job, although i think he’d stay away from law. hopefully he’s happy and healing with his live in cook (boyfriend) and elijah coming to visit of course 🥹

4. why do you think tdj fandom continues to this day?

i think yohan’s character is endlessly interesting and the dynamic between him and gaon has so much potential. and there’s so many talented people in the fandom that mean there’s always something to talk about. i think the themes of the show are also always relevant.

5. how did you find the devil judge?

so i saw a tiktok that said something along the lines of ‘how have kdramas progressed from holding hands after 20 episodes to literal flogging scenes ?!’ and my interest was piqued. when i saw that jinyoung was in it my interest was further piqued - got7 fan here and i really liked ‘he is psychometric’. so i gave it a shot and as said was hooked from episode 1 😃😃

I believe when I first heard or saw this AU, it was back in September. Though I didn't think of it as much but it was usually in my FYP, so it was always nice to see it (even though I had no idea what the story was about)

And I guess one day, I got curious (and also most of the DCA fanfic I was reading at the time weren't updated loll) So I decided to check out the AU and let me tell you. I was in awe...

Like the plot was so interesting, the character design were so unique and felt very in line with the characters for a AU. The art itself was always expressive, even it was a simple art piece but even when it was simple, it was still literally able to showcase so much emotion (especially during the flashback scene with eclipse and the interaction between lunar and moon X3)

But it doesn't even end there! I had discovered only RECENTLY!! That there's also AO3 stories of this AU. And of course I had to go read all of it! >:) Though I haven't exactly finished reading all the stories (I'm currently on the Archive of the Celestial Fairies, on the second last chapter :D👍✨) I'm already drawn into the stories you had written.

First of all, thank you so much. I was honestly worried this last chapter was a mess and terrible. Could anyone tell I thought that. I thought that so much. IMPASTA SYNDROME!!!

I loved writing Richie this whole chapter. I think it was just nice to write the way he'd act if he had someone to protect at The Bear. Like, those Girl Dad instincts don't just leave you, when you're at work. he STAYS LOCKED IN!!! And also writing a softer landing for him out of that fucking freezer fight, that was yknow, that was a little treat for me. cats can have a little slami.

I had to look up what the fuck plaster meant. BRITIS HPEOPLE CALL BANDAIDS PLASTERS??!?!?!?1 dramatic. Love it. It might just be the ADHD/Autism diagnosis in me but there's something about the ruffly texture a bandaid on the finger has, that I couldn't stop describing, every time Syd and Chip came in contact.

the holding back is the thing i wanted to talk about

So. There was no specific insult in mind, when it came to him saying 'you're excused', but essentially, I'd been plotting out this fight scene since I literally came up with the series. Like we always planned the roadtrip to lead to here, there was just a lot of different ways it could've gone--

It's actually why I did that Fight/Flight/Freeze/Fawn poll, a few weeks back, if y'all remember. I think the result we got was Freeze? I went with a blend of Freeze and Fawn with a flight escape plan, I feel. Like, sorrysorrysorry here's everything i can do to help also brain is utterly numb and now i will make haste.

But if Fight had gotten the majority? And also just the way I was plotting it in my head, initially?

There were a lot of routes, there was screaming match, there was swinging on him (it would've been an immediate response to the Mikey line), there was actually a completely different scene that would've taken fucking FOREVER but essentially, she would've gone full numb Job Mode and went to serve the Exec, and it would've gotten fucking weird so fast It was gonna be very like Meeting The Wizard behind the curtain type vibe but the Wizard is a fucking bitch and he also thinks you're hot

But the thing is, as I wrote more chapters and got a better idea of Tony's character, it just wouldn't be in her character to do anything that could embarrass Carmen, so she just opted to leave. Oof.

But if we're just going roasting personalities, the immediate comebacks i can think without getting creative

The real 'liferuiners' though? All Mikey related. 100% all Mikey Related. She would've busted out the board game 'Who Knows Your Brother on a Genuine Personal Level' and he would've fucking lost. And that would've been..... shattering

There was also a world where Carmen actually brought up the fuckin' photos, and essentially would've implied she was..... A believe the chicago term is a 'runner'? And THAT would've really had some fuckin' motor mouths running. Very much so 'Am I supposed to apologize for being likable???' AOHGH

It'd essentially be exactly what Carmen did. Picking on exact pain points, in the other. So Carmen's insecurities about his relationship w/ Mikey, and the almost competitive nature he gains around Tony being 'less sharp'. I guess to summarize, Tony's fighting/roasting style, if it's not to fawn, is to match energy

I love doing callbacks-- I feel almost certain Dennys is never gonna happen. But I also don't know what I'm doing, past chapter 15. So. I guess in theory anything is possible. I think we'll probably wrap up not long after that, though. Maybe a Dennys epilogue? Who's to say.

THE RICHIE CHIP SYD SQUAD IS FUN FOR ME. I enjoy having two characters that objectively alone together wouldn't get along but once they have the glue there, they're pretty good.

now that you say there is connection in both T4m and G4m , it reminds me of the scene where Tyme knows what Gran's favorite drink is, which to me was a point where I thought we were in T4m. So it would make a lot of sense that connection throughout the series. And with that theory of G4m and T4m being connected, it leads me to think that BOTH died BUT being connected. And that's why the ending is not all happily 💕😌❤️‍🩹 but more of a mix of reality with their 4m. Sorry I don't know how to put it better.🙏

oh my god great points !! without rewatching i can’t remember if the drink thing could’ve been something he remembered from when they were kids? (like the spicy food or him being afraid of dogs). but if it’s not that then yes!! their 4ms must have been connected.

for me i think there’s more evidence that tyme survived than great. like at 11:03 after tyme realises what’s happening, it starts raining in T4M (as it’s raining irl too) and we see den say “return of spontaneous circulation” which essentially means his pulse has returned to normal and the resuscitation was successful. the only thing that would convince me he died would be if he spent too long trying to get great to wake up too (which I fully understand too! it honestly depends on how you want to look at it).

when i first watched, i thought they both died and they were in a sort of connected afterlife, so i totally see your perspective as well, and I think both theories and explanations work and fit the story, especially as I think it was left intentionally up to interpretation a little.

thank youuu 🥰 my favourite is a big tie honestly because I obviously LOVEEEEE David and Catherine as benedick and beatrice in the 2013 one and the staging/prop work/costuming is ingenius and extra points to josie rourke for letting david be Scottish for that adaptation. my Scottish genes are always delighted to hear his natural accent BUT I NEEEEED MORE PEOPLE TO SEE THE 2019 VERSION.

the 2019 Shakespeare In The Park version of much ado with an all Black cast starring Danielle Brooks and Grantham Coleman as Benedick and Beatrice is so fucking funny. Their verbal jousting is DELICIOUSLY smooth. Especially their delivery of "against my will I am sent to invite you to dinner" sequence. When Beatrice overhears the girls talking about Benedick's feelings for her, Danielle hides in the audience and it's BRILLIANT!

Also, Danielle's Beatrice is my favourite I've ever seen anywhere, even miles more than Catherine's. I just adore the sincere loving rage Danielle gives Beatrice like when she asks Benedick to kill Claudio it's not even funny because you can feel how much she loves Hiro. the way Danielle plays that scene is so gut wrenching and it makes Benedick's "live well, love me and mend" just that much more beautiful because her pain is so real and the conflict of her feeling so happily in love with Benedick but so much rage for Hiro is sincerely portrayed I just adore her!!! Danielle is so fucking good I wish more people hyped up her 2019 performance 💕

Also huge shout out to the local production I saw in Sydney in 2020 which was not the most amazingly acted or staged BUT they did slightly rewrite the ending so that Hiro doesn't marry Claudio and tells him he's an ass, AND kinda hinted she and Don Pedro have a little somethin somethin and instead of a wedding they just all had a party to be like "finally benedick and beatrice stopped being idiots!" it was so great!

tbh I find something to love about all versions of much ado because i just love it so fucking much. like I even love the joss whedon film because that's the power of benedick and beatrice and that's the power of the fact that Shakespeare basically perfected the rom com with them.

oh boy. uh…so many. for the purposes of this question though i’ll share a bit that i have not been able to stop thinking about since i wrote it. now if only i could finish the thing it’s in…

“I heard you had a wife back in England,” Gyro says, pausing in the middle of his sentence to lick his fingers. “You miss her?”

He can’t believe what he’s hearing. He blinks, head still swimming. “She’s dead.”

“That isn’t what I asked!”

“It was a stupid question.”

“Did you like her? Or was it one of those arranged ones?”

“It suited our purposes. I don’t—“

“What the hell kind of answer is that?! You were married! Swore an oath to each other! And that’s all you have to say about it?”

Gyro’s eyes are huge, opened too wide. He’d paused in the middle of cleaning his fingers, the smallest one still glistening with spit. His lipstick’s almost entirely gone, only a faint smudge of hideous green at the corners of his mouth. This close, Diego can see the hairs he’d missed shaving, the shadow of a mustache growing after a day without a razor. Traces of slickness still cling to his chin, his cheeks.

He’s ugly like this, Diego thinks.

“You’ve never married,” Diego says.

💕 What is your favorite fic that you’ve written?

honestly it’s this elden ring one

i really enjoyed writing it and i still think the d-rogier situation is SO entertaining. i really like the vibe that i managed to capture with this one and feel like it’s tonally consistent and fitting with the style of the setting, it maintains that fun fromsoft ambiguity and i just am really happy with it! yeah!

💡How many WIPs do you currently have?

uhhh. i’ve got…3 diegyro oneshots at various stages of progress, a separate document full of potential diegyro oneshot wip ideas, then i’ve got the two…three. three longfics (technically collaborations with per!) that are extensively bulletpointed and i think about them often but are likely to never be finished. one day maybe…i would love to bring at least 2 of them into reality. one is just kind of a steel ball run retelling/au situation that doesn’t have much to do with shipping, the second is a plot-heavy sequel to that retelling and it’s kind of a diegyro manifesto in a way. and the third is a diegyro “bad end” au that turns out…not so bad? it just takes years to get to that point.

i also keep thinking about writing a bloodborne au but that’s in the oneshots folder. i just started a bodyswap fic…sigh.

🎨 If someone were to make fanart of your work, what fic or scene would you hope to see?

oh jeez. i think rogier taking off the gloves or d trying to cover the armor’s eyes from the elden ring one would be fun. there’s some bits from some of my diegyro wips that i would loveeeee to see fanart of but they’d have to be finished in order for that to happen…anything to do with the corpse eyes and the doubling is always awesome though i get so excited. ugh or the diegyro nasty woundcare situation i’ve got cooking in a wip…or ok this isn’t my fic it’s one of per’s but the scene with dream gyro kneeling down to kiss diego and also take his head is one i’ve wanted to draw for YEARSSSSS but haven’t managed to yet.

ahh the recent chapter! So good and the spice? Whew it came in extra hot 🥵!! I had to pause every few minutes to catch my breath, I couldn’t even sit there and read it through 😭

And that sub lo’ak stuff going on?! YESS I hope we get more of that.. there’s just something about us being on top and taking care of him that just does it for me.

Also I can’t even imagine what their tails were doing.. how crazy they probably were wagging or how erratically they were moving about during our little… s*x scene.

I loveeeee the idea that Lo’ak is fully a switch and especially felt it fit within star girl since he’s super gentle with reader, I just pictured him needing some reassurance after everything!
