this is going to be a long one, so prepare yourselves, cause I need to get some stuff off my chest

All that’s wrong in the BO fandom and with BO themselves:

1. Proper media training - I think none of the boys in the band, aside from Noah, have proper media training and it shows in interviews. I feel like, with them growing so big over the last year, they need to take some proper time and do that, so we can save each other the little awkward moments where interviewers ask weird questions or make even weirder statements and the guys just sit there looking a little lost.

2. Their crew needs to chill (at times) - Now I understand that every fandom has got their crazies, it’s a part of the lore, but come on! I’ve seen not once or twice, crew members being mean towards the fandom, calling us dumb and whatnot. If I see something I don’t like or find weird/stupid/pointless/delusional, I might share it with my friends, but I won’t go around posting about it on my story/twitter. There are people in this fandom that go overboard and need to be shown the door, but when you show disrespect to one, you show disrespect to all and that, I feel, needs to be stated somewhere. Matt is unnecessarily mean sometimes and so are Steven and other crew members. I feel like if I were in their position, I’d probably want to call out people on their shit too, but no need to do it ALL THE TIME.

3. The band is too closed off - And don’t get me wrong here, I understand and respect boundaries, but it sounds and feels a little contradictory when the lead singer of the band says in an interview that he feels closer to some of the artists he listens to, because he’s read their life story. The irony in that is massive. When you deny fans of little things like posts here and there, sharing a little something personal (example: Dove Cameron, Halsey, Thirty Seconds to Mars are all artists that make and write their own music and I’ve heard at least one story from each of them on how a personal event inspired said song). So when you deny fans of little things like that, you get obsessive people who try ro dig up your personal life, just to feel a bit more connected to your music. Everything can be regulated, I feel, if done and said right.

4. They all (the band and crew) need to collectively accept the fact that the band’s becoming massive, which means that they will attract all kinds of fans. Fans that will be there only for Noah. Fans that will be there only for TikTok hits like “Just Pretend” and whatnot. And they’d benefit so much more from those people if they just knew how to use everything to their advantage. Now one little comment from the crew sets the whole fandom ablaze. They’re not a small town band supporting bigger acts on tour anymore.

i have been listening to this album for the past few hours n i don’t even know what word to use to describe it calling it good or great feels disrespectful. it’s so personal n raw n heavy it made me cry a lot letter to god (1998) especially my goddd… i’m so happy she is w us she deserves to grow old w her son. i wish i could tell her she is an artist to admire just like the artists she “impersonated” to create this. i can’t choose just one but dog years + arsonist + letter to god (1983) + letter to god (1998) r all my favorites rn. i feel like my chest has been cracked open listening to this album life of the spider is heartbreaking n the part in darwinism when she says u all know something that i don’t u all learned something that i fear i’ll never know n then keeps repeating u all know something that i don’t… there’s just so much here this is her best work n i think we r lucky to have her n her music. thank u ashley for sharing this w us <3

first of all. only girl living in la is an INSANE way to start an album. Like i knew i was absolutely in for it seeing the track list and that we were Starting with a 6 minute long song i was like Oh she loves me specifically she knew id been tormented by songs that are 2 minutes long for too long. i dont think ive ever finished the first song on an album and been, like, scared to listen to the rest of it before (good thing)

life of the spider- i knew there was a tori amos song on the album and the one tori amos song im really familiar with is me and a gun so of course i was terrified .and i was right to be. love a song i cant listen to without having a panic attack one of my favorite genres. insanely haunting song i cant really listen to this one casually yet or possibly ever i have to like sit down and prepare. this morning i saw a spider in my bathroom and started crying. tomorrow more of the same. "favorite" not in the way where i listen to it a lot favorite in the way where i can barely listen to it at all

also one more thing i feel like in general the album is organized very well does that make sense. like the songs are in a specific order that is good and makes sense. only girl living in la -> ego -> dog years -> letter to god 1974 is an insane run of songs generally let alone first on the album but also it like. makes sense why theyre in that order. also darwinism -> lonely is the muse -> arsonist -> life of the spider i can say the same of. like yeah thats the exact order those songs should go in. this is really not a Shuffling Album to me at ALL theres a specific order they all go in and i really like that Bc half the time These Days it feels like everythings so focused on having 2 minute long songs with 15 second clips that blow up on tiktok that its always nice to have an album thats like. I call it a fling because with how they were acting it just felt like both parties were looking for an escape. Megan just got out of a marriage and hadn't even filed for divorce. Colson was just on the same island with another girl lying about electronic poisoning while he texted Megan. At what point was any of that to be taken seriously? When they invited the world renown astrologist, who was notorious for bad readings? Like c'mon, we can't truly be surprised that no one saw this as random true love on the set of a bad movie with terrible acting and and even worse budget.

Now I'm not going to dive into the race thing too much, because neither I or you brought it up. But I wouldn't say his audience has been exactly welcoming to women of color to begin with so I'll just leave it there.

Now where I do agree is that some people would not accept any woman around Colson, but that would not be the majority opinion. A lot of people want him to find a good life with someone, and whether or not that's Megan, I don't truly know but I know that Megan and Halsey are not being unfairly disliked. Both women did things that made a lot of his audience lose respect for them and that's just the reality. Now amber, I can agree that amber was unfairly disliked back then.

Jack rounded the corner just in time to see you hastily wipe a tear from your cheek with the back of your hand. It was no use trying to hide it though, he could tell from your puffy eyes, you’d been crying for some time.

Approaching with furrowed brow he asked, “What’s wrong doll?” His voice was laced with genuine concern as he carefully handed you a clean handkerchief.

“It’s nothing,” you said dismissively, accepting it with trembling fingers. You dabbed at your swollen eyes and pronounced “I’m fine,” but the words sounded unconvincing even to you. 

“I don’t think you are,” he said shaking his head. “Does this have something to do with that fella you’ve been seeing?” he asked sympathetically. You nodded before admitting your boyfriend had broken up with you in the most painful way and Jack felt his heart drop. 

That sensation was quickly replaced by rage and he clenched his fists thinking of how he wanted to kill the man for treating a kind, intelligent woman like you with such disrespect. However, he suppressed his own feelings seeing that you needed a shoulder to cry on more than you needed a hitman at the moment. He softened his stance and asked you to continue.

Feeling safe there with Jack’s supportive gaze, you found yourself confiding exactly how you were feeling. “I thought he really loved me, you know? He said he’d die for me. He was always boasting he’d take a bullet for me,” you nodded remembering all the lavish promises made that came to nothing. “God, it sounds so fucking stupid now, right?” you laughed bitterly, attempting to hide your trembling lip and the tears that welled in your eyes. 

Jack took one look at you and pulled you into his chest, hugging you tightly as you shook with sobs. “Hey, hey…look at me,” he demanded, tilting your chin toward him gently. “You’re not stupid. He is for letting someone as wonderful as you get away,” he told you.

“Thanks, Jack,” you managed to sniffle. 

“Anytime, sweetheart,” he assured you warmly. Cocking his head to study you, he pronounced, “I bet you haven’t eaten all day. You wanna get something?” he offered, extending his arm to you. You nodded and took hold of him as he lead the way to the nearest diner. As you walked in comfortable silence, you leaned into his tall frame for support, cheek brushing the shoulder of his coat as you took solace in the feeling of someone looking after you for a change.

"Welcome back, Blue Team," Roland greets. "Chief, there's a message waiting for you in your quarters."

The green and gold helmet tilts just a few degrees to one side. "Send it through to my HUD, I'll read it on the way to S-Deck."

"It's not digital, sir. It's paper."

There's a healthy pause. Chief nods. "...thanks."

Roland salutes and the holotank flickers back to gray.

John's mind drifts as he goes through the post-mission motions. Paper meant official. At the very least, paper meant important. Not even the frequent attempts to put him up on a different, higher-ranking shelf usually come to his attention through such formal avenues. He wonders what's wrong. He wonders if someone else has died. If his team has any thoughts on the matter, they're keeping quiet about it.

They've all drifted in separate directions by the time he makes it to their quarters. Kelly had nudged his shoulder and jogged off down a hallway. Fred had mentioned getting something to eat. Linda had simply disappeared somewhere between the equipment lockers and the door. He enters the room alone.

The letter sits on the desk. The envelope is plain, unmarked; no seals or insignias, just his name and his number, printed in writing that looks as though it's trying to be cleaner than it naturally is. John-117. For a second, he considers it might be Halsey, but she would have dropped the number altogether. Besides, he knows her handwriting. This isn't it.

He turns it over in his hands, crosses the room, reaches under Fred's pillow for the knife they all knew he kept there. He opens the letter with a clean, careful cut. Official or not, it still had to mean something to the person who'd sent it. Why else would they have gone to all this trouble?

The message inside is handwritten in the same script as the envelope, but there's less care paid to its appearance. Letters bleed into one another, words are scribbled out and rewritten; there's a sense of desperation in it. Not life or death, not the frantic scrawling of someone running out of time, but the desperation to get the right words out in the right order, no matter how messy the process was.

He reads it over again. Three, four times. Different phrases find sticking points between his ribs on each pass. Whoever had written this was right. Technically, this letter was nothing new. But it was...earnest. Heartfelt. Sincere in a way so different from the usual flavors of attention he received.

If he really wanted to, he could find out who wrote it. But anonymity was a precious miracle amidst the meticulously-tracked digital trails of the modern age. It felt borderline disrespectful to rob this person of that, along with their hope that he might...

He shakes his head. Folds the letter. Returns it to the envelope. Whoever they were, he could do them this simple favor and hope that, somehow, they could feel it.

there are always fans who overcompensate whenever bts interact with a woman in a professional setting, and it’s because they want to appear like they are not a y/n, so they go over and beyond to look like they’re completely okay with the female involvement, and in doing so just bring out weird takes and suggest that bts can’t interact with a woman without it being sexual/romantic. it’s disrespectful to the woman - because ur seeing her role as only that - and it’s disrespectful to bts because you’re assuming they’re incapable of female friendships. with a fandom so big it’ll be near impossible to find a balance of normal people lol but i’ve looked at the initial reactions and she’s been well received! since this song is one jk didn’t himself write but rather chose when he heard it, and since i assume it’ll be heavily promoted, i am fairly sure it’ll have a vague romantic plot line but i do sort of wish the conversation steered in the direction of them as actors, because she is a really good one, and this will be something new for jungkook too!! that being said, of the other female appearances in mvs, like halsey and becky g and soyoon, there was barely any romantic plot - although they were also collabs so that could be why! i don’t know han sohee too well but she does come across as dressing similar to jungkook, and she loves a nice tattoo too, but she has also been in a drama with hyungsik and was at the dream premiere so, maybe she’s friendly with all of wooga? i’m intrigued as to how this collab came about

One of the things I dislike in Kpop, is that female and male artists aren't 'allowed' (not sure if it's actually a rule, or just a societal thing) to interact normally. In real life, men and women are very capable to just interact friendly without it being a big deal. I've had more male friends than female ones, and there was no romance involved with any of them, from both sides. I get that it was probably to prevent gossip and rumors, but it makes every time they do interact with a woman this really big deal.

I look at this like a business deal. Jk wanted an actress for his mv, they chose her because they liked her style and her acting probably. That's it for me. I hope they got along well, but I did see her with Wooga squad at the Dream premiere I think, so yeah he probably already knew her. Nice link you made there.

Personally I'm completely fine with her in his mv, I'd be completely fine if they were friends, and I'd be completely fine with them being more (just dont think that's the case). But women and men working together shouldn't be this big of a deal. Most men and women are perfectly capable of being normal towards each other.
