i desperately need a new car. like really bad. but my paychecks aren't even enough for a $1000 down payment right now and i also want to change my name which is a $300 fee. so i have to wait a long time for that. and there aren't any jobs hiring part time for extra income that i can do rn -_-

All I want in 2025 is to be able to move out

#partly for peace of mind #partly for self actualization #partly to not have to commute so far #but primarily so that I can have a space I can arrange however I want #to have an actual room to use as a sewing studio and not have it be the desk in my bedroom #it’s so hard to save up money on my current salary because 2/3 of it immediately goes to loan payments and bills #but I’m gonna do it somehow #all I want is a clean manufactured home in a trailer park within 30 minutes of the museum #manifesting #but also strategizing #sewing and experimental archaeology are what bring me the most joy #and that is what I want to build my future for #that is what I want to be doing #researching and making and doing things #and if I can get a place of my own that’ll be a big step towards that goal #especially because investing in a trailer home will make me feel more secure than renting #if most of my money is going to a monthly payment I’d rather it be for something I will actually own at some point #it’s just saving up for the down payment that’s card #but a trailer home will cost me about as much as my degree did and I’ve almost paid off those private loans #so I know that it is an achievable goal in the not too distant future #my private student loans are almost paid off then I’ll work on paying down my credit card balances #and my car payment is just background noise because when I’m driving 500 miles a week for work I’m glad I invested in a newer car #the car payment I’ve accepted will just be there for a couple more years #but the private student loans and credit cards I think I can take care of this year #and then I’ll be able to put more away each month #I think I’ve got 2 years max before I actually go insane if I can’t move out #though Lizzie Borden was 32 so that gives me 6 more years before reaching the point of homicide as a coping mechanism #a very normal and healthy thought to have

#looking at budget and feeling nauseous #i don't know how im going to afford. anything #i make approx $2400 a month. i have $450 in credit card bills. i have $200 in student loans. i have $120 in car insurance.#lets set a monthly grocery budget of $150. add another $50 for gas money. that gets me to $970 in monthly bills so far.#that gives me $1430 leftover. lets assume my car payment is gonna be $200 so thats $1230.#ive been told electricity bills in the summer can be fucking atrocious so lets go high and say $300. thats $930 for rent.#which is... not terrible ig.#i just. hhhhhhhhhh. i hate this i hate this i hate this i feel sick i want to not be an adult i want things to be EASY.

a dear friend’s parents are offering to give us 3K to get the car repaired. fucking. a big pile of money fell into our laps. oh my gods. because they have more than they need and they are happy to share it, because to do is a mitzvah, a good deed, and they’re the kind of people who like to help.

bruh idek what i'm supposed to do at this point. like the only way i could physically make enough money to pay all of my bills including making a payment of $250 on my credit card (which would have me making payments for the next four years btw), my student loans, and my current rent, and be able to reasonably afford to eat i'd have to make like $2500 after tax, so basically 21/hr. i have no fucking clue how to make that much money

#i'm really hoping the extra sales/repair money from this current job is worth it #but it did piss me off that the manager is talking about cutting my hours back to 32 from 39 after my training is over #i'm gonna talk to him and tell him i was not signed on for part-time i was hired to do full time work #but even then just the baseline pay after taxes and health insurance is just barely enough for me to reasonably live and that's WITHOUT pay #paying my rent bc my parents are paying it for me rn :/#and its like its not just one bill it's like all of my main shit is so expensive #i can't get my car insruance down my car payment is 330 a month #and i cant get out of paying my student loans unless i want to tank my credit #i just feel so fucking stuck rn #i wouldnt even care about having ot have my nose to the grindstone if i could look forward to saving money to do fun things in the future b #but i'm literally so fucking far from that reality it's not even funny #literally the only reason i havent gone crazy and am still doing things every now and again is bc i've put myself in debt 😭

u guys remember how I said I wanted to try and get a car this year as one of my resolutions… after months of researching I think I found the one I want. Finally. I am so sick of reading abt and looking at cars 😭

#I want to try and buy one by may but idk how realistic that is #depends on a few things #it’s a car from 2009-10 and can go for 4-7k which is not BAD considering how highly rated it is #it’s just the nearest ones are like 5 hours away lol 💔#I also don’t know if I can save that much up that fast #I haven’t been able to save much money bc I keep having to loan family money 😰#realistically if I want this car it’ll probably be more like. Oh! I paid off my car today!!

#now the only debt i have is the credit card debt i racked up these past few months because i changed my spending to pay my car iff sooner #i realized i was paying way more interest on my car loan than on my discover so i switched the percentages to favor paying my car vs my cc #now that thats over ill be able to pay this down pretty quick and finally dtart saving for a potential move in the diaant future #adulting is exhausting #but i feel like im doing some things right
