Maybe Im just broken, but I'm pretty sure I'm allowed to be happy about having an interview after weeks of searching. And Im pretty sure Im allowed to be sad that all you said was "yay!" And then didn't even ask where or what for. And I know Im moody and irritable and argumentative. And look like I'm going to fly off the handle or break down weeping at any moment That's the result of hating your life and your current job so much it makes you sick. It's the result of sleepless nights trying desperately to work through it instead of letting despair rule. Of bad meals because you don't posses the energy to cook something better than ramen and paycheck to paycheck (despite being an ASM) is barely enough even when you kick your 2 dollar a day energy drink. And every freaking dollar is accounted for. The thing is I cant say any of that to you or her or anyone.

There’s no such thing as work-life balance for neurodivergent & chronically ill people.

This is because everything in my life requires work:

maintaining friendships

keeping up with my hygiene

managing bills

making money

remembering my basic needs

sleeping regularly

outputting creatively

All requires some aspect of work for me.

And when everything in your life requires work, your balance goes out the window.

If you're neurodivergent and overwhelmed — I see you.

If you're chronically ill and overwhelmed — I see you.

You're not dysfunctional.

You're not incapable.

You're doing your best.

The suspense of being different somehow and left to wonder how and when. The tension of knowing that something is off and you can't find where it hurts. The Adventure Zone gets it.
