Turns out, not only is he a fraud he's also a climate-change denialist (not because he doesnt believe in it, lobbyists just pay him).

Harry and Breanna are ideologically seperated? Dean Alreadyforgothisname drops a tech billionaire, which feels like either someone we'll return to later in the episode or a future mark.

Elliot is stealing the camerafeed for Breanna, But gets spotted by someone who redirects him elsewhere to fix whatever needs fixing. Parker complains that college campusses, campussi? Campi? are too easy. The one way to prevent Elliot from kicking your ass: Be someone he genuinely likes and/or pities. (he's gonna be evil isnt he? Obligatory third act twist) Harry cant distract this guy too long, They find the stuff (its behind the whiteboard) but while Parker manages to hide Breanna is found --- Breanna, when a mark says "oh you're the janitor" your response is "yes let me just take the trash out", confirm their suspicions and biases. But now that you've failed the slam dunk exit time to flatter his glasses and ego, (and bait him with a new, promising student he can plagiarise next) He tries to bait her with an impossible question, but she sees through it and exposits that she actually knows what she's talking about. But breanna has made herself an opening next monday --- So he's looking to "sell" (techcically lease) the patent to this clean fusion research to an oil company.

Mr "genius" doesnt seem to understand what "installed backwards"means.

Breanna stalls and redirects the oilguy, Floyd is about to interfere with Elliot. Harry is going to request the hearing,

Hardison, you ducked up your coverstory in the first line. A tech billionaire admitting that their people did the work not themselves? God if only we lived in a world where that really happened. (i mean an ideal world obviously wouldnt have billionaires in the first place but one step at a time)

Gray has taken the bait. Sophie boner-baits him into a rush decision.

Problem with a violin scam, what if they have an actual buyer lined up. --- Ok so list of problems: Getting Emma in the room, Goading Gray to over-extend. Getting rid of a billionaire's security. thats 1 big problem and like, 2 quarters of a problem. (Emma is the legit issue, anxiety sucks)

Huh this tech billionaire is actually rather open minded and sensible. Ah they let him realise they're conning him to move the guards out of play.

All the janitors working together to funnel this guy into his doom. Gray tries to prevent Emma from meeting the Tech Billionaire just in time for commercial break. (he's about to gloat on a wire, while the billionaire is locked in a box with a functioning speaker hearing him admit everything) --- Oh yeah the billionaire went to school here, he's been in Gray's class and knows enough science to know that when a professor claims to have all the answers rather then admit "i dont know that, i'll look into it" from time to time its a big red flag. Obviously fuck billionaires, but on the scale of fictional billionares this guy is pretty good.

Just informed that as of late 2022 DC fixes this in Harley Quinn #15 and Shadow War Zone #1, and she is now a psychologist.

Ok, but, I need to rant though because this has stuck with me for so long-- because it's not that sometimes she's one sometimes she's the other, that there are different versions of Harley Quinn. That I'm fine with, or that she has a dual degree NOOO. Let me tell you.

It starts with BTA. The origin. Batman The Animated series says Dr. Harleen Quinzel is interning at Arkham and is seen wearing a short white lab coat.

She is then giving a classic on the couch therapy session.

Psychiatrists do give therapy (at their discretion) so fine.

Psychiatrists do not intern. It's possible the writers meant residency or rotation and since Harley is wearing a short white coat, the coats of doctors in training, that could fly.

OR

They meant clinical hours which you need to get your license to be a licensed therapist and a psychologist. If that were the case she wouldn't be able to give therapy by herself and wouldn't already have the title doctor. Further, if she went right through school and got her PhD right away, she wouldn't need any hours if she already has it because she has a PhD.

Now that, I can be fine about, what starts to get fuzzy is when they have Harley say' " I was a psychiatrist I have my PhD in etc or I did my thesis on..." Constantly matching psychiatrist with the credentials of a psychologist in the same sentence.

Which happens in Bird of Prey, a large amount of comic books, the HQ show, Injustice 2 etc.

She will state or someone will state along the lines of I was a psychiatrist/ working as a psychiatrist and I did my thesis/got my PhD etc.

Which is an incorrect combination, that means she's a psychologist. Which is fine, but she would not be wearing a lab coat doing her work because she's not that kind of doctor and she doesn't work in a lab. She'd wear regular clothes, but she's specifically drawn with a lab coat in her flashbacks (Harley Quinn show does this despite saying she only has her PhD) which tells me someone out there might think a doctor level mental health professionals are like a medical doctor but have a PhD instead but still works in hospitals. Which is wrong.

You see, I can forgive BTA because Harley jokes about having gone to medical school in the show multiple times so clearly they figured it out eventually, which explains why she wears a short lab coat in her origin despite the beginning mistake about interning, but 31 more years of this!?? 31 fricken years!! You mean to tell me you can create numerous overarching timelines and other worlds and various versions of the same characters but you can't differentiate between a psychiatrist and a psychologist? FOR 31 YEARS!? Despite her source material finally eventually stating that she is a medical doctor, DC still did and still does get it wrong (31 years!!). That's beyond lazy writing, BEYOND it's what is the poison of the comic industry, they just don't care. They don't care and I hate it, don't peddle out this BS on paper, actually write something good for once. A Google search is all it would take. What are your editors for? Do you even have any?

This always cracks me up a bit and I smile but Harley should have an M.D not a PhD or have both, but a lot of media have her character say she has a PhD. Her origin story says she is a psychiatrist which means she must be a DO/MD.

Since they keep screwing this up, just change it to her being a psychologist already

"I..I can't do this anymore Rob." 

The heavy sigh on the other end of the line was laced with exhaustion, but not the type that would be fixed with a restful night. This was the type of exhaustion that resulted from one too many missed dinners and far too little time spent actually being with each other.

Distracted as he was, the man stilled, ice pouring through his body, the chill of her words ran deep.

"Wh-what do you m-mean?" "Jenna?!"

Rob's grip on his cellphone tightened, his fingers dappled in white, as if he could hold on to the woman he loved simply by force.

"Goodbye, Rob."

The silence deafening as he pulled the device from his ear, Rob's expression of shock quickly shifted to horror and then dismay as he realized what had just happened.

An hour had passed by the time he ran up the stairs to his front door, hastily shoving the key into the lock after dropping them twice. Pushing the front door open, the harsh sound of the wood bouncing off the wall echoed through the entry. He barely noticed. Striding through the house, he stopped short upon reaching the dining room.

Four tapered candles sat in crystal holders, the tip of each wick frayed and singed with obsidian. Perfect white plates resting atop ruby chargers, matching linen napkins were artfully arranged with the good silver.

In the center of the table, a half bottle of wine sat open, the cork abandoned next to the single wine glass; one drink remaining at the bottom.

Approaching the table, Rob reached out, fingers trembling as he picked up a single sheet of paper, his name scrawled on the front in her looping penmanship. 

Opening the note, only two words met his blurred vision:

'I'm sorry'

Frantic, he turned the paper over, hoping for something more. In his haste, he'd neglected to notice the brass key that had dropped from it. Picking it up, he recognized it as the one he'd given her to his house a few months prior.

Having landed next to a medium-sized box, Rob's focus slid to the bright blue paper, a black satin bow tied to the top. 

For the second time that evening, a sense of dread overcame the man. With shaking hands, he dropped the paper and picked up the gift. 

Pulling on one end of the ribbon, the satin fell from the box as Rob worked to remove the paper.

A sleek black frame surrounded the scroll of paper the cardiologist had printed for him that illustrated his heart-rate. Months of hard work and speech therapy had paid off, and, during his last check-up, the doctor had declared he was healthy, no longer needing regular visits to track his recovery.

A second sheet of paper had been included with the gift, this one just a small note:

'Later we'll put that ticker to the test ;)'

'Xoxo'

The tears fell then, staining his cheeks as he realized that this time, there was no amount of pleading that would get her to forgive him.

He'd forgotten their anniversary.

"Dude. You didn't…" 

[Y/F/N] was seated on the couch with her feet folded beneath her, a beer held in one hand while she stared at her friend.

Scoffing, Rob lifted his own bottle to his lips, taking a long swallow of the IPA.

"Yeah, I uh, guess I'm good at fuckin' shit up."

"Hey man, we've all been screw-ups at least once in our lives." 

With a gentle squeeze of his denim-covered knee, you rose from the couch, watching as he averted his eyes, nervous fingers picking at the black label encircling his drink. 

"Want another one?" 

Not bothering to look up, the man nodded, a faint smile on his lips. 

Walking into the kitchen, you thought back to the day you'd been relaxing on your deck with a new novel, glancing up to see the woman storming out of the house next door, a distraught Rob trailing after her. You remembered how he watched, helpless, as she had climbed into her rather expensive white Bentley and driven away without so much as a glance in the rearview mirror.

That had been just shy of two years ago, and while the two of you had always been friendly, until recently, conversations had consisted solely of talk about the weather and your respective careers. 

After a particularly shitty day about six months prior, you'd invited him over for a beer and now get-togethers like these had become increasingly more common. 

Pulling your air-popper from the pantry, you emptied what remained of a Costco-sized container of popcorn kernels into the machine. Hitting the power, you moved to the refrigerator, pulling a stick of butter from the door as the steady hum of the motor whirred behind you.

Rob loved popcorn. It always made him smile, and although his heart had been broken so long ago, sometimes you felt like it had been just yesterday.

Bending down to retrieve a large ceramic bowl from beneath the counter, your thoughts turned protective when you remembered the pain that had been etched into his features that day. 

Of course, you knew how Rob could be. How musicians and actors.. and...how artists could be when it came to their work. It's why, as much as you felt for the man, you weren't surprised when he'd finished recounting the full events of how she'd walked out of his life. 

You weren't surprised because you'd had that exact thing happen to you.

Dumping the excessive amount of popcorn into the red and white striped bowl, you drizzled the butter you'd melted over the heaping pile and finished the snack by sprinkling coarse sea salt and sugar into the mix. 

Turning and flipping off the light, you pulled open the door to the fridge, grabbing two bottles from the top shelf, the bright light casting a soft glow over the counters behind you. Using a hip to close the door and wrapping your free arm around the hefty bowl of popcorn, you sauntered back into the living room, taking a moment to snatch a few pieces with your mouth from the top of the pile.

"Here, brought you a snack."

Rob glanced up as [Y/F/N] re-entered the room juggling a sizable bowl of popcorn and the second beer she'd offered. He smiled to himself at her gesture; she was always looking out for him. Although he was more apt to keep to himself, he realized then that he'd grown to really enjoy her company.

"You know me too well [Y/F/N.]" 

Chuckling, his eyes lit up at the sight when she flopped next to him on the couch, depositing the bowl into his lap before turning and grabbing the remote. Settling in, she slumped back against the plush cushions before lifting her feet to rest on the table. Clicking the power button, [Y/F/N] navigated through the Netflix menu in search of something to watch.

"Hmm, Lord of the Rings marathon or Harry Potter marathon?"

The question was so nonchalantly asked, that you were surprised when Rob laughed.

"If you want me to come over more often, you just hafta say so." 

Nudging your shoulder with his, you blushed against the darkness, thankful he couldn't see you, but internally embarrassed at having him call you out so immediately.

Still, he answered, as if he really didn't mind spending his Friday nights on your couch.

"I've seen all the Tolkein movies, and I can't wait for the next one. Let's do Harry Potter, everyone keeps asking me what house I'm in and it'd be nice to have an actual answer next time instead of just bs-ing my way through the question."

Two hours passed in a blur of questions and enraptured silence alike, Rob taking great joy in the discovery of how much he enjoyed the start of the saga. 

"Wanna watch one more?" 

Raising his brows, the man turned to you, his eyes shifting between your face and the remote you'd picked up off the arm of the couch.

Glancing at the time on the bottom corner of the screen, you noted that it was almost midnight. 

The confliction in your expression was obvious. You were having a great time, but this was a huge gig. One you'd been trying to land for months. They'd finally taken the plunge just last week. Yet for some reason, your mind warred with you, the details trying to lock themselves in place while you mentally juggled the options. 

"It's okay if you don't want to, we can always do a different day. Not like I'm going anywhere."

His soft smile had you nodding. That really was the more logical, adult thing to do. With an annoyed groan, you stood from the couch. 

Rob followed suit, stretching his arms overhead as he yawned. Your eyes flicked to the small strip of exposed flesh between his t-shirt and jeans, lingering a little longer than was probably necessary. 

Leaning against the door as you held it open for him, you were already looking forward to the following afternoon as he descended the steps of your porch, spinning around to wave once more before crossing the street to his own house.

Quarantine Thoughts

A lot of this is just venting, so read if you want to see me having a mental breakdown.

So this quarantine has got me thinking and overthinking a lot about my life and career. I’ve been thinking about what I’m going to do with my degree, and where I’ll end up in life. I’ve been worrying about my health, both physical and mental, since I haven’t really been thinking about either of those things since I started college. I’ve been trying to figure out who I am, but all of this thinking has gotten me nowhere to be honest.

I’ll start with my academics. I miss being an engineering student. Not because I could see a future of me pursuing that career or because I was excelling for the short time I was in that field, both of those things were true at the time, but the real reason I miss it is because I felt that I was respected more for being a STEM student than being an art student. I’ve always struggled with this internally – that I needed to showcase my intelligence and prove to others that I’m not stupid. When I told people that I was applying to colleges for civil engineering, almost all of them told me that they were surprised and that I should do something that I’m more known for – such as art and writing. All of my friends, though saying that they supported me, all hinted that I should do what makes me happy. My ex told me not to apply to a school because she thought I was doing it to be closer to her – I wasn’t, but she didn’t believe me. My close friend group told me to “just do whatever you want to do,” when I asked them if they could see me doing that type of career. My family was cautious about me pursuing this, and my mother was quick to tell me that I should change my major when I called her to vent about an assignment I had a hard time completing. I hated it. I hated that my image was being the “artsy” person. That I was only seen as capable of having a career in a field where no one cares if you’re smart. Where my knowledge in physics and astronomy would be useless. Where my love for science and mathematics would all be pushed aside because it’s not needed for this type of work. I miss being seen as an intelligent person. Now, when people meet me and get to know me, I’m just an airhead. A fool who thought she could make it in the world as an engineer. A lazy student who paints pretty pictures.

I don’t hate where I am now with my studies, but a part of me wants to give engineering another shot. The only reason I really left was because it got too expensive after one semester. Plus, my mother kept pressuring me to do something else since she didn’t want to pay for me to go to school for engineering. It was a stressful time. I was eighteen, I had no close friends after the breakup, I didn’t have the self-confidence to make myself known to my peers when I started school. Everything was changing so quickly and I had to adjust. I did very well my first semester, and I keep looking back on it and thinking why everyone thought this was wrong for me. Why would they say that I can’t make it as an engineer when I got a 3.8 gpa my first semester and managed to get into the Women in Engineering organization, was part of the engineering learning community, got a decent amount of merit scholarships, was on a good track to qualify for the BS/MS degree program, and had plans for co-op opportunities? It’s like none of the things I did were enough for anyone to see that I was doing well. If I had money to continue at that school, I probably wouldn’t be in this situation. I wouldn’t have this added pressure to do well or else all this time spent in school would be a waste. I wouldn’t be thinking too much about the amount I’ll be making when I graduate, and which company or project I’d be part of. I wouldn’t have pushed myself to participate in every event since school activity fees were thousands of dollars per semester and I didn’t want my mother telling me that I’m wasting her money. I wouldn’t have had to fill my schedule so much that I had no time to breathe.

The path that I’m on now is great. I feel different, and I feel like I’ve grown more as a person pursuing design. I’ve learned so much about myself. I’m capable of so many things I didn’t think were possible for me – very small and mundane things like having good communication skills, being a leader, and having a voice that I want people to notice and listen to. I’ve learned to love where I am in life by pursuing this career path. Or maybe it’s settling, but I want to hope that it’s not. Despite saying this, I wish I had given myself more time for engineering. Maybe I would have reached this point of self-confidence and self-acceptance with that degree as well. But I’ll never really know now.

Now on to my well-being: my health has always been an issue, but I never really tell people about it. My mental health was an issue since I was young, but my therapist and psychiatrist couldn’t do much for me for the year that I had them when I was in middle school. I don’t know if I can even say that I’m mental ill anymore since I’m a functioning person who only feels weird and out of place occasionally. I don’t have a diagnosis of what I’m struggling with. I never did. I was never prescribed anything because my mother didn’t want to pay for it, and the health insurance didn’t see me as being at risk to others or myself so they stopped paying for group therapy after a week. So I guess that’s that. My physical health I know is my own fault. I don’t eat well or exercise or keep myself active. The things I do to my body, I’m aware it’s killing it. Lately, my hearing has been giving out and I’ve been ignoring it for years. I never told anyone about the ear pain and the hearing loss and now I feel like that was a terrible decision. I always just assumed I had trouble comprehending audio or that my audio processing was delayed or something. I thought the ringing in my ears were normal or at least a result of dehydration. I’m on antibiotics now, but surgery would be the best option to fix this. I’m not sure I want it though. Same with my eyesight. I haven’t been taking care of my eyes and now it’s predicted that I’d be legally blind by age twenty-five. My body is always in pain and I know it’s because I’m not taking vitamins and supplements to keep my bones healthy. My insides hurt and I’m constantly dehydrated, but I still insist on donating blood every year since my iron levels are normal and I haven’t passed out yet.

I don’t hate doctors, I just think my health insurance hates me. As well as my mother, but only regarding my health since I’ve always been good at not complaining about being sick so now that I’m experiencing all these health complications, I think she thinks that I’m lying about it. I would love to have a primary physician and have the annual physicals. I would love to see my chiropractor regularly since my back is the main source of my pain. I wouldn’t say no to seeing a dentist after all these years of not having dental covered by the insurance for some reason. I want to find a therapist that I’m not afraid to open up to. I would like a psychiatrist who trusts me and won’t repeat everything I told him in confidence to my mother when I’m in the room and then have to hear an earful from her in the car on the drive home. I want to be better physically and mentally. I no longer want my body to die slowly and fall apart. I might want to see past twenty-five, or at least have the option.

After saying all this, I’ve concluded that I should get a therapist, get the ear surgery, and continue down this career path and see where I end up. I want to say that all of this would happen, but I’m not sure. Maybe I’ll feel different when I’m out of quarantine. Maybe I’ll have a change of heart regarding my studies later on. Maybe my circumstances will change if my health worsens. I don’t know what I hope happens. I just want life to continue, but right now it feels like everything is frozen in time.

June 4

I got up  around 7:30 AM again.

Socialized, went to Seeking Safety, did some Resilient Grieving reflection (but not a lot), and listened to music.

Still feel pulled in way too damn many directions. And I can’t even ENGAGE any of them until the hearing happens and what the verdict is going to be. And I’m so fucking frustrated, more with myself, that I just can’t make myself do that lately. I know it’s probably going to pass once The Day happens. And it will be SOME kind of relief (be it favorable result or not), once I have something to work with. I feel like no one is being patient with me, including myself, despite how clearly evident how much distress I’m in.

There’s some complex grief response shit I need to work on, the fear of getting my teeth fixed, the fear of learning to fucking drive, the fear that I don’t understand what the fuck my needs/priorities are (and the support I deserve towards them), the sense of falling far too behind on house work that needs to be done, the feeling of making excuse after excuse - that I’m not trying hard enough, and being too gawd damn frazzled to get my sleep (also medication & exercise) schedule somewhere fucking sensible again. And everything just feeds into each other and makes me want to fucking scream sometimes.

ANYWAYS... after getting home and getting distracted by the BS (because it’s the only way I’m able to fucking cope with this fucking thunderstorm in my head, atm)... I did at least get my exercise in. :I

First, today’s DD. 1′ basic burpees with EC. Manageable, despite under-sleeping. I also counted 20 completed reps by the end. Whew. :U

Second, Day 3 of the NC. “Strength“, meaning push-ups. Though I did think about going for 2′. I did 1′ (so Level 2). Which was a good call, since I was getting close to my PB & form got pretty messy. But I did count 42 of them in the time given.

Last, Day 3 of the PUP. Lower body work again - more distal stuff. I did have to drop down my left foot a few times during the leg swings because of fatigue making keeping balance real difficult. Probably also because I was too tired

Despite being too damn tired... I still stayed up till like 5AM with the same old BS. I’m a fucking mess. :/

June 5*

Been up since like 2PM. Meant to at least get up early enough to take my morning meds. Didn’t. So I didn’t take them at all! (Because I know you REALLY should try to keep that shit consistently spaced out... wild windows of hours is ill advised.)

Don’t have much to say about my day that I haven’t already.

Okay. I wound up doing all my exercise after midnight.

First, today’s DD. 20 matrix tilts with EC. Not a huge fave since it's pretty intense for the knees. But manageable.

Second, Day 4 of the NC. “Stealth“, meaning a wall-sit hold. This time I actually went for the 2′ duration, Level 3. It was fairly tough but very doable - given I’ve done this amount before. Also, watching Sanders Sides is a fantastic distraction from the burning quads. Pffft. :,D

Last, Day 4 of the PUP. Lower body work - but closer to the thighs/core. This was tough to get through. And I did have to pause for muscle recovering in tthe later half/quarter. The side leg raises didn’t stay very high - but oh well. Did the best I was able to do for the day.

Now. I sincerely doubt I’ll be going to the facility “tomorrow”. Since I wrote this bit past 3AM. =_=

June 6*

.I wound up staying up til like noon. Opting not to go to the facility today and sleeping til almost 6PM.

Same old noise after that. Wound up doing my exercise past midnight again, though*. :I

First, today’s DD. 60 turning kicks with EC. I always enjoy combat work. I tried to make sure to not let the foot drop until the side was done. Did wobble a few times but was able to keep it going. :D

Second, Day 5 of the NC. “Grit“, meaning up/down planks. I went for 1′ again and counted 16 reps in that time (counting each direction as one rep). This was certainly difficult, but I did pace myself and think to wear some long sleeves. JUst happy to not scrape up my elbows today. :P

Last, Day 5 of the PUP. Upperbody work. I did like that it involved knee push-ups. So that helped keep things just about manageable. That being said it was a bit of a hassle figuring out how to set it up so my knees weren’t unhappy and that I could check on the timer. Figured things out, but that did take some willpower to accomplish.

June 7

Been up since about 4PM.

Mostly been up to the same noise - but I did some dishes, made some dinner, and exercised.

First, today’s DD. 60 standing W-extensions with EC. I enjoyed this a lot. I also did a few extra in case I lost count. :D

Second, Day 6 of the NC. “Balance”, meaning one legged stand. I knew that I could pretty easily manage 2′ of this one In fact, I technically shot for 4′, 2′ for each side back-to-back.

Last, Day 6 of the PUP. Kind of mixed focus on squat and side elbow plank stuff. Did have a false start hours before going for it to completion. Mostly was frustrated with how I wanted to keep track of time while on the floor. But this whole thing was not a walk in the park. Second round of planks I did brace with top leg forward a bit.

June 8

Though I did get up a couple times earlier, I got up proper at like 6PM. Yeah.

First, today’s DD. 30 butterfly sit-ups with EC. This variation still requires some foot anchoring to do very many of. But nevertheless enjoyable! :D

Second, Day 7 of the NC. “Endurance“, meaning climbers. I went for 1′, Level 2. I counted 136 reps by the end. Did think about trying for 2′ again, but decided I wasn’t up for it.

(After getting way too damn distracted again...)

Last, Day 7 of the PUP. Lower body work. I’d say this was a more enjoyable sequence to get through and I didn’t have to drop/pause at any point. It wasn’t easy though!

(I may go add notation where I had to compromise, mostly for the data. :P )

June 9

Similar story as yesterday, except getting up after 3PM today.

Same old noise, but I did try to get my exercise done early on for the day.

First, today’s DD. 20 stacked push-ups with EC. Not much to say other than I found this one very manageable. :P

Second, Day 8 of the NC. “Core strength“, meaning hollow hold. First time I just had to tap out at Level 1 or 30″. I know my PBs can be upwards to a minute - I just didn’t feel up to straining my neck, because historically this exercise is pretty terrible for it.

Last, Day 8 of the PUP. Upper body work. I did very much enjoy this sequence, made my forearms burn (what with all the un/clenching of fists), as well as my shoulders. But it was a nice break on the former for the holds.

Tomorrow is The Day. So, after that, I took a shower and prepped some notes for the hearing before getting to bed. I also did try to get to sleep at a more reasonable time by my standards...

June 10

I didn’t get the most restful sleep last night. Getting up a few hours earlier due to muscle aches and stomach feeling all knotted up. :S

Ate a little bit and tried to get as much sleep as I could until 7:30.

Got dressed and was driven to court. The wait to get called in (with representative) was nerve-wracking. But the judge seemed to be warm enough and I didn't wind up having to cry-talk during our discussion. Probs won't know the ruling until a few months, I assume.

Feels like it's going to be a coin flip, tbh. But, I'm just happy to get it over with.

Got home and gamed awhile before exercising.

First, today’s DD. 40 raised leg circles with EC. This was doable despite exhaustion. But, the thing I've been stressing out over for the past several weeks is done. So that's something. :P

Second, Day 9 of the NC. “Combat“, meaning punches. Let’s just say I was looking forward to this after the hearing stuff. Something reliably enjoyable to keep my head from getting bleak again. Easily knocked out 2′ (Level 3), with 216 punches thrown. Tried to put a bit more of a twist into them. =w=

Last, Day 9 of the PUP. Lower body work. I also liked how this went. I did not do balanced side leg raises for the reps (keeping foot off floor, while down) but it didn’t seem to imply that interpretation. It certainly would’ve been harder than it already was, if so. But I did keep the holds up for their full durations. The balance work was super satisfying! :D

That did wake me up a bit more. I still wanted to take a nap... but wound up not doing so. Also wanted to get some notes together for my therapy appointment tomorrow. But ran out of time/energy for that,

But now, I need do a bit of archiving and try to get to bed.

Honestly it just feels like I was born broken, like there was some fundamental part of being a person that I didn't get to experience. Like everyone got a lesson on how to be normal and I skipped class that day. And I don't mean this in an edgy "I'm not like others" BS kind of way, or a "I really relate to Rick Sanchez" kinda way. I mean, it feels like everyone in life is running a marathon, and everyone is doing it at their own pace. Some are sprinting for the finish line, others are taking their time, and I'm stuck at the beginning, and no matter how much I want to move, my body just won't do it.

And as cliché as it sounds, it feels like a hole inside that can't be filled. No amount of therapy, or kind words, or pills, or alcohol, or distractions, can ever fix it. They can fill it for a time but the hole is always there, and I'm constantly aware of it and the only thing I can do is accept it and try to just, deal with it. You can't fix something that was never whole to begin with.

From that point on, I have checked a vitamin B12 level on every patient that complains of numbness, tingling, fatigue or memory impairment. Gauging the Benefits of High Dosage CBD

I know it’s bad form, but I’ll start this blog post with an apology to my readers: my posts are typically a page or less, but some topics cover so much territory that it commands more space.

I’ll be the first to say I’m not a doctor. I don’t give medical advice and have no medical training whatsoever. The FDA requires that we say that our products have not been evaluated and can make no claims that we can treat or cure any medical problem; as much as I dislike the FDA, I agree with that statement.

There is, however, a big BUT; as a CBD products manufacturer, we receive requests all the time from people who think more is better and they may be right. There is research to support the benefits of conditions that traditional medicine doesn’t have a good solution. Please understand that CBD is not a cure-all or a silver bullet that fixes everything, but it may have its place as an affordable alternative medicine capable of helping people manage symptoms like pain, anxiety, sleep disorders, migraine headaches, and other neurological issues and that’s what we’re here for.

The reason people ask about high dosage CBD is that they generally have, or know someone who has a nerve degenerative disease, like MS, for instance. It’s tough to narrow the scope of this paper because the subject matter is so broad, but I’ll start off by saying I have MS so I have firsthand experience. MS is a serious problem and I won’t gloss over the seriousness of it; there is no cure but catching it early and seeing a specialist will improve your odds of coping with it.

I have what’s called late-onset MS; I got it after age 50 which is fairly rare, so lucky me!

No one knows the exact cause but it’s generally believed to be related to your immune system, genetics, infection or environmental issues like geography, which contributes to lack of sunlight or vitamin D, toxins, or chemical exposure.

So, what does CBD have to do with MS you ask? Well, since there is no cure, the Big Pharma options are limited, expensive, and generally have bad side effects like attacking your liver. I did an Interferon based drug called Avonex by Biogen for a year and a half and it’s an ugly, massive depressant. They say it has no other side effects other than what they call “flu-like symptoms,” which means you feel like absolute crap for 6.5 days and then on day 7, it’s time for another shot!! Doing that for the rest of your life, in my experience, is not a good option.

As a side note, I got depressed enough that I started reading books on the power of positive thinking and I found that happiness is a choice. If you don’t believe it, I suggest reading Tony Robbins book, “Awaken the Giant Within.” I promise it will be worth your time and is mostly fact-based research. My wife started calling me Peter Pan because I only think happy thoughts and I’m good with that!  It changed my perspective forever.

These are the four basic types of multiple sclerosis:

RRMS or relapsing-remitting ms

SPMS or secondary-progressive ms

PPMS or primary-progressive ms

PRMS or progressive-relapsing ms

These four categories describe the course that MS typically follows during a persons’ lifetime. Within each of these four types of multiple sclerosis, there are varying degrees of severity. With that said, no two MS patients will ever be exactly the same. MS can be unpredictable but it generally does not produce big changes overnight; it can take months or years to see noticeable changes.  You’ll need to be prepared to deal with it for the rest of your life, so the goal should be to manage it in such a way that you still have a decent quality of life. For me, I’m not wired to sit around and do nothing, so staying active is the key to longevity.

The research continues, especially on autoimmune disorders and neurological issues like MS, ALS, Parkinson’s, Crohn’s, etc. The website, https://www.projectcbd.org/  has an incredible online reference library of conditions that you may be interested in to research for yourself.  I like this site because it’s based on science and facts and not speculation or BS.  After you click on the links below, look to the right under “Browse Conditions” and see what’s out there.

I don’t have a definition of high dosage, because for me, it’s anything above a daily maintenance dosage of 20-60 mg CBD per day.

However, there is an approved CBD prescription for epilepsy and you can be assured there are more in the pipeline that can give ideas of dosage on particular medical problems.

There has been some research done by legitimate research clinics like the Mayo Clinic and more needs to be done. The following provides a simple guideline for dosage recommendations:

The Mayo Clinic suggests CBD dosages based on scientific research, publications, traditional use, and expert opinion. Cannabinoid dosages and duration of treatment depend mainly on the illness (and countless other factors).

The following chart from Mayo Clinic provides specific dosage recommendations for various illnesses:

Loss of Appetite in Cancer Patients: 2.5mg of THC (orally), with or without 1mg of CBD for six weeks. [S]

I don’t recommend high dosages but it may be a good alternative to opioids or other narcotics. We do not produce or sell any THC products. Our goal is to get you healthy, not high. Therefore, we only produce CBD products made from pure hemp-derived CBD isolate to guarantee purity and quality.

So, back to our topic, are there benefits to a high dosage of CBD?  At this point, it’s safe to say that even the FDA agrees that CBD is a natural anti-inflammatory agent; this is important because what causes pain is inflamed nerves and reducing the inflammation reduces pain.  Even athletes use CBD to help their bodies recover faster and it’s not considered a performance-enhancing drug, so it’s legal.

CBD oil has natural anti-inflammatories, which can go a long way in helping to treat chronic pain. It also contains muscle-relaxing properties that help ease pressure on sensitive nerves, reduce anxiety and help users sleep better.

I have found CBD to be very effective at relaxing the leg muscles enough to where it is no longer an issue. In conjunction with CBD usage, you might want to consider physical therapy to strengthen up muscles. I did because my knees were getting weak and the results have been good so far.

Clinical research into CBD oil for nerve degeneration diseases is in its relatively early stages, but most of it points to positive results. As researchers conduct more large-scale clinical trials of CBD oil, results are expected to demonstrate powerful and effective treatment of these diseases, so stay tuned.

Chronic pain has become an epidemic world-wide, especially as the Boomer generation approaches old age. For example, in Europe, chronic pain effects 1 in 4 elderly people. In Australia, this epidemic is of massive proportions, extending to over half of the elderly population, and as high as 80% of patients in nursing homes.

The available medications for attempting to treat this pain are limited to nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), opiates, and anti-depressants; all hard-core drugs with harsh side effects of their own, and limited effectiveness. It’s almost as though the patient is trading a half-cure for being put on even more drugs to deal with the debilitating side effects. My opinion here, but this system seems oriented towards making money for the drug companies and not dealing with the issue in a practical and humane way.

Nerve degeneration diseases like Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and Huntington’s have some of the highest disease burdens. According to the World Health Organization, disease burdens are the number of healthy years affected by disability and death. With little to no cure for these diseases, we can only be thankful for CBD, and its phenomenal medicinal qualities.  

I don’t have experience with those diseases but for me, it’s all about quality of life.  You have a choice in the matter: it can rule your life if you let it or you can suck it up, control the symptoms the best you can and take back your life.  

While it’s still a drug, CBD is a natural plant based non-addictive drug that can be a useful option to help you get through life and enjoy the good things.

Due to lack of clinical research, dosing quantities are a trial and error kind of operation and everyone is different, so I suggest starting small and dialing it up in small increments until you find what works for you.

I’m an engineer by schooling so I’m a little particular on being exact. We put an eye dropper in our tincture bottles that is calibrated in 0.25 ml increments up to a full 1.0 ml.  In addition, we design products to have a 30-day supply. For example, if there is a 1200 mg tincture, your daily dose would be 40 mg of CBD for every 1.0 ml (since 1200 mg divided by 30 days is 40 mg/day).  You can use the eye dropper increments to dial in the exact dosage, or if you want less or more than the suggested daily dose.  

If anyone wants a large dosage, then we’ll do something divisible by 30; for instance 4800mg/30 = 160 mg per dose and you may want to try it numerous times daily to get up to your desired dosage per day.  Say you want 1280 mg per day, that’s 8 times per day of 160 mg.

On average, our experience has shown that the CBD effect lasts about 2-5 hours, depending upon body mass and metabolism, so I would suggest at a minimum, give yourself a dose in the morning and evening.  If pain is chronic, then use it a few times during the day as well. Your body will metabolize the CBD through your liver so if you find that the effect wears off after 4 hours, then take another dose at about the 3.5 hour mark so you have continuous coverage.

Like I said, it’s trial and error so you might want to keep a diary to help you make more accurate predictions on when and how much to take to dial in your dosage. This is an old school technique, but it works.

Although not confirmed, some clinical studies indicate the possibility of actual nerve regeneration for damaged nerves.  This will hopefully be a future topic of conversation.
