Looking at Heartstopper, Red White and Royal Blue and lastly Young Royals… did anyone notice that the protagonist couples are almost exact duplicates of each other? In looks I mean.

Two exceptions are that Alex doesn’t necessarily have a curly ‘fro like the other two do and Henry has blond hair as opposed to red(ish). (Likely bc they’re on Amazon. 🤷‍♀️ Otherwise Henry would have the same darker hair as the others and Alex’s hair would be way more curly if Netflix got them)

Is this apparently the only way one can depict a same sex couple these days? 🤔

What the hell happened in the Heartstopper fandom in season 1 that made people so much more protective of the feelings of fictional character Charlie Spring than they are of actual human Kit Connor?

I mean, I know what happened, but it’s still unfortunate. I really don’t think a lot of people consider Kit’s feelings at all unless it’s about his sexuality. I’m sure he has a thick skin. He’s been in the business a long time. But just two years ago he was still covering his mouth when he smiled because he was self conscious about his teeth. I don’t think it’s a stretch to think people acting like he died because he got a haircut (for a role!) might make him feel bad.

But if anyone tries to say this, it’s “baby-ing” him. But if one person has a bad take about Charlie, there’s basically a hashtag campaign about how Charlie deserves better. And he does, but maybe the same amount of empathy for a real person would be nice.
