What is a man without his past? Mobius is a simple, middle-aged man who doesn’t know anything about himself. He’s empty, his only purpose has been the TVA for what he can remember. Then he met Loki (when he met him, it’s starting to be a point) and his glorious purpose suddenly became Loki. We can surely believe Loki is his only true friend. But, Mobius doesn’t know himself. He doesn’t know who he is. I mean: we all know who we are, where we came from, why we’re here right now, what we are now because of what we were before. A man who doesn’t know his past, is nothing. Brad was right, after all, even if his words were meant to be cruel. Mobius is suffering, it’s clear. Was that the right moment to eat a pie? Certainly not. But if Sylvie wasn’t there, Loki would have probably let Mobius eat the pie. For what it may helps, sometimes kindness and patience (two things Mobius knows very well) are the right response. Your friend is passing through a hard moment, let’s get him a pie, like Loki did in episode 2. Why not? Why not be kind? Was Mobius escaping? No, he wasn’t. In that moment they couldn’t do anything to fix the situation. Was that the wrong moment to ask for that pie? Yes, it was. Is that a reason to scream at him he’s selfish, that because he didn’t look for his own timeline that means he doesn’t care about anything? Fucking no. That’s the worst thing Sylvie could have said, and I swear, nothing will never make me appreciate her, not even a little bit. I’ve never liked her since the very beginning but this time she crossed a line. Since when does she care about the timelines and the TVA? She’s the freaking only reason they all are in this mess. Not this man below. This man below is just more alone than before, because he’s now fully convinced Loki left him behind because he agreed with the blonde variant and instead Loki is going to shut her mouth, telling her the wisest things. But Mobius doesn’t know Loki understands him. Mobius doesn’t know anything yet he’s always supportive and kind and the worst thing he has done in this show has been slapping a brat on the face and then calling him a “silly little man”.

Dangerous Liaisons
Pairing: Loki Laufeyson x Female!Reader
Word Count: ~2.5k
Warnings: angst, prison!loki
Summary: You do your best to make sure the prisoners of the prison you work at get the utmost care that you can give them. The prison gets a new inmate, one that you see yourself connecting with.
Squares Filled: prison au (2021) for @lokibingo
Author’s Note: any and all comments are greatly appreciated <3
x
You leave the prisoner’s cell with a heavy sigh. Most of the time, you like your job because that means you’re healing people but not when they try and kill you, too. This American prison is one of the worst in the country because it houses the worst of the worst, the most dangerous individuals known to man. Your brother often tells you that you should quit and work in the hospital he works at, but you actually like it here as weird as it sounds.
Some of the prisoners are a menace that makes you want to quit your job, but there are other prisoners who think of prison as a rehab and try to get better. They’re still the most dangerous men due to the nature of their crimes, but at least they’re trying to become better.
You’re here to nurse anyone back to health because believe it or not, there are a lot of stabbings that happen here. You do your best to take care of the inmates as much as you can without letting the job affect you that much. Mental health is just as important.
You walk back to your station in the middle of the prison where the other nurses are gossiping. You try not to participate in the gossip especially when it comes to the other inmates, but it’s hard not to when you work so closely with one another.
“What are you two whispering about?” you ask.
“Did you hear? We’re getting another inmate.”
“Really? Aren't we at capacity?”
“I’m not sure.”
“Who is it?” you ask.
Neither women know the answer to that. All they know is that he is probably the worst of the worst, and that’s saying something. It doesn’t take long for the new inmate to get here, and you’re looking out the window for him. A herd of guards walks down the hallway with the new inmate stuck in between them. You gasp when you see the prisoner. You know who that is. You’ve seen him destroy New York while you were safe in your house in another state.
Loki’s chains connect his ankle handcuffs and wrist handcuffs, only allowing him enough room to take a small step forward. He has a metal muzzle on his face, covering just his mouth. He can use magic so they thought putting a muzzle on him was best to keep him from using it. He doesn’t look bothered about being here but maybe he’s really good at hiding his true emotions.
Loki looks at the nurse’s station and locks eyes with you. Even though there is a muzzle over his mouth, you can see the smirk on his face. His eyes are a powerful blue that gives his expressions away. A shiver rolls down your spine from how intense his gaze is. You’ve met and been with men who knew how to take your breath away, but never has someone been able to do that just by looking at you.
Plus, it doesn’t help that he’s extremely good-looking.
From what you can see, he has cuts and bruises on his face from what, you’re not sure. The guards take Loki to the most secure prison cell in the place. The place had been under construction for a while, probably getting Loki’s cell ready. The warden walks into the nurse’s station and approaches you.
“Consider him your new patient.”
“What?”
“I don’t want anyone else but you with him. You’re the best nurse I’ve got on staff, but don’t tell the others,” he jokes.
“Oh...kay,” you say slowly.
“Don’t worry about him hurting you. We have taken extra precautions to ensure everyone’s safety. There are guards in place if the chains fail, but they won’t. Tony Stark made them.”
“Do you need me to do it now?”
Preferably within the hour. We don’t want to give him an excuse to be let out.”
You go as soon as you can just so you can get this out of the way. You don’t know Loki, only what he’s done, but you know more than most that your actions don’t define who you are. Look at some of the prisoners here. They know what they did was wrong and are trying to better themselves for it even though they may never be released from prison.
You gasp when you see Loki chained up like some animal. The muzzle is still on his face and a chain is hooked to the chain connecting his arms and legs. That chain is connected to a hook on the floor so he can’t escape. Loki is a magical being that is over a thousand years old (yes, you did research on him). If he wants out of the chains, he’s getting out. Why isn’t he? Why did they let him take him? The other inmates have free roam in their cells but Loki is chained to the ground.
How is that fair?
You walk up to Loki and look into his blazing blue eyes. They’re like oceans. He looks like he’d be the quiet one even without the muzzle on.
“Hi, my name is Y/N. I’ll be your nurse. I’m here to clean you up and make sure those cuts aren’t going to get infected.” He doesn’t say anything, obviously. “I’ll be by every day to make sure your wounds aren’t infected and to check your vitals to make sure you’re not sick.”
You roll over a table and put your first aid kit on it, pulling out the things you need. You use a cotton swab to clean up the blood around the edges of the wounds before dabbing a paper towel on the wounds gently. He doesn’t seem to be in pain and if he is, he doesn't show it.
“Let me tell you a little bit about me so you’re not uncomfortable with me. I started working here about six years ago. It’s not always the best but I love what I do. My brother who is a doctor wants me to work in his hospital but I don’t think I’d ever leave here. When I’m not working here, I like to do ceramics. I have a kiln at home where I make my own bowls and other little sculptures. I don’t need the money but I like to sell them. People seem to like it.”
Loki has a twinkle in his eyes as he listens to you ramble. You do that when you’re nervous, and he really makes you nervous. You continue to ramble as you clean his wounds, finishing in just over an hour later. You leave his cell and return to the nurse’s station in thought. You did minor research on Loki when he attacked New York, and you set a reminder to do some more when you go home tonight. It doesn’t matter what anyone at this prison has done. No one should be locked up like an animal. Your coworkers don’t share the same views as you, but everyone is entitled to their opinion.
When you return to work the next day, the first prisoner you see is Loki. There are guards located outside of his cell twenty-four-seven but you don’t think Loki will escape… maybe. You walk to his cell but the guards don’t move from their spot. Each prisoner gets an hour of your time each day with the more severe cases getting an extra one. They like Loki to be last so that you can focus on everyone else and not give him special privileges, but there is no way you’re putting his health risks below others.
“Excuse me.”
“We can’t let you enter.”
“What did you just say?”
“The warden said--”
“I don’t care what the warden says. My job is to take care of prisoners with wounds, and Loki has several cuts not only to his face but upper chest. Cuts that if left untreated will get infected causing him to be sick and possibly die. Even if he didn’t have anything physically wrong with him, you have him locked up like some animal so he isn’t getting exercise. His muscles will start to atrophy. Now, do you want me to report that to the warden or do you want to step aside and let me do my damn job?”
Both guards look at each other before stepping away from the door. You lift your nose up and yank the door open before walking inside. Loki looks up when he sees you and almost smiles at the determination on your face. You roll the same first aid cart over to Loki and remove the bandages to check on his wounds.
“Oh, don’t look at me like that. What was I supposed to say to them? It’s not right how they’re treating you.” You grab more cotton swabs and wipe away the leakage that’s expected to come from the wounds. “Anyhow, aren’t Gods supposed to self-heal?” You pause. “That’s what I hear you are. You and Thor. Gods. Norse Gods, actually. Sorry, I ramble when I’m nervous. You make me nervous.”
You grab the stitches to stitch two wounds together since they are deep enough to leave a scar if not properly healed.
“I read about you when I got home last night like some stalker fangirl.” Your eyes widen. “Which I’m not, by the way. I just… I saw what you did to New York on TV. I know what you did in Germany.” His eyes grow sad. “Don’t worry, I don’t think you’re as bad as they say you are. We all make mistakes, right?”
Of course, he doesn’t answer. You take your time in stitching up the two wounds before cleaning the rest of them and putting bandages back on them. Next, you check to make sure the restraints aren’t on too tight because you’d hate if you were the one being restrained and it was uncomfortable.
“Are you uncomfortable?” you ask. He shakes his head in response. “Have they brought you any food?” Another shake. “Are you hungry?” This time, he nods. “Okay, I’ll be right back with something to eat. Any preferences?”
Your joke makes the edges of his eyes crinkle. He’s smiling underneath his muzzle. That’s a good sign, you think. You leave and head to the cafeteria to get a tray of food for him. You sneak in one or two extra items just because you’re feeling generous. The door to the kitchen slams open and the warden walks in with fire in his eyes.
“What do you think you’re doing?”
“No, what do you think you’re doing? Are you keeping food from Loki? He deserves to eat.”
“A monster like him doesn’t deserve that. Plus, he’s not even human.”
“If he doesn’t eat, he’ll die,” you glare.
The warden shrugs as if that doesn’t bother him. He looks at the tray in your hands before leaving. You roll your eyes and continue filing the tray until you have more than enough for him. The guards don’t give you any trouble when you return back to Loki’s cell. He looks up and sees the food. He has to admit, he is hungry but he doesn’t think he’d accept any food if it didn’t come from you. You two have only known each other for less than two days but he feels a sort of connection with you that he has never made with a human.
You roll the first aid cart over to you and clear off the top before putting the tray there. With both hands free, you reach up and touch the clasp of the muzzle.
“I’m going to take this off now. I don’t think it’s right that they have this on you like some kind of animal.”
You remove the muzzle but Loki still doesn’t say anything. Since his hands are chained, you have to feed him but he doesn’t seem to mind. You take your time and ramble on about the different sculptures you’ve made, momentarily forgetting where you are.
“I’m not gonna put this back on,” you say about the muzzle once Loki has finished everything you brought to him. “Like I said. I don’t think it’s right.” With the muzzle off, you can see the hint of a smile on his face. Loki shifts and you look at the restraints on him. “Don’t tell anyone, but I’m going to loosen your restraints just a little. They look tight.” You use the master key and loosen his restraints, allowing him some more room to stand properly and move about. “Is that better?” He nods. “I’ll be back later with more food and to check to see how you’re doing.”
You take the empty tray and leave his cell. You spend more time checking on the other prisoners than you’d like only because two of them got into a stabbing match in the courtyard. After you get done with them, you go back to the nurse’s station to grab some snacks from your lunch box. It’s better than eating that slop in the cafeteria.
You’re the last one left in the nurse’s station since all the others have gone home for the day. You have more patients than the others because most of them request you to fix them. It doesn’t matter what someone did, you’ll treat them the same way you treat everyone else. It’s better for your conscious.
All of a sudden, the lights go out in the station only for bright red lights to replace them. Alarms echo down the hallway, and most of the prisoners become erratic from the sound. Someone has escaped. They only put those alarms out when someone has escaped from their cell. It better not be Jacobson. He has a habit of finding new ways to piss off the warden.
You continue putting food on the tray when you feel a breeze a your back. The door is open. You look up and see a figure standing behind you through the reflection on the window. That’s not Jacobson. For one, he’s a very lanky short man. The man behind you is tall… very tall. You’re frozen in fear because you have no idea who is behind you. If he wanted to, he could kill you without a second thought.
“Hello, darling.” The man steps underneath the red light and you see those piercing blue eyes. You turn to face Loki as he walks closer to you. His voice is much deeper than you thought it’d be… much more raspy. You must have loosened the restraints too much. He reaches out to you and tucks your hair behind your ear. “Don’t be scared. I won’t hurt you.”
“I’m not scared,” you say truthfully.
“Good girl,” he grins. “I wish I could stay but I have somewhere I need to be. Believe me when I say I’ll be back.”
He leans in and presses a gentle kiss to your cheek. Just like that, he’s gone. You believe him when he says he’ll be back. Funny thing is, you’re kind of looking forward to it.

Why do you have to be so stupid?
Summary: stupidity gets you killed. (Nearly)
Pairing: Natasha Romanoff x gn!reader
Tw: mentions of past suicide attempt, injured reader
Words: 3.5k
a/n: This is my second work I’ve posted here, I had wrote this a few days ago and I decided to post it. Even tho nobody’s gonna read this, but hey if you’re a reader here. Hi! 🫶🏼🥹
The sky was dark, the moon and the stars were shining bright that night. I walked through the dark alley, feeling my blood running down my stomach. The mission didn’t go as planned. It seemed that they already knew I was coming, they were ready. I put on a good fight and got the flash drive, but it wasn’t enough for me to escape. The moment I heard the gunshots and felt a sharp pain on my body, I knew that I needed to leave. They were too many, I was only one. I couldn’t call for back up. Nobody from the team knew that I was going to that mission. Fury had said it was too dangerous for someone to go alone, he was planning on bringing the whole team there in a few days. But it would be too late in a few days. I knew it was a stupid decision, but I wanted to help the team. Even though the mission was a success, my chances to survive were very low. The bullet wounds al over my body looked serious.
Standing with my back against the wall, I tried to breathe. I had already lost a lot of blood, I was feeling so weak and my vision was blurry. That was it. That was the way I would die. Not by some heroic act, but because I was an idiot for having to go alone there without telling anyone. I started to think about my friends, back at the compound. The avengers had become my family. I thought about Tony and his sarcastic comments, I thought about what he would say if he saw me like this. Tony was like a father to me, the father I never had. I thought about Steve, that old man.. He would probably lecture me if he was here, telling me that I need to think before acting.
Bruce. We were never that close with the man but I’ve always respected him. He was a very clever guy, he had also saved me from many dumb injuries. Thor. I didn’t see him that often nowadays, he had go back to Asgard something about having to deal with his idiotic brother, Loki. He would always tell me stories about other planets and people he had met. I was closer to Clint from the other guys. I could say he was a great friend and very loyal to me as I was to him. He was a great spy, and he was usually the one I trained with.
Wanda would be probably mad at me if she saw me like this. She had scolded me many times, usually when I made dumb decisions like this one. But we loved each other, we were friends since day one. We were always by each other’s side. I didn’t want to leave her alone in this world, even though she had the rest of the team. I was the only closest person to her, as she had said many times before.
And Natasha… I slid down the wall, wincing as the bullets inside me moved. I clenched my fist as I pressed down on my biggest wound. I didn’t want Natasha to see me like this. Even though she was used to seeing people dying, I couldn’t do this to her. I didn’t want to die. Natasha was a closed person, only Clint and I were able to read her as an open book. I couldn’t leave her alone. I brought my hand to my neck, touching the necklace she had gave to me. A small golden spider was hanging from it, with her initials engraved on the back of it. It was a gift for my 23rd birthday. It was the best day of my life that day.
I started thinking about how things would be after my death. I guessed I still had a bit of time left. I used to want to end it all. In my teenage years. Back then it was hard for me. I had no one to call family. No friends. I was close to that railing, so close to my death. Ready to jump off, I was so done with my life. But she was the one who saw me, she was the one who ran up to me and tried to call me down so I wouldn’t jump. And she succeeded. She saved me from killing my own self. Natasha Romanoff, she saved my life. Many times. She was my person. And I loved her.
But now she couldn’t save me. Right know she thought that I was out for a simple walk. Eventually she would start to realise something was wrong after I was gone for hours. She would start looking for me, calling me, calling the team. Then they would all search for me, until they’d finally get the news that I was dead. All because I couldn’t stop being stupid.
Looking one more time up in the sky, I whispered softly more to myself. “I’m sorry..” Breathing out, I tried to find my peace but the universe had other plans. Footsteps were heard in the distance, every second it was louder until it reached in front of me. I tried to open my eyes, trying to figure out who was standing in front of me. When I felt soft hands on my face, I opened my mouth to speak but was stopped by a familiar voice speaking louder to someone in the distance. “I found her! She’s here, come help me.”
Finally, when my eyes focused again I recognised the person in front of me. Those familiar green eyes, and the familiar red hair made me smile a bit and whisper. “Hey, love..” I watched as her lips curled up in a soft smile, but her eyes remained worried. “Hey, sweetheart..”
I went to talk but a pain on my chest kept me from speaking. Natasha was quick to notice and she pressed her palm against my cheek, carefully caressing it. “Don’t speak too much, дорогой. We will get you out of here, just hang on..” She said as she pressed her lips to my forehead and turned around as more footsteps began to appear around us.
“The jet’s ready, we can get her inside now..” I heard Steve’s voice from my left. “Is she okay?” He asked Natasha.
“She will be when we get her home. Come on guys, we need to move.” Natasha said as she gave me a soft squeeze before she stood back up. “Damn it, y/n. When will you stop being stupid..” Hearing Clint’s voice made me feel so bad. They were all worried about me, they didn’t deserve what they were going through because of me. “I’m -I’m sorry..” I whispered but it was enough for the team to hear it.
“It’s okay, y/n.. You’re gonna be okay..” A soft hand landed gently on my shoulder, caressing it carefully. I looked up to see Wanda, looking down at me. I smiled at her as the guys came closer and pulled me up. I winced and grabbed Steve’s arm to get more steady as they walked me inside the jet.
The whole flight was a blur. I remember Natasha sitting beside the bed I was laying in, holding my hand the whole time. We didn’t talk much. They had stopped the bleeding but still I had lost a lot of blood so I had to be at the hospital asap. Clint was flighting the jet, while the others were in some conversation about the flash drive I had retrieved. Wanda was sitting close to me but away enough to give me and Natasha some privacy.
I wanted to close my eyes but Natasha didn’t let me. She would say dumb things to distract me from closing them. Even though she tried to mask her emotions, I could really see right through her. I’ve learned to read her over the years, I knew when she was anxious, sad, mad, annoyed and happy. Even now that she tried to mask her anxiety and fear, it didn’t work to me.
When we got there, they quickly took me inside and brought me to the doctors. I couldn’t remember what happened exactly next. I could hear Natasha talking to me but I couldn’t hear any word that escaped her mouth. My vision blurry and not being able to feel my legs. Then everything went black.
—
I woke up by a beeping sound, trying to focus my vision to the bright light of the room. When i did that, I slowly looked around. It looked like a hospital room, a small TV in front of me on the wall, on my left a window and a door on the other side of the room. I was laying in a bed, it was comfy but my body felt numb. I heard soft snores beside me and turned my head immediately towards the noise. I relaxed when I noticed the redhead sitting in a chair beside my hospital bed, sleeping in a clearly uncomfortable position.
I tried to move but everything felt so weird, so I tried to speak. After a few tries I finally got to speak softly, hoping to not scare the green eyed woman sleeping. “Tasha..” I spoke but she didn’t even stir. So I tried again a bit louder this time. “Natasha!” I whisper-yelled. As much as I didn’t want to wake her up, I couldn’t just sit there and watch her lay there so uncomfortably.
That’s when she finally woke up, she looked around clearly confused by who woke her up. When she found my eyes she relaxed and smiled. She sat upright and took my hands, “Glad you’re awake, моя любовь.. How are you feeling?” She asked.
“I don’t know.. I feel kind of numb. What happened?” I asked her, hoping for some information. Natasha sighed and began talking, “You passed out the moment we got you inside the hospital. You had lost so much blood, y/n.. If we were late a few minutes, you wouldn’t have survived.. Thankfully, the doctors took you in immediately, saying that you needed surgery.” She paused to see my expression. It didn’t scare me at all, I was glad that I was still there. I was thankful to the doctors who saved me. I couldn’t imagine the reactions of the team if they found out I was actually dead. “They took out the bullets from your body, seven bullets y/n.” She closed her eyes, trying to calm down herself.
“How long I was out..?” I couldn’t help but ask. Natasha looked so tired, like she hadn’t slept for days. “Six days. After the surgery the doctors said that they put you into a coma so that your body would recover properly. They weren’t sure when you were going to wake up.” She let my hands and stand up from the chair, walking towards the window of the room, looking down the busy street. “The team came to visit you, all of us hoping you would wake up. Clint and Wanda stayed for a few days but I told them to go back home, staying at the hospital isn’t really that great and sleeping in a chair is also uncomfortable..”
“But you stayed..” I whispered, my face suddenly getting sad. She was really a wreck because of me.
“Of course I stayed, why wouldn’t I? I wouldn’t leave you alone, y/n.” She turned back to look at me with that sad expression. Slowly walking towards me, she crouched down beside my side, her face at the same height as mine. “I’m glad you’re okay.. I don’t know what I would do without you.”
I smiled and mumbled, “I’m glad I’m okay too..” but the next thing I felt was a slight pain on my shoulder, looking at her eyes in disbelief I said, “Did you just punch me? What was that for?!”
“That was for being stupid, you dumb idiot. Why would you go there on your own, even when Fury said that it was incredibly dangerous for one person?” She said, clearly frustrated. “And I didn’t even hit you that hard, stop being a baby.”
“Ah, fuck of..” I shook my head but quickly regretted it as I saw Natasha’s face. The murderous look she gave me made me shut up and mumble a “sorry” to her. As silence surrounded us, I decided to look back towards her. “Look.. I’m sorry, I know what I did was stupid. And I’m so sorry I made you go through all of this, that wasn’t really my intention. The plan was to finish the mission and come back home, I didn’t know that things would get bad..”
“It’s okay, I’m just glad you’re alright now.” She sighed and moved to hug my side so softly as she was afraid to hurt me. I moved slowly my arm and pulled her more into the bed, making her lay there beside me. Natasha put her head on my chest, with her strong arms around my waist. We laid there for what seemed to be an eternity, just relaxing in the presence of each other’s. We made a small talk, with her telling me that I was in big trouble when we would go back to the compound. Something about Tony being extremely mad and talking about grounding me until I was thirty. I knew he couldn’t do that, and that really made me wanna laugh. He couldn’t really ground a twenty-five year old, but it would be fun to see him trying.
A few days later I got the okay to leave the hospital, and I was over the moon. I really hated hospitals, something about them made me want to go as far away as I could from them. But with the company of Natasha’s, it was a bit more enjoyable. Wanda had visited me while I was still at the hospital, we sat for hours and talked. She was also kinda mad about my idiotic actions, at first she wouldn’t talk to me but then she gave in. Natasha gave us time to catch up and brought us lunch when it was time. Clint sadly couldn’t visit, he had gone back to his family for a few days. But he promised to be back when I got back home.
The ride home was calming, Natasha was driving with Wanda on the passenger seat. I was sitting in the back, looking out the windows. I couldn’t exactly walk with my left foot. A bullet had caused a bit of a damage there, but I had started physical therapy to make it better. As my doctor said, I would be able to start training in a few weeks. The bullet hole in my chest also started to heal faster, the one on my abdomen was a little bit bigger and it still hurt when I walked. The doctor said I needed more rest so everything would full heal.
When we arrived at the compound, I noticed Steve waiting outside. Natasha parked the car and helped me get out from the back. As Steve went to take me from her in order to get me inside, she simply gave him a look and he backed up. I nodded towards him and continued walking with Natasha inside the building. Nobody else was there so I supposed the rest of the team was in some mission. As the red head helped me up to my room, Wanda passed by to ask us if we wanted something to eat. When we kindly declined, she left and Natasha set me into my bed. “Alright, I have to do something first. Can you wait for me? It won’t be long.” She said, tucking my injured leg in some pillows. I nodded and gave her a gentle smile as I watched her leave the room.
I reached the TV remote that was beside me on the nightstand, switching it on and selecting a movie to watch while Natasha was gone. It didn’t took her long to come back and when she finally came in she had in her hands many snacks and drinks. I looked at her mesmerised, my mouth was hanging open as I watched her come and sit beside me on the bed. “What’s all of this?” I asked, even though I knew.
“Snacks! I thought it would be less boring if we watched a movie and eat together until we have to go downstairs.” She said with excitement in her voice. While I was still in shock I laid there, don’t knowing what to say. “You’re staring..” She grinned, knowing she had caught me.
Shaking my head, I looked down at my hands suddenly getting nervous around her. Still after all these years she still had that effect on me. “How can I not? You’re perfect..” I said, finally looking over her face only to see her blush. “Awh, look at you. You’re blushing! I made the Black Widow blush!!” I grinned, throwing my fist in the air like I won.
“Shut up..” Natasha said, looking away. It never got old. I liked teasing her, she wanted everyone to think like she was a baddie but in reality she really was a softie. At least when she was with me. I smiled softly, making her look at me weirdly, “Why the fuck are you smiling?” She said, trying to look serious but she failed miserably. That only made me laugh more. “Seriously, y/n.”
I threw my hands up, like I was surrendering. “Okay, okay. Sorry, no need to give me that look.” My laugh had stopped by now and I was just grinning at her. “I was smiling because I’m happy. You make me so happy, Natasha.” I sighed, gently turning my body a bit so I could face her fully. I took her hands in mine, squeezing them slightly. “And I want to thank you. Thank you for being here the past few days, you never left my side and I’m thankful for that. Also I want to thank you for being with me every day for the past few years. You saved my life so many times, because of you I’m still here.” I watched as her eyes watered but she didn’t dare to speak so I continued. “You know I was in a place where there was no escape, I was so done with life. I didn’t have anyone by my side. No one to call my person, no one to talk to about my problems. But you Natasha, you came into my life and helped me to understand that life’s worth living. Damn it, you made me scared of death. You know how fucking scared I was in that alley? I had realised that I didn’t want to die, I didn’t want to leave you alone. I wanted to live, I wanted to stay here with you. I wanted us to keep having picnic dates, movie nights together, to spend time together doing absolutely nothing. I wanted us to keep sleeping together at night, to keep waking up together in the mornings. I wanted you to keep yelling at me whenever I made a stupid decision, to see your face when you were so mad at me for something so dumb. But more importantly I wanted to be able to see again that smile,” I motioned to her face. Tears spilling down her cheeks as she tried not to cry. I took a breath before speaking again. “Natasha Romanoff, you make me want to live. You’re the best thing that ever happened to me. I can’t believe that I can’t go a day without seeing those beautiful eyes. You mean everything to me and I don’t know how long it took me to realise it but I can say now that I’m literally so fucking in love with you.” I finished, softly looking at her.
“Love..” She paused as her voice broke. “I’m so in love with you too.. So much..” After hearing those words my heart jumped, I shot towards her taking her in my arms and holding her. I pulled away from the hug, catching her lips with mine, kissing her slowly with love. Honestly it was one of these moments where Natasha would be so comfortable with me that she let herself cry in front of me. Being vulnerable in front of me. And I loved that, not that she cried. But because she was comfortable enough to show her true self, she was open about her feelings.
Natasha Romanoff, was in love with me. And I was in love with her. And it only took for me to nearly die for us two to accept it and confess it to each other. But now, that all of this was over, that I was okay and alive with my girl beside me. I felt like I could win everything.

The marble floors of your family’s estate were cold against your feet as you made your way to your father’s office. The grandeur of the house, with the high ceilings and opulent decor, made it feel more like a fortress than a home, a constant heavy air of unease.
As you stood before the massive oak door, you knocked softly before stepping inside. Sat behind his large mahogany desk, the weight of your father’s presence filled the room. His sharp eyes met yours, and he motioned for you to sit.
“Morning, Daddy,” you greeted, forcing a sweet smile as you settled into the chair opposite him.
“Morning, Princess,” he replied, his voice gruff but affectionate. “I need to talk to you about some… concerns, Peter has come to me about.”
Tilting your head, you feigned innocence. “Concerns? About what, Daddy?”
“About you and James Barnes.” He leaned forward, his gaze penetrating. “He is convinced something is going on between you two.”
Letting out a light laugh, you shook your head. “Petey is always so suspicious. Bucky is like another brother to me, you know that.”
Your father’s eyes narrowed slightly. “He said he has been watching you two closely, says he’s seen things that make him think otherwise.”
Leaning in, you played the sweet and innocent ‘daddy’s girl’ card. Battling your lashes slightly. “Daddy, you said no boys, so there are no boys. And, I’ve always done what you asked. Bucky’s just Steve’s friend, and someone who looks out for me because Steve asked him to. That’s all.”
He wasn’t entirely convinced, however, his gaze softened nonetheless. “I need to be sure, Princess. Peter’s convinced there’s more to it.”
Reaching across the desk, you placed your hand over him. “You’ve always trusted me, haven’t you? I’d never do anything to break that trust. You know how Peter is, Daddy, he just likes to stir up trouble.”
The tension eased from his shoulder as he sighed. “I know. It’s just… I worry about you. This world isn’t kind, men aren’t kind, and I want to keep you safe.”
“I know, Daddy,” you softly sighed, giving his hand a reassuring squeeze. “And I promise you, there’s nothing to worry about with Bucky.”
Finally relenting, he nodded. “Alright. But, be careful. If I find out otherwise…”
“You won’t,” you assured him with a bright smile. “I love you, Daddy.”
“I love you too, Princess,” he said, his tone tender. “Now, go on. I don’t pay for that school just for you to be late.”
Relieved, you left his office. Your heart raced as you made your way toward the front door. The encounter had been too close for comfort.
~
Back at school, the usual hum of student chatter filled the air as you navigated the hallways. Classes came and went by in a blur, your mind replayed the tense conversation with your father. The warning was clear: you needed to be more careful than ever.
You and Bucky managed to find a moment alone as lunch approached. The abandoned art room was your sanctuary during school hours, a place where Peter and his suspicions couldn’t find you. The door creaked slightly as you pushed it open, and Bucky slipped in behind you, locking it with a soft click.
Without a word, he pulled you into his arms, lifting you as his lips met yours in a desperate kiss. Your fingers tangled in his hair as you pressed against him, the intensity of the moment erasing all thoughts of caution. His hands roamed over your back, pulling you closer as if the space between you was unbearable.
The kiss grew more heated as he lay you down against one of the desks, his lips trailing down your neck, making your heart race. You tugged at his shirt, needing to feel him closer, the urgency between you both palpable. His hands found your waist, pulling you closer to the edge of the desk, and you wrapped your legs around him, pulling him in.
Your breaths mingled, the room filled with the sound of your heavy breathing and the soft rustle of clothes. You could feel his heart pounding as hard as yours, the need and desire between you both electric. His hand slid under your blouse, his touch sending shivers down your spine.
Just as you were about to lose yourself completely in the moment, the bell rang, signaling the end of lunch. You both froze, reality crashing back in. With a reluctant sigh, Bucky pulled away slightly, resting his forehead against yours.
“It’s so hard to stay away from you,” Bucky whispered, his breath warm against your skin. His grip tightened around you for a moment before he let go, helping you off the desk. “Tonight is going to be difficult.”
You both straightened your clothes. The air thickened with unspoken longing and the weight of the evening’s challenges. The charity gala, organized by your father, was an annual event attended by New York’s elite. Every year since you and Bucky started, it felt like a daunting obstacle course.
Your gaze never left his as he adjusted his tie with a sigh. “I know,” you murmured, your voice laced with frustration. “But we can’t avoid it. My father’s gala is not something we can skip.”
He nodded, and you tried to steady your racing heart. “We’ll have to be extra careful,” he replied, his voice barely a whisper. He reached out, brushing his thumb just under your lip, fixing your messy lipstick. “I’ll keep my distance, no slipping up tonight.”
You watched his jaw tense, his gaze flickering toward the door as if expecting someone to burst in at any moment. “At least… until we can find a moment alone.”
~
As you descended the sweeping staircase, the soft glow of chandeliers reflected off your gown. The delicate fabric trailed behind you like a waterfall of midnight blue silk, it whispered against the marble flooring. Voices and laughter filled the ballroom as you entered. The air was thick with the scent of roses and the symphony of polite greetings, the tinkling of glasses, and the soft music from the orchestra.
Your gaze swept around the room, searching for Bucky amidst the sea of familiar faces. Standing near the bar, you found him, flanked by a few of your father’s associates. His posture was relaxed, a composed expression and drink in hand.
“Looking stunning tonight, Sunshine,” Bucky remarked quietly as you approached, his eyes flashed with admiration before he sipped his drink, masking his emotions with practiced ease.
“Thank you,” you replied with a smirk, a rush of warmth coursing through you as he averted his gaze. “You’re not looking too bad yourself.”
Bucky chuckled, glancing over at Steve and Peter who were engrossed in conversation with another guest. “Trying to blend in,” he murmured, shifting on his feet as you called over the bartender. “It’s tricky when your father’s watching.”
You nodded knowingly, familial expectations loomed over moments like these. “Peter’s in his head, again,” you sighed, scanning the room discreetly as the bartender placed your drink down. “We’ll find a moment, though.” As you took a sip of your drink, you sent Bucky a wink as you began walking away, mingling with the other guests.
~
Later in the evening, the music from the orchestra swelled and the dance floor filled with couples, you stood alone near the edge of the room, nursing a drink. Bucky approached, his steps purposeful yet discreet.
“I spoke to your father,” he said, his voice low and steady. “I asked if I could have the honor of a dance with you.”
Your heart skipping a beat at his words. “And… what did he say?”
A small, almost mischievous smile tugged at his lips. “He agreed, but… only for one song, and he’s keeping an eye on us.”
Glancing across the room, a smile spread across your lips as you spotted your father watching from a distance. His gaze was stern and protective. “Of course he is,” you murmured, amusement and exasperation in your tone.
Bucky extended his hand towards you. “May I have our annual, one song, Sunshine?” he asked, genuine warmth filling his voice.
You nodded, placing your hand in his, a spark of electricity coursing through you from the contact. He led you onto the dance floor.
As you swayed to the music, Bucky’s hand lay firmly on your waist. Despite the watchful eyes of your father, brothers, and the guests, the connect between you two was undeniable.
“You’re breathtaking,” You whispered, your grip tightening on his shoulders. “It’s touture having to pretend we’re just friends.”
“I know,” he whispered back, his lips close to your ear. “One day we won’t need to.” he promised softly.
The dance ended too soon, and as you pulled away, your father’s gaze burned into you. Bucky gave your hand a final, lingering squeeze before letting go. With that, you returned to the swirl of social interactions. Your heart raced knowing that despite the obstacles, your bond was unbreakable.

WARNING: ANGST!!!!, cheating, mean!bucky, crying.
masterlist<3
a/n: ok so i never read angst and i never thought i will write angst??? but guess what? here i am💀
this is really short sorry🙏🏼
so i’m in my 808’s & heartbreak era because my ex cheated on me with 3 girls in the same week so write about it is my best option?😃 this is literally the song “paranoid”
i’m also thinking about writing a one shot based on the song: “IFHY” by tyler the creator with maybe loki? bucky? negan? daryl? idk🤷🏻♀️
I ALSO WANT TO DO A PART 2,
WHERE LOKI HELP THE READER
AND THEY FALL IN LOVE😔🙏🏼
——
he was the sweetest man i’ve ever met, always taking me out on dates, buy me flowers every week, he was perfect? until he realized how the new world was.
you and bucky have been together for 9 months or something, it wasn’t really important… you helped him with everything about the new world, how to use a phone to how to do simple things and you didn’t mind as long as you were with him. he was perfect in every way, when he wakes up in the morning, the sun shine on him with messy hair and his perfect blue eyes or when he was coking for you, smiling and singing a song with you. Everything was perfect until he understood how the new world could work, something you never talked about, bucky never found himself really attractive after hydra even though you would say it to him almost everyday, what made him realize his “power” on woman was when a women asked him for a one night stand, he said no at first even though it makes him feel something he never felt, she asked him again andhe said no but with a bit of hesitation… she insisted and he almost said gave in but he didn’t.
after this he got home and think about it all night, of course he didn’t say anything but he was thinking about it everyday and the worst is that he truly regretted that he said no. you were perfect but… something was missing, since this woman asked him this, he wanted to know more, he didn’t have sex for like 70 years? he missed a lot of things and he wanted to know more.
——
you start to notice how bucky didn’t take you out anymore, didn’t want to do anything with you, get out more and more, coming home in the middle of the night, with messy hair, smelling alcohol and… woman’s parfum. almost all of the time you were waiting for him, sit on the floor waiting for him worried that someone might have happened. you thought that bucky would NEVER cheat on you, how a man like him could? but you needed to be honest with yourself it was happening and you couldn’t keep it inside of you anymore so you decided to confront him one morning after his training.
bucky came home after his training, covered in sweat but you didn’t care, you wanted answer.
“james?”
he understood quickly that there was a problem because you NEVER call him james.
“are you cheating on me?”
the question hit him like a truck, he really thought that you’ll never notice, he needed to find something because he knows and always knew that it was bad to cheat but it never stopped him.
“what? you’re so fucking paranoid”
“you’re never home, you’re always out with i don’t know who and when you come home in the middle of the night smelling alcohol and woman’s parfum every night? if you’re not cheating explain to me how all of this happened!!!!” you start to cry, because of the lack of sleep because of the sleepless night you passed waiting for him to come back, the stress and because the man you loved betrayed you and make you feel like a piece of shit.
“you’re crying because i’m never here but when i am you’re yelling at me and accuse me of cheating? you think i don’t know when i sleep you take my phone and check to see if you can find anything? you’re fucking pathetic and paranoid. nobody will ever love you like i do” but it wasn’t love.
“you don’t love me.”
“you should go out and breathe a little maybe you’ll feel better, JESUS.”
he get out of the room and slam the door, after a while i understood that he wasn’t mad because i didn’t trust him… he was mad because i discovered his secret.

Snape x reader - slowly falling for you
Hii!! Could you write a fic with Severus Snape x female reader after the Hogwarts battle where Severus moves away to have a peaceful life and he meets reader since they live next to each other and they become friends and then fall in love and so on. Or something like that? 💛💛🦇 - Anon💜
You didn’t notice at first that someone had moved in next to you, but when you woke up one morning to tend to some of the animals on the grass behind your house you noticed a man standing in his garden.
He looked at you as you were halfway over the back fence and you gave him a small little wave.
He blinked and gave a small wave back and you beamed, gesturing for him to come over so he did, button up his jacket to battle to cool morning air.
“Hi, I don’t think we’ve met yet. I’m (Y/N).”
You held out your hand and he looked at it with a small scowl on his face.
“Not a touch person, that’s cool. What’s your name?”
“Severus.” He bluntly replied.
“Well, nice to meet you Severus! It’s a cool name, never heard it before. I just wanted to introduce myself, I’ve gotta get to work but I’ll see you around.”
You jumped over the fence and he watched as a horse came over to you, pushing its head into your back and you laughed, pushing it back as you ran across the field to what he assumed was a stable.
He didn’t see you for the rest of the day until evening time when you came climbing back over your fence.
For the next few weeks it went like that, you could climb over the fence every morning and evening. You’d hold a small, pretty much one sided conversation with him since he didn’t talk much.
This morning was no different, you were climbing over the fence, a horse waiting patiently for you while you ran your fingers through her mane.
“Don’t you have a gate?”
You turned to Severus and smiled, giving a little shrug.
“Sure, it’s round the front, but it’s more fun to climb the fence. Plus it gives me a chance to check everyone and round them up for breakfast.”
“Everyone?” He asked.
You nodded your head.
“Oh yeah, you got the horses. This one’s Roxy, then you’ve got thunder, Apollo and Athena. The stable cat, Loki. The dogs, Buddy and Rocky.”
Severus knelt down, tending to one of his flower bushes, and you smiled softly at him.
“A lot of animals.”
“These are just the ones I own, the stable does have more but I have a separate field for mine.”
He nodded his head and looked up at you, watching as you climbed into Gea’s back, giving her a gentle pat on your neck.
“You know, if you ever get bored you can always come down.”
“No thank you.”
You shrugged.
“Your loss, later!”
Severus stood up, watching as you gentle rode away, a small heard of horses following you and Gea to the other side of the field.
When he decided to retire, decided to give up teaching and the magic world so he could live in peace this wasn’t exactly what he was imagining.
He thought he’d be living away from everyone, but apparently not.
He was living next to a hyperactive woman slightly younger than him who owned a bunch of animals and refused to use a gate like a normal human.
Rolling his eyes, he went back to carefully tending for his plants.
With summer coming around, he wanted to test out what exactly his new garden was able to grow since he wasn’t able to use magic here, strictly forbidden.
As the day rolled by, sometimes he would catch glimpses of you working, others you would just be sat on the back of a horse while it lazily walked around not seeming too bothered.
Evening rolled around and you usually came home around the same time every day, 8pm.
But as the clock ticked away he frowned, it was now nearly 9pm and you still hadn’t come home.
You seemed to follow to same routine, something he easily pick up on but decided maybe it was just a one off, so he decided to ignore it.
As the early morning came around you still were nowhere to be seen, you weren’t jumping the fence like you did at this time.
He stood there, taking a sip of his tea when he noticed a man in your garden, pulling out a few tools from the shed.
“What do you think you’re doing?”
The man stopped and turned to Severus, raising his hands.
“Just cutting the hedges and grass like (Y/N) asked.”
“I’ve never seen you before, get out of her garden immediately.”
The man laughed, grabbing his phone he walked over and pulled up his messages, showing him the text thread between you and him.
“I’m Joey, the stable hand. There was an incident at the stable so (Y/N) won’t be home for a few days and can’t work for a few weeks.”
“Incident?”
“Yeah nothing serious, she’ll be right as rain.”
Joey went back to what he was doing and Severus cursed himself for not getting one of those little phones you seemed so fond off.
“I will tend to her garden.”
Severus slipped through the gate that separated your two gardens and Joey looked up at him.
“It’s no issue man, I’ve done it before.” He smiled.
“(Y/N) feeds the animals at this time, they’re waiting.”
Joey looked to the fields where the horses were waiting at the gate and he laughed a little as he shrugged his shoulders and set everything down.
“Sure thing man, let him just ask her.”
Joey quickly phoned you and after a conversation he hung up and nodded his head.
“Yeah that’s cool, thanks man.”
With that Joey ran away and hopped the fence.
“Why can’t these people use gates?” Severus asked himself.
He worked on your garden, doing everything that needed to be done, and every day he would wait by his back door, watching the horses come to the fence.
After a couple of days, he noticed you limping into the back garden, going to hop the fence.
“You’re not supposed to be working.”
“Holy crap!”
You turned around, hand over your heart as you smiled at him and limped over, leaning on the fence separating the two gardens.
“Hey Severus, thanks for looking after my garden.”
“You’re welcome. You should be resting.”
You laughed.
“It’s fine, just a few bruises is all.”
“Looks more than a few bruises, I doubt your doctor would approve of you jumping fences and working.”
You grinned a little bit.
“I’ve had worse.”
You pushed yourself away, wincing a little as you walked back over towards the fence.
Severus quickly entered into your garden, blocking your path to the fence with his arms crossed over his chest.
“Absolutely not. If you want to go you can walk around.”
“But that’s so long!” You whined.
“I will not let you jump this fence in your condition.” He said sternly.
You huffed a little and nodded your head as you walked over towards the gate.
You were limping heavily, and as much as he didn’t want to go to the stable he didn’t feel right leaving you to walk alone, so he followed you.
He closed the gate behind him, and walked in line with you down the small country road.
“You don’t have to come you know.”
“And if you fall and get stuck in a ditch who’s going to find you?”
You went to reply but quickly closed your mouth again.
You smiled a little bit, glancing up at him as you carried on walking.
You didn’t speak much, you both just walked in silence and when you reached the front of the stables you turned around to face him.
“Want a tour?”
“No I have things to do. Goodbye.”
With that, you turned around and watched Severus leave and smiled to yourself as you rolled your eyes.
He was a strange one, but you were happy with that, it’s what him entertaining in your opinion.
You couldn’t work too hard, and you had to leave early so Joey dropped you off, and you noticed something on your doorstep.
It was a note saying that Severus had left you something and you picked up the jar.
“What is it?” Joey asked.
“The note says it’s a small natural pain relief cream.”
“Reckon it works?”
You shrugged a little and unlocked your jar.
“No idea, I’ll give it a shot though. Thanks for lift see you tomorrow.”
Joey grinned and he left while you went inside to start cooking for dinner and you looked at the cream on the table.
Your whole body was aching and the meds you had weren’t doing anything, so you decided to give it a shot.
After eating, you grabbed the jar and read the instructions he had given you.
“Apply before going to sleep, just rub the cream on the bruises?”
You hummed and shrugged.
You did that, and while the coolness of the cream felt nice and helped ease some of the irritation your skin was feeling, you didn’t feel any different.
Because of all the bruises you had, you used up nearly the whole thing.
You decided to get an early night, and when you woke up you felt a little better, and you made breakfast without an issue and made your way to the back garden.
Looking to your neighbour, you didn’t see him and quickly made your way for the fence.
“No.”
You froze in your spot.
“Gate.”
“Come on Severus! That cream you gave me worked thanks, what is it?”
“Homemade recipe.”
You nodded your head and went to climb the fence.
“Will you use the gate? It’s right there!”
You blinked at him.
“No it’s not.”
“Turn around.”
You did and you saw the brand new gate and you beamed brightly.
“You built a gate?”
“No, I just a hole in your fence. Joey built the gate I’ve never built one.”
You laughed a little and walked over, gesturing for him to come through your garden so he did and when he came over you leant up and kissed his cheek, giving him a hug.
He awkwardly stood there not sure what to do.
“Thanks Sev, you’re the best.”
With that, you quickly walked away and left.
And you used the gate for the next few days. Even when you were begged you still used the gate and Severus was just glad you were jumping fences anymore.
You came limping through that same fence that evening and you were relying heavily on fence between the gardens to walk.
Severus saw this from his kitchen window and frowned, walking out his back door.
“(Y/N)?”
You didn’t even seem to hear him, you drew a deep breath and tried to step, but your legs dropped from under you and you hardly caught yourself.
“(Y/N)!”
Severus quickly rushed over, putting your arm around his shoulder.
“What’s going on? I thought you got better?”
You slowly shook your head.
“No… some bruises haven’t healed.. I may.. may have over done it..”
You groaned in pain as you tried to push yourself up and Severus sighed.
He swept you up in his arms and carried you through to his house and you looked around.
He had a lot of books, the whole house was like a library and smelled like different herbs and spices.
He set you on his sofa, and he walked around, disappearing he came back with a few things.
First he handed you a cup and told you to drink it.
“It smells disgusting.”
“Just drink it, okay?”
You nodded and drank the drink, scrunching up your face in disgust.
You set the cup on the table with a heavy groan, and he set a bowl down, resting his arms on his legs.
“What did you do?”
“What do you mean?”
“What was the incident that caused this?”
You sighed and explained to him what happened.
Some stupid parent wasn’t controlling their kid, and the kid spooked one of the horses causing you to be thrown off and you landed on the concrete floor.
He nodded his head.
“I thought you were using that pain relief I gave you?”
“Honestly it was gone in less than a day, I had a lot of bruises.” You laughed weakly.
“Shouldn’t they have healed by now?”
“I mean, most have?”
“That was that all about outside?”
You sighed and turned around, lifting the back of your shirt to show him a huge ugly bruise across your back.
“This I think. It wasn’t much of an issue, but Uhm.. I may have fallen at work? Which may have made it worse?”
“Just sit still.”
Severus took the bowl and started to gently put the cream on your skin, messaging it in.
“Ow.. ouch okay that hurts can’t I just go lay down?”
“It’ll help just stop being so stubborn and stay still.”
Once he was done, he pulled your shirt down and let you turn around and handed you some water.
“You’re staying here, someone needs to keep an eye on you.”
“I can look after myself Severus.” You huffed.
“Apparently not. So you’re staying, give me your keys I’ll get you some clothes.”
You fought him for a few minutes but eventually you gave in and handed him your keys, letting him go get you some clothes and you laid down.
You like the atmosphere in his home, it was peaceful and different to other peoples houses, unique.
While you were waiting for him to come back, you hugged a pillow to your chest as stared up at the ceiling.
Severus had some issue finding your clothes, he didn’t want to go through your draws, so he grabbed a pair of shorts he found on your bed, and a jumper from your wardrobe and your phone charger.
He made sure to lock everything up and returned to his home.
“I didn’t want to go through your stuff, so I’ve got you shorts and a jumper. I also got your charger.”
He waited for a reply but didn’t get one so he walked into the living room.
You were fast asleep and all he could do was roll his eyes and set the stuff on the table.
He grabbed a blanket and covered you up, stopped to look at how peaceful you looked like and brushed some hair from your face a small smile on his lips.
He didn’t want to wake you up, so he left you there for the evening, but eventually he picked you up and carried you to his room, tucking you into his bed.
“Severus…?” You mumbled out.
He hummed, turning around.
You gave him a lazy smile and gestured for him to come over.
He did and crouched down, and you kissed his forehead.
“Thanks for everything…”
You yawned and rolled over and he couldn’t help but smile a little more and stand up.
He left you to sleep there and he settled for sleeping on the sofa feeling an emotion he hadn’t felt in a while.

Summary: Your fiancé goes missing, and the handsome Detective Loki is put on the case. Was this meant to be, and will you ever find your fiancé?
—————————————
David Loki was not one for personal relationships. No, he had a hard time letting people in, and an even harder time with people even getting past his stony facade.
David didn’t mind, he actually preferred it. No one to worry about. No one to worry about him. No reason to rush home in the evening, giving him complete freedom to dedicate every waking moment to his work.
That was until the day he met you. Neither of you realised that was the day that changed everything for you both, when your eyes locked on your front lawn, as you stood, distraught, giving as much information as you could to the two officers who had arrived on scene first.
“He, uhm… he always leaves the house at 7:30 in the morning, and depending on traffic is usually home by 5:30pm.” You nodded, trying to recall your fiancés regular work schedule.
“Okay,” the tall cop taking down the information on his notepad nodded, “and you say you don’t have any issues, just a regular happy household?” He queried.
You nodded, “Yeah we’re happy. We have our routine and sometimes we have to go through the motions like any other couple, but we don’t typically fight, if that’s what you mean.” You confirm.
You loved your fiancé, but you had been together nearly 10 years, and the romance had begun to fizzle out. You were best friends and you still had other aspects of life that you enjoyed together, it just wasn’t in the bedroom anymore.
“Thank you ma’am. I think we have what we need for now. We’ll be back in touch.” The cop confirmed. He turned around and spotted Loki doing his rounds, looking out for any suspicious details.
“Ah, detective! I’ve finished speaking to Miss (Y/L/N), got the basics, registration plate, pictures of the missing person, yada yada. I don’t know if you want to speak to her about anything else.” He said, walking with his partner back to his car.
Loki nodded, and he walked up to where you stood with your arms crossed, biting at your fingers anxiously.
You had said goodbye to your fiancé, Carter, that morning in much your usual fashion, giving him a peck on the cheek as he walked out the door. He smiled at you as he turned around while walking down the drive, “Will text you when I get to the office, love you!” He called.
Carter was a good man, he had never done wrong by you, and you had never done wrong by him, and that is why your relationship was still happy despite the intimacy issues. You still had a lot of fun, and went on dates and had adventures from time to time, but every now and then you were reminded of what was missing, as you both craved something that simply was not there anymore.
Carter had not texted you that day, and you’d dropped him the odd message during the day to check if he was ok. You chalked it up to him forgetting and getting busier than usual at work.
But by 6pm, you began to really worry, as he wasn’t home yet. It was not like Carter, ever punctual, to be home late, he loved his routine. He knew dinner was always waiting for him, as you finished work at 4pm each day, so would never make you wait.
You called his phone and it went straight to voicemail. You tried him all night before eventually calling the cops. They told you to wait 24 hours.
Reluctantly you waited and waited all night, and by morning when he still hadn’t walked in the door, you decided to call his place of work. They confirmed that Carter did not show up the morning before.
You called the police to report this and that is when they sent out a few officers and Detective Loki.
“Miss (Y/L/N).” Loki nodded at you, extending his hand to give yours a shake, “I’m Detective Loki, I’ll be handling your case.”
You took his hand and offered him a week smile. “Thank you Detective. Is there anything else I can do? I feel so helpless.” Your hand shook in his, your mind giving you the worst scenarios all night, and you were exhausted.
“I just need to take a look around the house, would that be okay?” He said cautiously, noting how fragile you looked.
You nodded and gestured for him to follow you into the house. You showed him around each room and left him to do what he needed to do, while you sat in the living room, trying Carters number again.
After four more failed attempts you threw your phone across the room with a huff and drew your knees up to your chest in an attempt to control your breathing.
Loki came out of your bedroom upon hearing the noise. He bit the inside of his cheek when he saw how upset you looked. Loki hardly cared for adults, they often caused their own issues and their behaviours didn’t help them, but something was tugging on his heart strings for you.
“Miss (Y/L/N), is there anyone who can come out to be with you during this time? It might help to have some friends or family around-“
You shook your head, cutting him off mid sentence, “No, I’m not from around here and my family live abroad now anyway, I haven’t had a chance to make any friends here just yet. But I’m fine, I just want to focus on finding Carter.” You said sternly.
Loki nodded, his hands on his hips.
“Is there anything else I can help with Detective?” You asked, an awkward tension filling the room.
“Yeah actually, does your fiancé have a computer, or laptop, anything of that sort?” He queried.
“Yeah he has a laptop somewhere, I can try and find it.” You said, pushing yourself off of the couch.
You walked past Loki, taking in his oaky cologne, and started sifting through the drawers and cupboards in the bedroom. You eventually found the laptop stashed up at the top of the cupboard, and handed it to Loki.
“I don’t think he uses it much, but if it’ll help you find him, have at it. I don’t know his password though.” You shrugged.
Loki offered you a gentle smile, and tucked the laptop under his arm. He was about to turn to leave when you stopped him, with pleading eyes.
“Detective… what do I do now?” You asked, looking helpless. Loki felt incredibly uncomfortable in that moment, he was never good at this comforting business.
He shifted uncomfortably on his feet, before eventually making eye contact.
“Just take care of yourself, keep trying his phone, and try not to worry too much. We will find him.” He offered what he thought to be a reassuring smile, but to you it just looked like he was in pain.
You nodded, “Thank you.”
Loki left and drove to the station to get his team on cracking the laptop password. He didn’t know what he’d find but was hoping for any indication of where he could have gone. He would also check any accidents in the area between the house and Carters place of work for the cars registration plate, and would call local hospitals to see if anyone matching his description had been brought in.
Loki worked late into that evening, making calls and searching the internet for anything relevant, and by the time everyone had gone home, he was no closer to finding anything.
He decided to call it a day and would visit Carters place of work tomorrow, to see if any of his colleagues could shed some light.
As Loki drove home, a sudden thought popped into his mind, and he redirected his journey to your home.
Loki got out of the car and made his way up your cute little front yard, littered with pretty wildflowers, and a winding stone path leading to the front door.
He knocked gently, and waited for you to answer.
Eventually you answered the door, eyes red and puffy, clearly from crying all day.
“Detective?” You were surprised to see him at your door, and had felt a little deflated, part of you thinking it may have been Carter coming home. You suddenly had an even worse feeling, wondering if he had come to deliver bad news.
“Miss (Y/L/N), sorry to bother you so late. I just had a few more questions I was hoping to ask. I can come back tomorrow if now isn’t a great time?” He offered, suddenly realising his intrusion as you stood before him in a short, satin pyjama set. Loki diverted his eyes to the ceiling awkwardly.
“No no, come in, please. It’s a welcome distraction to be honest.” You mumbled, grabbing your cardigan and pulling it around you tightly. You ushered him into the kitchen.
“Can I get you a tea or coffee, Detective?” You offered, flicking on the kettle.
“No, thanks.” He smiled kindly, standing in the doorway of the kitchen. He scanned the pretty white and blue room, trying to form a mental picture of what you and Carter were like in your day to day.
“I was just hoping to delve a little deeper into what life is like for you and Mr Benson, on an average day to day. I know it seems redundant but we need to cover all bases, that’s all.” He blinked hard a few times, suddenly feeling like an imposing presence.
You turned to face him, leaning against the counter top. “Okay, let’s see…” you took a deep breath as you thought. “Carter leaves for work before I do every day, he gets up, makes us both coffee, leaves for work. I leave about an hour later. I get home about 4pm each day, and I’ll start dinner so that it’s usually ready by the time he gets home.
He’ll get home, we eat, he loads the dishwasher and we then watch tv for an hour or so. We take turns showering and then we sleep. We’re not all that exciting unfortunately.” You sighed, crossing your arms.
Loki nodded, scribbling down notes on his little notepad.
“And you told my colleague that Mr Benson typically gets home from work at around 5:30pm most days?” He queried.
You nodded, “Almost always, if traffic isn’t awful.”
“And what about weekends, do you do anything special then?”
You shook your head, “Not particularly, I paint in my spare time, I also enjoy gardening. Carter has some friends he often plays golf with. It’s not my scene so we don’t always spend the weekends together, but sometimes we’ll go out for the day, have lunch, see a movie, that sort of thing.” You said with a soft but sad smile.
Loki nodded, making a mental note as he noticed that this particular topic seemed to be a slightly sore topic.
Suddenly Loki’s phone buzzed, as a text from his tech team leader came through.
Rodger:
“Hey, got the laptop password. You might want to come and see this.”
Loki shoved his phone in his pocket and his eyes flicked up to you. “Thank you Miss (Y/L/N), that’s all I wanted to check. I’ll leave you with in peace.” He smiled at you genuinely, and went to head out the door.
“Detective!” You called, stopping him in his tracks. He turned around to face you.
“Could you not call me that? Makes me feel kind of old.” You chuckled, eyes lighting up for the first time since he’d seen you. “Could you call me (Y/N) if it’s not too much trouble?”
Loki smiled, looking down at his feet. He nodded, “Sure, but only if you call me David.”
You smiled at him, sort of pleasantly surprised at how the corner of his eyes crinkled when he smiled.
“Goodnight David.”
“Goodnight (Y/N).”
And with that David left, and made his way to Rodger’s house to see what he had found.

If it's okay can I please ask for Loki Beelzebub and Poseidon but how are they react to meeting Kianna's older brother Subaru
In her backstory she actually left Subaru alive since he helped her and they see each other as siblings
Meeting Subaru and Yui (Sibs of S/O)
Type of Writing: Request Characters: Loki, Beelzebub, and Poseidon Name: Meeting Subaru and Yui (Sibs of S/O) Requester: @nunezs-stuff
A/N: Much like with my past work, if you want to find some more information on this ‘Kianna’, you can go to the requester’s account and read all about her OC. Here, Yui is technically alive, since this is set after the events of the story, so they’re all dead and in Valhalla.

🐍 Loki has a smaller family when it comes to the Godly-standards, he has Odin as his uncle and Thor as his cousin. While in Pantheons such as the Greek, there were four brothers with one being married and having three kids, Zeus’ blood and non, and there was Kronos and Rhea
🐍 So, when he officially met you, he wasn’t very surprised to hear about you having a sister and brother. In fact, Loki basically begged for you to introduce them to his own family
🐍 It took many different tries on his part to actually get you to consider bringing in your siblings in for a visit, but when you told him you gave in and were bringing the two in for a reunion of the Norse Pantheon
🐍 Looking back at the two behind you, you noticed that Yui smiled as she adjusted the collar around her kimono as Subaru adjusted the bow holding his outfit together, and once they gave you their respective nods, you began to walk ahead and opened the doors to the Norse Pantheon’s estate
🐍 Loki was getting bored floating around and pranking his fellow Deities, it just wasn’t the same without his amazing S/O alongside him
" Loki? Are you around? "
🐍 Opening his eyes and turning upside down from the tree branch, Loki looked around for the beautiful eyes of his S/O, only to be immediately met with the sight of mismatching red and pink eyes
" Woah! Watch where ya’ hang there. " " Y/N? " " Hello there, Loki. "
🐍 Okay, this guy was so confused right now…
🐍 Once he caught sight of you, your boyfriend wrapped himself around you from behind, slightly glaring at the man and woman, blissfully unaware of who they were to you
" Loki, meet Subaru and Yui, my ‘adoptive’ brother and my sister. " " Oh… my bad. " " Meh, I’ve had worse reactions than that. Note; don’t go to a church as a vampire, doesn’t end well. " " Yeah. Besides, we understand, you’ve never met us until now, so it’s understandable why you’re weary of us. "
🐍 Loki’s eyes slightly widened at how loose they seemed, while you normally were more tightly bound with superiority issues
🐍 As Yui held out her hand, the calls of Odin’s bird, Huginn and Muninn echoed in your ears, alerting both you and Loki that Odin and Thor were ready to meet your siblings, just to make sure they were alright to visit again

🪰 He was surprised that this curse has allowed him to even be around you and care for you, nonetheless even come into a full-on relationship filled with love around you without you being harmed
🪰 When you had admitted that you had a couple people you wanted him to meet, Beelzebub was put off, since for many years, he grew up with this curse and because of it, never really had anyone before you and Hades
🪰 Holding your hand tightly, Beelzebub looked down at you and sighed, knowing that you would provide your dearest God with any kind of comfort or space if he needed it
" Are you ready, Beel? " " I suppose… " " Open the doors for my siblings! "
🪰 As the guards of the estate opened the doors in fear of your rage, you noticed the feeling of Beelzebub’s grip on your hand tighten as the doors creaked open further and further until the sight of a tall man and shorter woman were shown
🪰 Smiling gently at the duo, you lightly pulled your boyfriend with you to great your guests, or rather, your family
🪰 Yui looked at your boyfriend and back at you with confusion before Subaru cocked an eyebrow and practically glared at Beelzebub, not fearing that he was a God set to participate in the upcoming event of Ragnarok in a few days
" Ah! My apologies, you must be Y/N’s boyfriend. I’m Yui, Y/N’s older sister. And this is- " " Subaru, their ‘adoptive’ older brother. "
🪰 You sighed as Subaru kept his stern look on your boyfriend, his form not shaking or anything as the Lord of the Flies just stared back without any emotion inside his black eyes
🪰 Gripping his hand tighter and making him slightly flinch at your surprisingly strong grip, Beelzebub lowered his guard slightly, just enough to notify Subaru that he were not going to harm you or Yui
" Would you guys like a tour around the estate? " " That would be amazing, little sibling! "
🪰 Despite the fact that Subaru was still burning holes into the head of the man you were holding hands with, you understood that Subaru was only trying to protect you from harm, and you knew it was fruitless. Beelzebub loved you, even the Gods you have met said so, and they hate mentioning stuff like that

🔱 Poseidon didn’t even like having to see his own family, nonetheless seeing someone else’s, it just made him feel slightly awkward. But, he could also say he was annoyed, he isn’t fond of social events, preferring to spend most time to himself
🔱 He sat down at the small table on your bedroom’s balcony and heard as the front doors opened with a loud drag from their sheer mass and size
🔱 Just at that moment, you knocked on the door and walked inside your room, alerting your soon-to-be husband that you were going to tell him who had come by for a visit, and whether it was for him or you
" Poseidon, my love, it seems we both have guests. " " And who, perhaps, are these guests? " " They are my two siblings, Yui and Subaru. "
🔱 Poseidon knew that you had siblings, as during one of your first dates years ago, you and him spoke about your family relationships, so parents, siblings, everything like that
🔱 Looking from the dark and colorful ocean to you, the God of the Seas sighed mentally, speaking to some random people was something that he did not want to participate in that day. He specifically scheduled no meetings for said reason
🔱 But, no matter, as long as they don’t try testing his patience, he can hold himself back for you
🔱 Holding out his arm, you wrapped your arms through his and began to walk down to the main room to meet up with the two siblings you hadn’t spoken to for the few months you have lived with your lover
" My dear siblings, to what do we owe the pleasure of your presence? " " Y/N! You haven’t spoken to us in months! What do you have to say for yourself? " " First of all, thank you for the gracious hello back. Second, I would like to introduce you to my fiancé, the Greek God of the Seas and the third-born son of Cronus and Rhea, Poseidon. "
🔱 Yui’s eyes widened and the man beside you could sense her aura slightly depleted in fear, but, he could also tell that the man beside her aura had enlarged with protectiveness
" P-P-Poseidon?! Oh my! I’m so sorry for the rude introduction! I am Yui, your lovely to-be older sister, and this is Subaru, our older ‘adoptive’ brother. " " Pleasure. "
🔱 You looked into your to-be’s ocean-blue eyes and slightly pinched his arm, making him look into your eyes with shock hidden underneath a layer of emptiness glossing his form
🔱 Subaru groaned and had to hold Yui back from running over and hugging Poseidon and you, since he knew that the God of the Seas was one with very little love for physical touch

Every Little Thing (Is Magic)
Summary: Loki x Fe!Reader -> You and Loki are friends, but what happens when some pain-in-the-ass magician decides to stick his powers in where they're not wanted?
Disclaimer: This is part one. Not proof-read. Watched Supergirl and felt like writing. Like, comment and reblog for part two. Fluff, humor?, Loki being more excited than a puppy for a hot minute.
If someone had told you years ago that one day you would be hanging out with The Avengers only to find yourself in a compromised situation that included yourself, The God of Mischief and a multi-universal-pain-in-the-ass magician - you wouldn’t have believed them.
Hell, you couldn’t believe it was happening, even when it was right in front of your eyes.
When you had joined the team via the recommendation of Clint Barton, you hadn’t expected to find a close friendship in The God of Mischief himself but, surprisingly, you had.
And somehow, between first meeting and the present time, you and Loki had found yourselves having a movie night each Friday.
He enjoyed, despite denying it for a while, the world you lived on. Maybe it wasn’t as grand or glistening as Asgard, but it had its moments. The way the rain fell on an empty afternoon. The way the sun would rise just over the horizon each morning and had every place on the earth look so magical, even the darkest corners looked like a paradise.
But, half-way through the second viewing of Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, someone interrupted your peace time.
Loki had been sitting on the sofa and immediately jumped when he heard a second voice and you let out a short scream before dropping the glass bottle of milk on the floor.
“Oh, I am sorry. Here, let me.”
The guy, dressed in a dark suit and fedora, waved his hand and the milk was cleaned up and disappeared in an instant. A second movement and a brand new bottle appeared on the side of the counter, fresh and cold.
“Who are you?”
“That isn’t of importance.” He waved off.
“I believe the lady asked you a question.”
The nameless man turned around on his heels with a smile. “Ah, Loki. I’ve met many of you. Nice to see you again. Please, there is no need for weapons here.”
With a move of his hand, Loki’s weapons had disappeared leaving both you and him shocked.
“Now, I was hoping we could both speak.”
Your head was trying to register everything but it was having a difficult time not trying to kill the man in front of you.
“Who are you?” you asked again.
“Not of importance.”
“I believe it is.” you replied.
The man smiled. “Well, if you must call me something, call me…Vel. Short for Velho.”
You leaned a little to view Loki past Velho, to which he seemed a little offended.
“Do you recognise the name?”
Loki thought for a moment before looking at Velho. “It’s Finnish for Wizard.”
“You’re a wizard?”
Again, he looked offended.
“Darling, couldn’t you already see that?” He shrugged. “Never mind. Besides, we’re wasting time. Why don’t we get on with it?”
“Get on with what? Look, Velho, I don’t know where or…what you are but, please, if you need help, we can-”
Velho laughed. “Oh, darling, I don’t need help. But my help is needed.”
“What on earth for-?”
Suddenly the room around you disappeared and rather than being your apartment, it spun and changed until you were in a large ballroom with long and grand-designed tables and crystal chandeliers.
“That’s better, don’t you think?”
“Whoa, wait a moment-”
Suddenly, with a snap of his fingers, Velho made Loki disappear.
“Whoa! What - Where did you send him?”
Velho was circling you with a finger pressed to his lips and his mind running wild. “Don’t worry, dear. He’s just getting ready.”
You stood tall. “Where?”
“Nowhere important.” Velho sized you up with his fingers as if he was measuring a painting from far away. “Ah, yes. That’s it.”
You yelped as you felt your feet shift from under you and your entire outfit that had consisted of comfortable pyjama bottoms and a long sleeve t-shirt changed into a corset tight wedding dress which put Enchanted to shame.
“What the hell?”
“Yes, I agree. Much too poofy. How about-”
Velho waved his hand again and you spun until you found yourself in an entirely new dress. Less poofy but much more lace.
“What the hell are you doing?”
“Getting you ready.” Velho replied as if you knew what he was talking about.
“Getting ready for what?”
“Much too lace. You look like a botched job at a Victorian Era wedding. Ah, I think I’ve got it.”
You didn’t pay attention to the next dress but the moment you stopped spinning you put your hands out and Velho stopped talking.
“Hold on! What are you getting me ready for? And don’t you dare say it’s not important. And where is Loki? Bring him back, now.”
Vehlo smiled. “He’ll be here in a few minutes. But why don’t you take a look.”
A mirror appeared behind him and as he stepped out of the way, you saw the dress he had put you in.
The open sleeves draped down to the floor with elegant gold details. The dress had a transparent, hand-crafted opening whilst velvet fabric bookended it. The shoulders contained the same golden detail and the train seemed to continue on forever behind you, and the veil that was attached to the flower crown that adorned your head was longer still.
Your hair had changed too.
From the messy and dirty bun you had thrown it into, you found it clean, curled and framing your face in a way you always wished to have got it, but in reality had never been successful.
Wisps of glitter seemed to float around you, blessing you with a romantic essence you never believed you could hold.
You looked like you had just stepped out of a fairytale story.
“And to hide it from your groom.”
A soft wave of his hand and you found a simple cloak wrap over your shoulders only to find the inside like silk against your skin with gentle details of ivy, lavender and roses all on a golden background.
Carefully, Velho moved the hood to sit on the crown of your hair where it draped down and hid your beauty whilst somehow showing it off secretly to the world.
Now you were definitely in a fairytale.
“Wait. Groom?”
“Ah,” Velho stepped back. “I almost forgot.”
With a snap of his fingers, Loki suddenly burst in through the double doors down the hall causing you to turn.
He must have been running down multiple corridors, trying to find the right one to find you because once he laid his eyes on you, there was a complete look of exhaustion and relief.
“Thank the gods, you’re okay.”
“I’m okay.”
Only now did you realise what he was wearing.
A suit.
A wedding suit.
Now you snapped your attention back to Velho. “What are you doing?”
“Just what should be happening sooner than later.”
“What?”
You found the room spinning again and you found yourself back in your apartment, in your pyjamas except for your hair which was not messy or dirty but clean and in soft waves and half pulled back.
“But I can see you’re both not just quite ready for that yet. But maybe I can hurry things along a little bit.”
The look in Loki’s eyes suddenly changed and you were taken aback as he opened up his arms, called your name and came towards you.
“My love, I have been waiting centuries for you and I have finally found you. I love you.”
Loki continued in a romantic speech, hugging you multiple times in between. Meanwhile, you stood awkwardly, not quite knowing how to accept the sudden over the top affection.
“What did you do to him?”
“Oh, nothing.”
You pulled yourself from Loki’s arms and rushed away from him only to find him back at your side again.
He kept calling you “My love,” and complimenting you to the high heavens.
“Turn it off.”
Velho smiled and clicked his fingers and within seconds Loki was on the floor, holding his head.
“What the hell just happened?”
You bent down and looked at him. “Follow my finger.”
“I feel like I’ve just hit my head a thousand times over on a rock.” Loki told you. “Is this what a hangover feels like?”
You shrugged. “Sometimes. Depends on the drink. Are you still in love with me?”
Loki looked at you a little confused. “No more than usual.”
“Let me help you.”
Loki stood with your help, still holding his head. “What happened?”
“He did.”
“Guilty.” Velho smiled. “Now, I best be off. And, just a small warning darling, his powers don’t work on me. Nobody’s do. So, you’re just gonna have to figure this one out without magic. See you soon, my darling.”
“No, no, no, no, no-”
A snap of his fingers, a click of his heels and a hand behind his back, Velho smiled and Loki went from panic to having so much adoration and love for you, it surpassed that of a puppy when its owner comes home. Meanwhile, your panic turned into annoyance as Loki held you in his arms so tightly, it no longer felt like him.
There had to be a way to fix it.

Portal to My Heart (Book 1.5) Chapter Twelve
Loki x Reader
Chapter Twelve: In the Ring
Summary: Loki and (Y/N)'s plans get messed up when Thor arrives on Sakaar.
(Y/N) grinned and rolled her eyes as Loki pulled people in with his tales of his and all the trouble he gotten into (embellished with heroism, of course). She had to admit, it was entertaining.
“There was a wormhole in space and time beneath me,” said Loki. “At that moment…I let go.” He grinned as everyone laughed, but his eyes went to (Y/N) to see her smile. That was his real validation.
“Loki? (Y/N)?” said a familiar voice. “Loki! (Y/N)!”
(Y/N) and Loki’s heads went up to see Thor strapped to a chair. They stared in shock.
“Over here. Over here,” he urged.
Loki smiled at the group around him. “Excuse us for a moment.”
“Give us a second,” said (Y/N), standing up with him and walking over to Thor.
Loki shushed Thor as he kept saying their names.
“What?” said Thor.
“You’re alive?” said Loki.
“Yes, of course I’m alive,” said Thor.
“What are you doing here?” said (Y/N). It had been weeks since they arrived. It was strange that he’d show up at the same place.
“What do you mean, what am I doing?” said Thor in confusion. “I’m stuck in this stupid chair. Where’s your chairs?”
“We didn’t get chairs,” said Loki.
“Get me out of this one,” said Thor.
“We can’t,” said (Y/N).
“Get me out,” said Thor.
“We can’t,” repeated Loki.
“What?” said Thor.
“We made friends with this man,” said Loki. “The Grandmaster.”
“Kind of,” said (Y/N). “He mostly flirts with us.”
Thor looked horrified. “He’s crazy.”
“We’ve gained his favor,” said Loki.
“Again, he finds us attractive,” translated (Y/N).
“The Bifrost brought us here weeks ago,” continued Loki.
“Weeks ago?” gasped Thor.
“Yeah,” said (Y/N).
“But you guys fell out moments before me, and I just got here,” said Thor.
“What are you whispering about?” whispered Grandmaster, appearing beside them.
Everyone jerked back.
Grandmaster grinned. “Time works real different around these parts. On any other world, I’ll be, like, millions of years old. But here on Sakaar…” He trailed off. He was definitely super old. “In any case, you two know this, uh—” he glanced at Thor “—you call yourself Lord of Thunder?”
“God of Thunder,” corrected Thor. He glanced at Loki and (Y/N). “Tell him.”
“I’ve never met this man before in my life,” said Loki.
“He’s my brother,” said Thor.
“Adopted,” said Loki.
“Is he any kind of fighter?” said Grandmaster.
(Y/N) was about to say no to spare Thor whatever it meant to be a fighter, but Thor spoke before she could. “You take this thing out of my neck, and I’ll show you.”
Now, I’m not one to talk since I run my mouth, but that was dumb, thought (Y/N).
Grandmaster grinned. “Now look at that. He’s threatening me. Hey, Sparkles, here’s the deal. If you want to get back to Ass-place, Assberg—”
“Asgard,” said Thor through gritted teeth.
“Any contender who defeats my champion, their freedom they shall win,” said Grandmaster.
“Fine. Then point me in the direction of whoever’s ass I need to kick,” said Thor furiously.
“That’s what I call contender!” said Grandmaster eagerly. He lifted a stick. “Direction would be this way, Lord.” He waved it, and Thor’s chair rolled away.
“Ah! Loki! (Y/N)!” said Thor.
“Good luck!” said (Y/N). He’s going to need it.
l
“You should speak to Thor,” said (Y/N).
“Yes, I was thinking of offering him to join us,” said Loki.
“Loki, he seems worried,” said (Y/N). “Obviously, Hela made it to Asgard. I want to free the people of Sakaar, but Asgard is also in danger.”
Loki paused and glanced at her. “You’re worried about them.”
“They’re…They’re not my people, but they’re people. I don’t want to see them hurt,” said (Y/N).
“I don’t believe going back is a smart decision for our survival. But…I’ll speak to Thor and offer him our support. However, I’ll try to get him to help us so he doesn’t have to go through this battle,” said Loki.
“Thank you,” said (Y/N).
Loki was tempted to reach out and squeeze (Y/N)’s hand. He was doing this for her. But he couldn’t let himself or (Y/N) get killed fighting a losing battle against Hela.
l
“…the glorious death,” said Loki, finishing the prayer with Thor.
Thor turned around to find Loki behind him.
“Hurts, doesn’t it?” said Loki. “Being lied to. Being told you’re one thing and then learning it’s all a fiction.”
Thor threw a rock at him, and it passed through the illusion.
“You didn’t think I’d really come and see you, did you?” said Loki. “This place is disgusting.” Thor threw another rock. Loki sighed. “Does this mean you don’t want my help? Look, (Y/N) and I can’t jeopardize our position with Grandmaster. It took us time to win his trust. He’s a lunatic, but he can be amenable. What I’m telling you is, you could join us at the Grandmaster’s side. Then, you know, an accident befalls the Grandmaster, and then…we move on up. And then we go and help Asgard.” He shifted. “That’s what (Y/N) plans.” Thor threw another rock. “You’re not seriously thinking of going back, are you? Our sister destroyed your hammer like a piece of glass. She’s stronger than any of us. She’s stronger than you. You don’t stand a chance. Do you understand what I’m saying to you?” No response. Loki scoffed. “Fine. Go back and get yourself killed. But don’t bring (Y/N) into your mess.” Still nothing. “Say something!”
Thor chuckled mirthlessly. “What would you like me to say? You faked your own death, you stole the throne, you stripped Odin of his powers…stranded him on Earth to die, releasing the Goddess of Death. If (Y/N) gets hurt because of it, it is as much on your shoulders as anyone else’s. Have I said enough or would you like me to go back further than the past two days?” Loki swallowed as Thor’s words sunk in.
But he took out his frustration on Thor. “You know, I haven’t this beloved champion he thinks of…but I’ve heard he’s astonishingly savage. I’ve placed a large wager against you tomorrow. Don’t let me down.”
He stopped the illusion as Thor threw a bottle at him.
Loki turned to face the bathroom where he could see (Y/N) running a brush over her hair lightly. He clenched his fist. He had to keep (Y/N) safe. He had to keep her from going to Asgard on her own or with Thor. She could get killed, and Loki…Loki couldn’t let the woman he loved be killed.
He’d do whatever it took.
l
The cheers of the stadium were deafening as (Y/N) and Loki walked into Grandmaster’s viewing booth. They took drinks from a waitress’s platter and made their way to a couch to sit down.
“It’s time for the main event,” announced Grandmaster, his giant hologram turning to the crowd. “Making his first appearance, though he looks quite promising, got a couple tricks of his sleeve…I’ll say no more, see what you think! Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you…Lord of Thunder.”
Boos echoed through the stadium. Clearly, Thor was not a favorite in this fight.
“He got a haircut,” said (Y/N).
Loki leaned forward. “Indeed. I can’t imagine he’s pleased.”
Thor’s long hair and beard were gone, trimmed to a respectable length. He held a shield and blunt weapon. He gazed around him as people shouted and jeered.
“Watch out for his fingers,” said Grandmaster. “They make sparks.” He rubbed his hands. “Now, let’s get ready to welcome the big guy! Here he comes!” His champion was coming. Green fireworks burst around the colosseum as people cheered. A powerful rumble rocked the ground, coming from inside the other entrance.
“He is a creature,” said Grandmaster. “What can we say about him? Well, he’s unique. There’s none like him. I feel a special connection with him.” Thor put a Sakaarian helmet on. “He’s undefeated. He’s the reigning. He’s the defending. Ladies and gentlemen…I give you…your incredible…” A muscular humanoid in green burst through the doors, holding an axe, hammer, and roaring. “Hulk!”
Holy shit! (Y/N)’s eyes widened. Never in a million years would she have picked Thor to show up on Sakaar.
“Yes!” shouted Thor, grinning.
The cheering died down as everyone gazed at Thor’s reaction in confusion.
Loki’s face paled even more than usual, and he stood up shakily. “I have to get off this planet…”
(Y/N) grabbed his wrist and pulled him back to the couch. “Come on, ‘puny god.’ Don’t be a coward, stick it out.”
“This is gonna be fun,” said Grandmaster, sliding into a seat on the couch beside them.
“Hey!” Thor grinned and waved at Grandmaster’s box. “We know each other! He’s a friend from work!”
Grandmaster’s face made a strange expression at how exhilarated Thor seemed, and he looked at Loki and (Y/N). They carefully avoided his gaze. Whoever these latest pickups from the portals were, they were certainly strange.
Hulk roared, and the crowd cheered again.
“Where have you been?” said Thor. “Everybody thought you were dead. But so much has happened since I last saw you. I lost my hammer. Like, yesterday, so that’s still pretty fresh. I saw (Y/N) fry someone to death. That was…weird. Oh, Loki. Loki’s alive, can you believe it? He’s up there.” He gestured to the booth. “Hey! Loki! Look who it is!”
Loki was frozen, face pale. (Y/N) was having the time of her life as she watched his expression.
“Banner, I never thought I would say this…but I’m happy to see you,” said Thor.
“Hulk! Hulk! Hulk!” shouted the crowd. Hulk gazed around at them.
“Banner!” said Thor. “Hey, Banner!”
“No Banner! Only Hulk!” said Hulk.
“What are you doing? It’s me, it’s Thor!”
Hulk lunged and slammed his weapons on the ground. Thor barely avoided and rolled to the side. Hulk spun and hit Thor in the side, though, and the Asgardian went flying. He rolled to a stop and jumped up. He extended two swords strapped to his back and faced Hulk.
“Banner, we’re friends!” said Thor. “This is crazy. I don’t want to hurt you!”
Hulk swung at him, and Thor blocked his attacks with his strength. Hulk bent Thor’s weapons and kicked him into the wall. The crowd roared for their champion.
I am so glad we avoided that, thought (Y/N).
Hulk’s hammer slammed into the wall by Thor’s head, and the Asgardian pulled it from the wall as Hulk stormed down on him. Thor jumped out and swung. The hammer hit Hulk squarely in the side, and he tumbled away along the edges of the stadium.
“What?” Grandmaster furrowed his brow. He hadn’t expected anyone to be able to handle Hulk.
The crowd quieted as Hulk was silent and still in a pile of debris, and Thor walked closer. Hulk shook his head and stood.
“Hey, big guy,” said Thor. “The sun’s getting real low.” He held out a hand. Hulk reached out. “That’s it. The sun’s going down. I won’t hurt you anymore. No one will.”
Hulk grabbed Thor’s hand and slammed him back and forth on the ground. The crowd erupted in cheers. (Y/N) winced.
Oh, I’ve seen that before.
“Yes!” Loki leapt from his seat and pumped his fist in the air. “That’s how it feels!” He laughed wildly. He grinned at (Y/N) and Grandmaster. “I’m just a huge fan of the sport.”
“You feeling avenged?” teased (Y/N) as Loki sat.
“Absolutely,” said Loki with a side smile.
Hulk and Thor ran at each other, exchanging further blows. The two were both incredibly strong and resilient, taking and dealing hits with ease. Thor hit Hulk in the head, sending him to his knees, and knocked the axe in half. The audience gasped at the sight of their champion struggling. Thor didn’t give Hulk a moment and slammed his hammer into his side. Hulk fell back.
Hulk jumped up and grabbed Thor’s hammer, throwing it to the side. Thor blocked his punch and hit Hulk in the head. Thor ducked under Hulk’s punches and landed several to Hulk’s stomach. Over and over, Hulk missed an attack, and Thor darted around him to land his own. Finally, Hulk managed to pivot and land a punch to Thor’s face.
The crowd cheered as Hulk gained the upper hand again and pummeled Thor into the ground. Grandmaster chuckled. (Y/N) and Loki winced.
Vam!
Thor erupted in a column of lightning as he punched Hulk. Electricity shot the green man backwards, off of Thor. The audience gasped as Hulk fell through the air. He hit the ground with a rumble.
(Y/N) and Loki sat forward in interest. (Y/N) was rooting for Thor to stick it to Grandmaster and his champion. Grandmaster stood up in worry.
Thor stood, and he gazed at his arms as lightning rippled through him. He faced Hulk as the green man stood and growled. The two ran at each other, one a mounting of green muscle, the other and streak of pure light. They jumped into the air, and Thor hit Hulk in the face. An explosion of electricity flooded from the impact. Thunder clapped at the strike.
Silence. And then…
“Thun-der! Thun-der! Thun-der!” The crowd had found a new favorite. “Thun-der! Thun-der! Thun-der!” The chanting grew louder and louder into a deafening roar.
Hulk stood, but Thor was already advancing, still thrumming with power. And then Thor froze as the disk in his neck dug in with a shockwave. He collapsed to the side.
(Y/N)’s eyes narrowed, and her head snapped to Grandmaster. He held a baton in his hand. He had activated Thor’s implant to avoid his champion being defeated.
“I’m done with this,” said (Y/N), standing up. She hated people abusing their power. She turned on her heel and left the room, not caring if Loki or Grandmaster could see her.

WK: 4070 - Long fic ahead!
——————————————————————————
Asgard is known to hold some of the greatest theatre plays in all the nine realms, Midgard being their current competitor in the industry. Nonetheless, you never stopped your passion to be an actor. So when your agent contacted you about a role in an Asgardian performance, you couldn’t pass this opportunity.
Loki, Prince of Asgard, too shared this passion in the art of acting and theatre. Performing since he was just a child, his talented ability to capture audiences and his co-stars never failed, making him a world or shall I say, realm class celebrity.
Thus on the first Monday of rehearsals, you had met not only your idol but your partner in the lead role.
“H-Hi! My name is Y/N…I’m from M-Midgard and h-honestly, all this still s-seems unreal to me…b-ut! It’s an honour to meet you Mr. Laufeyson!” For as awkward as the first meeting was, Loki chuckled at your response and shook your hand.
“Well it is lovely to meet you Y/N, and please, please! Call me Loki” His eyes seemingly piercing your own. God he knew you were gorgeous on the stage, but seeing you in person and this up close? you were the most incredible being he’s ever met
Your mind was running laps as you shook his hand. Loki Laufeyson was your co-star. You were performing on Asgard. This is a dream come true!
“Ok then! Loki…I look forward to these next couple months working alongside you. I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about the Prince of Asgard and the talent he brings to the stage…And I might be coming off too strong here but I am a bit of a fangirl myself when it comes to your work”
“Really now?! Well I could only thank you for watching my work, I truly love all this and just hope to bring my best foot onstage” Loki was grinning like an idiot, keeping his composure as you two conversed
“And you hit the spot every time! Your take on some Midgardian performances left me speechless! The Asgaridan version of Hamilton was one I didn’t expect much from and yet it delivered perfectly!” Loki couldn’t hold back his laughter and smiles as you praised his work. He found himself blushing a little at your words, dazzled by the praise you were feeding him.
“You are truly too kind darling, I’m just glad to bring some of Midgaridan works here to Asgard, the theatre Midgard has is more my style as compared to what majority of Asgardians like…gods this is why this play is a big leap for us, but I have seen your works in the romance side and I am certain we can execute this perfectly”
Your eyes lit up as he said this…Loki has seen your work?! More specifically your romantic trope stories?! You were speechless
“You have?! Wow! I am…You have no idea how much that means to me! I have to admit that this sounds like an ego boost but I do consider them my best performances”
“Nothing wrong about being proud of your best works and darling you put on quite a show! Most shows here on Asgard are focused around war, politics, kingdoms and royalty so a little romance here and there surely brings out the humanity in me”
You had smiled as his response, and you two continued on with your conversation, getting to know one another and the passion you shared for theatre. As the day went on, you both went over your lines, practicing the timing, the emotion, delivery and much more. It was obvious to you both that It’s as if these roles were made for you both. A forbidden love story between god and woman, both finding their own ways in this world together, all the while they were ridiculed by the universe. You loved your role, you loved your co-stars, you loved sharing the stage alongside the talented man himself Loki Laufeyson. Life on the stage is one you wouldn’t trade for anything…
Although…while you shined on the stage, it would be idiotic to not admit that the magic you felt onstage did not translate to your real life.
“That’s a wrap for today! I will see you all on Wednesday!” Just like that the day was over and you had to part ways with everyone.
Packing up your belongings, you could hear footsteps approaching and upon turning your back you were met with Loki
“Hey Y/N! It was great working with you today and I must admit you truly have talent like no other”
You blushed at his comment and shot him a quick “Thanks” and “You too”
“You going straight home?”
“Uhm Yea? I have to get dinner started and all” You replied, packing the last of your stuff up.
“Oh…I see I see…Well I was actually wond-”
“Y/N Are you still fucking in there?!” A voice boomed through the room
Your eyes went wide and you quickly swung your bag behind your back “I-Im sorry Loki but I really have to go…”
“I-Uhm yea okay…I just really wanted to ask if-”
Suddenly you saw your boyfriend walk in, clearly angry at something. Loki’s eyes immediately shot at his direction as he watched this angry and slightly intoxicated man burst inside and you running to him an small panic
“Honey! James, I told you that I was working late today! Why are you even here?!”
“Honey? James?” Loki felt both confused and sad.
“No?! You said you’d be done by 4! That’s why i’m here…what? My girlfriend doesn’t come home to the time she said she was and you expect me to not be pissed?!”
“Honey what are you even talking about?! I never said I was off at 4! I even texted you I’d be home by 7!”
“You’re a liar!” James shouted and you quickly shushed him as to not attract any attention
Loki stared at you two. First he felt sad and quite disappointed to find out you had a boyfriend…he’s never fallen for anyone this quickly but something about sharing the stage with him and the passion you both shared brought out this lovey dovey feeling he had deep down inside. And with this being the first of many meetings, he knew he was bound to fall for you further. Second he felt rage towards your pathetic boyfriend, the cursing?! the shouting?! his intoxicated rage towards you?! and the attempt at manipulation was just below pathetic. Loki despises assholes like him, but of course he couldn’t do much about it.
“You’re calling me the liar?! Check your phone! I texted you!” You whispered shouted as you smelled the alcohol reeking from him
“God James are you seriously drunk as well?! You’ve been drinking too much lately”
He scrambled for his phone and saw the text you sent, grumbling to himself, he hissed an looked at you “Whatever I didn’t read it so its still on you! And i’m sorry? Does my drinking pose a problem with you? You’re barley home anyways, out here performing and shit. God I thought this was just some hobby or some shit”
“James?! Are you serious right now?! For the hundredth time…this is my life! my passion! Don’t you dare try to say its just some hobby!”
“Seriously Y/N?! It is! I mean look at this! Its a fake production of a fake story with real people just projecting a fantasy! its pure bullshit!”
You grumbled in frustration “You know what if you seriously have a problem with it why are you even here with me? Why did you come to Asgard huh?! Why!”
Loki knew he wasn’t supposed to be listening, but he couldn’t help himself as you were both arguing quite loudly. He wanted to destroy that pathetic man
“To protect you of course! And…ugh are you really going to make me say it?
“What?!”
“Ok i know its all bullshit but your work is the exception because its you! and UGH yes its bullshit but you blow my mind away sometimes…and you NEED me to protect you…I dont know who might steal your heart here on Asgard?”
“…mhm mhm…Ok can we just go home please?” You asked feeling both hurt but ok at best
“Yes we can go” James said and grabbed you harshly to the exit
You turned at Loki and waved a quick goodbye and mouthed “Im sorry” and walked away…Loki was beyond furious that poor excuse of a man could treat you that way. Calling theatre and acting bullshit?! Bringing your passions down?! Grabbing you in that manner? God it revolted him. You deserved better…so much better, but alas it wasn’t any of Loki’s business nor could he do anything much about it.
Loki never questioned you about that day, seeing as it was something quite personal to share, but he did ask you if you had a boyfriend and how long you two were together. He wasn’t quite happy to hear you’ve had to deal with this man for 2 years now. James would show up to pick you up after every session, either drunk, pissed, in no mood at all, or just being annoyed but he sweet talked his way to make you go home with him each time…even though, deep down inside it was like you were drowning, there were parts of you that were screaming to leave him but you just couldn’t, he was all you had. The most you could do is fantasies and take the small wins, even though you craved more, even though your soul craved better…Oh the guilt you felt when you saw Loki interacting with another co-start…you wished it was you…but- wait, why the hell am i even thinking that?! I have a boyfriend for god sakes! and Loki is just my co-star! Stop it Y/N.
The weeks went on and you and Loki continued to work together onstage. Offstage the both of you got to know one another better and because of this the more he fell for you, for someone he couldn’t be with. He was amazed by you. By your passion, your personality, your kindness…everything…and he knows better than to fall for his co-star but you were the breaker to his rule.
He couldn’t put into words just how amazing you are. Like a blast of energy that you couldn’t contain, just filled with so much drive, passion and life and he hated to admit that this became a small factor to motivate him everyday. To see you, to talk to you, gosh it was like he was a teenager again, eager to see his crush at school, but this was much different.
Although this one week, when you came in for the day, Loki had greeted you as usual, asking how things were or how you were liking Asgard and you gave a half-hearted reply, brushing him off almost entirely and you sat in the corner of the room, going over your lines on your own. Odd behaviour that Loki wasn’t used to and he was split between asking if you were ok or to leave it as is. This didn’t affect your performance onstage but it affected Loki. He didn’t like seeing you this way, and when James came in to pick you up that day, he made sure to stick with you as you both waited. That same week you came in looking worse and Loki decided to finally ask what was wrong, but you shot him down, not really wanting to talk about the horrible comments James had thrown at you last night about you, your career, your cooking or the fact he even threw the glass vase at your wall, sending glass flying and cutting your arm, though that was a scar you could hide. Loki didn’t push you on it anymore but he did request if they could finish earlier today.
“I think we should end a little early today seeing as you all have been working hard these past couple weeks. See you all on Friday!”
You were surprised to finish early today, but I guess it meant you had more time working on dinner. So you packed up and got ready to leave when Loki stopped you
“Y/N…I was wondering if maybe you’d like a cup of coffee before you go home for the day seeing as we finished earlier than usual”
“I uh..hmm” You thought about it, go home to James and cook earlier…or go with coffee with Loki…After last night you needed a break
“Ah why the hell not…coffee and….macaroons?” You asked in hopes to try of Asgardian pastries
“Coffee and macaroons it is! I know a great place near here, ran by a good family friend of mine, im sure you’ll like it”
“Can’t wait to try it” You smiled and let Loki lead the way to this mystery cafe.
Upon reaching the place, you were greeted to a busy yet lively scene. Calling this place beautiful would be underselling it.
“I’ll order us both a latte and grab one macaroon of each flavour, how’s that sound?”
“That sounds great” You smiled and reached for your wallet. “I’ll cover half, how much do I owe you?”
Loki’s faced contorted in confusion “W-What? Y/N!” He chuckled “It’s ok I got it! Treat is on me” He smiled
“What?! No no please! I can’t let you pay for all that! Please let me pay half”
“Nonsense this is on me, that’s final” Loki smiled “Its okay I promise, you deserve a treat, well I guess we do after the work these past weeks”
You sigh and accept his offer “Ok well…Thank you, you are too kind Loki…But next time we get a treat it’ll be on me ok?”
Next time. Ah so there would be a next time. Loki grinned at the thought…although reality snapped him back when he remembered your boyfriend “Hmmm, I would still treat you next time…but if you insist, next time you’ll treat us”
You nodded and Loki went and got the coffee and macaroons.
He came back with your treats and…they were the best damn macaroons you’ve had in your life
“Holy shit these are delicious! There has to be actual magic in these…amazing! amazing!”
Loki watched as you ate the sweet treats “Told you I knew a place and if you must know, they don’t have magic, just made with love”
You laughed “Ah yes…Love! Ok but seriously I need to bring a tray of these when I go back to Midgard, just one big tray of em all for me”
“You know I could do that for you? Perhaps we can share…if you are willing”
“Share?! Never! the imaginary tray of macaroons is mine only hehe” You smiled “okay maybe you can have one”
“Just one?!” Loki said in a dramatic tone “So you get a whole tray and I get one?!”
“Yes! One!” You laughed “I’’m so kind I know”
“Sure…sooooo kind! Y/N gives Loki ONE macaroon!” He teased…He wished you could both stay like this forever
As you were both enjoying each other company and the nature around you, James had spotted you as he was too on a coffee run and approached you both
“Y/N?! The hell you doing here?! I thought you were at work?!”
“Oh! H-Honey we just finished early today and L-Loki here invited me for some coffee and macaroons…I hope that’s alright by you”
“You should have told me first…or why didn’t you go home and start with dinner?”
“I uh…i’m sorry it slipped my mind and I was t-thinking…we could just…take out some dinner?”
“Y/N you’re better than this! I need to know where you are…and yea whatever we can get dinner out”
Loki sat there feeling awkward and so quickly cut the silence by introducing himself “Hi I am uh Loki…co-stars with Y/N…she’s told me about you James…uh nice to meet you”
Confused by this, James hesitantly shook his hand “Uh nice to meet you Loki…i guess…So what has Y/N said about me?”
“Uh…you both have been dating 2 years…and..yea..” Loki replied awkwardly
You watched James expression and you knew having these two meet was a horrible idea…but not much you can do now.
The two continued their VERY awkward conversation and soon James pulled you up and demanded you both went home
“Uhm…See you on Friday Loki” You say as James dragged you off
“Uh See you…” Loki was fuming…
Friday came around and one again your demeanour had shifted. You were shut off, closed, awkward and of course Loki noticed this. This wasn’t the real you, the you he had coffee and macaroons with…he was worried…he knew you deserved better, he knew he could treat you 100 times better. God he wished he could be yours…he would love you so much more than any other being. The day went so-so and Loki had waved you goodbye…all he looked forward to was the next week in which he could see you again…
So when you unexpectedly did not turn up the following week for practice, he was sad, but from his sadness quickly grew concern after seeing the nature of your boyfriend and how he treated you. He couldn’t focus the entire day, worried about what happened to you or if you were ok. Once the day was over, he quickly rushed to the nearest restaurant and bought some takeout for you to have, in case you had just come down with some sort of flu.
Approaching your temporary living space he immediately heard screaming from none other than James. Loki dropped the food at the doorstep and peaked through the window. He could only see James’s face as your back was facing the window. Loki couldn’t grasp the focus of the argument as James was mainly throwing horrible insults at you
“You bitch are you serious?! Why do you alway lie to me? After all I have done for you?! For us to get here!”
“James…its called ACTING! do i have to explain myself all the damn time?! And you better stop calling me a liar, I told you about the play, about the theme, about the scenes…and It’s fine its just acting…”
“Are you being fucking for real?! Are you serious now Y/N?! You expect me to believe that you’re telling the truth right now?! That these so called scenes weren’t just written in after you said yes to this?! God why couldn’t they just cast a single woman? Not someone with a boyfriend?!”
“BECAUSE JAMES IT WAS OFFERED TO ME! Because I have talent! I have passion! I am a performer, have been all my life! Sorry they casted me! Sorry they casted a woman in a relationship but its not like I can do anything about it?! Nothing is ever enough in your eyes and I don’t even know why I care for your opinion!”
“YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO CARE I AM YOUR BOYFRIEND AND I AM NOT LETTING YOU GO WITH THIS PROJECT ANY FURTHER”
“WHAT NO?! you cant control my life like that asshole?!”
“THE FUCK DID YOU JUST CALL ME??? Y/N I DONT CONTROL YOUR LIFE BUT IM SURE AS HELL GONNA STOP YOU FROM ALL THE STUPIDITY YOUR DOING” James approached you, backing you up against the wall
“James! JAMES! STOP IT” He raised his hand over you
Loki’s eyes shot wide, accidentally knocking on the window and immediately James’s attention went to the window “HEY WHO THE HELL IS THERE?!” Loki scrammed immediately, leaving you and James to your own business.
After that incident he knew he has to something about it, he wasn’t going to watch as you get hurt by that horrible man.
You came in for the next practice session…with James which threw off everyone but instead of greeting your cast mates or even Loki, you darted straight to the hair and makeup station. Loki saw you zoom by and immediately tried to catch up with you, which only increased your walking speed, practically jogging at this point. James locked the door to the station and you ignored Loki completely. Passing conversations can be heard from you both…although Loki no longer cared, he was worried for you, he couldn’t stand the thought of what your bastard of a boyfriend could have done to you and so he forced himself in.
“Loki?! What the hell you broke the lock!” You say in shock with James sharing the same reaction as you
“I know but I can’t stand this anymore!” He marched towards you and went to grab your shoulders in an attempt for a hug, causing you to flinch and move back. Thrown off, Loki looked at you confused and “Y/N your face…” Loki got a real good look at the bruise on your arm, cheek, and neck…
Loki looked at you, then at James, and clicked.
“YOU BASTARD!” Loki launched at James
“HEY! HEY! HEY!” James shouted, blocking Loki’s hands and body
“What the hell did you do asshole? You did that? YOU hurt her?!” Loki managed to push past James’s block and locked his godly hands and arms onto his shoulder, gripping on so tight it caused your boyfriend to flinch and squirm in pain
“Hey man let me-”
”NO!” Using his magic, Loki blasted James against the wall, causing his body to shake as he fell to the ground “The hell is wrong with you?!” he screamed
“ME?! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?!” Loki approached him and placed his foot on his chest, letting his entire body weight shift to his foot.
“Ow! Jeez!”
“You know I don’t care who you are, I don’t care that you’re dating Y/N, you pathetic little man I will ruin your life for touching her, I will end your stupid, worthless, pathetic little existence for what you did to her! You understand me?! There is a special place in Hel for assholes like you! Bastards that think hitting, cursing and treating their partners like shit is even ok!”
“Loki stop it!” You shouted
He ignored you and grabbed James’s face “You ever come back here, you ever even think about seeing her again, or so help me god even think about laying another finger on her, I will snap your body like a twig and make sure you suffer a long…painful…demise” he growled
You saw all this happening and while you were terrified, part of you felt relief…it was over…it was finally over….right?
James struggled against Loki’s grasp, Loki looked like he was actually going to end him
“Loki look at me!” you shouted
He immediately did and saw your eyes, he saw that as much as James was an asshole…you didn’t want Loki to actually kill him
Loki looked back at James and let him go “This is your only chance to go…SCRAM”
And just like that James ran out, leaving your life for good
You and Loki stood there in awkward silence
…
“Loki?” You whispered
He immediately looked at you “Y/N!” He ran towards you, about to bring you to an embrace but remembering you were probably not comfortable at the moment “Are you ok…?”
“Not…really…but better” You admitted “Thank you…” You smiled at him.
“Of course…I-I couldn’t go on just working with you knowing or not knowing what was happening…I’m just glad you don’t have to deal with that asshole anymore…right?”
“Yea…its over…after yesterday…I knew we were through, I just didn’t know how to end it…so thank you…so so so much…You’ve done more for me than most people have about all this…” You hugged him as tears fell from your eyes
He hugged you back carefully as to not startle you “I love you to much to see you like this” Loki blurted. Uh shit?! Not the time?!
“You love me?” You pulled away and asked
Loki went red at your question “I-I Uh…yea? I do…I do love you…look I know were just co-stars and hell you just went through such a shitty thing and this is the worst way to say it but yes I love you…a lot” he fumbled at his words
You smiled at him “Despite everything…and I wont lie… but I love you too”
You both embraced each other as you felt the safety of his love and his arms

Chapter 14 |
Chapter 15: Forget Me Not
TW: some awkwardness, confusing visions, Daniel makes an appearance, mentions of major character death and spoilers for the comics, a bit of Dark!Munin, The Fates, some intense memories and mentions of violence, pain, and allusions to assault, a bit of trickster god energy (I'm not super familiar with Puck and Loki from the comics, so please don't crucify me if they're not great!), threats, some cryptic shit from Destiny, a pretty big revelation, and finally, some soft fluffy goodness to give our story a happy end before the rewrite.
I really struggled with this last chapter! 😅 I think because I already know I'm going to rewrite it the words just didn't wanna cooperate with me and I'm overall not super thrilled with how it came out. I do really hope y'all still enjoy it and are looking forward to getting the rewrite whenever I have the time to get that going. Thank you all so much for your love, support and patience with this series!
Awkward felt like an inadequate word to describe the stiff silence that now consumed Hector's home. You quietly took a sip of your drink, eyes darting back and forth between the two men as they stared one another down across the living room. You’d quietly hoped that the two would use this time to let go of the strenuous circumstances they’d previously met under.
Hector finally leaned back and spoke, “Make any pregnant women cry today?”
Or not…
Dream’s face tensed slightly, but his voice was steady as he replied, “No.”
“You could’ve given us a minute to say a proper goodbye, you know,” Hector insisted with a sneer. “She had to go through so much all alone… we didn’t even get a chance to talk about baby names. I don’t… I don’t even know how they’re doing.”
This made Morpheus soften, and for a moment, you wondered if he was thinking about his own son, that had been long lost to him. “Daniel. Your son's name is Daniel, and he is doing well. I’ve had my raven check in with them on occasion.”
Your friend smiled and looked out toward the trees. “Daniel. What about Lyta?”
“She’s been more…” Morpheus chose his word carefully. “Restless as of late. A just reaction, I suppose, after learning all she has.”
“Couldn’t you help her with that?” Hector asked. “Isn’t that your job or something?”
“I could, but she does not wish for my help.”
“Sounds like her,” his smile was soft and sad but filled with a restfulness you’d not seen in him for a long while. “Lyta was always the stubborn one between us.”
Morpheus glanced at you, an invisible smirk plain to your eyes. “A struggle I understand too well, spirit.”
Your eyes narrowed. “Are you calling me stubborn?”
“I said no such thing,” he insisted with a wicked gleam in his eyes that answered the question for him.
Turning your head away, you smiled at Hector. “Apologies for bringing up such painful memories. It was not my intent, my friend.”
He shook his head and waved your concern away. “It wasn’t so bad.”
Morpheus allowed the man to show him the home he’d built, taking in details he’d missed the first time in his haste, and, you thought, the two seemed less at odds with one another by the time you departed. Your beloved remained as long as he could, spending time with you to tell the children stories while you held Sirius and got lost in the sound of his silken voice. A loud screech and a string of curses echoed from the wood, bringing you and the Dream Lord to your feet, shielding as many ears as you could reach from the vile things being shouted.
The Corinthian stumbled out of the woods with Kat hot on his heels, talons bared and clawing at him with every swoop. Her feathers were ruffled, and the noises she made were ones you’d never heard before. “Kat!”
She heeded your voice, halting her attack on the nightmare to settle on a branch beside you. The Corinthian shook his clothes off, looking at the deep tear in his suit. “Your beast owes me a new suit!”
Kat’s eyes burned. “The only thing I owe you is a slow and painful death, nightmare.”
“What is the meaning of this?” You demanded as Morpheus distracted the children.
“Is this not the nightmare that betrayed you, my lady?”
“It is,” you answered honestly. “But he has been remade now. He will not hurt me again.”
“Once is more than enough,” She bit back. “This was something you knew once.”
Your eyes narrowed, and you tilted your head at her words. “What do you mean by this?”
Kat shook out her feathers. “Nothing, my lady. If you say the nightmare means no harm, then I shall trust you.”
“Thank you, Kat,” you answered, her words still rattling around your mind, but the golden owl took to the skies before you could question her further.
The Corinthian bared his teeth at the shredded suit jacket. “Daunty, love the new realm and all, but you gotta get a tighter handle on your greeters.”
Rolling your eyes, you shook your head at him. “Relax. I’m sure your maker would happily repair your suit if you asked nicely.”
He scoffed. “I’d rather live with the tears.”
“Stubborn.”
“Always,” he replied with a grin. “So, you gonna give me the tour, or are you too busy for little nightmares now?”
Linking your arm with his, you smiled at Morpheus, who continued telling the children stories beside the fountain. “I always have time for you, dear Corinthian.”
*
It had been a few days since you’d spoken with Hector, but the sad look in his eyes when he’d mentioned not being able to see his son had stuck with you. You approached the young tree with a gentle touch and kind gaze upon the face carved into the trunk. Hector's son was still quite young, and his tree of memory reflected such. It was smaller than his mother's that stood beside it, but the roots were strong and ran far deeper than any mortal. Daniel, you quickly realized, was special. Different. Like you.
The face seemed to stare back at you, white leaves peeking out from beneath the lush green canopy. You approached slower, urging the roots to lift and open the young one's mind to you. His memories would be few, but there was no doubt much you could learn within them. Veins of white stood out in the darkness. Some roots, the ones that borrowed deeper, were pale and sung with power and immortality. The song of The Endless. But, the tune wasn't Dreams, or Deaths, or Desires. It was its own song, still unfinished.
You walked through the light, lush still forming along the walls of his memory, focusing on the memories he found joyful. You intended to share them with Hector, a gift to show your gratitude for his hard work and kindness. That, however, was not where the tree led you.
Stumbling into the blinking light, you found yourself kneeling in deep sand. Sand scratched your palms, sticking to you like sap, just as it had the first time. Except now that sand, once a deep void of black, was white. It sparked like tiny perfect crystals in your palms as you stood and looked out at the miles of glistening sand and bright cerulean waves.
You knew this beach better than any save its creator. You knew the placement of each stone and the feeling of the sand as it molded to your steps. This place felt different… All at once, the beach you knew and not. It was old and new and entirely confusing.
The fragile ground beneath your feet seemed to remember you as you walked toward where the Gates of Horn and Ivory should have been. The sand didn't swallow your feet or try to slow your steps. It felt as though you were walking on nothing at all. Before your eyes, the entrance stood, an entrance that was not the gates you knew at all.
Glossy white marble caught the light and cast an ethereal glow all around you. An aura of both light and color, beautiful and bright. The gates stood open, revealing a sight you'd grown to know well. "The Dreaming."
As you passed through, you admired the fine craftsmanship of the carvings in the marble gates. A story familiar and also not… Something that had not yet been told. Familiar things were more abundant here as you walked through the town and admired the dreamers. Dreams and Nightmares, old and new, greeted you like a friend and wished you good fortune as you made your way to the palace.
The regal and beautiful palace of The Dream Lord was quite similar to the one you’d known. Only some small changes in the stone and the statues caught your eyes, but as the doors opened to the throne room, a wave of unfamiliarity washed over you at the sight. The white marble of Dream’s palace was pristine in every sense of the word, reflecting the array of light and color that swirled around the room, drawing your gaze to the tiny crystals that hung in the air like drops of frozen rain. It was beautiful, marvelous, but not what you knew to be.
The stairway leading to the throne was wrong as well, far more winding and long, a path of almost transparent crystal. The stained glass windows above the throne shifted to reflect you, a perfect vision of white mist and black dogs and golden leaves. It was as if The Dreaming was trying to welcome you… trying to lull you into a feeling of peace or comfort at all that was not as it should be. And there, in the place of the throne, you knew Morpheus to have was something entirely not his. It looked far more organic, like a split geode holding an uncontainable cosmos of stars and cosmic clouds inside it. And sitting on that throne was a being that was not Dream of The Endless. Not your Dream.
The pale being lifted his head, and not a single strand of his cloudy white hair strayed. His black eyes consumed you entirely, two small slivers of starlight shining brighter as they looked upon you. The robes he wore were white, adorned with golden designs, and there, sitting proudly upon his chest, was a glowing emerald dreamstone.
“It is a great honor to meet you at last, Munin of the Emerald Wood.” His voice was silken and light, Dream’s but not his.
“You are not my Dream… are you?” You asked with tears building in your eyes.
With a soft sigh, he rose from his throne slowly, almost as if he thought doing so any faster would scare you. “No, I suppose I am not.”
You didn’t dare look away from him as you asked, “Then who are you?”
“The name you would likely know me by is Daniel. Daniel Hall.”
Lies. “Daniel Hall is little more than a child. You could not possibly be him.”
“Not as you know him to be,” he said, slowly descending the winding staircase. “But, as you’ve already noticed, none of this is as it was. A future carved in stone, written in Destiny’s book of things, a future only you can stop.”
“Future?” You questioned, looking around at The Dreaming. “You mean to tell me I’ve stumbled into the future?”
“No,” Daniel replied with a light chuckle. “More of a vision.”
You watched him carefully as he stood before you, hands clasped and a soft, childlike smile on his lips. “So this is what is to come then? You mean to steal this realm from Morpheus?”
His brows furrowed. “I’ve stolen nothing. The Dreaming and the title Dream of the Endless was given to me by he who came before.”
“Morpheus would never just give his realm or his title away,” you insisted. “Unless…”
“He did all he could to stop it, but The Kindly Ones were relentless in their attack. His sacrifice saved The Dreaming and those that remained.” Daniel could see the pain in you, and with a sigh, he added. “He did not suffer. Death greeted him and showed him the way. He was at peace in the end.”
You shook your head, tears rolling down your cheeks. “And what of me? I did nothing while he perished?”
“There were… things complicating your involvement.” He shook his head. “It matters not. You are here now.”
“You’ve been expecting me?”
He smiled, chuckling softly. “No, more… hoping you would find a way here so we could speak.”
“Speak of what?”
"If the love you bare him is even a fraction of the love that lingers in me still…" he lifted a hand to your cheek. "Love he bore for you. Then you'll save him. You’ll ensure this future never has to be.”
With narrow eyes, you asked, “You would give up his power… his title, and his kingdom?”
Daniel nodded. “All I ever wished for was a normal life with my mother. Plots larger than me… Larger than him made that impossible. But you, you could change it.”
“How?”
“Seek out Loki and Puck. The end of your Dream Lord began with their plot and… my mother’s misguided actions.”
Loki and Puck - two tricksters that you’d only met in passing. Gods that were notoriously difficult to track down. “And how do you suggest I find them? They’re not known for making such easy.”
“Visit my mother,” he urged. “And myself, I suppose…” he chuckled again. “The two should be close by.”
You paused, listening to the faint sounds of The Forest calling you home. “What happens if I fail?”
Daniel only smiled, reaching out to lift your hand to his lips. “Then I hope this is not the last time we meet, Lady Munin. And that the next is under better circumstances.”
*
Lyta Hall lived in a modest apartment in a bustling city. Though you’d ventured into the mortal world before, it looked vastly different from what little you could remember. She was surrounded by those she loved, Rose Walker and Ged, and many familiar faces - faces you knew from memories alone. And while the apartment wasn’t large or lavish, she appeared to be happy aside from the large bags that hung beneath her eyes, telling you she’d not found any peace in her dreams.
For a while, you simply watched them, searching for some sigh of Loki and Puck’s coming mischief, but the longer you looked in, the more you felt compelled to venture closer. You wanted to speak with her, to reassure her that her husband was safe and loved. And so you found yourself in her apartment, standing in the kitchen and admiring the little notes, photographs, and memories each held. Lost in your own examining, you barely heard the sharp gasp and the sound of wood scraping against the floor as Lyta hurriedly rose from the table at the sight of you.
Suddenly you were reminded that it was not normal for people to appear in mortal homes simply, and you bashfully bowed your head to her. “Apologies. I did not mean to startle you.”
“Who are you?” She demanded, forcing her voice to sound firm and dangerous.
“We have met before,” you answered softly. “In a dream.”
Her face softened slightly. “You… you’re the one that took Hector.”
Nodding, you answered the question she had not asked. “He is safe. He misses you,” your eyes drifted to the small child in his high chair. “Both of you.”
“What do you want?” She demanded, wiping her eyes.
“I simply wanted to apologize for my coldness that day. I was… I was not myself.” You sighed. “Were it within my power, I would have let him remain with you.”
“But it isn’t,” she answered bitterly. “It’s his power, isn’t it?”
You realized Morpheus was the he that she spoke so sourly of. “It was out of his power as well. The Dream Lord means you no harm, Lyta. This is why you’ve not slept, isn’t it?
Lyta looked at Daniel and shook her head. “I don’t want him to come for my son… not while I’m under some spell and can’t defend him.”
“Dream of the Endless would not steal your son,” you said gently. “He means neither of you harm.”
“You don’t know that,” she replied bitterly.
“I do,” you assured her. As you watched her move to the child's side, you felt an odd power humming around her. The song of the Endless echoed from the boy, swirling around her, but beneath his song was power. A power that you knew. Lyta and Daniel froze, time halting as mist rolled in from unseen places, and their power engulfed the apartment.
"You are meddling in dangerous things, lost one." Their combined voices sent a chill up your spine, but not one of fear or anger… A feeling of familiarity.
The Mother tutted softly as she moved around the frozen figure of Lyta Hall. "Fate is not something easily changed, dear sun."
The Crone lifted her head, glaring at the babe in Lyta's arms. "And this fate is one you should not even attempt to alter."
"I won't let you do it," your voice was cold as mist rushed beneath your feet. The Forest bled into this illusion they thrust you in, dark, twisted trees casting long shadows over the three. Black engulfed your fingertips, and you could feel the darkness, the daunting power of it bending to your will. "Morpheus is mine. And none shall have him while I draw breath."
The Maiden tilted her head, eyes shining back at you in admiration. "You always were so determined."
"So headstrong and unafraid," The Mother continued, her eyes bearing a deep sorrow that surprised you.
"It is what led you to your doom the first time." Though The Crone's eyes were stiff, guarded, and unwilling to bend beneath your steady gaze, her voice trembled, lips quivering as she uttered a single word. "Mneme."
All at once the darkness vanished. You felt your power stripped away, leaving you trembling and bare before The Fates. Breathlessly you fell to your knees. Sparks of golden light and a searing, unbearable pain engulfed you until all you could do was scream.
Not a word. Flashes filled your vision, swarming like molten gold in water. A name. Fire blazed, and a burst of sickening laughter echoed in your mind. Your name.
Their hands offered you some comfort, albeit temporary. The Mother smoothed your hair back. "Do not fight it."
The Maiden stroked your cheeks. "Let it come."
The Crone looked down at you with tears in her eyes. Her palm pressed to your forehead. "Remember."
*
The first thing you saw once the blinking light faded from your vision was the orange hues of the sun setting over the ocean. You sat upon the edge of the cliffside, wind combing through your golden locks of hair, and a peaceful feeling settled in your chest. You were home.
"Mneme!" The Fates’ voices called out as one.
Turning your head, you smiled at them. "Not too close to the edge, I know!"
The Maiden offered you a smile back. "The fall would be terrible indeed, even for one such as you."
The Mother waved, gesturing to you to come to them. "Come down from there, sweet child!"
The Crone rolled her ancient eyes and scoffed. "She won't fall! Our Mneme is far too surefooted to do something as foolish as that."
"Accidents still happen, sister self." The Mother reminded.
You squeezed her hand. "I'll be more careful."
"More careful!" The Crone laughed. "She's been careful since the day she was born, I doubt she's capable or more."
The Maiden lovingly braided a strand of your hair. "There's no harm in having fun every now and then."
The sky above had begun to shift to the deep star-filled night, your favorite. "I have to go."
"Back to that tree of yours?" The Crone asked.
"Back to the humans?" The Mother's question was far more bitter.
You kissed all their cheeks. "I'll be home before the sun rises!"
More light flashed, more voices echoed in your mind as your body felt like it would burst apart. You saw it through the slightly golden haze. The Great Tree standing tall amidst a bustling village. Its trunk was a rich reddish brown with golden leaves glistening in the low light of the fires the humans had lit to illuminate their festivities.
In the blink of an eye, you were in the tall branches, looking down at the bodies that moved below, watching the humans with wonder. You and the tree had been linked from the moment of your birth. A tree with roots that spanned across realms and lifetimes and a little spirit born of fate and memory.
A rather simple pair when compared to the billions of other supernatural and immortal beings and creatures that existed. But, you were fine with simple. You enjoyed your time spent on Mount Helicon and watching the humans, quietly gifting them with long memories and thus making their marvelous stories last forever.
It had been centuries since you'd heard the lovely tune for the first time. The first song ever made. A simple and beautiful thing that planted a seed deep inside you. A longing for something real… Tangible… Something wholly yours. You had no idea what it would be, this thing, but some nights you could hear The Fates whispering. They must've known. There was little they did not see. So, you waited, hoping that it was something marvelous.
The memories raced by, quicker and more painful than before. You could feel the raw ache in your throat, a result of your screaming, but you could only hear the voices. It was all still fragmented, flashes of a happy life with The Fates that all shifted… The sour smell of decay stung your nose. These flashes were darker, the fragments blurry and hazed.
You felt fire cracking under your skin, nails clawing at the wrong flesh that caged you. A laugh… A wide and villainous grin letting down at you. Unfamiliar hands touching you… Defiling you… The human's bright beauty slowly diminishing before your very eyes. You could taste the salt of your tears and feel the ache in your knees as you bent to the floor and begged. "Harken to me!" Your voice sounded so broken… Desperate. "Please, I beg of you! Deliver me from this place!"
The gentle hands that touched your head bore a somber tinge that answered the question you did not even ask. "Enough, dear one."
"You should rest," The Maiden said.
"You will need it for what is to come," The Crone finished.
"Help me," you begged them, lifting your drowning eyes. "There must be something you can do… Someone to intercede on my behalf."
The Crone's eyes turned cold as she sighed. "Foolish child. You are awfully bound. There are none that can deliver you from this place."
The Mother's eyes were filled with tears. "Not now, at least…"
The Maiden braided a strand of your dull hair. "Not when so much of you has been spent."
"I am so sorry, dear one…" The Mother pressed a kiss to your head. "Your prayers were wasted."
"No!" You cried out, rising to reach for them, but they were already gone. The chain binding you to this place scratched against the stone floor. "Do not leave me…"
The pieces fragmented further. Shattering like glass when you tried to hold onto them. All you could truly recall was a knife, blood, screaming, and fire. Darkness that felt warm and safer than what you'd known for so long and then breathlessness. You could see a rippling surface, bubbles floating away from you as the air abandoned you.
As you sank deeper into an unknown abyss, you could see the golden strands of your hair fade to white, and a voice echoed in your mind as all else began to fade away. "You will never be rid of me!"
*
"Mneme," The Maiden's voice called out to you.
"Stop," you begged, voice raw and hardly understandable. This wasn't true… This was a trick. All of it. Their hands, cradling your head, felt too heavy. "Don't call me that."
“Mneme…” The Mother cooed softly as you shook their hands off you.
“Do not call me that! I… I cannot deal with this now. I… There’s…” You wanted nothing more than to sob, to let the information you’d just regained swallow you whole.
Morpheus needed you. The events Daniel spoke of could still be years away, but you’d not risk it. Especially not now. Forcing your body upright, you looked into the eyes of The Fates. “I am going to change what is written. Morpheus will not perish, least of all at the hands of you.”
The Maiden’s tears were like diamonds upon her cheeks. “We take no pleasure in this.”
Your sound of disbelief caused The Mother to sigh, “Not much pleasure in it.”
“You cannot change this,” The Crone said, cold as ice once again. “Try as you might, what is will be and what will be is.”
“The only one you shall harm is yourself,” The Maiden replied.
"You will spend your power," The Mother warmed. "Spread yourself thin until all you are withers."
"Lost again to Lethe," The Crone finished.
“If anything happens to him… anything at all, it is you that I shall harm. Consequences be damned.”
You didn’t give them the chance to speak again, vanishing from the apartment and from their presence with a mere thought. The world felt both heavier and lighter, and with it, you felt both more powerful and less. Forcing the memories… the past from your mind, you put your plan into motion. It was just as you’d told The Fates. None would have Morpheus.
The meadow was quiet. From what you’d seen of the human world, there were few places like this that remained. Calm and untouched, reeking of old fairy magic and buzzing with godly power. Two tricksters lurking in the shadows. The combination of their power was dizzying and stunk of mischief. A warning to any that drew too near to turn back and hope you’d not caught their eye. You, however, would not be so easily deterred.
“What have we here?” An old and giggly voice purred from the shadows.
“A little witch?” Another chimed in, smug and prideful and filled with echoing laughter.
You showed no emotion as you addressed them. “I am Munin, Queen of realms of memory.”
A figure appeared a greenish beast with scales and fur and long pointed ears. Sharp teeth gleamed back at you as the deep red eyes of the spirit Puck glowed. “Queeny, Queeny, Queeny… why are you so far from your castle?”
Bright hair and an angular face examined you closely from a safe distance away as Loki grinned back. “Come to play with the old tricksters, have you?”
“More like come to talk sense into you,” you replied calmly, urging the wood around you to slowly shift.
The two laughed loudly, clutching their guts as they looked at each other. “Sense? Oh, we’ve not had sense in ages!”
“So I’ve been told. But, kidnapping a dream-touched child is a new sort of stupidity I thought even you two would be above.”
“Careful now,” Puck growled. “I’d surely hate to have to get blood all over that pretty white dress, Queeny.”
“It would be quite the shame,” you agreed. “Though the dress could be a trophy of sorts stained with your blood.”
Puck giggled, deranged and gleeful. “I like you!”
“Focus,” Loki insisted as he languidly stalked forward to circle you. “What’s this about a kidnapping?”
You followed him for a moment but chose to keep your eyes on Puck; he was the one you’d have to be most mindful of. “Your little plan to kidnap the boy… Daniel Hall.”
“How would you know about that?” Puck questioned.
“I have my ways.” That was the only answer you offered them. “The how is hardly the point. I’m far more interested in skipping it all together so we can focus on the bit where you both use your brains and forget about this half-baked scheme.”
Mist slowly began to seep between the trees, a low groan echoing in the air that signaled your plan had worked. Loki shook his head. “We aren’t exactly known for listening to threats from little girls.”
You smiled. “I’ve not even threatened you yet, Odinson.”
“Do not call me that!” He hissed, pointing a long elegant finger at you.
“I’ll call you whatever name you see fit after you’ve agreed to leave Daniel and his mother alone.”
Puck tutted, clawed nails digging into the branch he leaned on. “Greedy, greedy. You’re getting boring, Queeny! Perhaps we should just be done with you… After all, you look so tasty!”
Sirius dove out of the mist and snapped at the spirit. “Mind your tongue, beast. Though I shall gladly rid you of it should you insist.”
Loki pulled two daggers from their sheathes as The Corinthian appeared somewhere off to the side of you, calm and collected as he casually leaned against a tree. “Naughty puppy!”
Rolling your eyes, you lifted a finger, calling forth the tree roots to bind them. “Enough of this.” The trees wound around their limbs, squeezing hard enough that were they not immortal beings, their limbs would have snapped. Loki sneered while Puck laughed. “It’d be in your best interests to leave the child alone.”
“Best interests,” Puck laughed harder. “I care little for interests.”
“You may not care,” you began, eyes turning to the god. “But he does.”
Loki shook his head, chuckling at the notion that he cared about anything at all. “You think you know me, little wood witch?”
You shook your head and walked along the tree roots. “I do not care to know you, trickster. But, I see more than just your eyes…” Memories swirled inside them, good and bad, joyful and not. “We may not have met more than in passing, but make no mistake, Loki, I know you.”
Puck was the wildcard, the mischievous being that none could reason with or bribe unless he so sought, but Loki was a god. He was shrouded in golden pride and a deep-rooted desire to make Odin love him. Loki was the one you needed to convince. Puck would follow, or he would die, a choice you’d not have to spell out for him, especially with Sirius’ watchful eye and menacing teeth gnashing in the sprite's face.
“Why do you care so much for this runt?” Loki pondered with a wide grin. “Have a soft spot for dream-touched mortals?”
“Why does not concern you.” You sat down on a high-up branch and stared the god down. “No more questions, Loki. Will you leave Lyta and her son alone, or will you die here in my little woods?”
He attempted to shrug against the branches that held him. “It’s not me you need to worry about.”
Puck rolled his eyes. “She doesn’t need to fear me! This game has gotten boooorrrriiinnggg! One little mortal, dream-touched or not, isn’t worth this kind of fuss.”
Loki glared at the sprite, clearly displeased by his so-called partner in crime's words. “Fine then. We’ll leave the kid alone. Happy now?”
“Swear it.”
“I swear it,” he sneered back. “Now let me go.”
You waved your hand, and the roots released. Puck was gone in a blink, no promises made or extra words exchanged. Here then gone, just like you’d expected from the trickster. Loki remained, anger and some ugly, wounded pride shining in his eyes as he glared at you. Sirius growled. “Leave this place, trickster. And pray you never return.”
Suddenly all emotion drained from the god's face, and he laughed. “You know, I don’t much like being humiliated, especially not by insignificant little girls. Do you think you're suddenly untouchable just because you have some new realm and a bit of power? Well, you aren’t.”
Lunging for you, Loki found himself face to face with The Corinthian, who smiled as he brandished his blade. “I believe my lady released you. That means you leave.”
“I’m not scared of you, nightmare!” The god shouted.
“You should be. Hold him down for me, pup.” Sirius surprisingly heeded the nightmares command and pulled the god down while The Corinthian worked with his blade. The screams were drowned out by the trees cheering and laughing at the now mutilated god. You stood high above it all as The Corinthian finished his work and turned, presenting you with the eyes he’d plucked from Loki’s skull. Bowing his head, he chuckled. “Any other body parts I should take, my lady?”
You accepted the eyes and shook your head. “No. Kat has already sent word to Odin. Someone will be here to collect him shortly.”
The Corinthian glanced at you. “You alright, Daunty?”
Your mind was plagued with the past that you’d still not fully regained, a thing you now had broken and confusing fragments of. “Yes. There’s just something I need to do now.”
“Need a nightmare?”
Smiling at him, you shook your head and placed a loving hand on his cheek. “Not this time, dear Corinthian.”
*
Upon Mount Helicon, a secluded cabin stood overlooking the sea. The cabin was not what you’d pictured when you thought of The Fates. You’d imagined they’d live in some large palace or a winding maze, like Destiny, but there the three stood, looking out at the sea as you quietly approached. “Such a lovely sunset.”
The Mother smiled at you. “It used to be your favorite part of the day.”
The Maiden laughed softly. “You’d sit here until the yellow faded from the sky entirely.”
“One sun,” The Crone said. “Watching another.”
"Whatever the reason for this… Fondness, you bear me…" you stopped yourself, pain that you could not yet confront boiling within you like the fires in your vision. Shaking your head, you met their gaze again. "I urge you to cease these schemes against the Dream Lord."
The Maiden nodded, "Painful as this may be, you cannot run from the truth forever."
The Mother took a step closer with a sad smile. "Oh, dear one… Is this truly your wish?"
"It is."
The Crone stood before you, cold eyes slightly less so as she wiped your tears. "Very well. If it is your wish, we shall honor it. So long as Dream of The Endless does not bring harm upon you, then we shall not harm him or his Dreaming."
“Thank you… my mothers.”
The Three smiled sadly and watched you go. The Forest greeted you as it always had, offering you soft handing leaves to dry your eyes and a melodic rumbling to ease the ache in your heart. You did not know when you would be able to accept what you now knew fully, nor did you know if you’d ever be strong enough to remember the full brunt of the pain your past life had lived through, but you did know that The Fates had spoken at least one truth. You would not be able to run from it.
A dark figure emerged from the trees, breathing a sigh of relief at the sight of you. “There you are.”
“Morpheus,” you breathed, the pain easing as air filled your lungs.
His eyes narrowed as he took a step toward you. “Where have you been?” His arms wound around you, pulling you into the embrace you’d fought so hard to preserve. You buried your face into his chest and breathed in his scent. “I’ve been worried.”
With a soft noise, you smiled. “Forgive me, I did not mean to worry you. There were some things I needed to take care of.”
“Is all well?” His breath hitched at the mere thought of something being wrong.
You smoothed your hands down his chest and smiled. “All is well. I… I learned many things these past few days and have many questions that need answering.”
Morpheus nodded, soft hands caressing you. “I trust you will tell me your meaning when you are ready to?”
“Of course,” you answered. “It would be rather cruel of me to keep you in such suspense.”
“Cruel is not a word I’d use to describe you, my love.”
You wanted nothing more than to tell him of all you’d learned and everything that had happened in your time apart, but instead, you simply smiled. “Would you walk with me?”
He seemed to understand the gentle gleam of tears in your eyes and quietly offered you his arm and a kiss upon your head. “Always, my love.”
The two of you walked through the misty forest until you found the cave of crystals and the lake that you’d once danced upon. Without needing to speak any words, he stepped out onto the water and swept you away into a starlit dance. With your head laid against his chest, listening… feeling the steady beating of his heart, you finally spoke, “Do you think we will remain together in whatever existence comes after this?”
“I should think so,” he answered with a soft laugh. “We’ve found one another against impossible odds thus far.”
"Well, if it should come to an end, this immortal coil we find ourselves in..." You pulled away from his chest and gently held his face in your hands. "I should like it to end by your side, that we might turn to stardust together or be bound in the roots of the earth as one. I shall not pass to whatever existence awaits us in The Sunless Lands without you, my dearest Morpheus."
With the software of smiles, he pulled a small thing from his cloak and held it between you. A ring. The stone in the center was an ethereal array of thinking stars with a branch-like band of roots twining around it. He lifted your hand to slide the ring on your finger, kissing it and whispering a soft oath, "I vow that no matter what comes, nothing shall ever part us again. I am yours, Lady of The Forest, Distress, Discourage, Daunt… Munin. In every existence, every realm and lifetime, I am yours."
"Just as I am yours, Prince of Stories. Always."
Beneath the starry skies and amidst the groaning echoes of your realm, you and the Dream Lord shared a kiss, soft and bright and beautiful. For that one moment, the past didn’t matter. Not Daunt or Mneme… you were Munin, and you were here. You were loved. And as you stared into the eyes of your lover, you knew you always would be.

Had to ask based on your recent Evil reblogs, what are your thoughts on Kriland (Kristen x Leland) ? The chemistry is there for some steamy one-shot fun but I don’t see a lot about their dynamic so just wondering your take.
Also really enjoying your Leland x Reader fic, and am excited for the next chapter!! Are any of your works on Ao3?
Thank you for feeding the community with your work ☺️
Okay, so they tooooootally have a lot of chemistry, right? But I don’t necessarily ship them. Will I read oneshots of them? Absolutely. They just work so dang well together! They would have wild hate sex. They make each other worse and I am here for it, but I also love that they’re on opposite sides that have this strange give-and-take thing going on. His appearance in her life changes her for better and for worse—without Leland, she never would have met David and Ben, never would’ve murdered LeRoux, never would’ve cheated on Andy (I truly believe that), but she also wouldn’t really be happy, you know?
Also I am PEEVED and MIFFED and ANGRY that we got that line of, “You’ve been protecting Kristen for the last few years now; you can’t protect her any longer” in the series finale because WHAT DO YOU MEAN, PROTECTING?! Is Leland in love with her?! Is it that he’s just that obsessed with her that he wants to be the one to end her?! Is it because he genuinely believes that she’s the proper mother of the Antichrist and he worships her even as he hates her?! I NEED TO KNOW DAMMIT
Oh no, side note, now I want fics where Leland becomes some sort of weird uncle/godfather/something to the Bouchard kids because he goes from being completely evil to being…not quite evil but not quite good (as implied by the last four episodes) and he keeps encouraging them to do bad things and they have to be like, “No, that’s bad, we can’t do that.” Something akin to Lilo and Stitch. Or Loki and Mobius. I dunno, I think it’d be fricking hilarious.
Sorry, you got me on a tangent that got sidetracked haha
Anyways, the point is that I love them together but not necessarily romantically together.
Also I’m glad you’re enjoying the Leland x Reader fic! When I got into this show, I thought it was CRIMINAL that there weren’t any Leland x Reader fics out there already. I knew I couldn’t be the only one who’s obsessed with that man, and if that meant I had to be the first one to write something, then dammit, I’m doing it! It was either that or wrote a fic with an OC and that was too much effort, haha.
I do have some things on AO3! I’ve got a masterpost of fics pinned to my page. Three of the four are Lost fics because I’m obsessed with Michael Emerson and Lost. I’ve started posting the Leland fic to my AO3, but it’s several chapters behind the one on tumblr (should be all posted on there by Halloween because I thought that was excellent timing).
Thanks for asking! Sorry not sorry for the long response—the coffee kicked in right as I started typing and the brain got really excited about a lot of things.

Working on Lost in Time - with Endgame!Tony stranded in the past with Loki
It was started in December 2021. I have posted several hundred thousand words since then and written several thousand in other drafts. My writing is different now so going back to it is odd. I love the Tony and Loki in it though. Guess I just have to re-write the 56k word draft to my current standard (sighs in writer)
Otherwise no one else but me will get gems such as these (mostly dialogue below)
-
“Who are you?”
The person jumped and suddenly metal flowed over his body and he was fully encased in a suit of red and gold armor. He turned around. “Name’s Tony.”
“That doesn’t explain who you are.” Loki studied the man. He seemed afraid of him, encasing himself in a literal suit of armor was a big clue. Loki hadn’t seen anything like that armor though and he was instantly curious.
“Just passing through. You can go back to whatever it was you were doing.”
“No one simply passes through here. It’s hidden from sight and magics. I’ll ask again, who are you?”
“Seriously no one you need to know about, Reindeer Games.”
“You look and speak like you know me, you’re afraid of me, yet I’ve never met you. Answer me.”
“It’s none of your business, green eyes. I’m not staying here long.”
Loki kept up his glare and stayed silent, purposely unsettling this Tony person.
It worked as Tony continued. “I’m just waiting on Granny Weatherwax to come back, she’s helping me with something. So shoo.” He waved his metal encased hand.
Loki laughed openly. “You just shooed me? Me? And you seem to know me? You’re strange.” Loki liked puzzles. He was going to put this Tony one together.
His laugh startled Tony visibly, he jumped again. “You laugh? In a good way?”
“I am the God of Mischief. I like to laugh.”
“What the hell happened to you then?”
“Whatever are you talking about?”

„DILFs I fell for during my ♥️ teen and young adult years“
Daddy issues? Yes.
1. Alan Rickman (as Severus Snape)
I was like 11 when I got into Harry Potter and my obsession about A.R. focused mainly on Severus Snape. I swear he formed my character during puberty and my entire taste in man. I basically made an Harry Potter OC out of myself and made my entire personality like that Slytherin girl that has a secret romance with her potions teacher… and I made it everyone’s problem. Damn I was annoying
2. Benedict Cumberbatch (as Sherlock Holmes)
I think I joined the BBC Sherlock fandom around the time season 2 dropped and fell so hard for Sherlock. I even when to the first Sherlocked CON in London only to be madly disappointed when I actually met him. I can’t describe it but as I walked into the photo area and stood right next to him I instantly knew I don’t like Him. Like we didn’t even speak much it was just an instand bad feeling that I still have many years later. At the time it felt like a very bad breakup.
3. Mark Gatiss (as Mycroft Holmes)
Always liked his character in BBC Sherlock but I honestly fell in love the same day I lost Benedict. Coping mechanisms? Maybe. Idk.
3. Tom Hiddleston (as Loki)
Honestly what does it say about me that I always fall for the bad guys? It got as far as me cutting my hair short and getting a ridiculously expensive cosplay. Still I’m only here for the older version of Loki. Honestly after Ragnarök everything went to hell and I don’t really enjoy anything that came from the MCU after that. Not even from my beloved god of mischief.
4. Adam Driver (as Kylo Ren)
Look at this face and tell me you’re not in love. Isn’t he just the cutest? And don’t we Love a man that destroyes things when he’s angry?
5. Jared Harris (as Valery Legasov)
Chernobyl somehow triggered something in me that I thought was long dead. It may be because of my families history in the Soviet Union.. I don’t know. But lemme tell you I haven’t produced fanart that excessive in quite a while.
6. Jin-Yi Han (as TalTal)
(I had to make this gif myself because the fandom is f*cking dead) I swear I always join the party years to late. But Jin-Yi Han awoke a new love for Asian culture in me. I never had much interest for KDramas but honestly this one spoke to me. He became a comfort character.
7. Charlies Dance (as Sardo Numspa)
The first time I saw him as Tywin Lannister in Game of Thrones I thought Damn Daddy please beat my ass… and the rest is history.
We can kinda see a patern here. Don’t we? (Mostly)Mean dudes with longer (dark) hair and anger management issues. Also I’m a slut for authority.
I’ve alway been an artistic person so I flooded the internet with fan art and sometimes fanfiction for all of my beloved characters.
