| Look Upon A Star | Transcendent Lloyd (part 3)

I'm making side faces and idk if I am to be happy that I am pushing my boundaries or that I'm probably failing miserably-... anyway. When I first lended my eyes on this transcendent au Lloyd (by @calypsolemon) I was like "wise old man me want to draw" and here we are, wonder what such a card would mean for your future?

thinking about raijū jay ok and the parallels between him and nya forgetting..

for nya, when she merged with the sea she became something greater. for her its about becoming a higher power; shes got a greater purpose now. shes transcended from mortal connections.

for jay, becoming in tune with his raijū side (and, post-merge having his identity Only consist of that side) is about become something lesser, in a way. its about losing his presence, falling back into the natural order of the world.

raijū in my au are mortal creatures. they die and not in violent manners, not by bloodshed, but they essentially fizz out. nya gains immortality, merges herself with something which is literally named endless, meanwhile jay becomes fleeting, finite and irrelevant.

this also parallels the reactions of the world to their disappearance. nya's is noticed by all of ninjago. her non-presence has a presence of its own. jay's slips through the cracks in face of the overwhelming presence of the merge. sure, all the ninja are mourned by the realms that knew them, but when the others return jay's disappearance loses the notice of the people of the merged realms. nya's and jay's opinions about this are the same though: neither care for how their disappearance is perceived. this attitude comes from different places, once again nya is essentially above caring about it, while jay is content to blend in with the flow of the world.
