sdfkdghlsjf i finally made myself sit down and write the last part of this and i think it turned out pretty fun so I hope you enjoy!

"You're leaving."

It's not a question or an accusation.  It's just a statement, as true and as obvious as the bunk beds around them and the Fangblades a floor above and the shuddering wood beneath their feet.

Garmadon turns.  Lloyd stands a step away, hands balled into fists, eyes fixed somewhere near Garmadon's chest.

Heavily, Garmadon sets his bag on the bed.  Completely, he turns to face Lloyd, even as every instinct tells him to go.   "You're safe," he says.  "That's all I ever cared about.  That's only why I came back -- for you, son."

"So stick around for me too!" Lloyd blurts.  "What good is coming back just if you abandon me again?"

Garmadon's heart sinks.  Lloyd's expression changes.  His shoulders slump and his white-knuckled fists relax almost like they're letting go.  "There's no stopping you, huh."

"The evil in my blood demands it," Garmadon says.  It's an excuse.  It's not.  Even now, it churns within him, demanding him to hurt and harm and destroy.

A hand covers one of his.  Garmadon blinks back into focus.  Lloyd's fingers squeeze tight around his.  

"You came back for me," he says, suddenly fierce.  "That means there's got to be light in you, too, right?"  He drops Garmadon's hand and steps back, resolute.  "And if that means we've got to fight --"  He exhales harshly.  "If that means we've got to fight, then I'm gonna do everything in my power to defeat you."

Garmadon sinks to the ground.  Like this, his son's head is nearly equal in height to his own.  When did he grow so big? he wonders.  When was the last time I carried him?

When will I not be able to?

Lloyd meets his eyes squarely.  Despite it, tears mar the corners of his.  Gently, Garmadon lifts one clawed fingertip and catches them on the tip.  

"I know," he says, hushed.  "I know.  I wouldn't have it any other way."

Slowly, Lloyd grins a watery grin.  

"Promise?" he whispers.

And:

"Promise," Garmadon says.

There is strength in the boy.  Garmadon will give him that.

He takes another blast of energy to his shoulder, a wince that quickly turns into a grin as his power feeds on the fight.  The green ninja springs out of the way of his counterattack.  Fire shines in his eyes as he pulls away, as bright and burning as the golden power that was his demise the first time around.  He smears the back of his hand against his mouth; it comes away bloody from the cut on his lip.

He looks wild.  Feral, with the blood staining his teeth and jaw.

But the words that come tumbling from his mouth, the platitudes and pleas and whines- whatever strength the boy might have is rendered useless by his heart.

A pitiful thing, human hearts are.  Garmadon is glad to have been purified of his by his resurrection.  

Destruction boils at his fingertips.  He focuses it into another blast that sends the boy into the wall.  When he tries to stand, Garmadon punches down with a destruction-strengthened hand.  The boy collapses back to the ground with a choking cry.

Garmadon strides over to where he lies.  Bending one knee, he kneels beside him.  One green eye slips open and follows his movement.  The boy tries to say something.  It comes out in broken wheezes.  

"You," he gasps, eye trembling, searching Garmadon's face.  "Father -- light -- you--"

Garmadon's hand snaps out.  The boy gurgles as fingers close around his neck.  He thrashes weakly, but Garmadon lifts him as easily as one might a particularly pesky rodent.  His claws catch on sensitive skin; blood beads and slides down his neck like a stain.

Good.  Garmadon tilts the boy's chin up, up into the spotlight beam of the prison security and the eyes of the world.  

"There is no light in me," he hisses.  "The man you are searching for is dead."

When he pours power into his arm this time, the world erupts in purple fire.

There had been a legend once.  There had been a legend of one who would hold the powers of the First Spinjitzu Master, who would unite them with the element of destruction, who would bring about the end of the world as it was known.

Once, he'd assumed with everyone else that the legend was fulfilled in the Overlord's short-lived reign over New Ninjago City.

Now, burning in the rage of the supernova before him, Garmadon wonders how they ever thought that weakling could have been this.

His arm, broken and mangled, straightens itself.  Another one sprouts from his elbow, and another from his ribcage.  The sphere around Lloyd warps, concrete buildings bursting into flowers before melting like lava and flying back together in shards of glass.  

Creation and destruction, harnessed in one body.  The total ability to destroy and reshape the world at his will.  

Garmadon struggles to his feet.  Lloyd's eyes raise like empty floodlights.  They lock onto Garmadon, and energy deluges upon him like a hurricane.  His skin flakes.  Forms rise from the darkness around him: wisps of gray hair, visages of pale skin, sense memories of creaking joints and aching bones.  

Garmadon screams.  He takes a step.  Another.  Feeling disappears from his legs.  He pulls his arms close to his chest and runs.  

His body connects.  

He throws Lloyd to the ground, and the light around them bursts like a lightbulb.  

Garmadon blinks bright spots away.  Feeling, pain, rushes back into his body as Lloyd snarls beneath him.  He digs his claws in and shifts, planting one knee on Lloyd's chest and bracing his other foot on the ground.  

"Once," he snaps, "you made me promise to hold onto whatever light might still be inside me.  And damn it, Lloyd, but now you have to too!"

Lloyd screams.  Garmadon flies back, smashing into a wall.  Through spinning eyes, he sees as Lloyd stalks closer.  

Garmadon musters a grin.  "Everything in my power," he says.

Shouting, he charges forward again.

okay I call bullshit on number 3, she didn't know at all period it was her son that was going to be the green ninja also that if the green ninja was going to be a kid either. if she did none of this would have happened at ALL! she was genuinely surprised to see that her son was the green ninja.

also in the retcon knowing that Lloyd was half oni (quarter?) she definitely put him in darkly's school of bad boy's on that account.

she put distance between herself and her son bc she genuinely thought he was going to be garmadon 2.0

if she didn't Lloyd PERIOD would not be in darkly's there are other orphanages, and foster places in ninjago!!!

Wu probably checked in on him bc again it's his brothers kid, you gotta check up on your nephews! and also he doesn't care that his brother is evil just that he's okay (see all of cannon) unlike misako who only knew garmadon before the fully evilness stuff, Wu literally grew up with garmy slowly succumbing to the evil.

it was 100% HER choice to leave Lloyd in darkly's as opposed to literally ANYWHERE ELSE, it's a very deliberate plot point!

misako I do love her, she has failed Lloyd but she did slowly make up for it after apologising and literally trying her hardest to change.

misako has grown both as a person and a mother to Lloyd, that was literally one of her main arcs tbh.

like we can say "oh but" this and that, it was entirely deliberate of her to abandon him at darkly's because again she 100% thought he was going to be evil.

The hate Misako receives is way to strong you guys need to relax with my girl 😭

Like whats with everyone hating Wu and Misako for making mistakes but then looking at Garmadon like ‘omg he’s the best parent! Best character! He didn’t mean to do it!’ Like please if you’re gonna hate the first two for their reasonable mistakes then you gotta hate Garmadon for his too.

Misako was just made into a single mum and had her family ripping to parts in a matter of seconds, we have no idea if Garmadon was banished before or after her pregnancy and personally i believe either way it would make sense why she would make such a mistake as leaving Lloyd.

‘But she could’ve left Lloyd with Wu!’ Thats a bad idea on its own because (and presuming that Morro left just a few years ago, so Misako and Garmadon know of him and what happened)

1) i doubt Wu would be prepared to look after a child after Morro having such a large effect on him (so Misako wouldn’t bring it up with him)

2) Misako AND Wu were grieving the loss of Garmadon, WU DID NOT MEAN TO SEND GARMADON-WHO WAS TRYING TO KILL HIM- TO THE UNDERWORLD.

3) Misako knows what effect the green ninja prophecy can have on a child after Morro, and whilst she definitely doesn’t blame Wu for what happened to Morro (its no ones and everyones fault), she can’t let the possibility of that happen to her baby.

and 4) she can’t have him hate Wu or Garmadon. Wu obviously visited Lloyd during his time in Darkleys cause both of them knew of each other and were familiar enough for Wu to casually scold him and Lloyd to insult Wu. Misako did not want her boy to hate either man and left him at a school that could guarantee that Garmadon is never hated either at such a young age.

Misako did leave and that was a bad choice on her part, but if the writers could manage it better you could have seen a great story based on a single mother in a difficult situation, and the mistakes she made throughout that. Like guys she spent ten years dedicating her LIFE to trying to find a solution to the final battle and the green ninja thing, she spent years thinking of Garmadon and LLOYD, SPECIFICALLY LLOYD, constantly. Misako is a mother who made a mistake, but is a mother who wholeheartedly loves Lloyd more than anything and anyone else.

She could’ve sent letters to Lloyd, but Garmadon could’ve visited Lloyd using the whole shadow powers thing. They both could’ve done so much more to be apart of Lloyd’s like but didn’t. Wu portrays a parent who was inexperienced with Morro, Misako and Garmadon portray parents who were inexperienced, unsure, in difficult positions, and could not handle the situation they were in appropriately. They all are people guys, adults are not all powerful and do not know what to do in the right moments, they are confused and they can be overwhelmed and they can make mistakes, and in this situation a lot of the mistakes had a negative affect on Lloyd, but even Lloyd understands that their situation was not a fair one.

I understand that they messed up big time, I’m not going to downplay that, but genuinely i think the reason everyone is STILL so mad at her specifically is because how poorly she was handled. They introduced her and then immediately victimised her despite the fact they could’ve pointed a view of a guilty mother who doesn’t know HOW to mother. They could’ve shown the actual closure Lloyd needed because I think we all need it too.

THEY DIDNT HANDLE MISAKO’S CHARACTER AND STORY RIGHT AND RUINED A CHARACTER THAT COULDVE BEEN SOOOOO GOOD BFFHDYDG

Unfinished business-3rd Part-Mother

Part2 Wu and Garmadon's mother died giving birth to Wu while Garmadon had 2 years. Lloyd learns that her soul cannot leave ninjago unless she completes some unfinished business. Lloyd is determined to help her in this.

In this part, Nathalie has one more unfinished business. And that is to say goodbye to her sons.

"How do you mean to them?" Lloyd asked her, confused.

"Well, they are my sons," Nathalie explained to him. "They are one of my unfinished business."

"Should I bring them here?" Lloyd asked.

"I..." Nathalie hesitated. "Maybe it's better if they don't see me as a ghost."

"What then?" Lloyd asked her, still puzzled.

"You will convey my words to them," Nathalie sighed. "That’s the best way."

"...And she said she loves you very much and that she is really sorry she didn't have the chance to..."

"Wait!" Sensei Garmadon said, standing up. "Where is she?"

"She said it's better if you don't see her as a ghost..." Lloyd said sadly.

"She is our mother." Wu insisted and approached Lloyd. "You have to take us to her."

"I'm sorry," Lloyd said nervously. "But she strictly forbade me..."

"Please, talk to her once more, son." Sensei Garmadon put a hand on his shoulder. "Please."

"Grandma?" Lloyd asked in surprise when he saw Nathalie hysterically pacing around.

"I don’t know what else to do," Nathalie said, despairingly kneeling down. "I... I've been waiting so long and..."

"Grandma, calm down," Lloyd told her, kneeling beside her. "I know..."

"How..." Nathalie looked at him nervously.

"I conveyed everything you said to Dad and Uncle Wu," Lloyd tried to explain to her.

"That's what I'm telling you!" Nathalie exclaimed. "I don’t know what else is left! I returned the jewel and said goodbye to the sons..."

"Are you sure, brother?" Wu asked worriedly to Sensei Garmadon as they followed Lloyd.

"Don't you want to meet our mother?" Sensei Garmadon looked at him, confused.

"I do, but I'm afraid she doesn’t want to." Wu sadly lowered his head. "She said..."

"Forget what she said." Sensei Garmadon came over and hugged Wu after a long time. "She’s afraid we’ll see her as a ghost. But we must see her.

We have to hear her voice one more time. That's all I want, and I'm sure you want it too."

"You did not say goodbye to the sons," Lloyd interrupted her. "I did it in your name. But you didn’t."

"But, Lloyd..." Nathalie looked at him sadly. "I couldn’t bear to not hug them, to be seen as a ghost!"

"Don't worry about that, mother," Sensei Garmadon said from the cave entrance. "We just want to see you."

"Dad?" Lloyd looked at him in surprise. "You sent me here so that you could follow me?"

"More or less," Wu admitted.

"My sons..." Nathalie looked at them with wide eyes.

"Mother?" Wu looked at her with the eyes of a child. "Is that you...?"

"Yes, it's me," Nathalie sighed. "I'm sorry you grew up without me. Especially what happened to you, Garmy."

"You're not to blame for that," Sensei Garmadon said and sat beside her. "But yes, we’ve always missed you."

"Too much," Wu added, sitting next to Sensei Garmadon.

"Can you tell us about yourself?" Wu asked her. "While we still have this little time?"

Hours passed talking, and Nathalie slowly began to feel like she was losing herself.

"It seems that we really have very little time now," she said, watching as her hands slowly disappeared.

"I..." Wu wanted to say something but couldn't remember what.

"I want you to remember that I love you and I'm very proud of you," Nathalie said gently, speaking her last words to her sons.

Sensei Garmadon sadly sighed in response.

"Regardless of everything," Nathalie finished her sentence. "I am proud of you too, Garmadon. Just look at the son you have!"

Saying this, she turned to Lloyd. "Thank you, grandchild."

"You're welcome," Lloyd quietly said to her, and she slowly disappeared.

Both Sensei Garmadon and Wu wanted to say something more to her, but they couldn't. She felt herself slowly entering the afterlife.

Finally free. Her sons and grandson would miss her, but she would finally see her love again. She knew she would see them again. Until then, she would watch over them.

Sensei Garmadon sighed sadly and sat on the bed.

"Are you okay?" Misako gently asked him and hugged him from behind.

"You know, I’m very glad you’re here." Sensei Garmadon softly told her. "Especially for Lloyd. Lloyd needs a mother."

"I wasn’t there when he needed me the most," Misako said sadly.

"You're never too old to need your mother," Sensei Garmadon gently consoled her.

His tone was still sad. "Believe me, I know from my own experience."

I personally don't think Jay would be a child of Zeus, idk it just doesn't feel right. But I searched it up and there are some minor goddess of lightning and thunder so that works, it also makes more sense because Jay got his powers from his mom

Nya would probably be in Posidon cabin idk guys

I once saw someone say that Cole would be in the Demeter cabin which I disagree with because Cole never really had any power over plants. I actually think Hades would work better because Hades has some control over the ground and Cole turned into a ghost so he probably has some dead ghosty stuff idk

I literally don't know for Zane, he's a robot so I guess he doesn't need one

For Lloyd I also don't know, I think it would be cool if he was a demigod child of someone of chaos or destruction or something cuz of Garmy but I still have no clue

ck- i fear i dont really care for this one very much even tho i do really love this fight scene so like 4/10. the choral bits are cool i guess

oni- 5/10 its ok feel similar to yang in that its just general ninjago fare

mystake- its ok its a bit short like 5/10 tbh i like the percussive bits

yang- 5/10 its ok idk very generic ninjago fare but it suits the scene its from well

warden- harumis theme included automatic 10/10 (joke) but i do like this one. sorry i just really like the s8/9 ost they always bang for real. this ones a bit more on the chill side and its not that remarkable/memorable as far as the versions of rumi's theme go so like 5/10

cursed- 6/10 its a fun track but its like weirdly dramatic for a not very dramatic fight scene which is kind of funny. ok fight track

ouroboros- 6/10 yk going thru this list i noticed a lot of these are very percussive which is fine but yk. also very short

final- 7/10 a classic but nothing crazy

upply- 8/10 really big fan of all of motm's leitmotifs and the different percussion instruments in this really help distinguish it from like. every other extremely percussive ninjago song. but the leitmotif helps a lot too its very epic and grounded.

possess- 9/10 im a violin player so im always very biased to when ninjago uses violins and i reallyyy like their use here bc its like the dark intense but contrasted with the little fiddle notes and yea. its cool its very morro-y. the back and forth between the violin and the rest of the ensemble is really fun it reminds me a lot of the danse macabre and tbh they prolly took inspiration from that seeing as its one of the most well known pieces abt the undead

garmy- 10/10 one of my absolute favorite ninjago tracks ever sorry i absolutely love the mesh of the sons of garmadon theme ( one of my favorite leitmotifs) and the garmadon family theme bc its just sooo fucking crazy and intense and it suits the scene its in so well. mega banger alert

nya- really love this one. lots of ninjago music is extremely percussive so this one is really nice bc its so Different. the slow careful treading at the beginning building up into something intense and i always rlly like nya's music bc its very different instrument wise from most of the other tracks and she has a lot more wind instruments usually but it also just focuses more on the wind + strings than the percussion which is nice. and the overarching beat done by the what i assume is bells of some sort but electronic instruments dont always sound 1:1 to real ones but yk what i mean(idk why i wrote so much abt this one but its a good track. 10/10)

Also this is basically fun facts about morro in my au-

(SPOILERS FOR AN UPCOMING FANFIC IM GONNA MAKE SOON WHEN I FINISH MAKING MY KALMAAR REDEMPTION ARC FANFIC)

Morro was born in another realm but died there so his soul flew into the ninjago realm (sorry if I got that wrong I haven’t been watching ninjago for a long time and also don’t have Netflix and idk any good websites so I’ll have to call it ninjago realm for now until someone corrects me) and then he found his soul found a baby crying in an alleyway with the mother nearby who seems to have passed out and he noticed that the baby’s life force (I’m gonna have to pray you know what that) is slowly dimming so the soul possessed the baby, but the problem is he doesn’t remember his past life and now he just think he’s some random kid who can control wind-

He is deathly allergic to peanut-

He was 13 when he died but not in the canon way-

Wu looked a lot more younger (I hc that he used a spell to make himself look more like a teen bc he misses the old time where he and garmy would get along when they were younger so wu looks like his spinjitzu brother self now except taller but he’s still the same) and had told him about ninjas and he didn’t tell morro about the green ninja thing-

Morro was playing nearby a cave but he didn’t know it was where the realm crystal was- (nor will he ever know that it’s a thing-) a dude came by and told him he lost his belongings deep inside the cave while searching for his daughter who ran in there and requested morro to find it- and morro decided to accept the request and find in and yea- he died and the preeminent trapped morro inside the cursed realm thinking he went in there for the realm crystal-

In case you haven’t read my last post- morro has a ginger cat named windy who died

He has a strong sweet tooth- like you can cat a slice of cake and he’ll snatch it from you and run away (kinda like how tikki from miraculous ladybug literally almost destroyed the world with- um… idk what it’s called 😭) yes he’s that obsessed with it-

His fav food is chocolate chip cookies

This ain’t about morro that much but his dad is the most kindest and shyest thing known to man and he was a samurai who merged with the wind and is assumed dead-

Morro’s fav color is purple-

He’s kinda similar to Zane in a way- like he sees in a Zane’s pov- except it’s kinda green and the arrow thing legit looks like nahida’s skill thing-

He uses a chakram (that looks similar to ai chan from hi3)

He dances in the night when he knows everyone is asleep

He is super agile and flexible- he got that from his mom- and he is strong and has shit tons of stamina- he got that from his father and btw I forgot to mention that he got it from his past life mom and dad not the current one-

Question, in your Garmadon is back baby AU, what exactly happened with the Oni invasion? I remember that one of the reasons that Garmadon took the throne was to stop them from coming. So did they come? Or did they remain in whatever situation they were in before they came to Ninjago?

I'm gonna be honest, I haven't had the time to watch the show after Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu and I've been dodging spoilers all these years, so there might be a bunch of things I'm not aware of regarding what's going on with Garmy

Still trying to figure out how to get there, but the AU does reach up to March of the Oni and the invasion happens, albeit with a lot of events mixed up. Heck I might change the AU's course completely once I finish the show, but who knows ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯
