Okay, so hear me out.

What if Arin has the elemental power of Creation?

I know, it's said over and over again that Arin does not have an elemental power, but Sora said the same about herself in season 1. I feel like even if someone says they don't have an element, there's always a chance for the opposite to be true.

See, I have this theory that during the Merge, some elemental masters died during it, and that's why some masters only get powers afterward (i.e. Frak and Sora). We know that elements are passed on to new people when the previous master departs and they do not have any descendants, like how Zane got his ice power.

Master Wu is more than implied to be departed now, even if it was never said outright. I could be entirely wrong (because this is ninjago, characters have been brought back from the dead before) but if Wu is departed, and he has no children, wouldn't that mean the element of Creation moved onto a new master?

Perhaps, a naive yet determined kid who used to want nothing more than to be a ninja who helps others and sees the good in almost everyone?

And while it's not solid evidence, his spinjitsu color is an orange/yellow color, I dunno it's interesting to think about.

As much as I love the idea of there being a ninja who doesn't have powers, I really think this is more likely. And poetic, Lloyd training the next master of Creation?

Ninjago Dragons Rising Theory Time!!!!

So on a discord server I'm part of, I brought up the idea of what a common theme might be for Dragons Rising seasons.

Obviously, spoiler warnings for what's happened in Dragons Rising this far.

This idea is as follows:

Each season, a different source dragon will come to Lloyd/the ninja for help with preventing them from being taken or something like that. And along the way, Lloyd will learn a new thing about how he will be a Conduit for the Source Dragons.

Further more, the first part of the season (given how Ninjago seems to be dropping episodes for Dragons Rising) will be Lloyd and the others learning how to manage whatever stress/results/thing he learns came from what they had to do for the source dragons.

The second part of the season will be the introduction of the next source dragon and whatever task Lloyd and the others have to complete for them. As well as completing said task and Lloyd learning whatever he was supposed to.

Before I explain my reasoning, I'm going to give a quick overview of the two seasons we have and key points to back up my theory.

Season One - Part One (Roughly)

Just after the merge, Lloyd meets his students Sora, Arin, and Wyldfyer and reunites with all the ninja minus Jay (and Cole?). Lloyd and the others fight against Soras home government of Imperium and they meet the first officially introduced source dragon, The Source Dragon of Energy. Lloyd becomes a "conduit" of the dragons power to help dragons to escape.

Season One - Part Two (Roughly)

Events called merge quakes threaten the merged lands existence so they go on a quest to find the dragon cores. During the end of the world (basically) Lloyd uses his ability as a conduit combined with the dragon cores to stop the merge quakes forever(?) and frees the Source Dragon of Energy.

Season Two - Part One

Lloyd begins having horrific visions that show him an event called the Blood Moon. He speaks to the source dragons and is told by a vision from them to find teachers. The ninja figure out Ras is going to use the Blood Moon to free "the Forbidden Five" after they go to the teachers, two ninja dragons named Egalt and Rontu. They teach the ninja Rising Dragon Technique to fight against Ras. The ninja fight against Ras, Kai is lost when a member of the forbidden five escapes, Bonzle(one of Coles adopted kids /j) is also lost. Lloyd learns how to cope with his visions kinda.

Season Two - Part Two

Lloyd is approached by the Source Dragon of Motion who tells him he has to go to the Tournament of Sources and compete to win so he can stop Ras. Lloyd and the ninja go to the tournament where they are reunited with Jay, whose working for Ras and has no memory of the others. Sora wins the tournament and the other members of the Forbidden Five are released. Kai and Bonzle return and Arin leave to follow Ras, believing he knows where his parents are.

So here's where my explanation comes into play:

S1Pt1 Lloyd and the others meets the Source Dragon of Energy and he becomes the conduit. In a way, that led them to discovering how to solve the Merge Quakes which they take care of in S1Pt2. In other words, solving the merge quakes is the result of the Source Dragon of Energy making Lloyd the conduit. Reading between the lines, we can kinda see Lloyd learning how to manage the power of being a Conduit by using the Dragon Cores in the finale of S1Pt2. Also in season 1, Nya stays in Cloud Kingdom to learn mroe about Merge Quakes and finds something about the Dragon Cores and Source Dragons, information Lloyd and the others is able to understand now that they have met a source dragon and knows kinda what to do.

S2Pt1 gets a little interesting. Lloyd meets with the Source Dragons and they briefly are surprised a "mortal" is among them and they discuss something that indicates a long process of Lloyd becoming intricated into the Source Dragons and only ever referred to him as the conduit. Also in S2Pt1, we see the stress that is caused by Lloyd becoming the Conduit again being more effects from S1Pt1 and the Source Dragon of Energy. The events of S2Pt1 are specifically caused by the vision the source dragons gave Lloyd, almost as if becoming a Third Fang Ninja was part of his journey somehow AND learning how to cope with his visions. Then in S2Pt2, we meet the Source Dragon of Motion who asks Lloyd to participate in the Tournament of Sources to win so he prevents the plans of Ras and protects the Source Dragons. He ends up taking all of the ninja and is under the impression he had to be the one to win, so gets upset at himself when Sora does. The SDoM eventually tells Lloyd that's not what she meant and gave him an item to call upon a source dragon if needed and says they now see the need for Lloyd too.

With the new set leaks, we see the Source Dragon of Focus and the Source Dragon of Chaos, foreshadowing their appearance in Season 3 perhaps

In a shortened way(Key - Dragon Intro, Intro Result, Event Source Dragon Guides/Causes, Guided Event Result, Lloyd's Lesson):

Season 1 Part 1: Source Dragon of Energy introduction, Lloyd becomes a Conduit, The Ninja can use the Cloud Kingdom's knowledge Season 1 Part 2: Dragon cores are gathered, Merge Quakes end, Lloyd learns how to control the power of a Conduit Season 2 Part 1: Lloyd's visions from being a Conduit haunt him, The Ninja find Rontu and Egalt, The Blood Moon's impact is controlled, Lloyd learns how to manage his visions Season 2 Part 2: Source Dragon of Motion introduction, The Ninja go to the Tournament of Sources, The Ninja keep elemental powers out of the Forbidden Five's hands, Lloyd learns he doesn't have to do everything himself

You see where I'm going with it? it's a cycle, one I see continuing that leads Lloyd down the path of becoming the conduit and the ninja becoming the protectors of the Merged Lands like they were for Ninjago.

Oh, and, I saw this post from Doc Wyatt about Lloyd's Dragon form. It's real I promise (I can provide proof). I also think this journey for him will help Lloyd come to terms with his Dragon Heritage and maybe unlock his dragon form like he did his Oni Form.

Tried to categorise every known element to each Soruce! I think that the new elements could have been made when Riyu was born and those could be "his" elements but I could be wrong hmm

Went with "Flow" and "Stillness" for the Water and Ice Sources just for the sake of them having a name, 7th one is still an enigma tho, Balance is kinda just a place holder name lol

My reasonings for Tech being under Energy and Heat under Motion is because I think that when the Tourney starts, the current Ninja team will have a representant of each Source, so with Jay and Kai out of the picture, Sora and Wyldfyre can fill those slots

Also ngl was so hard to do anything for the Ice Source lmao

Do you guys think that the reason that doc Wyatt couldn’t say arin parents name because, both or one parent(s) would probably meet the ninja(s) , or most definitely sora . But neither the ninjas nor the audience would be able to to know that these are arin’s parents ( they probably changed a lot since the merge) , and either the ninjas or the parents let slip out that they know arin , and they all latter have a realization

new and updated theory on the source of lloyd’s power!

in dragons rising there definitely has been lore dropped here and there but more than anything I find ammunition to power my long winded theory that lloyd’s powers come from his heart, in theoretical and just elemental sense.

doc wyatt has established there isn’t a set explanation (YET) in show, but he did like one of my tweets regarding my claim that Lloyd’s power resonates within the heart and soul.

starting out, lloyd’s power has never been defined. it is hinted by the writers that lloyd has no idea what it is, though what we do know is that it—-

1) can create life and destroy it (the book of elemental powers)

2) draw energy from the elements

3) shield oneself / very powerful in attack

4) does not belong to the source dragon of energy but belongs to the source dragon OF LIFE

5) has some sort of connection with the FSM

and lastly, by LEGO GROUP’s definition.. it’s ENERGY.

energy can have have different meanings. energy in lightning’s case seems to be the electrical sense, but energy can .. power up things, it makes things work -

energy is also used as a synonym for life force, this is demonstrated when referring to the act of draining source dragons and the whack-rats.

what i am getting at, is I believe that energy in the sense of lloyd’s powers is that he holds the essence of life itself. his power works hand in hand in his survival as well as keeps him alive.

now to connect him to LIFE , a source dragon, was very interesting but made a great deal of sense. Life is in everything, energy can create life.. who created life?

THE FSM used elemental powers to bring Garmadon and Wu into existence, he also holds the ability that past his death, he could steal lloyd from the mortal world to speak to him in the grasslands.

the elements of creation can be drawn from in their energy for lloyd, but the elements of creation were the core four.

LIFE = Lightning, Ice, Fire, Earth

so….

that also makes sense as to when he was dying in mystake’s tea shop that they had to use their elemental powers of creation to revive lloyd or heal him.

now jumping into the theory that will always be my favorite, and the show itself actually jumped into it was elemental powers being felt or drawn from different places depending on the elemental powers, ie nya with veins, zane with his mind, etc etc etc—

lloyd’s power comes from his heart in my opinion.

firstly, life—- energy is what makes the heart beat, you cannot live without that.

mentally, lloyds power has always been his true self, his heart, the way he cares so deeply for people (even if they do not deserve so)

green in spirituality also represents the heart chakra, it is very similar in description.

but as someone so close to his mortality, and who i believe is always aware of such, it makes so much sense.

in s8, when his element is fighting for him as he’s succumbing to his wounds in the fight in krytparium it sparks on his chest,

following this— the elemental master figures that were released in the SOG wave depicted different elements and where they were located differed on the ninja, lloyds was insanely insanely obvious—

overdrawing from his element has caused him great sickness multiple times. we see this with golden power, then we see this with him fainting while using his element against griefbringer in MOTM (something very opposite to his element— death)

the fact that his power kept him alive but also left him for a bit after he almost was on the brink of dying in s8

now with dragons rising and the conduit putting him in a semi coma for several days because of his mortality

he puts his hand on his heart when he approaches the imperium source dragon when saying “this place, i feel weird”

him believing he’d die from conduit power…

it’s justttt…

but that being said there is so much they could discuss about lloyd in show, whether discovering his powers, or seeing the actual scope of what they do

lloyd is very hesitant and he out of anyone never talks about his powers or how they work

but there’s so much there, like what if his elemental power could heal people or bring people back to life (other than himself LOL)

Maybe this is just wishful thinking, but does anyone think that after finding out about Jay, that she’ll go back to being the silver ninja? Trading her husband’s gi colors to a pale blue? Cutting her hair short to signify the opposite of growth? Perhaps yearning for the past but never able to fully gain it back? I think it would be cool if they switched up the whole “blue is for water” deal. I want them to go more… clear with her color scheme maybe. I think she’ll get more serious, but then succumb to the idea that maybe she can’t control everything (and she might never get him back). It’s the curse of the water elemental. The way the cookie crumbles…

I think the reason that they’re gonna be getting bonzle more involved is because she is probably associated with after life and the dead or undead etc. and when you bring the whole situation with the forbidden five being brought back to life it kinda starts to connect w each other uk? So they’re probably gonna be getting help from bonzle to try to stop the forbidden five from being ressurected since her creator must have some kind of rule over that uk what I mean?

i was opening up my drs3 sets and i noticed these on the background of the box art

one of them looks like a temple, which we know will be playing a seemingly large role in drs3, and the other looks almost like the crossroads?? idk i just thought it was interesting, seeing as in the background art for the drs1 and drs2 sets we saw imperium and the wolf mask shadow dojo in the backgrounds 👀

y’know how sora mentioned that the word ‘sora’ means ‘orphan’ in imperium?

i might be reading too much into this, but does that mean imperium has its own language? and given by imperium’s citizens’ strict isolation from the other realms, i’d assume that the language of imperium is the only language the people of imperium are taught, so:

give me kid sora and kid arin meeting each other for the first time, and sora not quite understanding everything arin’s saying because she’s been at the crossroads long enough to pick up a few words in ninjargon, but not that many.

give me arin trying his best to teach sora how to speak and write ninjargon, and her teaching him bits of imperium in turn (but only very rarely).

give me arin bring too young to have finished school, so when sora asks what that word is arin isn’t too sure and gives his best guess, hoping it doesn’t come back to bite him in a few years.

give me these two kids bonding despite culture barriers, despite language barriers, despite everything.

I honestly don’t think arin would do anything too « evil » on season 3

season 2 part 2 kinda proved that arin might hold a grudge towards the ninjas specifically Wu , but he doesn’t do anything horrible or unforgivable to them , I don’t even think that arin chasing ras counts as running away because I doubt he expected an explosion ( even tho it does advantage him)

Don’t get me wrong I love when people draw him as a villain that hates the ninjas , but I just think it doesn’t really fits his character, I mean his intention are finding his parents not taking revenge on the ninjas , he’s mad at them sure but not at the point of starting a fight with them

What I do think is that the ninjas would start the fight, not in a direct way , they probably mean to attack ras but arin would defend him . Excluding sora I think that the ninjas (specifically Lloyd )don’t seem to understand that arin doesn’t want to be with them anymore which could result in a fight. I think that there is still a part of care that arin has for the ninjas but right know his only concern is finding his parents so I don’t think arin would be in any way throwing hands with anyone honestly ( ok maybe jay but idk)

But that just my opinion
