so a couple of days ago I finally bought re3 and honestly I've been shipping these two since the game release lmao.........

i sometimes think about the fact that Nikolai refers to Jill as a bleeding heart, and he calls her that because she has so much sympathy and care towards those in trouble.

he questions her "sense of self preservation" but she's never been one to care about herself like she puts herself in so much risk for literally anyone and everyone.

I also think about when he called stars out going "are all stars this soft, no wonder you're all dead", that it stuck with her for a while after, and it played an impact in her decision to leave him behind because he was so adamant that she was too soft towards people so she left him behind to prove her own point.

Raccoon city was caused by greed, and when Nikolai offered to pay her whatever she wanted if she saved him, her refusing was her own way of saying she wasn't someone who was going to set aside her morals for money + she knew nikolai would have probably tried to kill them in the helicopter anyway.

The whole thing about her being a "bleeding heart" too, a bleeding heart refers to someone who's overly sympathetic for their own good, and over the years she's grown a lot more isolated when it comes to outwardly showing her feelings, she still cares but it isn't shown as obviously anymore.
