i've seen figure skater sanji and hockey player zoro before. idk if its been explored but i'd love to put it out there:

hockey player sanji (specifically goalie bc he desperately wants to avoid being checked) and then pairs skater zoro.

pairs skater zoro's long time partner has been nami. though many people ship them together a Lot, they just know each other super well. Well enough to try dating and both of them realized they don't swing that way. in fact, it makes them a really good team. they fought long and hard to claim top spots in competitions because they portray a chemistry that's separate from the rest. plus zoro can carry nami like she weighs fucking nothing. so their lifts are so much more dynamic. they even have a whole next to impossible combination that they're trying to get the ISU to name after them officially.

sanji plays for the East Blue Straw Hats in the Grand Line Hockey League – a formidable rookie group that took down lots of big names in the preseason. they want to make it all the way to the postseason playoff finals but always seem to fall short. but theyre so determined. they reignited a lot of old sparks that were no longer there for old fans and brought in new and curious fans. sanji is the starter goalie and a damn good one at that. it makes sense bc goalies are often doing splits on the ice just to make a save. he's perfected the technique that utilizes just his legs to make saves that make the crowd go fuckin insane.

we have the usual "i booked the rink to practice before you did" trope but a little more spice. in actuality, sanji loves watching pairs skating competitions. his favorite pair rn is franky and robin (mostly for robin). and he adamantly does not want to admit to anyone that he watches zoro and nami's routines much more frequently. (and if anyone asks, he always says its bc of nami. its never just bc of nami.) and zoro's besties with luffy so he always watches their matches even if he barely understands the rules. and he definitely does not stare at a certain blond starter goalie most of the match thats fucking ridiculous

one day zoro and sanji are invited to do one of those comparison videos between hockey players and figure skaters. both get to laugh at the other even Attempting to do their sport. zoro frankly looks ridiculous in all of sanji's usual goalie get-up. and sanji couldn't land an euler to save his life. the video producer suggests they try a simple pairs skating routine. sanji is like "oh i couldn't do that–hEY WHAT THE FUCK MOSSHEAD PUT ME DOWN" because zoro lifted sanji and had him sat on his shoulder like it was normal.

zoro smirks, "you might be lighter than nami, actually. wanna be my new partner?"

sanji knees him in the stomach before skating away while blushing so hard he could melt the ice beneath him.

Parent groups! DanTDM and Maximus get an egg they (for some fucking reason) named Trump, Philza and Missa get Chayanne, Slimecicle and Mariana get Juanaflippa, Fit and Screen get Ramon, Foolish and Vegetta get Leonarda, Roier and Jaiden get Bobby, Quackity is a single parent of Tilin, and BadBoyHalo is a single parent of Dapper.

The eggs are limited to 2 lives only, and at first must have certain tasks done for them every single day or else they die of neglect and lose a life. The first few weeks several eggs lose a life and a few die permanently. Trump dies of neglect (Dan stopped logging in and Maximus was unable to log in one day), Juanaflippa died to a misclick/sweeping edge, and Tilin also died to sweeping edge on accident. After Juanaflippa lost her second life everyone got together to have a trial to try bringing her back to life, she was but soon died yet again a short time later. Soon after Wilbur returned to the server briefly between tours with his band and got an egg named Tallulah that he left in the care of Phil when he had to leave again.

Slime and Quackity decided to do some sort of weird scheme where Slime pretended to be a new egg named Gegg, I genuinely don’t remember why exactly they thought it was a good idea but Gegg sure did exist.

At some point Max, Bad, and Foolish started the Theory Bros to try to figure out the island’s mysteries. One day everyone got a message saying the eggs would die in 6 days, and on the given date they disappeared and a ship crashed into the island carrying 5 Brazilians, named Cellbit, Pac, Mike, Forever, and Felps. Soon after introductions the eggs reappeared but with cracks on their shells, and they now only required tasks done 3 times a week to not die of neglect. The Brazilians also got an egg named Richarlyson.

Cellbit made a plan to try interrogating Cucurucho and lured it to him by building an illegal iron farm, but he was then teleported to a creepy hallway and tortured with a chainsaw by Cucurucho. He became very vocally against the Federation after that. At some point Felps was kidnapped by the Federation and a plane crashed on the island with the French, named Baghera, Etoiles, Antoine, Aypierre, and Kameto, and they were given an egg named Pomme. Bobby lost his last life in a dungeon. Cellbit decided to infiltrate the federation by turning on everyone else to be convincing that he was on the fed’s side in order to try to find out what they did to Felps, but after managing to get some info to Richas he was also kidnapped by the Feds and soon he and Felps were rescued. Also Cellbit and Roier got married.

Ummm eventually Quackity was kidnapped and replaced by El Quackity who looked like him but didn’t remember the same things as Quackity, and then there was a presidential election. Forever won, Gegg also ran but was assassinated by a couple of codes who were disguised as Chayanne and Tallulah because they can fucking do that now. Phil immediately could tell they weren’t really his kids and ended up fighting with Etoiles to kill them after they revealed themselves. At some point regular Quackity came back but with zero memories and unable to read or write, Pac and Mike have been kidnapped both together (arrested by the Feds) and separately (code for Pac, unknown for Mike), more new people joined who had apparently been frozen in some prison, including Tubbo, Niki, Ironmouse, Tina, Pol, Willy, and a few others I can’t remember right now.

One day a few of the eggs woke up feeling weak and looking either dirty or more badly cracked (it was hard to tell) and then the next day they’d all completely disappeared, leaving their unique accessories behind on their beds. Everyone has been incredibly distressed by losing the eggs, op went into some of it but missed a few details. It’s not confirmed that Bad ate Ron, or even killed him, but it’s been hinted that he did something during his psychotic break (he cut to a black screen and there were chainsaw noises and the next day Ron’s room was badly damaged and Ron wasn’t visible in there)

There’s been a lot of individual people’s lore and backstories starting to be revealed, such as Baghera being experimented on by the Federation as a child before escaping, and Aypierre having been tortured near death for information by the Feds and had to have surgical intervention to keep him alive at some point probably before crashing to the island.

Tubbo, Slime, and Roier were the ones to find the maze. At some point before the eggs vanished Slime found Juanaflippa (who is likely actually a code) and she told him to keep her existence a secret. Recently Juanaflippa led Bad, Aypierre, and Maximus back into a different section of the maze they hadn’t been able to get into before, where Bad had to roll dice and got a new ticket to the island with his name on it, and since then others have been directly teleported to the dice room and getting their own tickets.

Etoiles lost a fight against the code and had his special code sword and shield taken, and publicly declared he’s a builder now he’s done fighting but he secretly had a rematch with the code and won, getting the shield back, and agreed to work with the codes against the federation (but if the codes hurt the eggs or his friends he’ll still kill them) but he’s only told a few people and is still pretending to be on his builder arc.

Another new member is here, named Carre. Even more recently, Kameto (who had only logged on a couple times and then disappeared) was “rescued” from a federation prison but is actually working with them. I’ve definitely also missed shit but here’s my contribution to lore infodumping with what I know and can think of right now

buncha guys are on a train to Quesadilla Island. there is a Huge Wall in the middle of the island. a duck greets them and says "whatever you do don't press the big red button". they press the big red button. the wall Crumbles. yay! duck comes back and says "wtf now you Can Never Leave The Island". also theres a ton of like ruins/old crusty buildings on the island and their first task was to restore electricity so like. there probably Used To Be People Here.

then! new Building appears! duck says "you idiots woke up a dragon and it flew away. now you gotta take care of her eggs". new building turns out to be an adoption center!! there are two parents per egg and each parent has to be from a different language (at the time it was only spanish and english). i forget who the parents were (this was long before i was In The Fandom) but essentially government assigned gay marriage. anyway they have to take care of the eggs and keep them happy and stuff so they don't Die

also there's a guy named cucurucho who's like one of the top federation guys. hes a bitch. then theres another cucurucho (osito bimbo) whos not a bitch. he appears out of nowhere and speaks in like pre generated text to speech voice lines and also writes and gives people books to communicate

also! an enemy is made called The Code or the Binary Entity! it's. well. exactly what it sounds like. a floating mess of ones and zeroes in black and green. and it is Violent and attacks the eggs

spoiler. some of the eggs die. its very sad. there is conflict. i am going to skip to where i joined the fandom because i don't know too much about the Middle Parts

so the eggs go missing. horrible awful tragedy. everyone is upset (and begins to go Insane). forever is so angry and sad he goes and pretty much attacks cucurucho. he then gets drugged on Happy Pills and becomes an absolute weirdo. pac goes and gets kidnapped/drugged on purpose and finds a Cure. yay! the get the leftover Happy Pills and put them in a very secure safe. it is not very secure. bbh immediately steals the pills just to prove that he could. the safe is later reinforced further. also when forever was detoxing he screamed that cucurucho told him that the eggs weren't kidnapped they ran away because of an Even Worse Danger. which some of the islanders believe and some dont

bbh does not buy it and kidnaps a federation worker who he named ron and we later found out is WB011. the workers dont get names and there are tiers D-A, d is the lowest A is the highest. also bbh has fully lost all the color on his skin and is torturing himself with soul vultures and is now covered in his own corrupted blood and torn clothes. hes also canonically completely colorblind

while this is happening tubbo is flirting with fred, another federation worker (WA02). so he's a fed worker defender 100%.

tubbo breaks into fred's office and finds two books: one saying bbh is suspicious and possibly dangerous and advising workers to avoid him. then next book says worker WB011 has not clocked in or out of work for several days and is missing. he draws the conclusion that bbh has kidnapped WB011.

unfortunately bbh had some sort of psychotic episode and. um. ate ron.

also tubbo, slimescicle and. fuck i forget the third person. got coordinates from a chest surrounded by black concrete. each of them had one of the 3 coordinates (x, y, and z) and it took them like 45 minutes to connect the dots. they are led to the entrance of a Maze. when they get through the maze they find a circular room with a wheel numbered 1-8 in roman numerals, surrounded by the eggs signature belongings. obviously they all Freak Out and try to find a way to get in. tubbo enderpearls through the barriers and spins the wheel. lava pours down from everywhere. rip

a little later everyone goes in the maze and finds a room thats like some sort of control room with a big red button. when they press it theres a dialogue that said "i think i found something about the eggs disappearance. lets continue this conversation on the main channel"

at some point they find the circular room again and it has the wheel again but this time the only egg belonging is chayenne's rubber ducky. strange.

more black concrete keeps appearing, then a huge alien structure appears. THEN. they find a message on black concrete FROM THE EGGS!!! wherever they are they can't get back and can only send one message at a time. two more alien structures end up appearing.

tubbo digs a giant hole with a world eater that bbh and aypierre hate so he names it the controversial hole.

bbh is slowly testing everyone on the island to see who he can trust and who he can't, and is implying to everyone that he will burn the world down and kill everyone to get the eggs back. we support his wrongs

philza gets kidnapped and put in a bird house for like a week, thinks it's a bad dream and can't really remember what happened.

bagi arrives with nothing but a frying pan and determination. she somehow has the code for the main channel, but they don't know what to input the code in to make it work.

etoiles now has a love/hate relationship with the codes and enjoys fighting them for fun. he kills one and the only thing it drops are its sword, shield, and a book saying "protect". he takes that to mean protect everyone on the island.

at this point everyone is incredibly suspicious of everyone else btw.

also yesterday bagi told fred that tubbo was in love with him and this morning tubbo got a letter from fred rejecting him and signed it "WA02". my ship has crashed and burned i'm so sad. he has also heavily implied he will Ruin Bagi for this

i definitely missed things but this is a lot of the gist of it i think !

thinking about a full and properly modded server with all the members of the dream smp, with like mo creatures, mr crayfish, bibliocraft, biomes o’ plenty, decocraft, CIT resource packs, THE DOG ONE THAT STACYPLAYS USED IN DOGCRAFT and the ones that add all different types of foods like pies and sandwiches and soups and all that fun stuff!!

and it’s a mostly “normal” server, in which there are no tyrranical governments or roleplay nearly as angsty as the dream smp. i’m basically thinking origins smp but softer, with more roleplay, and billions of mods that used to be popular back in the shadowcraft and dogcraft days. it would be more of a “found family of people that all left their previous homes for various reasons that they slowly get into detail with as they become closer to the others and they all develop a big family dynamic, but there’s occasional conflict since they can never get along for long periods of time.” 

i’m sorry just iMagine all the possibilities???

 tubbo would own ALL the animals like he’d just run a huge fucking zoo and live with all the animals hes tamed and he’d have like 80 dogs and all the bees on the server. not to mention his house would be absolutely DECKED with cute decor stuff. he’d have a huge portal hub for all the different dimensions that would be added to the game. he’d probably dabble in some witchcraft mods too with ranboo!!

wilbur would take mass advantage of bibliocraft and fulfil his dark academiac dreams by living in a nice tudor home in a plains biome with a gigantic library and a pond out back with fairy lights and some wheat fields. but underground he would have a gigantic lair where he grows sketchy plants he gets from tubbo that’re from other dimensions, and he makes  potions and also collects various crystals and rare ores to sell illegally to other people. 

niki and hannah would build a cottagecore village together with lots of eucalyptus and wisteria logs!! they’d do a lot of exploring to find all the cool biomes so they could collect all the flowers, crops, and trees possible. they would probably have a green house shop at spawn, as well as a cafe/bakery. despite their soft aesthetic, they would actually be two of the richest people on the server, and no one would fuck with them since they had some of the best modded armor and weapons from all of their travelling. 

puffy would really like oceancraft, and also spend a lot of time travelling. she often bunked with niki and hannah, and occasionally with bad and skeppy in their own area. she just hung around spawn mostly and had a simple ocean monument inspired house on the shore, so she could access the sea easily for her distant travels. she would also love getting into the weirder parts of the mods, like the shape shifter mods and would have a massive collection of all the inverntory pets. 

dream, george, and sapnap would band together and make a huge underground lair inside of a mountain that they put no effort into making pretty, but somehow doesn’t look like shit? sapnap would have a room dedicated to all the armor sets he set out to forge, and would have great pride in them. george would like indulging in the food aspects, like harvestcraft and mo’ foods. dream would try dabbling in the prank/security mods and have minor success, aside from the few holes he blew into the mountain and sets of armor he accidentally blew up which sapnap would never let him live down. he’d also probably do a lot of collecting and make various mob farms to get lots of cool loot to sell in spawn. 

tommy would also collect lots of cool stuff, except he wouldn’t actually go out and find the materials for armor, fight mobs, or explore caves, no he would steal it. he commissioned sam to build a gigantic, overly complex and fancy house insisting it has as much detail as possible (im talking chisel mod, carpenters blocks, decocraft, mr crayfish ALL OF IT) but he never actually stays in it bc he prefers the stupid dirt mound he lived in on the first night (mainly bc he doesn’t feel like moving all of his stuff from said dirt mound into his giant mega-mansion and sam refused to do it, no matter how much money tommy offered him). he’d also wreak havoc, yk, stealing and hiding pets, burning houses, destroying crops, setting elaborate traps that don’t work but are just annoying to clean up. despite being chaos incarnate, he’d probably have a big farm and make cool foods and have a bed and breakfast at spawn. 

fundy, sam, ranboo and tubbo would all really like diving into the red stone packs (obvi) like industrialcraft and all those prank/trap mods. they would start up a business to make elaborate redstone machines for people, and would have some of the coolest houses on the smp. they’d live in a huge treehouse colony in a jungle, and they’d have elevators and secret doors and a hidden vault underground. it would look amazing, and they would spend hours working on it, and it ends up being the prettiest build on the server.

ranboo, much like tubbo, wouldn’t live just in the jungle colony. he would also have his own base a couple hundred blocks from tubbo. it wouldn’t be super big or fancy, but he would decorate his house really nicely, and probably base some of the interiors off of other video games or something. he would collect lots of cats and dogs as to all keep him company in his house. he’d have some OP armor and tools, but be really humble about it? he’d like collecting the mob backpacks and have them all on display in his house in the woods. 

bad and skeppy would live in a mesa where they would have a massive modern base where they test airplanes and helicopters n cars n shit. bad would def try to collect a bunch of animals, especially dogs (they would all be named after members of the smp based off of the vibes they give him). skeppy would be one of the richest  bc he keeps all of his rare/expensive items in a hidden vault literally hundreds of thousands of blocks from his base. skeppy would definetly take advantage of the extra blocks and supplies for trolling. 

ant would obviously collect cats, like the ones that you can pick up and they like wrap around your neck? and they have those adorable cat beds and smack you when they’re hungry? yeah he’d have a whole fucking army of them and whenever they’re hungry he’d just unleash them on anyone nearby just to piss them off. he wouldn’t have actually wanted the cats at first, since he thought it was just ironic and lame, but after he tamed his first one he just liked the company. he would build a whole separate house for his cats so that they could stay away from the workspace in his house where he would look into dinosaurs with jurassicraft. 

connor would be a wandering vagabond who collects those cool mob backpacks and keeps all of his stuff inside of them and never settles down because he doesn’t have the money to commission someone to build a house and he’s just too fuckign lazy to build one himself lmaoo he’d end up rooming with tubbo for a while, just because he has multiple homes and has plenty of room spare.

schlatt would elect himself as leader (but not in a dream smp kinda way) he’d tax everyone and use the money to commission like forty vacation homes that he never lives in because he’s never active. he also likes to just fuck around and annoy people by breaking all the windows in their houses and stealing their doors, but no one can do anything about it bc he’s technically they’re leader and he probably somehow got access to creative mode. he definitely abuses his power, but not to a concerning extent. he’d just boost the price to buy land in the shopping district by ten diamonds every month and piss everyone off.

I think the only people who aren't on the smp consistently are Wilbur and Tommy and Techno.

at the moment that's definitely accurate! (well, not entirely, there are lots of people involved in other plotlines who aren't on consistently--niki or quackity don't exactly log on regularly). fwiw, i would also absolutely reblog tommy crit of this nature, lol. he's absolutely one of the worst offenders as far as scheduling and dropped plotlines go, possibly The worst (the other contender being ranboo). but like... there's a difference between logging on just to vibe (totally fine! even from a lore perspective, improv lore is some of the best and it's where tubbo really shines!) and logging on to do a planned and scripted lore stream. (similarly i think it is valid of me to be annoyed at the fact that we still haven't gotten the egg finale even though bad logs on regularly with excellent improv lore that i also love.) and, like, in the past, when wilbur and tubbo tried to do planned and scripted lore, there was no continuation of that story for...... months. it eventually got published As A Fanfic. whose fault that is i don't know or care other than that i am confident it was Not quackity, so i am. leery. of any combinations of [wilbur, ranboo, tubbo] doing lore together. i don't want to get my hopes up for Lore Soon when i've been doing that and getting burned for almost a full year. i will believe it When I See It. i can go back and tag wilbur crit as well if you want lol because i am also sighing at his decisions here but given that the blog i reblogged it from as well as op are wilburians i figured it would be fine w/ wilbur fans who dont have all cc neg filtered.

i'm so invested now, whAT HAPPENED ON THE LIVE? istg if anything bad happened to tommy😭

OKAY YALL SPOILERS BELOW THE CUT I WAS WATCHING MULTIPLE STREAMS  AT ONCE AND I KNOW EVERYTHING IN THE ENTIRE WORLD ALSO SORRY ITS LIKE AN ENTIRE ESSAY IM WORKING THROUGH A LOT OF FEELINGS OKAY

Okay so fundy was like the first to start streaming and basically him, Tubbo, Ranboo, Quackity and some others like Niki played the games in the festival that they made and it was Fun. They also changed  into their Butcher Army outfits. THEN Tommy and techno entered the smp and after some preparation they drank invis potions and snuck around the festival watching them.

The real shit happened when Dream logged on, though. He immediately started building another obsidian wall, and when the butcher army protested he showed them that the community house had been blown up, blaming it on Tommy. Tommy told techno he didn’t do this, and when Dream started telling Tubbo to give him the remaining disc, they both burst in and started defending Tommy. And -god this part hurt so bad- Tommy and tubbo started arguing, like really arguing. Tubbo said that it really was likely that Tommy blew up the community house, and Tommy called Tubbo out on never really supporting him when it mattered, and a lot of harsh words were spoken until Tommy yelled that the discs meant more to him than Tubbo ever did, and that really fucking hurt me okay, also at this point technoblade was Kinda 1v30-ing but everyone was super really focused on all the tea that was spilling so it wasn’t the most Epic Fight.

At this point, Tommy seemed to have a Revelation and realized that he didn’t like the situation he was in, that he was tired of fighting against L’manberg, so he just told tubbo to give Dream the disk. WHICH WAS A BAD IDEA AND TECHNOBLADE KNEW THAT. He told Tommy to think carefully about what he was doing and then Tommy said that we wasn’t going to be on technoblades side anymore and that he was going to fight for L’manberg. Which seems like kinda a stupid move to make on the guy who let you stay in his house when you were alone and vulnerable and also let you steal all his things and also was very rich and has a history of killing you without losing a half of a heart, but hey that’s none of my business.

Tubbo ended up giving Dream the disk, and booyyy did that man pop OFF. He just ripped into Tubbo as soon as he got it, saying he was stupid and naive and the worst president he’s ever seen, saying that that disk was the only thing in the way from him destroying Lmanberg, and he and technoblade just. Immediately teamed up and they’re going to blow up the ENTIRE place at 3pm tomorrow. So I’m scared. 

Technoblade then booked it immediately after that was decided because he just announced plans to plow up an entire country, while surrounded by 30 of that country’s inhabitants who were in full netherite gear. When back at his base, he showed Dream his Many, Many supplies to make withers, (I believe about six), and they started Scheming and then techno went to the tunnels of Lmanburg to retrieve his entire army of dogs (he has SO FUCKING MANY LIKE HOLY SHIT), but the chat fucking SNITCHED and told fundy who went down to stop him. Unfortunately for him, techno is very op and killed him like. So easily. So now Fundy is down to his last cannon life, and all of Lmanburg knew that techno had killed him, so he left in a hurry.

Meanwhile, Tommy and the inhabitants on L’manberg but aside their arguments to prepare because technoblade and dream are insanely good and I think dream is canonically a god and technoblade is very, very wealthy. (I don’t think that L’manberg is gonna win if I’m being honest. Rip.) There was a couple people who might not be fighting for L’manberg, though Snapap said that Dream was one of his best friends and that he couldn’t go against him, but Tommy asked if he could try to convince him otherwise tomorrow. Quackity is now no longer a citizen of Manburg Bc something about ““I can’t commit treason if I’m no longer affiliated with this”, but they they left on friendly terms and well wishes. Niki has some reservations about working with Tommy, but I believe that they convinced her that L’manburg was more important than dealing with him.

And ohoho, Ranboo fucking went through it, man. He couldn’t decide what side he should pick because technoblade and Philza are his friends, but he also has friends in Lmanberg. He decided on protecting Lmanburg because it has more people to save. But THEN something happened (I had internet troubles. Idk exactly what went down), but he was in an obsidian box and Dream was gaslighting him, convinced him that RANBOO was the one to blow up the community house (he has memory problems so this actually Got To Him), saying that he was a traitor and making Ranboo believe in, and then at the end said he wasn’t even REAL and Ranboo thought he was going fucking INSANE and. Wow, his acting man. Hhh. 

ANYWAYS IM SORRY RHIS WAS SO LONG IM STILL PROCESSING BUR IF UR INTERESTED IN BUT HOPEFULLY IT WASNT UNBEARABLE. GODDAMN THIS WAS A WILD RIDE IM STILL SO FUCKING STRESSED AND I MIGHT CRY WHEN LMANBERG BLOWS UP. BECAUSE TECHNOBLADE WILL WIN. I AM ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN OF THIS FACT. ANYWAYS RIP THISE WHO ONLY HAVE ONE LIFE LEFT.

​the turning point with those recaps for me was how the exile arc even prior to tommy making it to techno was covered.

I’ve seen soooo many people defend the lack of detail about what Tommy really went through like “well this is just recap! he couldn’t have just included every little thing!” or even “the themes are too heavy! evan probably wanted to keep a lighter tone!” and while I absolutely cannot talk for what evan’s intentions or reasons behind his creation process was (though I could certainly point to some clear areas of bias as op demonstrates) I still have so many fucking issues here.

it’s absolutely true that these videos are indeed just recaps and therefore can’t include everything— but there is a huge difference between small little details like tommy naming logstedshire after the prime log or tubbo spending his time as President mostly building apiaries and failed teleporters and then HUGE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLICATIONS GETTING BRUSHED OVER AND INACCURATELY SUMMARISED.

And it’s made even worse by what that development and those themes are.

As time passes and more and more people catch up or learn about the dream smp and specifically the exile arc through recaps rather than vods (which is what happens the majority of the time now, hell even new dsmp cc’s catch up using these recaps rather than the vods because admittedly, there are so many vods) this becomes the baseline understanding people will have of these characters and the plot. Which makes it all the more damnable that these recaps never call what happened to tommy abuse, that they never say how dream was manipulating him, and they never ever actually say that tommy was consistently suicidal through out, and that he made an actual attempt at the very end.

A few months ago, one of my friend’s younger brothers (about 13 I think) started talking to me about dream smp lore. I more than happily engaged the kid as he started describing the plot, until he got to talking about tommy’s exile, where he talked about how tommy got exiled for griefing all over the server (not just George’s vacation home) and then later how tommy faked his death to escape. And I immediately fucking knew where these misconceptions stemmed from.

In Evan’s video he begins the exile arc by mentioning how lots of places on the server had been griefed and left with signs that sounded like tommy, leaving the implication that it was tommy who did this griefing— and then he never as far as I know goes back to clarify that, actually, that was done by dream to frame tommy.

And then later, the only thing Evan’s videos really say about the tower in logsted is that “to the average person it looked like tommy was dead, but Dream knew better. Dream suspected that Tommy had faked his death to throw him off.” WHICH. WHAT? We don’t have ANY idea what Dream might’ve ‘suspected’ or not, for all we fucking knew Dream really did think Tommy was dead until he tried to revive the kid and realised it didn’t work because he was still alive! And if you wanna point out that Evan made this recap before the revive book came into play and so didn’t know that could’ve been an option, maybe then, he should’ve actually just recapped the literal lore that happened rather than writing speculative fanfic about what character dream might have or might not have thought!!!! This is just like when later on he claims Dream says “it was never meant to be” as he pushes the button on doomsday which is not only fucking MADE UP it ALSO takes away from the fact the person who says that during doomsday is actually Niki as she burns down the l’mantree!!!!! IM FULL OF SO MUCH RAGE!!!!!

Also just the language here pisses me off, “to the average viewer it looked like tommy was dead” (the ‘average viewer’ being shown in the clip while said being TUBBO BY THE WAY) it’s so fucking obvious how the script is skirting around the issue of actually SAYING it looks like tommy killed himself, or ever even acknowledging that tommy was suicidal. It’s a complete artificial cleansing of the themes in this story, and there are so many issues with it, but here’s the main one I’m gonna gripe about today:

THIS LEADS TO A HUGE SWATH OF THE AUDIENCE BEING UNAWARE OF WHY TOMMY ACTS THE WAY HE DOES AFTER THIS. BEING UNAWARE OF WHY DREAM IS SUCH A REPREHENSIBLE CHARACTER.

They do not have the context that Tommy was an abuse victim, isolated, manipulated, and slowly driven to suicide by Dream; and that doing all of these things was in fact a premeditated attempt at control planned by Dream from the very start of this arc. All they know is ‘dream made tommy drop his items in a hole and destroy them a bunch’ ‘tommy threw a party and nobody came and he felt lonely and sad about it’ ‘tommy thought by the end that dream was his friend’ ‘tommy jumped from a poll to fake his death and escape his exile’, and while most of this isn’t directly wrong it’s just. It feels like the kidz bop version of the story or something. It just cuts out or deeply waters down all of the details of how exactly Tommy was abused, the constant gaslighting and conditioning, the way Dream killed Mexican Dream (then gaslighted Tommy about it) and tried to kill ghostbur. Fucking hell the recap doesn’t even talk about Tommy’s relationship with the nether during his exile, doesn’t talk about the infamous “it’s never my time to die” moment that was extremely viral at the time. Doesn’t mention how Tommy ended up walking around on barely any hearts doing risky reckless parkour and refusing to eat, doesn’t mention how the last few exile streams Tommy consistently brought up making some kind of suicide note or saying final goodbyes. How Dream repeatedly told Tommy nobody cared about him but him. How the stash under logsted Evan likes to imply in the video was Tommy’s secret plan to fight back that was actually gathering a lot of materials and maybe beginning to look up for him is something Tommy actually more so referred to to Ranboo as a place he could collect and leave all his stuff for him to have once he’s ‘gone’ (see: dead).

The way this video tweaks the narrative to say what’s convenient for it without (usually) explicitly lying or contradicting lore (though it does sometimes literally do that) but by leaving things out or leading the audience to make certain assumptions is just… so infuriating. And it is directly responsible for what is likely millions (I’m not exaggerating look at that viewer count) thinking exile wasn’t that bad. That sure, it was sad and Tommy was very lonely and maybe too harsh a punishment, but that 1) Tommy did still deserve a punishment and 2) it wasn’t that bad, it’s not like he was being tortured or anything, he just went on a bit of a ‘depression arc’ because he felt his friends had abandoned him.

But to circle back and address those two main defences from the beginning again. As for the argument that Evan left these details out (so very clearly purposefully skirting around them) because he didn’t want to include such heavy triggering topics in his recap, I think the response is pretty clear by everything I’ve just said. By leaving these heavy, vital details for characters and lore out, even if it wasn’t your intention, you lead to viewers thinking the heavy stuff that actually did go down in the story as not that bad because that’s exactly how you’ve framed it. Because surely right? An average viewer might think. If it was THAT important it would have been mentioned? And additionally, if you don’t want to address triggering topics fundamental to the narrative of a story— then don’t make a fucking recap that pretends to be representative to that story. Because all you’re going to do is misrepresent these delicate subjects and plot points and that’s how we end up with my friend’s 13 year old brother unknowningly word vomiting victim blaming and abuse apologist rhetoric to me on a car ride home.

Secondly, “he can’t include every detail!” I feel like I’ve already gone over how this was less a detail and more fundamental to both the characters of tommy and dream. But moreover, for a recap video that’s literally called ‘exiled’ only about seven of this 45 minute video are actually covering what went down during the exile itself. The first 20mins of set up makes sense and is necessary to why Tommy got exiled that’s fine obviously, but then the rest of the video focuses on Tubbo and also Techno’s??? Pov??? Both of which could’ve been in a separate recap video focusing specifically on the butcher army arc, giving them more time to have their own fleshed out explanation and given the last third of this recap back to actually explaining the beat by beat progression of Tommy’s exile. Because that narrative played out over eleven streams each of which at least some important development or notable event occurred. Why couldn’t Evan have done a whole ‘day 1’ ‘day 2’ ‘day 3’ etc thing where he summarised all lore and character interactions that happened? Y’know, like an actual recap of that arc? Why not mention how on day 1 he and ghostbur set up a base? How on day 3 Tommy woke up drowning? How by day 7 Tommy stopped receiving mail from Ranboo? Just little tiny summaries for each day so a viewer can actually understand the weight of the change? The weight of Tommy looking into lava for first time? Of the chirp music disc? Of the death of mushroom Henry? Of what “I don’t need the nether” actually fucking meant (SPOILER: it was not ‘I don’t need it to get back home or to escape dream’!!!!!!)

Aaaaaaaa I’ve rambled about this for way too long. I haven’t even mentioned how it pisses me off that Evan refuses to acknowledge that Phil and Wilbur are father and son in the canon, or how Fundy also fits into that. Or even like this original post was pointing out, the recap’s clear bias towards Techno. If I don’t stop myself now I’ll just end up writing a thesis lmao. But yeah, at the end of the day these are just recap videos for blockmen lore, I’m aware. But you should always critically consume and analyse the media you ingest no matter how ‘frivolous’ you might think it is. And taking a critical eye especially when such important and delicate topics like abuse and suicide etc are being presented in media, and the inevitable consequences of those topics being misrepresented. Like, for example, thousands of teenagers on the internet insisting over lore discourse that an abuse victim deserved their abuse.

Nocturne Alchemy Ember Vanilla

I can't get my ish together, I swear. I've been meaning to post a review for DAYS but I have so much going on lately I'm behind! Haha. Anyway, I had a request recently, a couple of days back, to do a review of NA's Studio Limited (SL, for future reference - I should make a glossary page) Ember Vanilla, so let's jump right into that. This is one of their most recent Studio Limited releases, and instantly it became a classic. I haven't run across a single person saying, this is not for me. I haven't seen anyone selling theirs, for that matter! That's usually pretty indicative of a fantastic perfume, y'know? I waited a while before I purchased mine. The notes had me worried this might be foodie. Here are the notes from NA's description:  A haunting Vanilla cream with accents of caramel and a sweet kiss of brown sugar, in which we mean, the vanilla is underneath teasing and sweetening the woods of exotic Indian Sandalwood, American Cedar, California Redwood and the haunting decadence of our ICON Egyptian Oudh as part of this blend. A vision of smoked vanilla but only by using the finest of NA SL ingredients. Can be layered with more of any of our SL Sandalwood perfumes, more SL Vanilla, SL Diamond or SL Amethyst. A log fire with vanilla accented in the smoldering wood. At first I thought, oh boy. Caramel and brown sugar. Sigh. I love them, but they really don't love my skin, and foodies generally don't work for me. I should know better by now!  NA are magicians, and what you see isn't always what you get. I read many reviews and nobody seemed to get a foodie vibe from this. I asked a dear friend of mine her opinion and her response? NIKI JUST GET IT. So. I took the plunge needless to say, because she convinced me it was a must have! Right out of the gate, in the bottle, you get a bit of a sweet, carmelized vanilla. Scary for me. But then on further sniffing (huffing like a madwoman, read) the smoke comes out to play. Oh boy. This is AMAZING. GET ON MAH SKIN. Wet on the skin it's much the same as you get from the bottle sniff. So, I back off, give it some time to settle. Whoooaaa. Holy bats. This is sexy. You may remember from my introduction to NA post that my guy hates vanillas. Hates with a passion. Says they stink. This, when it's dry, I find him nuzzling my neck. It's so good! Smoky. Rich. The vanilla has a hint of carmelization, but it's in no way foodie. This is sexy, grown up. The drydown brings out the woods in it more, and they are all melding into something crazy good. This is the magic of NAVA. It's like on drydown their blends kind of flop onto a perfumed pillow of delight. It's very different from OP Pakhet but for me? They're sisters. They are not a typical vanilla. The smoke, the wood in this definitely pairs with the more woody Pakhet, although she's got that base of incense behind her. Also, Ember Vanilla is great straight out of the gate. You don't have to let it age to have it completely become glorious - it's glorious already. However, I've had mine a couple of months, and I can tell you it keeps getting better. It's also delightful layered - try pairing it with Kashmir, for instance. I can't word enough for that description, but my Gods, is that amazing. They're both so rich and interesting alone, but paired they are a killer combination that garners quite a bit of compliments when you step out into the world. How's the staying power, you might ask? I've worn this without showering at night, and the next day I'm still getting wafts of it when I get up. This one is strong with the force, I tell you. Hah. So in conclusion? You should just go ahead and throw your money at Ember Vanilla, I promise, you won't be disappointed.

"Oh, as if you were so careful with yourself earlier!"

Zoro hissed again when Sanji dabbed at a nasty cut at his temple. It's a goddamn miracle that the assailant didn't cut his brains out in battle. Either it's a miracle or dumb luck. Sanji doesn't want to call it skill. Zoro's head was big enough as it is, thank you very much.

It's times like these where Sanji wishes Chopper went with them. Would have been nice to have him here to stitch up the swordsman's wounds in the middle of the damn forest. It also would help if he wasn't squirming so much every time Sanji moves.

"I hate you," Sanji murmurs as he starts the painstaking process of stitching. There's a hand that finds itself a spot on Zoro's head, long slender fingers tangled in green hair, and there's a slight tug of warning on those wayward strands.

"Don't. Fucking. Move."

It must have been the way Sanji's voice went dangerously low. Or the way the hand buried into his hair trembled with his grip. But Zoro stayed still this time, watching from his peripherals how focused the cook was, and his frustration simply melts away. He sighs. Because he understands. No matter how many times they've assured each other that they can take care of themselves, they are two of the most self-sacrificial idiots on the crew.

Zoro would probably be the exact same way.

Eventually, Sanji finishes, clipping the excess thread away, before relaxing his grip on Zoro's hair. But his hand stays there. He plays with the green strands absentmindedly as he examines the cuts on Zoro's face, making sure he didn't miss anything.

"Cook?"

"Hm?" When Sanji finally looks into Zoro's eyes, his breath hitches, and he realizes that their faces are so close together he can feel Zoro's breath against his skin. His face feels warm all of a sudden. "Oh."

Then Zoro's hand reaches up this time, his calloused fingers tracing Sanji's face for injuries that aren't there. And it's gentle. So gentle. Sanji can't breathe. The same hands that have murdered thousands in cold blood caressed Sanji's face like he was worth more than any treasure they could ever find.

"I'm here," Zoro says and he knows that images of a blood soaked Zoro are what flashes through his mind. Sanji's grip tightens again in Zoro's hair. The swordsman presses their foreheads together – warm and familiar and secure.

"Nothing can take me away from you." And Zoro's gaze is piercing. Unwavering. True. "Nothing. Okay?"

He says it with the cadence of a man taking a blood oath for a dead god — loyalty as a form of worship.

And Sanji takes the offering from the swordsman's lips when he leans in to kiss.

So I have a bunch of ideas for long fics because my goal this year is to deliver longer quality fics over short speedy drabbles and one-shots. I have three options that I very much want to make long fics (like ,, 20k - 40k words). I will put the summaries below to help! Two of these are inspired by movies I watched over the holidays where I went "this is so zosan coded."

Fic 1: Three Pirates and a Princess

A baby was mysteriously placed on the doorstep of Ace, Zoro, and Luffy's shared home five years ago. The little girl, who was a result of a one night stand between Ace and Sanji, is now happily being raised by all 4 of them. Throughout the years, Sanji started to fall for Zoro and vice versa but neither have had the courage to face their feelings head-on. When an opportunity arrives for Sanji to further his career in a different country, he is now faced with a conflict between his growing feelings for Zoro and what is truly best for his daughter.

Fic 2: Mr. Prince Diaries

In order to win the hearts of the people in the Kingdom of Kuraigana, Roronoa Zoro must marry a local noble in order to cement his claim to Dracule Mihawk's throne. However, the Vinsmoke family claimed to have the perfect heir to their throne — the third son Sanji. Zoro must juggle between his responsibilities to the people of Kuraigana and his adoptive father and his rapidly growing distaste (and perhaps fondness) for the blonde bastard who wants to take his crown.

Fic 3: Letters to Baratie

Zeff doesn't hear from Sanji often after he left the Baratie to study abroad in Japan. Zeff hasn't ever gotten the hang of cellphones or computers, so his son sends him letters, detailing everything he's done since the last time he wrote. No letter is the same — except for the increasingly growing paragraphs about a certain green-haired swordsman who seemingly drives Sanji up the wall. Until he doesn't.

a zosan multiverse story where in every universe, they find each other. in every universe, one or both of them fall in love. the fates that pull the strings always entangle zoro's with sanji's because it's a game to them. all a game. sometimes they let the strings choke them until their union suffocates them. sometimes the strings wrap around them as naturally as blood flows through their veins. whether it ends in tragedy or bliss, zoro and sanji's fates are intertwined quite literally by fate's design.

but what fate never learns is that zoro and sanji are the harbingers of destruction. they are the storm that you're never prepared for. they'd sooner snatch the pen from fate's hands and write their own story. once they find out a higher power is pulling the strings, the bastards fight tooth and nail to cut them off. they fight for the freedom to end the tale whenever and however they want. they'd kill god if it meant they could be in control of their own destiny for once in their lives.

a multiversal story where they always meet each other. where there is always love in the equation — requited or not. where they live and die by each other's side, from the very first breath to the last. where their biggest antagonist is fate itself. where they look a god of cosmic horror in the eye and says "thanks for always giving me the most important person in my life to treasure for all of whatever eternity means. but fuck you anyway."

because whether or not fate had a hand in their union, there is always one thing that's never going to change.

it's that sanji and zoro will never let someone else define who they are to each other.
