Here is why You should ship Vigilance x Diamond (Diamance)

1. Toxic Yuri

These two are at war with each other so naturally they hate each other but both are drawn to each other since they both know the stresses of being a queen. This is what drew them together plus the begrudging respect on how both of them are able to one up each other in war. When one side gains the upper hand the other comes up with a strategy to turn the tides back in their favor. This builds respect but also anger and resentment since they are losing dragons.

2. The Drama

Since they are at war with each other how will they grapple with the fact they have feelings for their enemy? They would have to keep their feelings a secret between them or else a massive Royal scandal will occur. They will kill any dragon including advisors if they even think they are starting to grow suspicious. So they send letters mad at the loss of advisors or dragons fallen in war and how their army will reach their kingdom and tear it down but beneath the anger is a sense of longing and how they will be the one to deal the final blow to other and how the winner will hold the loser and look them in the eyes as the life fades form their eyes.

3. How will it end?

How will they end up? Will one finally manage to kill the other leaving nothing behind a feeling of triumph overshadowed by loss and longing? Will they both kill each other in battle with both of them finally being able to embrace each other as their lives come to an end? Will it be an enemies to lovers story to do what Arctic and Foeslayer couldn't? Or will it end like it did in canon the Nighwings leaving and both Queens feeling and immense longing and rage at the fact they weren't able to finish the job? Idk and honestly that is up to you to explore.

In conclusion

The sheer amount of potential this ship has is massive in the ways how the characters will react to their feelings, how they express them or if they try to hide it how their facade falters, and how their story will end. The possibilities and scenarios these ships have is immense and it's why you should ship Diamond x Vigilance.

Starting off the new year with I think the most background heavy piece I've ever made! I think Rainwings and Nightwings would celebrate their traditional holidays together after the events of The brightest night. So this drawing is meant to show their cultures kind of blending together during a very joyful time. I remember talking about this concept with someone on tumblr a year ago but when I went back through my posts I couldn't for the life of me find it - so if your reading this, I remember you and this drawing stems from that conversation so thank you!

ikik its not dca butttt i was looking in some of my art books and found a old art of one of my oc i made in middle school so i wanted to draw her

meet oshi (o-shy) a wof (wings of fire) oc i made back in middle school

basic lore:

shes a sea night wing, she has cannibal tendencies, and she was born on one of the 3 full moons so she has the ability to see future attacks, she has a purple flam that is part of her family magic thing (forgot what its called lol), however shes a poor flyer dew to a wing injury that she got when she was a pup and shes a slow runner dew to her heavy tall

I like your WoF headcanons but do you have any more unique ones cause I wanna know. Cause I like to think scavengers can learn magic but they reason many don't because when learning it it warps the body. That pre-scorching scavengers were somewhere in the industrial age because in the Guidebook during the scorching legend it said before the scorching scavengers filled the skies with smoke implying coal burning (or that's how I interpreted it).

I also like to headcanon more weather events like Tornados and the occasional hurricane taking place. Also that there are animals that we would consider extinct still being alive like mammoths, saber tooth tigers, and other extinct animals. I am trying to think of some religion for the tribes but the only thing I got rn is the Nighwings who see moonless nights as bad and evil as the moons aren't there to keep evil spirits away and when all three moons are dark their powers don't work for that time.

I love the headcanons about scavengers and the pre-Scorching time. Scavengers are so underrated by fans. There are so many ways they could be used in an interesting way in a story, even if it's mostly about dragons.

My personal favorite headcanon with scavengers is that they are the creators of dragons using animus magic. They literally live in a world where there are no creatures even similar to dragons, except for reptiles, which are the same as in our world. In general, I thought about this topic very deeply and it is worthy of a separate analysis.

I can think of a few characters that i think would be certain dragons (note: its been a while since i read wof, i dont think ive read the latest book to come out, and im just remembering the dragons abilities off memory)

Shen qingqiu - Leafwing (bc hes green & hes leaf trick)

Binghe - nightwing (i think all the heavenly demons would be nightwings, mainly bc of now nightwings wee portrayed and the fact that its mentioned that all 3 heavely demons wear black) actually im coming back as im wring sqhs and says nighwing skywing hybrid maybe (this would make sxy a skywing. )

Mobei-jun - icewing (no explantion needed. I think ge was the first one i though of when i came up with this a few minuets ago)

Shang qinghua - sandwing (idk. Paralell to mbj ig. Also maybe a pun with him being a traitor and sw having scorpian tails. Idk why but to me it works quute well) (either sandwing or seawing) (yeah seawing works quite well as their only ability is to breathe underwater. And to light up to communicate underwater. In a secret language) (could be a hybrid of the two) sandwing/seawing

Tianlang-jun - nightwing (i think a way to explain the blood parasites would for them to be an animus curse(or well blessing ig) )

Zhuzhi lang - nightwing×rainwing hybrid (i originally was gonna say leafwing instead of rw but then i remembered that rw are serpentine and have venom)

Lpm&opm - hivewings (the huahuan lady and her dad. Just thought of this one as i was thinking about what other characters would work. This just works for some reason)

Su xiyan - skywing (im not really sure tbh. Skywing is just the one i thought of)

Sha hualing - ? (Idk skywing, hivewing or sandwing are my only guesses)

Yue qingyuan - mudwing (i was thinking about the other dragons sepcies when i realised that yqy fits being a mw quite well. Also in a tragic way! Cuz of the whole bigwing thing)

Ning yingying - silkwing (?maybe. im running out of ideas. Sw also works with lmy so...)

Liu mingyan - silkwing (this works well)

Gongyi xiao - hivewing×skywing (due to him looking similar/giving of the same vibes a binghe i think he would be half whatever half binghe is)

Liu qingge - silkwing (same as lmy)

List of wof dragons:

Continent 1- Sandwing, Icewing, Nightwing, Skywing, Rainwing, Seawing, Mudwing

Continent 2- Leafwing, Hivewing, Silkwing

I dont think im missing any dragon species out.

I dont think there would be any prohetic nightwings out of the main cast. If there were then i doubt any of the story would happen

They could be flamesilk silkwings (basically a silkwing that can produce silk thats on fire. I think. Its been a while)

Idk what would divide the humans (now dragons and the demons (also now dragons) in this au. You could say that its a couple of the species (nightwings, icewing, and whatever the other dragons are) vs the other species but it doesnt really work. So maybe its just two factions fighting each other, similar to the sandwing sucession.

Just realised that jade mountain exists. Which has a variety of dragon species. So maybe the cang qiong sect takes its place.

Maybe zzl rainwing side is from a clan of rainwings that were cursed with animus magic to explain his snake form?

Got inspired by a bunch of amphibians on a lecture and I finally came up with the designs for the rest of Goldstone and Amethyst's siblings + an ancient Seawing cryptid that can turn ocean water into blood or something.

Icons and creatures they're based on:

Drizzle - moorfrog (she's a blend between female and breeding season male colors btw) Noctiluca - Noctiluca scintillans, a protist that can make water glow but also they're the causes of toxic algae blooms than can turn water red Viridian - european green toad Tarn - alpine newt

Jade Winglet designs!!!

Moon - She is softer and rounder in her youth. Healthier scales, generally better well being (not mentally obviously). But I did want to give her a piece of Morrowseer so I have her black eyes, especially since its a very underrated eye color in NightWing designs.

Kinkajou - She deserves to be here because she had such a big impact in the workings of arc despite not having her own book. She's such a little gremlin so I can foresee her always bareing a toothy grin. Also about her scales....yellow, pink and blue...surely this isn't hinting at something about her. Surely not her sexuality.

Winter - My beloved porcupine boy. IceWings raised royal all have a more prickly appearance to them with their scales seeminly painted. But given his experiences and new life outside the Ice Queendom. He's grown quite brighter in color - making him far from his families's appearances - and now armed with a more solemn smile.

Peril - I know tui said that there wasn't any RainWing in her blood....but i ignored that on purpose. Like rainwings, Peril has their bright gecko eyes and scales encasing her eyes. She is definitely the brightest dragon of all time with her colors always shifting under the sunlight and her horns and spines looking like lava rocks.

Turtle - He's supposed to be the size of Moon and Kinkajou, just He's just surrounded by behemoths. Like his oldest sister, Turtle is the shortest in the gang on account of his stubby SeaWing legs. He has the royal nose and has the famlly body to show it off with him being notebly curvey and rounded. His facial stripes are supposed to mimic turtle scutes.

Qibli - Don't let his charming demeanor fool you. He's terrified and speaking gibberish. A head canon of mine is that tribes like RainWings and SandWings have black blood, explaining why his scar is as dark as it is. Also SandWings have frills that can be moved, the reason they have this is to cool themselves down. But upperclass SandWings clip them off as to show their privilege of not needing them.
