Sexypink - Capturing the enormity of loss and survival is a topic with which many have grappled. Maya Cross Lovelace ‘s foray into this arena , revealing her innermost self is a show of particular strength and contemplation.

Sexypink - Maya Cross Lovelaces’s works are torn from drawing books, ephemeral in nature and placed with tiny clips, further expressing the idea of the impossibility of pinning down grief.

Sexypink - Her palette can represent all times of day, from palest yellow, through pinks to deepest blue. Cross-Lovelace’s symbolism auger questions of who are we? What are we? Do we transcend time and space? She carefully applied the tiniest spray of dots and play of color washes to carry these unanswerable emotional messages.
