I had ordered the @ns1pen, a ballpoint pen designed by artist @nicolasvsanchez, some days back. The pen arrived on Monday. It has three different point sizes — 0.5 mm, 0.7 mm and 1 mm, for different types of shading. . It's been years since I used a pen with multiple points, reminds me of school days when you used to get those pens with black, blue and red tips! Here is the first sketch done with the NS1 pen — one of "Alita: Battle Angel", drawn on A6 Brustro sketchbook. I'll be scanning it and posting it along with my review (the movie was very good) on @dailymoviesketch shortly. . It was an interesting experience using the pen, I need to get used to it, will draw more with it. I tested out my new ballpoint pens yesterday. They are cheap Amazon Basics pens and they worked great! They felt pretty smooth and didn’t glob up as much as other pens.

I started with a really light orange color then went over it in brown. I added some blue to the eyes and red to the lips and cheeks. I darkened a few areas with black. I used these colors:



I bought the set that came with two of every color. These are the colors:

They are $10.94 on Amazon now in 2022.

I was trying to draw like nicolasvsanchez on Instagram. His ballpoint pen artwork is amazing! I need a lot more practice to get to that level.

Inspired by the ballpoint drawings of @nicolasvsanchez and @dinabrodsky Drawings of oranges done with a #bicpen multicolored pen on a #moleskinesketchbook I started off with an underlayer of black value study and then laid in the local colors of the oranges and their leaves. Since I'm dealing with only four colors of black, blue, red and green, it was not possible to get the orange color.
