idk exactly how the system works but
does nico di angelo have citizenship documents? like
does he exist? legally? because public record would show him dying in the explosion that took maria right, and same for bianca
and the rest of the time, he was either:
a) at camp b) on the run / traipsing in the labyrinth c) in the underworld / missions from hades
and MIGHT have ended up in a mortal hospital or some other similar thing where he had to fake credentials with the mist -- but there's still mortals who can see through that? and even then it's an unlikely event
and I know we make fun of wondering if he's up to date on all his vaccinations and all. but. does this guy even have a birth certificate on file with the ministry?
no because he must right. like he and bianca went to a whole military-? private school and everything. there's no way they would let that go, right? RIGHT?
-I feel like I should mention this: the reason I'm thinking about this now is bc of those post-canon fics where solangelo settle down with jobs in the mortal world, esp bc I want to write one of those too bc I have lots of ideas for them - but LOGISTICS OML
If nico doesn't. Legally exist I'm going to have to work in an entire arc about that - either angst or crack - bc it's just too good to pass up

The Di Angelo Siblings: A Cold Case
One early unsolved case that confuses people to this day is the case of the Di Angelo siblings, Nico and Bianca Di Angelo.
They were born in Italy to Maria Di Angelo, Bianca in 1926 and Nico in 1928. Soon after their births, the family of three packed up and moved to Washington, D.C., where, according to friends and neighbors, they lived happily without trouble. Records show that the children were healthy and did well in school, living peaceful lives. People also state that the siblings never knew who their father was, but didn’t seem to mind much, or perhaps they were too young to care. Nevertheless, they grew up untroubled.
However, disaster struck when World War Two broke out in 1938, when the small family left for what was meant to be a short trip. According to an anonymous source, Maria had allegedly been planning to meet with the father of her children, though there’s no way to confirm nor deny that this is what she had planned, nor if the meeting had ever even occurred, for soon after, the hotel they were staying at suffered a severe explosion.
Allegedly due to a gas leak, the blast caused many fatalities, including to the Di Angelos; Maria’s remains were found blown apart amidst the rubble.
What makes this case so bizarre is this: Bianca and Nico’s bodies have never been located. In fact, it’s possible they hadn’t been caught in the accident at all—eyewitnesses claim seeing children matching Nico and Bianca’s descriptions being led away by a man in a business suit. The two siblings seemed “completely unharmed” and “eerily at ease”, as if they hadn’t even known about the explosion. Several reported sightings follow the Di Angelo’s path state-by-state, in Indiana, Missouri, Colorado, Utah, and finally down to Las Vegas, Nevada, where the siblings suddenly disappear. Investigators have been left puzzled by this case for decades, trying their best to figure out who the man must be, why the children were with him, why they were unharmed.
Some theories suggest that the man was, in fact, the biological father of the children, and he had taken his son and daughter from their mother before the explosion occurred. This may be a plausible explanation, but it raises questions on why Maria wasn’t with them, or why this man—who had been seemingly absent from their lives for ten years—had arrived at the hotel just to take his children halfway across the country. Internet users theorize that he may have kidnapped the children, and Maria was going to report them missing if she hadn’t died in the gas leak.
Further complicating this case is the fact that there’s zero evidence of either sibling ever being in Vegas. Their medical and academic records stopped being updated from when the short trip began, and the siblings never legally appeared anywhere after that, not in Nevada or in Washington.
With no reliable leads, investigators have declared this a cold case, and the Di Angelos were declared legally dead in 1952, more than fourteen years after their disappearance. The case was closed, and people stopped looking into it.
However, starting a few years ago, users have discovered that there have been reported sightings of the siblings. Though the children would be well into their eighties by now if they’d even survived, these sightings claim that Nico and Bianca look like they haven’t aged a day.
These claims would be preposterous if the children didn’t allegedly have the exact names as Nico and Bianca Di Angelo, and they’re allegedly the same age. Conspiracy theorists have a multitude of explanations for this, from the Bermuda Triangle and Greco-Roman myths of Lotus flowers, to space missions and time-warping science experiments performed on the children, but none of these should be considered as evidence for obvious reasons.
Internet sleuths have discovered that these alleged clones of the Di Angelos were enrolled in Westover Hall, a military school in Bar Harbor, Maine, though they disappeared from school records after December. More reported sightings of the Di Angelos, specifically Nico, have been reported, but authorities dismiss these as fabricated nonsense claims designed to confuse and scare the general population.
Up Next: The mysterious death of Jason Grace—a boy missing for fourteen years.

Writing Prompt: Nico Visiting Elysium
SPOILERS FOR THE BURNING MAZE AND THE TOWER OF NERO
The walk to Elysium was one that Nico was familiar with. Some days his feet would bring him there subconsciously, hoping to one day find his sister among the souls that resided there.
That day hadn’t come yet. But the heroes that were there were familiar with his presence, they weren’t bothered by the shadows beneath his feet, the tendrils that clung to his wrists, and winded themselves around his sword handle, ready to shoot out at his command. They didn’t blink an eye at the bags under his eyes, no matter how much sleep he got. When you’re a spirit constantly surrounded by death, you forget what life looks like. The same went for Nico.
It had been a while since he’d been to the Underworld to see his father and step mother, but the way the rubble crunched beneath his feet was almost comforting. He knew where the dips in the hill were, where to avoid the holes and minor chasms.
The environment and atmosphere of the Underworld began to shift the closer he got to Elysium.
Nico’s eyes adjusted to the brightness of Elysium, and the glittering blue lake where The Isles of the Blest resided. He shouldn’t have been able to enter through the gates, but being a child of the Underworld had its perks. The gates opened at Nico’s touch and Nico was greeted with the beautiful view of Elysium. For a home made for the dead, the place exuded a significant amount of life and light, yet it lacked the warmth real life did. It was beautiful in the way jewels were beautiful, sparkly and well-cared for, but not the way flowers were, in their life and their aliveness.
The trek to the pavilion where he usually met with spirits was hard, it didn’t get easier to see the spirits of heroes Nico had watched or felt die in battles he had also fought in. Every time he saw the familiar gleam of Hunter-silver he had to hold back a flinch. The flowers of Elysium were of gold and silver and Nico had come to the realisation that they were the only plants that didn’t wilt in his presence, it left him feeling an odd sense of pride as he picked one from the ground and placed it in his pocket for later. There was no breeze down here, yet the grass rippled in colours of the rainbow as spirits passed through, wanting to see why the child of Hades was present. Small voices called out to him beyond the gates, wanting to feed on his light, and his life but he pulled up a barrier in his mind, imagining a fortress to protect himself.
He stood in the middle of the pavilion and held out his hand. He wouldn’t need food to summon who he needed to speak to, he knew that they’d come.
“Jason Grace.”
His voice came out stronger than he thought it would. But he still wasn’t mentally prepared enough for the shape of Jason to appear so easily. He knew that Jason had died in his school uniform, but someone had taken the liberty to put him in a purple Camp Jupiter shirt, despite this, the colour was pale, as if all the colour had been bleached out.
Nico caught himself against a pillar as Jason’s form materialised by Nico’s feet. Jason was kneeling as if he was praying, head bowed and arms out trying to hold himself up.
“Jason?” Nico repeated.
The silvery outline of Jason seemed to grow brighter, before he rose to his full height. Nico tried not to stare, but it was difficult not to notice the gaping holes in his chest that glowed with silver through the purple shirt.
“Nico?”
When he was little, Nico had been taught by his mother and by Bianca that eye contact was important, it was rude if you didn’t meet people’s eyes when you were speaking to them. But over the years he had also learnt that in order to meet people’s eyes constantly, he needed to be prepared for other people to look into his eyes, allow them to see that vulnerability that he knew he showed.
Nico forced himself not to avert his eyes as Jason looked at him astounded, his wire framed glasses still sat atop his nose but Nico could no longer see his reflection in them. Everything about him looked the same, his voice too.
“Hi Jason,” Nico breathed, blinking hard. It was getting significantly harder to remain standing as Jason watched him. It had only been a couple of months since- but Nico hadn’t been able to bring himself to come down and search for him. It was a pain that reminded him all too much of the time when he'd just found out he was a demigod and his world had turned upside down.
“You’re angry with me,” Jason said, a small smile growing on his mouth. Nico let out a choked laugh and shook his head.
“I’m learning that grudges do me no good, especially against...especially against the dead,” Nico admitted. He waited for Jason’s form to blur into a corporeal version, but he remained in a hazy silvery state, like Nico was in the middle of an Iris message with him and Nico guessed perhaps they were; except instead of being miles apart and trying to communicate, it was the absence of Jason’s life and the existence of Nico’s that enabled them to talk despite Jason’s body being buried at Camp Jupiter.
“I always thought I wasn’t scared of death…when you’re a demigod of a prophecy you learn to be, and then Leo died, and I knew. I knew that whatever happened I had nothing to be scared of because he’d be here for me…”
“And then he wasn’t,” Nico filled in. Jason nodded, looking beyond the pavilion at the Isles of the Blest.
“I knew that he wouldn’t be here...yet, I don’t know, maybe it’s selfish to wish that I wasn’t alone-”
“It’s not,” Nico said firmly, standing up straighter to meet Jason’s gaze. With a sharp intake of breath he realised that he had slightly grown since he’d last seen Jason, and now he’d be immortalised at this height.
Jason seemed to notice at the same time, losing his train of thought as he looked down at Nico.
“You’ve grown taller,” he said fondly. Jason reached out almost as if he went to pet Nico’s head, but his hand passed through Nico, leaving him with a brain freeze. Jason noticeably winced and muttered an apology. The pain in Nico’s stomach was second to the odd feeling of familiarity. It had been many years since Nico had had an older sibling, and only recently had he become one again, yet Jason, in their small time period of knowing each other had grown closer than Nico would have thought. It was a nice thought, to think he had someone else watching over him, even if it was beyond the life he was currently living. Nico found himself thinking about Bianca again, the way he always did when he felt lost.
“I saw your plans for the temples,” Nico managed. He gripped the hilt of his sword, using it to ground him as his emotions began to unfurl, curling around him like a dark cloud.
“Apollo kept his promise?”
“He was adamant in doing so.”
Jason smiled, and it made him look younger, bringing a light to his face that should’ve been hard to achieve in the Underworld but he made it look easy.
“Will you try for the Isles?” Nico asked, and though he tried not to, fear laced his words as he watched Jason look at the island in question, a wistful look upon his features.
“Maybe…” Fear, as hot as lightning struck Nico in the chest, and he thought he was about to say goodbye to another demigod he had looked up to.
“But not yet. There are heroes here. Heroes that I fought with during the titan war, one’s I didn’t know the name of, same with the giant war. I think it’s time that I learned them.”
"Jason?"
"Yeah?"
"Are you still scared?" Absentmindedly Nico placed his hand in his pocket where he kept a small token of luck, the familiar groove in the old mythomagic toy bringing him a bittersweet comfort.
Jason tilted his head to the side for a moment, thinking before he shook his head.
"Not anymore, no."
As he spoke, his light began to flicker, becoming more of a mirage than anything. Nico poured his power into him, praying to his father for more time. He had so much more to say, messages to pass on, and- he just wanted more time.
“Piper she-”
“Is she happy?” Jason asked, interrupting. Nico thought of Piper with her girlfriend, and the life she was building outside of Camp Half Blood and nodded slowly.
“And Leo?” He continued. This time Nico thought about Leo’s easy laugh and his constant energy, bouncing off the walls, and his smiles around Calypso.
“Yeah he’s happy but-”
“And Reyna? Percy and Annabeth? Frank? Hazel? Are they all happy? Right at this moment?” The question almost took Nico by surprise but he wasn’t lying when he said his answer.
“Yes.” Images of the other demigods, speaking via Iris message, and on visits to each other's camps flashed in Nico’s head. Reyna and her pledge to the Hunters echoed in his head, an almost mirror to Bianca and Thalias. The pictures Annabeth and Percy had sent to Chiron when they had arrived at college, pinned on the board in The Big House. Then of his little sister with her purple cape, matching Franks.
“They’re happy,” he repeated, more sure of himself when he said it. Jason seemed to relax.
“And Thalia?” he asked softly.
“She’ll be okay,” he replied honestly.
“I never wanted to leave her.”
“She knows.”
“What about you, Nico? Are you happy?”
The question jarred Nico and he hesitated to answer, thinking hard about it. He thought about the haze he had been in right after Jason’s death. The nightmares that had resurfaced, the voices that called to him from beneath the ground.
“I want to be.” It was the closest to the truth he could get. Will’s face flashed behind Nico’s closed eyelids, and unconsciously Nico smiled and nodded with more certainty.
Jason smiled again.
“Then I’ll be okay.”

like a lighthouse in a storm
Nico comes out to Percy and Annabeth (OR how that scene should have gone...)
read on ao3
“Hey!” Nico shouted, jogging toward them.
Percy tore his eyes away from Annabeth. His smile was a little crooked, as always. He’d told Nico once that it was what got him detention and an assigned seat in the front row of class. He had a troublemaker’s smile. Nico had never understood that assessment. All he felt when Percy smiled at him was warmth, and maybe a little bit of dread—not because he thought Percy was going to disrupt class or steal something off a shelf, but because he didn’t know how to deal with the warmth. He realized with a start that he didn’t feel that this time. The dread was gone.
“Hey,” Percy answered. “Annabeth just told me some great news. We’re going to do junior and senior year in the city together. Then we’re going to go to college in New Rome...” He trailed off and his smile turned apologetic. “Sorry, I’m just excited.”
He grabbed Annabeth’s hand and squeezed it. His eyes were bright. So were hers. Seeing them like that used to be enough to set Nico off, slipping into the shadows to sulk. Now, he was more happy for them than anything else. They’d been different since Tartarus. Nico wasn’t sure if the others on the Argo II had noticed, but he had. Maybe it was because he’d known them long before the rest of the seven came into their lives. Or maybe it was because he’d been down there as well. He recognized their pain because he felt it too.
They deserved a boring end to high school and peace in New Rome.
“That sounds awesome,” Nico said. “I’m really happy for you guys.”
“Thanks, man,” Percy replied easily, leaning his head onto Annabeth’s shoulder.
She didn’t look as relaxed as Percy. Her eyes, as analyzing and critical as ever, hadn’t left Nico since he walked over to them. He used to hate her for that more than he’d ever hated her for being with Percy. If anyone could have figured out his secret (on their own, without the help of freaking Cupid), it would have been her.
“Is everything okay, Nico?” she asked.
Percy’s head snapped upright, concern flooding his features. He looked over Nico as if searching for an injury. Nico wished it was that simple. He contemplated faking one, but he knew Will Solace was no more than twenty yards away. That kid was so annoying. He’d probably insist Nico stay in the infirmary for a week instead of three days. Nico hated that the thought of more time with him was a little bit exciting.
“Yeah, I just—“ He nudged the toe of his shoe into the grass. The blades started turning black, crumbling beneath his touch. “There’s something I wanted to tell you guys. It’s really not a big deal, though, so if you’re too busy—“
“‘Course not,” Percy said immediately.
Annabeth nodded in agreement.
Nico’s heart started pounding—too hard, too fast. He sort of felt like he was dying, but he knew he wasn’t. Perks of being prince of the dead.
“I’m gay,” he said, staring down at the wilting grass. The word was a little foreign out loud, heavy. “I know we just fought the earth, and you guys fought a lot of giants, so it’s not that important but I just—“ His hands were shaking so he shoved them into the pockets of his black jeans. “I wanted to tell you guys.”
Percy sprang to his feet. “Dude!”
Nico flinched, but Percy was grinning. He looked almost as happy as he’d looked about moving to New Rome with Annabeth. Nico didn’t really understand it because half the time he wasn’t sure if Percy even liked him. Nico wasn’t always good to him. He’d blamed Percy for Bianca’s death for a year, led him straight into his dad’s prison, pretended he hadn’t recognized him at Camp Jupiter.
But for every moment like that, there were nice moments as well. Percy had rescued him and Bianca after all, he’d invited Nico in through his window on his 15th birthday, sat by him at the bonfire in the weeks following the Battle of Manhattan. He'd always been there for him, or tried to be, even when Nico pushed him away.
Maybe, he’d had a friend all along and had been too caught up in his own head to notice.
“Can I hug you right now?” Percy asked. “I know you’re not into the whole touching thing, but—“
Nico darted forward, wrapping his arms around Percy’s waist. A little oomph sound fell out of Percy’s mouth on impact.
“You’re not as scrawny as you look,” he said.
Nico tried to laugh, but it stuck in his throat. He pulled away, wiping at his eyes.
“Sorry,” he whispered. “I was really nervous.”
Percy’s face softened. He pulled Nico back in for another hug, and then Annabeth was there too, her chin hooked over Nico’s shoulder. It was surprisingly nice. The last person who’d hugged him for this long had been Bianca. He felt just as safe between Percy and Annabeth as he used to in his sister’s arms. He started entertaining the thought of maybe staying just like that forever, when he realized they were still in the middle of the quad—where the whole world could see. Then, he felt like he might die from sheer embarrassment.
“Okay,” he said, squirming until they both let go. “That’s enough of that for three lifetimes.”
Percy laughed. Annabeth ruffled Nico’s hair playfully.
Nico had been unfair to her. She had always been kind to him, probably could have been another friend of his if he’d let her. Maybe they could start now.
“I used to be, um.” He let his eyes dart over to Percy for a moment, before looking back at Annabeth. “I used to be really jealous of you.”
She smiled, following his gaze to Percy, who just looked sort of confused. For all his wisdom on a battlefield, he’d always been frustratingly oblivious about this sort of thing. Nico was pretty sure there had been one summer when he, Annabeth, and Rachel Dare were all practically head over heels for the guy. And he’d just lopped around the Labyrinth without a clue—like an overgrown, two-legged labrador retriever.
“You’ve got good taste, Di Angelo,” Annabeth said.
She held up her hand. Nico hesitated for a moment before high-fiving it.
Percy’s cheeks had turned scarlet. “Um. If you’re saying what I think you’re saying... I’m flattered.”
Annabeth laughed and hit his arm lightly. She leaned in conspiratorially toward Nico, pitching her voice lower. “Or maybe we both have really, really awful taste.”
“Hey!” Percy complained.
Nico bit his lip to stop himself from smiling because it was starting to make his cheeks hurt again.
“And since we have similar taste,” Annabeth continued. “There’s this one guy who I’ve always thought was cute.”
Percy frowned, turning toward her. “Who?”
Annabeth’s eyes focused somewhere over Nico’s shoulder for a moment. “I mean, he’s a little young for me—“
“And you already have an amazing boyfriend who—“
Annabeth covered Percy’s mouth with her hand. “But, he’s super sweet and brave. Tougher than he looks. Saved my life once.”
Percy mumbled something against Annabeth’s hand that sounded like ‘who is this guy?’.
“Unfortunately, I don’t think I’m his type.”
Annabeth took her hand off Percy’s mouth. His nose was scrunched up like he didn’t understand how Annabeth could not be anyone’s type. Then, it seemed to click. He grinned at Annabeth, then at Nico.
Nico shifted uncomfortably. “Who—who is it?”
Annabeth looked over his shoulder again. “Will.”
Percy’s eyes widened and his mouth dropped open as he turned to her. “Solace?”
She nodded and a mischievous glint appeared in Percy’s eyes that made Nico sort of understand the troublemaker thing. Then he realized that the same glint was mirrored in Annabeth’s and he understood their dynamic a whole lot better.
“He is cute!” Percy exclaimed. “So cute!”
“And he’s been watching us this whole time,” Annabeth pointed out.
Percy rubbed his hands together. “Has he?”
“Well, maybe not us.” Annabeth’s eyes flicked to Nico. “Maybe just Nico.”
“Guys—“ Nico said. “It’s not like that. He just wants my help in the infirmary.”
“Ooooh,” Percy drew out the word and waggled his eyebrows. “He wants your help in the infirmary.”
Nico’s cheeks felt hot. They were probably as red as Percy’s had been a few minutes before.
“I don’t know what that means,” he muttered.
The two of them exchanged grins—evil grins, that’s what they were.
“So,” Annabeth prompted. “What do you think of him?”
His cheeks felt even hotter somehow. He ducked his head so they wouldn’t see, but it was probably too late.
“I—uh,” he spluttered. “Um.”
The mischievous glints intensified tenfold, the evil grins widened.
Percy glanced at Annabeth. “That means he likes him, right?”
She nodded.
“I’m getting better at this,” he said.
Annabeth shared a knowing look with Nico that said no, he definitely isn’t.
“I think I’m going to talk to him,” Percy said, drifting in that direction.
Nico stared at him in horror. “What? What are you going to say?”
He shrugged. “Just how cool and badass my friend is. You know, reuniting the Roman and Greek camps, battling giants, surviving Tartarus and a jar, wielding that staff of Die—whatever.”
“Diocletian,” Annabeth supplied.
Percy pointed at her. “That’s the one. Yeah, I’m definitely going to talk to him.”
“Percy,” Nico tried. “Don’t.”
He took off without another word, jogging up the hill. Nico followed at his heels, shouting for him to stop. He didn’t really mean it though and based on the way Percy kept grinning over his shoulder, he could tell.
Nico was running into what would probably shape up to be the most embarrassing moment of his life, but somehow each step he took felt lighter than the last.

Hc of jason and nico meeting pre HoO?
thank you for asking this. i hope you wanted something really long, because not only is this really long but it’s also only half coherent.
jason was freshly eleven when he met the ten-year-old nico di angelo. it was early in the morning when he'd heard a centurion of the third cohort mention a disturbance in the forest. it wasn't exactly eavesdropping, he swears. he was just passing by them, when he knew he should've been asleep.
years later, he didn't know why exactly he did it, but he supposed he was young. he wanted to prove himself.
or maybe more accurately, he wanted to break his unearned reputation of being a golden boy. what better way to do that then to do something he wasn't supposed to?
being the dumbass kid he was, he went out alone to the forest, bringing his sword and nothing else. he didn't know what to expect but when he saw a black mass in the forest, sucking up the light like death itself, he was expecting a monster.
then the mass turned around, eyes afraid and hands shaking as they gripped a long black sword. and jason saw that he was just a kid.
before jason could do anything, the boy turned away and disappeared into shadows. freaking out about whether or not he'd just seen a ghost, he ran into the barracks and told the first person he saw. whispers go around fast, and by that afternoon jason hears the theories of who he saw in the forest— a son of pluto.
jason convinces the senate not to send patrols to look for the boy. "You didn't see him, he looked so scared." he'd say. "A patrol would scare him away! I'll look for him myself, every day, I promise!"
he keeps the promise, even when the boy doesn't show up for weeks after that. he keeps it because he knows what it's like to be left confused and alone, forced to fight things you didn't know were real. and he knows it's normal, he knows that's just what happens to demigods, but it doesn't change how much he remembered wanting someone to save him.
he sees the boy again weeks later. and before the boy can run away again he yells after him, "We know what you are!"
the boy freezes, and it looks like jason made it even worse but at least he bought himself time. "No, I mean— you're a demigod right? I am too, we all are here."
jason smiles at him, "do you want me to show you in?"
(actual headcanons following)
jason decides this guy, who's name is nico di angelo, is his best friend now. before bringing him into camp, he felt weird about possibly having another child of the big three around. but when nico confirms the fact three days later, all jason feels is relief.
nico bunks next to jason in the fifth cohort but says he can't pick one to join. he says it's because he can't stay for long, and jason asks why but nico doesn't give him a straight answer. so instead, he takes nico shopping for bedsheets. jason wants to make sure the bunk nico's claimed as his stays his, even when he's gone.
the reputation they build for themselves is incredible. as the only kids of the big three in camp, they're powerful separated but unstoppable together. (this proves for fantastic entertainment when they spar, and a very tough fight for whoever they're going up against if they're a team.)
it's also a worthy mention that not only do they become more powerful when they're fighting together, when they're off the battlegrounds they also get a whole lot stupider. they've got wild spirits, and though they reign it in when they're on their own, they cause shitstorms of trouble when they're together.
(more under the cut)
nico's gone for weeks at a time but every time he comes back jason never gets less excited. he greets him when he arrives and waves him off when he leaves again. that becomes the norm soon— whenever nico's here, you can find jason right next to him.
the senate said nico couldn't stay unless he picked a cohort, and if he picked a cohort he couldn't leave. when he one day comes back with a report from pluto himself explaining why nico has to come and go sometimes, they find a way for him to stay. (they won't hesitate to admit the boy's grown on the community. they wouldn't wanna say goodbye to him either.) and thus, nico was freshly eleven when he's made the ambassador of pluto.
jason isn't allowed to leave camp jupiter, so sometimes nico sneaks him out with shadow travel. the first time they did it, jason actually puked because his twelve-year-old system is a little weak. it was worth it though, because nico bought him his first mcdonalds. jason doesn't think he could ever go back.
that's also how he found out that nico's dad gives him unlimited money to spend on whatever. he realizes nico has zero budgeting skills when he was nearly persuaded to buy a twenty dollar ice cream
when they were both thirteen years old, they were both officially allowed to go on minor quests. on the first one they take, it goes haywire but they meet a little puerto rican girl their age. after a little bit of explaining (and also a little bit of de-escalating, because wow this new demigod is good with a dagger), they find her name is reyna, and they take her back to camp jupiter
jason adopts her immediately, and thus so does nico, because they're a two-in-one deal. they become an iconic trio immediately— some people throw around rumours about love triangles between them, but none of them are ever the same. some say nico and jason argue over reyna's love, some say nico and reyna are fighting for jason's, some say jason and reyna are fighting for nico's.
reyna gets phantom crushes on both of them, mostly out of feeling like she needed to have a crush on them. they're the two people she loves most in the world, so it felt like proper procedure. it fades fast once she realizes they're very clearly in love with each other. she doesn't say anything about it, wanting them to realize on their own. she just hopes it's soon.
by the time nico comes back to camp with a curly-haired daughter of pluto, he's already told jason and reyna of who bianca was. he doesn't answer their looks of concerns for a long time. (but they fucking love hazel. new adoptee)
nico comes back from the war with kronos to be told jason lead the roman army and defeated krios by himself. he flips his shit.
(but he still congratulates jason on the praetorship by taking him on a small trip to gold coast, australia. after battling a monster in public, they appear in the news for allegedly fighting six feral red kangaroos in the street)
jason is diagnosed with ptsd soon after the war. nico finds that he can't bring himself to leave, not when he's one of the only people who know how to calm jason down from a panic attack. he can't leave him, not when jason has never left him.
one of the ways his ptsd manifests is through night terrors. and he doesn't want to ask for help. he's always telling people "there's no shame in asking for help" or "you can ask for help when you need it, we won't judge". yet he can't bring himself to follow his own advice. it's different for him, he often thinks. it's just different.
one day, he gets an especially bad one. it's so bad he almost can't breathe, and it takes him nearly two and a half hours until he's even able to move. when he can feel his legs again, he walks to nico's private quarters.
jason doesn't even have to say anything, and nico is pulling him inside and settling him in his white sheets. the same ones they bought together when they were little, relocated after they'd both moved from barrack bunks.
they don't say anything, but jason quietly asks if nico will hold him. there's something unreadable in his dark brown eyes, but he says yes with such certainty that jason knows he means it.
a few weeks later, jason wakes up in the back of a school bus, holding a pretty girl's hand but not knowing her name. the only thing he remembers is the name nico di angelo.

Headcanon #16
This one is a little sad guys. T/w for mentions of death and bullying
•as the two grew up Will’s protective nature never wavered
•middle school was hard. Anyone could tell you that.
•But it was especially hard for Nico.
•He was pale and skinny and small and hardly ever spoke to anyone but Will
•And when he did speak he was as quiet as a church mouse
•It wasn’t like anyone was trying to talk to him anyways so eventually he stopped trying too
•He stopped answering questions in class and would instead stare at the teachers blankly with vacant eyes
•No knew how to reach him
•No one knew what was going on
•no one even tried
•except for Will
•He was there at Bianca’s funeral. That day they had both lost a sister.
•He was there for the grief in the coming months.
•They were both still so small but Will promised himself that he would always protect Nico
•He’d protected him from bullies, monsters, even bees!
•He just couldn’t understand how he couldn’t protect him from grief.
•In 8th grade when Hades left for good, Will rode his bike to the di Angelo’s house in the middle of the night because Nico just couldn’t take it.
•He gave Naomi one hell of a heart attack the next day but she always knew where to find him
•The two were cuddled up in Nico’s bed with tear stricken faces fast asleep
•Solemnly Maria and Naomi decided maybe a week off of school would do the two some good
•But even through all the pain Nico didn’t show it
•He didn’t know how.
•All the pain and anxiety and sadness manifested in a blank face and vacant eyes
•but no one knew
•And the bullying only got worse
•And that is how Will almost got expelled.
•He doesn’t remember how it happened, he wasn’t even a fighter.
•But seeing that bully shove Nico he just remembered how he wanted it to be the last time anyone ever laid a finger on his best friend.
•All he remembers is sitting in the principals office with bloody knuckles
•And how furious Naomi was
•Even Apollo had to make a guest appearance
•he held a stern face until they exited the school
• “Next time Will don’t ball your fist up so tight, you’ll break your thumb”
•and the way the pride shone in Apollo’s eyes Will knew he did the right thing
•He was no fighter, he didn’t want there to be a next time but when it came to Nico
•He’d do what needed to be done.
•Naomi sure as hell put the fear of god into him for almost getting expelled but at the end she smiled.
• “You’re like a guardian angel baby, takin care of Nico.”
•And he smiled right back.
• “I’ll always take care of Nico mama, I’ll swear on a bible and everything! I’ll-“
•and she laughed and she bandaged up his hand
• “Don’t you worry your hard little head, I believe you”
•so yeah middle school was tough for Nico, anyone with a heart can tell you so.
•But he had Will, his mother,Hazel and the entire solace family behind him.
•so he tried his best to grin and bear it.
•It was also hard not to smile when Will was his cheerleader
• “I promise one day Nico those bullies will see just how cool you are! Then you can tell them to go straight to hell!”
•And
• “I don’t care about those popular assholes, all they do is party cause they think it’s cool. I like playing cards with you more, you know that”
• “yeah right, you’re only here so late cause my mom is making lasagna”
• “isn’t that what I said?”
•so yeah, if Will was here he could grin and bear it.
A/n hey guys this is the latest installment of my childhood best friends au, it’s a little different than what I normally right but I hope y’all still enjoy it. I might write another middle school one so our boys can have some happiness but after that it’s high school!

I Feel a Little Lost in This World (5/5)
chapter title: Percy’s Birthday Party Takes a Dark Turn
word count: 2,133
read on ao3
Camp was quiet for the rest of the summer, many of them eager to return home to their families for the school year, or simply struggling to process everything they’d gone through in the span of a few days.
Nico had performed funeral rites the day after the battle, and then had to do it again and again as campers continued to succumb to their injuries.
Then, one morning, the dying stopped. Campers began to heal physically, though it was clear that the mental toll would have lasting effects on all of them.
When August finally rolled around and Percy invited the questing group back to his mom’s apartment for a birthday celebration, Nico was excited to go. He wanted to pretend to be normal, just for a few minutes.
They finally got to see that movie they’d meant to see back in June, though they watched it from the comfort of Sally Jackson-Blofis’s couch. They had cake that had been dyed blue with food coloring. They all sat in a circle on the floor in the living room when conversation turned from the lighthearted to something more serious. Nico had wanted to double-check that they’d hit every point on the prophecy - wanting to be extra cautious considering what had happened after his first quest - though none of them seemed to think they knew what the last line had meant. Before they could get too far into it, though, Percy brought up a different prophecy instead.
“You know, I don’t really think it’s fair that the two of you get to know more about the Great Prophecy than us,” Percy complained, leaning back on his hands. “I mean, it’s about a kid of the Big Three, right?”
“That’s what Bianca told me,” Nico said, hugging his knees to his chest. Talking about the prophecy made him want to give Bianca a call, but would she answer? “She said that it’ll come to pass when a child of the Big Three turns sixteen.”
Annabeth nodded. “That’s right. It’s just a matter of...well, figuring out which one of you is closer to sixteen.”
Nico and Percy shared a look. How were they possibly going to figure that out?
Percy shrugged. “Well, chronologically, I’m, like...eighteen? And Nico’s like, a hundred, so...rock, paper, scissors?”
Nico kicked him. “We celebrated your thirteenth birthday last year. So you’re fourteen now.”
Annabeth turned to Nico. “And how old are you?”
Nico blinked. “Uh…”
“He’s fourteen,” Will said quietly. He hadn’t spoken up since the conversation turned to the topic of prophecies, and Nico had almost forgotten he was there. “He was ten when he got to camp, so he’s fourteen now. Almost fifteen.”
“I guess that means I turn fifteen in January,” Nico told Annabeth.
She nodded. “Then, to me, it sounds like the prophecy is yours. You’ll turn sixteen about half a year before Percy.”
“Great,” Nico said with a huff.
Percy nudged him with an elbow. “Hey, don’t worry about it! It’s only if you live that long.”
Nico shoved him back. “I wonder if I could bribe Persephone to turn you back into a tree.”
“Maybe she can turn you into a tree,” Percy suggested, “and that way you can just sleep straight through all the bad stuff.”
“So, you’re cool with taking the prophecy, then?” Nico asked. “Because I’ll gladly let you have it.”
Percy raised his hands in surrender. “Oh, no way, never mind! I’d like to live, thanks.”
“Wow, you think I’m gonna die? Thanks for having any faith in me.”
“Can you two please stop arguing?” Annabeth cut in. “If anything, we should be making a plan so that Nico doesn’t die.”
Nico frowned. “So...you also think that I’ll die? Damn, I expected it from Percy, but it hurts coming from you.”
Will suddenly got to his feet and said, “I need some air.” For a second, he didn’t move, except to glance at Nico before quickly looking away. “Um. Nico, could you come with me? There’s something I--  I need to talk to you. Alone.”
Nico blinked. “Uh, yeah, sure.” He got to his feet, not-so-subtly kicking Percy when he gave Nico a weird look, and then he had to practically jog down the hall to catch up with Will. “Hey, wait up,” Nico said when Will ducked into Nico and Percy’s shared bedroom, and then climbed out the window onto the fire escape. “Will, what’s going on?” Nico asked when he finally joined Will outside.
Will had sat down with his back to the exterior wall of the building, and when Nico sat down beside him, he realized that they wouldn’t be seen by someone passing by the window. Will was hiding - he truly didn’t want anyone but Nico to hear what he had to say. Will reached out for Nico’s hand before he started to talk.
“That...line in the prophecy,” Will said quietly, “I think I know… Lose a love to worse than death. I asked you before if… If Charlie had died, and you said he hadn’t, but that…” Will shook his head, gazing off into the distance away from Nico and letting his head thunk back against the wall behind them. “It’s worse than death. He’s… He’s gone, but now we-- You have to take him out...for good.”
Nico squeezed Will’s hand. “I’m so sorry, Will. I never realized you and Charlie were that close.”
Will laughed humorlessly, almost sounding embarrassed. “It’s...more than that. I--” He groaned, pressing his free hand over his eyes. “How can I explain this?” He dropped his hand and shifted to face Nico, reaching out to take Nico’s other hand as well. “When I was on Calypso’s island, we had a lot of time to...talk. I… I told her about you, mostly.” Will smiled nervously at Nico before dropping his gaze to their hands, his thumbs slowly brushing across Nico’s knuckles. “She got me thinking about some stuff, and helped me process a few things, and I’m realizing now, after… After losing Charlie and...and Lee, I don’t want to risk losing anybody else. And inside, just now, talking about how you--” He choked on his words as he said, “How you might die... Nico, I need you to know how important you are to me. I--” He lifted his gaze once more to meet Nico’s eyes. “I like you, Nico.”
Nico felt his face start to heat up, and for some reason, he couldn’t look into Will’s eyes any longer. He dropped his gaze to their joined hands. “I like you, too, Will. I mean, you’re my best friend, and I--”
Will sighed. “No, I-- I mean, yes, you’re my best friend, too, but-- No, I mean that I like you.”
Nico frowned. He nodded slowly and said, “Right. And I like you, too.”
“No, you--” Will cut himself off with a groan and pulled his hands out of Nico’s, though Nico tried to grab his hands back.
“Wait, hang on a second--”
For half a second, Nico actually thought Will might hit him to try to knock some sense into him, but then he did something that surprised Nico so much more.
Will grabbed Nico’s face in his hands and kissed him.
Nico was sure it only lasted for a second, but at the same time, he wondered if Kronos had appeared and frozen time around them. Then, Will pulled away, taking the warmth of his lips and his hands with him, and all Nico could do was watch him and blink.
He watched as Will opened his eyes, and the way the crease between his eyebrows disappeared. He blinked, and suddenly Will no longer looked determined, but shocked. Another blink, and Will was afraid.
“Oh,” Nico whispered, not sure which part he was reacting to.
Will scrambled back, burying his face in his hands and suddenly rambling, saying, “I’m sorry, oh gods, I’m so sorry. I don’t know why I did that! Please don’t be mad at me, I’m so sorry.”
“Woah, hey!” Nico exclaimed, finally managing to unfreeze himself and reaching out for Will. He took him by the shoulders and tried to lean in to make Will look at him, but it wasn’t until Nico managed to pry Will’s hands away from his face that Will finally lifted his eyes. He hadn’t started crying, which Nico took as a good sign, but his hands were shaking in Nico’s hold. “I’m not mad. I promise, I could never be mad at you.”
“You…” Will blinked. “You’re not? Then...how do you feel about...this?” Nico thought he heard an unspoken question: How do you feel about me?
“I...don’t know,” Nico answered honestly. “I don’t know how to say this in a way that won’t hurt you.”
Will’s hands went weightless in Nico’s. “Oh.”
“No, wait!” Nico squeezed Will’s hands and forced Will to keep his eyes on him. “I don’t know what I’m feeling. I need-- I have to process...all of this, but no matter what, I promise, you will always be my best friend. It’s just that… I mean, it’s like Percy said. I’m, like, a hundred. I know things are different now from when I was a kid, but in my head, it’s all still...jumbled up. I never even let myself think about you in that way, because I never thought it was possible for you to like me like that. So… I can’t really tell you how I feel, because I don’t know yet, but I know that I like you, and I’ll always like you, I just need to...figure out if it’s in the same way that you like me.”
Will held his gaze for another few seconds before tipping his head forward to press his forehead against Nico’s. “Okay, I get it.”
“You’re acting like this is a rejection,” Nico commented, “and it’s technically not.”
Will’s nose scrunched up. “It’s not... not a rejection.”
Nico hummed. “That’s too many negatives.”
Will laughed, and Nico felt his heart soar. He pulled back, releasing one of Will’s hands as he did so, and sat down at Will’s side again. He rested his head on Will’s shoulder, and felt Will’s head tip over onto his.
“What would you want to date me for, anyway?” Nico whispered. “I could be dead in a year.”
Will pressed his lips to the top of Nico’s head. “All the more reason to spend as much time with you as I can. Besides, if something were to happen to you, I can’t imagine that I won’t be far behind.”
Nico frowned and lifted his head. “If I die, it’s probably because I’m trying to protect you. If I die while protecting you, and you still die I’m going to be so pissed.”
Will grinned. “I meant more along the lines of how if you die, then Kronos might kill us all.”
“Oh.” Nico laid his head back down. “You don’t think Percy could take over and save the world?”
“A world without you? I don’t think I’d want him to save it.”
Nico elbowed him in the side. “Gods, have you always been this cheesy? Or do you think you have a free pass just because you confessed your feelings for me?”
“Eh, a little bit of both,” Will answered with a laugh.
They were quiet for a few moments, simply enjoying each other’s company, until Nico said, “I think I should go back to my training.”
Will paused. “Like, with your dad?”
Nico nodded. “I barely visited him at all last year while I was in school, and now that we know the prophecy is...well, probably about me, I feel like I should be training harder than ever. To make sure I’m ready for whatever happens.”
“That’s a good point,” Will replied. “Maybe I should stay back this year, too. Michael’s going to need help with the counselor stuff, and maybe Chiron can teach me more about healing, and archery, and...everything I can get better at while there’s still time.”
Nico squeezed his hand. “What about your mom? Don’t you want to spend as much time with her as you can, just in case?”
“I don’t even know if my grandparents will let me see her,” Will said quietly. “But...when it gets to that point, will you take me to Texas so I can say goodbye?”
“I’m not letting you die, Will--”
“I don’t want my last conversation with my mom to be over the phone,” Will cut in. “Please, Nico.”
Nico took a deep breath. “Yes, of course. Anything for you.”
Will shrugged his shoulder lightly, just enough to get Nico to look up at him once more. “So, I guess this means I’ll be seeing you around camp a little more often.”
Nico grinned. “Yeah, I guess you will.”
thanks for reading!

Part 26.  I thought this would be a good title because it is a lot like the title I used way back for chapter one. This chapter is the last chapter D.L. (During Lester), so the world will be a little different in the chapters after this one.
In short: Nico gets therapy from Dionysus. In this chapter, Nico tells Dionysus that the voices in his head have gotten worse. The rest is on AO3 and FanFiction.net! (And also Tumblr tags like Nico di Angelo, Pjo, Fanfiction etc.)
Chapter 26: Demeters’ Divine Orange Juice.
I did not expect a juice box to appear during dinner time, but I wasn’t surprised either. While the others got up, I stayed at the table. I looked up at Will, who was standing next to me. ‘I said I would help you with the mental health talk during campfire hours…’ Will leaned over and kissed me on my forehead.
‘It’s okay, Nico. This is more important. It is going to be okay.’ It will not be okay. Not until you get down here, where you belong.
When they were all gone, Dionysus came over and sat down on the opposite side of the Apollo table. ‘Hello, Nico.’
‘Hello?’ I picked up my juicebox.
‘Did your boyfriend tell you that he spoke to me yesterday?’
‘Yes.’ Of course he did. ‘He… he would not keep something like that a secret.’ How do you know? You can’t tell what he keeps secret from you. That is what they are secrets for. Naïve child.
Dionysus looked at my pained expression. ‘The voices are taunting you, aren’t they?’
I nodded. ‘Yes. They… they actually quieted down after I got to terms with being able to turn stuff to bones. The only time when they really rose again, was when I was in distress, like when we talked about Bianca. But now… they are there all the time again. They have not been back for long, that is why I didn’t tell you yet. I… I hoped they would just leave again.’ I shrugged. You shouldn’t have told him. You shouldn’t have told anybody. No one here is trustworthy and neither are you. Shut up.
‘Right. However, next time I’d rather see that you tell me immediately.’ I shrugged again. I did not know what to say. I knew he was right.
‘Do you think there is a reason that they have flared up? Aside from it being just a random thing for a few days.’
I nodded. ‘I have two ideas. One is that something is going on in Tartarsauce, or at least in the underworld. I hope not. What I think is more likely is that it means something is going to happen to Apollo. Maybe they… if I can call them they…’
‘That is actually good. That way they are not a part of you, but something else that needs to get out.’
We are a part of you. We will never get out. ‘They refer to themselves as ‘we,’ so I always thought of them as they. But anyway, maybe there is something cosmic changing and that is why there is a flare up.’
Dionysus nodded. I put in the straw and took a few sips out of my juice carton. It dawned on me that I never actually drank a whole carton of Demeters’ divine orange juice, even though it was the drink that I associated with therapy.
Dionysus stared at the camp. ‘About every ancient creature already showed its face in the last couple of years. The only one still out and about is the snake, so… I more or less hope that you are right. Well, you are still here. You are quite the menance, won’t you say? You hear voices from Tartarus. ‘The other option is a lot more likely.’
‘Apollo is coming this way of course. They defeated the second emperor in camp Jupiter, so their last stop will probably be camp Half-blood, to collect a team to aid in defeating Nero and the snake,’ I finished the train of thought.
A little absentmindedly, Dionysus nodded a couple of times. ‘Listen, Nico. You had a big role to play during the Titan war and the Giant war. There is a chance that Apollo might ask you for help.’ As if anybody would want your help. ‘But I... I think it would not be a good idea to go along with him. You shouldn’t built up any more trauma.’
‘I cannot blame Apollo if he asks.’ There is only one person to blame in this situation.
‘Hm.’
‘I mean, he has come far, but he is not there yet. He probably wants all the help he can get.’
‘And it might be best if you let someone else do that this time.’ I looked at the ground. Dionysus sighed. ‘However, I won’t hold you back if you decide to go. You should make that decision yourself. And, well, if the prophecy demands it, I guess trying to stop it will only do more harm. All I can do is tell you that I would rather see you stay in the camp.’
I did not answer. I knew I would probably go if asked. Mostly because Apollo would probably also ask Will and I couldn’t let him go alone.
‘Nico?’
‘I… I know, and I understand.’
He gave me a sad look and sighed. ‘I also want you to know that if you do decide to go, it doesn’t mean that I stop helping you.’
‘Yes.’ He will. ‘But, eh... we are talking about a hypothetical.’
‘I have a sneaking suspicion that you already thought about it, a lot. I might even go so far as to say that you have already made up your mind. That makes it more than just a hypothetical.’ I shrugged and took a small sip. The juice tasted like mud.
For a little while, we were both silent, until Dionysus scraped his throat.
‘We need to see what will happen. To a certain extent, you are correct. We are arguing about a hypothetical. Until we know better what is going on, you should keep using the strategies I taught you to keep the voices under control.’ I nodded. Keep us under control. Idiot.
‘Yes.’ Don’t trust him. ‘Eh, one more thing: the voices are more specific if I am talking to someone or doing something. Then they usually try to make me think I am doing everything wrong. However, if I am just, eh... being, it is more… ominous chanting. Come to Tartarus, free our lord, that sort of stuff.’ I shrugged. ‘Not much different from what I had way back in January, when you first reached out to me.’
He nodded a few times. ‘Alright.’ He stared at the strawberry fields. The sun had almost completely set at this point. ‘Nico, can you promise me that you will say it if it feels like you can’t handle it anymore?’
‘Yes.’ I nodded. I could say that, although I thought I could not say it with confidence.
‘Good. If there is nothing else, than you may go.’
I slowly drank the juice I had left. ‘Yes. Thanks.’ Don’t thank someone who wants to hurt you.
‘I think I’ll go join the others at the campfire. I promised Will to help with the mental health speech.’
‘Yes, go do that. Perhaps I’ll even join you. I am curious to see what Solace made of it. It can’t be much good, but you know, maybe it is pasable.’
A/N: No joke, putting the voice outside of yourself is how they told me to handle my eating disorder.
Also I like to think Chiron lets Will and Nico sleep in the same cabin, because it helps both of them sleep better.
After this, the story will be A.L. (After Lester), as I already said. There is already a lot planned, It will be a long time before I run out of story to write!
I reread some parts from tower of nero and realised that I veered off canon here and there. Whatever, Rick Riordan can’t even keep his own canon straight. In the last Olympian, he states that Hades met Maria di Angelo in Washington, which would mean they never were in Italy. However, in The tower of nero, it is said that Nico went to school in Italy. I’ll make of it what I can.

God Swap Au
(The way this au works you take to characters and swap there godly parents. I decided to add Will because I need to keep the numbers even and I don’t think Bellona has a Greek equivalent)
Percy:
Son of Athena
There’s no Gabe in this au cause he’s not needed
Percy is really into Mythology (not just Greek but every kind), Ancient history and biology
His room looks like an explosion in a book store. He does have a system but it seems to only make sense to him.
He can give of mad scientist vibes
Annabeth:
Daughter of Poseidon
She loves building model ships and hopes to one day design the fastest boat there’s ever been
She still ran away from home when she was seven and she still met Luke but in this au it’s just the two of them.
She isn’t claimed until years later after she’d already met and befriended Percy.
She was worried Percy wouldn’t want to be friends with her anymore but he reassured her that that wasn’t going to happen
Jason & Thalia:
Children of Pluto/Hades
In this au they were the ones who lived during the 40′s
Their mother died from alcohol poisoning around the same time the big three prophecy was made
Realising he had to hide them, but couldn’t hide them together due to being greek and roman Hades/Pluto sent Jason to the Lotus Casino until it was time for him to go to the Wolf House.
Before he could think of what to do with Thalia Zeus attacked and killed her.
Decades later Jason found her and escaped the underworld with her.
He tried to take her to Camp Jupiter  but  they got separated along the way and she ended up at Camp Half Blood
Hazel & Nico & Bianca:
Children of Jupiter/Zeus
Both born in the modern day
Nico and Bianca’s mom was a big city lawyer who moved from Italy to the States
She died after her office block was attacked by someone who’d lost a case to her
They were sent to Camp Half Blood where they arrived around the same time Percy did.
Two years later Bianca meets the Hunters and decides to join them
After she dies Nico does run away but it doesn’t take long for Percy and Annabeth to find him and bring him back. He’s known them for three years and he has friends at camp who he already misses.
Nico has a toy plane modelled after the frecce tricolori planes and dreams of being a stunt pilot one day
Hazel was also born in the modern day, and in this au never died.
Her curse is she can’t touch people without accidentally electrocuting them. Usually it’s only a small shock but there are times it’s killed people.
Out of fear she covers as much skin as possible and refuses to touch anyone.
When Jupiter claims her everyone starts expecting her to take a leadership role much to her frustration.
She ends up turning to Jason for help and quickly figures out this Pluto kids a much better leader than she is. It’s just no one wants to listen to this weird kid who talks funny and appears and disappears a little too quickly and quietly
Will
Son of Aphrodite
He has the power to make anyone fall in love with him, romantically or platonicaly. He never uses the romantic side of his powers and only uses the platonic side if he’s in danger
Nico calls him Pretty boy
He’s the one everyone turns to first when they have relationship problems or just need to rant but don’t think their friends or siblings would understand
When he becomes the head of the cabin he makes a strict no shipping fellow campers rule.
Piper
Daughter of Apollo
She’s more on the musical side, though she does keep a small first aid kit in her saddle bag which she carries everywhere
Whenever she sings everyone has to stop and listen to her no matter what they’re doing
She can also play the flute. She can control mice by doing this earning her the nickname Pied Piper from Leo
She is quick to prove wrong anyone who accuses her of just being a healer with a pretty voice
Leo
Son of Ares
He gets very angry if he sees someone picking on someone smaller than them, even if said person is bigger than him
He’s gotten into a lot of fights because of this
Eventually his mom had to send him to the wilderness school because he’d been expelled/ran away from all the local schools and three military schools
Whilst he was there she died
He tends to use his sword for everything, including opening tins, picking things of the floor and at one point scratching his back. Piper yelled at him for five hours after he came to her for healing
Frank:
Son of Vulcan
He can still shape shift but also have fire powers (you don’t know true fear until a burning elephant has charged towards you
He’s pretty good at making/fixing weapons which is just as well because Leo keeps breaking his
His mom was a combat engineer until she died.

If Today Was Your Last Day
A new fanfic is up on my FF.net and AO3 accounts, but this time, you can read it here too!
Summary: Nico's last day at Camp Half-Blood before everything goes to hell. Canon-compliant, takes place during The Titan's Curse. Written for Day 7 of Solangelo Week 2020 - Capture the Flag.
CW: Mentioned bullying, low self-esteem, loneliness, etc. This fanfic may also evoke the meme I'm in this photo and I don't like it — reader discretion is advised. Also, rated because you might aww so much at babey Nico that you forget to breathe and die, and Solangelo friendship is pure. Slight canon divergence is also observed.
Bolded text are directly taken from The Lightning Thief or translation notes.
==========================================================================================================================
It had been about a week since Nico's life had been turned on its head. Last Friday, he was just a cadet-in-training at Westover Hall, a dark, dreary military boarding school that he was technically too young to attend, at the school dance with his sister (only high-school age cadets were allowed dates). Back then, he thought the beings and creatures of his Mythomagic cards and figurines were just Mythomagic cards and figurines (no matter how much he wished otherwise), and brave heroes fighting monsters were just storybook tales, just his escape from a world of taunts and mocking laughter and slurs hissed across the room when the teachers' backs were turned.
Then everything changed when Dr. Thorn, the Vice Principal, attacked. Sì, he actually attacked, and no, it was not a metaphor for anything — he turned out to be an actual manticore and… blatantly kidnapped him and Bianca from the gym. (Where is he going to take me? What does he want with me? What's so valuable about me — and Bianca — worth kidnapping? And how has no one noticed? There are like… at least a few hundred people here!) Then a boy with a bronze sword and eyes the colour of the sea beneath the school on a sunny day appeared to save them, like those heroes in the storybooks hidden at the back of the school library — his name was Perseus, like the slayer of Medusa from the Ancient Heroes expansion pack.
It was like his dream had come true overnight.
More came along — Bianca's classmate who she talked about every once in a while and two girls, a blonde and a brunette, then a whole squadron of other girls, one of whom was Artemis herself. The Greek gods were real, monsters were real, but the heroes who fought against them were also real and he was so going to grow up to be one—!
Then Apollo showed up (look away from the arms, do not look at the arms…) and had Thalia (the girl with the dark hair who vaguely looked like him in the mirror) drive them away from Maine. A town below caught fire, but hey, he was riding in the sun chariot (or a version of it) of one of the Greek gods—! And then they crashed smack in the middle of the lake.
Camp Half-Blood was epic. It was run by Chiron the centaur himself, and Dionysus (who was one of the most underrated figures in the game, and nothing could convince him otherwise). There was a climbing wall (with lava?!) and you could actually make your own swords and fight with bows and shields and spears.
The biggest downside was that Bianca joined the Hunters — Artemis' all-girls' club that swore to leave all men behind in exchange for living forever… including him, her brother, apparently. Immortality was kind of tempting, to be honest, but at the cost of being left to face the world alone without Bianca? No. (He didn't know who his immortal parent was, nor had they tried to contact them, and he had no idea what happened to his mortal parent. He and his sister only had each other, and now she went off and left him with people he barely knew? What was he supposed to do?) A second downside was the "PG-13" orientation film that he would rather have erased from his mind.
He tried to forget that happened. He played poker against a pair of brothers at the Hermes table and somehow (miraculously, according to the regulars of the table) managed to win against them, to their (the Stolls') amazement. The pegasi whinnied whenever he got close, but he hoped it was a good thing. He even befriended a couple of campers (a first for him! Everyone thought he was the "weirdo obsessed with a card game" back at Westover Hall), one of them being a boy called Will from the Apollo Cabin, and another being a lady in the Campfire — Hestia (she didn't have a figurine to her name but he felt that she deserved one).
Still, he tried to talk to his sister, but she made excuse after excuse, continuously talking with those new sisters of hers, who argued with the campers over trivial matters and showed off as though being girls blessed by Artemis made them superior to everyone else.
Then Bianca was chosen to go on the quest to save Artemis. He asked Percy to go and protect her, but it was the most that he could have done, and all he could do after that was to wait.
Instead of moping around, he threw himself into the camp activities. The Stolls taught him how to pickpocket and thieve. Will's brother Lee taught him how to shoot a bow (though he wasn't very good at it), and one of the Ares campers, Sherman, taught him to throw javelins. He also talked to Will during free time, and he even showed him his quiet place for when he wanted calm from the chaos of camp, at the edge of the forest. He rambled about Mythomagic to anyone who would listen, but Will was the only one who would, maybe because everyone else had been living in the mythological world for so long that they could recite the stories in their sleep and so shooed him away every time he came near, like Bianca, while Beckendorf and the Stolls were too busy manufacturing weapons or planning prank wars on the Camp to sit down and listen.
But by night, terrible dreams haunted his sleep, visions of death and ruin and whispers from the dark that kept him up half the night, but upon asking, he was always dismissed because demigods having bad dreams was "normal" (though this often? No response). He wasn't sure if being a demigod was so fun anymore.
=============================================================
Friday came, and Capture the Flag was imminent. The Hunters had left for the gods' Winter Solstice meeting on Olympus, so all left at Camp were about twenty campers. The Hermes Cabin had joined forces with Demeter and Aphrodite (blue banner with a caduceus), while Ares led the other team, which also consisted of Athena (surprisingly, since Ares and Athena were usually on opposing teams), Apollo and Hephaestus (blood-red banner with a boar head and a spear). Which pitched him and Will on opposite teams.
"Heroes! You know the rules. The creek is the boundary line. The entire forest is fair game. All magic items are allowed. The banner must be prominently displayed, and have no more than two guards. Prisoners may be disarmed, but may not be bound or gagged. No killing or maiming is allowed. I will serve as referee and battlefield medic. Arm yourselves!" Chiron made his announcement, and he was handed a sword, a blue-plumed helmet, a chestplate and a huge shield. He dropped everything but the sword and the helmet promptly — they were too heavy for him to carry.
"Holly, Laurel, runners as usual," Travis directed.
"Nico?" Connor called as he turned to them. "Stealth. Remember what we taught you — take them down from behind. For once, we're outnumbered—" Probably because you stuck paper spider silhouettes to their lamps and covered all the Ares soap bars in clear nail polish, which drove the war gods' kids together to band together to kick your butts to Olympus. Oh, Connor had paused for a moment, perhaps forgetting what he was saying mid-sentence. "For once, we're outnumbered and we want someone — you — to diminish their numbers before they can even get to the flag. We have traps set up, but we don't think they're enough to help us win. So go and knock 'em dead, capiche?"
"Capiso," he instinctively responded, though a moment later, he knew he might not be able to do much good. He had already dumped his shield behind, so how was he going to say, knock someone out, if he was so… small? [I understand (Venetian)]
The conch horn sounded in the distance. He dived behind a tree, as the crunching of sneakers on grass rang out nearby. The sun had long set below the horizon, but for some reason, unlike most of the campers, he felt somewhat energized by the darkness, rather than fatigued. Wherever the moonlight didn't hit, he slipped among the roots of the great trees, but never stayed behind one long enough to be spotted.
Later on in the night, though he was not sure if it was five or fifteen or fifty-five minutes that had passed (he wasn't the best with time), a Hephaestus camper flickered and appeared out of the corner of his eye, yet apparently, they noticed him too.
"There!"
They and another camper in a red-plumed helmet bolted towards him. One held an axe in hand, while the other waved around a giant warhammer. He waved his arms around and ducked behind a tree, wondering if there was any way to stop the pursuers in their tracks, because he had the feeling that they would chase him down until he tired out. A maneuver that might actually work on him — the coach handling physical activities back at Westover Hall kept scolding him for "lacking in stamina", but even he wasn't sure why he tired out so much faster than even kids his age.
All of a sudden, twin screams erupted from behind him. He turned around — perhaps a bit too quickly, so he also tripped over his own feet and crashed into the ground — the Hephaestus and Ares (upon closer inspection) campers had fallen down a pit three metres deep that he swore wasn't there before. Maybe the Stolls conveniently rigged a trap around here? But this spot wasn't marked on their battle plan map of the woods… hmm… Or he was just… seeing things? (Another thing on his list of things to never tell anyone.)
He crept closer to the boundary between the teams' respective home turfs. It was there where he saw a certain son of Apollo his age guarding the border, his shield leaning on a nearby tree. He was clumsily nocking an arrow to a bow even taller than him. (He covered a smile behind his hand — so Will was telling the truth about sucking at archery despite having been at Camp for years.)
The shadow of the tree directly across from the creek was once again whispering incomprehensible words to him. He shook his head, and—
"AHHHHHH!"
Will turned around, his back now facing him, and dropped his weaponry, his hand now at the first-aid pouch around his waist. And that was when Nico charged across the green and pounced like a feral kitten, causing both to crumple down frontwards. Will's red-plumed helmet had somehow managed to fall off during the struggle, so Nico tore his off and jammed it over Will's head, declaring, "Got you!"
"Hey!" Will was definitely trying to shove him off from his back, but in the night, his movements were a bit more sluggish than under normal circumstances.
"Rules are rules, let me take you to Blue Team Jail, you're one of us now," Nico replied cheekily, as he dragged his opponent to his feet and in the direction of the Blue Team turf, leaving behind the shield, bow and quiver of arrows on the ground beneath the tree.
Despite the embarrassing capture and a game still going on around them, the boys decided that it was preferable to sit in the Blue Team Jail and keep talking about stuff. At one point, Nico went from talking about Percy's promise to playing a guessing game regarding who his divine parent might be.
"You snuck up on me and I couldn't even hear you approaching. Hermes, maybe?"
"Forse… but it would be cool any way!" [Maybe (Venetian/Italian)]
Eventually, Will was discharged from the Jail when the Stolls ran back, screaming, as Holly and Laurel returned with a blue banner decorated with a laurel wreath insignia instead of a spear and a boar, proclaiming the twin girls as daughters of some minor deity which reminded him of… what was I thinking about again?
After that, the campers were all ushered off to bed, since somehow, it was too late for even Campfire to take place; and literally tackling someone to the ground really did take a lot of energy out of him, because he kind of yawned in the middle of the announcement. (How embarrassing…)
"Bona note, Will…" [Good night (Venetian)]
Will patted him on the shoulder. "See you in the morning, Nico."
It would be the last time he would ever have some semblance of a peaceful night, and the last time he would see his friend for the next six months or so. By then, everything would have been turned on its head… again.
==========================================================================================================================
A/N: Ha, this is actually the first time I've ever written Solangelo, believe it or not, and I honestly don't know how to write romance or friendship, since I've never been in a romantic relationship before, and I don't really do well with friendships (yes, I have friends, but no, I'm not the best with people).
At the end of the day, I cry for what would befall the fate of this child in 12 hours from the point this fic ends.
That's it for now, and I honestly worked all day on this fic. I hope you've enjoyed it! Peace out and adĂŹo!

The Underworld Heroes
A pretty dumb name for the au, but I swear I don’t have any other idea yet.
Basically I found this draft of an idea where Bianca became a praetor, Thalia was also roman, Jason was at CHB and Nico stayed there. I took some inspiration from Dearly Departed (sorry Kingburu, hope is alright by you) since some parts of my script didn’t make too much sense. Change some other stuff. And welp, here we are.
I wasn’t sure to write it, but I was yearning for some Jasico Childhood friends au (tho no so sure if it counts as one) so I may as well write this.
Warning: One major change I did is that Thalia in canon, have an age difference with Jason of about 6 years, for this au I decided to make it 10. You will see why later on.
Part 1: The ones we lost
- Around the time Thalia is 11, wolves appeared at her home, and Beryl said that it finally happen, they had come here to take her. Thalia was thinking her mother was nuts but then explained that she must go to Camp Jupiter and train as a proper demigod. She didn’t like the idea of leaving her 1 yo brother, but didn’t have a lot of choice.
- She still visited when she could, send pictures of her (since Jason couldn’t read) via eagle messages.
- Then around the time Thalia became 12, by accident, Thalia entered the Lotus Hotel. Nobody else knew she was there, she was on a quest, so after a couple of months, Camp Jupiter thought she died in her mission.
- Beryl assumed Thalia had abandoned them, so she took away all her things, put them in the trash. Jason was two years old, and any time he asked for her, he got scowled.
- With time, Jason started forgetting about her, wondering if she was real or a product of his imagination. Every time he asked his mother, she said he didn’t have a sister, but there is some tint her voice that betrays that idea. He can barely remembers how she looks like, and doesn’t recall her name anymore.
- Beryl is of course, a mess, looking for attention, making drama, trying to appear in any show hoping she could get her fame back, and never works. Jason well, grows up lonely really; his learning disability is not helping him with school, and the times his mom comes for him to the school the other kids recognized her as “the funny drunk in tv” so that doesn’t help.
- Monsters start appearing, since Beryl would not shut up about Zeus and he being a demigod, and Beryl cursed to Hera, Juno (she uses the names interchangeable at this point); Jason is not so sure what to think of anything anymore.
- Beryl one day, in an alcoholic state, mentions that there is a place where he could go, for people like him, Jason tries to ask for the place but then she throws an empty bottle to the wall saying that he would never go there, that he would not abandon her, not now or never.
- And that’s all Jason needs to know that he needs to go; he is six, doesn’t know a lot about life, but knows that his mom is a time bomb, things are getting difficult for him, and he just really wants to find a place where he fits; because he doesn’t think what he has can be called a home.  (I know he is insanely young and this is bonkers, but sadly the timeline needs it to be this way to make sense; besides Annabeth was around that age when she left)
- Call it luck, call it cloud nymphs or griffins helping him for being a child of Zeus; but he manages to make it without dying; along the way he encounters Annabeth, who is only a year older than him; and then eventually, Luke Castellan. At some point, Grover comes by, looking for Jason, who of course wants to bring his friends (who he sees as older siblings, in a way) so they go.
- They are trying to get into the camp, but monsters are following them. Jason has been jittery all day, the stress is probably influencing things, but he has been shocking his friends with static. Annabeth is injured, and Luke is trying to get them to the camp. Jason is falling behind, partially for being the youngest and being incredible tired. He sees the monsters behind, and he isn’t sure if his friends can make it. He knows whatever has been going all day may be his powers, he knows he should be powerful, and he wants to do something for his friends. Jason knows he is the one who gets more monsters, and his friends had done so much for him, he just..wants to do this. He lets them run while he stops, and tries to concentrate in the feeling. When they notice he wasn’t following, it was too late.  Jason screams, and a powerful array of lightnings comes out, destroying a lot of the monsters; he cannot even see his success, that definitely has leave him too tired.  He is attacked by one of the monsters, and that is what, in combination with his fragile state for being tired and drained for his powers, kills him. The last thing he hears is Annabeth screaming his name.   Jason becomes a tree, something that helps to protect the Camp, but that is little to no comfort for his friends who saw a six year old die for them.
- - - -
There is more of it, but I thought it was too long and I notice that people pay more attention if things are shorter. I already had wrong the second part, I just need to edit it.
Hope you like it!

Some Fandom/Buzzfeed Unsolved Crossover Ideas I Haven’t Seen Yet But Someone More Qualified Should Write
*The Abrupt Appearance of Emma Swan (& August Booth & Lily Page & Neal Cassidy) - Once Upon A Time - they find a kid and a newborn on the side of the road, neither of them technically existing, and this isn’t questioned?
*The Fire at the SFIT Showcase - Big Hero 6 - possibly an on-location where they try to find Tadashi’s ghost, or speculating on who started the fire and how Big Hero 6 comes into play/is connected.
*The Second Disappearance of Percy Jackson - Heroes of Olympus - I’ve seen a few fics on Percy’s “disappearance” in The Lightning Thief, but nothing on his vanishing due to Hera. It’d be interesting especially if they’d already done a piece on his first “disappearance”, as if this was a follow-up but not.
*The Life and Death of Luke Castellan - Percy Jackson and the Olympus - I mean it’s actually an interesting case. Mom goes crazy for a seemingly inexplicable reason, runs away at nine, connected to runaways Thalia Grace and Annabeth Chase, then years later disappears again and is spotted dead in front of the Empire State Building.
*The Potter House - Harry Potter - an on-location episode exploring the “explosion/gas leak” that supposedly led to James and Lily Potter’s deaths and the destruction of their house, maybe they try to get in contact with James and Lily’s ghosts, maybe they get scarily close to guessing the magic secret.
*The Lives and Deaths of Artemis Crock and Wally West - Young Justice - beloved Stanford University couple when Artemis’ death is announced only for it to turn out to have been faked (and why would she and Wally fake her death?), only for Wally to actually die shortly after, except there isn’t a body - could his death have been faked too?
*The Abnormal Appearances of Conner Kent & Megan Morse - Young Justice - two high school sophomores suddenly exist, and though their records are flawless, no one actually has any recollection of them in their first 16 years of life.
*Number 12 Grimmauld Place - Harry Potter - if this house was sold, imagine the eerieness of Number 12 suddenly existing when there are no records of there having been a Number 12 on Grimmauld Place and the aura of darkness that could still be hanging over the place.
*The Death and Rebirth of Hazel Levesque - Heroes of Olympus - true, they have no way of knowing Hazel actually left the Underworld and came back to life, but it could be one of Ryan’s theories as to how there’s a girl with the same name an appearance as a little girl 70 years ago who died in a tragic accident.
*The Vanishing of the di Angelo Family - Percy Jackson and the Olympians - could explore the exploded hotel, and the reports of Nico and Bianca having survived it yet never seen again, only for people to see two kids who look like them and share their name show up 70 years later like Captain America.
*The Town of Storybrooke - Once Upon A Time - how Storybrooke appears to be known by Maine, but no one can actually get there, the disappearance of that one father and son duo, etc.
*The Disappearing Dog - Bolt - how can one of the most famous dogs in the world in-universe disappear without anyone having any idea how it happened, only for him to show up days later just at the right time to save Penny?
*The Crash and Resurrection of Captain Danvers - Captain Marvel - crash happens, gets covered up, Captain Danvers declared missing or dead, only for someone suspected to be her showing up 6 years later?
*The Mysterious Photograph - Wonder Woman - there is only one photograph, very rare, of Wonder Woman, yet there are many accounts of her deeds in WW1. Who is she, and where did she come from?
*The Elric House - Fullmetal Alchemist - on location, visiting location & trying to figure out what happened to Ed & Al and why the house was set on fire.
*The Mysterious Murder of Maes Hughes - Fullmetal Alchemist - I don’t think they ever revealed to the public in-universe who murdered Hughes, so this would probably surround who murdered him and why.
*The Legend of the Black Widow - Marvel/Avengers - I’ve seen a Winter Soldier one, do one on Black Widow!
*The Explosion of the Pelekai House - Lilo & Stitch - basically just them theorizing why Lilo and Nani’s house blew up during Lilo and Stitch’s fight with Jumba and Pleakley.
*The Anomalous Appearance of Bart Allen - Young Justice - basically a version of Conner and M’gann’s for Bart/Impulse.
*The Peculiar Power of Shawn Spencer - Psych - Ryan believes Shawn is actually psychic, Shane believes Shawn is pretending to be psychic and has something else up his sleeve.
*The Curious Case of Captain Hook - Once Upon A Time - based on the fact that the Victorian setting was the “real” world just in the past, basically, they debate: was Captain Hook a real person? Could Liam or Killian Jones have become Captain Hook?
*The Folk-Lore of The Flock - Maximum Ride - treating The Flock as basically cryptids.
*The Fearsome Phenomenon of the Phantom of the Opera - Phantom of the Opera - was there really a phantom at Opera Populaire? Shane and Ryan are going to Paris to go on location.
*The New York Incident - Percy Jackson and the Olympians - the mortals were supposedly all asleep during the Battle of Manhatten. Shane and Ryan debate how and why that could have happened.

The end of everything we know
Percy dragged Nico with him to pick up Annabeth front the airport. She has just landed in the airport and was about to go on the plane back home. 2 flights in one day just to see Percy for the weekend. That thought made Percy happy. He hasn't seen her since the start of the summer, she was with her father in San Francisco, getting ready for the last year in school. Nico looked grumpy the whole ride to the airport. He was talking about Bianca for the first time in... Well, ever. Percy was surprised when he started to talk about her at the start of the ride. "You know, when Bianca and I moved here from Italy we thought we'd fly a lot more often, but she never lived long enough to do that..." Nico sounded sad so Percy put on Heroes by David Bowie. Nico stopped talking and listened. Percy even saw a tear running down his cheek. Nico was quite for the rest of the ride, listening to Heroes on repeat and drawing Bianca in his sketchbook. Percy wanted to hear more about Bianca, they never really got a chance to talk and it made him sad. He saw her die and he barely knew her, Nico knew her his whole life and didn't even get the chance to say goodbye properly. When they arrived at the airport Annabeth was supposed to be there already but there was no sign to the blonde girl. Nico seemed sadder. "Percy...."
"I know, I know, she's late but she'll be here. Just a second."
"No Percy... You don't understand."
"Nico just wait jeez."
"PERCY!" Nico shouted.
"What?!"
"She's... She's not coming." Nico teared up again. "I feel it."
"No... No no no." Percy shook his head tearing up too. "No it can't be. It can't be..."
"Percy -"
"No you're mistaking." Percy said, but deep down he knew Nico was right. Annabeth was gone. "We can ask someone. We have to."
"It just happened, Percy, they don't know yet."
"No..." Percy's voice broke. He fell to his knees, crying. Nico didn't know what to do. "I'm sorry Percy."
Percy was shocked. The last time he saw her she kissed him goodbye and said see you later seaweed brain. If only she'd know there was no "later". Not for them.
On the way back Nico called Hazel and told her they'll have to meet, both camps. Percy couldn't drive so they called Sally. She came and hugged Percy. "She's gone." Percy said, all chocked up. "She didn't deserve this." Percy was shocked. He stared at the ground and then at Sally. "What do I do? She was everything."
Sally drove them to the camp. Camp Jupiter was already there, sitting together, waiting for Percy and Nico to come and tell the news. When they saw them coming they all ran towards them, until they saw their faces and stopped. "What happened?" Chiron asked.
Percy looked at the sea. He didn't know what happened. He just knew he was lost. "Annabeth." His voice broke again and he cried. "She's gone."
Everyone looked at Percy. Clarisse came out of the crowd and hugged Percy. "It'll be okay Percy, you'll be okay." Everyone was too shocked to point out that Clarisse and Percy were hugging.
After everyone left Percy alone he came into cabin seven. Malcolm stood up and took Percy aside. "Hey, I know she meant a lot to you. I'm sorry." Percy remembered how Malcolm came into the cabin 3 years ago and saw him hugging Annabeth. He would give anything to go back there and kiss her. "We'll give you some time alone, you know, to give her a last look." They left Percy alone in the cabin. He looked at her bed. It was clean like no one ever stayed there. He looked under it and saw the computer Daidlus gave her and a carton box. He took it out and opened it. Inside he saw pictures of them together, the tickets to the movie they were supposed to see 3 years ago until he set his school on fire, a purple coral she must've picked when they kissed underwater and a necklace with a blue stone hanging from it, a birthday gift she got for her seventeenth birthday from Percy.
Percy couldn't sleep that night. Around 4am he heard a knock on his door. It was Nico. He said they can summon Annabeth and say a final goodbye. They walked into the woods and dug a hole. When ghosts appeared Percy looked for Annabeth. He didn't know what she would look like because she was a ghost now but when he felt like he found her he let her drink and eat from the hole. It was indeed Annabeth. She looked at Percy and cried. She had a big scratch on her stomach and chest, from the monster that killed her at the airport. She looked at Percy sadly and tried to touch his hand but it just went through his. "Percy... I'm sorry."
Percy looked at her and cried. "No, I'm sorry. I'm sorry I wasn't there. I should have been there with you."
"Percy don't say that, please, there's nothing you could have done."
"I miss you. It's hard without you here. It's weird waking up and not seeing you here."
"Percy I-"
"Percy, Annabeth," Nico said. "I'm sorry but you have to do it faster or monsters will find us."
"Annabeth..."
"Iove you seaweed brain." She started to flicker.
"Don't go-"
"Goodbye Percy Jackson."
"Goodbye wise girl."
Annabeth smiled one last time, and Percy cried. Then she disappeared and Nico collapsed. Percy cought him before he hit the ground. He sat there until the sun came up, crying, looking at the grave and calling Annabeth's name, but she disappeared with the rest of the ghosts. Forever.
At the funeral Percy sat next to Piper. She looked at him sadly. "It's funny, you know, how bad things happen to good people. She didn't deserve this. Neither did Jason. We both lost our first loves and our best friends."
He looked at her. She knew what he was going through and she was right. "I wish we could go back to Argo II. When they were still here. We're only four now. It's the end of everything we know."
The seven, now four, gathered around the grave and thought about the last time they were there. Another year of grieving and trying to heal. Trying to keep busy and not think about the fallen hero. They knew it was going to be hard but they had to do it. For their best friends, they had to be heroes, just for one day.
Hi so I know this is very long but if you have time read it (unless you don't wanna be sad)

Adoration, Luck, and Fire Chapter Two
Tag: @actual-disaster-human @gingerdaile @queen-of-the-trash-planet-tm @graduatedmelon
As his week progressed, Leo has slowly adjusted to his schedule. Obviously everyone else that transferred to Lycee Françoise Dupont, he heard from Percy that their teacher reminds him a lot of his old Yancy teacher. Ms. Mendeleiev did seem really strict...
One thing that Leo found very nice and comforting in this new school/new city was Marinette Dupain-Cheng.
Not many people would go out of their way to make sure he and his friends were as comfortable in Dupont as possible. She not only made Calypso feel comfortable enough to befriend people who weren’t Percy, him, or Artemis. She stood up for the both of them whenever Lila decided to make lies about him.
Oh boy, don’t get him started on the time where Lila tried to claim she was his girlfriend.
Frank, Hazel, Nico and Calypso had a field day with her.
But as for speaking of Marinette. All of the demigods, to his knowledge, found her as a sunshine in their dark lives.
Even Nico, NICO, has admitted that and he quotes. ‘We’ve only had Marinette for a day and a half, but if something happened to her I would kill everyone in this school and then myself.’
He knew how to meme! Marinette made him meme!
Oh, and both Leo and Calypso made sure to let Piper know that there was a liar making up rumors over her and her father.
To say he was pissed was an understatement, but whenever he or any of his friends were brought up by her, he would get annoyed.
Not many people annoyed Leo like Narcissus did that one time.
However, Lila came to a close second.
Did Lila have any sort of common sense??
He hoped that Piper wouldn’t get even more lies spread about her, but if Marinette was to go by...Lila didn’t ever stop her lies.
Something snapped him out of his thoughts, a scream rang out down the corridor and his eyes widened. ‘Wait what’s going on?!’ He thought to himself. He began to panic, looking around in a frantic
Then, he heard it
“AKUMA!”
“What the Hades is an Akuma?” Leo heard in the distance, knowing full well that Percy was cursing his luck. Hell, he himself was cursing his luck.
Did they trade monsters just to end up with MORE monsters?
The demigods have such bad luck gods dammit. Leo turned his head as a person with Grey-red skin started making their way down the hallway. Oh shit was that....
Bianca?! Fûck fuck fUCK. The son of Hephaestus stepped backwards, knowing full well that people could die. “You had to date the person that can kill you Percy, hasn’t you?!” He started towards the raging daughter of Hades. “Bianca?” He called out hesitantly.
The person, Bianca, he tried reminding himself turned her head towards him. “My name is Firecracker, Leo go somewhere safe. I don’t want to hurt you.” Her distorted voice greeting him, like she was there but...there were hundreds of voices mixed in. It sounded like you could hear it was her voice but exactly not at the same time.
In this moment, Leo took the time to scan the older demigoddess in front of him. Her skin has an odd shade of both red and grey, like someone mixed some storm clouds with lava. Her outfit consisted of a black ballerina garb, purple stripes rolling down the bodice connecting into spirals that the tutu carried.
The oddest thing was that she was wearing a leather jacket to accompany the ballerina outfit. Completing the look happened to be the red tights with ballerina flats to finish the entire thing off.
‘Well, Bianca has always had a grace to her.’ He thought to himself, jumping out of her way. “So uh!” Leo managed to stop the girl gently taking her by the hand. “Before you go and smite whoever you want to smite, can I ask what happened?”
Because it was a very Leo thing to do, help his friends talk their problems out before he lets them go.
Firecracker pauses for a moment, pursing her lips together she opened her mouth. “Some girl tried to harm both Nico and I, she tripped him countless of times and oftened blamed it on clumsiness, and for me? She tried to make it seem like I was stealing things from her. I’m pretty sure she’s thrown homophobic slurs too.” She explains to him, her face giving off anger and there was a frown itching its way onto her face.
Well, Leo is lying if he said he didn’t want to fuck up this person along side her. However, these were mortals and if Bianca used her powers...
Hera please give him mercy for whoever crossed Firecracker’s path.
“Have you-“ he started, but the shake of her head cut him off right then. Oh thank gods, she hasn’t used her powers.
“Okay, so here’s what we are going to do. You are not going to hurt whoever caused this, and we’re going straight to fix you.” Leo moves to turn around his hand still gripping onto hers, getting ready to drag her to wherever.
Fate seemed to have other plans, by the way she ripped her arm out of his grip. “No, I’m going to settle this.” Firecrackers growled turning around and running in the opposite direction.
Leo stares at where Firecracker once was, a bit dumbfound expression passing over his face before he yells after her. “Bianca!” He yelled getting ready to sprint after her.
Well, he tried to sprint after her until he felt an arm wrap around his waist, hoisting him up in the air as the person zipped by. Leo nlinks his eyes when the next thing he knew, he was up in the air and screaming.
“HOLY MOTHER OF ZEUS PUT ME DOWN PUT ME DOWN PUT ME-“ Leo was not ashamed that he let out a girly scream, no siree. Let this moment pass gods dammit or so help him-
Once he felt his feet land against the safety of a roof, the son of Hephaestus places his hand against a nearby platform putting his hand over his racing heart. Yea, no this was worse than Jason picking him up and launching into the air.
“Uh, are you okay?” A voice caught him out of his panic, lifting his head up to meet the person who scared the living shît out of him.
What, or who, he was met with is a girl (who suspiciously has the same appearance as his deskmate), wearing a skin tight suit, black spots littering across her red spandex. Her hair was tied up in two pigtails, held by ribbons, a mask covering her eyes that has the same exact pattern of her suit. The first thing that came to mind...
“Marinette?” Leo asks confused, staring at the girl furrowing his eyebrows together. “Well, it’s not everyday when a beautiful girl swoops into saving me. The spandex is a good look on you.” He decided it would be best.
The way she sputtered only made him find it cute, watching the way her face went from surprise to shock, and then rounding it out into confusion. “Bu- how- how did you-“
“...It’s a mask?” Came out his own confused voice, staring at the girl in front of him. “You mean no one has noticed?!”
Maybe it was because of the mist?
Marinette, or whatever she called herself in this form, stared at the boy. “I- okay I will talk to you later about this, I have a job to do.” She got ready to throw her yo-yo, her thoughts started to jumble up with the possibility of Leo knowing. Holy crap, someone found out her ability, how is she able to tell the Master? What’s going to happen? Would she have to give up her miraculous?!
“Wait! What do you call yourself in this?” Leo stopped her, before she could leave.
Marinette turns her head towards Leo, a nervous smile spreading across her face.
“Ladybug, welcome to what we call the norm, Akumas. Bug out!”
And like that, she was gone.

I Won’t Leave
Solangelo Week 2k19: Day 5 – “Age Regression / Kid Fic” @solangeloweek
A/N: This is my first and probably last kid fic cuz I don’t get children. Also I can’t remember this time well soooo it mostly aligns with canon probably.
Read on AO3 or FF.Net or Wattpad
Will had lived at camp for some years now. He went home sometimes, but he loved it here at camp. He got to be with his friends! And all his siblings! They taught him all kinds of things, stuff that his old schools never taught. After Apollo claimed him, Will was swept up into the whirlwind that was Cabin 7. People already thought he looked like a mini Apollo, so no one was too surprised. Except Will, of course, who never stopped smiling since the moment the sun symbol appeared over his head. His brothers and sisters whooped and hollered, picking his tiny body up and tossing him in the air as they marched towards their cabin.
Will had never felt so loved and accepted, except by his own mother.
Not long after he settled into the Apollo kid life, Will’s knack for healing became apparent. His innate care for others coupled with his budding powers had his older brother Michael smiling wide with pride. Older campers began calling Will “doctor” just to see him practically glow with joy as he carefully placed band-aids on their cuts.
In Will’s little kid mind, camp was the happiest place on earth. His life outside of camp wasn’t horrible, but the abundance of people, of friends and family, all in one place made his heart swell. Helping in the infirmary and going to classes, Will made sure to get to know everyone at camp.
This included all new, unclaimed demigods that found their way there.
The day that Nico and Bianca di Angelo crash-landed at camp, Will was in the middle of archery class. At this point, he knew he wasn’t going to be the marksmen that some of his siblings were, so really, Will was just enjoying his time in the sun. He blamed his next miss on the commotion coming from the new arrivals.
When everyone rushed over to see what was going on, Will, bless his 11-year old soul, went with one of his siblings to grab a medical kit in case anyone was injured. By the time they reached the crowd, he could hear whispers of two new half-bloods that felt powerful. Will didn’t really know what to make of that, but he did hear that one of them was around his age. He couldn’t wait to meet them!
The crowd dissipated and Will finally got a glimpse of the new kids – the girl was older and talking with a bunch of other girls with bows and arrows, and the boy was the one about his age, talking with Percy Jackson. The boy seemed really excitable and talkative, which made Will even more eager to meet him. But, it would have to wait because Chiron was shooing everyone away to get things sorted out.
It wasn’t until a little later that Will got to talk to the kid.
“Hi!” Will bounded right up to him, bright smile and all. “I’m Will! What’s your name?”
The dark-haired boy turned to him, eyes lighting up on sight. “Hi! My name is Nico. I’m 10.”
“Oh! I’m 11,” Will smiled wide. Then, he noticed the boy, Nico, holding something in his hands. “What’s that?”
Nico gasped with excitement, like he momentarily forgot what he was doing before. “These are my Mythomagic cards!” He shoved them in Will’s face so he could see. “It’s a game! All the characters and monsters are from Greek mythology. Which is real here? Or everywhere, I guess? That’s so cool!”
Will was ecstatic, even if he had never heard of the game before. He nodded enthusiastically anyway. “Yep! It’s all real stuff. My dad is Apollo,” he said with pride.
Nico nodded sagely. “Ah, yeah, that makes sense. I think you kind of look like him. All golden and pretty. I was with him earlier.”
Will deflated a little. “You… you met him?”
“Mhm,” Nico nodded. “I drove his chariot!”
“Oh,” Will looked down and kicked at the grass. “I’ve never met him.”
Nico’s eyes widened in panic that he’d made Will sad. He rushed out, “Well, at least you know who your dad is.” His eyebrows furrowed, as if he wasn’t sure where that came from or if he helped the situation at all.
Will looked back up and met Nico’s eyes. He saw the same sadness and worry he saw in all unclaimed campers’ eyes reflected back at him, the same look he had before he was claimed. He was quick to recover the conversation. “It’s okay! You’re new, and the gods usually don’t claim right away. They’re busy,” he shrugged.
Nico nodded again, but didn’t otherwise respond, a faraway look in his eyes. Will wanted to make everything better, so he blurted out, “Can you teach me?” Nico blinked at Will, clearly confused. “The game. Mythomagic.” Will gestured shyly towards the deck in Nico’s hands.
Will breathed a sigh of relief when he got the reaction he wanted – Nico lit up like he’d discovered buried treasure. “Oh! Yes! Let’s play!” They plopped down right there in the grass, and Nico began chatting up a storm. “Hm, let’s find your dad first! His card looks pretty cool, he’s basically a human sun…” And on their afternoon went.
Will loved his new friend, and his new friend loved camp and the new world he was discovering.
Then, his sister left him.
“It’s not fair!” Nico stomped as he ranted to Will about what was going on. “She just, just left me! Like she doesn’t even care! She joined those hunters that hate boys. They’re gonna make her hate me!” Tears were pooling in his dark brown eyes, but Will wasn’t really sure what to say to make it better.
“You’re her brother – she won’t hate you, Nico.”
“Then why did she leave?” There was desperation in his voice that he tried to cover with anger, but Will heard it loud and clear.
“I… I don’t know.” This was something that he would go to his older brothers for. He had asked the same question about his father, but even then, the only positive response was that he was busy. So many of his siblings resented their father for never visiting them. Will wanted to love his dad, as a kid should, but it was hard to do when he never met the guy.
Nico’s situation was much different from a god. And Will didn’t have an answer. So, he did the next thing he knew to do. Will lunged forward and engulfed Nico in the warmest hug he could muster. Nico was startled for a moment, but he immediately brought his arms up and squeezed tight. It was desperate and fierce, and so very needed. For as long as Nico could remember, which wasn’t much thanks to the Lethe, only his sister ever hugged him like this. Only Bianca knew when Nico needed comfort most. Whether Will was pushing some healing powers out right now or not, Nico felt safe wrapped up in his arms.
“I’m sorry, Nico. But I’m here for you – I won’t leave you.”
Nico smiled a watery smile into Will’s neck, gripping his back a little tighter. “Thanks, Will.”
After a beat, he added, “I won’t leave you either.”

I’m happy that you like to hear people’s thoughts about subplots and ideas and such. I just got so caught up thinking about the time right after he was claimed and how “everyone was afraid of him” and how different his experience might have been if instead he could’ve met people with the undercurrent of “this kid might be my sibling” and that’s really neat :) I absolutely, 10000% look forward to whatever you write next!!!
I do! (About hearing people’s thoughts on subplots, ideas, and so on.) :)
Heads up I’m going to break this reply in two parts. The first part is about claiming or rather Percy not being claimed and what that means later on in the series. The second part will be about his SPQR tattoo. Okay, onto the the first part, claiming:
1.) Annabeth canonically assumed Percy was Zeus’ son even after Percy became the supreme lord of the camp’s plumbing (which Percy doesn’t become in this verse). It isn’t till she sees the water healing Percy that she puts the pieces together and then BAM Percy gets claimed.
This is honestly a fair guess because in Greek mythology Zeus had the most children. This is also supported by the fact Zeus has the most demi-god children in PJ series.
Before someone points out Hazel, Bianca, Nico, and I’m pretty sure it’s hinted in the books Hitler was Hades’ son and that three confirmed children of a big three beats the two (Thalia and Jason) children Zeus has let me remind you that Hades stopped having children after the oath was made that was result of the great prophecy and of their children being too powerful (about WW2).
Hades actually kept his oath which both is something Greek mythology supports in two different ways but that’s a discussion for another day. (I haven’t had caffeine yet. My cup of tea is still steeping.)
Zeus had two children after the oath - one who Annabeth personally knew - while
Poseidon only had one and Hades had none after the oath.
So it was a valid guess to assume Zeus had fallen off the bandwagon again.
Grover, on the other hand, states that he believed Percy is the son of a minor god or goddess.
We never officially (key word officially) get Chiron’s guess on Percy’s parentage but
I think it’s telling that out of everything he could have done Chiron gave Percy  Riptide during the school’s trip to the museum.
It’s apparent in the chapter after Percy vaporizes pre-algebra teacher that Grover and Chiron knew she was a Kindly One (plus I just remembered in the first chapter that Percy made a remark after sententious that she was pure evil and Grover agreed). There’s also the fact it’s stated several times throughout the series that Grover, and I’m sure it’s a safe assumption Chiron too, could smell monsters. Even if they couldn’t smell that there was a fury in the school they would have noticed her appearing one day and manipulating the mist. (Thalia states TTC that Chiron taught her to manipulate the mist.)
So Chiron must have known Mrs.Dodds was a monster. If he didn’t carry a weapon with him that would be beyond stupid (maybe he can’t personally interfere since there’s red tape for everyone but a demi-gods who only held back by their own bravery but that doesn’t mean Chiron couldn’t have kept a weapon to give Percy in case he needed it which he does) especially when Percy states in the book Chiron had a collection of weapons he would let the class mess around with.
Out of all the weapons Chiron - Chiron who manipulates the mist, Chiron who had been training demi-gods for hundreds of years, Chiron who had a stash of weapons he let his class play around with - could have kept on him it’s Riptide - the sword Poseidon gave him - that Chiron gives to Percy.
So even though Chiron is never officially guessed Percy’s parentage I think he had already guessed right in the privacy of his own mind. (This is something I hint about in the series.)
Okay, so that’s Annabeth, Grover, and Chiron’s guesses in canon.
It would be fair for other campers to assume that Percy was a child of Zeus because he was the only big three known to break the oath at the time (Thalia) and seriously the god could not keep in it his pants in Greek mythology. You would be surprised how many people are attributed to being Zeus’s. There actually are a few bad guys in Greek mythology that are sons of Zeus and some of Hades’ children that could be his are also said to be actually Zeus (Macaria, Zagreus, and Melinoe).
But the kicker is Zeus doesn’t claim him.
It doesn’t matter what you or anyone thinks. If the kid isn’t claimed they have to stay in the Hermès Cabin. (Which really sucks if you’re a child of a god or goddess who isn’t an Olympian. Even if you’re claimed you still have to live in that overcrowded cabin because the camp only had twelve cabins until the end of TLO.)
Zeus who apparently didn’t just only turn Thalia into a tree to save her life (and finally give the camp some protection) but kicked up a fuss on Grover failing to retrieve Thalia to camp safely.  (It’s mentioned throughout the series Grover was given shit about not saving Thalia and that Zeus doesn’t like him. I know for a fact Zeus still holds it against Grover because I reread the scene in TLO where the gods rewarded the heroes; I’m working on an oneshot with trans female Percy - Helen - that takes place in that scene.)
So to most campers who were old enough to know about Thalia and the story behind the pine tree that protects them or were told about it by someone who did...it’s very telling and makes them wonder that Percy might not be Zeus’ son.
That who knows...he could be the son of just a normal Olympian, a minor god, or a minor goddess.
Who ever thinks not being a son of the big three, Ares, or Athena means you’re not powerful is dumb. We see this (off the top of my decaffeinated head) in Selina (her love for Charlie makes her trick the Ares cabin to defend New York which saves the battle, Clarisse’s love for Selina makes her slay a drakon that Percy with the Achilles’ heel couldn’t do, and there’s also the fact her telling Luke of Percy and Charles plans to blow up the cruise ship could have turned the tides of war if Kronos had been able to kill Percy too) who was a daughter of Aphrodite, when see this in Meg in ToA who is the daughter of Demeter whose children Annabeth brushed off in TLT, and in Luke who was a leader for the Titan’s army until Kronos possessed him and fought Percy (the son of Poseidon, of the big three, while Luke was only the son of Hermes).
Demi-gods are important- this is stated several times in the series because they are only held back by their bravery, their hubris - no matter their parentage.
In the last chapter I had a parts where Percy (who was told he was a pawn by Gaea) realize his worth and honestly this can apply to any demi-god who survives long enough and realizes their worth (the gods need demi-gods because the demi-gods are not held back but by their bravery):
1.) “Percy would not be a victim nor would he longer be a pawn that Gaea had told him he was before promising to persevere him if he went north. Didn’t they know about the thing called promotion in a game of chess? Percy had still had not played a round of the game (he had kept meaning to download an app for it) but he had googled about pawns and the thing was if a pawn survived long enough and got to the other side of the board they could become anything but the king.
And Percy?
He was no longer a pawn because Percy had survived. Yet the thing was Percy had to wonder at what had been the cost. He wondered if had become a monster along the way because don’t you know? Monsters are made, not born. And two wars had certainly made Percy into something: a child killer, a person who watched his best friend die to bomb a cruise ship which Kronos had still survived, someone who intimately knew the smell of burnt human flesh from the pyres of fallen comrades, but Percy had not been made a good person. A good person didn’t talk the person, the titan Bob, they claimed (they lied) to be their friend and convinced them to murder their brother.”
2.) “There it was again: pawn. Percy was no longer a pawn. He had survived and he had become what was needed of him to save his loved ones and to live after so many quests. (And maybe what he was was a monster that no one else could see because it was under his skin - in his soul. A monster that possibly couldn’t die until this body reached sixteen.)”
3.) “I lied earlier,” Percy admitted as realization fell upon on him. (Don’t you know the king is the weakest player? Don’t you know if the pawn survives across the journey to the other side of the board it can become anything but the king?) Percy thought of Calypso and of vows sworn to the river of Styx. Percy remembered how Hera had told him he was the glue that held the Seven. (Don’t you know when you make a Faustian contract with the devil you will pay for it even if it’s years later - so many years you thought you escaped him? As if he would forget after what he’s given you. You struck a deal and you were a fool for ever thinking he would let it slide without payment. Not after he’s given for you because he gave you his soul in the end when he only meant to give you victory of your wars.) “When I said I was sorry and that it wouldn’t save either of us.”
Okay, that was the end of part one of my reply. I’ll try to write the second part later today. (When I post the second part I’ll come back to edit this post so there’s a link to the second part of the reply.)
