rushing through the woods, you couldn’t catch your breath.
the moon was at it’s highest it’s ever been, practically blanketing the world in seeming never ending moonlight. the stars lit the sky like flickering light bulbs that were just almost dying out. you couldn’t tell if it was due to the clouds or just the tears in your eyes as you were rushing past the trees but being continuously smacked with leaves and branches that you couldn’t register.
your senses were practically numb. you had lost both shoes way before you were making it to god knows where. your feet were being punctured from the small thorns, sharp twigs and bramble bushes youve been running on and through. your eyes were watering nonstop due to the feeling of fear overflowing from you. even wiping them with your battered sleeves weren’t helpful considering you couldn’t tell if these would be your last moments on earth or not. your ears were ringing from the hard cardio you were doing (and also from the fact you were tossed around earlier by some people who said they were just “missionaries”).
as sweat dropped down your face, it trickled in with the blood from the cut on your head. some of it had gotten into your mouth, practically hydrating you. it was horrible but what could you really do in this situation? as much as you hated the taste of salty and metallic liquid, you didn’t have the time to stop and just drink some nasty water in the woods.
hearing the crackle of branches behind you, you pushed forward till you fell flat on your face.
you groaned and grunted, crying as you gripped the ground beneath you and yelled. the dirt under you was cooling and soft enough to basically be a resting place for you. you turned onto your back, heaving and huffing, feeling that you were about to barf from running almost what you thought was a million miles when in reality, it was probably only six. lifting your head up and angling it back, your eyes saw about almost a hundred acres of more trees. slowly lowering your head, you gulped and sighed.
slowly closing your eyes, you heard the leaves atop of your head crunch. you immediately rolled onto your side, using your weak arms to prop yourself up as you stared into the face of a blonde woman. she was covered in a cute and flowy navy blue dress that was patterned in dark ruby red and almost darked yellow flowers. it was complemented with a gray cardigan. her bottoms were black heel boots, not an exaggerated heel but something to give her some height. her hair was somewhat like a bob yet curled slightly.
“oh my! what are you doing here, darling?” she questioned anxiously, helping you up. slowly climbing up by holding onto her hands tightly, the breeze picked up as you whimpered and looked around hurriedly. looking past the woman was now a stone building, making you furrow your eyebrows and more confused but you were in a time crunch.
“darling?” she asked, now noticing her british accent as she looked at you. you shook your head to get out of your trance of wondering why and how this random building was here but that didn’t matter.
“w-we need to go! there’s people after me and i can’t explain but please!” you begged, stuttering and shaking as your legs were sore. you were shaking like a newborn baby deer.
you saw her green orbs examining you, as she pursed her lips and nodded. she wrapped her arm around yours and helped you limp towards the doors while whispering small “i got you’s.”
making your way towards the rustic walnut doors, she grabbed the black outward curved handle and pushed the door open. your head began to swing as you didn’t have any energy left in you to even power through and tell her the dangers you were facing. as your head hung low, you saw the designs of the floor, seeing geometric shapes on it. the lighting in the building was not the best, considering most of the lights were yellow and some lamps were covered in red shades. in the center of the building was the statue of a woman, or three?
she was a stone statue with three faces. behind her was a tree. one face was a woman that looked like a young adult, wearing a crown of what seems to be leaves, the center being an upside down waning moon. the second was a middle aged woman, wearing the same style of robe as the previous. her crown was almost similar, except instead of leaves, she had almost crosses, spread equidistant from one another. in the center of her crown was an upside down waxing moon. the last woman seemed to look more elderly, as her design depicted wrinkles under her eyes and there was an aura that exuded from her. her crown was more decorated than the other two. in the center was what appeared to be the full moon, while protruding on both sides were small flowers. all three women had their right hand above their stomachs, while the left was under. it was almost as if they were caressing their wombs like a mother would.
as you two staggered towards what was hopefully a place to rest, you saw the faces of now almost a dozen, maybe even more, kids who looked like you. you saw them whispering, hoping that whoever ran this “establishment” didn’t immediately kick you out for getting blood all over their floors. feeling the cold marble touch your wounded feet was almost as if you touched ice for too long. rather than being cooling, it burned like you were wading through a river of rubbing alcohol.
you both were now in a hall that was decorated in what seemed to be solely black wallpaper that had flowers on them. the walls had some art pieces but they were odd. they depicted almost hell-ish landscapes but i mean if that was the vibe then they obviously did a great job. as you both turned a corner, you pushed past two doors as you saw three bodies in what appeared to be an office.
“i’m telling you, i-” the words emanating from the other woman’s husky voice was cut short by the sudden rushing.
the blonde woman had helped you make your way towards a small burgundy satin victorian couch, unlinking her arm from yours as she helped you down gently. she reached for a small dark brown throw pillow, propping it under your head, brushing away your strands of [h/c] hair. she made sure not to brush the cut you had on your [s/c] temple. she looked towards the other’s in the room, who were immediately gathering around you as you tried to catch your breath.
“who did this?” the husky voiced woman demanded. she wore a dark navy pant suit that had a lace collar layered over it. her ginger hair was straight down, yet somewhat curled like the blonde’s. she also had some hair covering part of her forehead yet not reaching her eyes, which were a piercing blue green.
next to her on her right was a tall dark skinned man, who was dressed in what was assumed to be an almost 1980’s fashion. he was dressed in a tan corduroy jacket, underneath a simple black graphic tee and washed out bell bottom jeans. though he was somewhat nice to look at, there was someone else who caught your eye past your disheveled hair.
on her left stood a built man (well, teenager). he was dressed in a greaser’s outfit. he was dressed in almost all black, his top being a black leather jacket with the smallest pop of color from under his sheer red shirt. his bottoms were baggy black jeans and he had on leather boots. his hair was dark black, yet the light made it lighter than you expected. his dark brown eyes were scanning your body.
“i just found them like this, zelds.” the blonde worriedly informed, trying to intake all the wounds you were showing. the ginger haired woman stepped forward. hearing her name made her seem as if she was more learned than the others. something about her radiated command and leadership. looking at the blonde woman, she radiated comfort and almost literal warmth.
“child, who did this?” the woman, zelds, asked in a hushed yet angered voice. she was almost maternal yet she had no idea who you were.
you gulped, clutching your stomach as you could feel the bruise from earlier almost growing rapidly. you cleared your throat, even though you knew the words would come out hoarse.
“i d-don’t know,” you pushed out, “all i know is that they are coming and they won’t leave till i die.”
as you spoke the last word, tears began to form in your [e/c] eyes. the boy in leather kneeled down, reaching your eye level as he held onto your hand. he wiped away the dropped tear as he slowly formed a soft smile.
“you won’t die today, got it?” he reassured softly. you chuckled softly, which soon erupted into a cough but it made you feel a bit comfortable. how can a very handsome man say that to someone who was barefoot and practically battered down. the others in the room caught the small moment you both shared, exchanging looks but soon returning back to the matter at hand.
“did you happen to catch their names?” the tan jacketed man asked. you shrugged slightly, wiping your eyes as you slowly sat yourself up.
“i don’t remember but they sounded like…biblical? like an arathmiel or whatever thing is religious.” you told the rest.
looking at them all, they exchanged a look of something that seemed to be worry, but more of determination. the ginger hair woman clenched her fists, looking at the two beside her.
“hilda, tell the students that we need to begin an extermination process. ambrose, with me.” she directed. your eyes widened at the immediate need to take action after you had told them that small bit of information. turning her attention to the two of you, she cleared her throat.
“nicholas,” the boy in black looked up, “tend to them.” she ordered. the boy who was still holding your hand, nicholas, nodded as he locked eyes with you. even though you practically had no blood in you, you felt your cheeks flush to a soft rosy color. having noticed, he smirked and slowly linked your arms together. he helped you up, slowly following behind the pair who was making their ways towards the exit/entrance.
as you all made your ways towards the doors, they appeared to fly open before the pant suited woman had reached them. peering over her shoulder from behind, you saw the two assailants who had attacked you in your simple and somewhat “owned” apartment.
“hello, witch.” the bulkier assailant spat. his words were laced with venom. he was dressed in a navy blue sweater, with a dress shirt collar peeking from behind. his pants seemed to look like black slacks, but that wasn’t so important to you when you were trying to escape. in his right hand, you saw the weapon he had tried to use against you. it was a simple knife (or in his words, “the dagger of salvation.” like okay, fucking weirdo). his hair was a dirty blonde yet it looked practically unmoved. beside him was the other assailant. she was in the same outfit yet in her hands was a crossbow.
the commanding woman stood on the highest step, looking down at the two “missionaries.”
“i am zelda spellman, directrix of this academy and you two are trespassing.” she said, her words laced with something that seemed to be a kindness. the man beside her stared at them, slowly pulling out what seemed to be a metal rod.
the two assailants chuckled, before the younger female had fired the arrow. immediately raising her hand, the arrow had stopped in mid air. following her, the other man, ambrose, focused his attention onto the arrow.
(1) “Ianuae sagittae!*” he exclaimed gruffly. the arrow then vanished before you. your eyes widened, looking at the sight in front of you.
“we know you never come peacefully, so we upped our defenses since last.” nicholas hissed at them. this side of him, even though having just met, was something you could really get used to. seeing the two look down at the floor, they were entrapped in a circle that seemed to be gray ash and flowers. trying to move their feet, they couldn’t budge.
zelda smiled, looking down upon them. “enjoy the little time you have while we help you on your journey home.”
turning on her heel, she marched back into the building (or academy?). ambrose had ran in, while nicholas helped you power through. making your way into the center of the academy, you had noticed a bunch of students now surrounding the statue, hands locked with one another. you had looked at them all, wanting to stop and help yet you were nudged by the one holding you.
“c’mon, they got it.” he whispered, helping you make your way to wherever he was taking you.
as you walked, he opened the doors to what he said under his breath was “the infirmary.” seeing the nearest bed, he gently laid you down on the pearl colored cotton sheets. he sat at your feet, looking down at you as he held your fingertips and began to whisper softly. looking at him, his eyes were closed, like he was focused on something.
you exhaled softly, feeling the pain you felt almost become nonexistent. nicholas opened his eyes, chuckling as he inched closer and held your hand.
“i did what i could for the pain before hilda comes and helps you get better.” he explained. you nodded, taking in a deep breath of relaxation. as you looked down at him, you chuckled softly.
“don’t worry, i got you.” he encouraged, making you feel at ease. maybe you could get used to this place.

A/n: I apologize for the shortness of it, but I wanted to write something with little time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You rushed out of your room, your brother waiting for you outside. – “Got everything?” – he asked removing himself from against the wall. You hummed loud with your backpack strap hanging over one shoulder. – “I’m actually quite excited about doing classes outside.” – you told him as he followed your pace. Nick scratched the back of his head with a nod. – “Yeah sure it is something else.” – he answered.
You nudged him in the rib for his obvious lack of enthusiasm. – “What?” – Nick said smirking. – “Nothing just your enthusiasm is to die for.” – you responded with a laugh. – “That could be arranged sister.” – he came leaning in closer with a wide smile. Shoving him away from you, you rolled with your eyes. Hiding that smile on your lips. Nick and you rounded the corner coming into the open hall with the statue of the dark lord.
By the entrance stood the Weird sisters. They turned at the same time making Nick quirk his eyebrow up. Elegantly they walked in sync over to you. – “Y/n.” – Prudence purred out with a catty smile. – “You must be cold darling.” – She snapped with her finger as Agatha undid her of her jacket.
“We wouldn’t want you to have a cold in this lovely weather.” – Agatha spoke placing the jacket over your shoulders. Nick furrowed his brows. – “Why are you so tentative to my sister?” – he questioned dumbfound by their charm towards you.
Dorcas sighed deep with a shake of her head. – “Little Nickie.” – she said belittling him a bit. Nick gave her a disgusted look, clearly not liking her tone as she grabbed his shoulders. – “We like your sister.” – she whispered in his ear. Nick brushed her off him, brushing his hand over his ear with a shudder. – “We adore her.” – Agatha said hugging you from the side. Prudence stared at Nick. – “She is ours to share.” – she stated as Nick pulled you back.
“Not in hell.” – Nick answered with mockery in his voice. Prudence pulled her lip up in annoyance. – “Nick.” – you said gently touching his arm. – “It’s alright. They are very gentle with me. I promise you they aren’t doing anything weird with me.” – you reassured him. – “They better not.” – Nick answered brushing his thumb down your cheek.
Agatha cleared her throat wanting your attention again.  Dorcas grabbed your hand pulling you closer to them. – “Come Y/n let us escort you to class.” – Prudence said wrapping an arm around you. Dorcas took your other arm, letting her head lean against your arm.
Nick sighed deep going after you. The Weird sister’s couldn’t stop touching you, wanting you close. A cool breeze swept some leaves over the ground. The coming of October slowly announcing itself. A glamorous season for witches.
Prudence closed your jacket better so no wind could draft underneath your clothing. – “Warm kitten?” – Prudence asked while Dorcas was stroking your arm. You hummed softly seeing your brother roll his eyes behind you. Nick came closer pestering the Weird sisters away like a flock of annoying birds. Waving his hand around for them to move. They hissed at him, clamping even harder onto you.
“Oh get over it!” – Nick called out annoyed taking you by the arm. He pulled you away from them. The Weird sisters started to cry and whine loudly at the loss of you. – “Babies.” – Nick told you as he kept pushing you away from them. – “Don’t you ever get annoyed with them?” – he asked. You had to think for a second. – “Not really… sure they can be invasive, but they are always gentle and sweet with me. Unlike any stunts they performed on Sabrina.” – you and Nick recalled it very clearly how wicked the Weird sisters were towards Sabrina Spellman when she first came to the academy.
They never did any tricks like that on you for some reason. It was as if you had charmed them by just being present. They worshipped you. Nick and you walked into the forest close to the academy to where the class would be held. Some leaves already started to fall. Leaving you with that cozy end of September feeling. Fall was your favorite season. Pale trees. Crunchy leaves scattered on the ground. Pumpkins, full moons, and witchy hours.
By the witches circle of mushrooms stood Sabrina. She waved at Nick. Nick and you waved back at her. Nick patted you on the back going over to her. The moment Nick had left your side, you felt a pair of hands grab onto you. Getting pulled a bit back, there were more hands on you. – “Little kitten I have missed you.” – Prudence said brushing her cheek against your shoulder.
Agatha nodded with pouted lips letting her head rub against your upper arm. Dorcas stood on the other side stroking your arm with delight. The three of them guided you towards the witches circle forcing you to sit down. Agatha came laying her head down on your lap. Dorcas and Prudence each by your side. Dorcas took out your book, holding it open for you.
“Can you read it well enough?” – she asked holding it up. You nodded with a soft hum taking the book from her. – “Shall I take your notes Y/n?” – Prudence offered. – “That is alright Prudence.” – you told her. Agatha looked up to you with sweet eyes. – “Pretty sister.” – she said humming afterwards. Prudence nodded. – “If you didn’t have a blood link with Nickie, you’d be our fourth sister in a heartbeat.” – she said.
The teacher arrived as he didn’t say anything about how the Weird Sisters hung over you. Dorcas kissed your cheek sweetly during class. Agatha played a bit with your hand as Prudence kept brushing her hand over your back. It was still a bit of a mystery how the Weird sisters came to like you. From across the witches circle you saw your brother shake his head in disappointment. You simply shrugged your shoulders not even minding that much.

A year after the debacle with Vengeance and her brother's near-death, Aria Wiseman finally has a moment to relax among friends with a night of karaoke and games.
"Aria."
Kent's cool voice filters through Aria's busy thoughts, cutting through in that usual way he has of grounding her, of bringing her back to reality. He entwines his fingers with hers, hands cold to the touch—as usual—and kisses her temple, taking a spot standing next to her by the kitchen counter.
She'd stolen a seat on the counter a few minutes ago, when the shouting over who got to sing what next got a little too loud. Gray was insisting on singing ABBA, and while everyone thought his enthusiasm was admirable, his talent is anything but. Aria left right before Nick lunged to wrestle the mic away from him.
Not that Nick is any better of a singer.

Can you pleasssse write about how Nick and Sabrina start dancing in the start of 2x03? Did they go together? Meet up there? How did they start dancing?
come to me, cover me
a/n: Title is from Chains of Love by Erasure, the song in the episode dance scene.
She senses him before she sees him, like always. As the slow music pulses through the room, she resists a smile.
“Fancy meeting you here,” Nick murmurs.
Without turning her head, Sabrina glances at him. He steps closer, only a breath away. His heat hits her left arm, and she has to fist her hand to keep it from reaching out to brush his.
Nicholas Scratch is magnetic, and she has not decided if that is a problem for her or not.
“Well, if I had known you’d be here, then maybe I wouldn’t have let Ambrose convince me to come,” she says, but without heat.
Nick grins, eyes twinkling with satisfaction, no doubt at sensing the lie in her words. Sabrina shakes her head, rolling her eyes.
The music changes suddenly, to something upbeat. Nick opens his mouth, but she cuts him off.
“Told Ambrose I would dance at least once tonight.” She pushes off the wall, walking backwards into the crowd in the middle of the room.
“Really?”
The warmth in his voice sends shivers (the good kind) down her spine, as does the look on his face as he saunters after her.
With a wry smile, she clarifies, “I promised him a dance, specifically.”
Nick laughs, gesturing over her shoulder. “Seems that he’s already occupied.”
Turning around, Sabrina sees flashes of Ambrose between the writhing bodies of the Weird Sisters. She sighs in exasperation, debating a return to the edge of the room. The crowd has surrounded her, however, and then...Nick is behind her.
“Dance with me?” he whispers into her ear. “Please.”
She turns her head, his mouth coming into view.
“Please, Sabrina?”
It’s the way that he says her name that does it, and then she is moving to the beat, with Nick behind her, then in front of her, all around her–and it feels good.

Authors Note: I'M BACK!! SO so so so terribly sorry to make you all wait... had a bit of a meltdown #mentalhealth.... not because of this.. just life in general.. Anyway this one is a bit long, but I had to get it out and include a bit of Caliban at the end.. Give me your thoughts, questions, concerns! I'm ready! thank you to all the readers it really means a lot for anyone to be reading this.. <3 xoxoxo
Summary: Just read lolol lots of new characters.. a plot is a brewin’!
PART 8:
You felt a scratching feeling on your back. Your eyes slowly opened, afraid to look at your surroundings. Squinting, you scanned the area. It was still dark out, so you knew you hadn’t been unconscious for long. Your head prickled with a sharp pain, realizing that you had been hit on the back of the head. ‘But from what?’ you asked yourself. You pushed yourself up on your forearms, blinking to readjust your eyes to the darkness. You felt twigs and leaves underneath you. You were in the forest. ‘How the hell did I get here?’
Out of the corner of your eye you saw a shadow pass by to your right. Quickly, you pulled yourself together and pushed yourself off the ground. A gust of wind knocked you right back down. Coughing, due to the air being knocked out of you, you tried to sit up. A foot pressed down on your chest forcing you back to the forest’s floor.
You glanced up and you couldn’t believe it. An angel stood over you. Growing up hearing about the stories your mother told you about angels, this is not how you thought you’d meet one. They were supposed to appear in times of need. They were supposed to guide you, not shove you down, trapping you.
“Well boys, look what we have here.” You saw two other angels swiftly fly down to your left. “Get off of me!” you rasped, barely any air in your chest, with the foot still pressing down on your chest. “Oo! She’s a feisty one boys!”
“That’s enough Aza, let her go.” a voice from behind you echoed.
Just as quickly as the boot landed on your chest, it was gone. You gasped for air, rolling over the pile of leaves and twigs, coughing until you could breathe normally again. Slowly you stood up, your eyes now used to the darkness, you saw three angels to your left and one circled from the right, so that it was standing a few feet in front of you.
Two of the three angels on the left had stoic expressions on their faces, like they did not want to be here. They looked like twins. They were broad-chested men, both with dark brown hair that came down to their shoulders. Their eyes were deep-set and almost onyx colored. The other angel, assuming it was the one they called ‘Aza’, had a devilish grin, not like Caliban’s, this one had an ulterior motive. One you sensed would cause you harm. His air was as wild as his eyes. Black with a streak of white hair that framed the left side of his face. His left eye was also white, the right black. He wasn’t as muscular as the twins, but his shoulders were still broad. All of their features were striking, and ominous, but they perfect in a way.
All of them had large stark white wings protruding from their backs. So large, that they dusted the ground beneath them.
The angel that told Aza to get off of you was taller than the other three. He towered over them. His wavy hair came just below his ears. It was a dusty brown color, almost grey. His eyes were a piercing blue. Like sapphires. His cheeks were curved in, in a harsh way, but it fit his stature. He looked older than the others. His skin had a grey hue to it and his long fingers looked gargoyle-like. His wings were a darker shade of grey. They were shiny, as if oil covered them.
“Y/N, please accept my deepest apologizes for my brother’s manners. He hasn’t been to Earth in over a thousand years and he took capturing you a bit out of hand.”
You kept your mouth shut, unsure of what to say first.
“Allow me to introduce myself and my brothers.” Gesturing his hand to the angel to your right, “This is Azazel, Aza for short. Next to him are Rameel and Sariel. I am Arakiel, your father.”
Your eyes went wide, and it felt like the air had been knocked out of you once again. You took a few steps back unsure of how to escape this situation.
This man, or angel, you should say, is your father. The father who your mother said was dead since you were a child. The father who visited you on your birthday eve, only you were unaware. The father who wanted you to join him to take down Pandemonium, Sabrina... Caliban. Caliban. Your mind went to him, was he ok? Was he safe? Had they captured him?
“You’re not my father, you may be my biological one, but a father is there for their children.”
“You sound just like your mother. So strong-minded.” Arakiel retorted.
A chill went down your spine, something about the way he mentioned your mother wasn’t right.
“I assume you’ve spoken to her in the last day. She mentioned how much you’ve grown since I last saw you.”
“Why are you here? What do you want? Why now?”
The three other angels slowly started to encircle you. The hairs on the back of your neck perked up.
“You see, Y/N, your 18th birthday is coming up, as well as the Spring Equinox. The equinox is of the utmost importance for different sects of beliefs: your birthday just happens to fall near that.” You could feel your face drain of its color and warmth. “I need you. Our kind needs you. We need to make certain that Lucifer, your witch friend, and Caliban do not ascend to the throne of Pandemonium.”
You could feel a cold breath on the back of your neck. You knew Aza was right behind you. “Why me? What does either of their ascensions have to do with you?” you questioned.
“Their growing power has caused a rift in Pandemonium as well as Heaven. Creatures are seeping out of hell and disrupting humanity. Creatures like the Green Man pagans, Gallus, and Hellhounds.”
Your gaze shot to the man who claimed to be your father. “Why?” you countered.
“Because they have sensed a shift in power. When Lilith claimed the throne, while my brother was—incapacitated,” Arakiel let out a dry laugh, “she disrupted everything that was set in stone. Lucifer was meant to fall. Though he betrayed God, he was God’s favorite. God granted him Pandemonium as a parting gift.”
“This is definitely not something I learned in Sunday school” you whispered to yourself.
Arakiel cocked his head, never breaking eye contact with you. He continued on, “Lilith’s overthrowing of the throne, like I said before, caused a disrupt in everything that was meant to happen. A mere woman has caused everything to fall apart” he said with a grimace. “But a woman can be of use to me.” Arakiel stalked toward you.
You went to back up, only to bump into one of the angels. Aza grabbed your right arm, squeezing his marble-like hand into your forearm. The third angel did the same on your left. Arakiel was only inches away from you.
“I need you to do a task for me Y/N. I need you to get Sabrina to fall in love with Caliban.”
Your heart dropped. Why would he ask you to something like that? Why does that have anything to do with Pandemonium? Even though you had only known Caliban for a short period of time—well a day... damn. It did not feel like a day. You felt like you had met him before, like you were meant to be with him. Your chest felt empty when you were away from him. You didn’t want to admit this to yourself because of everything that had happened with Sabrina and the contest, and the fact that he is the prince of hell. But you knew you could never be with him, prophecy or not, it wasn’t right to be with him.
“Caliban.” You repeated to yourself quietly. You didn’t think the hands around your arms could get any tighter, but they did when they heard that name.
Arakiel dropped his head, so that he was level with yours, “I know how you feel about the prince of hell, daughter. I need you to do this or else the world as we know it will cease to exist… that includes your mother.”
Your gaze shot to him. “What have you done with my mother?” you yelled.
“She’s safe. For now, but I need you to do this, or she won’t be. As a matter of fact, she’s with us now.” His head turned toward the oak tree behind him.
Your eyes narrowed on the tree. The closer you looked at it, the more it looked like the shape of a woman. Your knees gave out. You would have dropped to the ground if your arms hadn’t been held by the angels next to you. Tears welled in your eyes as you held in a sob.
Arakiel came towards you and placed two of his skeleton-like fingers under your chin, lifting your head up. “She’s alive, but for how long … well that’s up to you. She will never be able to morph back into human form again”
You shook your head. “Why are you doing this to us? To her? I thought you loved her.”
“At one in point I did, I still do, but time moves differently for us. Angels, demons, nymphs, gods. We get bored” he replied.
Your heart ached for your mother. She didn’t seem to have fallen out of love with your father. You shook your head, that wasn’t important at the moment, you thought to yourself. You couldn’t bear the thought of Caliban being with Sabrina, or anyone for that matter. But you couldn’t let your mother stay this way. “How do I get them to fall for one another?” you asked defeatedly.
“That’s my girl!” he exclaimed, clasping your chin. You shook your head out of his grasp.
“Unfortunately, magic will be of no use to us. Witches can sense it and demons… well demons can find a loophole. That’s what happened when we tried to do the opposite for Lilith and Lucifer. Lilith is smart for a female.”
You scoffed at his remark towards Lilith. There were moments when she acted a bit out of hand, but she had her reasons.
“We must do it the old fashioned way.” Your brows furrowed together, confused by his comment. “You must do everything in your power to make Caliban hate you. Despise you. You see daughter, Caliban feels the same for you as you do for him. You two complete one another. You felt that haven’t you?” his eyes peering into your soul. You grunted while trying to shake the angels off you, but it was no use. He smiled confirming his suspicions.
“But he also completes Sabrina. But we can’t let the two of you happen, Lucifer will have the upper hand if we do. If Caliban and Sabrina come together, taking them down will be—straightforward.”
“That doesn’t make sense. Why would Lucifer have an advantage if Caliban and I were together? Why me? How will this fix the rift?”
“That answer will come in good time. As for your first question, let’s just say I’m killing two birds with one stone. I can’t let Caliban and you get together, for Lucifer will have control over both kingdoms. I can’t let that happen. It was the sole reason he was cast down in the first place.” Arakiel gave a wave of his hand and the two angels dropped your arms, causing you to fall to the ground.
You looked up as the angel hovered over you. “Do we have a deal daughter?” you looked down at the ground, not wanting to agree to this twisted plan. But Arakiel had control over your mother and that was the only family left in your life. But what about Sabrina, Roz, Theo, Harvey… Caliban? You glanced back up at the angel. A determined look on your face, caused his features to crinkle. With one swift raise of his hands, you were eye level with the angel, barely able to breathe.
“Y/N. don’t try to be the hero in this story. It will end poorly for both you, your mother, and the rest of civilization.” He dropped you back on the ground. Gasping for air, you nodded your head. “Fine. Fine. Just please let my mother go.”
“Oh no, it doesn’t work like that, I need leverage. You go through with our deal and your mother will return to you safely. You have 6 months. I will see you on the 31st of March.”
With that, a gust of wind crashed into you. They vanished.
---------
You collapsed to your knees, your hand clasping your chest, as tears streamed down your face.
How is this happening? Why hadn’t Caliban been here? He seemed to show up every other time you were in trouble.
At that moment, you heard footsteps crunching quickly through the leaves.
“Y/N? Y/N!” you heard someone call out your name.
You turned around to find Caliban running towards you. in less than a moment he had his hands on your shoulders, examining you for any injuries. “Are you alright? Why the hell are you in the woods? Were you sleepwalking?” he questioned you.
Your brows scrunched together confused by his sleepwalking comment. Only your mother knew about that. And why hadn’t he noticed me sooner. It wasn’t like he was actually asleep.
“I’m fine.” You muttered as you shrugged his hands off your shoulders.
Caliban gave you a quizzical look. “What happened to you? I noticed you go to the bathroom five minutes ago and when you didn’t come out I went to check… you weren’t there. Then I heard you calling for me…” he stated.
You shot him a sharp look. Calling for him? What was he talking about? Five minutes? You’d been gone for at least an hour… You didn’t know how you long you were unconscious for, but it was longer than five minutes. And your conversation with Arakiel was definitely more than five minutes.
“Caliban what are you talking about? I’ve been gone for longer than five minutes.”
“No, no you weren’t. I saw you get up to go get a glass of water and after a few minutes when I didn’t hear the faucet turn on I went in to check on you and then I heard you screaming my name, and I ran out here.”
Why is his time frame so off? You chewed the inside of your lip thinking how this could have happened. Unless… oh god. Aza… That’s why that name sounded familiar… He was a Time Watcher. Your mother told you stories about him, ‘Beware of the Time Watcher’, she used to say. He could freeze, disrupt and completely erase time, but it came at a price. Aza would start to age if he did it too many times. That explained the white streak, and the fact that he couldn’t see out of his left eye. Could you explain that to Caliban? Would he believe you? Would Arakiel know you told him? He seemed to know everything else. You thought it best to keep it to yourself for now.
“Yeah, I was sleepwalking. Had a nightmare, must of ended up walking out the door” you replied.
He looked at you like he didn’t truly believe what you were saying, like he could read your mind. He pushed a piece of your hair behind your ear and stared into your eyes. Your heart felt heavy, realizing how hard it would be to deceive him. But you had to do it for your mother.
You broke away from his gaze and pushed yourself off the ground. “I need to get back to the Spellman’s. I’ll see you later?”
“I can walk you back. I mean lucifer, Y/N, you ended up in the middle of the forest by yourself in the middle of the night. From sleepwalking?”
“Yeah, my mom said I would do it sometimes during the fall.” He gave you another quizzical look. “I’ve got it from here, I’ve been through this before. I’ll talk to you later.”
You turned away from him and headed back towards the Spellman’s home. Your chest started to ache again. This time for yourself.

Tell me you love me (Nick Scratch imagine)
Tumblr media
Request from @starryblueeyesandstarryblueskies : Could you do a hurt/comfort Nick scratch fic? Like maybe the reader gets hurt by one of the villains in caos?
+ Request from anon: Just an INTENSE “oh my god thank fuck you’re safe” type of scene with nick
---
“Okay, Y/N, that’s enough”
The girl turned her head to her friend. They were sitting on the stairs inside the Academy of Unseen Arts, talking about spells when the young woman had spotted Nicholas Scratch, talking to the weird Sisters.
“Enough ?” She repeated.
“Stop being distracted by Nick!”
“What ?” She straightened out. “What are you talking about, Brina ?”
“Are you kidding me ?” Her friend laughed. “Every time he walks in a room, your eyes go to him and your mind gets lost into this land of daydream you created to avoid telling him how you feel”
She puffed, averting her friend’s gaze before closing the book on her lap and getting up.
“Stop being so dramatic, Spellman. It’s not like that.”
“Oh yeah ?” She smiled. “Then why has he been staring at you with those love sick puppy eyes ever since he spotted us on the stairs ?”
Her eyes grew big and she took her friend by the hand, forcing her to walk.
“Spellman ! Y/L/N !” They hear Prudence called before they could disappear in the hallway.
Sabrina glanced at her friend, already annoyed, and turned back to the weird sisters and Nicholas.
“Hi, Prudence” She simply greeted her.
“And what is this book I see…” She pondered with a smirk. “Dark magic, huh ?”
“You do know it is forbidden to practice it” Dorcas reminded them.
“Who said anything about practicing” Y/N answered. “It’s called reading”
“Now if you excuse us, we have to go” Sabrina added.
Prudence looked them up and down before turned around, snapping her fingers at her sisters to tell them to follow her. And once again, before the two friends could go, someone stopped them. This time it was Nicholas. He grabbed Y/N by her wrist, forcing her to turn and face him.
“You’re not using any of those spells, are you ?” He asked.
“If I didn’t know better I’d say you’re worried about me, Scratch”
“I am”
“Well, don’t be.” She smiled at him. “You know I’m powerful. And besides, we have everything under control”
He looked between Sabrina and her, not entirely sure he believed them.
“If you need my help you know you can call me” He insisted.
“I know, Nick.”
“Please be careful” He called before she could get away.
“You know I always am” She sweetly smiled.
He pursed his lips, half satisfied by her answer and decided against his best judgment to let them go. Sabrina grabbed her friend by the arm, both of them making their way to the mortal realm. Half an hour later, they were sitting inside Dr.Cerberus’ coffee with Theo and Roz.
“When exactly did you noticed something was different about Harvey?” Y/N asked them.
“About two days ago. He started acting … weird” Theo answered.
“Weird how ?”
“Talking to a wall, having those spasms and drawing symbols”
“You have them ?” Y/N inquired. “The drawings”
“Yes!”
Roz got a piece of paper out of her bag. As soon as she put it on the table, the witches recognized it.
“We were right” Sabrina told her friend.
“What is it ?” Theo said.
“He’s possessed” Y/N explained. “It’s a sigil he’s drawing. It represents a lock in ancient Greek. Typically, when one’s possessed, they’ll instinctively try to protect their mind by making this”
“How … how do we help him ?” Roz continued, talking to Sabrina.
“I don’t know how to perform an exorcism guys” She admitted.
“I do” Y/N announced. “I’ll do it”
“You know it’s risky” Sabrina reminded her.
“I don’t see any other choices, Brina. Unless you want your friend to die, which will eventually happen”
She sighed, knowing the girl was right.
“How do we help you ?” Theo asked them.
“Staying away is the best option for you” Y/N told them.
“Why ?!”
“Once I’ll do the exorcism, the demon will be forced out of Harvey’s body. There’s a chance it might jump in one of yours to hide from me”
They nodded, understanding what was at stake.
“We’ll be a phone call away in case you need us”
“Don’t worry, it’s gonna be fine” Sabrina reassured them.
Once everything was settled, they made their way to the Spellman’s house. Sabrina had the idea to lure Harvey inside. The house would be empty that night so it was now or never. As the blonde witch wrote the message for her friend to come, Y/N started to prepare for the spell. Candles, cauldron with blood and ashes, a circle of salt and her book of Dark Magic were prepared for the ritual.
“As soon as he’s here, get him in the circle then close it with the salt” She explained to Sabrina.
“You sure about this ?” She asked one last time.
Her friend responded with a shrug. Before she could answer, her phone rang, distracting her. She sighed when she realized who was calling her and turned around for a bit of privacy.
“Nick” She answered.
“Hey! When are you coming back to the Academy” He inquired.
“Why ?”
“It’s almost midnight”
“So …?”
“Look, Y/N, I’m just making sure that you’re alright and not doing anything reckless”
“I told you I’d be careful, didn’t I ?”
“Yeah, well I’m aware of your definition of non-existent sense of self preservation”
“That’s offending”
“But true. Now when are you coming back ?”
“Later. I’ve got to go. Brina and I are kinda in the middle of something”
“Wait …”
She didn’t wait and hang up when she saw Harvey approaching the house.
“Ready ?”
“As I’ll ever be”
Y/N went to hide in the kitchen, waiting for Sabrina to give her a signal. She could hear them exchanged words and Sabrina kept talking to distract the possessed boy as she lured him in the living room. Everything was happening perfectly so far.
“Just sit here, Harvey” She told him. “Make yourself comfortable”
As he sat on the chair, she threw the salt she had in her fist, finishing the circle where he was now trapped.
“What is this ?” He asked, confused.
“Y/N!” She called.
The girl walked from behind him, putting him to sleep with a small incantation in latin. They exchanged one final look, ready to get to work.
“Once I’m inside, don’t come near me » She reminded Sabrina. « Do not touch me”
Her friend nodded. She took a deep breath and stepped inside the circle. Slowly, with all the patience she could conjure up, she started to prepare. Drawing signs on the floor with the blood mixed with the ashes, she started reciting a spell. Harvey started shaking, a small sign he was struggling. As she lit the large candle in front of her, she kneeled down, the last words of her spell pouring out of her mouth, sending her into a transe. Suddenly, she was gone. Her head thrown back, her eyes closed, she seemed in another dimension.
“Harvey!” She called inside her mind.
“The boy is not here” She heard a whisper behind her.
“Who are you, demon ?”
“You’re about to find out, witch”
And so her fight to free Harvey started. It was pitch black inside her mind and she could hear the demon laughing, waiting to attack. She tried to make a step but realized she could not move. Shaken, she look at her feet and saw a large pentagram, a witch trap.
“Shit” She murmured to herself.
She couldn’t reach Sabrina to tell her, she’d have to face him alone. Again, she heard him laughing. She turned around, trying to think of an escape but knew no spell would be efficient against a witch trap. Before she could realized what was happening, she felt what seemed like water on the floor. From outside, Sabrina knew something wasn’t right. Y/N couldn’t feel it in her mind but her body was shaking like crazy. Blood was rolling out of her nose and she almost seemed out of breath. Sabrina tried to call her but knew it was useless. She couldn’t help her, not from outside the circle and not by herself. Cursing, she knew who she had to call at their rescue.
“Nick, I need your help” She reached out to the boy through her mind.
“Where are you ?” She heard back seconds later inside her head.
“My house. Bring the sisters with you”
“Why ?”
“We used a spell and she’s not… I don’t think she’s alright”
“What spell ?” He asked.
“The exorcism”
“Who did it ?”
“…it’s Y/N. You have to hurry, Nick, please” She cried.
He didn’t answered back and she guessed he was rushing to get to the house. She turned back to her friend. Her eyes had turned wide. A large, empty white color staring back at nothing. It was like she had big electric jolts to her body. She could see Y/N trembling, the spasms so violent as she fought. Her body was in a tornado and Sabrina knew if she tried to even touch her it could have devastating effects.
“What the hell is going on” She heard behind her
When she turned around, the weird Sisters and Nick were standing there. The sisters stayed back, accessing the room, but Nick immediately rushed to Y/N once he saw her struggling.
“No!” Sabrina shouted.
He stopped right before crossing the line of salt encircling the young girl inside.
“What did you do, Sabrina ?!” He yelled back, his eyes glued to Y/N
“We had … we had to do an exorcism” She explained. “I didn’t know how but Y/N did. And once… once she started, her body just …”
“Why did you let her do it ?!” Nick cut her.
“Do you realize how dangerous this is ?” Prudence lectured.
“You have to help me” Sabrina said, ignoring their questions. “I can’t make her come back by myself”
Nicholas turned back to the girl, walking in front of her from a safe distance. He knew she couldn’t see him, but maybe she could hear him.
“Hey beautiful” He started to speak. “It’s me, it’s Nick. Can you hear me ?”
His heart broke when he saw her shiver more violently.
“I know you’re trapped, but I need your help Y/N”
Again, no reaction to tell him she was able to ear him.
“Try a memory, Nick” Prudence advised him.
He nodded.
“Do you… do you remember the first time we met ?” He knelt down in front of her. “You were on this rooftop, dancing by yourself. You were so beautiful. You looked like a mad woman, so I called your name but you didn’t hear me. I tried to come closer but I must’ve startled you, because you made me freeze on the spot with a flicker of your hand. I knew when you turned around that I was doomed to fall for you”
“Nick..” She whispered, almost as if speaking out loud was hurting her
“I’m here, Y/N, I’m right here love” He said back.
“I’m trapped with him”
“It’s alright, we’re here to help you get back”
“We need the demon’s name, Y/N” Prudence added, her sisters and her already in a circle.
The girl was looked straight ahead, distressed, almost conflicted by her choice.
“Once I tell you, you won’t have long” She told them.
“Why ?”
“He’ll do anything to keep us from casting him out”
“Makes sense” Agatha stated. “The power is in his name”
“Y/N” Nick called. “Which demon is with you ?”
“His name is …” She stopped herself, pursing her lips.
They could see her fighting a battle to open her mouth, to vocalize the syllable that could end her suffering.
“..B…Buka..vac” She murmured.
Prudence gasped, the simple name enough to horrify her and her sisters.
“What ?” Sabrina asked. “Who is it ?”
“He’s a demonic creature” Nicholas whispered, his eyes glued to Y/N. “He possessed people to torture them and drown them from inside”
Just as he said it, she started to hyperventilate. She opened her mouth to speak but only water came out.
“What’s happening ?” Sabrina shouted.
“Y/N, love, listen to me” Nick vehemently spoke, his eyes filling with tears. “You have to fight him back. Please, you have to…”
He couldn’t speak, his heart was breaking watching the girl he loved chocked on invisible water.
“C’mon Nick, get up” Prudence said. “Help us”
They formed a circle around her, locking their hands as they started chanting in an ancient language. Each of them in tune, they were giving strength to the young witch. Nick closed his eyes, keeping on reciting the words. He couldn’t watch her like this, it was too much. He could hear her struggle to keep the oxygen in her lungs, could guess the pounding of her heart and the fight in her head. In that moment he prayed Satan she’d keep breathing. There was a sense of urgency around them all that was more apparent than ever. They were close to losing their fight and all Nicholas could focus on was his love gasping for air. He let the tears freely roamed on his face, trying to shut the sound of her struggle.
And suddenly, it stopped. No more sound of heavy breathing or coughing, just a heavy silence. Fearful of what he would see, Nicholas slowly opened his eyes. He could swore his heart stopped beating right there when he saw her body laying on the ground. Without even thinking or realizing it, he crossed the circle made of salt and rushed to her side.
“No, no, no, no, no…” He kept whispering.
Her body felt cold, too cold to be alive. She felt like a ghost in his arms. He placed a hand of her chest, praying whatever entities could hear him to make him feel a heartbeat. He waited, but nothing happened.
“Move aside, Nick!” Prudence forcefully told him, pushing him away.
She started to pound on the young witch’s chest with all the power she could muster. Her sisters behind her were silently helping with a spell.
“C’mon, Y/N, breath” She shouted. “Breath!”
With a powerful fist she banged on her heart. The reaction was instantaneous and the girl woke up, taking a tremendous gulp of air as she regain consciousness. In doing so, and just as she arose, so did Harvey who had been asleep during the whole process of exorcism. Sabrina ran to him, wanting to make sure he was alright.
As of Nicholas, he didn’t waste a second before taking the girl in his arms, nodding at Prudence as a silence sign to thank her.
“Oh my god, thank fuck you’re safe” He whispered, crying.
Weakly, Y/N reached for him and hugged him as hard as she could.
“Thank you” She said, her head buried in his neck.
“Never, ever, do that again” He answered, taking her head between his hands. “I thought you were dead, Y/N/N”
A tear escaped her eye as she clasped her hands around his wrists, a simple way to ground herself to him.
“For a moment there I thought so to” She admitted.
Slowly, he helped her to sit.
“Harvey, are you alright ?” She asked, turning her head to the teenager.
“Yes, yes I am” He reassured her.
She closed her eyes, sighing in relief as she put her head on Nicholas’s shoulder.
“C’mon, you have to rest” Nick said. “I’ll take you back to the Academy”
She nodded.
“Sabrina, stay with Harvey to make sure he’s alright” She told her friend.
“You sure ?”
“Yes, I’ll be alright”
“I don’t want to leave you alone, not after all this” Her best friend confessed.
“She won’t be alone” Nick answered her. “There’s no way I’m letting her out of my sight”
Sabrina smiled as she watched the young boy bending to take the girl he loved in his arms. Hands clasped with Harvey’s, she watched the Sisters follow Nick and Y/N on their way back to the Academy. Through the small journey, Y/N slept. Safe in Nick’s arms, she knew she could rest peacefully. She woke up, several hours later, disoriented, in her bedroom at the Academy.
“We’re home” She heard a voice comfort her in the dark.
When she turned her head, she saw him. Sitting on her bed, his back to the wall, his eyes glued to her.
“You know it’s creepy to watch someone sleep, do you ?” She joked.
“I needed to make sure you were still breathing” He seriously stated.
She sighed, getting up to match his position. Slowly, she put her head on his shoulder and entwined their hand.
“I’m alright, Nick”
“I know” He said, closing his eyes. “But I don’t think I’ll ever be able to forget the sight of you so pale and… and almost …”
“Hey, hey! Nick look at me”
She moved, kneeling in front him.
“I’m here, I’m alive”
She took one of his hand, putting in on her chest.
“Do you feel that ? …”
With a little force, he hugged her as hard as he could. His head on her chest, his ear on top of her heart, he listened closely. She let him have a moment, knowing it must have been rough for him. They stayed like that, in each other’s arms, her hand playing with his hair, for what felt like only two minutes.
“I love you, Y/N” He whispered, admitting his feelings.
“I figured” She joked.
He playfully slapped her thigh, making her laugh.
“Aren’t you going to say it back ?” He asked.
“I guess so”
“You … I’m sorry, « you guess so » ?” He straightened up, pretending to be hurt.
“Is that ego of yours bruised, Scratch ?”
“Very much so”
She laughed before looking at him dead in the eyes.
“Then I should probably tell you a secret”
“Is it a good secret ?” He asked.
“I’ll let you decide on that one”
“Alright, I’m listening”
With a wicked smile she leaned into him, slowly putting her lips on his. It was the sweetness of passion, a million loving thoughts condensed into a short moment, a statement from both of them admitting what they refused to say out loud before.
“I love you too, Nick” she whispered in his ear.
“Best secret ever” he answered, smiling, making her laugh.

Nick walks in completely covered in blood. “What have you done?” You ask him scared for the answer. “Remember when I said I would always protect you? Always means today, tomorrow and all the days that come after that. I will never stop, not even when I die, that is what always means.” He tells you, his words are swift but clear. His dark eyes don’t leave yours for a moment. It’s as if he is looking into your soul. “You may not like the way I handle things, but at the end of the day you are safe and to me that is all that matters. You may hate me for the things I have to do to protect you, but I rather have you hate me for the rest of your life than have you dead in my arms.”

Tumblr media
You and Nick had gotten off to a particularly rocky start. Anyone who knew you knew that you could hold on to a grudge. When you had first met Nick, you had to admit that he was dashing, and you may have developed the tiniest crush on him. I mean, come on, you were a witch after all! But all those admiring thoughts flew out of your head as soon as he had opened his mouth. He was probably the most arrogant and cocky bastard you had the misfortune of meeting. He hadn’t said anything to you, but the way he spoke with the others, you just knew. This was just your first day at the Academy of Unseen Arts, but everyone already knew you. It was quite inevitable, after all, you were Sabrina’s best friend and she was pretty popular here, even if it wasn’t for the right reasons. Sabrina didn’t have this class with you, but you knew you would see her later. Meanwhile, all you could do was marvel at Nick and his big head.
As if sensing that you were staring at him, he turned around and looked at you. He cocked an eyebrow, “See something you like, Y/L/N?”
“Nothing worth seeing here, Scratch.”
You knew you were treading dangerous waters, but you couldnt help yourself. Both of you maintained eye contact with each other, as though you were under a spell, and suddenly the moment was broken by the entrance of Lady Blackwood.
“Now students, I expect that you all have memorized the lyrics of the song?”
“Good.” She exclaimed as all the students nodded.  “Miss Y/L/N, please sing the first verse.”
You could feel everyone's eyes turn towards you and you decided that it was better to die than being in the limelight. You could see the weird sisters looking at you. They looked like predators, just waiting to hound on the unassuming prey. But what really irritated you, was the way Scratch was smirking at you. Like he knew that he knew that you would fail. This ignited a fire inside you and you decided right then and there, that no matter what, you would never let that asshole have the satisfaction of seeing you fail.
Taking a deep breath and steadying your nerves, you started singing-
“It's time we put our love behind you
The illusion has been just a dream
The valley of death and I'll find you
Now is when on a sunshine beam
So bring all the young perfection
For there us shall surely be
No clothing, tears, or hunger
You can see, you can see, you can be”
You gave yourself to music and the notes. You were so engrossed in your singing that you didn’t notice that Nick was staring at you.
~
Nick was enthralled. Your voice had captured his soul and he felt...light, as though he was floating in the air. If he hadn’t known any better, he would have thought that you were a siren, lulling unsuspecting victims into your trap. Nick, would never admit this, but when he had felt someone staring at him, he had totally expected it would either be one of the weird sisters or some guy who didn’t like him. He never expected that he would be looking at you. He was rendered speechless by you. It was not your beauty that captured his eyes, but the way you carried yourself. Your eyes looked as though they could drown someone in its depths. Your stance declared that you would not kneel to anyone and your lips looked like they could kill with just words. He was unnerved by what you made him feel, and in an effort to seem cool he opened his damned mouth and released a string of words.
“See something you like, Y/L/N?”
He cursed himself as soon as the words left his mouth. There was no way that that was playing it off cool.
“Nothing worth seeing here, Scratch.”
Ah! He should have expected this. She had a mouth on her. This just made her seem more interesting. He was unable to take his eyes off her and their eyes met, as though in a match to see who would emerge victoriously. Before a conclusion could be reached, they were interrupted by Lady Blackwood. She asked Y/L/N to sing the first verse.
This is going to be interesting. He thought to himself. He couldn’t help but smirk. She looked like a deer caught in headlights. Guess the confidence was just in her posture.
Suddenly, she threw a look at him, and then, it was as though another spirit had entered her body. She gathered herself and prepared to sing. She looked captivating as hell and he could only stare at her. He imagined he looked quite ridiculous then. He felt ridiculous. But it was impossible to rip his eyes away from her. She demanded attention, even if she didn’t want it. And then, she began singing.
~
You held your breath as soon as you finished the song. It felt that if you took even a single breath then everything would come crashing down on you. However, Lady Blackwood had no such trepidation.
“Oh my! That was rather...well done.”
You finally allowed yourself to sigh in relief and looked around you. Your eyes caught Nick’s, but you diverted them as soon as they met and in doing so you missed the soft, admiring smile which graced his face.
Fortunately, the rest of the class passed without an incident, and you were practically sagging with relief as you made your way to the Cafeteria where Sabrina was waiting for you.
“Y/N/N!” She exclaimed as she waved you over. “Survived your first day I see?”
“Hardly. Most of the classes went fine, but Singing was horrible!”
‘Lady Blackwood? She made you sing too?”
“Yeah, by myself too! As if my crippling anxiety and awkwardness weren’t apparent enough.
Sabrina let out a laugh and just shrugged as if to say, School can be the worst. You gladly agreed with that.
You both continued to talk about your day but were then interrupted by Nick.
“Nick!” Sabrina happily exclaimed as you made a face upon his entrance.
“Hey ‘brina.”
“Y/L/N.” he acknowledged you with a nod
“Scratch.” You replied coldly.
Sabrina finally caught up on the tension between you. Too scared to address it, she continued to talk as though nothing had occurred. However, you were too busy staring daggers at Scratch to even listen to what she was saying. From the looks of it, Nick wasn’t paying attention to her too.
Sabrina finally gave up and decided to address the elephant in the room.
“I gather you have both met before?”
“It would be hard to forget that meeting” You replied from with a grimace.
 Nick just ignored her question.
“I see you are just as pleasant as ever Y/L/N.”
“Couldn’t find any other table which could accommodate your big head, could you Scratch?” You casually replied as you turned away from him.
“You know, you should come with a warning label. So that people know that you are just as snarky as you are pretty.”
There was a beat of silence. Sabrina looked like she couldn’t breathe, while Nick looked horrified when he realized what he had just spoken. You, on the other hand, were downright gleeful at this opportunity.
“You think I am pretty, lover boy?” You smirked.
“No, I just think you are pretty dumb.” He retorts in the most flustered and juvenile manner.
You can't help the smirk which was growing on your face. You felt evil and you liked that.
“Are you sure, lover boy? The only one dumb around here would be you. I did beat you in singing today!” You sniggered.
Pfft, please! That was just singing. You are nowhere near as capable as I am and you never will be.
The way he said that angered you. How dare he insinuate that you were not as capable as him.
While these thoughts raced through your mind, Nick just stared at you in awe. He knew that he was getting on your nerves, but it excited him. The way your eyes flashed, how your expressions changed just as swiftly as the conversation. If you had been any other person, he would have asked you out immediately. But you weren’t any other person, and he liked that about you. What he couldn’t seem to figure out though, was why you were so angry and annoyed with him. He hadn’t done anything when he had first met you. Sure, he had said a couple of things now, but you had been aggravated with him long before that. He knew he would never be able to get close to you the way he wanted. To get you flushed for him. To make you scream his name in pleasure and to make you hot for him. But he knew that you would never allow that. At least, not yet. So for now, he had to be content in just seeing you flush out of pure rage, to hear you scream his name from frustration and get hot and bothered by him.
His thoughts were interrupted when you stood up and slammed your hand on the counter. Fortunately, it wasn’t loud enough for the other students to take notice. However, you couldn’t care less even if the entire world could hear your proclamation.
“I warn you Scratch, you will be begging for mercy before the year is through and you will regret ever saying that I wasn’t as capable as you.”
“I assure you, darling, I won't be the one begging.”
If looks could kill, Nicholas Scratch would have been one very dead man.
“Dream on, lover boy.”
“Is your drama going to have an intermission soon, darling?” Nick teased.
You just gave him an evil smile,
Oh lover boy, the curtains haven’t even risen yet.
~
You had meant every word you had said to Nick that day and you were adamant to prove that to him. You studied hard and practised every spell you could get your hands on, even the ones which weren’t in the syllabus. You were the youngest in the school, and Nick had been there for such a long time. You would be damned if you couldn’t beat him.
Nick knew that you had been perfectly serious and had no intention of losing without a fair fight. He also started studying and revising.
There was an undeniable shift in the air between the both of you. There was palpable tension and everyone could feel it. The competition between you just continued to grow and everyone was roped into it. Sabrina was shocked to see you so serious, but you were her best friend and she supported you. She became your study partner and you both tackled studies together.
You and Nick spent most of your time in the library studying, Sabrina had other things to deal with, and you didn’t force her to join you. However, you would have preferred it, especially since lover boy had decided to torture you more by sitting next to you in the library. You never conversed with him, even if he tried to.
One such day, you were doing your work in the library when you were interrupted by Nick.
“Your solution is wrong.”
“Funny. I don’t remember asking for your help.” you snarked back.
“Come on Y/L/N, wouldn’t it be just easier if we tried to get along?”
“No, and you shouldn’t even be here.”
“Why not,” he asked
“Because I don’t want you here.”
Nick gave a sigh of resignation and just left the library. He really liked Y/N, and so he couldn’t bear to see her working herself to death.
You felt a twinge of guilt as you watched him leave. Maybe you had been too harsh, but you couldn’t help it. You had to pass. Failing wasn’t an option
The next day, you went to class with a determined stance. You would prove it to him. Your hand shot up in the air to answer before the teacher had even finished asking the question.
Yes, Miss Y/L/N?
You confidently gave the correct answer and turned back to throw a victorious smile to Nick. But you were surprised to see that he had never raised his hand. Maybe he didn’t know the answer, you mused.
However, when the rest of the day passed in a similar fashion you knew that he was doing this intentionally. With each passing hour, you grew more and more frustrated until you couldn’t hold it back anymore.
It confused you, you couldn’t understand why you were so frustrated by this. You should have been happy that he had given up, cause that meant that you had won. But, this felt empty and bad. That was when you realized that it wasn’t the competition you had been craving, but him and his company. The realization that you actually liked that fucker hit you like a bolt of lightning. You suddenly couldn’t breathe and had to lean against the wall to support yourself. How could you actually like him!? He had constantly made stupid remarks and his ego was so inflated that you actually wondered whether he would burst! But, even as you thought that, you started thinking about how he was nice with everyone around him. He helped the slower students and he was always courteous with everyone. Maybe you had been too quick to judge him. Sure, he got on your nerves and constantly rubbed off your wrong side, but he hadn’t been mean to you. You took a shuddering breath as you realized how wrong you had been. You groaned as you realized that you now owed him an apology, but only for being mean to him first.  You would never apologise for trying to best him because that was something he was responsible for. Your feelings for him was something you didn’t want to address yet. It would fuck up your already fucked up life.
As soon as the school ended you made your way towards the library and waited for Nick. When he started passing by the door you grabbed him by the collar and pulled him inside a secluded corner as you slammed the door shut.
The surprised expression on his face would have been rather comical, had you not been mad at him.
“What do you think you are doing!?” You practically growled at him.
“I honestly have no idea right now”
“Don’t play smart with me,” you snapped, “Why haven’t you been answering the questions?
“Because I don't care anymore!
Any thoughts you previously had about apologising to him flew out of your mind.
“What do you mean you don't care anymore?” You inhaled sharply, “You started this entire thing!”
“I didn’t know that you were going to make yourself crazy over this!”
Why do you care whether I make myself crazy over this? You started it and you are going to finish it!
Nick just pinched the bridge of his nose and exhaled, “I am not doing this Y/N.”
“Why did you start this then?”
“Because I didn’t know how else to get you to talk to me!” He finally shouted.
A queer silence descended between the both of you. He looked at you as though waiting to see your reaction. That was when you noticed how close you were standing to each other. Your bodies were practically touching, and your breaths were intermingling. You couldn’t stop your eyes from drifting to his lips. You lashes fluttered as you looked back up to him, only to see that he was staring at your lips too. You couldn’t hold back anymore. You rose on your tiptoes and kissed him. For a moment he didn’t kiss you back, and you felt like your hopes were drowning. Maybe he didn’t like you that way. But then, you felt his lips move against yours. Your hands weaved through his hair and his encircled your waist. You jumped off the ground and wrapped your legs around his waist, ankles crossed to support yourself. Your mouth never left his as he turned around and you felt your back hit the wall. It didn’t hurt you, but you just held him more tightly. Your tongues clashed and you could taste him on your mouth. His lips then left your mouth even though you didn’t want it to and he placed kisses on your neck. You both were heaving from breathlessness, but you didn’t let that deter you. You placed kisses on his cheek and felt his hands travelling up and down your waist ever so slightly brushing against the underside of your breasts. You threw your head back in pleasure as you felt him getting bolder and travelling further down your neck. His hands brushed against the sleeve of your top, but before he could push it down, the door flew open and you both parted as though struck by lightning. You turned around to see Sabrina staring at you with wide eyes.
“What the fuck happened here?”
You tried to control your breathing, and you could see that Nick was doing that too. Thoughts raced through your mind as you tried to explain the situation.
Did he regret it? Did you overstep any boundaries? You had practically attacked him and did not even give him a chance to say. With every such thought, you were getting more and more horrified. Your feelings must have been written all over your face, and Nick easily read them, however, he thought that you were horrified at the thought of having kissed him. He felt as though someone had ripped his heart from his chest. In a quiet voice, he answered Sabrina’s question,
“Nothing.”
Nothing. That word broke your heart. Nothing. That’s what you meant to him. Nothing. That’s what had happened between you two. Nothing. That’s what would ever happen between you two. That word conveyed more than enough about what you meant to him.
“I need to go.” You said, as your voice broke over the last two words.
You rushed out before anyone could see the tears streaming down your face. You could hear Sabrina following you out, asking you to stop. But you didn’t stop until you reached your home, where you finally broke down in the arms of your best friend
Nick watched in devastation as you rushed off. He thought that when you had kissed him, it was because you had actually felt something for him. But upon seeing your reaction when Sabrina stumble upon the both of you, he knew that it was pointless. With a sigh of resignation, he started making his way out of the room. Before he could do so, however, he was stopped by a hand on his chest.
Well, well, well. Looks what the cat dragged in. Heard you and Y/N finally decided to fuck the life out of each other.
“You have the rest of your life to be a jerk, Agatha, why don’t you take the day off?”
“Ooh. Snarky! I like that.” Agatha exclaimed as she fingered the collar of his shirt. “Why don’t you forget about her and let me show you a good time?”
Nick’s patience was thinning fast. He grabbed her hands off his body. “I don't have time for this Agatha.”
“Fine,” she said as she smiled evilly. But don’t come running back to me or my sisters when that bitch leaves you.”
She turned around and left the room, leaving Nick alone to ponder about everything that had just conspired.
~
“What happened Y/N?”
“I kissed him”
There was a beat of silence.
“And he kissed me back.”
More silence.
“Say something.” You pleaded as you looked at Sabrina. You both were sitting on her bed. You didn’t want to be in your house with your snoopy siblings, so you had begged Sabrina to have this conversation at her home. Sabrina was naturally dying to know what had happened so she readily agreed.
Finally, she spoke, “I thought you hated him.”
“I thought so too.” You sniffled, “but I guess I got so caught up in the stupid competition that I didn't even realize when my feelings for him started changing. But it doesn’t even matter now. He doesn’t like me back the way I do. I was nothing to him.”
Sabrina felt helpless as she looked at you.
“You should forget about him. You deserve someone who actually likes and doesn't just use you as a pastime. You deserve more Y/N”
You knew that what Sabrina was saying was correct but you couldn’t forget about Nick so easily. You needed some time alone.
“You’re right,” you said as you stood up from the bed. “I do deserve more, I just need som-some time ’brina. I’ll see you tomorrow, kay?”
Sabrina just nodded as she watched you leave.
Back in your home, you took a bath trying to forget about everything that had happened today. You scrubbed your body as though trying to forget about how he had touched you. How his hands had roamed on your body. How his kisses felt on your skin. The way he had kissed you, the way it felt when you touched him. Needless to say, the bath hadn’t helped at all. You came out of the bathroom more frustrated than ever and as you crossed your room something caught your eye. You turned around and saw your reflection in the full-length mirror. It wasn’t your nakedness that made you feel vulnerable, but the marks that had been left on your body. Love marks, you realized. Your neck was peppered with his love marks and it just served to make you sadder. Your fingers brushed against the marks and you thought that you could still feel the way he had touched and kissed you. You were startled out of your daze when you heard someone say your name.
“Y/N”
You were shocked to find Nick staring at you and for a moment you were frozen. It was only when you noticed him averting his eyes, did you remember you were naked. Gasping, you quickly wrapped your towel around your body and stared at him
“Nick! What-how are you here?”
“Well, I am not really here. I’m astral projecting”
“Praise Satan! You can’t just do that. I was naked when you came into my room!”
“I did enjoy the view though.” He joked, trying to lighten the mood.
You felt your blood boil. He had no right to do that. To joke as though you were the best of friends, as though nothing had happened.
“Stop!” you practically screamed, “You, you can't just do that!”
“Sorry, I was just trying to-”
“I know what you were trying to do.” you cut him off before you could finish. “But I mean nothing to you. You don’t get to kiss me and touch me and then just leave.”
“You were the one who left.” He retorted
“Only because you said it meant nothing to you.”
“I didn’t mean that! Sabrina just startled me with her entrance and I said the first thing that came to my mind.”
“Go away, Nick”
Nick inhaled sharply when he heard his name on your lips for the first time.
“Why do you care so much about what I said”
“Does it matter?” You said resignedly “Why are you here?”
“To tell you that I don’t want to leave this time.
You froze, worried that if you moved then whatever trance this was, would break.
“I want to go out with you. I want to kiss you and touch you. And I don’t want all that while we are hiding in the darkest corner of the library.”
You could hardly breathe. He wanted the same things that you did. If this was some kind of cruel trick then you would kill whoever was responsible. As you were thinking about that you realized that he had stopped speaking, waiting for your response
“Y/N, please, say something.”
Do you really want that? you said breathlessly like you couldn’t believe it.
“All of it. And all of you.” He smiled as he continued, “From the moment I met you, I was enchanted by you. Everything you did, captivated me. I wanted to talk to you but I was rendered speechless and somehow the first things that came from my mouth, were insults. Then, I guess you hated me and I knew that you would never talk to me. So, I tried to irritate you and mock you. I never meant to start this stupid competition but it was worth it if it meant that you would at least look at me, so I went along with it. Today, when you kissed me, I was afraid that if I stopped you would leave me. And then you did leave me. But I don’t want to leave now, not unless you want me to.”
His entire monologue felt like a breath of fresh air. You felt like you could finally breathe again. As soon as he finished, he looked at you with hopeful eyes.
A small smile graced your face, “I owe you an apology too. I judged you way too harshly, even before I knew you. During the entire competition, my only goal was to make you lose, but I couldn’t help but see how kind you were to everyone else. How intelligent you were and how much fun I had whenever we were competing. Every time I was away from you, I was craving for your snarky remarks and when you laughed that stupid laugh of yours whenever I said something even marginally funny. I don’t want to leave, nor do I want you to leave”.
You were smiling so much that it hurt, but it was all worth it to listen to his laugh as you talked. There was a moment of silence when you finished speaking.
“Do you really want all that?” He asked as if he still couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
“I do,” you confirmed. “I wish I could touch you right now.”
“Me too. Would-would you mind coming out to the academy right now?” He asked in an unsure tone, afraid that you would say no.
Your smile grew, even though you thought that wasn’t possible.
“Race you to the tree on the boundary?”
‘You’re on!’
Nick vanished, and you gave a disbelieving sigh, still only partially convinced that all this was a real. You quickly grabbed and wore the clothes you had laid out, and rushed from the back door towards the academy.
You hadn’t expected that you would reach the tree before him and therefore you weren’t surprised when you saw him waiting there for you. As if sensing that you were approaching, he turned around and his face broke into a smile. You rushed towards him and threw yourself on him, hugging him with all your might.
“I was half-convinced that I was dreaming.” You confessed to him.
“Dream of me a lot, do you?” He asked you in a teasing tone.
You laughed and pulled back from the hug, and instead leaned in, joining your foreheads. “I’m glad you are still the same cocky bastard.”
He smiled at your teasing and grabbed your hand, weaving his fingers through yours.
“I like the way your hand fits in mine.” He said bashfully.
You smiled and leaned in to kiss him, “You know...I can kiss better than you, lover boy...!”
You felt him silently laugh against your lips, “We’ll just see about that, darling.”
~~~
Congrats! You reached the end! I hope you liked it! Feel free to leave me comments and send some asks and love!!
Learning Experience
Fandom: The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Characters: Nicholas Scratch x Reader Warnings: None Notes: I’ve been watching CAOS, and I saw a clip from the show Good Girls that inspired the dialogue for this fic.
Tumblr media
It was evident to most at the Academy of Unseen Arts that you weren’t the typical witch. You were kind, thoughtful, and constantly worried about how others perceived you. You were well aware that the vast majority of your cohorts deemed you peculiar, and out of place in the Church of Night, so it was important to you that they at least knew you were more than sufficiently astute and competent. That was why it was crucial to you that your tutoring meetings with a certain warlock remained secret.
Conjuring had never been your strong suit. You were proficient in spells, incantations, potions – anything else, you name it. Just not conjuring. Fearing that a poor grade in Conjuring would be a hit to your reputation as an intelligent, well-versed witch, you enlisted the help of Nicholas Scratch.
He was one of very few peers who showed you continual kindness. You were aware of his background: growing up with his werewolf familiar, living in the wilderness until stumbling upon the Academy. In turn, he was aware of your history as well, and seemed to view you as a kindred spirit. However, Nick was aware of his player reputation, so he knew that hanging out with you would give the impression that he was sleeping with you, being that it was unheard of for him to be merely friends with a member of the opposite sex – and you were vehemently against tarnishing your image in such a way. He also knew that outright befriending you would paint a target on your back for the Weird Sisters, especially now that he had recently broken up with them, and they were still vying for his affection. So, the two of you opted to remain acquaintances, occasionally chatting about magical history, potions, or merely sharing a polite exchange about how your days were going.
Although you’d have rather cut off your own foot than admit it to another living soul, you had – against your will – developed a crush on the handsome, sharp, kind-hearted young man. This made you all the more willing to ask him to tutor you in Conjuring – aside from the fact that you genuinely needed his assistance.
“Remind me again why we have to go through all this trouble just for a tutoring session?” Nick inquired one evening, as you two downed a potion to grant you invisibility, before sneaking off to a little-known room in the attic of the Academy. He grimaced slightly at the taste of it as you both dematerialized.
“Because, if anyone were to see us, they’re going to want to know what someone like me is doing with someone like you,” you responded matter-of-factly. Both of you climbed the staircase up to the attic, and after shutting and locking the door behind you, you handed him the potion to reverse the invisibility. He knocked it back with ease, despite grimacing slightly once again, and set the glass vial on the table next to him. Nick stared at you for a few moments, mirth growing in his eyes, before taking a few smooth strides toward you.
“What are you doing with someone like me?” he asked, his tone teasing and curious, as he came to a stop mere inches away from you. “You could have asked anyone for help. But you chose to sneak around with me instead. Why is that?”
He smelled like sandalwood and leather, and it was practically intoxicating. You shook your head to regain control of your racing thoughts and re-focus on the present.
“Obviously I can’t tell them why,” you answered, defensiveness creeping into your voice. Nick didn’t pressure you to elaborate, as he already understood your meaning. He was aware that everyone was incredibly quick to judge you, and that you didn’t want to give them a reason to.
“Right, right….” A small smirk then formed on Nick’s lips. “Well, that potion is disgusting. I’d really rather not keep doing that every time. So, just tell them we’re fucking.”
“What?”
“Oh I’m sorry, sweetheart. Tell them… we’re making love,” Nick said, clearly teasing you on account of your horror at his initial statement.
You stammered for a moment, and even let out a dry, awkward laugh – which only amused him more – before managing to ask, “How would I even say that? Why would I even say that?”
A broad grin overcame Nick’s smirk.
“You’ll think of something. Besides, you’re so heaven-bent on exceeding expectations, and there’s nothing they’d expect less than for you to be sleeping around with me,” Nick noted, then took your books from your hands, as you stood there with your jaw hanging open. “Just make me sound good though, alright? Now, let’s get started on your conjuring homework.”
As you stood there for a moment longer in stunned silence, you absorbed the fact that this whole tutoring setup was going to be the death of you.
She had never really meant for it to start. It wasn’t like her, the secret meetings, hushed whispers, and built up lies. But there was something about all of it that dragged her under the current and swept her up that she couldn’t deny or ignore. It was never her intention to start an affair with Nicholas Scratch. Though it was somewhat of an inevitability. From the minute they met, a line in the sand was drawn and they spent the better part of two years trying not to come closer to it. But the magnetic pull between them was undeniable, and soon the line in the sand was just as messed up as their sheets.
She hadn’t planned it, and the second she let her guard down they’d both fallen into a hole they couldn't quite climb out of. She’d been sleeping with Nick for months and talked to him about more things than she never dared to with Harvey.
Harvey.
The high school sweetheart she couldn’t let go. Or rather she couldn’t admit the relationship was failing, because she wasn’t a quitter. But she couldn’t seem to quit Nick either.
Some declarations don't get you the girl...
[ao3 link]
Breathe, Sabrina.
Sabrina Cadogan walks down the street, wrapping herself in her sweater. It’s pink, slightly frayed from overuse, and barely wards off the chill of the wind. Her hair whips in her face.
Breathe.
It’s been two years since him, two years since that horrible liar finally left her life. Two years since she’s felt another’s hands on her in that way, since he used her and lied to her and twisted it all back to her. Since she was the whore. Since she was the liar. Since she was the one who used him, who only ever regarded him as a “sex toy”, who played with his emotions and led him on.
Goddamn it, Sabrina, remember how to breathe.
She sucks in a deep, sharp breath. It stings her lungs.
Her skin burns. She remembers what it was like for him to touch her, to have his hands trail up and down her body. That always drove her crazy, the way he could make her beg and whine by just moving his hands across her skin, devouring her with passionate kisses that clouded her thoughts.
She bites her lip as hard as she can, fighting off the first bout of tears threatening to spill out. She will not cry over him. It has been too long, and she has already wasted so many tears. She will not cry.
Almost home.
Betrayal after betrayal, lie after lie. And she’s the villain? She’s the cruel one? When the boy she kissed never even existed in the first place?
“God, this is so stupid,” she mumbles under her breath, noticing the warble in her words.
It’s been two years. She should be over this. The chill that runs down her spine at the thought of him, the way her heart pounds in her chest at the memory of his voice, it should all be gone. It’s been so long.
“It’s been so fucking long, Sabrina,” she whispers to herself. “Grow up.”
You’re almost home. He’s not here. You’re okay.
The buzz of her phone startles her out of her thoughts and she stops walking abruptly. She looks down, the device digging into her skin with how tightly she grips it. nicky boy <3 is calling, it reads.
“Fuck,” she huffs. She was supposed to be heading to Nick’s.
She stares at her phone for a minute, hesitating, calculating the tremble in her voice, Nick’s natural intuition when she’s upset. He’s always been so good at reading her. Can she manage it? Taking a deep breath, she presses answer, forcing herself to keep walking.
“Nick?”
“Hi, sunshine!” Nick’s voice rings like the first note of her favorite song. “Almost here?”
Sabrina pulls the phone away from her mouth to take a shaky breath, then presses it back against her ear, tight against the cold. “I’m sorry, baby, I totally forgot I was supposed to come over. I’ve got a bit of a headache. Is it okay if I come over a different time?”
Even through the phone, Sabrina can hear the pout on Nick’s face. “Oh,” he says. “Was it those troublemakers in the library again? I can get them in trouble if you—”
“No, Nick, they weren’t there today.” Is this convincing enough? Can he hear it? “I might be getting a cold, I’m not sure.”
“Are you wearing that jacket I got you? You know that sweater isn’t thick enough!”
She sighs, letting out a soft laugh. He’s such a mom. “It’s 50 degrees out, Nick. It’s not that cold.”
“So you are wearing the sweater!” Nick chuckles to himself. “Can’t blame you. You look beautiful in pink.”
Sabrina blushes, barely hearing him as he continues on a, “Well, you look beautiful in anything” tangent. She smiles.
God, you look beautiful. You’re perfect.
Her smile fades. Closing her eyes hoping to squeeze out the memory, she sucks in a breath without pulling the phone away, and Nick makes a small noise of acknowledgement. “You are still beautiful when you’re sick, peach,” he says matter-of-factly.
“That’s not what I—” she starts, then catches herself. “I know. I know!”
“What’s wrong?” he finally asks. Fuck.
“Nothing, Nick,” she says a bit too sharply. “I’m just tired. And cold.”
“I thought it wasn’t that cold out.”
She can see him sticking his tongue out. She laughs, rolling her eyes. “It’s cold enough. I’m almost home. I’ll call you later?”
Please, Nick, please just hang up. Please.
“Yeah,” he says, and her whole body relaxes. “I love you! Get right into bed, okay? I better not see you on the Xbox in a few minutes.”
“No Xbox, scout’s honor. I love you too, angel.”
As she wrestles with her keys, Nick continues, starting on his usual quick rant before the ending of a call. “Don’t forget Aria asked to get coffee tomorrow. She always drinks that crazy strong stuff, I don’t know how it doesn’t kill her. Personally, I think she could take a step back from coffee for a while, that might be one of the many reasons she’s so high strung, but God forbid Button listen to me about anything.”
Inside the house. She shuts the door behind her and leans against it, closing her eyes.
“She might drag Kent along, but she promised me she’d try to stop doing that. I swear, your little sister finally gets a boyfriend weird enough to match her energy and she can’t stop bringing him along like a puppy dog everywhere she goes.” After a moment, he laughs. “A puppy dog! Fitting. Kent is Button’s Annie and Cass.”
Sabrina throws her keys on the counter, heading to the fridge. She pulls out the carton of milk, drinking a few swallows before closing the door again, dragging herself to her room.
“I mean it about the Xbox, peach. You have to take care of yourself. Xbox is no good for headaches. And you better not have a new family on the Sims to show me next time I come over either. It is strict bed rest, you hear me, missy?”
“Yes, Mom,” she groans, throwing herself on her bed. Her phone lands beside her head. “Strict bed rest. No Xbox. No Sims.”
“I love you!”
Sabrina slides her hands into her hair and tugs. “I love you too.”
Silence. Usually he says bye, but he must’ve thought he was overstaying his welcome. A bit of guilt tugs at her heart. She wasn’t very present at the end there. She should call him back.
What, do you have a crush on him or something? I just don’t see why this is affecting you so much.
Because it’s Justice! Sure, I have a stupid little Twitter dedicated to stupid little memes about him, but a bomb went off. He’s in the hospital. I’m worried about him. Am I crazy for that? Is it crazy to be worried about someone?
Again with the bomb conspiracy. I just never see you anymore. You seem consumed by this news, and you keep shutting down plans, and you barely want to talk to me. I understand being upset, but you don’t have to shut me out.
God, it’s not about Nick Wiseman. It’s about you, you fucking asshole. You never leave me alone, and when I ask for space, it’s always a whole ordeal. Either you make a fuss about not being able to talk to me or you just don’t respect my need for space at all. What am I supposed to do? Every second you’re there, wanting to do something, wanting to call, even wanting to fall asleep on the phone? We’re not dating! That’s crazy!
And you’re much better? Anytime you talk to me, you want something from me. And then when you get it, you shut me out again! That’s not fair.
That’s not—That’s not what happens! We are both active participants in that, you have never touched me when you didn’t want to. That’s not my fault. I told you from the start what I wanted and didn’t want, and you told me it was okay. You told me it was okay! That’s not on me anymore. If you didn’t mean it, you never should’ve said it in the first place, but don’t blame me for taking you at your word.
Sabrina groans loudly, turning to shove her face into her pillow. Her heart is pounding so hard it’s threatening to break her ribs.
She should be over this. She should be long over this.
That’s all you want from me anyways. You just use me to get what you want and you throw me away until you want it again.
And what about all the times I came over and just wanted to hold you? What about all the times I got into the car and asked you if we could just sit there with your head on my chest? You’re ignoring the other stuff to make yourself look better, and it’s not fair! When I came over last week, all I wanted to do was hang out and watch TV with you. You initiated everything, and when I told you I didn’t want to do anything, you stopped for a minute and tried again five seconds later. How is that me using you? I told you no!
You said “not right now”. Not “no”.
A wail rips itself from Sabrina’s chest, and the tears finally burst out of her. She clutches her pillow tight, her fingers surely turning white, and sobs, the pain wracking her entire body. “God!” she screams. “God, God, God, God!”
She’s ruined. She was ruined before him, and he crumbled her into an even finer dust. She’s ruined. She’ll never make Nick happy. Not like Aoife did. Not like all the other girls did. It’s been a year, a year since they started dating. It’s been two months since she almost let him touch her (No, Nick, I’m so sorry. If you’re not comfortable doing this without reciprocation, I completely understand), two months since (You’re the one who’s not comfortable, peach. I won’t force you to do anything you don’t want to do), two months since (That’s what he said. That’s what he said, Nick), two months since (I will never do what he did to you. Fuck that guy. If we never do that, I’ll still be happy. You’ll still be my wonderful girlfriend).
Two months since (Fuck, Nick, I love you so much. I’m so sorry. I’m so, so sorry).
Two months since (Never apologize for that. Ever).
And she had wanted to. She still does. Nick drives her crazy, stirs something in her stomach that she hasn’t felt that strongly before. When he stretches in his Unity uniform, when he licks his lips when he’s focused, when he places his hand on her neck and pulls her in for a slow kiss. Even when he goes on his hour long tangents, God, he drives her crazy.
But she can’t. She doesn’t trust it.
She hates that she doesn’t trust it.
She’s ruined.
A knock sounds at the door, and she flies off the bed, legs trembling. Great, just what she needed. Who could that possibly be?
She peeks out of her window, and lo and behold, Nick is standing on her doorstep, flowers in one hand (orange roses—he knows her so well) and a round container in the other. He also has a backpack on.
She grabs her phone, dialing him immediately. A small giggle works its way through her tears as she watches him stumble, trying to answer his phone with the hand holding flowers. “Hello?” he says.
“Angel,” she says, painfully aware her voice is thick with sorrow. “What are you doing?”
“You’re supposed to be sleeping,” he pouts.
“It’s been 25 minutes since we hung up, Nick.”
“Power nap!” he chirps. God, he’s so ridiculous. “Come on, let me in, I’m gonna drop your soup.”
Sabrina pales. “Uh…the door’s open. I forgot to lock it.”
“It’s a good thing I’m here, huh?” he says, dispelling her anxiety with one sentence. “Come open the door though. I want a kiss. Please? Please, please, please?”
“I’m coming,” she says through a laugh, heading towards the door and wiping her nose. “You’re so needy.”
“Yes, I am,” he whines. “I am so, so needy, and I will die if I don’t get a kiss from my—”
Sabrina opens the door, and his eyes light up, his hand dropping from his face. “Oh, thank God, there she is. I was talking to this lady on the phone, demanding she provide my beautiful girlfriend, and it just did not sound like she was going to budge. But here you are!” He leans forward dramatically, closing his eyes and puckering his lips. “I believe I was promised something?”
“I didn’t promise you anything,” she says, sniffing, then gently places her hands on his face and kisses him. His dramatic pucker slips into a soft kiss, his mouth opening slightly. Kissing Nick is like laying in a field of flowers, a cool breeze drifting through, the sun gently shining. Sabrina instantly feels a few pounds lighter.
“Thank you,” he says dreamily when she pulls away. She keeps her hands on his face.
"What is all this?" she asks.
Pink spreads across his freckled face. "I got these for you for tonight. And," he says, wiggling his body to shake his backpack, "this stuff too. Remember that blanket we saw last week? And that hair clip? Also, I brought your movie, you forgot it at my house last time. Figured you wanted that back. I just—"
“Sorry.” She sniffles, overwhelmed. “You did all this and—I’m sorry I lied to you.”
His expression softens. “You didn’t lie. You have a headache. Just not a physical one.”
A sort of half-laugh, half-sob comes out of her mouth as she steps back, letting him in the house. “You’re so—I hate you.”
“Love you too, peach.”
~
“You awake?”
Sabrina blinks open her eyes, trying to resist the urge to sink back into Nick’s warmth. The couch and his arms are so soft. “Of course I am. I could never fall asleep during—”
“Oh, hush,” he interrupts. “You’ve seen it a million times. You’re allowed to sleep. My soup tends to have that effect on people.”
“But—”
“But—But—’But you were a mouse! You wanted cheese!’”
She smacks his thigh. “Don’t you quote it at me! I’m awake.”
Nick laughs. A moment of silence passes.
Her head stops rising and falling on his chest as he holds his breath. “Do you want to talk about it?”
“Mm,” she immediately responds. Dread creeps its way through her insides. “Do we have to?”
“Of course not.” Nick’s voice is impossibly gentle. “I thought it might help.”
Her tongue burns with bitterness. “What is there to talk about? I’m fucked up forever because some guy decided—”
“Hey, hey, hey. None of that.” Nick shifts in his seat, moving her so she’s facing him. His brow is knit in concern. “You are not fucked up.”
He’s so pretty when he cares. She feels bad for thinking it, but in that moment, with his eyes shining with worry, he’s so fucking beautiful. Tears well up in her eyes for the third time that day.
“I want to be normal, Nick,” she cries, gripping his wrist. “I want to experience life the way everybody else does. I want to be able to touch you. I want you to be able to touch me. I want to be able to think of it without feeling sick to my stomach.”
“It’s not fair, I know.” His hand brushes her hair behind her ear, and she holds back a sob. “Someone at some point did something really bad to you, and it scared you. That’s not your fault.”
“Nick—”
“It’s not your fault. He—” Nick takes a deep breath, rage burning in his hazel eyes. Nick's anger is a beast of its own. “He made it seem like it was your fault. He made you doubt yourself to make himself feel better. Because it’s his fault. He did this to you, and you didn’t deserve it, and it isn’t fair, but it’s not your fault.”
“I know, I just—”
“Sabrina.” He cups her face. The pain in her chest is unbearable. “Sabrina Cadogan. You are beautiful. But you are more than that. You are more than what he made you. You are more than who he said you are. He was a liar, and a manipulator, and a general piece of shit. And you are more than who you were with him. Do you hear me?”
She nods. Biting on her lip so hard that it starts to bleed, she leans in to press her forehead against his. He sighs when her skin makes contact. “I love you,” she warbles.
“I love you,” he says.
“Nick, what if I never—” She pulls away, wrapping herself in the blanket he brought her. “What if I can never—”
“Then we’ll deal with that together,” he answers, like it’s just that simple, like it’s the easiest question in the world. “I’m your boyfriend because I love you. All of you. I love your garden, and your baking, and your singing, and the way you treat my sister, and the way you treat everyone, because you are relentlessly kind and understanding and good. I love that you spend hours at the computer with your little Sim family, and I love that you won’t let them die because you love those fictional people so much. I love how excited you get when you beat me in Mario Kart—a lucky happenstance, mind you—and I love seeing you light up when your dads come to visit.
Nick leans back, shaking his head, lost in thought. “God, I loved the first time your papa called me Nick, how proud you were that I wasn’t just Justice to them, that I was Nick, I was your boyfriend. I love everything about you, Sabrina. And that includes the parts that you hate. I will never make you feel lesser than for being the way that you are, for feeling the way that you do. I know why you think the way you do, and I can’t say I blame you. I used to sleep around…a lot. But there’s nothing to be found in that. There are so many things to be found in you, Brina.”
“You’re sure?” she asks, heart swelling with his words. She loves him so much. “Because I’d understand if you aren’t comfortable with the fact that I—that we—It’s hard for me.”
“I know it is,” he says, so soft it’s practically a whisper. “I will be here if you ever change your mind. And I will be here if you never change your mind. Yeah?”
She nods. “Yeah. I love you.”
He kisses her, once, slow and soft and gentle. “I love you too.”
~
When she finally lets go, it’s easy.
It’s so easy with Nick.
He asks her questions every step of the way, interrupting his kisses with “Is this okay?” and “You’re sure about this?” and “We can stop the moment you get uncomfortable”. When she asks for a break, he sits back, cracking jokes and placing quick kisses on her forehead, her cheek, her hand. He never tries to start anything back up again. He never seems impatient, like he’s rushing her or eager to get back to anything. When she reaches for his pants, he grabs her hand, kissing the knuckles.
“I want you to be sure,” he says.
She has never been more sure of anything in her life. And with Nick, it is so easy.
She touches him, and even through pleasure, even through the release she is sure he has missed, he asks her questions. “This is okay?” and “We can stop anytime you want” and “You feeling okay?” When she starts to line herself up for something she has never done with anyone before, he stops her.
“Not right now,” he says, and she will not be like him. Not right now means no. She stops immediately.
“Are you okay?” she asks. “Is this too much?”
“I’m checking on you, sunshine. This is a lot for…for our first time doing anything.”
If Nick’s love were a weapon, it could destroy the entire universe.
She cries, again, but these are tears of joy.
“I trust you,” she says, and she means it. She trusts him. With everything.
He shakes his head, placing a light kiss on her forehead. “Let’s take a break. You’re feeling very good right now, and your judgment might be clouded by how you’re feeling. Take a break with me. We’ll go to the bathroom, get something to eat. Sit with each other for a bit. After that, you tell me if you’re still ready. But only if you mean it. If not, we’ll go to the arcade or the movies or something. That way, you don’t think I’m ‘missing out’ on anything.”
“Nicholas.”
“Sabrina?”
“You are—” Her voice cracks, tears spilling down her cheeks. She tries to force the words out. “You are too good to me.”
He lets out an embarrassed laugh, and God, he is so fucking beautiful. “I like to think I’m just good enough. Come on, peach. Those muffins we made earlier are calling our names.”
“I love you. So much.”
“I love you too.”
~
She does end up changing her mind that day. He was right; in the moment, it seemed like a good idea, but the longer she sat with it, the more uneasy she became. They go to the park instead, and it’s just as pleasurable.
It’s on a day neither of them expect, where the two of them are in the kitchen cooking in silence, enjoying each other’s company in comfortable quiet, when Sabrina opens her mouth and says, “I’m ready.”
Nick glances over at her pan. “The sauce isn’t thick enough yet, peach.”
“No, I…” She swirls her wooden spoon in the pan. “The other thing.”
“Oh,” he says. “Oh!”
A moment passes. The only sounds are the bubbling of the sauce and the sizzling of the chicken.
“Are you sure?”
She nods, finally looking up at him. “I think so. If we…if we start, and I’m not, we can—”
“We can always stop,” he agrees. “Always. Never be afraid to ask for that.”
Another pause. “I guess we should finish dinner first,” she says.
There’s a moment of tense silence, then the two of them laugh. Nick walks over and kisses her temple. “Probably, yeah. This stuff’s really good, I promise. We just shouldn’t…fill up. Because. Well.”
Heat rushes across her face. “Yeah.”
“Yeah,” he repeats.
“I trust you,” she says.
“I know, peach. I know.”
When dinner is over and done with and they’ve watched a movie to give themselves time to digest their food, they head to the bedroom. It’s playful. Nick cracks a million jokes on the way there, all of which die in his throat when she takes off her clothes (Is it okay that I keep my bra on? Sometimes having my boobs out makes me feel sick & Of course, sunshine, whatever makes you comfortable).
It’s surprising how easy it is, how easy kissing him while on top of him is, how easy letting him flip her over is. How easy it is to sink into the bed and stare up at the love of her life, knowing she trusts him wholeheartedly. How easy it is to let him fuck her, knowing that this is not what he needs, but what they want. How easy it is to close her eyes and feel good, knowing that Nicholas Hyacinth Wiseman loves her so much that he would never fuck her if she asked that of him, that he would love to fuck her if she asked that of him.
How easy it is to feel safe with him.
And she feels safe, she feels incredibly safe, even when the pace becomes faster, even when Nick can no longer talk and check in on her because he’s groaning and panting, how even moaning her name is a question of “Is this okay?”. The way he holds her hand asks “Are you all right?”. The way he leans down to kiss her asks “You’re still okay with this, right?”. And when all is said and done, and they lay in bed, sweaty and breathing and alive, it’s still not what he needs. He doesn’t need that to love her. He doesn’t need that to be with her.
It’s something they want to share with each other. And never at the other’s expense. And God, is that a wonderful thought. Nick will never use me. Nick will never ask me for anything he knows I won’t give. Nick will never expect anything from me.
“I love you, Sabrina,” he says into her hair, a kiss in his words.
“I love you too, Nicholas,” she murmurs into the crook of his neck, snuggling into place and closing her eyes, preparing to drift off.
Simple as can be. Sabrina Cadogan loves Nicholas Wiseman. So. Much.
After the weekend, classes had resumed, you walked with Sabrina to each of your classes, but something had seemed off today out of all days. You had looked around you and spotted an empty seat, you had turned to Sabrina and leaned in, “Brina, where’s Nick, he’s never one to miss class.” Sabrina looked at the empty seat and shrugged. “Maybe he overslept, or got lost in the woods?” This was unusual for Nick, he was always on time, especially when it came to classes, he always made sure to arrive just on time, even when he was feeling a bit under the weather. As the day had come to an end you had spotted Nick by the steps conversing with the weird sisters, they had their hands all over Nick and he did not seem to mind. He would occasionally smirk, as they let out giggles. “Looks like we’ve found him,” Sabrina said as she folded her arms across her chest. She glanced at you and you just rolled your eyes as you spotted Nick. “As always flirting it up with the three hags.”
Nick had glanced up for a minute, eyes on you but it was not a friendly look, like the one he’s always given you. “You know what Brina, I’m not feeling too well I think I’m going to bed…see you tomorrow?” Sabrina frowned, “Are you okay? My aunt Hilda can make you something for you.” she said. You just shook your head, “No, it’s okay I’ll see you tomorrow.” You had looked at Nick, before walking upstairs to your room, you heard the giggles of the weird sisters and Nick mumble something that you quite could not grasp. As days had gone by, Nick had been different towards you, if you had joined him and Sabrina in a conversation he would roll his eyes every time you spoke, or would always mumble a nasty comment that was barely audible.
As time had got closer to your conjuring project being due, Nick had agreed to meet you in the woods to try and do the conjuring spell once more, you had arrived in the woods early setting everything up just like you did the last time. As you were in the middle of setting things up you heard footsteps behind you. “Oh, is the little witch starting without me again?” He questioned, you furrowed your eyebrows, “Excuse me?” you said as you stared at him placing his book bag onto the floor and taking out a few items needed for the spell. “Let’s just get this thing over with.” You continued staring at him, and you felt anger starting to crawl up into your body. “What the hell is wrong with you? You’ve been acting like a jerk!” Nick stood up and looked at you, “What’s wrong with me? You want to know what’s wrong with me?” He said walking up close to you.
“You, are what’s wrong with me.” You did not understand what had been going on, one moment Nick was kind to you, and the next thing you knew he was bitter, and sour towards you without any reason as to why. “You are just no good, I don’t even know why they let you into the academy, you’re useless, a waste of witch.” He spat out. You felt your heart sting with hurt, it was as if someone had just punched you in the gut and you couldn’t speak anymore. “I don’t understand….” Nick clenched his jaw tightly as he stared at you, his lip sneering at you, “You disgust me, witch.” He said and walked off. Nick had grabbed his things and left you in the woods alone, you tried to fight the tears that were now burning your eyes and you could no longer hold them back, you felt them rushing down your face one by one.
Nick’s POV:
The night Nick had told y/n how much he had cared for her, he went to bed happy knowing that she was the last face he saw before bedtime, and the only face he would want to see for the rest of his life. As he slept, his happiness was shattered, his dreams had turned into nightmares, and his body felt like it was burning from the inside, Nick was trapped inside of his nightmare, his body had felt as if he had sandbags inside of him. Nick’s eyes shifted from corner to corner, his surroundings had been familiar to him, but he was frozen. He looked up seeing a shadow over his body, smirking at him. Nick's eyes had widened, as his body had been absorbed by the shadow. He felt the pain as the shadow and Nick were becoming one, making his body a new vessel. Nick had tried his hardest to fight it mentally but eventually, all Nick could see was the darkness, the darkness that now covered every inch of his happiness, everything he once loved, was now shattered by the demon that had possessed him.
As the weekend had passed, classes resumed Nick was still in his mind trying to fight off the demon that was possessing him. He tried his best to stay strong and block his mind from the demon’s whispers and chuckles. As the day went on, he saw her, he avoided her as much as he could, but the demon would always take over, knowing who she was, the one girl that was his whole heart. When they both agreed to meet in the woods, a knot grew inside of Nick's throat, he wasn’t sure what was going to happen, he tried his best to fight off the demon, but something went wrong and Nick had ended up leaving y/n alone in the woods, “A waste of witch.” It is what he called her, a part of him regretted it, but a part of him didn’t.
Being in a poly relationship with Sabrina Spellman and Nick Scratch would include...
Love love love love love
Your relationship is full of love
So much love
Nick and Sabrina are both people full of love
And often consumed by the need to share it with those around them
In this case, you
The two are already in a relationship when they meet you
They were doing really good
But when they meet you, they immediately fall in love with you
They talk about it later in the day, and are surprised to find that the feelings are mutual
So, they start hanging out with you more often
Sometimes it’s just Nick, sometimes Sabrina, sometimes both
They don’t want to scare you off, so they take things slow
Once they’re sure you won’t get scared off, they sort of tell you what’s going on
At first, you’re confused
They’re already dating, so how would that even work?
But, why the hell not?
You figure they both really like you, and you really like them
So, it’s worth a shot
You are not at all prepared for what comes next
Nick and Sabrina are both very affectionate people
They don’t give a shit about PDA
They hold your hand as you walk, kiss you in front of whoever is around
You can’t lie
You enjoy the attention they give you
However, you all collectively understand the need for space sometimes
Sabrina understands a bit more than Nick
Mostly because he’s cheeky and impatient
But that’s alright
You know what you signed up for when you started dating them
You all sleep together
In the same bed
Usually Sabrina’s
Because yours is too small
And Nick sleeps in the boys’ dorm so, no
But it’s a right mess of limbs and heads
Sabrina likes being in the middle
You’ll have your leg hooked with hers, and your head in the crook of her neck
Nick will have an arm under her head, his hand holding yours over Sabrina’s middle
On other nights, you and Sabrina will gang up on Nick and make him sleep in the middle
You two don’t care
You’ll literally drape yourselves over him
Not that he minds
Two pretty people all over him?
Normally, people would have to pay for stuff like this
He’s often unprepared when you and Sabrina start to tickle him
Next, studying together can prove to be a chore
Mostly because you all get distracted so easily
But once you all set your mind to studying, that’s exactly what happens
You’ll sit on the carpeted floor, right next to the bed with your books scattered around you, your familiar on your lap
Sabrina is face-down on the bed with her books spread out in front of her
And Nick is usually pacing up and down the room with his book in hand, sitting by the windowsill every once in a while
You three constantly remind each other that you’re there for the others if they need help in a specific subject
Although both usually come to you for help when it comes to runes
You all collectively hate the class, but somehow, you have the highest grade out of everyone
Students at the Academy are well aware of your relationship
But nobody says anything
They either know what’s good for them, or they just figure it’s none of their business
Of course, this doesn’t apply to Prudence, Agatha and Dorcas
All of whom are still trying to get with Nick
Mostly Agatha and Dorcas, Prudence is kinda over it
Nick is quick to turn down their advances
And you and Sabrina know exactly when it’s time to jump to the rescue
And same applies for when someone hits on you
Which, you come to find, happens a whole lot more now that you’re in a relationship
But Sabrina and Nick are both very powerful
So those who flirt with you know to back off
You, three love going on little dates all around Greendale
Whether it be milkshakes at Cerberus’ or catching a movie, it’s very enjoyable with these two
Now, those things aside, there are times when your relationship gets rough
Nick tends to be temperamental
Sabrina is reckless and ridiculously stubborn
And you have your own problems
Which all tends to clash a lot
But at the end of the day, what makes your relationship is ultimately the love and understanding you all share
No matter what happens, you’re always there for each other
Through the good and the bad
Amor vincit omnia, baby
