I cannot believe there's absolutely no way to watch free shows and movies anymore, there are too many paid streaming platforms and pirating websites have viruses and ads preventing you from watching it uninterrupted((.)) id rather follow the rules and purchase media moving forward because it is too inconvenient. Seriously, free and no ads or viruses with 1080p streaming is DEAD.

I'm ready to buy stock in Thirsty Deer to help their occupational re-entry program. I hope this drama is just some massive PPL from the govt for actual efforts to reduce recidivism. I need to rewatch the end credits to see who has put their name on this project.
Edit: Here's the 1st sponsor listed in the credits and it's also on the boxes we see in the freezer.
친환경 육기공기업 케이 프라이드
K Pride: An Eco friendly meat company

Cdramas I watched in 2023 List
(dramas with gifs are excellent/great and actually worth watching in my opinion. The others are not, watch at your own risk)
You are so sweet-A time passer if not anything else.
From Repair to Pair-Idk what the hell they wanted me to get from this.
My Fated Boy-he wins for best male lead I've watched this year. He was perfect.
The Trick of Life and Love-i tried.
Hi venus-I love this.
Romance with Blind Master-LOL i should've never watched this especially when I know the movie was no good. LOL
The Starry Love-ending was... but it was nice till then.
Warm on a Cold Night-I need them in another drama together. Hopefully Modern.
Taste of Love-this was so bad
My Little Happiness-rewatch
Definitely Not Today-so underrated. It's only 8 episodes but it's a very important story.
The Lady in the Butchers House- she was abusive
Delicious Romance-absolutely hated this
Royal Rumors-pretty but very boring
Nothing But You
Back From the Brink-hated that end
The Love You Give Me-meh
Rewriting Destiny- this deserves so much. I know it's low budget but I actually really enjoyed this drama so much. He needs bigger roles.
Destined
Here We Meet Again- boring most of the time and long winded but very pretty because that's the only roles this man does
Romance on the Farm-as yall know I have a love hate. I LOVE them so much. But that ending SUCKED. The romance was sprinkled so don't expect so much. It was a family drama with lots of redemption that wasn't deserved. I watched for these two.
Wrong Carriage Right Groom-kind of boring but at the same time I enjoyed them? Just wish they went a more mature route.
Forever Love- OKAY HEAR ME OUT. It's a mini drama. It's bad but it's good and I know yall know wtf I mean.
Hello I'm At Your Service-He picks "mature" romances and I appreciate that.
Promise in the Summer-HEAR ME OUT AGAIN, ya'll cannot expect perfection out of mini dramas. This was just fun and I admit that. Their height difference>>> the comfort scene>>> Just a good time.
Parallel Worlds-chem was there. A bit rushed in some aspects, but if they would have cut this drama DOWN some episodes it would have benefited the other points of the story. Good fantasy though like very interesting world.
You Are Desire-he is soooo good looking and she fits him well. But the career choice for him and the storyline following was such a snooooze.
Hidden Love-controversial drama but I SWEAR you watch episode 1 and then skip like 4 episodes and its smooth sailing. It's not creepy but they have a girl playing her younger self that looks way too young and she's not THAT much younger so it made it seem weird. This was a VERY well done drama.
A Date With the Future-Long and boring.
The Furthest Distance-very beautiful and I love Leo but the pacing is weird to me and the ex is annoying.
Dine with Love-a horrible Male lead. Like he's the worst. But you root for them. idk. Makes you hungry
My Everlasting Bride-mini drama with a mini budget as ya'll know. I had a good time for the two hours. Yes it was absolutely ridiculous. He was so fine.
My Decoy Bride-I mean. They were pretty. Another mini.
The Snow Moon-another mini. It's tragic. And I actually enjoyed for the most part and thought because it's mini that it would end differently. NOPE.
The inextricable Destiny- they do everything in THEIR POWER to make you hate this drama. There were so many points where they could've done better and didnt. I hate that. Don't waste your time.
Fireworks of my Heart-Unpop opinion but he makes incredibly boring dramas. Female lead has NO backbone. And he promises he wont go back but does.

Performative Badassery & Women in Kdramas
When I said I wrote an essay, I meant essay. This is a long one! Grab a snack and venture below the read more. I’ll see you at the end!
———-
You know the feeling. The drama begins. Our female main lead walks onto screen. She’s a successful businesswoman, a hotshot detective, clever lawyer, smartass retail worker, etc, etc. She stares down a random man to prove she’s the powerful one here. Or kicks some ass. Or rattles off a bunch of demands to her workers. Or talks fast to show off her intelligence.
Then she meets the male lead. There’re fireworks. Slowly we find our female lead has a softer side. Good to know. 3-dimensional and complex characters are important. It’s nice to see women on-screen who are both capable and emotional. Kick ass and feminine.
But slowly… something starts to go wrong. She seems to be crying more than showing literally any other kind of emotion. And is it just me or is she getting saved and manhandled and flustered quite a lot for a woman who we were told was so well put together? Sure, the circumstances are extreme. But they’re extreme for the male lead too and he seems to be managing just fine for some reason. Also, if both of them are ordinary people with no on-screen fighting experience, how come he’s so great at throwing fists out of nowhere and she’s busy keeping hidden or needing rescuing? Exactly how many times can one person just faint like that without anyone checking to see if she has a medical condition?
By the drama’s end our lead has gone through trials and tribulations. She’s fallen in love too, I’m happy for her. But… now that the story’s ending and she’s getting in one last chance to show us she’s a “badass”, why am I left feeling hollow? She’s showing us how tough she is but… we ALL spent this whole drama watching her have absolutely no agency or such a little amount that she might as well have been trying to put out a fire with a water-pistol. It’s almost like her previous badassery (in whatever form it may have been - I don’t mean badass only in terms of being able to throw a good punch) was just a façade. A way to hook in female viewers like me who want to see something more than a wilting wallflower or one-trick Cinderella. But the tiniest knock and the cardboard house collapses.
And no matter how many times we get throwaway lines about her being “the smartest/toughest/scariest/most capable one here” it doesn’t ring true compared to the actual character we’re watching.
Rom-coms, melos and sagueks especially (but many more genres besides), have a real problem when it comes to performative badassery in their female characters. The writers give us a female lead they claim is hyper competent, but the reality is totally different. Any plot that features romance, almost always features this. Honestly the way the start of the relationship in dramas actively MURDERS the female character’s agency could be its own essay so I won’t go deep, just know the two are 100% linked.
The “Faux Action Girl” Problem

I absolutely love Queen of Tears. Great acting. Great plot. Love the comedy. And it is also bringing out the internalised Misogyny of people. I see people hating on Hae in. And I don't think people understand that this is a typical CEO romance and the only thing that has changed is the gender. Which means all the things you're hating Hae In for; like lack of communication, noticing the lover after some major changes etc etc, are the same things you see in a man and you go "oh my gods he was in so much pain 🥺".
Because Hae in is a typical chaebol. The only difference is she's a woman now. And you expect her to be more nurturing, more caring, more communicative than the man. And that's why you hate her. Big deal people. She's human. She has her flaws. We're seeing her character grow.
Do better people!

Can I just talk about how beautiful Kate looks as a Viscountess? And the dress? The way they made her style very Indian and desi? Even her jewelleries are gold and jhumka-like? As a dark skinned brown girl who have faced colourism in her own country, watching Simone Ashley as Kate Sharma healed me. And seeing her wearing a proper indian gown and looking every bit of Indian as she is, in a mainstream popular english series and shown as an 'object of desire' and a beauty? I can't even explain how much it means. I'm glad they didn’t try to make her into a British lady, making her wear very victorian english gowns. Instead they let her have her own style, own cultural influence. I mean you can literally wear her entire look in a South Asian wedding and it will actually be very much in style.
Thank you Bridgerton. Thank you Shondaland. You healed something in me you didn’t even break.
