A creepy guy with too much Axe Body Spray and hair gel jumps into an investigation out of the blue. Wearing so much Affliction that he sparkles in the night. The ghosts can see him punching the air from a mile away. He's ready to kick some ghost ASS if they don't answer him. BUT!! He screams when the breeze touches his skin.
"My name is Zak Bagans. I've never believed in ghosts until I came face to face with one. So I set out on a quest to capture what I once saw onto video....With no big camera crews following us around, I am joined only by my fellow investigator Nick Groff and our equipment tech Aaron Goodwin. The three of us will travel to the some of most highly active paranormal locations, where we will spend an entire night, being locked down from dusk until dawn.... Raw... Extreme... Three-Binge Worthy Paranormal Shows on YouTube
Tumblr media
If you’re into the paranormal, you may already know about Sam and Colby and the Overnight Channel on YouTube. However, there are three more high-quality, evidence based paranormal investigation shows you may not have discovered, yet.
My Haunted Hotel: This is a British based paranormal investigation show that just started it’s second season. The premise of this show is truly unique. The owner of Ye Olde King’s Head, a 400-year-old inn located in Chester, England, has partnered with two other paranormal investigators to create the longest running paranormal investigation in history. Twenty-four cameras run 24 hours a day, and guests check in to help with the investigation. Season 1 can be binge watched now, and the first two episodes of season 2 have already aired.
Death Walker: Nick Groff’s Death Walker airs on Discovery+ UK. However, the seasoned paranormal investigator has the first 24 episodes posted in a playlist on his YouTube Channel. Groff’s investigative style and theories regarding the paranormal have evolved since his Ghost Adventure days. Gone are the days of demon paranoia. Instead, Groff spends each episode testing paranormal theories like the stone tape theory and thought form entities.
Amy’s Crypt: This young Australian paranormal investigator approaches each location with a healthy dose of skepticism and prides herself on providing an unfiltered look at the world of paranormal investigation. Her camera man, Jared, is the programmer of the mobile apps GhostTube, GhostTube Vox, and GhostTube SLS, apps that put ghost hunting in the hands of the average enthusiast.
If you have any paranormal investigation recommendations, feel free to leave them in the comments.

Paranormal Lockdown - S3E4
I figured since I've already done posts featuring Buzzfeed Unsolved and Ghost Adventures, I figured I would keep the ball rolling and find other shows that investigate Bobby Mackeys.
As a side note, to keep things brief I cherry pick the moments I can discuss using established facts. I don't like spending time making fun of people like this when they pretend to feel a ghost in the room, its just not worth it.
---
Tumblr media
Oh my god! I looked for a picture of the rooftop to help identify the different additions to the buildings over the years but I couldn't find a good picture. I should have watched these ghost shows as a visual reference!
---
So it turns out that one of the men who was on the Ghost Adventures episode covering BM's is the host for Paranormal Lockdown. Not only that, it was the was the dude who said that a spirit that followed him home after the hunt ruined his marriage. Ghost Divorce.
---
Tumblr media
I do want to thank this show for not bringing up satanism when they first introduce the story of Pearl Bryan. They did slip up by saying the murder followed a botched abortion, which Scott Jackson planned to do, but it never actually happened (the coroner made note that there was no trauma beyond her decapitation and cut hand, and that her baby was healthy when she died).
---
"But as Nick and Katrina dug deeper, they found that the facts of Pearl Bryan's death may conflict with the rumors."
Wait so they ACTUALLY did research? Is this going to be a nice post and not me getting angry over dumb satanic rumors???
---
Tumblr media
So this nice looking gentleman is said to have done extensive research in to Pearl Bryan's murder and I'm already in love (intellectually, though if I was 40 years older...). They don't show much of what he says but now I'm determined to find a way to contact him to compare notes.
---
Tumblr media
So they clearly establish that there is no factual basis for Pearl Bryan's head being thrown down the well! I only used that idea as part of the Dusk comic to give the story a short plot, but in reality it's very, very, VERY unlikely that her head ever entered that building. My personal theory is that Jackson threw it into the Licking River like he did with her luggage.
---
Tumblr media
So during the clips of the Ghost Adventures episodes, Bobby Mackey mostly talked about what he's heard happened at the club but he says he doesn't believe in ghosts. Here, he seems to say that he heard rumors of the building being haunted all the way back when he bought the building in 1978. This is the first time I've heard this and I'm intrigued.
---
Tumblr media
OH MY GOD THIS WOULD HAVE MADE A GREAT PANEL IN THE COMIC. I NEED TO WATCH SHOWS LIKE THIS TO GET VISUALS
---
Tumblr media
Okay, so I did make fun of this guy for blaming ghosts on his divorce, but I have to give him credit that he climbed into the fucking well and looked around inside it. I don't believe its a portal to hell but damn, its unnerving.
---
So this show did much, MUCH better dealing with the facts. Instead of interviewing some asshat author who claims Scott Jackson was a satanist and killed Pearl Bryan as a sacrifice, they met a real historian and asked him about the case. I learned that there were already rumors of the building being haunted before Bobby Mackey took over and that makes me happy.
Nick Groff, I'm going to stop making fun of you for your ghost divorce. You went back and dispelled some of the rumors and I always give people who do that credit.

Seems like there’s an exodus of network ghost hunting people coming to YT (like Dakota and Project Fear, Nick Groff, Katrina Weidman, etc.) SNC have kinda run the table over here for so long (and I guess S & R too) that I’m wondering if you feel like this is gonna provide more competition for them/criticism or if a rising tide is gonna lift all boats. Just basically seeking your thoughts on YT becoming the center of paranormal entertainment and how SNC fit into that, ig.
this is a really interesting ask !
i think what's cool about the ghost hunting fandom at large is that most ppl that like this type of content will eat up any and all content they can get. you don't get too many fandoms that will actively take whatever and from whomever. obviously that comes with some caveats but for the most part, there is a lot of overlap between the smaller fandoms in the ghost hunting fandom.
so, i think all of these ppl coming to youtube to make content will be cool and a bonus addition to the already growing content that gets made here. i'm excited to watch some of these ppl, especially those that i used to watch back when i was a kid.
plus, it gives snc a chance to collab with more ppl that are actual investigators, and that's just a positive all around. assume the more "serious" investigators don't look at snc as frauds just bc…. they're young and are a bit overdramatic lol

Who started the TV Paranormal show trend? Has it been good for the field?
The paranormal is a fascinating subject, with plenty of evidence for the existence of ghosts and other entities that most people can't see. But there's also a lot of pseudoscience in the field, from people claiming to be psychic when they're really just guessing or making up stories. Paranormal TV shows have helped promote some legitimate research into parapsychology—but they've also given pseudoscience more credibility than it deserves. How does this impact the field? And what are some ways we can make sure that paranormal researchers are taken seriously by skeptics and believers alike?
Ghost Hunters
As you may have noticed, we're talking about Ghost Hunters. The show first aired in 2004 on the now-defunct Sci-Fi Channel and ran until 2016 when it was canceled by network executives who thought it was time for a new paranormal adventure series. But before all that happened, there were Zak Bagans, Nick Groff, and Aaron Goodwin - three guys who started out as fans of the paranormal but then decided to become ghost hunters themselves. Their show followed their journey as they investigated areas around America where people had claimed to see things that go bump in the night.
Their show became popular enough that there exist entire websites devoted solely to debunking some of the evidence they use during episodes (and sometimes even real life). They've also been featured on other shows like Travel Channel's Mysteries at the Museum; A&E Biography; Biography Channel's Psychic Kids; Syfy's Ghosthunters: On Icy Trails Of The Adirondacks; Discovery Channel's Will To Live: The Final Journey Of Scott Carpenter And Paranormal Caught On Tape (with Nick Groff).
TAPS family (The Atlantic Paranormal Society)
The TAPS family is made up of Jason Hawes, Grant Wilson, Steve Gonsalves and Dave Tango. The two brothers (Jason and Grant) are the head honchos of the operation. They are based in New York City and run a paranormal investigating company called Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS).
The group was first formed in 2003 when they were filming a documentary titled "Beyond the Grave". It was this film that gave birth to what we now know as Ghost Hunters fame!
Ghost Adventures
Zak Bagans, Nick Groff, and Aaron Goodwin are the people behind Ghost Adventures. This reality television series follows Zak Bagans, Nick Groff, and Aaron Goodwin as they investigate locations that are reported to be haunted. The show is produced by MY-Tupelo Entertainment for Travel Channel in association with Zak Bagans’ Haunted Museum.
Ghost Adventures premiered on October 17, 2008, with an initial order of 13 episodes discovered from a season one DVD release at the 2016 San Diego Comic-Con panel that took place before Halloween weekend.[7] According to Nielsen Media Research data released in March 2009,[8] Ghost Adventures was viewed by approximately 1 million viewers per week during its first season run on Travel Channel;[9][10][11] it then began its second season run on July 21st, 2009 with an episode titled “The Legend Of Bloody Mary” (Parts 1 & 2), which included some special guests including Taryn Manning who portrayed herself as well as her character's name while filming The OC tv show back in 2003 when she was cast among other notable actors such as Rachel Bilson (Audrey Hayes)and Josh Henderson(Ryan McPartlin).
Haunting Evidence
The show was hosted by Dave Schrader, who had previously been the host of Ghost Hunters. It ran for 5 seasons and had a strong following, but was eventually canceled due to a lack of funding. The format was similar to Ghost Hunters: each episode featured two teams of investigators visiting different haunted locations, who would spend their time investigating said location before returning later on in the evening to share their findings with each other via video conference call.
The main difference between Haunting Evidence and Ghost Hunters is that while both programs investigated haunted houses, Ghost Hunters focused more on seeking out spirits or ghosts than they did trying to prove there were no such things as ghosts; whereas Haunting Evidence made it their mission statement (no pun intended) to disprove all paranormal activity at any given time - which created tension between them and viewers who believed in what they were doing.
Most Haunted
Who started the TV paranormal show trend? Has it been good for the field of parapsychology? Let’s start with Most Haunted, which has been credited as being one of the first reality shows about ghosts. It was also one of the first shows to use EVPs (Electronic Voice Phenomena), which is when you hear a voice on an audio recording, but no one was physically present at that time or place. The show also used scientific equipment like thermal imaging and electromagnetic field detectors, which are used by professional ghost hunters today.
Paranormal TV shows have had a very big influence on the field of parapsychology.
In the field of parapsychology, we have seen a great rise in popularity and interest. For example, over the last few years, there has been an increase in people claiming to be psychics and mediums. People are also forming groups dedicated to researching paranormal phenomena. All of these things can be attributed to paranormal TV shows like Ghost Adventures, Paranormal State and Most Haunted which have had a very big influence on the field.
Paranormal TV shows have had a very big influence on the field of parapsychology by making it more mainstream, popular, and accessible.
Paranormal TV shows have been a very big influence on the field of parapsychology. They have brought people into it and created new interest in it. While some people dislike them and think they are not real, others like them because they enjoy watching ghost hunters or other paranormal investigators on television. These shows have also helped create new jobs for those who want to become ghost hunters or investigators themselves by learning from those who are already working in this field so they can learn how their job is done correctly before starting out on their own adventures.

Saw this poll from Nick Groff this morning and couldn’t help but feel it would be a wonderful move for Nick to switch gears and start investigating UAPs/Aliens.
We’ve had plenty of paranormal content and I imagine it would be a lot harder for his shows to be interfered with *(by we all know WHO)* if he were to step away from the paranormal.

Ghost Adventures (an American television series)
Just another sharing of horror videos and today we are sharing Ghost adventures from Zak Bagans. Ghost adventures came out on October 17, 2008, on the Travel Channel. It is a series whereby the paranormal team investigate each haunting location with their ghost detector devices and interview locals about alleged hauntings before going face to face with supernatural entities. Each of their series is around 40 minutes or more. We would recommend this ghost buster series to those who enjoy watching paranormal activity and true finding about supernatural. Below is a video of their scary moments.
