I never used to ship Ren much and then I made new friends who were Renthusiasts and now look at me...

I enjoy hoping from ship to ship. Hyping up my friends and enjoying their beautiful works.

I'm re-reading Pulchrite's 'How To Stop The Bleeding' once more. (I downloaded the fic from fanfiction.net before the site went downhill). WARNINGS: Mentions of abuse, rape, murder, mental illness and a character wanting to commit suicide. Without a hiatus message or anything, this fanfic was just abruptily discontinued by Pulchrite and it makes me so sad because it was such an amazing fanfic. It's literally my favorite fanfic thriller. It's a Shaman King fanfic, reimagening them as normal, human adults in an angsty, psychological AND gorey bloodfest. I am saying bloodfest because the fic starts out with Tamao going yandere after Yoh sleeps with her causing a psychotic break, and Ren having an obsession with Anna due to the Asakura brothers and he raped her whilst using Pirika as a coverup for it (they're in an abusive relationship).

Slowly, it becomes an all-out war between the Tao family and Hao, with everyone else getting stuck in the crossfire of it all and the occasional loose canon like Lyserg who's mentally unstable, killed his own parents when he was young and has been abused by Ren for years as well as raped by a baseball bat, but Ren suffered the same fate as a kid by the hands of his family. This fanfic was brutal, but it had so much intrigue. Like, the whole Lyserg thing. For the majority of the fanfic he was portrayed as the innocent victim that seemed too terrified to leave Ren, struggling with trauma and anxiety attacks. But as the story keeps taking twists and turns, you learn he's actually struggling with multiple personalities, including a psychopathic one that butchered his parents with an axe, was so dangerous and unstable he was at the max protected ward and the doctors who treated him literally say he seems to have some control over his personality switches and that his dark personality uses his traumatized, victimized personality as a shield. Implying he's been playing all his friends by making himself Ren's 'poor victim' and that his dark persona can be just as bad as Ren. This fic is glorious, and I'll forever mourn the fact its not finished. I want to see how it ends, like, does Nichrom kill Tamao or do they become a romantic version of the Lyserg and Ren dynamic? What happens to Ren and Kanna's kid? Do Horohoro, Anna and Pirika escape the Tao family torture unit and live to see the end? Can Hao win against the Tao family after he kidnapped Jun? Will Yoh survive and speaking about where the fic left him off- what on earth is the deal with that Viktor dude and why did 9 year old Ren wanted to commit suicide because of it? Does it has to do with the torture and rape he went through as a kid?! ANSWER ME PULCHRITE!!!

Starting today, we've updated our accounts and socials to Nichrome Media instead of Counterbury Tales (the comic will still be called 'Counterbury Tales' as will the Tumblr for the comic). We decided to do this so that all of our future projects could live under the same umbrella without being confused with the original comic.

Alas this name change doesn't actually come with a fancy new office building or a wealthy toaster patron -- it'll still just be us and a few friends making art and telling stories in our spare time. Recordando Ren mató al hermano de Nichrome durante el período de prueba y esto llevó a este obsesionarse con la venganza al final como que si cumple pero término matando a Ren con ayuda de los secuaces de Hao pero esto como dejó no muy conforme, vaya bien dicen que la venganza forma cadena

Ambos lucharon a muerte en su enfrentamiento el cual Ren termina siendo vencedor, eso si Ren motivo a Nichrome a que lo diera todo

dudeeeee your ceramic dragons are so COOL im in awee!! I saw your thing where you needed a method to make the wings, ive never done wings except on birds and what i usually do is make a frame with twisted nichrome or kanthal wire, and then at the thickest parts wrap the joints with shreds of paper [the paper burns away in the kiln and if the greenware is dry enough dont worry about air bubbles] , and then wrap the clay over the frame. It takes some practice, but every artist seems to develop their own method somehow. Ive also found that hollow limbs are sturdier than solid ones. Cant wait to see what else you make though!!!

:O thank you for the advice! I actually just picked up some nichrome wire myself but I didn't think of getting to join supports yet. With the paper burning away in the kiln though, wouldn't that make smoke in the kiln? I go to a studio thats semi-public so I don't want to ruin anything

I swear I will start posting things that have actually gone through their final firings soon, but here’s another wip for the books.  Found this really cool shop on Etsy that has all sorts of super adorable and wonderful ceramics, and my mind was blown by moth sculptures you could hang on the wall.  So decided to give one a try and first painting attempt was of a Ceanothus silkmoth.

Not quite the right shade of red, but really excited to see how this fellow comes out, and was my first time in literally forever using an underglaze pencil for the detailing.  Used nichrome wire for some not as floofy antennae ʚїɞ

can u tell us about ur bfa piece? is it all ceramic or any fun facts? feels good to see trans art!!!!

it is all ceramic!! just white stoneware clay (with a lot of added grog) and amaco underglazes mostly. some accent elements (the couch, the blanket) had real glassy glazes though! I need to experiment more with stuff that isn't underglaze again lolol. Edit: I forgot! The deers antlers are made on top of nichrome (high temp) wire so they are a little bit stronger. I think the bull's horns may be as well.

Fun fact about those pieces for you is certain animals are loosely based off of me and my roommates at the time :3 (trans households ftw)

my extra bonus fun fact is i was also taking a queer printmaking class at the time that were exploring basically the same topic, especially trans people having kids. here's some linocuts I worked on!
