note ; hello silly anon!! this was a cute request. ngl this was kind of hard for me bc I don't really experience writing about parent stuff 😭 but I tried my best. I might make a continuation of this with the relationship between floyd and the reader with the baby and their dynamic, if you want.

floyd woke up with a mixed coloured egg in his hair, he was surprised at first.

he immediately talked to you about the egg, how excited but nervous he was and was eager to hear your viewpoint about it.

"we're having a baby! It would be so pleasant to take care of our own baby, but I'm so nervous. what if I mess up?" he said to you.

"I'm sure you won't, love. you've already done a good job loving me and taking care of me, I'm sure you'll do a good job for our baby too. plus, you won't be alone! I'll be right here with you, along the way. we can do this!" you reassure him while holding his hands.

"you're right. it's funny, I'm usually the one who says stuff like that yet you're the one saying my things back to me. thanks, honey." he gives you a warm smile as he leans in to hug you, a little tighter than usual. you take notice of that and pat his back gently.

It's been a few days since floyd first woke up with the egg in his hair. he hasn't informed any of his brothers yet about his situation. for now, only you and him know. he says he's saving it to tell when the egg finally hatches.

you were both doing your own stuff. with you cooking and floyd writing inside his journal.

you call floyd over to eat as you've finished cooking. he comes in and sits down across from you.

while you both ate, you decided to ask,

"so when's the egg gonna hatch anyway? do you have any idea?"

"not really, hun. I'm not too sure about it eith–" he gets cut off by the sound of something.

"Is that the egg?" you ask him.

floyd puts his hand in his hair and brings the egg out. lo and behold, the egg is moving– or well– shaking.

you suddenly hear sobs coming from floyd. you tear your eyes away from the baby that floyd is cradling to look up at him. his eyes filled with tears, happy tears.

you chuckle lightly, "oh, you baby..." you say to him as you wipe his tears away.

both of your hearts were warm and filled with joy as you stared at your own little baby that just hatched.

"have you guys named it yet?" john dory asks.

"nope, but we're thinking about it." floyd answers.

"what about haven? it has a nice touch to it." branch spoke.

after a while of conversing and hanging out, with some of them playing with your baby, floyd's brothers, along with poppy finally leave your humble abode, leaving you and floyd alone together. with the baby, of course.

"you thinking what I'm thinking" you say to floyd while moving your eyebrows up and down mischievously.

floyd rolls his eyes and shakes his head while grinning like a lovesick fool in denial playfully as a nonverbal reply to what you said. he hugs the baby closer in his arms and intertwines his hands in yours.

im the anon who said "it's poignant to play an Io who has a similar personality to Ira" and i did not predict your reaction even a little bit lmao, so now what was once intended to be "a sad-gag but still a gag" gets to be yapped about

but yeah, it is interesting that the game so far has Connie mostly act identical to all Ios (makes sense and is a writing decision i really like actually: Connie doesn't know or trust any of these Ios, of course Connie should treat them all similarly), even in romance. and playing as an Io who is cautious, kind, a good listener, and shy (so not exactly like Ira, but closer to Ira than Val for sure) while in a Connie Romance while Connie is still as upset at having to even be in the presence of an Io that is like this as they are at Ios who act like Vals or are annoying in their own way— it's great for headcanon-ing angst, like the Connie and Ira scene where this brand of Io gets to see Connie treat Ira (again, someone with a similar personality as this specific brand of Io) clearly like Ira way more???

and like?? this Io doesn't know what theyve done wrong to make Connie dislike them? and the answer is simply "you exist in association with Val, and it actually has nothing to do with this specific version of an Io", and then for my specific Io, this behavior of Connie's actually makes Io cling more to Val bc my Io doesnt get what they're doing "wrong" to have gotten Connie's ire and my Io trusts Val to comfort them bc like... Val is my Io's best friend, and the more alone and rejected my Io feels, the more they are going to silently cuddle and try not to cry in Val's arms. and that's across the board, not just with Connie, but especially is true in a Connie romance

and then?? that clingy PDA just kinda? makes the "problem" worse?? bc if the only problem Connie has with my Io is just simply "not knowing Io well enough to realize Io is more than their association to Val, and Connie hasn't gotten to know Io themself yet and just has assumptions of them based on Val" then guess what is probably NOT going to make Connie want to get to know Io??? bc the answer is clinging to Val, Connie has already made their judgement on Val, and strengthening that association via clinging (in both a PDA sense and a "they are always together" sense) is decidedly not helping lmao

and it makes sense that, if Val knew Connie was writing off an Io with this personality purely based off of their association with Val (as Val like.. has eyes and ears, i assume Val would be 🤔🤨 at seeing how Connie behaves around Ira, knowing this specific Io has a similar enough temperment to Ira that this vast a difference in treatment is curiosity-inducing), that it'd absolutely fucking WRECK Val. and in a Connie Romance route, where Io has a budding crush on Connie that isn't going well so far kind of BECAUSE said association with Val??? omfg

(but also if Val began to hold a grudge against Connie for it, in an Older Sibling "I do NOT approve of this relationship" Protective Way, not in an actual way where bitterness is stewing?? id think Val was fully in the right. like, thats a red flag, to assume so much about a person and to hurt said person's feelings like that, i also would be against my loved ones dating someone like that)

but i do also, ngl, am kind of amped for Connie to begin to realize "..oh ...my god, im such an asshole. oh my god" as they realize that specific Io is way more like Ira than they are like Val and, in the same way Connie would hate to be mean to Ira, realizing they hate that they were ever mean to this variation of Io

and then another reason i like playing this fucked up dynamic is bc of what it says about Io intrinsically, that theyd rather be bffs with their best friend than abandon said friendship just bc their crush doesnt like said bff. and i get thats true about most Ios, that they value Val like that. but something about knowing "if you just ditched Val, youd have a better shot with making a connection with Connie" and that option being so much of an Absolutely Not that my Io is.. clueless to the concept?? like "why doesnt Connie like me even a little?" while fully ignorant to the idea that It Could Be In Association With Val, as if that answer is saying "6" in response to "2+2" (when really it is correct, so i guess that false-"6" is actually a fucked up looking "4"? sure). bc, even if someone put that possibility in my Io's path as an option, my Io would just be like "???? no? wtf??" like it just wont happen. my Io loves Val. like. to the point that my Io would probably become a Hachikō if Val ever tried to "nobly" perma-ditch Io "for their own good" or something. my Io is going to keep clinging to Val and wondering "why doesnt Connie like me?" on loop, exacerbating the problem, until Connie is the one to finally stop the cycle and actually get to know Io

so i purposefully play an Io like that, in a Connie Romance, bc i liked how fucked up it is, the angst is compelling in a poignant way that feels rewarding, i guess

so like. it is heartbreaking! for sure!! but also, it's a fun kind of heartbreaking angst! hooray!

anyway, it's specifically with this Io personality that i ship Val/Io/Connie but that's a noncanonical poly-ship as you very well know

another angle to consider is that Connie doesn't get why Io doesn't get it. certain kinds of Ios definitely have blinders when it comes to Val, but also yeah. it is kind of fucked up for Constantine to write Io off. and Val would 100% focus on that instead of, you know, the root of the problem

you'll actually get a chance to talk to Connie about this in the next chapter- something along the lines of

Connie: "Have you considered that Val sucks?"

Io: "Have you considered that I'm not Val?"

Made it to chapter 16 today which means Feyre and I have both had our first impressions of Rhysand's Inner Circle and ohhhhhhh boy

Its hard to pinpoint why exactly, but theres something so discomforting about watching them interact. I think the main thing is that for all their "casual-ness", theres still clearly a rigid hierarchy between them and they all seem to 'know their place' so to speak, its not at all like Lucien and Tamlin's relationship in the first book which genuinely felt like a friendship that was unburdened by their status or positions. Like, theres this one moment where Mor and Amren are like kinda bickering with each other i guess, and Feyre remarks that Mor is probably super powerful if she dares talk back against Amren (in an incredibly minor matter Im pretty sure but I already forgor ngl) and because this is the book where Feyre's perspective starts being Objectively Correct all the time, I guess that's true, I guess the only reason someone would dare voice their opinion on something to this friend group is if they were physically more powerful because otherwise you just level a fucking mountain during an argument

Anyway, Im gonna switch topics for a short moment but I promise this diversion is relavant to the point above. So, sometimes when I go into the anti-tags on here looking for criticisms or complaints of the books, I instead find anti-ship posts that are mainly just about trash-talking some ship, mostly ones relating to that whole Elucien/Elriel/Gwynriel shipwar, which I already have thoughts on but I'll save those for later. In any case, one day I stumbled upon this pretty long anti-elriel post about how the gifts Elain gives Azriel on winter solstice arent actually cute and it describes how she gave him like, herbs that help with headaches "because his friends are always giving him headaches" apparently. And then that post went on a whole rant about how insensitive that was of her and that she doesnt actually understand Azriel's dynamic with his close friends, but honestly, judging from this chapter Elain was absolutely spot on

And I usually wouldn't say this because yknow, its only one chapter and we're probably gonna get the nuances of their relationship later, but this is a book written by Sarah J Maas, her characters and their relationships are rarely particularly deep and, more importantly, her writing is incredibly unsubtle. If Azriel was in any way fond of his friends shenaningans I wouldve noticed it, because Feyre wouldve noticed it like 15 times during that whole dinner. But she didnt.

Its especially bad for Cassian and Azriel because it feels like Cassian thinks they have this great rapport but Azriel just genuinely kinda dislikes him. Not to mention that whole fucking mess with Azriel and Mor and Cassian and Mor having sex so she wouldnt get married off or whatever, good god how is every conversation between them not insanely awkward

Even beyond that, idk man, theyre all just so insufferable. I dont understand how Amren, ancient eldritch being trapped in a fae body that she is, can stand to be around them, I wouldve left them 5 centuries ago if I was her. I guess the explanation is that she finds the government position interesting but its like, youre SECOND to the most boring and annoying man on the planet only kinda ruling over a court that you dont even actually care about from everything Ive heard. Again, if I was in Amren's position I would not be hanging out in an APARTMENT in a boring ass city at the behest of a quartett of stupid bozos, I wouldve weaseled my way into being the personal advisor of Beron or some shit so I could watch the Vanserra Family Drama unfold live

There was one good thing about this discomforting dinner though, and that was how inexplicably gay Cassian was for Rhysand. He was really out there, looking at him with such love, calling him pretty twice in like two minutes being all "I knew I wanted a piece of him the moment I first saw him, the high lord's pretty son" like okay. Holy shit... The retired colourman might be my new favorite mystery, as always, spoilers below

I just want to start by how much more gruesome this one was, especially compared to the last episode with the ai. I really really like the more gruesome stories. It amps up all the emotions.

Also very fun story, like you know the murderer is, that's not the mystery. It's not the who, but the what... Oooo very ominous, very cool.

Also Lillian. She was there, ngl she kinda grew on me. Let's be real, we'd probably be just like her. Also didn't think she'd go through with the true crime podcast after getting sprayed blood. I'm going to assume john have her some important podcaster wisdom while they were outside.

Also, more Mariana, which I'm always happy about. Especially Mariana basically solving the mystery. Love it. Love her. Especially loved the emotion and her little moment with Sherlock in the cellar and attic

Further making me want a Sherlock and Mariana only episode, I swear they'd be so efficient. Also just Sherlock reassuring her that she doesn't have to the bodies, he'll do it. Like yes, I've been waiting for some Sherlock x Mariana, so far they're dynamic had only been making fun of John together (which is also great)

This entire mystery was just fueling my inner baker street poly heart.

Overall, great episode, loved the emotion, I like very much.

Here are mine:

1.) Cold Front ( I’m VERY attached to these boys and their friendship, genuinely top tier comfort characters. I’m a big fan of metaphors and phycological horror, might be my favorite art wise, both endings hit VERY hard in different ways, especially once you get both. It’s also in my opinion the funniest SIG game.)

2.) Elevator Hitch ( I love time loops and escape room games. The humor in this game is also fantastic, all the characters are interesting and fun to think about as well. I love all the capitalism metaphors in this game as well, trying to interpret this game, company and lore is very fun. In my opinion this game is visually the scariest, but I love the horror and trauma my boy goes through.)

3.) Dead Plate (Really like the story in this! Especially with the metaphors (how surprising), I also really love each of these three idiots. I do like Rody and Vince’s dynamic a lot, however even though the gay jokes are fun to make, I do prefer them platonically (I also really like Rody x Mannon, especially with how complex it is once we see that ending cutscene). The art direction in this game is great, especially the colors! I also love the dialogue and comedy in this game, the characters are very well fleshed out, even the one we don’t get to properly meet!)

4.) Eloquent Countenance (Way too underrated ngl, sure it’s the oldest and it’s a tad confusing, but damn it I love this storyline, lore and characters. Angelica and Forcas are way too fun, both together and by themselves. It’s got such a good twist at the end as well and the lore of this game is just fun to think about. I also like the vibe of the game and how even the good ending is more open ended. The only reason it’s this low is because it is kinda confusing at times and the puzzles aren’t the most exciting, but I still adore this game and I really think it deserves more fandom love!)

5.) Rot in Paradise (This was the first SIG game I actually got to play myself! The character designs in this game are probably my favorites, not to mention I love friend groups in media and these guys are super fun! Not to mention the tone of this game is fantastic and does a really good job of setting things up and making you feel for the characters. It does a really good job at the creepy factor as well! I do like how the metaphors tie together, and how we don’t get to know everything about “the rot”, it adds to suspense. However admittedly my lore loving brain kinda wishes we got more about the strange curse. After a while this game will probably get higher but for now I’m not as attached to the characters as the other games yet.)

6.) Married in Red (It hurts to put this game last but I do love this game, art, and story! I think it’s mostly that these characters are probably the most boring out of all the SIG games to me (I do adore Myeong Hoon), I do still get brainrot of them don’t get me wrong! I also think in general this is the the most boring SIG game, cleaning up a crime scene and framing someone is a fun premise, but it’s a bit tedious and I just kinda wish there was more character focus.)

I PROMISE I GENUINELY LOVE ALL THESE GAMES AND THEY WERE SO HARD TO RATE BUT I HAVE TO BE A LITTLE CRITICAL SOMETIMES 😭

i have my opinions and ideas about where the show might be headed, but you know, this could be the very last season or there could be 10 more and the writers have to kinda work with that in mind too, so whatever happens and when that happens have to work for either scenarios which is not an easy place to be in

but ngl a bucktommy breakup would definitely break my heart (shatter it to teeny tiny smithereens more like) however amicable it'd be and i absolutely wish that if that's something coming our way they stretch out their time together before, so we can see them bloom as partners and get to know more about their dynamic, maybe let us see some milestone moments (yes, i am very aware that it'd just hurt more, but if it's gonna hurt anyway, at least give me this!!)

more on the perspective of the show though... yeah, Tommy has everyone's approval and he's clearly a great match for Buck in many ways that we already saw and possibly in other ways we haven't yet seen. but that's not a guarantee of anything, good relationships can hit just one roadbump that's too big to overcome, people deeply in love can break up due to wanting fundamentally different things, life is a bitch and that applies universally, even in fiction.

i do think they will be longterm though, whatever that'll actually mean in the terms of the actual episodes. i also think Tim might be a bit more cautious this time around to take the fan's reactions into account and that he might have a general idea of where he wants to go with them, but the man writes episodes 2 days before the first day of shooting, so i think there's a lot of wiggle room either way

in any case, they accidentally turned this relationship into a narrative goldmine, so they'd be real stupid not to exploit it as much as they can (and give us a beautiful love story in the process, final outcome notwithstanding)

heartbroken by no mat, but i was expecting it since min wasn't credited for this episode on imdb, and there was so much other amazing stuff going on, so i can cope. i do think they must be gearing up for a mat-heavy episode soon because his content has been so sparse thus far! we also didn't have lan this episode, which i'm good with since he got so much last week.

Ngl, jimin's military notes to men being discharged make me question interpretations I had about his behavior towards jungkook. Like some of his behavior/speech that I found to be uniquely cute or sweet with jungkook seems to be his behavior/speech more broadly towards younger men he might be in a "hyung" position to. For example calling another soldier "my baby" or ending the comments with "I love you" or his cute kind of teasing like "how could you leave me".

I know jimin is literally always full of love anyway, but its just the kind of stuff I always associated to being specific to jikook's dynamic. Now actually seeing even just snippets of him interacting with more men younger than him, its making me wonder if that's just how he is in a hyung dynamic. Its also making me think about the reality that we actually have very few relationships to compare jikook's too when we decide that its unique or somehow romantically special. Like we basically have the other members and their couple of friends we've seen public interactions of to scrutinize. Other than that, we don't know how they are in other types of relationships. Like we rarely see jimin in the hyung role because jungkook is the only one in bts who he is actually the hyung of (even if tae might be a bit childish at times LOL I say this with love), and none of jimin's prominent friends are younger than him, like taemin or sungwoon. Its not a bad thing, its just making me question how I interpreted some of his behavior with jungkook in the past and if it was actually unique to their dynamic for jimin, or if its just how he is generally toward that hierarchy demographic that we rarely see him with.

Ok first of all, isn't jm absolutely adorable? All these little notes he's been writing have made me feel so much relief. He and jk seem to be surrounded by a great group of people.

I'm not a Korean speaker so, I can't give you a 100% read on the language and how jm uses it but, @haedalkoo's recently made a post regarding what you're mentioning:

When it comes to jkk's dynamic, their hyung-dongsaeng interactions weren't something that I ever really raised an eyebrow at. I come from an Asian background myself so I can understand the cultural nuances when it comes to using honorifics and the importance of age hierarchies.

How jm treats jk, calling him "내 새끼" (my baby/ little one), is very typical of how someone older speaks to someone younger. In this case, jm says it in a very indulgent tone. I think jm is someone who thrives in a care-taking role. He loves doting on those around him regardless of their ages but, especially when it comes to tae and jk. The word 'baby' (새끼), as haedalkoo brings up, doesn't necessarily have romantic connotations to it. You can use the term when speaking to a literal infant or a pet. My interpretation is that you use it when you're almost overwhelmed with fondness.

I don't think it's ever been something that's unique to jkk because it's simply a term of endearment that you can use for any younger person. If anything, it shows that they’re very close.

What is eyebrow-raising to me, however, is their occasional lack of shits given to this age hierarchy. We just discussed how jm is very comfortable in a hyung role. I would say he's actually a very staunch abider to this hierarchy. He's unfailingly polite and often regards his older members with the term 'hyung-nim', which is overly formal for the nature of their relationships. Ik he probably says it in an exaggerated way sometimes but, regardless, you'll never catch him slipping. He kinda tries to assert his 2-month age leverage over tae sometimes and it's pretty funny.

Now, it is true that we can't compare jm in a hyung role to anyone else in bangtan but jk. He's the only one younger than him. BUT, you know who we can poke at? Jeon Jungkook.

Jk has 6 hyungs. I definitely think he's more lax with honorifics these days but, it's mostly when he's cracking jokes (e.g. recent obsession with yelling 'yoon gey'). But, other times he speaks to them using honorifics and with formal speech. Here is where we can compare.

I feel like jk's one exception to these strict age hierarchies is jm (cause jm's resolve turns into dust when they're together). It would be one thing if jk is constantly dropping honorifics and speaking more informally to get a rise out of him but, that's not the case. In a lot of their casual conversations, they use informal speech with one another, speaking as if they are same-age friends. And what is crazy is that jm seemingly doesn't care at all. He's also suspiciously very accepting of the fact that he's 'last' in jk's bangtan hierarchy.

Again, very eyebrow-raise-worthy. In their cultural context, even a 2-year age difference warrants boundaries. Yoongi and Seokjin's 4-month age gap still requires a hyung-dongsaeng dynamic simply because they were born in different years. So, the fact that jkk have such a casual dynamic is very interesting and very unlike the other hyung-dongsaeng dynamics in bangtan.

In Sapparo, they have that conversation about meeting as same-age friends. I was honestly pleasantly surprised when jk brought it up. I was even more shocked when jm readily entertained the idea. It was almost as if the thought was nothing new to him.

Why was I so shocked? 'Meeting as same-aged friends' implies that jk wonders what their dynamic would've been like without the initial age barriers. They could've begun their relationship based on the sense of being equals. We can see how important this is when we consider the dynamics between namseok or vmin. They just click. What I got from that conversation was jk posing the idea of 'imagine how close we would've been from the get-go.'

What's equally interesting is that I think jm's casualness to the whole hypothetical came from the fact that they already see one another as equals. Those age barriers don't seem to affect the nature of their relationship.

Their dynamic is something that's both puzzled and fascinated me for years. Jm treats jk how it is expected of him as an elder but, their relationship is so much more than just that. The nature of their relationship both does and doesn't adhere to the cultural expectations they've been brought up in. I think that's the most interesting thing about them :)

We got the Armand backstory! 😭 The first half of this ep had me screaming at my screen, cuz Armand's a effing LIAR; I was rolling! 🤣

We were already told 1000 times by Assad & Sam that Armand's trying to make himself seem as sympathetic as possible. That is SUPER important, cuz although he's my favorite book character, Armand is a effing MENACE in IWTV, TVL, QotD, and TVA.

Ok, they've clarified my confusion about the weird 1556 date, cuz it implied that Armand MET Lestat in 1556, which is entirely wrong.

So I'm glad my suspicion/hope was correct, that the date was out of context. 1556+239=1795, which tracks with what Les said in S1.

So Lestat met Armand ONE year after becoming a vampire. (No wonder AMC!Armand dish-ragged him, LOL!)

No duh, if you've only been a vamp for a EFFING YEAR. (I looooove the Time-stopping Gift! So happy to see it used again--the horses are especially impressive.)

This seems like Armand's taking Marius' place as Lestat's mentor (Armand WISHES, lol). And it's kinda smacking of narcissist!Lestat using him then dumping him once he'd learned what he wanted, like Daniel & Louis implied later in the ep. (He even grabs Armand's hand & drinks w/out asking; mighty bold! Ok sure, he kissed it first, but still!?) But their dynamic is SO different in the books.

I have a looooot of issues with AMC!Magnus.

Just a list of opinions I was thinking about as I was driving home.

Thinking about the fact that Jonathan Bailey did Fellow Travelers, Wicked, and Bridgerton at the same time. And the fact that Bridgerton was probably the easiest of the three.

I kind of now get what people mean when they say S3 Anthony is just Jonny. But ngl, I really love S3 Anthony and wish there had been more of Anthony and Kate in general.

I think Season 1 worked as a stand alone mini just fine. I don't think the anthology style the show started with works, necessarily, after that. I just kinda think what happens with regular television shows is happening -- these characters get to grow and change and develop and there's a richer story there and while I don't begrudge each character for getting the spotlight, the problem is emotionally attaching to these characters, and now I just want more of all of them.

(Honestly, I think Benedict will be great to focus on for a season.)

(I am just really going to miss Pen and Colin being leads)

(I also miss having Anthony and Kate around too)

And, I mean, there are things I'd like for more selfish reasons. I want more bridgerton sibling dynamics. I want some good ABC bros time. I want Kate and Pen and Sophie to be friends. I want, I want, I want -- and it's stuff not necessarily related to romance.

(I also think that 8 episodes in a season may not be enough to service all the characters. This show has pacing issues.)

Unpopular opinions, please don't hate me, they're my own subjective opinions -- 1. As much as I love Eloise, I'm kinda meh on her book, and not necessarily looking forward to her season (but omg, please keep the best element where all her brothers end up showing up at Crane's doorstep). 2. I'm totally glad they're going to the f/f route with Francesca's story. But, there really wasn't anything I liked about that book (just tropes weren't my thing) and I'm not looking forward to it.

They really, really, really, really still need to get to the last two books. I loved Hyacinth's book -- it's got such great potential being filmed, as it is a mystery tied in with a romance. And Gregory's book is batshit insane. Just, c'mon, they have to do it. I think Season 8 of Bridgerton in 2034 will be just a tired enough show to be as batshine insane as the book and I. Will. Be. Here.
