yooo is there any chance I can request parent headcanons for the safehouse crew (cod: bocw)??? been replaying the bo2 campaign and the Adler is Graves' father theory has a grip on me esp recently now that that mf is coming back

I imagine that Adler is a pretty distant parent, what with work in the CIA taking up most of his time and probably isn't able to see his kid much to begin with after the divorce, no doubt his ex wife has full custody of any of the children they had during that marriage. he's the kind of dad to buy his teenage kid expensive gifts to make up for the times he couldn't be there, usually related to something they were mildly interested in when they were like 7. And that thing is probably one of the only things he knows about them because they ranted about it to him when they were really young and naive. Russ is not as good as vocalizing his affection, but he's observant, and would zero in on any information and likes that his kid has when they express it... It's just that the usually don't with the distance between them. I think he does genuinely care about his child and still wants to show that they appreciate them, but just doesn't know how to properly connect with them on an emotional level, and usually doesn't even have the time. I don't think he'd treat his kid much differently based on their gender, he's still an emotionally-supressed mostly absentee father that his child would kind of just grow to resent as they get older. Adler is the 'he tried' dad. (I hc that Graves his kid is also the most likely to have a wild rebellious teens phase, and he'd kind of just let it happen so long as they aren't getting into any legal trouble because at that point their relationship would be so strained and he's just kinda apathetic about it. I think he's the type that would come home late to catch his kid smoking, and the only thing he'd do is ask why they started and if they know the consequences of it, then promptly asks for one and never brings it up again.)

Hudson, on the contrary, would be the perfect dad. Girl dad 100%, this man has a wife and two daughters (I think, might need to double check this one, but point still stands because I think he'd be good with girls). This man deserves a bo burnham 1985 edit. I think that he's really the type of guy who tries to squeeze in as much quality time with his family even with his work, and is the type to frequently show affection and pride for his children. Jason is completely soft for his wife and children, in contrast to how much of a no-nonsense hardass he is on the job. I am utterly convinced that this is the man who would always play along with his daughter's tea parties when he has tine and would never miss any of his son's games (he'd ask Jenny to record it for him if he's knows he's gonna be on a mission for a long time). I imagine that he really goes the extra mile to be the best role model for his kids, being both responsible and loving even with the limited presence he has because of his job. Hudson is the father figure some us needed in life ngl.

I don't think Mason would be an abusive dad contrary to what most people would take away from the one interaction we see with him and a very young David. I definitely think he'd have some major anger issues though, no doubt that trauma from The Numbers™️ and all the shit he's gone through as soldier and later CIA op would have an impact on him. He would never lay a hand on his own kid, but he's definitely shouted at them pretty frequently and has likely broken objects around them when he's angry. Much more so after his wife's death and being left as a single dad who barely has any idea what he's doing, and the only other person who can rein him in from it is Frank. I think he's more affectionate and less emotionally distant than Adler, but still just not as close as he should be to his child. He'd apologize for his outbursts and all but, being raised with traditional values from the 30s-40s, he isn't really the type to have those heartfelt talks about feelings because men are supposed to be strong and being emotional makes you weak and all that crap. Would be tougher with a son, and stricter with a daughter. Alex would become a lot more understanding and open over time when his kid grows older, and mellow out as an old man and just be proud of how they turned out despite how he was. The anger issues never really dissipates, but he learns to control it and be better for his kid for the remainder of his life. Mason is the dad you'd resent and have so much anxiety over in your teens and twenties but eventually make up with and get closure by your late thirties or so.

Woods would definitely be more of a fun uncle than a dad. More of the tough love type, but will always remind his kid that they're appreciated at the end of the day. But I also imagine he's a lot more reckless snd clumsy, specially as a first-time father. May not be perfect, has his own shortcomings in a lot of places, but he's really trying his best. I imagine that he probably tiptoed a lot when it came to raising David, trying not to yell at him too much and tried to be his anchor as much as he can after he was tricked into killing Alex (and then promptly going off on him when he shows face again after thirty years). Frank would be considerate and very vocal about his appreciation for his kid despite . Woods is the lovable old man that you'd have a lot of funny memories to look back on, and cussing you out is just his own way of saying he loves you.

I don't have as much thoughts on them but I think Park would be very overprotective, especially if she had a daughter. Would shelter her child and be very strict with them, making sure she knows how and where her kid is all the time, who her kid is with, and how safe they are. Would make her child wear a tracker watch and tell her all and any people they meet or see. Madam Shell's betrayal and her brother's death have definitely left a mark on her, and she would excessively worry about them at all times, to the point of it being suffocating and very invasive Lazar is the balance to this, more lenient and lets his kid have a right to privacy and freedom. Sure, he still worries a lot, but he has enough faith in his child to let then go off on their own when they're at an appropriate age. I also imagine that he gives the best best hugs. Sims would be somewhere in between, albeit more leaning on the stricter side.

How the Safehouse Crew treat their kid

Russell Adler

He's absolutely an absent dad

It's not that he does it on purpose, it's just what happens with his job

Russell tries so hard. So hard to be there, but a lot of the time he just can't because of work

If his kid does any sports, you can bet your ass that he's gonna be at any games he can

Now, that's not a lot, but still

Adler absolutely cheers the loudest anytime that his kid does anything

He'll also argue with the refs or umpires about dumb calls

Has been kicked out multiple times

Russell also buys his kid anything that they want

Christmas with him is like out of a damn movie

Presents are practically stacked to the roof and each one is more extravagant than the last

Is definitely the type of parent to dump a bunch of money on his kid for whatever they want

It's his way of making up for barely being around

Has missed his visitation days a lot

Every time he does, Adler sends money and presents as an apology

One time, his kid was staying over at his house because they got into an argument with their mom

He came home late and was met with the sight of his only child smoking cigarettes in the living room

"You know what those do to your lungs?"

The kid just stared for a second before nodding in shock

"Good. Don't be surprised when you get lung cancer. Lord knows I'm already getting close to that. Give me one."

The kid hands over the whole pack, and Adler takes one, lights it, and hands it back. "Don't tell your mother."

On the times that he actually has off and has the kid, he tries to make a whole day out of spending time together

Adler takes them to an amusement park or something, and its just plain awkward the whole time

But, by the end of the day, they're just a little closer

Mainly because they had a heart to heart on the car ride home

They even hugged!

Yay!

And then nothing changed

Jason Hudson

Girl dad 100%

He's the dad that everyone needs

So supportive, no matter what

Jason does, in fact, have two girls. And, if I remember right, he loves them more than anything

This man absolutely has been caught playing princesses and knights with his daughters by his wife

His favorite thing is to sit at the tiny tables and have a tea party

Loves his kids so much

If he had a son, Hudson would teach him how to throw a football

Definitely would push him to join a sport

If he does, Hudson goes to every game

Just like Adler, he cheers the loudest

If his girls get boyfriends, you can bet your ass that he's going to let them know that he has multiple guns and absolutely knows how to use it

Jason has to be told by his wife to leave them alone

He only does because he loves his wife so so much and he'd kill for her

Lots of physical affection

Hugs and all that good stuff

His kids definitely won't be touch starved

Is absolutely who they go to first whenever something happens and they need help/support

If he ever catches his kid doing something that they shouldn't, like smoking, he has to try really hard not to yell at them. He pretty much has to walk away to cool off before he can approach the conversation in a way that he wants to

Hudson and his kid are going to have a long talk that ends in a hug and a promise not to do it again

Overall his kids are well behaved and he's a good dad

Alex Mason

My poor boy

I love him so much, anger issues and all

Any time that he screams and breaks things in front of his kid, he calls Woods to come and pick them up so he can take care of things

He always feels horrible after he yells. Alex never wanted to hurt anyone. Quite the opposite, actually. He just doesn't know how to control his anger

Throughout the kids developmental years, he tries his best not to yell or get angry, but a lot of the time he can't stop himself in time

In comes one Frank Woods, who ends up coming over and taking the kid out for ice cream or to the park or just for a drive

He ends up being that cool uncle that the kid goes to when something happens

When he gets discharged (Honorably) from the military, Mason ends up going to therapy

And anger management classes

Only reason he does is because his kid ends up yelling back when he gets angry

And he realizes that he fucked up :(

So that helps him mellow out for his kids later years

Definitely apologizes to his kid for how they were raised

Alex won't over explain or get all mushy, but it'll come up as a simple "I'm sorry for how you were raised," and leave it at that

Will express his feelings through gifts or spending quality time with his kid

If he gets grandkids, Alex will take that as the time to make up for his kids shitty childhood

Best granddad for real

When he's older, he won't mind as much when it comes to telling his kid that he's proud of them

His kid would be used to loud noises by double digits

Woods would absolutely not know that his kid was sneaking out until Alex caught them

He doesn't particularly care, but he's a little disappointed that they didn't ask him if they could go

Instead of yelling, he would sit them down and have a serious discussion

Lots of "You could have just asked," and, "How many times have you done it?"

Basically he'd get his kid to quit because he knows it's a bad habit

I can't remember if he's a smoker or not, but if he is he would go through the process of quitting with said kid

She's kind of a shitty mom, ngl

Park can be good at it when she wants to, but she's got her own shit that he's going through

She can't handle a kid

In the early years, she's a little neglectful and absent

Then she does a full 180 and goes full over-protective mom mode

Trackers, constant phone calls, reassuring messages

The whole nine yards

She'll try her best to stop if her kid says something, but her anxiety is way too high to stop fully

Definitely the kind of mom to apologize through gifts

One fond memory that her kid would have of their younger years is her sneaking into their room and climbing into bed with them

She just sat there and held them, silently telling them how much she loved them

Helen thought their kid was asleep, not awake and hearing everything she was saying

Park definitely let her kid sneak into her bed when they had nightmares or got sick

She secretly loves it and is sad when they stop doing it

"Do you think they liked me?", you ask Keegan sheepishly, you two had just gotten into the car after meeting his family, "Are you kidding me? They loved you baby, don't worry." He puts a his hand gently on your thigh as he drives, and after a while of chatting about his family, he pulls out his wallet with one hand, "Here, take this and look at the photos.", you take the wallet with a curious look, inside, you saw pictures of him and his mother, father, brother, and sister, the folks that you met today, until you looked at the last photo, "Who's this?", you turn the photo to him, it's a picture of him when he was about ten, sitting next to an elderly woman with long, black and grey hair. "My grandma, Penelope.", your face softens as you look back at the photo, he's sitting next to her, a little shovel in his hand and some dirt on his knees, while she's smiling at the camera, holding some book. You smile a little, "Aw, Keegan...".

As you kept looking at the photo, he started talking, almost in a nostalgic trance, "I used to dig little holes for her flowers in the backyard of her house, I waited to do it every spring.", you look over at him quietly as you put the photo back in his wallet, "How is she now?", you ask him, curious as to why he's never brought her up. "...She passed away years ago, in her sleep.". You're screaming at yourself in the back of your mind, no wonder he never brought her up!!! "I'm so sorry, I didn-", "It's ok, it's fine...", he chuckled lightly, extending his hand out to take his wallet. "You know...that "P" in my name, my middle name, it stands for her name, "Keegan Penelope Russ", my parents loved her to death...and I did too...I still do." You lean back in your seat, eyes softening at his words, "What was she like? Tell me a little about her...".

He sighs, putting his hand on your lap and holding your hand, "She was the sweetest, always took care of everyone, always wanted the best for everyone, she was always there for my mom and dad, and for me as well,", he chuckles, "she always snuck some money into my pockets whenever I visited, told me to not tell mom and dad...always...always put band-aids on my cuts when I played too rough in the park....always told me to take care of my parents and my friends...", he squeezes your hand gently, "She was a smart woman, knew her way around things that made my head spin even as a late teen...". You look over at him, smiling "I think she'd be proud of you today...", he chuckles, "I hope...I hope...but I know she definitely wouldn't be proud of my driving skills." You roll your eyes at him and chuckle.

"I....I want you to meet her, alright?", you shoot him a slightly confused look, "Meet her?...oh....ok, yeah!". After an almost seven-minute drive, he drove into a cemetery, and parked his car, leaving through his side and helping you out. He held your hand the whole way you two walked to find her tombstone, squeezing it every now and then. "There she is.", as you two walked closer, you saw thet the tombstone was decorated with some flowers, a sign that someone remembered her, missed her, and visited her. When you two stood in front of her tombstone, Keegan's arm went around your waist, holding you tight as he looked down at the flowers, silence filling the air, you didn't want to talk, felt like it wasn't your turn yet. You looked at her tombstone as well, noticing the small carvings of roses on the tablet, and the words "A Sister to All." written under her name and date of birth and death.

Your attention is directed to something else from the sound of a sniffle, and you quickly turn your head to Keegan, eyes full of tears threatening to roll down his face, cheeks red, and his jaw clenched, he was keeping it in. You lay your hand on top of his on your waist, and you rub his back with your other hand, "It's ok baby, just let it out, you're here now.", he tried to keep it all in his chest, cleaning his throat and wiping at his teary eyes, but he couldn't hold onto his feelings any longer, slowly giving in to quietly sob in your arms. He looked at the tombstone while sobbing quietly, "I miss you, God I miss you so much grandma, I miss you so fucking much...I miss when you told me stories about your childhood, I miss when you sat me on your lap and combed my hair, I miss when I used to help you with your garden....I miss you....I love you...". You couldn't handle his words, you can only imagine how much love she gave him and his family during her time alive, and you too had tears in your eyes, sniffling and rubbing your hand up and down his back as he calmed down a little afterwards.

You wiped your tears as he wiped his as well, sniffling a little as you held him close, he finally spoke, voice a little hoarse, "I think she would have loved you, I know she would have.". You smile at him, pulling him into a tight hug as he finally calmed down, resting his head on your shoulder and closing his eyes, taking in the sound of the wind, the almost unnoticeable scrap of leaves on some of the tombstones, the smell of your perfume, your soft yet tight hold on him. "Why don't we go home sweetheart?...I'll... make you one of the recipes she used to make me, and we can watch whatever movie you want, just don't choose "Entrapment" again, please.", you hold in your laugh, he was just trying to lighten up the mood after all, but laughing in a cemetery felt a little wrong. Though you two did go home to have dinner, and he made you some vegetable stew, after you two did end up watching a movie, it was of course "Entrapment".

2024 Horror Challenge: [28/?]

↳“I think you're looking for me.” Trap (2024) dir. M. Night Shyamalan

Plot: A father and his teen daughter attend a pop concert only to realize they've entered the center of a dark and sinister event.

Starring: Josh Hartnett, Ariel Donoghue, Saleka Night Shyamalan, Hayley Mills & Alison Pill (and featuring Kid Cudi & Russ)

Last catchup review for the day (even tho I definitely have other horror movies I watched lately) since these were the big four that I wanted to type up on here. I saved this review for last because I actually went to go see this one in the theater. Yeah, a M. Night movie, me, in the year 2024. Who would have thought? Mostly because as I previously stated in my reviews of Old, Knock at the Cabin & The Visit (and his daughter's The Watchers), my track record with him is, quite frankly, not the best. lol But hey, I love Signs. I was mildly amused by The Visit. Split, while problematic, is pretty entertaining imo. And I've actually never properly watched The Sixth Sense in its entirety (I already knew the plot twist so lol) but hey, that's considered a classic. So, I don't hate M. Night. Just not all of his movies are my cup of tea BUT I was actually pretty excited for this one. The premise intrigued me, despite there not seeming much elsewhere for the story to go based on the trailer. And a chance to see Josh Harnett as a villain, hello??? Sign me up! Also, I just really love the idea of a horror movie at a concert. Now, while I didn't hate this... I gotta get into the negatives. lol Overall, it is kinda mid. BUT it's because while there are some twists near the end in typical Shyamalan fashion, most of the first half was already spoiled for us in the trailer, so that's a bummer. Basically trailers these days suck because they think we actually want the whole story told to us before we see it when um, no. We want to be surprised. Now, as I said, there are some surprises later on, but those do seem a bit contrived as well. But also, the movie itself felt incredibly longer than it needed to be. We're at the concert quite a while considering plenty of the movie takes place outside of it in the second half. Not to mention, there's actually a good portion of it dedicated to the musical performances instead of plot. Now I will say, the music was good ngl, at least to me. lol So, that part is a positive. But that also brings me to one of the big negatives: This is a definite nepotism movie. XD The focus on M. Night's daughter's character grows in the second half in a way that had me go, hmmm interesting because it's not remotely believable. Partly because, sadly, Saleka's not a very strong actor imo. She tried her best but making her have a bigger part in the story was definitely a choice (not a very good one) Now, to the biggest positive of the movie: Josh. HE CARRIED THIS THING ON HIS BACK. Like, he was soooo good. He's very much why I can't say I hated this watch. He's what makes it work at all. Definitely my fave performance by him I think. Just deliciously evil. I will say, Allison Pill was really good with what she had to work with too. And you know, props to Ariel Donoghue really being dedicated to playing up the fangirl role as much as she did. She committed. Also, shoutout to Kid Cudi. He's really just a cameo but he def ate his small role. I love him. lol So, at least, acting-wise, there were positives. The concept was cool, it's just the execution (kinda as per se usual why M. Night's movies tend to be a miss for me because they're slightly off in a way that isn't always my thing) but it is decent. I didn't even mind that I paid money seeing it in the theater since it was enjoyable enough. Also, I watched it with an interactive enough audience that it felt like a pleasant experience. Now, I just gotta know, that ending... is M. Night just being silly or is he hinting at a sequel?? Because honestly, it did keep feeling like he genuinely didn't know how to end the movie because it just kept going. There were certain beats where it felt like we reached a conclusion and then, nope. And then we got that. Like, what??? LOL okay. Anyway, this one was interesting. I still have thoughts. So, yeah. That's all.

The Aftermath

uhh i haven't written in a while and i've been wanting to get back into it, and since i'm getting into 40k and making an OC for it, i figured i'd make something about him. i get my lore from youtube shorts and shit ngl so there might be some inaccuracies in this PUHLEASE don't cut off my feet and leave me to wander the desert i'm just a guy

In a small sector of a war-torn Imperial planet under siege, the violent, ear-piercing sounds of gunfire and screaming had been reduced to the whirring of Leman Russ tank engines and chatter amongst guardsmen. The Cadian 8th had taken the sector back from Chaos forces, and a platoon had set up an encampment for the night so they could rest before marching out to the battle that awaited them tomorrow.

Sitting on cracked concrete by a fire built from the wooden rubble of a nearby building, a medic was eating an MRE; white rice, with chunks of Grox meat. It wasn’t gourmet by any means, but it was quite good, all things considered– it was especially better than the corpse starch he had been fortunate enough to not be issued.

With the balaclava he wore pulled down under his chin, the medic dug into his MRE with a disposable spoon, shoveling it down his throat as if his life were on the line. The young man hadn’t eaten since breakfast early that morning, and after a long day of marching and fighting, who could blame him? For all he knew, this could be his last meal; a notion that he tried to shake, to no avail.

Finishing off what was left of his MRE, he tossed the pouch into the fire and leaned back, resting his gloved palms on the ground behind himself to support his back. He looked up at the eternal night sky that would have wrapped the planet in a forever darkness, were it not for the millions of candles and torches that lit the city they were fighting to protect. The countless stars threatened to send him into a deep slumber, as he would count each celestial body like a child counting sheep in their dreams.

After removing the cross-body bag that held his medical supplies and setting it onto the ground, he would use his thick leather backpack as a makeshift pillow, carefully lowering himself onto his back to avoid any discomfort with the armor he wore. Observing the stars that loomed above, the young medic closed his eyes. Exhausted as he was, it was a struggle to stay awake; fortunately though, he wouldn’t have to try for long.

“How’s it going, doctor?”

A dejected, yet optimistic voice called out to the medic, pushing a gasp out of his lips from the startlement. Turning his head to see who was talking to him, he saw another young male guardsman, presumably the same age as him. Though, he didn’t recognize him from his squad… Who was he?

Upon closer inspection, the medic realized that this was one of the men he had saved earlier that day. His memory was foggy at best, but if it served him right, he had nursed this fellow guardsman back to health from an 8.25mm to the right shoulder. Lucky for him, it had just barely missed an artery, though the medic neglected to tell him amidst all the chaos of the earlier battle. With a strained groan, the medic sat up and pulled his balaclava back over his nose, looking away from the guardsman and towards the still roaring fire whilst he opened his mouth to speak.

“Hey, there… Uhh, don't call me doctor. I’m just a medic. It’s different.”

The medic said, correcting the guardsman, who’s response was a grunt of acknowledgement as he moved to sit beside his savior.

The two of them sat together in awkward silence, staring into the bright flames that burned before them as they struggled to find something, *anything* to say that could break the tension and distract them from the stress that was slowly boring into their weakened minds, and broken spirits.

For the medic, it felt like he was going cross-eyed– he had become so fixated on his duties that it was difficult to think of anything outside of that, and thus, his mind ceased to think. The heat from the fire and the weight of his backpack stood as subtle reminders that he was there, and yet it felt like he could have been galaxies away, as if he were nothing more than a spectator in this world.

“Name’s Hector, by the way.”

The guardsman spoke with a jerk of his head, snapping the medic out of his trance-like state. He looked away from the night sky and down at Hector with a blank stare, processing what he said before giving a response, his eyes widening as if he had just been resuscitated.

“Oh, errgh– I’m Laevitas.”

Hector nodded, looking away from the fire and towards the man who had saved his life; Laevitas. Such a sophisticated name was fitting for a loyal soldier of the 8th, not to mention his (relatively) clean face and luminescent purple eyes. Surely he must have been a role model for his brothers-in-arms? It must be nice, Hector thought. Having people look up to you, depend on you, protect you…

Man, he really should have gone to medical school.

“What planet do you come from, Laevitas?”

Hector asked, leading Laevitas to look down in contemplation. The medic had nearly forgotten that he was on a whole other planet, despite the differing scenery and relative openness compared to where he grew up. The concept of anything other than the cramped underhives of his home planet was difficult to grasp, to say the least.

“I come from a hive city, back on Holy Terra. If it weren’t for my mother convincing me to go and join the Guard, well… I’d still be there, working in the infirmaries. I-I’m– I’m glad I left… I suppose.. What about you?”

Hector had never seen a hive city with his own eyes, but he had heard tales. Admittedly, he felt bad for Laevitas, though he felt it rude to say so. With a sigh of longing, Hector reared his head back and looked up into the night sky, seeing not an unfamiliar, empty void– no, he saw home in the shining stars above.

“Ahh, I’m just a boy from a small agri-world, you probably haven’t heard of it. As for why I left; I wanted to go places, meet people, maybe even find a pretty lady to settle down with. But… Can I be honest with you, Laevitas?”

Hector asked, to which the medic raised a curious brow, clasping his hands together and giving Hector his full attention. As much as he could, at least– his mind was still clouded. He couldn’t figure out exactly why, he just knew there was something wrong with him. Maybe he didn’t get enough sleep? Maybe the bright red glow of the beams from his lasgun had disoriented him? Maybe he… Wait! He had almost forgotten Hector was talking to him. Laevitas shook his head, trying to bring himself back into the moment right as Hector was opening his mouth to speak. The two of them exchanged stares for a moment before Laevitas looked forward and lowered his head, gazing into the cracked concrete which he sat on. Laevitas wanted to say something, but he just couldn’t. Couldn’t find the courage, couldn’t find the right words, he just… couldn’t. He wanted to say he could relate, but… Could he? He had been on tour for such a short time, and yet it felt like it had been a century since he last heard his mother’s voice. He missed her, but life in the hive cities of Terra wasn’t much better than a life serving in the Guard. She wanted him to enlist so badly, to go somewhere– ANYWHERE besides Terra! She wanted this, and he knew that. For this he cursed her, yet he longed to see her again all the same.

Overwhelmed with emotions he couldn’t understand, Laevitas’ hands began to tremble whilst a sudden sense of dread washed over his soul. Right as his thoughts and feelings threatened to escape him once more, he was brought back to reality from a tap on the shoulder, looking to his left to see Hector with his hand outstretched for a shake.

“Hey, just… Watch my back so I can make it back in one piece, okay? I’ll keep an eye on you too, don’t worry.”

Hector said with a smile, still waiting for Laevitas to shake his hand. The medic’s eyes darted between Hector’s confident gaze and the hand he was holding out, unsure of what to do. He knew this was a horrible idea, but what was he supposed to do? Say no? His mind was yelling “no”, but his body was moving on its own accord, reaching for Hector’s hand and giving it a firm shake. Hector nodded and got up to leave, waving to Laevitas before bidding him farewell.

“I’m gonna go get some sleep. Take care, Laevitas.”

And with that, Hector walked away. As Laevitas watched his comrade leave, there was but one thought he had:

Weeb anon returns :'D : Samurai Flamenco wedding suit cards in the spinoff app is probably the most infamous example, but there was also Lucky Star (wedding scenario official art), I think Hibike Euphonium and a couple more yuri anime I'm not caught up on (girls in wedding dresses are a lot more popular, wonder why :P ), Kaworu and Shinji from Evangelion had wedding ring merch and wedding outfits for merch… I'm sure there's more of it though, Japan is always on top of its subtle fanservice merch.

Interesting what you're saying though! Again, might just be me coping, but I honestly feel like Jamie and Damon could crack at some point, if only to spite bigots, since the world is pretty ugly these days and they're punks at heart (not the correct technical term… but y'kno what I mean lol). Kinda like MCR used to make out on stage just to piss off some crowds. I think their perspective has definitely shifted over the years, especially since they're getting a lot of younger LGBTQ fans and they know it. Damon's out there dancing with a pride flag, singing "are you tranz like me?" and kissing Seye in all fairness haha. But they probably don't want to undermine 20 years' worth of work and ending up getting asked about 2doc every interview or sideline Noodle and Russ even more than they already are. I dunno, don't wanna play a mind reader. TLDR: I'm not starry-eyed thinking it'll ever happen, but I see a small possibility of them being fine with it now more than ever, whereas there was no chance a few years ago.

I guess I'm skeptical of them not because I think they're uncomfortable with the idea, but moreso because I don't think they care enough about really developing the lore and characters. I also don't think the ship aligns with either of their personal, for lack of a better word, "headcanons" about 2D and Murdoc. Of the two, I think Jamie would be more likely to go, "fuck it" and let the writers do whatever. He already kind of does this - since P4, it's been the writers who have been the source of all the 2Doc hints we get in interviews, tiktoks, etc. Afaik, Jamie isn't involved in that.

Damon, as far as I know, doesn't seem to have any semblence of shipper vision. During P5, he said in an interview that 2D was happy Murdoc was in jail, and wanted him to stay there forever haha. And most recently, if I remember correctly, he said he didn't care about the PR side of Gorillaz at all, which I assume included the character interviews, lore updates via social media etc.. All of which he is entitled to feel! But I bring them up to support my impression that he isn't a shipper, and I wouldn't expect him to go to bat for 2Doc if he wanted to make a statement. But I might have missed some things, so if you or anyone reading this knows of any counter-evidence, I'm open to hearing it.

And that's true that canon 2Doc would probably be the final nail in the coffin for Russel and Noodle's relevance. And that would be a bummer, ngl. I'd feel bad for my friends who are fans of them.

That all being said, I think you bring up some good point, and ia that Jamon are both supportive of the fans and LGBT community, and are comfortable being open about that. But does that overlap with their respective interpretations of 2D and Murdoc? Idk. I think if I was placing a bet, I'd put money on Jamie giving Noodle a girlfriend before any ship between the guys. But my main theory is that management will eventually see that 2Doc is popular and accepted by enough of the fandom that it will help them trend lol. But I'm also not expecting anything...but it's fun to conjecture about.

Any pokeblogs you love right now ? Maybe because of story, or some because of art/style/character ?

Ohhh, yeah, there's always quite a few I'm into. And y'all know me, I like spreading the love, so this is likely gonna be pretty long. I hate walls of text, so I'm gonna put this under a "Keep Reading" tab.

But anyway, I'll be giving some love to both people I gush about a lot and some of the more recent ones I've been into.

- Even though it's in the epilogue now, @askthetraveller has probably one of the most likable and three-dimensional characters in the entire community and a neat gimmick with each of the characters only being open for asks for a very limited amount of time before they're gone for good.

- Owli is a good friend of mine and has always been a huge inspiration for me art-wise. Their current active blog is @askshadowridercalyrex which just has almost everything I like about Owli's blogs. Legendaries, beautiful art, anatomy that I wish I could emulate, a rodent, Spectrier drawn a little more to look like a gross monster... all we're missing is a dinosaur and/or dragon here. But hey, the blog just started so who knows?

- Bat is another good friend in the community who's also been a big inspiration for me art-wise, and they have two ask blogs I love for the opposite reasons. @askcapital is based around Bat's signature OC and seems like it'll have a bit more plot and world-building which I'm excited for. Also, Capital is just a smug asshole and has been a lot of fun to witness so far. Meanwhile, @askpharos is a more laid-back chill blog with lots of neat character designs and dad energy, and ngl, anything involving Leilani hanging out with Bell Pepper is basically serotonin at this point.

- And for one more good friend, I gotta throw some credit at Fay. They're always willing to put up with me asking for art advice, and I continue to maintain that @neverlandfaerai has to be one of the most underrated blogs in the community. Like, Fay deserves 10 times the follower count they have based on the quality of their art alone. Everything about it is very whimsical and ethereal, and their world-building, character designs, and take on Darkrai are all extremely original. Who would have thought Darkrai and mermaids would go so well together?

- @asksavel has some of most expansive and interesting lore of anybody in the community, so much so that it all started on another ask blog (@askomni , also a great read) and has a fantastic cast of characters, particularly the main duo Savel and Levas. They've grown so much as characters since the blog began, and it's been a delight seeing their relationship develop until the big reveal. I also just really enjoy the lore surrounding the Incarnates and how the blog emphasizes how negative emotions are needed to balance out the positive ones (like with Farrow not forgiving their abusive family, for example). I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how the blog progresses especially with binch kibby controlling my big stupid dragon now.

- @psychicduo is another more laid-back blog with probably one of my favorite ships in the community in Quill x Scarlett and with the focus shifted to them, I'm more invested in their relationship and Scarlett's story now. I know Quill and Scarlett have single-handedly changed people's opinions of Gothitelle and Mr. Mime respectively (and personally, Sophie's getting there for for me with Hypno), because Russ's take on them is so unique and so unlike what GF portrays them as.

Those are probably some of my top favorite blogs, and I shout them out a lot, but I also want to give some shout outs to some other blogs I've been

- First of all, Jordy in general, who runs @ask-neontiger, @askingstickypaws, and @teampursuit because they have been KILLING IT lately with the updates. I'm especially invested in ask-neontiger right now, and I like how the story has become progressively darker as the blog has proceeded. All three of the main cast is extremely likable, but I'd have to say Addy is probably my favorite because she gives off a "cool big sis" vibe, and I also like Gaige on sticky paws because they're a lovable scamp. And just in general, it's been amazing seeing Jordy progress as an artist and storyteller and even branch into trying new things, like their snake Eeveelutions and teampursuit being a Pokemon/Monster Hunter crossover blog. Overall a really cool mun with some awesome blogs to follow!

- Speaking of people who have been killing it lately, I think @occasionallucario deserves a lot of love, too. I always liked the 80's/90's anime style that Zero has going on, like they nailed that style between the lineart, shading, facial expressions, character designs, everything. But lately, I love have been loving this collaboration fight scene with Damun, like it feels like something I would see an actual manga and I am loving it! Zero has really grown as an artist and storyteller since they began, and I've been excited to see their progress. Seriously, teach me how to draw fight scenes like that totally not because I won't need it for my own blog's plot aldfhfaslkfh.

- For a blog that I understand has returned recently, I was looking through @askanrattata when trying to think of an ask to send and I really enjoyed what I saw! Even if it is older content and, the art style on this blog is so clean and friend-shaped and charming and just chef's kiss I couldn't help but fall in love with it. I always like seeing people use more underrated Pokemon for their characters, so seeing a Rattata and a Zubat as the main characters is definitely a breath of fresh air (especially Zubat, I don't think I've ever seen a Zubat character in the community), and the idea of a show Rattata is definitely neat! ^^ And heck, while this blog seems like more of a chill, laid-back blog, I like Ratsputin's design too. Looks very NIMH to me. TL;DR a "newer" blog I've been enjoying a lot lately, and I look forward to seeing more. ^^

- And finally, @dawdlingdewgong is another more chill blog with a neat kleptomaniac seal, and that's all it really needs to be. I vibe a lot with this art style, and I can't really explain why. I just really like the bright colors and the lineart and the different take on Dewgong. And I like how everybody looks very friend-shaped too adshfkasdhf.

lmfao same. it is SUCH a Henrik line tbh (I mean I'm pretty sure tonight is a Patrick Homes ep so that's not really surprising, Patrick Homes has a great grip on Henrik's character). ngl I'm hearing it in my head in a "stupid sexy Russ!" kind of tone and I'll be a bit disappointed if that's not how the line is actually delivered in the episode sdfdsfdfs

I was tagged by @letsbealone-together and @halfahundredcats to share my favorite albums of 2019! Thank you so much!!! 💕 And I'm sorry I took forever but christmas happened lmao.

Anyway! I did try to limit myself to albums that came out/that I listened to this year. And I typed out a lil description for each of them and added a "my fave" section because I wanted to, so here goes, in no particular order:

• Bohemian Rhapsody Soundtrack - I know it's cheating because it includes a lot of Queen songs from different albums, but I don't care lmao. (My fave: Love Of My Life Live Rio 1985, I loveee crowds singing!)

• Poupées Russes, LEJ - This is French so I don't expect anyone to know it but it's amazing. It's three girls with only vocals and a cello, they write their own songs and their songwriting is insanely good. (My fave: La Marée, it's all metaphors but it's about the Paris attacks in November 2015, hmu if you want a translation/explanation)

• Lover, Taylor Swift - This is one of the only two albums I bought in physical copy this year! (My fave: Lover, but special mention to Miss Americana & The Heartbreak Prince)

• The Politician Soundtrack, Ben Platt mostly - I'm cheating again because this is an EP but it's INCREDIBLE okay. Give it a listen if you haven't already, it won't spoil anything from the show. (My fave: I literally cannot choose. All four songs are brilliant for different reasons.)

• Fine Line, Harry Styles - Front and center as it deserves. The second and last album I bought a physical copy of this year. (My fave: Fine Line is the best song of the album no doubt.)

• Golden Hour, Kacey Musgraves - I have to thank Harry for his musical endorsements, he always gives us amazing people to stan. (My fave: Rainbow)

• Wasteland, Baby!, Hozier - Look. Hozier is incredible. I don't make the rules. And we need to recognize his service to the fanfiction community. (My fave: Sunlight)

• LM5, Little Mix - Ngl I hate the title, but the album itself is great and full of amazing feminist messages. (My fave: Told You So)

• Walls, Louis Tomlinson - I KNOW it's not released yet. I KNOW. But let's be real we heard more than half the songs on it this year, so yeah, it shaped my year (Two of Us was my song of the year according to spotify and I don't even like it for god's sake.) Sorry not sorry. (My fave: Habit, and I promise it's not just because he mentions Princess Park but... he mentions Princess Park.)

DRACO IS FUCKING TRAUMATIZED AFTER EVERYTHING LUCIUS PUT HIM THROUGH AND MADE HIM DO, ITS EATS AWAY AT HIM, BUT HE HAS TO WORK THROUGH THE PTSD AND EVERYTHING HE DID WRONG. draco has the worlds greatest redemption arc after zuko. also someone made an au comic where he and harry end up together and it didnt even seem like fanfic it felt so natural. after reading that i feel like my AU needs to have draco reaching out to harry during his redemption arc. like he needs to talk to him he needs someone to turn to. harry at first talks to him in secret bc ron and hermione are assholes still. then he starts inviting him over and making him part of the group and everyone is reluctant at first but they warm up to him. harry and ron are still best friends, but hes so busy dating hermione that draco and harry end up connecting (as friends). ginny probably has issues with it bc she takes it personally (re: chamber of secrets), and maybe that is a driving wedge between them helping lead to their divorce on top of her quidditch playing schedule and harry’s auror job. draco and his wife werent really that great together to begin with anyway. so harry and draco bond over that as well, and well thats we get from my au to the other fanfic i read. i took this and ran lmfao i would love to actually have time to write this out well though. im lowkey talented but havent really had the chance to expand on that. i dont practice my writing or anything enough unfortunately. being an adult be like
