I wasn't expecting to see South Park related to The Answer, but as someone who also likes Craig as a character, that's really cool. Also, I love our Murdoc latino, that's canon for me!

Yeah, it's been covertly and distantly behind that part of TA since the beginning lmao. I wasn't open with it initially because it's like, a chore to have to explain South Park to people who don't watch it, or only have an impression of it based on secondhand information (especially with how militant certain part of the Gorilla fandom was in 2017/2018). I guess it could still be a chore now, but I've decided to just accept that lol. It's been a show I've watched since childhood, so even when I fall behind on seasons, I still come eventually come back to catch up, even when I don't agree with it, and I'm very supportive of criticism towards. But anyhow - cool, another Craig fan! Tweek is technically my favorite, but Craig and Kyle aren't far behind.

And yes! I love all Latino!Murdoc HCs!

Thoughts on Gorillaz gatekeeping the Kong Exhibition?

I had to look this up... I completely forgot about it. I can't imagine that the people who have tickets will be the only people to ever actually see it. Maybe there's a plan for the exhibit to be available in other countries at later dates, or a plan to release a full video after the live exhibit closes. Because that would be such a small amount of people.

Also, I'll being kind of an asshole here, but I think they're doing too much with the level of secrecy. At least give interested customers a vague idea of what their money is going towards. I doubt it's anything THAT life-changing. Like. Come on...

Hot and kind of Harsh Take, admittedly, but maybe Damon and Jamie should just let Gorillaz go and focus on projects that would give them more freedom to say and do what they want…Gorillaz isn’t true to its concept anymore and ran out of meaningful things to say long ago. The characters aren’t interesting nor do they even go on cool adventures or arcs, they are just mascots and marketing mouthpieces at this point, and no one really seems to be having fun with the project, aside from the still decent music. It just hurts to see modern Gorillaz now and I’d rather they have ended things sooner, or even right now, or that they hadn’t brought them back in the first place…but clearly, the money and higher ups spoke louder. I just hope Jamie in particular doesn’t work himself further to the bone and gets to spend his older years working on things that actually bring him joy after spending 20+ years under constraints, drawing the same characters over and over again…I think a lot of people blame him for things he has no control over.

What's most frustrating to me is the fact that there are a lot of meaningful things they could say, there are just a lot of barriers, both external and internal, that prevent them from doing that. IMO it's the rare piece of media that can go on indefinitely, yet this is something creators/studios etc try and try. Just look at all the unnecessary reboots and sequels. Look at how Netflix drags out seasons of shows that could have ended years ago. It's so dumb. I hate to think of Gorillaz becoming something like that, but at this point, there's a non-zero chance of that happening. And yes, it seemed like, at least for a period of time, that Jamie didn't like working on it...hopefully the hiatus has given him the respite he needs.

Since you fic The Answer (It’s incredible and I think about it bi-weekly) I have always believed your headcanon that Murdoc is Peruvian as fact. I would just like a refresher as to how you got the that conclusion. (Totally not to prove a point in my imaginary argument that I made up in my head, that would be silly…)

Hello, and thank you! Also, I'm sorry for the delay. This and a couple other asks only started showing up in my inbox today, and I have no idea why it took so long. There have been moments in the past where I've received an ask notification only to go to my askbox and see nothing. So I wonder if this ask was one of them that just...disappeared temporarily? I'm sorry if it seemed like I was ignoring you, I wasn't! I think Tumblr glitched. And I hope you don't mind me answering this. I completely understand if you've moved on since so much time has passed.

I settled on Murdoc being Peruvian for pretty simple/silly reasons. My bio family has roots in Bolivia, but I didn't want to pick Bolivia exactly, so I went with a nearby country. It was also one that I had recently visited at the time, and I really loved my experience there. And, finally...it's been years, so idec anymore, I'm just going to say it...because I used to watch South Park a lot when I was a teenager, and one of my old favorite characters, Craig, had an association with Peru and guinea pigs. So picking Peru for TA was my weird way of shouting out that period of my life and a favorite character from the past fdjalfal. So, it wasn't a conclusion I came to with canon in mind, but I'm very supportive of the Murdoc-is-Latino HC to this day!

Reading this brought back war flashbacks, anon. Now that I'm thinking about it, did Murdoc ever react to TNN outside of his initial griping about being left out of the album rollout? Like, the album is essentially about him (lore-wise, at least) in many ways, and we never learn how the was resolved or talked about???? They just move on? 2Doc could have been canon by now. And they just move on. I'm joking, but I'm also not.

I'm happy the 2D possession thing never went anywhere though.
