Just to tie in my two themes this month----

Additional notes, because poll options apparently limit their characters:

Frodo finds great peace in watching the tides rise and fall throughout each day. He attends all the ranger programs on birds and seashells and fills pages with sketches and poetry.

Sam meticulously selects postcards in the gift shop for each of his friends and spends a whole morning writing and addressing them. He also buys Junior Ranger hats for his kids and a variety of Appalachian jams for Rosie.

Park rangers launch a Missing Person search for Aragorn when they realize his car's been parked at Avalanche Creek for three days. The search runs for almost a week before he comes strolling out the opposite side of the park, supporting one of the SAR techs who twisted an ankle during the search.

Legolas is first drawn to Olympic for the towering, mossy temperate rainforests, but the ground goes out from under him when he steps onto Second Beach for the first time. He spends an entire day watching the light and tides shift on the sea stacks, and he leaves feeling both full and hollow, like a bell that's just been rung.

Mammoth is only Gimli's first stop on a cavern tour, followed by Jewel and Wind Caves and Carlsbad Caverns. Wind Cave is his favorite for the unusual formations. He makes an obnoxious tween boy cry in Carlsbad for breaking off a speleothem.

Boromir is on a tour of military parks. He asks so many questions to the intern working the info station at Fort Sumter the kid has to go find the park historian. His favorite site is Vicksburg because that place was buckwild, though he silently judges one of the reenactors for his clumsy handling of a black powder rifle.

Merry also makes stops in Jurassic and Dinosaur National Monuments. He watches every park video, takes selfies in front of all the fossil exhibits, and earns his Junior Ranger badge at each one. He buys a keychain for Pippin.

Pippin actually gets four citations, mostly for trying to stick his hands in mud pots. He doesn't mean anything by it---he's just so delighted and curious about the bizarre landscape. He winds up with several thermal burns and dumps a king's ransom in the donation box on his last day.

Gandalf gets dinged by rangers for not paying the $5 fee for Trunk Bay, but he acts senile until they eventually decide to drop it. He gets postcards from everyone and responds to none of them.

Faramir and Eowyn are traveling together and do many of the same hikes and rides, but they do have some different preferences off-trail. Eowyn drags Faramir to a rodeo and the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar in Jackson Hole, and he goads her into Ranger Shelton Johnson's living history programs on the Buffalo Soldiers in Yosemite.

Eomer is bike-packing on his sport cruiser motorcycle. He goes to Roosevelt south unit for the wild horse herds but ends up spending half a day watching a prairie dog town. He takes 400 photos of them, mostly blurry, and texts them to Eowyn.

legolas sneaks gimli into elf heaven and it's the most lit thing to happen to elf heaven in an eternity. but at the end of the day gimli still dies (i mean he's a dwarf in elf heaven) (sorry about that but like go figure) so when he does kick the bucket he just goes to regular dwarf heaven. and there he's like, “oh hey thorin oakenshield my dad's boss! how ya been!" and they dap each other up. and thorin is like, "well i'm glad you asked because it's actually pretty fucked up. Well not dwarf heaven this shit is sweet. i mean it's fucked up that my fucking situationship is stuck in hobbit heaven." and gimli is like, "damn sorry to hear that My dad's boss thorin oakenshield. that's terrible." and thorin shrugs like, "it is what it is. the almost 200 years i've been here have been fun at least. what about you bro? how have you been?"

to that gimli is all like, "me? oh well you know. saw some horrors, fought some horrors, defeated some horrors. i actually just saw my husband like 15 minutes ago before i got here." and then thorin is all like "how nice! i'm glad your husband will be here eventually :)" and gimli is like, "yeah, EVENTUALLY, but he’s gonna get an eternity long lecture from mahal and i'll wager 500 million dwarf bucks that he won't waste a SECOND before complaining about it." and thorin is like, “what do you mean eternity long lecture.” so gimli makes a 0.0 face and is like, "ohhhhhh. my bad bro. i didn't realize you probably wouldn't have heard about everything. on account of you being here in dwarf heaven and all. tell you what though, i was all the rage in elf heaven."

then there's a long pause. slow blinking for a solid 30 seconds. and then thorin, with a gleam in his eye, is like, “………………elf heaven you say?"

Name: Lobo Pentecost

Race: Human (Innistrad: Stensian)

Class: Ancestral Guardian Barbarian

Background: Inquisitor

Ability Modifiers: +5 Constitution; -1 Intelligence

Campaign: Lobo was the first character I played in the campaign I'm currently a part of. Originally it was Lobo the Barbarian, Wade the Rogue, and Maya the Sorcerer. When Maya's player left, my DM wanted to bring in some new blood, but also wanted me and Wade's player to finish the arc we were already in the middle of. So I played as Lobo with Wade, and then as [next post's character] with the Three (3) new players we brought in. This was until our last session, when we smooshed the groups together, and now it's me, Wade, a Fighter, a Paladin, and a Wizard.

Oh I guess also I should say - It's Lost Mines of Phandelver + A Bunch Of Grim Stuff just like the campaign I played Astra in, with the same DM, but like, a redo. It's not exactly the same though, like I don't have much of a knowledge-advantage from having been in that campaign.

Backstory: An inquisitor descended from a displaced tribe of barbarians, worshipper of Hoar, and former Marcheon in the service of the Order of the Gauntlet, who wrongly accused a man of facilitating Devil-bargains. He thought this man had been making contracts with evil doers that would absolve them of punishment in this life and the afterlife, so he arrested the man, gave testimony against him, and the man was executed. But Lobo had been misled, the man was indeed a criminal, but not in any way guilty of these Infernal crimes.

When Lobo discovered his mistake, he sought out the family of the wrongly executed man, and bound himself to the service of the man's only child, Wade, a pirate. Lobo vowed that he owed the family the 20 years a man of the executed's age might have lived, and has been following the orders of Wade ever since.

This has forced Lobo into a life of crime, and though he has tried to direct Wade to more honourable enterprises, truly he wonders if he must just wait until the 16 years of his remaining debt have been paid, before he can exact a justice of his own.
