Introducing.... Children of Omnicron tyrant form redesigns!

I mostly combined n1 and n2 + Just some small changes I like, and I made them more animal I guess.. ? All of them individually, as well as a silly height chart and thoughts below

Just some thoughts here:

Grunda-

Grunda's colors are a bit confusing because they changed his elemtal colors in between, so I made them the same as Metta's

I gave him lil colored spikes to spice it up AND because Nadine has them, I figured it might be cute if that's why Ventra has them,cuz Grunda is Cool. Not that she'd admit it

Ventra-

MORE RAPTOR THANK GOD. She's so weirdly humanoid??? Ross said he should be avian, that is not avian, she is raptor

I know she has golden eyes but like... She's the only one with them? It causes a bit of a color bleeding problem because she has an eye ribbon, but I'm sure it's fine

Fona-

I removed his emo phase. Seriously, why is he the only one without white?

Also Metta's ribbon is red and his glow is red but we made his lava... yellow? Quickly fixed that one-

I gave him that horse blank thingy for spicing up- He's the more horse-like between him and Deena

Nara-

I made her antlers more Deer-like. Because my friend thinks they're ears. So. Antlers.

There, she KINDA has a 3rd flower, only outlined. But it's there. Oh and that under her eye is a scar. Because she has it according to me, because it's something she had in n1 and then not in n2 so I got creative

I also made her paws white to be more hoof-like. Just overall small things I like

Arqua-

WHERE DID HER BACK FINS GO IN N2?????? She lost her legs. The heck-

Other than that they changed her colors quite a bit, even if not noticeably, otherwise I combined the 2 designs to the best of my ability

OH and Metta's ribbon is so diluted for her. The heck, her water is so much brighter-

Luxa-

So originally I made him bigger. I realized Metta would be a literal spot on the canvas, so uh, just a touch smaller

I like the n1 one more- again where do fins keep going?? I liked his dragon-esk features!

I used Metta's ribbon colors, but I made the purple just a bit brighter

Metta-

Him and his forms from here, though I haven't thought about them much so up for interpretation

Mostly took ribbon colors and changed them, because they're all very desaturated, if this is his whole gimmick, at least do it right!

Glass ball. Please get a new form in n3

I didn't do Solus because it varies from person to person almost? Like, I certainly don't imagine @/nayvwriter 's Hope and my Ariel (not written yet) to look the same in tyrant form, so it really really depends.

Even small things such as main animal focus can and should change so probably not gonna make one till JV releases n3, at least.

[Not to mention that irl plants operate on a whole other wavelength than humans and can even be heard by dogs and cats when stressed. So who knew that a fictional plant deer has some scientific backing to her powers too :) ]

And here’s the full convo since the Mandrass Incident panel is only shown. And yes, it’s even funnier to think that Deena only learned about said Incident second-hand by the N1 Protag during the Netherworld story. Also glad to know that she’s an expert at holding grudges too :)

Hello there! For the Nexomon ask- Fenrir/Fona?

Okay, so I did some research for this, which mostly meant looking at every single appearance of Fenrir ever. Mostly N1, but also N2.

What I got was really confused. I got really confused. Mostly because I ended up looking at the other CoO too? And everything got all mixed up.

But if we just look at Fenrir... there is something there. I feel like he's almost... bored? He hasn't seen a truly strong human since Ulzar, and it's getting repetitive. There's no point always being at the top, kind of thing.

Fenrir has this thing about strength. He likes and respects those who are strong. This is backed up by... gestures at most of the stuff he says, both in N1 and N2. I am willing to provide quotes if you really want them.

He won't start a fight he can't win, either, but he definitely likes to test N1 protag to see if they're truly strong. He likes an opponent, I guess? But a fair opponent, and there aren't many of those around.

By the time of N2, he's obviously not getting into many fights himself, but he still shows an appreciation for strength - he specifically says he likes Jin because of his "ambition and strength" and calls the protagonist out on being a bronze tamer.

So yeah, Fenrir knows he's strong, but he's been one of the strongest for centuries (and he can't exactly go around fighting his siblings). Been there. Done that. Bored. He's looking for a new challenger.

That's my best interpretation, anyway.

So I’ve gotten a little bit farther in the game (currently in Lydia’s village chasing after her mad dragon). The lore hasn’t all clicked together yet but I think it will soon(?) and then I will finally understand why this poor mute child protagonist is wanted by bandits and was given a Tyrant egg.

Also shoutout to Fenrir, I was surprised to see him in Extinction. Are the others trapped in shrines too, I wonder?

He’s so pissy at the past protagonist too it’s hilarious. I want to reunite the ghosts and watch them bicker.

I have been avoiding the channels marked as spoiler in the Nexomon discord (and tbh the discord as a whole) until I beat the game and am able to safely enter without immediately being bombarded by late game knowledge.

Also, DRAGONS. I love ‘em. They all look so cool and I caught a wind type nexomon that I think is a smaller dragon.

Oh…That’s a wonderful piece of lore but now that’s going to be a doozy to fit into the main story (mostly figuring out how long each Abyssal were alive before they were killed by the Guild or Lateria). Also ignore the different avatar, I did encounter this convo before in my playthrough but didn't get the chance to get screenshots :')

And HC Abyssal timeline below

Venefelis (1,000-0): The real polecat (HC that she has phantom paws cause she has Pummel in her skill list :) and Operation Kill the Witch. Of course, after being forced to stay in the timeout corner for 1,000 years, she became really existential about her own existence, her creator's absence and trying to figure out why the Abyssals were made except being overpowered cannon-fodder.

Rotramus (700 [-300 yrs.]): Considering that the Guild would be at its infancy and still aware of Venefelis' impact, it makes some sense if they started hunting down Rotramus to prevent a repeat incident. Also consider he's a twisted mirror to Nara's personality (anti-human but will possibly answer any question to anyone that finds him) and might've been a rip-the-bandage creation due to Nara's infamy with her family's downfall.

Pluvean (500 [-200 yrs.]): Yet another pacifist Abyssal that was found by Palmaya and just waited for the Guild to kill him (but I like to believe he discovered Cadium at some point and was disgusted by the humans "corrupting the waters"). Even if he's the contrast to Arqua's short temper and drive for human adoration, Pluvean is also a bit snippy about stating the obvious and being revived past his expected lifespan.

Inominox (400 [-100 yrs.]): And just when the Guild develop a false sense of security with dealing with the Abyssals, Inominox comes in with the big guns and starting picking off any weak tamers he could find (possibly making the Frozen Tundra his main hunting ground). But with Ventra's pride and cockiness spelled his downfall when the Guild intervened during one of his attacks. But whether the victim was too traumatized to recall his trigger or the information was lost to time, the Guild was back to square one when the Abyssal was revived.

Helevolk (350 [-50 yrs.]): Of course, there's not a lot to say about Helevolk besides being a more unstable version of Fona despite having a surprising amount of mental/emotional strength (mainly with him breaking through the N1 Nightmare mind-wiping to an extent), but it's a bit of a mystery on how he got his name despite being just as mindless and violent as a normal Nexomon [Hele: "to hide" + volk: "army" or "person/people"]. And I assume Lateria killed the beast by redirecting his tunnels or cornering him in the tunnels.

Caelesa (310 [-40 yrs.]): But to make matters worse for the Guild, they have to deal with another pacifist, human-avoidant Abyssal that will surely make them doubt their anti-Tyrant campaign. Of course, there's no real explanation how she was taken out or how long she evaded the Guild (and/or Lateria), but she clearly had enough time to believe that humans were dumb and violent brutes that have nothing better to do in their lives besides hunt what threatens them (though mostly directed at Finn the second he explains the Guild’s history with her). And fun fact, despite Caelesa being Normal-type (like Metta), she has a interesting set of elemental moves under her belt (also like Metta) so do with that info as you will :) [Base moves: Rocknite Blast, Thunder Blast, Plasma Star, Psy Field]

Volcel (280 [-30 yrs.]): Then after that wild-goose chase comes the giant electric moth(?), also being human-avoidant but will also mock everything and everyone below him for being simple earth-dwellers (really embodying Luxa’s superiority complex, huh?). While there isn’t any concrete evidence on how he was caught (since the Guild jumped to making a standard Tyrant bait), I’ll assume it was Lateria and their extremely heavy ordinance.

Braccus (260 [-20 yrs.]): Here comes the boy~! :D And unlike the older Abyssals (and being the second-youngest), he’s the only one that specifically mentions hearing his creator’s voice and learning his mission to attract the world’s attention by any means necessary; which he easily turns to destruction and carnage (becoming the Grunda he was meant to be) until Xanders “Bare Hands” Nexomon killed the beast and earned his Gold Tamer promotion. Also his dex entry mentions him destroying multiple cities before reaching Lateria and/or Grunda’s Chasm, so I’m betting he started his rampage at Royalle City since a “unnamed Tyrant” was the reason for its downfall.

Kroma (250 [-10 yrs.]): And finally, Operation Kill the Witch: Electric Boogaloo. And what better way to complete her life's mission is to plop her right into the Immortal Citadel while having the handy-dandy ability to mind-control ghosts. Whether she can control both human and Nexomon ghosts is up to debate, but I'm all for her being a tiny menace using the IC residents, the Greater Drake Krainnull, and Ulzar himself when the going got tough with Deena the one-woman army.

Either way, I mainly followed the Abyssals locations on Precursor Mountain from furthest left to right (apart from Venefelis being past Kroma's position), though it's extra funny that both Braccus and Kroma's places are almost melded together (with the haunted woods being halfway through the Braccus’ maze) so that's kind of where the idea came from. Either way, how in the world was I supposed to expect that these two were the YOUNGEST!?!?

And I love that this were the first thing I thought of (if anyone’s willing to make an artist’s representation of the disaster siblings, I’m all for it :)

Hi! :D If the nexomon pair rambles aren't closed, do you have any thoughts on Deena and Atlas in n2? To see each other after so long without the n1 protag there has to be wild, even if Solus functions as a proxy...

Deena and Atlas!

(n2 spoilers)

So Atlas has been asleep for a very long time. He knows this. He's probably not expecting to meet most of his friends again. But Deena, he knows, will be there - if not immediately there, then somewhere. Deena, his guide to this world...

Is dead.

That's got to be a nasty shock. Atlas is suddenly all alone, no-one to turn to in this unfamiliar world. The n2 protagonist tells him what Deena said, but Atlas has no clue what Deena's last words meant. Why did she wake him now? What did she mean? What is he here for?

So Atlas is trying to fulfil the task Deena set for him without having any clue what it was, for a while.

From Deena's side, you have to wonder how much of this was planned. It seems like Videll would have found the bunker with or without Deena. So maybe it forced Deena to move up her plans, to uncover Atlas early... and that sudden plan-change meant she didn't have the time to check everything, and Xanders found her. I think the Solus plan was meant to be a lot more long-term than it actually turned out to be.

I do think she'd intended to wake Atlas. For his capabilities, and maybe also to be a friend to Solus as he was to Blue... and to her.

Atlas doesn't get much on-screen interaction with anyone from the past, Blue or Hilda or Deena, just some vague lines about the Primordial Tyrants. Which is a crime and I fixed it in my fic. But it does mean we can only imagine what their actual reunion was like... I imagine they missed each other.

I headcanon that the myth of a tyrant of life was around long before extinction happened and actually started after Deena decided to oppose her father

The solus desert in N1 is actually named after this myth but changed after the city was destroyed and rebuilt

When Deena gave birth to Solus the name was actually suggested to her by her siblings but she thought she was naming them after the desert :p

The lore that’s already been revealed in Extinction so far is so interesting to me. Besides the fact that we (the protagonist) are evidently going to end up betraying everyone, we also get to see the ghost of the protagonist from the first game, who tells us that her name ‘doesn’t matter anymore’ (paraphrased). As the former savior of the world, and the former Nexolord, shouldn’t her name have gone down in history books somewhere? But the new protagonist doesn’t know her name, and at her gravesite she is just referred to as “Heroine”. So clearly people marked the grave as important, but not enough to include more information other than the photo we find at the site.

In the beginning of the game when you get to choose your appearance, there is an option to look exactly the same as you did in the first game. The same hat, the same blue hair, etc etc. I personally didn’t choose this option, I went with the default female skin. I wanted a new look and outfit for the new adventure. But the option to choose the old appearance was surprising.

This, combined with the fact when meeting us for the first time Deena seems very familiar with us already, is making so many ideas fly around my brain. I’m not sure what the entire lore of this game is yet (being only a few hours in) but I am coming up with my own theories and ideas already. Playing this game is making me really want to write something that plays with the theory of a reincarnation and burying canon in a roadside ditch, but I have no idea where to start at the present moment lol.

Anyways more rants on the silly monster catching game coming soon probably.

But on the other end of the "Who's the N:E MC's dad?" conversation, there would've been some in-game confusion that went on in the background since (to me) Deena/Nara had the kid perfectly on her own ala parthenogenesis/plant deer Virgin Mary. Though I mostly focus on the default male avatar for obvious reasons, I'm kind of surprised that no one mentioned his similarities to Ulzar and the N1 protag.

Either way, it would be kind of sweet of Deena if she wanted to commemorate two of the most important people in her life through her son, though I'm also betting that Ulrich/Grunda just took the creative liberties giving him Ulzar-like clothes as an inside joke (definitely hand-me-downs). Still, since these ghostly dudes would’ve been watching on the sidelines before everything came in full swing, there had to be some questions about his hypothetical paternity somewhere along the line. Magical pregnancy or not, it would've been really awkward for everyone involved until they agreed to disagree on the matter.
