Introducing.... Children of Omnicron tyrant form redesigns!
Tumblr media
I mostly combined n1 and n2 + Just some small changes I like, and I made them more animal I guess.. ? All of them individually, as well as a silly height chart and thoughts below
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Just some thoughts here:
Grunda-
Grunda's colors are a bit confusing because they changed his elemtal colors in between, so I made them the same as Metta's
I gave him lil colored spikes to spice it up AND because Nadine has them, I figured it might be cute if that's why Ventra has them, cuz Grunda is Cool. Not that she'd admit it
Ventra-
MORE RAPTOR THANK GOD. She's so weirdly humanoid??? Ross said he should be avian, that is not avian, she is raptor
I know she has golden eyes but like... She's the only one with them? It causes a bit of a color bleeding problem because she has an eye ribbon, but I'm sure it's fine
Fona-
I removed his emo phase. Seriously, why is he the only one without white?
Also Metta's ribbon is red and his glow is red but we made his lava... yellow? Quickly fixed that one-
I gave him that horse blank thingy for spicing up- He's the more horse-like between him and Deena
Nara-
I made her antlers more Deer-like. Because my friend thinks they're ears. So. Antlers.
There, she KINDA has a 3rd flower, only outlined. But it's there. Oh and that under her eye is a scar. Because she has it according to me, because it's something she had in n1 and then not in n2 so I got creative
I also made her paws white to be more hoof-like. Just overall small things I like
Arqua-
WHERE DID HER BACK FINS GO IN N2?????? She lost her legs. The heck-
Other than that they changed her colors quite a bit, even if not noticeably, otherwise I combined the 2 designs to the best of my ability
OH and Metta's ribbon is so diluted for her. The heck, her water is so much brighter-
Luxa-
So originally I made him bigger. I realized Metta would be a literal spot on the canvas, so uh, just a touch smaller
I like the n1 one more- again where do fins keep going?? I liked his dragon-esk features!
I used Metta's ribbon colors, but I made the purple just a bit brighter
Metta-
Him and his forms from here, though I haven't thought about them much so up for interpretation
Mostly took ribbon colors and changed them, because they're all very desaturated, if this is his whole gimmick, at least do it right!
Glass ball. Please get a new form in n3
I didn't do Solus because it varies from person to person almost? Like, I certainly don't imagine @/nayvwriter 's Hope and my Ariel (not written yet) to look the same in tyrant form, so it really really depends.
Even small things such as main animal focus can and should change so probably not gonna make one till JV releases n3, at least.
On that note, here's a funny height chart
Tumblr media
What are they feeding Luxa?

Nexolord & co. shenanigans (Nexomon 1)
It's honestly been a long time coming, though mostly for the nostalgia and hype for Nexomon 3, but I figured I would look back in the story for any context clues to Nexolord/Metta's personality and abilities mentioned from his siblings, Overseers, or anyone unlucky enough to get on his bad side. Obviously it's going to be a massive list (with some spoilers for to Micromon and Extinction), but here goes!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First off, there's no real timeline on how long Metta's been Nexolord or when he started his Omnicron revival plan into action, but I'll put in a generous estimate of 2-3 years before the main story since he already put way too much fear into people's hearts to go against his authority until MC went ham on his master plan. Same goes for him commissioning MC's parents to build the resurrection machine and revive Omnicron for real.
For Overseers, I would assume that ex-Nexolord Remus originally had Hilda, Khan, and Jack until Metta took the title (and adding five more to spread out his influence). But it's also funny to assume that Metta indirectly assigned his siblings/Champions to a certain Overseer that either complement or conflict their personalities...You know, for shits and giggles. -Fenrir/Fona -> Ivan & Ira (Fiery spirit and moderately irrational) -Nadine/Ventra -> Remus (Unstoppable force vs. Immovable object) -Merida/Arqua -> Hendrick (90% charm and 10% backstabber) -Zetta/Luxa -> Spencer (Snotty rich kid with inflated ego) -Ulrich/Grunda -> Jack (Reliable leader but goes against authority to protect his people (Mostly connected to Netherworld Ulrich)) Nexolord/Metta -> Glacia (Cold-blooded tactician with an extreme ego trip) -Deena/Nara -> Khan ("Subtly" associating the family traitor as a wild savage who only cares about the world and harmony over complete authority...Harsh, even for a kids game)
Metta's childhood in the Frozen Tundra was already going to be shrouded in mystery from the get-go (and obviously exclude flashbacks in-game to avoid spoiling his identity), but he left a pretty deep impact on the three people he interacted with in the past (Glacia, Juliet, and Malk). -First, Juliet's a fangirl for him, so much so that she'll completely ignore his plan to destroy humanity if it meant getting a sliver of attention from him or one-up Glacia as Overseer. She also believes that he's a vampire (either when they were kids or into adulthood) and regularly reads cheesy YA vampire novels that she "accidentally" leaves on her kitchen table for someone to notice. -Glacia is 110% loyal to Metta and will gladly brag to anyone she meets on how she's the most "true and loyal Overseer" there is. Also, she's the only Overseer who's aware that the Champions are Omnicron's children (minus Remus figuring it out through context clues), so she somehow earned Metta's trust to learn that fact as well (though whether she knew Metta's true form too is up for debate). -Finally Malk "I taught [the Nexolord] everything I know" Micromon is either the best/worst person to be Metta's tutor (re: legit father-figure) to make him become the little tyrant he is now. Whether it's to fuel Metta's already-burning hatred for humans (being a sentient AI that destroyed Project Pixekai in revenge of the programmers who created him), teaching him useful skills to gain control over others as a leader (master manipulator, master technician, and more!), or giving Metta the emotional support he never had from his siblings or dad (headcanons galore!). Also love the little gimmick that Malk's name isn't shown to the MC since he doesn't properly introduce himself to them; only Metta calls him by name once when they're the only ones in a room or during Malk's last hurrah speech before MC fights Omnicron and disappearing for good. Also, Malk mentions meeting a younger Nexolord/Metta sometime after busting out of Pixekai and adjusting to human life, so he might've tried disguising himself long before they teamed up. Now I want to know if Metta first learned that Malk wasn't human or vice versa, but I would love to know what babey Nexolord looked like before he went anime villain mode. :)
Metta definitely was the one who gave his siblings their fake Champion names, mostly on the joke of Fona/Fenrir being Metta's guard-dog for a good chunk of the story (even accompanying him to Grunda's grave and keep a eye on Overseer Jack for the excavation). Besides that, it makes sense for Metta to have every opportunity to make a jab at his siblings and put them in their place in the current hierarchy. -Fenrir: Marsh/Fen-dweller, Norse mythos wolf that would bring disaster during Ragnarok and was bound by a chain shaped like a silk ribbon. [Similar motif to Nexomon Fenrir to have giant prison cuffs on his wrists and collar-like design on his shirt.] -Nadine: Hope (French), messenger/admonitory or showerer of blessings (Arabic), "the courage of a bear" (Russian) [Latter fits cause of her assigned Overseer being Remus and her tendency to put combat first over talking.] -Merida: Pearl (Mairead, Celtic), "one who achieved a high place of honor" (Latin), "a chaste girl" or "like a mother" (Persian) [Persian seems more ironic since Merida's nice when she gets attention but throws a major hissy fit if embarrassed or mocked.] -Zetta: Inquiry or quest (Greek ztsis), "a person that is intellectually curious and has a thirst for knowledge" [Mostly ironic since Zetta's dumb as a brick and has a love for shiny things.] -Ulrich: Noble or regal ruler, noble/rich heritage (Old German) [Grunda never had the chance to get a Champion name (until Netherworld), but it's interesting how his Nightmare makes him the ruler/guardian of Solus Desert and protects his people from the big bad Nexolord Remus...At least he got his priorities straight?] -Deena: Valley, church leader, spear ruler (Hebrew/Old English/Old German); "compromising, passive, and more likely to stay in the background rather than front and center" (myfirstname.rocks) [Even if she was a major part of Ulzar's fame, Deena keeps herself as inconspicuous as possible to ensure the MC's success too. Definitely didn't want to be caught up in the family drama again, you know? :)]
It is somewhat confirmed in the Netherworld end-story that Nexonium/Nexomite is more commonly found in the literal afterlife than in the normal world (and stupidly expensive too), and it also has the ability to incapacitate any Nexomon in its vicinity (when powered by a NexoCore) or keep a Nightmare running without a Warden to guard it. So who's to say that Metta used Nexonium to create the Nexocore, easily violating Ziegler's rule of keeping the dead dead and creating a power source that won't get traced back to him (you know, since he commissioned MC's parents to make it?). And it also shows that Metta had Nexonium stowed away in his old house, most likely studying its components in there or in the bunker.
And last but not least, it's not exactly confirmed if Metta actually sacrificed himself to revive Omnicron like the rest of Champions; he doesn't have a personal Nightmare like the other four (+Grunda/Ulrich), and you only get to find Metta's true form after the Netherworld story (ie. Killing Omnicron for real, dooming the current Nexomon species to extinction, and making a bridge between the Netherworld and real world to finish loose ends). Speaking of bridge, it's also confirmed in Extinction that just after MC destroyed Omnicron's soul, Venefelis was unleashed with the single goal to kill Hilda; unintentionally serving as the bridge for the Nexomon War and the future to come in Nexomon: Extinction. ...Also the MC (The Ghost of Nexomon Past) gets Metta's jacket and was buried in it pre-Extinction, so I'm betting the madlad did the blanket dog trick and it somehow worked against the MC and Nara. I mean, Metta's about the size of a bowling ball (five-pin/duckpin maybe?) so he might've had a chance to pull it off when MC was distracted by Omnicron and he just assumed the guy was gone for good.

Anywho, that's all I have for now, hope you enjoyed!

Primordial Tyrants headcanons
Lore headcanons I have about the Primordial Tyrants that go in my fics unless there's some reason it won't work. N1 and NE spoilers, but mostly N1-based.
Their human forms are mostly subconscious.
Details can change, accidentally or on purpose, but stuff like broad skin and hair colour tends to stay the same, unchangeable.
Metta's the only one who figured out how to choose his form completely
Deena's human form changed completely once, when she switched to the human side.
She used to have pink hair.
Similarly, their Nexomon forms have differences that vary over time.
Thus explaining their slightly different appearances in the games.
It's a subconscious reflection of themselves, kinda.
Possibly Metta can shapeshift this too. Undecided.
Zetta can move really fast in his human form. None of the others can do this at the moment.
Zetta thinks they could do it if he taught them how (and they bothered to learn), he doesn't think it's just a him thing.
this may or may not be true
I have a few theories on how exactly this works.
Omnicron can give out an influence on nearby Nexomon.
This influence can be countered by another, similar influence.
Nara is the only one who's figured out how to do this.
and has deliberately refrained from telling her siblings how until she's sure they won't pull an Omnicron.
This was her role in N1! And during the first death of Omnicron, too.
Metta never died the first time around, he just couldn't be found.
hence why he's around in N1 to cause trouble.
Metta can use the powers of all the other CoO, though not as well.
Including Nara's life powers – that's part of how he brought everyone back in N1.
Their human names they chose themselves.
Deena, Fenrir, Nadine, Merida and Zetta picked one human name and stuck with it over thousands of years.
Metta changed human name with every new form he took, and didn't really have a true one.
My headcanon for Grunda changes per fic.
Omnicron never took a human form.
He probably could have done, but he never did.
He was dismissive of his children doing so, but didn't actually stop them as long as they still worked towards his mission.
Omnicron was a terrible father.
Definitely emotionally abusive.
Probably physically abusive too.
Literally only cared about his children as tools to win his war.
It took a while for said children to realise this wasn't normal or good.
possibly until Grunda starts interacting with a lot of children regularly.
Arqua can take her Nexomon form outside of the water, but it's uncomfortable and she's not nearly as powerful.
This was sort of how she got defeated first time.
Ventra likes air with lots of oxygen in.
hence why we found her in a tree.
She lets Luxa have the high can't-breathe air.
Luxa doesn't need to breathe in his Nexomon form.
Theoretically he can swim underwater with no fear of drowning.
In practise Merida gets really angry at him if he electrocutes her ocean.
The CoO accidentally activate their powers when they get emotional.
It's not a purposeful thing. It just happens.
Zetta starts giving off sparks and the air around him becomes electrically charged.
Fenrir accidentally makes himself and the area around him incredibly hot.
With Nadine, the wind around her picks up.
And with Merida the seas start thrashing.
Deena's mostly got a handle on it (mostly by pretending she doesn't have emotions) but she either grows nearby plants or kills them, depending on the exact emotion. Or both at the same time.
Grunda's actually got a handle on it.
Merida can always at least somewhat sense the ocean.
When she's in Arqua form in the water she can sense a ship on the other side of the continent!
At least some of the Children of Omnicron have managed to miss the fact that having two birth parents is mandatory for humans.
In their defense. Omnicron was a single father.
And Deena was a single mother.
Add that to the amount of children being raised by one parent, and it's not that unreasonable.
They just sort of assumed that when there were two parents, one of the human parents was the actual birth parent and the other one was the first one's partner.
Grunda probably figured out this wasn't true shortly after he started running an orphanage.
This isn't a thing that comes up regularly, so it might take a while for the rest of them to realise…
The Primordial Tyrants have no biological gender.
They picked up the whole 'gender' thing at about the same time as their human names.
Omnicron didn't pick one, but nor did he seem to care, so no-one corrected the humans when they assigned him one.
They may or may not know that humans have biological differences often correlated with said gender. At least Grunda knows.
They have a tendency to get attached to things or people and then get very protective of them.
This is basically their version of innate morality.
Kinda like Tiffany Aching from Discworld.
Nara just managed to get attached to humanity itself.
Once the CoO got on humanity's side, the continent basically stopped having major natural disasters.
Because they can stop a storm or tsunami or earthquake or whatever in its tracks.
Not because they were starting them.
They might have been starting them way back when, but they wouldn't have been behind every natural disaster.
I have other, more personality-based headcanons for them as well, but they're a lot less formulated so I'm leaving them out for now.

Just some art for the AU :)
Practicing making backgrounds and made this.
Tumblr media
I wanted more of the forest behind the orphanage so enjoy this little path...
Also made some sprites for Moss and Flacke.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I tried to emulate the style of the games.
Also made some concept art for additional areas that aren't in the original games. (Alongside I put some fake Nexomon that I've made to make it feel more lived in)
We got a magical forest just beyond the Frozen Tundra.
Tumblr media
A plant filled cave just beyond east Ignitia (north of where you fight Nivalis)
Tumblr media
I just imagine that this is a long cave system connecting Ignitia to Cadium and the guild is... Somehow... Unaware of it.
And just some rocky desolate shoreline further west of the magical forest.
Tumblr media
I decided to try and turn one of my old pokemon ocs into a nexomon one and made her... ehh...
Tumblr media
Yeah, she's the daughter of Arqua now... (In my defense, she wasn't fully human originally and I wasn't gonna turn her into one)
Not quite sure how I'll fit her into the AU. But ehh... Oh well.
Her name is Minnie. :)

I don't think I asked this yet - Merida for the ramble ask game!
Merida!! Alright, let's try I'm feeling in the mood to be absolutely wrong
Nexomon spoilers, and a bit of Nexomon:Extinction spoilers
Merida, Champion of Water also known as Arqua of the Bottomless Oceans (iirc), Prisoner to Darine
Merida! I feel like if I were to rang the CoO in how much they tolerate humanity, (Deena dominates the top chart, but) Merida would be near the top as well
She's the world's worst volleyball player, and she even had fans! That's a human sport, and to get into tournaments you need a team, of 6 players. And you know I don't see her family loving volleyball all that much, right?
Even then 6 means she'd need to revive Grunda to have 6
So she obviously, at the very least, plays Volleyball with humans, like on the same team (and she needs to play in a game to cheat, so if they accused her of cheating she played in at least one game)
Now as someone who sucks absolutely ass at Volleyball (don't ask me to catch something you throw at me,), I'd think weather one likes it or not. Playing matches with someone (even if with a "higher than thou" mentality, which all of them have towards humanity), ya gotta at least respect them. Does anyone wanna bet a human had to (try to) help her with volleyball at someone point because she was uh... Not the best
I don't think JV thought that far ahead when he made it volleyball but I have, bastard.
She also has a fake persona, of like a cute volleyball girl(.. Merida, Merida please watch yours horns,) which lasts until you kick her bum
Still, her having one-
And then after your volleyball she leaves you alone because James called, and then she tries to drown you!
.. Because you're trying to stop the reveal of Grunda to be fair, but still tries to stop you!
Then we skip the tower entirely (she does say we have no idea what we're going up against)
Then it's nightmare time! It's weird, while everyone does have humans in their dreams (Nadine doesn't count because she's unconscious on the floor currently), Zetta bullies them, Fenrir makes a riot kinda, Grunda is the protector (Also screaming at the Nara thing) but aside from him, Merida is the only one who's civil
Or I'm assuming she is, hard to tell with how little we saw. But we can assume she was probably just having the time of her life playing actual good volleyball
Which is something to say the least, considering she's actually enjoying human activities - unlike the rest who are doing their own thing
And then n2!!!
She's apparently in Palmaya but she's currently in Frozen watching over the tower (James please this is like your area™ where are you.), and aside from a small memory thing with Atlas, she seems to be better
So do the rest of them, honestly, it was so good to see the Omni kids tolerating humanity in various degrees

Inspired by @zscyber 's fic with the whole time when Nara helped will Arqua, but I'm not sure if it's a draw of that scene or not.
Oh well, anyway, art!

Oh…That’s a wonderful piece of lore but now that’s going to be a doozy to fit into the main story (mostly figuring out how long each Abyssal were alive before they were killed by the Guild or Lateria). Also ignore the different avatar, I did encounter this convo before in my playthrough but didn't get the chance to get screenshots :')
And HC Abyssal timeline below
Venefelis (1,000-0): The real polecat (HC that she has phantom paws cause she has Pummel in her skill list :) and Operation Kill the Witch. Of course, after being forced to stay in the timeout corner for 1,000 years, she became really existential about her own existence, her creator's absence and trying to figure out why the Abyssals were made except being overpowered cannon-fodder.
Rotramus (700 [-300 yrs.]): Considering that the Guild would be at its infancy and still aware of Venefelis' impact, it makes some sense if they started hunting down Rotramus to prevent a repeat incident. Also consider he's a twisted mirror to Nara's personality (anti-human but will possibly answer any question to anyone that finds him) and might've been a rip-the-bandage creation due to Nara's infamy with her family's downfall.
Pluvean (500 [-200 yrs.]): Yet another pacifist Abyssal that was found by Palmaya and just waited for the Guild to kill him (but I like to believe he discovered Cadium at some point and was disgusted by the humans "corrupting the waters"). Even if he's the contrast to Arqua's short temper and drive for human adoration, Pluvean is also a bit snippy about stating the obvious and being revived past his expected lifespan.
Inominox (400 [-100 yrs.]): And just when the Guild develop a false sense of security with dealing with the Abyssals, Inominox comes in with the big guns and starting picking off any weak tamers he could find (possibly making the Frozen Tundra his main hunting ground). But with Ventra's pride and cockiness spelled his downfall when the Guild intervened during one of his attacks. But whether the victim was too traumatized to recall his trigger or the information was lost to time, the Guild was back to square one when the Abyssal was revived.
Helevolk (350 [-50 yrs.]): Of course, there's not a lot to say about Helevolk besides being a more unstable version of Fona despite having a surprising amount of mental/emotional strength (mainly with him breaking through the N1 Nightmare mind-wiping to an extent), but it's a bit of a mystery on how he got his name despite being just as mindless and violent as a normal Nexomon [Hele: "to hide" + volk: "army" or "person/people"]. And I assume Lateria killed the beast by redirecting his tunnels or cornering him in the tunnels.
Caelesa (310 [-40 yrs.]): But to make matters worse for the Guild, they have to deal with another pacifist, human-avoidant Abyssal that will surely make them doubt their anti-Tyrant campaign. Of course, there's no real explanation how she was taken out or how long she evaded the Guild (and/or Lateria), but she clearly had enough time to believe that humans were dumb and violent brutes that have nothing better to do in their lives besides hunt what threatens them (though mostly directed at Finn the second he explains the Guild’s history with her). And fun fact, despite Caelesa being Normal-type (like Metta), she has a interesting set of elemental moves under her belt (also like Metta) so do with that info as you will :) [Base moves: Rocknite Blast, Thunder Blast, Plasma Star, Psy Field]
Volcel (280 [-30 yrs.]): Then after that wild-goose chase comes the giant electric moth(?), also being human-avoidant but will also mock everything and everyone below him for being simple earth-dwellers (really embodying Luxa’s superiority complex, huh?). While there isn’t any concrete evidence on how he was caught (since the Guild jumped to making a standard Tyrant bait), I’ll assume it was Lateria and their extremely heavy ordinance.
Braccus (260 [-20 yrs.]): Here comes the boy~! :D And unlike the older Abyssals (and being the second-youngest), he’s the only one that specifically mentions hearing his creator’s voice and learning his mission to attract the world’s attention by any means necessary; which he easily turns to destruction and carnage (becoming the Grunda he was meant to be) until Xanders “Bare Hands” Nexomon killed the beast and earned his Gold Tamer promotion. Also his dex entry mentions him destroying multiple cities before reaching Lateria and/or Grunda’s Chasm, so I’m betting he started his rampage at Royalle City since a “unnamed Tyrant” was the reason for its downfall.
Kroma (250 [-10 yrs.]): And finally, Operation Kill the Witch: Electric Boogaloo. And what better way to complete her life's mission is to plop her right into the Immortal Citadel while having the handy-dandy ability to mind-control ghosts. Whether she can control both human and Nexomon ghosts is up to debate, but I'm all for her being a tiny menace using the IC residents, the Greater Drake Krainnull, and Ulzar himself when the going got tough with Deena the one-woman army.
Either way, I mainly followed the Abyssals locations on Precursor Mountain from furthest left to right (apart from Venefelis being past Kroma's position), though it's extra funny that both Braccus and Kroma's places are almost melded together (with the haunted woods being halfway through the Braccus’ maze) so that's kind of where the idea came from. Either way, how in the world was I supposed to expect that these two were the YOUNGEST!?!?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And I love that this were the first thing I thought of (if anyone’s willing to make an artist’s representation of the disaster siblings, I’m all for it :)

nexomon character: Atlas!
Atlas! I promise this won't be nearly as long as my Deena one, spoiled just in case
(Welp, this might be an unpopular one)
So. Atlas is our 4th wall breaking protagonist in n1, and we all love him right?
He's definitely a lot more... I wouldn't say judgmental but judgemental than Coco is. While Coco also judges you sometimes (such as telling you to not spin pft), Atlas is worse in that regard
Cuz with Coco, you can tell he does care, with Atlas, you think he does, the game is never really clear on it
Especially with the jokes about Arqua eating you instead, and all the little "it's almost like someone thinks you're bad at this", which, I get is the game layer of telling a joke
But similar to Coco, as you mentioned, he does stick around, except here it's kinda unclear until way later if he does or doesn't do it for you, if it makes sense?
He first comes cuz he owes you for saving him, then he does to be in a race with Ellie and why not, then he's with you to save Ellie.
And I'm saying this as someone who loves Atlas, to clear. And I do truly think he does care but he could stand to show it more
He is a little bit better at the tower, iirc, I never focused on HIS dialogue for that place I had a bluer problem
But from what I recall there he is at least nicer, now that Ellie is a-ok
I do think the protag knows he cares too, but it's a bit blurry at a specific point, but it does clear up
Not that I think it's intentional from his side. He just likes being the Best Sidekick ™, and then wants to hurry and save Ellie and is a bit snarky, and it's obvious you don't necessarily feel offended by it too
I guess the difference between Coco and Atlas (and why Coco is the better sidekick sorry 'bot), is that Coco does seem to care more, sticks around, stuff like that. Atlas does care the same, but is more showing it through snark

And speaking of the Mandrass Incident, there is no end to the levels of comedy Nexomon Extinction fans don't know if they've only played the newest game for now. (The only playthrough I can find is w. commentary though, but it's still funny to see the reactions.)
Besides that, the Mandrass Incident goes as followed (with relevant context and spoilers below):
The Nexomon 1 protag defeats Omnicron and his kids in the main game, but post-game story makes our plucky hero travel to the literal afterlife (ie. the Netherworld) to destroy Omnicron's soul and ensure he never returns for vengeance in another doomsday plot. However, the door to Omnicron is guarded by Ziegler's Wardens; confidants of the Netherworld King that will do everything and more to stop anyone that threatens their job of keeping the dead safe and secure in their realm, since the Wardens' lives are tied to their prisoners while said prisoners live in a Inception-like dreamscape that keeps them unaware of their previous demise (and yes, the game references Inception too). Also Ulzar is there cause finishing overdue ghost business (and previously building each Nightmare prison), Deena out of obligation of being the guard between the border of Life and Death, and your usual partner-in-crime Atlas.
Because of this roadblock, Protag is forced to deal with the Omnicron fam all over again and send their souls to the Vortex (possibly the portal/birthplace/permadeath of all Nexomon) in order to get rid of the Warden they're attached to. Even the linked episode (at 8:47) mentions Ulzar previously making a prison for Nara before he realized she's on the side of humans (ouch), the one time Metta/Nexolord is mentioned by name; and how yes, he went MIA after Ulzar's previous fight against Omnicron and even his temporary Nightmare is still empty in the current age...so the N3 Metta theory is still valid >:).
At this point, the gang went through the gauntlet with Arqua (the "weakest") -> Fona (too angy to forget why he's angy at everyone that wronged him) -> Grunda (now Ulrich w. his jacked village chief vibe) -> Zetta (trigger-happy goober that treats humans (aka. Spencer) like a dog) and getting into Ventra's Nightmare for the second-to-last Nightmare (and Atlas is not at all thrilled about facing the bird-woman again).
But their path is blocked by a noticeably large Mandrass, a talking one at that, that refuses to move unless they find his 4 friends that were swept about the place from Nadine/Ventra's powerful winds. After a somewhat lengthy search through the area, they finally procure the missing Mandrasses and bring them back to the main 'mon. The Mandrass is overjoyed and grateful, and then the group (and player) realize far too late why it seems larger than the other four they've met...
He eats them. He eats the other Mandrasses...And absolutely everyone is shocked at the spectacle, stunning Ulzar so bad he legit forgets they were supposed to fight Nadine's Warden and obviously driving Deena to tears. But they still have a job to do, and they push through the troubling memory regardless...
Now after all of their loose ends with Omnicron's Children are dealt with, the Protag opens the massive door holding the King of Beasts inside...and finds nothing. Yet the confusion fades for now as a wall is broken away to find a trio of familiar faces; Atlas, Deena, and Ulzar... Wait a minute-
After a bit of back and forth (before Ziegler appears to rain on the parade), its revealed that the entire story of the Netherworld (minus the Omnicron kids' Nightmares) was a Nightmare all along; keeping the Protag oblivious of the mortal sin of travelling to the Netherworld without actually dying, failing the task of destroying Omnicron and letting him escape to the real world, and getting trapped in his stead with Ziegler himself being the Warden in charge as he crafted a world of dreamlike sights and fabricated allies to aid them in their journey...-Oh yeah, and all that happened two weeks before the story even began, so the real team were scrambling to find Protag while battling Omnicron by tooth and nail.
Yet the Protag perseveres despite it all, fighting off the fake Deena that's been with them since the beginning, the king of Death and the revived Wardens, and finally Omnicron himself as his soul is snuffed out for good...Yet all good things come with a cost, and with the Beast King's death comes the death of his monstrous subjects, starting a slow and painful extinction of all Nexomon that were bound to his command. Minus Nara for being the embodiment of Nature and Life, Metta out of spite, and the rest of his kids in undead limbo cause of mystical Netherworld magic, it's not a great time for everyone involved here.
Now after all of that, as the Protag is forced to process this monumental burden that's placed on their shoulders, they eventually go to talk to the real Deena/Nara for advice and emotional support. At some point, Protag would've mentioned the Mandrass Incident since 1. It's the first time they met another Nexomon that had human-like intelligence besides Omnicron's kids, 2. Questions how/why Ventra's Nightmare was built around a dog-eat-dog world unlike everything Nexomon was before, and 3. Most likely a "you'll never believe what I went through" story to laugh about in the future and mention how surprisingly accurate the fake/Nightmare Deena reacted.
And despite it all, even if the real Deena only got a second-hand account of the event, was just as horrified about the story as well. And after all of that, after a literal millennia until Nexomon Extinction takes place, she's still salty about the whole thing. Whether it's from the Protag not realizing anything is wrong about the world until the final stretch (which was the whole point of a Nightmare) or being dumb/complacent in leading those poor Mandrasses to their death (even if they were already in the afterlife?), she still held onto that horror/betrayal of her new human friend the entire time. Even after she started her own plot of getting her kid to become Omnicron's heir through extreme mental gymnastics and a whole lot of dumb luck...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And that's what I love about the series so far. If you know the joke they were winding up in a previous game, you'll understand the punchline in another.

Okay, guys, you want me to go on about the most pointless things?
Let's go on about Byeol (and a bit about Fane, I suppose), because I am going insane
Alright everyone, for those unaware, this is Byeol:
Tumblr media
This is a tyrant in Nexomon: Extinction, his name is Byeol. The problem about this, however.
He isn't a story tyrant, and this... Makes me very interested in him.
Amelie calls Tyrants super powerful Nexomon, but here's the thing. According to Coco, Jin blocked off the entrance to Fenrir's tomb so that no more Tyrants may be hatched
Lydia also says to go bother Nadine because of the egg, and keep in mind, the grass Tyrant is Tikala. A warden. Probably because Deena didn't necessarily want to add fuel to the fire
So then we are already established that Tyrants are probably always hatched.
... So then what of Fane and especially Byeol?
(And there's no Psychic Tyrants because... Solus would be too lil to bonk an egg, and nobody would ask a random kid to do so.)
Well, let's go with the easier one, in which I ask yet again, what's up with the Ghost type? I've wanted to throw hands about it for a long time.
(Ulzar says that the reason Nexomon are, well, a thing is because of the Children of Omnicron. So it makes sense, right? 7 children, 7 elements)
Psychic is a bit trickier because of the fact Mystogen exists. And if we're going of the fact Solus made the psychic type...
Putting a pin in that, rant for another day.
So... What of Ghost?
Well. That's not the point of the post and that's my motivation for writing Doubts.
But! Moving on, Fane. Well, with the assumption they come from eggs, well frick. There's no ghost primordial.
... Which is why I can't speak much of it. We can surely just blame Hilda
... Do you know who we have more of?
Byeol.
Well. Let's see then.
Byeol is a normal type in Palmaya, first and foremost.... We are back to James everyone, anyone who's talked to me isn't surprised
Hi new people, James is how we call the Nexolord on this side of the fandom, moving on.
Assuming that James isn't dead and we take into account this from Nadine:
Tumblr media
Well, who am I to argue with Nadine? (Granted, she could mean Grunda or Deena , but.)
.. So, in today's rant. Byeol and Metta, woooo.
First of all, he is in Palmaya(and later around the Orphanage as of the Abyssals but we can put a pin in that because, Abyssals) , which, is definitely not the frozen tundra
But, Merida is in the frozen Tundra, and Atlanta's Tyrant is frosty enough to argue Merida bonked the egg there.
.. So then, Palmaya's free, ey?
Well. That's interesting, further on, I am going to need to grab Metta for a moment
Tumblr media
Hello bowling ball, I still think you should be an Armodillo.
Moving on, see this man? Until his siblings he is, unfortunately, not an animal
My only logic conclusion, looking at this man(if we don't take my other James theory into account), is that he's supposed to be a kind of biblically accurate angel, just, ribbons not wings (Thanks for the association Azzie, your hands are red too)
... HMMMM who ELSE has wings and is a normal type...
... WELL THEN.
Additionally, I must point out, Metta has 7 ribbons. If we count the bottom pointy Byeol has he has 8.
... Well, it just happens an additional type is added this time, to bump it from 7 to 8(we already went over why I think Ghost might not count)
.. So then.
And. Well, let's look at it this way. Nivalis and Arqua, they don't look the same. Fona and Mulcimer, er. The closest we have is Ventra and Eurus.
... And, well, Solus and Nara, but surely not
... Byeol could've been a kangaroo or something, but instead-
They're both inanimate object things I can't make sense of. I know Ross said that he was just inspired to make a star thing, but-
... Hm.
What am I trying to say? Nothing really. At the end of the day these are coincidences, likely
Like, n3 protag and James both have a blue hair strand, but that doesn't mean they're like, immediately necessary related kind of thing
... Just makes you think.
(Also, this stated when I made a joking like toddler Byeol human version, and I saw the white hair and went like "...wait")

Wardens and Design Similarities
So I've been thinking about the wardens.
(nexomon spoilers, also vague n2 spoilers)
Has anyone noticed that most of the wardens bear similarities to their prisoners? They're all the same type, to begin with, but there's appearance similarities too.
Ogoon and Fona, four-legged with a point on the back of the head and a tail of fire. Darine and Arqua, blue, crescent-shaped with a pointy head, two wings, and a tail. Hexia and Ventra, teal, bipedal with two legs two arms and two wings (in the same places). It can't be a coincidence that they all have the same body shape within their pair.
Titan has the same general body shape as Grunda apart from the fact that Titan is floating. And the patterns of yellow and brown are similar – the yellow stone on Titan's middle resembles Grunda's yellow belly.
Krowr's only similarity to Luxa is the yellow around the eyes. Why so different? And Tikala doesn't seem to bear likeness to anyone.
Ziegler himself could be read as having similarities to Omnicron or even Metta… but could just as easily be read as having similarities to Luhava. And by that I mean if I had to pick a Legendary Nexomon that Ziegler was most similar to in shape I'd pick Luhava. (I was about to say 'ghost does beat wind' but Ziegler's not even ghost-type in n2.)
Tumblr media
Nexomon does like its appearance similarities. In n2, for example, Solus is very similar to Nara (n2 Nara especially), and Omnisun was clearly made to resemble Omnicron. Different colours, same shape.
So it's the outliers (hi Krowr) that confuse me.
The appearance similarities made me wonder if the wardens also had behaviour similar to their prisoners.
Nadine is specifically stated to be cruel and shown to respond to problems with violence, and her warden Hexia drains her energy when she gets to be the slightest problem. Darine is psychic-type in n2 and iirc is better at maintaining the nightmare than most of the others in n1, and her prisoner Merida is good at putting on a façade.
Titan I think shows some similarities to Grunda, but you have to look to n2 to see any of the traits in Grunda. Wanting the place he's built to run smoothly and possibly a fondness for children? "I can't let anyone disturb the peace in this Nightmare, not even children."
Not sure on Ogoon. He might share Fenrir's liking of testing others' strength.
And then there's Krowr, who... I don't really get? I copied down all of the wardens' lines for... Reasons... and Krowr barely has any and none of them tell me much.
(And if we assume Tikala was Nara's warden somehow, then we can point out that he got attached to humanity just like she did.)
I have several theories about what all this means. Maybe the Wardens were created as sort of mirrors of their prisoners (doesn't really explain Krowr but this is my pet theory), or perhaps they just find it easier to present a form similar to what they know (though that would assume the personality thing is just a coincidence).
In conclusion this is absolutely not a coincidence thank you for reading and please contact me if you can explain Krowr.

Throwing myself back into the Nexomon brainrot since there's already a bunch of tidbits (and personal headcanons) to Metta's quirks and general attitude to anyone/everyone he interacts with and no one's taking the time or thought into mentioning them. And you know…To see if anything changes on his part in Nexomon 3, and I will keep pushing this agenda until the game finally comes out :)
To list a few interesting things mentioned in N1 (and definitely a long post ahead):
First the canon bits out of the way:
-Metta (and Nara) are over a million years old after Omnicron's initial invasion of the human world and after Ulzar killed the other CoO and Doggo Dad, with those two being the last living members of the family up until Nara’s (temporary) death in Extinction. Metta specifically mentions "waiting a million years" for his resurrection plan to finally come into fruition just before MC fights Omnicron in the main story, but it's mostly a 'blink and you miss it' nugget of information (same goes for Ulzar revealing Nexolord's/Metta's name in the Netherworld DLC one time).
-Metta lived in the Frozen Tundra for an undetermined amount of time, possibly when Juliet and Glacia were in their early childhood; with Juliet slowly but adamantly believing that he's a vampire (will explain later) and still reads cheesy YA vampire novels into adulthood, while Glacia admires him for his cold-hearted nature and extreme lack of empathy to other humans.
-It's not exactly specified when Micromon takes place in N1 (or when Project Pixekai goes bust), but Metta possibly gained Malk as a tutor/evil accomplice sometime during said-early childhood and after Malk left Pixekai a broken smoldering mess behind him; refurnishing a bunker in FT into a secret lab/research facility to study the properties of Nexomon and possibly laying the groundworks to the resurrection plan (and Metta becoming an master technician as well).
-Some time after Glacia gets appointed as Overseer, she's the only one who was made aware that the Champions (ie. the Omnicron fam) are not human, and even says aloud about these super-powered monsters bickering like children over who gets to fight the MC and stop them reaching Omnicron's Tower. Glacia later throws herself into the Netherworld and corrals the Wardens to her side in a attempt to "save" Metta from the clutches of death, release Omnicron in his stead, and make him become the real NexoLord instead of MC...To be clear, Metta wasn’t dead, and he was still alive two weeks before the Netherworld story and no one figured it out!
-Metta might of had another name before defeating Nexolord Remus and gaining the title as his namesake (or just opted to call himself Nexolord until he got the clout to go with it), which is somewhat fair since he finally got the experience of being an only child for the time being.
-While Metta was also shown to have sacrificed himself to finally revive Omnicron, the Netherworld DLC only shows the element-based siblings (Fona, Arqua, Ventra, Luxa, Grunda) stuck in Nightmares with their own Wardens and MC getting stuck with Ziegler after the really weird implication that MC released Omnicron on accident in that two week time span (even if it’s never shown or explained). Not to mention a “joke” headstone later found in Extinction that makes you double-guess if he even died in the first place…
-And while it's not explicitly mentioned, but Metta might've put together the Overseers to reflect his terrible opinions of his siblings, the same goes for him riding the high of being a leader and roping said-siblings into pretending to be humans until everything comes together. As for the Overseers: Ivan and Ira could relate to Fenrir/Fona, Remus with Nadine/Ventra, Hendrick with Merida/Arqua, Spencer with Zetta/Luxa, Khan with Deena/Nara, and Jack with Ulrich/Grunda. To me, Hilda would've been scouted to become an Overseer due to her psychic abilities, but quickly defected to save humanity in her own way (ie. turning them into spirits/ghosts). Glacia would definitely be considered Metta's (most true and loyal) Overseer cause of said cold-heartedness but also being one of the few humans besides Malk who understand his true motives and wholeheartedly accepts his plan on reviving Omnicron.
And now for the headcanons! >:D -Metta would've had an incredibly hard time adjusting to, or even stooping down to, creating a disguise for himself despite his hatred for humanity; same would possibly go with him learning to write and/or read for himself instead of staying in hiding for all eternity. Also in contrast to the rest of the Omnicron fam using their powers or a surplus of energy to create a human form, Metta is just a walking human-shaped balloon and his head is the only solid part of his body (even his eyes are the same color as his main Nexomon body. Glass/prism eyes perhaps?). It might also solidify Juliet's vampire theory if he didn't take the time or effort to fake natural body heat, or having absolutely nothing to do with physical contact ever despite living in the tundra; and maybe his unnatural features were made to make himself as intimidating as possible (in complete contrast to his cringe ass bowling-ball self).
-Metta's ahoge (the blue streak of hair) might work like a pull-tab to "unravel" his disguise and reveal his Nexomon form underneath (almost like a candy wrapper). It could've spread as a rumor between the grunts (or by Zetta to tease him), but zero people would even have the balls to do it in the first place for obvious reasons.
-While Metta would despise every human who ever breathes in his general direction, he might have a reasonable amount of respect to scientists/inventors (possibly from Malk and the Pixekai Project) and any tamers with exceptional skill and strength (Remus, Hilda, Khan, and Glacia), even if it's only to use them for ulterior motives. Definitely betting that he even trusted Glacia enough to go on multiple rants about his siblings; either about how much he hates them, their naivety of the human race, or how these uber-powerful descendants of Omnicron got killed by a single human in the first place (ie. Ulzar). And yes, given how smarmy and egotistical Glacia acts around others, it's canon in my heart.
-Metta might also enjoy food and literature but doesn't have the dignity to admit it due to said-hatred for humans. Might also be the reason why he put Hendrick in as a secret Overseer in Palmaya, both for his persuasion/mind games in recruiting more goons and his killer skills in cooking; discretely trying to recreate his recipes by the letter (or holding onto a recipe book or two) for self-validation in making something on his own.
-Speaking of the power of creation, Metta possibly made the Abyssal Tyrants as a side project along his initial Omnicron revival plan. I mean, he spent a million+ years to bring his dad back to life, but it's important to know in Extinction that the Abyssals appeared right after Omnicron's super-death. So who's to say that Metta also created his own line of Nexomon that follow his every command (or to scratch that itch of being King of Monsters himself)? From causing general mayhem (Braccus & Helevolk), picking off the weaker tamers hunting them (Inominox), willingly become cannon fodder (Pluvean), become scouts (Volcel & Caelesa) avoid human contact entirely (Rotramus), or make sure to kill two extremely specific psychics (Venefelis & Kroma); they follow the general scheme being as elusive and as unpredictable as possible just like their (possible) creator.
-And yes, I wholeheartedly believe that Metta created Byeol (possibly around the same time as Caelesa), either on complete accident or to hop on the Tyrant bandwagon in Nexomon Extinction. Whether it reflects his desires to always stay on top ("the star of the show") or the visual representation of jealousy over his new niece/nephew Solus taking Omnicron's throne instead of himself, who knows? Also personally believe that Byeol, ironically enough, wants to become human, possibly watching tamers from afar or putting themselves into battles as a form of "playing" to try and learn their behavior and skills. And I know I made another rant about it, but I’m pretty sure Byeol also has the ability to enter or manipulate dreams (either to look into a person’s mind or just mess with them for fun). Why else would a Normal-type Tyrant have a good chunk of Psychic-type moves at its disposal as well? Just some food for thought here…
Anywho, now that that’s out of the way, I hope you enjoyed this laundry list of fun! :D
