kinda want a fic where newt opens up to thomas post canon about his jealousy. wishing he was the one thomas could telepathically communicate with. hoping thomas would have eyes for him when newt’s always kept his focus on the other boy. but he feels like he’s the one following thomas’ footsteps, knowing that he might never catch up to thomas’ side like others have been able to effortlessly do.

he mentions how it drove his bitterness towards teresa, towards aris, towards anyone who thomas had somewhat of a connection with - because he wished it could be him in that spotlight. newt knew it was wrong, and that these people did nothing wrong, but the pain in his heart was too unbearable to ignore.

he needed the cure - he needed thomas.

I have seen a few people do this and I thought why not :) keep in mind these are my opinions and I don’t care who you ship (as long as it’s not like a pro ship or something yucky) the whole point of a fandom is to have fun!! :> any ship names i dont know ill just say “character x character”

Newtmas: take one look at my page and yk how I feel about this one 😭 idk I just love it so much ESPECIALLY IN THE FIRST BOOK OH MY GOD. Book one newtmas my beloved ☹️🫶 I just love them so so much 😔 bi Thomas is canon in my heart

Minewt: I prefer them platonically but I see it!! I really like this one, I don’t read fics of it often buts it’s super enjoyable and I understand the hype 100% like childhood best friends who were separated then when they finally find each other again an hour later the other dies?! Tragic. ☹️

Thominho: I kinda like this one, it’s tolerable I don’t mind it and I’ll read funny inncorrect quotes about them but that’s about it, i kind of get this one but it’s not my favourite :( still like it though :D

Thomas x gally: uhhh.. depends on if it’s movies or books honestly- movies I get it!! Enemy’s to lovers is one of my favourite tropes after all but books? Nah sorry I just can’t 😭

Brenda x Teresa: in canon NO. In fanon? (Like fics and whatnot) YES. GIVE ME MY LESBIANS GODDAMNIT I WILL COMMIT CRIMES.

Thomas x Brenda: second favourite ship, I love them so so much they are so near and dear to me oh my fuck 😔 THE BOOKS HAD ME GIGGLING THE WHOLE TIME I WISH THEY WERE ENDGAME IN THE MOVIES. WHY.

Thomas x Teresa: …. In the movies I get why people like it, but in the books? It just kinda grosses me out because Thomas saw Teresa as a sister before the swipe, then Teresa implied they could’ve been lovers and it was a whole thing and it’s just.. why? It’s kind of forced in my opinion (don’t get me wrong I’m not saying Thomas DIDNT love her. He did I’m not saying that at all. He did love her but still!!!)

Frypan x Brenda: OH MY FUCKING GOD I LOVE THIS SO OSOSOSOSOSOSO MUCH. In the movies I prefer them over Thomas x Brenda through and through!!

Brenda x gally: I see them as chaotic besties ngl but the scene with the bus and they were talking about the immunes like they were THEIR kids and the “I like her.” Scene 🫡 I like this ship literally only because of those scenes

Thomesa (Thomas x Teresa): 147284892/10 i will fight you on this. they were literally so precious and tragic. it was like the universe had decided their destiny, but at the end of the day thomas never stopped loving her and neither did she stop loving him. she betrayed everyone for the greater good but redeemed herself to save HIM. i know she made some extremely questionable choices but goddamn theyre always slept upon. thomesa my beloved, they hated you but i never will 😭💔

Newtmas (Newt x Thomas): 3/10 (i can feel the hate radiating towards me) listen. im completely fine with people going batshit crazy over them. but personally? no. seriously, i never understood the overhype and appeal for newtmas. i can completely understand if newt was in love with thomas all this time, but the idea of them being together? nah. i just never saw any sort of romantic tension between them. like, im not being a full-on hater, but i saw them like platonic soulmates. their friendship is literally to die for (ahem ahem newt ahem 💀) and i wish I had a loyal friend like newt. but romantically? nah.

Trenda (Thomas x Brenda): 5/10 tbh they were pretty mid. i mean i can totally see them ending up together post the death cure, but their chemistry felt too forced at times. their friendship dynamic tho? TOP. TIER.

Thominho (Thomas x Minho): 10/10 the close friendship. the trust they have in each other. the things theyve lived thru together. the lengths thomas went to save minho. if thomas was bisexual hed definitely go for minho. CHEFS KISS AAAA

Nalby (Newt x Alby): 7/10 now this is a newt ship that had sm wasted potential. the fact that alby was the first person ever who newt befriended and trusted. the fact that alby was always stern to everyone BUT newt. the fact that they had one of the strongest mutual trust in the glade. the fact that newt was distraught and ready to throw hands with the grievers after they killed alby in the books. they just didn't have enough time. their dynamic i can't 😭

Newtenda (Newt x Brenda): 8/10 NOW LOOK I KNOW NEWT IS GAY AND I RESPECT THAT but i never knew that while watching the movies and reading the books. like seriously, i thought he was straight for the longest time, and the idea of newt ending up with brenda is weirdly wholesome to me. they share similar experiences of going thru hell while being infected and idk i just enjoy this ship very much. if newt wasn't gay, he shouldve definitely ended up with brenda lmao

Brenally (Brenda x Gally): 6/10 same case as newtenda, but they needed more development. otherwise post tdc theyd be so cute :3

Minally (Minho x Gally): 4/10 nah. just, nope. i can see strong friendship and respect for each other throughout tmr and post tdc, but as a ship... pretty bland so nope.

Minewt (Minho x Newt): 8/10 oh yep. absolutely. theyve known each other maybe not as long as nalby, but the things they went thru in tst and tdc... and the efforts newt was ready to make to save minho- like my boi was freaking infected but he chose to focus on saving minho over himself 😭 and minhos reaction on seeing newts dead body just 💔 if this ain't peak idk what is...

Sonyaris (Sonya x Aris): 9/10 best friends? check. immediate relief on finding the other was alive? check. her taking care of him when he got injured? check. him standing up for her? check. both survived the horrific events thrown upon at them? check. what's there not to like?? they just needed more screentime together lol

Thomally (Thomas x Gally): 2/10 nope. too much toxicity, if im being honest. i mean, they did end up working together and becoming somewhat friends at the end, but idts thomas would ever be able to forgive gally for killing chuck. chuck was basically thomas' baby brother. im sure thomas, despite having gotten over chuckie's death, still finds it extremely unfair how gally got saved but chuck didn't.

Java/Avanson (Janson x Ava): 147284892/10 OMFG YESSIRRRRR I JUST LOVE AND ADORE THIS SHIP LIKE WDYM THIS ISN'T CANON HUH LIKE THEY WOULD TOTALLY TRY TO STAB EACH OTHER AND THEN MAKE OUT WOOHOOO (ive gone insane.)

After not writing a lot over the summer (other than for my German gays) I finally sat down and finished some wips I've been sitting on for way too long so if you miss Newtmas as much as I do, here are new fics for you to read: loss of my life [general audiences] Thomas made it to Safe Haven, Newt didn't. Yeah, it's as sad as it sounds.

This Place Is Ours [general ausiences] Thomas never knew true friendship before Newt. Most of his days he spent lost in his head, quiet and alone, while the world around him just felt too loud and too fast. But then Newt came along like some kind of whirlwind—blond hair always messy, and a smile that shook Thomas' world in the best way possible. (because Newtmas and Bridge to Terabithia aren't gut-wrenching enough on their own, I had to combine them. Thanks to @kestis-advent and @fandoms-princess for bringing it up in the Glade)

And since we're already talking about sad, I finally finished that second chapter of one of my all-time favourites: THE LONELIEST [explicit] Sometimes when someone dies, their soul may latch onto a beloved object from their life, becoming inseparably linked to it. Just as a human's existence is defined by their heartbeat, the spirit's existence becomes tied to this object. or: you know how sometimes you masturbate about your dead best friend and accidentally summon his ghost? (i read this prompt under a steddie fic and thought this might be fun for newtmas too... spoiler, this wasn't fun, this was sad)

I am also months too late but I can finally contribute to @mazerunner-rarepairs with my first Teresa/Thomas/Newt fic: Every Night Has Its Dawn [explicit] And Thomas—Tommy—was blue, a steady and reliable force, like the endless sky above or the rhythmic consistency of waves breaking on the shore. Newt had always been yellow, consumed by cowardice and jealousy. But together, they were green. Green like life, like hope, like the memories they clung to in a world so full of loss. As for what Teresa brought into the mix? Newt couldn’t quite tell yet. (This was quite challenging to me as Newtmas has my whole heart and I never really could imagine Teresa ending up with Thomas as long as Newt is around but I really wanted to explore their dynamic and I actually like how this turned out?)

Then I also finished I Kissed A Girl (And I Liked It) which I originally started for @themazewomen over a year ago, dedicated to Sonyarrriet, and uploaded my first ever Minally fic When You Call (I Answer)

Last but not least, I updated another all-time favourite: A Newt Hope [explicit] Thomas is a Rebel captured by the Empire and Newt Skywalker and Min Solo come for his rescue while not bothering to answer any of Thomas questions. I'd love to read from you in my comments and hear all your thoughts 💛 until then I will go and try to finish more wips before @mazerunnersecretsanta season starts, taking me over completely.
