okay so we all know that it says a lot about someone if “sante fe” reminds them of rent or newsies and if “i believe” reminds them of book of mormon or spring awakening, but it is equally telling if seeing a red jacket reminds you of enjolras or heather chandler

What do you think each of the newsies collect?

(For example, idk if this is a collection but Crutchie grows herbs. He has heaps and he tries to grow as many different types as possible)

ahhh yes ok wait-

i collect a lot of things so ✨ive thought this through✨

- race collects bottle caps and like,,,, soda can tabs. OH and buttons. he also technically collects plants but that’s more of a weird hobby than a collection

- albert collects movie tickets (and hats, but that’s only like 5 or 6, he has the ticket to every movie he’s seen since like 6th grade)

- katherine collects polaroids and photo booth pictures

- davey collects pins. small cheap safety pin looking ones and fancy enamel ones, just p i n s

- les collects those lil plushy things you can hang from backpacks

- jack collects post cards and stamps. OH and fancy coins. and idk if it counts but he’s saved every birthday card he’s gotten since like,,,, elementary school.

- crutchie technically collects herbs, but like race that more of a hobby. his ACTUAL collection is like,,,, washi tape?? yk those lil decorative rolls of tape, he has like 30+ of those things

- sarah collects stickers. the fancy ones you put on laptops and water bottles and instruments.

- spot collects like,,,, ok hear me out. he collects bracelet/wristband things. most of them are like,,,, braided leather or cuff things but he also saves all those colorful rubber ones charities and stuff hand out

- romeo collects (surprise surprise) fun socks. literally has a pair of crazy socks for every day of the month

- specs collects stress balls. the memory foam ones with 1000 different faces and patterns and stuff

- i’ve said this before (thank you anon) but jojo collects watches

uhhhh,,,,, thats all i can think of rn cause i’m doing this from memory and i’ve ran out of braincells

a denim jacket!!! i have this big one with MTV on the back and an ever growing number of enamel pins and buttons (haha its her) on the front. im actually about to get a bunch of pins for it and hopefully put a few of my patches on. this is probably my fave item of clothing i own!!!

The line 'even if we ain't got hats or badges, we're a union just by saying so' always makes me laugh, because they're literally all wearing hats (albeit not union hats). So this pin is in homage to that line, calling out the newsies of Manhattan for being dorks by clearly showing Jack’s hat....
