hey Dee!!
SPOILER BELOW:
Loved part 2 and your writing so bad 🥹🥹❤️ (even tho it kinda wrecked me)
but however im kinda in dilemma with jk on one thing yk and if you could tell us your opinion too on this!
like I kinda get where he is coming from but man oh man he should have definitely told oc about the whole mingyu situation (cheating scandal).. Like would have saved a lot of things (BUT THEN AGAIN WE WOULDNT HAVE GOT THIS BOMB FIC). but on the fr he would have saved the whole thing and yk could have gotten with her idk it’s just me probably…
your thoughts on this 👀
in part 2 he said he thought that mingyu has changed. its been 10 years since it happened, and you would expect a person to change their ways in such a long period of time 🥲 he was also trying to get a feel at mingyu in the early days of his and ocs relationship, and as he has repeatedly said over n over again in his pov, he genuinely thought that oc was happy with him: meaning that mingyu might be treating her well and right if thats the case, leading him to believe that he really did change after all. so he didnt bother to tell oc bcs what change would it make when mingyu is making her happy in the current time? it would also burst her bubble, and jk would never want to hurt her in any way or form.
it's def not the brightest decision tho, as it blew up on his face. he acknowledged that in pt 2 as well.
#personally i think jk was being way too nice 💀#if somebody did me wronf in the past trust that it will be televised on national news#but yeh#hes better than me#and again#he was just thinking about oc's sake ):#baby thought it was for the good he didnt say anything sooner ):#fic: tlp

Attention, there will be a VERY personal crossover with a ten years old game.
What is the original Knock-Knock? We play as a scientist living in a house in the middle of a dying forest, who suffers from insomnia due to his loneliness and gradually goes crazy. He has nightmares that monsters from the forest have entered his house. In the end, the Lodger either locks himself in the house or leaves it, going into the forest.
"Wow. This is the certified Lamed moment," I thought, and this thought completely took over my attention!
Maybe I just liked the concept of "Lamed fighting off monsters in the Vault." But I just couldn't stop the flow of sketches. The Longer's replicas are perfect for Lamed. And the idea itself, too. Let's take it in order.
We have Elder Lamed trapped in limbo. It's been 1300 years since the Shattering, and she spends all this time cut off from the rest of the Vault's inhabitants. Even if her mind is as strong as steel, it begins to fall apart due to prolonged loneliness. Lamed begins to slowly but surely go crazy. In fact, anyone else in her place would long ago. But Lamed holds on because she is a rationalist who evaluates everything from the point of logic. She is completely coming to terms with the idea that there is nothing in this world that she can not explain.
Lamed suffers from insomnia because she constantly has nightmares. To distract herself, after another awakening, she goes through the archives of the Vault to make sure that everything is in place, and most importantly, that the front door is locked.
She has the same dream every night. It was as if darkness had penetrated the archives. In fact, the protective systems of Vault of Knowledge, although old, perform their task. But in Lamed's nightmares, all the walls have fallen, and the shadows are already inside, roaming the halls. Lamed is constantly on the border between two worlds, and he can not decide which is a nightmare and which is reality.
Monsters are called guests here. There are two types of them in the game itself: seeking and hiding.
Guests come only from dark rooms, and when they get into a light room, they break the light there. Sounds like a job for the familiars of darkness. In fact, they are not the size of a Lamed, but much smaller, but everything that happens in the second Vault is a bad dream, so things look a little different. Lamed is afraid of shadows. That's why she imagines them as her equals. The seeking guests move through the Vault behind the Lamed lamp light.
The hiding guests are different. Unlike the familiars, they're not here to give old Lamed creeps. They are here just like that, that's why they don't move from place to place, but wait patiently. Perhaps they are more afraid of Lamed than she is of them. I thought about who to take on this role for a long time and still decided not to invent new shadows but to take tlp spirits. In principle, everything works pretty well, given that they are a distorted reflection of the Lamed's long-lost family, and the second Vault is a nightmare filled with all her fears.
Everything that happens in the second Vault is a nightmare. Therefore, the guests can't really harm Lamed. Instead, they throw her back in time, prolonging the night. The goal of the whole adventure is to live until dawn so that the light will drive away Lamed's nightmares. Moreover, this is the goal not only in a dream but also in reality. In a real Vault. It's only there that time really goes by.
The original Knock-knock has three endings. The first one is game over. Some people really consider it a separate ending, and I can't blame them, considering how easy it is to get it in the second half of the game. The bottom line is simple: Lamed is going crazy. So simple.
Ending two: Lamed becomes convinced of the danger of the outside world and decides to lock the entrance gate once and for all. Now, the darkness will not penetrate the archives, but Lamed herself is unlikely to ever be able to get out. And most likely later she will go crazy too, because she was already close to it in the beginning.
Ending three: Lamed gets tired of running away from her fears and hiding. She decides to do something that will forever change her life. She wants to see her guests. Lamed opens the main gate, leaving the Vault of Knowledge and going out into the Wasteland. Most likely, she will immediately meet Tsadi, who has been guarding the entrance all these years, as he did during his lifetime.
There is still a lot of content in the game itself that I have not described here. There is a second character, an invisible girl, who gives the Lodger fragments of reality and guides him throughout the game. There is a Buka. A monster that approaches the Lodger's house in reality and drives him crazy in the second half of the game. There is a lost Lodger's diary, which we collect as the game progresses, realizing that someone is actually wandering around the house. But I don't have the energy for that anymore. Let's talk about it next time, if at least someone appreciates this crossover. It's better to play Knock-knock yourself and feel its atmosphere.

Will we see tlp Donnie in his purple bandanna from the show? I know we have that one post Hamato but I could see that as his walking around the layer look and when he goes out the bandanna to match his sibling. ( convoluted rambling I apologize in advance) I could see some BS like Leo had a purple phase and has a spar bandanna laying around. They have to go into the hidden city for something and BM is frantically searching for Donnie so to not get recognized they dress Donnie up like them and guilt trip people into thinking there was four of them this hole time (Sorry for the ramble when I find new au I fixate on them)
Also before they met Donnie do they know there is another one of them like did splinter tell them and they’re just such idiots they couldn’t put it together. Or is splinter just going to walk in on them and the person that kidnapped and be like “ we need to talk” did splinter just assume Donnie was dead
Will Donnie not being there in they’re childhood affected the dynamic of the remaining three or will it be the same as the show?
Also last question i promise where is April.
Sorry again this was so long I love your au and can’t wait to see more!
omg dont apologize for this I absolutely adore rambles about my au!!!! other people sharing their thoughts and ideas makes me think about things that i normally wouldnt have thought about and also it makes me super happy that people are enjoying my story enough to be thinking about it
ok we will see tlp Donnie in a purple bandana at some point, but it won't be for a long time. The bandanas that Splinter gave his kids are you know like specifically for being ninjas, and are a sign of their growth and progress in their ninjitsu training. At this point in the story, Donnie isn't a ninja, and doesn't have any sort of training in fighting. Once he starts living with the Hamatos he will start doing some ninjitsu training and eventually Splinter will give him a purple bandana, but its not going to be something that he wears like everyday or all the time. Being a ninja isn't a core part of tlp Donnie's identity, so he will wear the bandana but only when he goes out on ninja missions or whatever with his siblings. I love that idea that they go into the hidden city and dress Donnie up like them since that would lead to so many goofy hijinks, but really I think that Donnie is mostly going to avoid going to the Hidden City for any reason, at least until he is has trained enough in ninjitsu to mostly go about unnoticed. I don't think he'd want to go to the Hidden City because 1. that's where his mom is and theres a chance she might try to steal him back, and 2. he grew up in the Hidden City and it isn't as cool and exciting as New York is. I think Donnie would much rather explore this new city that he's living in.
So Raph, Leo, and Mikey are partly not connecting the dots because they haven't seen Donnie's shell at all (since he's wearing a shirt and his shell is flat enough that even if there is a bump it isn't super noticeable) so they haven't even connected the dots that he is a turtle yet. But also this isn't something that Splinter has really talked about a whole lot. I'm going to actually explain how Splinter left Donnie behind in an upcoming scene (or at least hopefully I will be, unless something changes in my planning). Splinter in the show really hasn't explained to his kids how they were like created, and I think the same would apply to tlp Splinter. Escaping from Draxum AND losing one of his kids in the process would have been a really painful memory, and its not like his kids even remember the sibling that he left behind. I think his reasoning was why should I tell them about this sibling that is probably dead and like cause them to feel pain and loss over someone they don't even remember.
Donnie not being in the picture does change the dynamic a bit! I'm not super great at portraying it since I'm also mostly still figuring out how their dynamic is different. One thing I know for sure is that Raph and Splinter took on the responsibility of doing repairs around the lair. So Raph and Splinter are a lot closer mostly because they have spent a lot of time together just trying to figure out how to create a functioning home with electricity and plumbing and heating and stuff. And a lot of their troubles with that mostly come from the fact that they arent able to actually buy the supplies that they need to set up all of their utilities so they are mostly just trying their best with whatever trash they find. I think Leo would have ended up with most of the responsibility of looking after Mikey since Raph would have been busy helping Splinter with taking care of the lair and stuff, so Leo and Mikey are a lot closer to each other than they are with Raph. And I think now that Mikey is older and is starting to do things on his own Leo isn't quite sure what to do with himself since he's so used to just looking after Mikey, and he is trying to give Mikey space and stuff since he doesn't want to be overbearing and whatever but he does tend to hover. That's actually the same with Raph, once Donnie enters the picture, Donnie will just start taking on a lot of Raph's responsibilities because he finds them fun and so Raph will end up with a lot of free time on her hands to just try to figure out what she likes to do and stuff.
April hasn't been in the episodes that Ive been pulling plot stuff from so she hasn't shown up yet. She will eventually though. How old is April? like 16 I think? she's doing freaking SAT prep and getting ready to start applying for university and stuff she's just so busy all the time and also she's busy getting fired from every possible job she could get in New York that's why she hasn't been in the comic yet also I don't know how many days the comic spans over? Like not that much time has passed in the comic so it isn't that weird that April hasn't showed up. It is weird in the sense that I've been making the comic for a year but in the comic itself not much time has passed. She will show up! eventually!!!! I just don't really know how to like smoothly introduce her to Donnie, also like most of the plots involving Big Mama in the show dont really involve April so idk how to exactly get the two to meet. It'll happen though! definitely sometime this year askldfjh

Your characters are so shaped
Mine telling us who those main four are?
I assume this is about Light Plague so
boop!
Here's them coloured because it's been long since. Just a TLDR because I think I'm rewriting them again
Names from left to right, Mortimer Tacre/Dr Morter, Cobalt Roussel, Tastriphe/Plague Kiwi, and Tak the Oracle
Morter is one of the oldest members of the Scorchers. Now, "The Scorchers" is the unofficial name of the forced mercenaries in the bunker. The name came from the first generation Scorchers using flamethrowers. Anyway, Morter used to serve as a pure resource gatherer until he nearly dies fighting off one of the mutations and loses his head. He was revived by miracle but now he has to live with a mechanical head where whatever's left of his face and brain remains. Since he could not go to the surface because of his recovery, he then became a doctor for until he's well enough to go up again.
Cobalt is the newest addition to the team. Reason? His adoptive father, Crimson Roussel, have died with debt and one of the only ways he believes can get rid of it is to willingly be a Scorcher under 131. 131 is the name of the organization that protects the survivors of Palethos, and Palethos is the name of the bunker. Morter acts as Cobalt's mentor through this whole thing, he even was the person that manages his artificial eyes and mechanical arm prior to getting hired.
Plague Kiwi, also known by his name, Tastriphe Liet, goes along with Morter with being one of the earliest members of the Scorchers. He is the most competent fighter out there but nerfed for being a stubborn lone wolf that may or may not kill whoever he's teamed up with. Other than being a Scorcher, he is also a bounty hunter. There are other survivor societies in TLP but most of them do not get along with each other. Hunters are paid by the people inside the Tower of Corpses if they provide their targets. Targets are either criminals or people accused of being one, but frankly the people in that tower don't care, the hunters will catch them for their entertainment either way. Now that his jobs are mentioned, lemme also mention the fact he's a sentinel angel who have lost his divinity when he learns what it is to be human, to be as rightfully angry as one. His original name is just Tatriphe until he meets this orphaned little girl he took under his wing. He added her surname to his name. You can assume the worst because ofc he's going to lose this child and that moment is the point he does become human.
Tak the Oracle, I'll admit, I have NOT written them as much because originally it should be just the three but like
actually wait, I don't remember when I designed Tak- Man this bitch is a mystery even to the author 😭 ANYWAY No one in canon knows where Tak and their weird asf kid, Tikki, came from, they just showed up one day and let people be known that the parent have visions of the future. Some believe and some don't, but it is how it is with "weirdos". Somehow Tak invited themself and Tikki inside the establishment and managed to speak directly to Admiral Helicross about possible futures to look out for. The Admiral acts as if Tak has been officially added despite no one hearing news of it but no one dares question the Admiral's choices. Tak is a member of the gang, and frankly, the most useful out there. The mask is a facial prosthesis by the way, their face is severely burnt from an unknown accident. Tak is a Scorcher but unlike the other three, they are not assigned for upper division exploration as much.
#Yes Tak is getting another redesign#The Light Plague#Dr Morter#Cobalt Roussel#Plague Kiwi#Tak the Oracle#Jella Answers#I drew this

Imagine that Lamplighter and Narci never actually met before dying and getting put into the starlight desert. Obviously Lamplighter knew of the newest performer on the rise to stardom because he's seen their performances. Not many, though. They had a job to do since adolescence which was to get resources in the forest, and eventually winding up on lighthouse duty for the rest of his life. I hc that Lamplighter never really had much friends as a kid because they weren't that fun to play with. Maybe at one point they had friends and fun just like the little prince but grew up. I hc that Narci was super spoiled as a kid. I hc that their parents framed every milestone and achievement to an obnoxious degree, and Narci always had an attitude problem and tricked other kids all the time because he hated them for wanting to be better than him.
I hc that Lamplighter recognized Narci when they first left their lighthouse in Starlight desert to get a bearing of his new afterlife but Narci did not recognize him. Why would he? Lamplighter visited their stage only a handful of times during life among several other people. Lamplighter wouldn't admit it when he left but during those few times, it was the most fun he's ever let himself have, then it was back to work. Lamplighter never got an autograph because being noticed by people always made him feel an immense amount of dread, maybe even guilt that he wasn't at work and had proof on paper. This made Narci upset to hear about. All his fans deserved to get an autograph!
Imagine that all the tlp spirits found each other here in this new place and started discussing who they were, trying to make their now dull and boring afterlife more entertaining

As we come to the end of one year and the start of another, I thought it would be a great idea to look ahead at what fanfictions I've got planned. Whether they all debut in 2024, I do not know!
To start with:
Tangled: Between the Kisses is an ongoing collaborative project between myself and @tangledbea and we will continue to work on this project in 2024. My hope by year's end is that we have reached the end of writing Season 2. There are a lot of fantastic storylines coming up with our S2 gang of Rapunzel, Eugene, Varian, Lance, the Captain of Corona, and Queen Arianna!
The Lost Prince is my current WIP exploring the idea of Eugene being kidnapped by Mother Gothel and used for his Moon powers. Rapunzel grew up a Princess without the sundrop with her best friend, Cassandra, who just so happens to be Eugene's hidden twin sister! Shenanigans ensue when all three meet up and secrets and lies are discovered! This fic should be finished by the end of January 2024.
Twinned Destiny is a AU spin-off of The Lost Prince. More of this prosect will be revealed once TLP is finished.
Darkest Intentions is an S3 AU. After gaining the Mind Trap, Cassandra decides to attempt to ensnare Eugere under its control after her ghost friend suggested they could use him to get the Sundrop from Rapunzel. Little does Cassandra know that her "friend" has her own plans afoot. This fic will focus heavily on the friendship of Cassandra and Eugene. I am hoping to start posting this fic early 2024...
Our Undying Dream is a callobarative project between myself and the amazing @twotangledsisters All I will say is this fic is a twist on the modern idea of Tangled and we are both really excited to share this fic with everyone! Stay tuned... for it is coming soon ...
Uprising is part one of two part duology exploring the idea of what if Old Corona had risen up against the Royal family? It is primarily a fic about Eugene and Varian. If you enjoy Eugene hurt/angst there will be plenty of it in this duology! I am hoping I can start posting this sometime in mid 2024.
The Royal Wedding is a 5-chaptered fic centered around New Dream's engagement, planning of a wedding, and their wedding day. It is going to be romantic fluff! I hope to post in February 2024 but it does depend if I've ever written it or not!
Team Awesome Adventure (untitled) is a 3-chaptered comping trip fic centered around Eugene and Varian. I hope to post this fic in March 2024!
A Queen's Story is a multi-chaptered story dealing with Arianna's grief at losing her daughter and then reuniting with the child she never saw grow up. Late 2024.
I think that is it for now...
Happy New Year everyone! See you all in 2024!

The little prince project
Hello everyone, It's me Cheesecake- karaoke writing to you an important announcement.
Since the show is lost media I was thinking that maybe I should do a fan comic about it! yep a fan comic retelling the episodes of the show.
As you can see I'm already starting to redesign the characters in this blog. I hope that you find these news appealing and interesting.
But... what is all about ?
As I said, the TLP fan comic is a retelling of the show AND comics so It won't be the same as the original.
Some BIG changes are:
The role of The snake: He won't be the villain of the story he is more like the antagonist (These roles are not the same, one is evil and the other one it's not necessarily evil) The snake will be a character that thinks he is doing good but destroys everything around him (bad at being good).
The little prince is depressed: Like the book (If I'm not wrong) TLP is tired of his existence but don't worry The fox and The rose help him everytime he needs somebody. Everytime he goes to a planet he learns new things to face his depression.
The relationship of the rose and the Little prince: At first it's uncomfortable and awkward but as the story progresses and the little prince learns from each planet their relationship grow stronger
I will start from the planet of the wind

Haiiii,
I don’t want to sound ungrateful because we got to see gg onscreen after a long long time and only I know how much I missed him and felt depressed over it. But my ask is actually about the timings of the release of his shows. Do you not think the release of the longest promise is just messy and weird? There was no announcement and it was suddenly released after such a long wait. A show that is so highly anticipated was dropped just like that nobody was prepared. And there is no break between the youth memories and this. Some people are still watching TYM and they’ll be left behind by the time they finish that. I don’t know what’s more annoying releasing the show without any news or announcement or releasing it right after his previous show finished and that show is still being widely watched.
But then Im also in conflict because at-least TLP is FINALLY released but it’s so hard to avoid spoilers because it’s everywhere and I can’t watch it yet. Am I the only one whose a little annoyed by this all?
Poor TLP, it just can't catch a break from fans! It's not coming fast enough, it was dropped too fast! 😅
I was hoping there would be a bit more of a delay before it was released, because I'm still working on The Youth Memories, but ultimately it doesn't matter. I'm not one of those people who feels like I have to catch something as it is airing, when everyone else is watching it. If anything, I prefer to view things on my own timeline.
Spoilers aren't all that difficult to avoid. I have The Longest Promise filtered on Tumblr, and I skip past any posts I see about it on other platforms. This is something I'm really used to doing because I almost never watch something while it's airing. I did this with The Youth Memories, I did this with Legend of Fei and Being a Hero and Ace Troops.
Variety shows are the exception to that, of course, but even then it can be hard to keep up. SDOC 3 and 4, for example, gave us hours and hours of content to keep up with every week, and if we fall behind one week that only doubles the amount we have to watch before getting caught up.
Anyway, I don't personally see release schedules as something to get too worked up about. I just watch things in my own time and on my own terms.
In C-ent it's quite common for projects to be dropped randomly out of the clear blue sky, and with no discernible strategy behind it. This happens with almost every drama project of GG and DD's. There's no point in getting upset about it, or reading anything into it. Might as well shout at the wind! 😅

Hi Frank! Can you tell me more about the development of literacy in Ω to S year olds? I've never studied that age range!
Sure.
In the earliest years of Ω to S history, babies and small children were largely uneducated. They were "rudimentarily" literate in that they could write simple words, but they knew virtually no vocabulary except those words. (There are some records of "baby's first message," a handful of words read by computer screen and typed by the child at the age of one or two.)
The adults of the day were appalled by the technology. In one instance recorded by TLP historians, a man named Gerald Thrasher was quoted as saying,
the computer is the most hideous and vile creation of mankind. it makes a mockery of humanity, by claiming to "educate" our children when it is able only to substitute the primal "mimicry" of sign language for natural language, which we humans can learn on our own… the computer has brought about the death of learning; what it has shown us is that learning is not dependent on the machine… this is a frightening thing, which must be combatted by every human alive.
Among other technologies, the machine that Thrasher and his contemporaries were concerned with was a rudimentary teaching machine called the "Askbot." The Askbot worked by waiting for the child to touch a touchscreen on which was projected a teaching animation. When the child touched the screen, the voice on the animation would speak, and the Askbot would analyze the utterance to make sure it was grammatical. (The Askbot didn't understand speech very well; sometimes it would get confused and misinterpret the utterance as the beginning of a new sentence, which would make the animation say something like "that's not grammatical. please try again.")
The Askbot worked on the principle that we understand language by observing it being used -- that we learn language (say) by hearing it spoken, and practice using it by speaking. This is a hard principle to do justice to when the machine is the one speaking. On the one hand, if the Askbot is not allowed to "speak," the child loses the opportunity to imitate sentences. On the other hand, if the Askbot speaks all the time, there is a danger that the "sentences" will be too simple for the child to imitate, and it will just pick up what seem to be "empty" strings of words -- which is exactly what happened. The Askbot had only a very rudimentary understanding of grammar (some of the time; sometimes it would "forget" some grammatical feature like tense). Thus the utterances it would produce could be (and often were) "grammatical" because they consisted of a series of correct syntactic sentences, each with a completely empty content. It was left to the child to fill the content in; when he failed to do so, the Askbot would "correct" him by ignoring him or saying "try again."
Thus, in this technology, "literacy" was never really meant to be a source of information or thought. "Literacy" was simply an ability to "parse" (produce grammatical utterances), and nothing else.
Nevertheless, babies and small children mastered this skill quickly and easily. When they were three, they could write (though not read) sentences like
House red, and cat yellow.
TLP historians speculate that it is easy for children to write such sentences because they are young enough to not worry much about "meaning"; it is not difficult, as an adult, to write a technically "grammatical" sentence (like this one), though it might be hard to say why one would want to write such a sentence -- but a child has no such adult mindset, and thus feels less constrained in its choice of subjects.
Increasingly, though, the computers were doing "real" things to children, trying to "educate" them as we understand education today. The Askbot was discontinued; in its place, a highly sophisticated keyboard and voice recognition were installed, which did not imitate adult speech at all, but were quite adept at language production and much better at parsing than the Askbot. These computers were able to "impose" complex grammatical forms on children (such as the ability to properly case-mark nouns), and probably "forced" them to learn many new nouns (these would never have come up in the course of ordinary conversation, only during formal lessons).
Instead of teaching words like "tap" or "house," now children were learning full-fledged sentences like
House purple, and tap green.
The adults of the time objected to this technology on the grounds that it was being used to teach children syntax instead of content, and that its expectations for "parsing" were becoming too advanced (demanding the children produce complete sentences, which they could not possibly understand, on command). Nevertheless, the technology was very effective; the kind of teaching done in Ω to S was far more efficient than before, and children mastered the complex "nineteenth century" grammar much more easily than children in other parts of the world were doing. (This is one reason why the three-year-olds had such a leg up in the naming competition; the complex grammar "went over their heads," leaving them with a good grasp of its basics and making it very easy for them to describe the vast set of objects they came across in a technical, grammatical way.)
When the nineteenth century was over, many adults saw this technology as the first step to an inevitable culmination in a fully sentient artificial intelligence. Soon, they thought, computer programs would be perfectly adequate substitutes for teachers. The American government was sinking rapidly into debt. People began to fear what would happen if the government could no longer afford to support the education of young children.
Much of the opposition to the "teaching machines" came from the Catholic Church. The Church's anti-computer stance had become more radical during the war; it now held that all technology was contrary to the will of God. The presence of the machines in all schools, preaching the false doctrine of "education and technological progress," made it difficult to keep the Catholic children in the Church. The people who wanted to keep the Church functional needed to get the machines out of the schools.
But there was no broad consensus on this. For one thing, it was argued, the "teaching machines" were still a good substitute for human teachers, and they would be for quite some time -- perhaps for the rest of the century or longer. And although the children were learning the "grammar" of the nineteenth century, and not really learning much else, they were learning it. Of course it would be better if the children learned more than they were learning now, but it would be better for them to learn the "grammar" (which was after all "normal" grammar and thus an important part of the language) than it would be for them to learn nothing but superstitions and fables. Indeed, the "grammar" might be a good foundation for many other things that the children might learn later in life.
And it was not as though the machines were being used to impose "twentieth century" ideas -- or "nineteenth century" ideas, for that matter. The very worst that could be said about the machines is that their teaching was probably "too narrow" -- as were the lessons given by many human teachers. Some children had even suggested, albeit in the past tense, that the machines had "taught them about" various things -- had "taught them about 'tap' and 'house,'" for example -- but these were clearly fables. Still, if nothing else, the children were learning language.
Whatever the machines were teaching children, it was not "experience" -- and that is what most people want to see in their children, ultimately. Of course, humans can learn something by "experience," and if "experience" was what was being taught, perhaps that would be all to the good. (Of course, humans can also learn "experience" just by having experiences, without any teaching at all -- but then that would be a waste of time.)
A broad coalition formed, consisting of Catholics and all who felt uneasy at the rise of "technological progress." It had a very general agenda, which amounted to the claim that children should not be subjected to the "teaching machines," but instead should be kept in close contact with nature, taken out into the countryside, and given a well-rounded old-fashioned "human" education -- the kind of education they got from their human teachers before the nineteenth century. That way, they would have "experience."
This coalition got its name from a single speech, given on 12 November 1918 by a 42-year-old lawyer named Charles -- not Charles Graham, but Charles Hollis -- during the debate on education in the House of Representatives. It became known as the "Hollis Speech." Here are a few excerpts:
In my opinion, the children should be allowed to form their own ideas in a great many subjects, and should not be told, for example, that a certain thing is a thing. After all, whether a thing is a thing depends upon how you define the concept of "is."

[TEASER] THE LOVE PROGNOSIS (m) — JJK.
for as long as you can remember, you’ve always been a hopeless romantic.
the girl who’s always dreamt of cheesy encounters with her soulmate, grand love declarations, and a cute little beach wedding to boot. the kind of girl who thought her high school jock boyfriend would make good on his promise of keeping contact until college. that girl who thought the guy she met at 19 at some sleazy frat party wanted more than just sex. the girl who thought that her boyfriend at 21 would finally be The One after he introduced her to his parents on New Year’s Eve. you’re the kind of girl who thought that it was smart to get a boyfriend in her first year of med school and get proposed to in fourth year.
but reality pretty much slaps you hard right on the face, because love, unfortunately, doesn’t come grand — it’s simple and it’s quiet, but it is quite painful, especially when the love that you’ve been seeking for all your adult life has just been right under your nose all this time.

“Hey, swing me.”
You tell Jungkook, situating yourself more comfortably on the wooden platform attached to the chains.
“A dollar per minute.” He says, standing up from his own seat and placing himself behind you.
“I thought you hate capitalism? What is this?”
“This is forced labor.” Jungkook says with a groan that you think is a feigned exasperation, since you begin to feel movement right after it.
“You broke my hairdryer the other day. Consider this your compensation.” You look up at him to give him a smarmy smile.
Fom where you’re seated, you realize just how… big his presence is. It’s not the looming, ominous type, though – it’s quite the opposite. When Jungkook surrounds you, you find a bit of comfort in it. A huge one if you want to be honest to yourself.
“And I already bought you a new one. We’re even.” Jungkook squints his eyes at you.
You laugh.
“You’re gonna borrow and break it again.”
He visibly winces. “Touché.”
Jungkook swings you while you talk about your day, just like usual. He asks you about your laparoscopy that kept you from having lunch with the rest of your friends at the hospital earlier that day, about your new scrub cap, and you gossip a little about the new lab tech having a crush on the scrub nurse you both know.
For all his complaints earlier, Jungkook seemingly doesn’t seem to mind having swung you for the past ten minutes now. He’s relaxed and gentle with his movements, and his voice is quaint and soft as he talks to you.
But then you start to feel bad for him so you tell him to stop, standing up from the swing.
“Okay, your turn.”
Jungkook gives you a big grin.
“Nice.”
You chuckle at his enthusiasm when he sits on the swing chair this time around. But when you attempt a push, he barely moves, prompting him to laugh.
“What weak ass push was that?” He says incredulously, looking at you.
You jut your bottom lip out. “You’re heavy and I’m drunk.”
The second time you push him is more forceful but then Jungkook voices out a complaint after the third, fourth, and every single time you do it. You roll your eyes at his tantrums, but then suddenly, you think of a much better idea.
You push him off the swing with all your remaining strength even though your body feels like jelly from all the alcohol you consumed an hour ago.
“What the fuck, __?”
You burst out in boisterous laughter at Jungkook’s state, his hands and knees planted on the ground. He then sits on it, clapping his palms together to get rid of some dust that gathered on his skin.
Without thinking too much about it, you make quick steps over to his direction and situate yourself beside him.
Jungkook looks at you, confused, but you only give him a grin.
“Let’s lie on the ground.”
“What? No!” Jungkook immediately opposes it. As you expected.
You scrunch your face. “Oh! Look at me! I’m Jeon Jungkook and I’m a germaphobe and I’m afraid of dirt!” You say, intentionally making your voice a pitch higher.
Jungkook deadpans. “Pathogens can kill your cells’ metabolic machinery, so, yeah? I’m afraid of dirt.”
You roll your eyes at him and while he goes off about how they can also cause a toxic massive immune reaction, you push his chest forcefully which catches him off guard, prompting him to lay on the ground. Before he can say anything, you take his arm out to spread beside you and you use it to rest your head on.
Jungkook stops his rambling after that.
“See, shut up.” You say, backhanding him slightly on the chest. You fix your gaze at the skies. “The sky is beautiful tonight. Worry about your pathogens next time.”
Jungkook chuckles, and you feel the vibration of his body as he does so, being so close to him. As you peer up to look at him, you see him folding his other arm to lie his head on it.
You smile, going back to looking at the sky.
“This is like in The Notebook.” Jungkook says after a beat of silence.
“Right?” You grin. “And with the pathogens, too.” You tease.
Jungkook laughs, pinching your arm in his reach. “God, shut up about your pathogens.”
You chuckle at the irony.
“That’s me,” you point upwards, referring to a big twinkling light in the sky. Then, you move your finger towards the star beside it. “And then that’s you, ‘cause I’m a bigger star than you.”
You feel Jungkook look at you from his position. “You are so drunk.”
That causes you to giggle, clutching your stomach because you can’t stop laughing at pretty much everything tonight.
“I feel like I'm not anymore. My head just feels like it’s floating but no, definitely not drunk.”
“Whatever you say.” Jungkook says, chest vibrating from laughing at you.
“Hm. Race you to sleep, Jungkook.” You snuggle on his armpit. As you do, you smell a waft of your water lily springs body wash from Bath and Body Works. “Can you stop using my body wash?”
“What?” You can hear Jungkook say, but as he calls your name and more, his voice starts fading. “__? Hey, don’t sleep on me.”
You hum, eyes still closed.
“__, hey!” Jungkook grazes your arms. You can feel your head moving as Jungkook starts to sit, guiding your back to sit upright. He calls you again, gently tapping your cheek to wake you up.
The truth is, you’re really sleepy, but not so much that you can’t hear him anymore or move on your own.
Jungkook gives up trying to wake you up, though, convinced by your acting. Soon, he goes over in front of you, reaching for your arms and placing them around his neck.
“Just put your legs around me, yeah?” He whispers against your hair once you’re glued against his back.
You hum, intending it to sound like a mumble so Jungkook thinks you don’t actually understand.
Jungkook fixes your legs around him, standing up, bouncing a little to get you nice and snug in his back. You smile at the prospect of a piggyback ride.
“I know you’re awake, silly,” He says suddenly, his voice painted with amusement.
You stifle your laughter against his neck, breaking your supposed to be convincing act.
“Race you to the car, Kook.” you whisper into his ear.
Jungkook scoffs, but he doesn’t say anything more until you reach his car. He wears your seatbelt for you, though, and tells you to drink more water from his tumbler.
You fall asleep easily mid-drive.
In the morning, you wake up with a banging headache, your eyes catching the sight of a post-it note on your desk with one tab of Advil.
morning/afternoon stinky i made porridge before i left for my shift just heat it up again when you wake up
ps: your medical bill from my personal care will be discussed later when i get back home. no friends discount allowed
— your angelic friend, kookie
You chuckle at the (annoyingly elaborate) sketch of an angry bunny on the side.

You're not gonna believe what time it is. I'm going to talk about my TGC gijinka again, and you will listen.
Too cringe. Their story under the cut.
It all started back in 2022. I had my collection of gaming companies gijinkas for a while at that point, and, since I became a Sky player, I decided to do TGC too. Somewhere near this point, my best friend started playing Genshin Impact and asked me to make a design for Mihoyo. We talked about our games and our companies a lot. We liked how people back then (right after TLP season) wished for Sky × Genshin crossover while these games are complete opposites. We thought: "Hey, wouldn't it be fun if TGC and Mihoyo were actual friends?". And when Sky made it to Playstation, we said: "Yes, they are definitely friends.". So we are here.
After Journey was released, TGC left Sony's court and became a free company. She lost the title of "Playstation champion", which only the most successful out of Sony's apprentices get, but TGC didn't want to look back. However, life in the wild had its own flaws. Especially crises. After years of surviving on her own, TGC is forced to return to Sony, or else she will be bankrupt.
It turned out that Sony's court had changed over the time that TGC was gone. There are some new faces here. One of them is Mihoyo, the new Playstation champion. Mihoyo was fascinated by TGC's care-free approach towards life, something workaholic like her din't understand. And TGC finally had someone to share her knowledge with. So these two start hanging out together. Pretty much, yeah. NOT SHIP.
I like their dynamic. Maybe I will draw them more often. BTW, do you want to know more about my gaming companies' world and story?
#Am i even allowed to put it in sky cotl tag#is this sky#thatgamecompany#Mihoyo#humanization#gijinka#cheat codes

I actually really wanna hear that hour presentation about how Nettie was made because parthenogenesis is a natural process that happens in the body. But Donnie calls Nettie an experiment like she was made in a lab. Did he experiment on himself to induce parthenogenesis?
so basically I am NOT a biologist so I only have a very surface level understanding of parthenogensis but basically yeah!
After the kraang and the whole merging with the technodrome situation, Donnie got really into biology, and specifically animal biology which I don't think he was really into before. I always imagined donnie to be really squeamish when it comes to blood and guts and bodily stuff, but merging with the technodrome really kind of shoved that out of him, and he finds some comfort now in studying animal biology.
He basically ends up doing a deep dive into his own biology, since that's really the easiest body he has access to. like sure he could study his brothers but they have their own lives and he well, controls his own body so he can do whatever he wants with it. And in the process he sort of connects the dots like huh, Draxum made us to be weapons of war but would he also want us to be able to reproduce? Because obviously draxum wouldnt want his biological weapons to just die and end there, it would make sense if the turtles were capable of reproduction if just for the benefit of draxum not having to remutate new animals everytime one of his weapons got injured.
So Donnie follows that logic and is like huh, well some reptiles can reproduce asexually (not softshell turtles from what I can tell based on my VERY BRIEF research) but he I wonder if because of Draxum's mutation if I could also do that.
If I was an actual biologist or if I had more time to do actual research into parthenogensis and asexual reproduction I would totally write out Donnie's whole presentation and figure out the science behind how Nettie was made but alas, I am in school rn and I dont really have the time
maybe in december that could be a fun little project when the quarter ends but I was planning on using that time to crank out as much TLP content as possible so who knows! I have gotten quite attached to Nettie and I want to make more stuff about her so maybe I'll end up doing a biology deep dive
#bean babbles#answered asks#anonymous asks#internet archive#idk if anyone who follows me is an actual biologist#or knows more about biology#feel free to hit me up!#i study anthropology so all of the biology i really know about is just about primates#and even then most of that biology is like ecology related#or like...about the biology of the person after they have died...like when they are bones

I show my ocs again pt. 3 — character I haven't drawn in months edition (lazy art, maybe???)
Meet my girl Eliza Hopp!
⁽¹⁷ᵗʰ ᵒᶠ ˢᵉᵖᵗᵉᵐᵇᵉʳ, ¹⁸⁰² – ¹⁸ᵗʰ ᵒᶠ ᴶᵃⁿᵘᵃʳʸ, ¹⁸⁴⁸⁾
— "Eliza" is short for nothing. Her name is just Eliza. Her name is just a partner name to her mother's, "Beth."
— More about her name: she lacks a middle name (common for her species before 1837 and the mid 1800s in general, although there were cases of this happening afterwards too) and her surname, "Hopp," came from her half brother. It was originally "Hop," as he was half snowy tree cricket, but was changed to "Hopp" later on as an homage to mayor and Eliza's dearest friend, Rainn Fort.
— She's yet another butterfly puppet!! Beth is a holly blue whilst Eliza's father, Jeremy, is a brown/orange butterfly puppet of an unidentified species.
— She has two half siblings, Cassandra Flinders and Thomas Hopp, and two step-parents on both sides of her family, Crispin [step-father on mother's side] and Nyx [step-mother on father's side]. Through her half-brother Eliza has a sister-in-law named Alessandra Hopp who's a gramophone puppet (illegally built), and through her half-sister a brother-in-law named Benjamin "Ben" Flinders who's an anthro lyrebird originally from Eastern Australia. Eliza is also an aunt of seven kids thanks to Ben and Cassandra: from oldest to youngest they are Bellatrix, Samuel, Juliet, Daphne, Fiona, James, and Ashley (M). If this wasn't enough there's also a funky Scottish spirit dude named Duncan who helped nurse and raise all said kids so that they'd survive.
— Technically she has a husband named Rhys Maddox but only when their souls go and live other lives and end up meeting each other on Earth again via new lives and all that junk. They don't plan on having kids but they love each other very much. 😌
— As of mid 2023 she's no longer a resident of Nowhere And Also Everywhere aka "the afterlife," but will return once her current life passes on.
— In terms of personality, Eliza was quite the pessimist and was known to have a very low self esteem. She saw herself as not good enough to do anything but be anything but the town maid (HEAVILY influenced by her backstory) and was very quiet, only speaking to a select few people she felt like talking to: Rainn Fort, poet (and commonly credited founder of the town TLP, alongside Rainn) Matthew Milkweed, Cassandra, and Thomas were lucky enough, among others. Since being dead, her conditions improved.
— (Read backstory for context) Due to her upbringing she struggled a lot with mental illness, specifically depression and anxiety [PTSD and OCD are possible for her as well, but I need to look more into the former and develop her personality a lil more before I make a final judgement.) Even more well known was her maladaptive daydreaming (not a mental illness but oftentimes a symptom of one), which started in early childhood and lasted for the remainder of her life. It's very likely her maladaptive daydreaming played a major role in her untimely demise. On top of maladaptive daydreaming, it's very possible she's hyperphantasic, as I see her having a very vivid imagination.
Beautiful art by @fishyfishyfishtimes! Pieces are a couple years old:
• Here you'll notice she lacks clothing. She's depicted with a rounder segmented body above but actually has a more rectangular body type without any segments. Lack of clothing was first made popular in the 1960s and became accepted in the mainstream in following decades but with the exception of the first puppets in the 10th century, this wasn't the case. Puppets wore clothes, albeit quite raggedy (basically think "poor person in the Middle Ages") and torn, especially those that worked in manual labor. Here, Eliza's without clothes simply because she didn't have a dress design.
• Eliza with her half-siblings!! She and Thomas were very close to each other before she passed, and both were very depressed and angry at the world thanks to very very less than ideal living situations growing up. Cassandra is more of a mediator figure in the trio, see. They might not look it here in this doodle but they were actually quite close during their time together. All three of them lived together in one house and Cassandra frequently visited even when she moved out to live with her husband.
Drawings of caterpillar Eliza:
• Here's a good example of what caterpillars look like! These babies really are like insect puppies, if puppies had a more plant/fruit/vegetable based diet (too much meat for a caterpillar can cause stomach aches). They typically have 6-8 legs and having a "tail" depends on genetics. Eliza here doesn't have one! Caterpillars oftentimes have their future wing prints on their body, kinda like a fun Easter egg for what's to come. Eliza has black spots since Holly blue butterflies have small black spots on their wings :)
• A version of the doodle above except she has a dress. Nothing much to say here besides um. I don't think I can draw loose clothing on complex forms too well.
Eliza's Backstory (1802 – 2023)
CW: Backstory includes mentions of slavery, childhood trauma, segregation, and death
— This backstory is currently incomplete you can help by expanding it. Some details are still a WIP but I'd say it's coherent enough to count as a character backstory.
— A lot of the lore in the backstory was written by none other than @fishyfishyfishtimes ! She's an amazing worldbuilder so please go check her out. She only posts fish/sea creature related things (for now?) but maybe you like that too, I dunno.
Eliza was born (read as: hatched out of her egg) thanks to two puppet slave parents, Beth and Jeremy, sometime in 1802 (usually recorded as "the 17th of September" for simplicity); she was born in a household in London and spent the first couple years of her life around the house with fellow small children and even human children. Like many to-be slaves, contact with her parents was extremely limited if there was any contact at all as many children of slaves couldn't recognize who their parents were or were even allowed to interact with anyone outside their immediate field of view, or alternatively, they were to be sent off to a different household to work.
Reasonably, her living conditions for the first 35 years of life were less than ideal: like many "weaker" and more fashionable species, such as the butterfly, Eliza was resigned to do indoor tasks (most notably cleaning, given her fixation later on) and on rare occasions she would have to do garden work. She lived a life entirely at home, unaware of much of the outside world. Her time was mostly occupied by her excessive daydreaming while she slaved away.
This all changed on the 22nd of May, 1837, a day that's very well known in the (Universe) UK and around much of the world: after 8 centuries of being treated like mere "puppets," the first instance of puppets gaining personal freedoms finally occurred, on this particular day in British territory. Some human families paid royalties to those that had been treated so horribly. Puppet building was officially banned. There was only one nasty catch: instead of being integrated, both puppets and humans were now segregated by law. Thousands of puppets were grouped/grouped together themselves and left areas declared to be "human" areas (mostly big cities, such as London). Travel was allowed but heavily frowned upon by both human society and puppet society alike.
Somewhere in the midst of the chaos, Eliza got in contact with two puppets in particular, Cassandra and Thomas, who turned out to be her relatives. From 1837 – 1839, the trio traveled from developing town to developing town, eventually landing in a developing town between the counties of Kent and East Sussex, Townlocationplace ["TLP" for short]. Eliza quickly became infatuated with the mayor, Rainn Fort. The two became best friends but Eliza wasn't too content with just being friends. Unfortunately, Rainn had instead married a mute dragonfly woman named Alice Brown. This upset Eliza but she didn't push it. The pair remained good friends; Rainn helped her with literacy and even bought her new clothes to wear.
Eliza, however, remained in the cycle she was born into. If not in bed daydreaming, she would be seen wandering around the streets of the town aimlessly. On one of these trips, this proved to be an exceptionally dangerous practice.
On the night of the 17th of January, 1848, Eliza had written a love note to Rainn, wanting to deliver it to him in person. She had no clothes appropriate for going out in the snowy cold, only a gown. In the early morning hours she'd instead gotten lost and froze out in the dark.
Not too long after her soul was transported to Nowhere And Also Everywhere ("the afterlife") where she remained until finally trying to live a brand new life in the late 20th century. As of mid 2023, the present in the Universe, she's still living on Earth.

With this newest chapter of TLP and Cass seemingly having accepted Eugene as her brother (at least for the sake of fighting Gothel), I wonder how long you think Cass would have taken to accept this news had the situation been less urgent? Say the guards didn't force Rapunzel to push Eugene of a cliff and he came back to Corona with them? Would Cass have accepted this news or been like 'nah'?
Well. This is definitely an interesting question and I've spent the last 12 hours thinking about this very scenario.
If the situation had been less urgent, Cass would have eventually accepted it though with a lot of push-back on her side first of all. But, if we were looking at the perspective from if Eugene had returned to Corona with them, would Cass have accepted the news quickly or been like 'nah'?
I've written a short scene detailing this very scenario...
Cassandra could hardly believe the audacity of King Edmund. He could not be her father. More to the point Eugene could not be her brother. It did not make any sense! She folded her arms, glaring at the man who kept on insisting he was her father. "I don't know what side of the bed you woke up on this side of the morning, but you are not my father!" She pointed towards Eugene. "And, he is not my made-up twin brother!"
"Daughter, you must understand-" Edmund started.
Cassandra glared. "Do not call me daughter!"
"I would have done right by you if I could have done..." Edmund admitted. "Your brother was missing. I had to leave you here. You were both dying... I never once forgot you Cassandra. Every year I visited you on your birthday."
"That doesn't mean anything!" Cassandra retorted angrily.
"What about your hair going blue whenever I use my powers in close proximity to you?" Eugene interrupted.
Cassandra whirled to face him. "You stay out of this!" She turned back to Edmund but then quickly back to Eugene. He hair was blue. And so was hers. "STOP DOING THAT!"
"I feel you in my chest," he responded quietly. "Don't you feel it too?"
She didn't want to admit anything.
"Have you ever felt empty, Cassandra?" Edmund pressed.
Balling her fists together, Cassandra growled angrily. "Yes."
"But do you feel empty now?" asked Eugene.
It took a lot to say it, but she eventually did. "Yes." Her shoulders slumped forward. "You can't be my brother. You can't. And... he can't be my father!"
"Why not? You are adopted..." Eugene had figured that out pretty quickly.
"I know... But admitting that he is my father is one thing... but accepting it is another. By accepting it, it means I know he never loved me. He chose to gave me away instead of raising me himself!"
Edmund stepped forward, sorrow reflecting gently on his face. "I would have raised you, Cassandra, if you were not dying. The link between the two of you, if it shatters in the first six months of life, it means the other twin dies too. The separation between the two of you had you both dying. We had a rough idea where your brother was likely to be. We placed you here in the hope that you were close enough to keep you both alive long enough to survive past the shattering stage. I couldn't stay with you. I had to look after my wife and my own Kingdom. I did everything I could to keep you both alive even if it meant giving you up. It was the hardest day of my life leaving you here, knowing that I would never see you grow up."
She couldn't argue against it. Cassandra sighed. She pierced Edmund with a stubborn glare. "You've got a lot to make up for before I can even forgive you. You know that, right?"
Edmund smiled sadly. "Of course, my daughter. Would you like me to start now?"
Cassandra rolled her eyes. "If we must. And, you, Eugene, quit with the blue hair!"
Eugene smirked. "Why? Blue looks good on you."
"Oh, that's it... You asked for it!"
Eugene stepped back laughing as Cassandra lunged at him. "You can't catch me!"
And he ran off.
"OI! Get back here!" Cassandra ran after him.
Edmund watched on, a contented smile on his face.
Arianna slid up beside him. "You know those two are not going to get on, right?"
"Oh, I know, but it'll be fun to watch..." Edmund smiled.
THIS COULD GO ON FOREVER IF I DO NOT FORCE MYSELF TO STOP! OOPS XD
