I do feel like these designs maybe portray the clearest arc out of all of them so far. I like that #some of it came from a bit of necessity which is really fun that mirrors the actual play format thats cool #(necessity being freshman year riz is pretty much a huge block of red flannel lmao. kinda stole figs canon color coding for a bit)#(and he's got the owlbear jacket from taping the games in sophomore year... so I cant give fig the big red blocking until #junior year lmao. coincidentally this forced me to be a bit more dynamic with her concept which is great)#her second pair of shoes very sonic tho. btw in case anybody's wondering what i've been working on as of late i've mostly been redesigning this guy for the 4th time because sometimes good ideas are bad

#he wears biker gear now 👍 the level of detail is murdering me in real life but it looks cool #atbb #karma #not art-tagging or main-tagging this bc its a wip #but i'll still leave rbs open for a bit bc i don't plan to post any finished redesigns until a good bit in the future #oh yea im gonna be redesigning like the entire atbb crew btw . i wanna Fix them all now that i have the skills of someone older than 14 #as shown here by karma no longer being a skinny rectangle with a head the size of a prized pumpkin #and the fact that i'm not nearly as scared of actually drawing wrinkles in clothes anymore lmao #i was planning to start drawing the new refs after i finished the whole ebony thing #but my brain decided to go on strike until i drew a different character and after 4 months i had to give in to demand 😔#i'll get back to that hopefully soon enough once i get back into the groove of drawing but for now i'm focused on Hellish Details #pro tip never design a character with biker gear it looks sick but you'll be in pain the entire time #especially if u try to make the collar accurate. dont ever ever make the collar of a leather jacket accurate just trust me on this one #anyway thats all for now i will disappear for another ten thousand years

#at least i had half a mind to not continue the piece angry. but man. it is deeply upsetting.#a part of me really wants to catch up on feh too but like. i have 'if you're sick enough to stay home #you're too sick to play video games' syndrome. i wasn't even raised like that i do this to myself.#NO fun allowed. accomplish your task or flog yourself over it 10000 times.#whenever i wanna ref heikala's work i should take that as a Sign. that it's so over for me.#i had a coffee but i don't even know what to do now. i'm just going to seethe over it. forever.#like i cannot emphasize how badly i feel like i'm Not Allowed to do anything else.#i feel like there's no way i'm gonna make it. like. i've gotten a p good sense of how much time goes into a piece actually #esp from this experience. not something i've EVER done before. but i do sort of have a measure on it now #and can conceptualize a rough estimate. for like each phase of the piece.#if it were a simplier piece MAYBE. i'd make it. but there are a lot of factors here that are adding to time/effort needed #like i've gotten really good at coloring. but this one requires something slightly different. a new technique essentially #something i think i'd have to practice at least a few dif times to really feel confident in using on a Piece #and in all of this i have to do it x2. i thought i was cheating the way i did it but i think i just made more work for myself.#it's just.... SO deeply upsetting........ bc it's not even a responsibility. this is something that is so significant to me personally.#idk i think you should all throw tomatoes at me and boo me off stage. never let me do this again.
