I need to ask cause I kinda want to publish some poetry of mine. How do you self-publish something? Also how do you know when something is good enough to publish?

ummmm i am not the right person to ask lol i have never self-published. the only poetry i've published at all has been in very small indie lit mags & the way i've done that is basically when i find a poet or poem i like i see where they publish & if the publications are accepting submissions etc. there are tons of indie lit mags out there u could also look out for like flyers on college campuses or in coffee shops or bookstores etc sometimes local lit mags or zines or other various publications will advertise that they're open for submission the old-fashioned way. or if u find one lit mag u like go find their insta or social media & see who they follow -- sometimes u can find other similar publications that way.

& there's no such thing as "good enough to publish" tons of dogshit writing gets published every year. free urself from the idea that publication is a metric by which literary value is measured...read essays against publishing by jamie berrout...if you've written a poem that u like & u wanna try to publish it just go for it. & if u decide that u don't wanna publish it u can still just post it on the internet & share it that way. some of my favorite writing i've ever encountered is stuff people just posted on the internet that was never officially published. even if one single person reads it and loves it & copies it down in their journal or memorizes a line or thinks of it from time to time that's what art's all about....

With Sounds of City, Vol. 2 just around the corner, I’ve been reflecting on the journey so far—especially the first compilation and the release of my single Nocturnal. Being part of Sounds of City, Vol. 1 was an incredible experience, and sharing Nocturnal with you all marked a huge milestone in my growth as an artist.

NEW HALSEY ALBUM, THE GREAT IMPERSONATOR, OUT NOW

Today, GRAMMY® nominated, genre-blending artist Halsey released her highly anticipated 5th studio album, The Great Impersonator.

Earlier this year, Halsey previewed the album through her releases, “I Never Loved You”, “Ego”, Lonely is the Muse”, “Lucky” and "The End".

Of the album, Rolling Stone gave it 4 stars and claims it as Halsey’s “rawest, darkest incarnation yet”, The New York Times listed it as a Critic’s Pick, while NME rated it with a perfect score of 5/5 and labeled it as “brilliant” and the CLASH heralded it as “extraordinary, a complex work of towering ambition”. 

To visually interpret her new album, Halsey and Vevo partnered for a Vevo Official Live Performance to create four meticulously designed videos that each encapsulate a different musical decade. The series kicks off today in the 70’s for “Panic Attack,” with Halsey clad in a Stevie Nicks-inspired dress sourced from one of LA’s most iconic wardrobe rental houses.

In celebration for the release, Halsey will have a special performance tonight, Friday, October 25, at Brooklyn Paramount in Brooklyn, NY and Sunday, October 27, at Stubb’s Waller Creek Amphitheater in Austin, TX where she will perform the album in its entirety. Starting earlier this month in anticipation for the album, Halsey revealed her impersonations of a different icon each day and teased a snippet of the song they inspired. You can find her impersonations of Dolly Parton, PJ Harvey, Kate Bush and more HERE.

Halsey has amassed more than 50 billion global streams, over 75 million RIAA-Certified adjusted singles, with all 4 of her previous albums RIAA-Certified. LOW TIDE (2019) Grade: C+

Clever plot and good production value. Could have had more mystery surrounding it. Some characters don't get flushed out enough. Ending was a let down. Still a good indie film.
