indeed my exact process once every 8 months or so

#I just thought today of a new way to format a 'profile' (like the descriptions of self that people use on friend meeting #apps and stuff) and how to organize the sections so that it seems such and such a way and oh what if there's links which click off #into branching paths so it's very acessible and there are two different forms depending on so on and so forth #and i was like 'um.. wow. amazing idea. this will be soooo aweseome and will definitely work' but then .. you know...self reflection #lol.. is this just like the millions of other iterations of a similar thing? No.. This Is Different ... Surely...#Though if I had a millionaire friend and a few people who do the type of coding you use for web design stuff and etc..#I could create the most elaborate detailed and amazing platonic friend seeking (and I guess you could also have 'dating' as an option #since that would draw in more of a crowd) website on the earth.. the new okcupid (back when okcupid didn't suckishly abandon their #whole format in hopes of trying to become just like tinder or whatever and they actually had like tons of info and percentages and #open answer questions and would list personality traits on a profile (like 'this person is more Open To New Expereinces than 65% of #other users' etc.). etc. etc. Oh what a beautiful thing I could craft for the detail freaks of the world.... Alas...#unfortunately we seem to be in an oversimplification era.. everything in short quick bites. everything on a tiny phone screen. etc.#marketing 'Introducing The Most Complicated Data Heavy Social Connection Site In The World' would not sell well I'd imagine gjhgjh #AANYWAY.. also no idea why the representation of me is in a turtle neck. what a bold fashion choice..#In another moment of self reflection.. the fact that in the first tag on this post I felt the need to define the word 'profile' just to be #specific as if people couldn't tell from context.. so clearly someone who finds filling out forms a 'fun afternoon activity' lol #the type of guy who finds psych evaluations and pop quizzes and making chore lists mostly enjoyable (< true)

I have a question, what do Earth and Titan think of each other?

Earth: I once gave him a rose and he seemed enamoured by it! It was kinda cute. He said he'd love to have kept it at home when he finally learned how to grow one someday... I hope he does. Titan: Seeing that rose for the first time was an experience... it made me want to work harder at being able to sustain life like his! I hope someday I'll be able to achieve that. Earth is so cool!

He was amazed by that rose so much, that he tried to replicate it from memory with his atmosphere.

Titan is actually a fanboy for Earth! He's always looked up to Earth as a role model. Because of this, sometimes Saturn does invite Earth over for a cup of tea so that they can have a chat. Titan is pretty shy though, compared to the outgoing Earth and Saturn!

It was said there was an ice volcano nicknamed "The Rose" on Titan's surface, now better known as Sotra Patera.

#I don't even know how to start in saying how much this scene hurt me. I don't even know if I can express what I'm feeling with words #because all I can think right now is how much I love Astral and how much he breaks my heart #he was born from hopes and he was given a mission that would protect the hopes and futures of his world (and all other worlds probably)#at the cost of his own existence #but that wouldn't have hurt because he wasn't created for feeling anything #He would have complete his mission with no regrets with no past with nothing to miss #just a little light of hope that would have defeated E'Rah sacrificing himself without leaving anything behind #and then he met Yuma #he started to know Yuma and his friends and adversaries and what emotions were #and the hollow hope become a person #a person who felt happiness fear love a person who now had a story and people who he would miss #and he still decided to carry on his mission because that would have protected what he now holds dear #those new emotions those connections were the key to beat E'Rah but were also what made him understand how tragic his fate was #but he didn't regret any of that #because it was Yuma and his friends and the emotions that they had made him feel that made his brief life worth living #(sometimes I forget that in the manga Astral was probably sent to Earth soon after he was created. That “brief life” is heart-breaking)#and Yuma asking him if he was okay with that and if he wasn't scared #and Astral saying that he wasn't given any means to feel such terror but he was now scared #and yet he found that fear wonderful because that means he was alive #all those emotions were what made him truly alive #not a tool not a hollow hope but a real person who still decided to sacrifice himself for protecting everyone #astral zexal #astral yu gi oh #yuma tsukumo #yu gi oh zexal #zexal #yugioh zexal #zexal manga #Zexal manga spoiler #ygo zexal

Making a mental map of my OC universe's various gods is so fun. I have at least a rough idea for the roles and personalities of 13 active gods (ie not including Storm since they're a FORMER god) but there's definitely more than 13. How many? I have no idea. But ideally if I made this universe into any sort of real project it would leave enough room for people to make OC gods

#there are 4 weather gods. 5 time gods. 3 life/death gods. and topaz the goddess of fire (not REALLY a weather god)#if i were to make more gods the first i'd make would be a god of earth (similar to topaz but connected to the life gods)#also underlings for the life gods. or maybe an overseer god for the life gods?#since both weather and time have overseers but the life gods don't #anyways there's lots of room for fun new characters #oc tag

Honestly I was mentally messing around with the idea of Misfortune being connected to Surprise since (at this very vague and not fully clarified point in time) they’re both somewhat connected to ‘manipulating probability’ (and also cuz I’m biased gndnsmfmd)

Just wanted to thank you for taking the time and effort to put together the long climate/environment post, especially the online resources. I've wanted to replace the neglected/dead non-native plants at my place with native plants for months, but didn't know where to start my search for species except to walk around my local nature preserve trying to find something that isn't invasive lol. I'll be able to start (re)introducing native plants this month because of you :-)

Thank you for the kind words. I'm glad the post has been helpful and inspiring. If you'd like more directed guidance on native plants, I can probably point you in the right direction if you can give me a general area to work with (state would suffice!). In general, go for keystone species- those that are common in your area and support many kinds of insects- or pollinator favorites, or host plants for rare/imperiled butterflies/bees/moths.

#glad I could help :)#unfortunately I think too many people forget that helping the environment is much more than recycling or taking public transit #the most direct tangible difference comes from preserving habitat #because that's where ecosystem services come from - clean air and water and carbon sequestration and fish/game habitat #and much more. we need biodiversity and functioning ecosystems to be able to cope with climate change. if habitat is lost and #fragmented then local populations of plants and animals will struggle to persist #they need to be able to move through the landscape safely. to migrate and shift their ranges and find food #they need to maintain gene flow and a source of new individuals to keep populations alive #habitat fragmentation is as insidious a threat as habitat loss. every time a new housing development is built we chop up the land more #but it's easy to restore those stepping stones #and the effects are measurable. you'd be surprised how many species including rare ones can show up in these little patches #because a corridor can support many more species than each patch alone. connection trumps isolation. connection saves us.#the earth is a living breathing thing. the soil is alive the water is alive. this entire biosphere coevolved together. we can't break it up
