Okay so, my phone got completely messed up, the screen is cracked to hell and back so I can't draw anything. Since commissions and adoptables are my only source of income, I need to get it repaired as soon as I can but I can't afford it right now

Romance is often very dehumanizing,personally.

Being hyper dependent on someone (as if you have no autonomy)

The idea that it is what 'makes you human' which is dangerous for all kinds of reasons and is the most literal display of the dehumanization.

I am not someone's purpose as I am 1 person. No more, no less. Sure I cant be replaced, but that kind of pressure literally leads to people losing their lives due to abuse. A purpose can not be a person inherently.

Attention USA citizens

If you haven't already been made aware, there's been a massive data breach with the company National Public Data. It's basically an information database that employers use to run background checks, and they have basicly every part if your personal info on there; think social full name places of resident birthdat ect.

If you haven't already you need to freeze your credit. It's both easy to do, and also easy to undo should you need to open a credit card or take out a loan later.

You NEED to freeze your credit at all three credit bureaus for this to be effective. I suggest doing Exqifax LAST because out of the three, it's the most backed up and frustrating right now.

Take care of yourselves and your future try not to put this off fixing your credit is a bitch.

I can't believe I paid off a debt and my credit score went down. Like, I knew that this was a thing that could happen but I didn't think it applied to debts in collections. Everyone said debts in collections were ALWAYS bad for credit so I was stoked when I realized I could pay it in full and yet ding dong nope good-bye to the last 4 months of progress building my credit score.

“Our research shows that medical bills on your credit report aren't even predictive of whether you'll repay another type of loan. That means people's credit scores are being unjustly and inappropriately harmed by this practice,” Chopra said.

CFPB’s research estimates that the new rule would allow 22,000 more people to get approved for safe mortgages each year — meaning lenders could also benefit from the positive impact on peoples’ credit scores, by being able to approve more borrowers. [...]

Medical debt is extensive in the U.S. It affects two in every five Americans, according to the health policy research organization KFF, and a vast majority have debt in the thousands. [...]

The new CFPB rule also seeks to address the issue of incorrect, confusing and complicated medical bills, which often lead to long, drawn-out disputes between patients and billing departments — a complaint that the CFPB, as the agency tasked with consumer empowerment, receives in droves, Chopra said.

“Too often, we see that people are receiving bills that are inaccurate. Many patients are fighting over these bills for months, only to find that it then appears on their credit report,” he said.

Experts who support the CFPB’s proposed rule also point to the already-low success rate for collecting on medical bills.

“We know empirically that the repayment rates are incredibly low for medical debt, and so it's already the case that people aren't really paying it down. So I don't think this policy change is going to change the behavior that dramatically,” said Matt Notowidigdo, a professor at University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business who studies health economics.
