so i had this thing in the back of my mind that i wanted to share a little bit about, because i think it’s highlights a little bit of karlie’s easter egging prowess

so as many of you know, i have had a certain piece of jewelry identification that’s been top of mind for awhile. a mysterious (and hilarious) evil eye necklace that karlie first wore on her birthday last year, august 3rd, 2022:

it took a long while to identify but with the help of @kwyw and @corneliastvendor and input from many more, we diligently settled upon a match with the brand Mejuri.

so

…i dunno if you remember, but back at the beginning of the year @kwyw also pointed out that there was an extra connection, between this evil eye necklace and the amulette de cartier:

both talismans of Courage.

the amulette de cartier has its own place in kaylor lore (if it’s new to you you can read about that here and here and here). but, veterans of quarantine kaylor remember how this rep era necklace made a unique surprise appearance during lover/folklore era, ultimately coinciding with karlie’s 2020 pregnancy. which, given the symbolism of the necklace, i think made a lot of thematic sense… being pregnant during the height of a pandemic is scary and, speaking from experience, i as well found myself in search of things to give me that extra peace of mind.

so seeing the necklace have that Courage keyword connection, i couldn’t help but uhhh, have a feeling so peculiar. now, with the gift of more (celebratory) information, let’s take a look at all the times karlie has worn this necklace (*reminder that some of these may be a day off because of the big time zone difference between me and the US):

August 3rd, 2022 — (as pictured above) karlie’s birthday, she writes “cheers to new beginnings xx”

September 2nd, 2022 — this therabody promo, which many of us got a kick out of after midnights was announced, first because she mentions 3am (the name of the extra version of the album) and the word midnight and second because this tiktok is set to the tune of ABBA’s “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! A Man After Midnight”

November 19th, 2022 — a post captioned friyay, notably, wearing a loewe shirt, the designer who she wore to the met gala

December 11th, 2022 — to a celebratory kode with klossy event for her young scholars

December 13th, 2022 — she wore it as part of several instagram stories she had up on taylor’s bday (thank you @kwyw for the reminder 😆)

December 18th, 2022 — she posted this the same day she posted the photos of her josh and levi at the ice skating rink (mikey and misha were there too) before heading to japan.

and then, at the met gala on May 1st, wearing loewe, she announces her pregnancy, and tells everybody that she is nearly 8 months along!

now, if we are to assume that she is 8 months along this may, we can count back ( 7mo along in april, 6mo march, 5mo feb, 4mo jan, 3mo dec, 2mo nov, 1mo along in oct, 0mo sept) and see how in order to have conceived in september, prep for that would likely have started in… yes, the month before. august! aka… when she first debuted the evil eye necklace!

and when you look back at all the phrases and contexts accompanying her posts with the piece, you can kind of see how the necklace works in concert with her setting her intentions, potentially celebrating milestones like finding out, telling people, hitting the 5 mo mark which is when the majority of pregnancies become more stable, etc… this is all to say, and this is just a simple thing but, i feel confident in saying that this necklace was in fact one way of her hinting at her next child, since all the way back in august 2022 ☺️ and since it’s an eye necklace? well, 😌 all the more nice of a feeling.

Just once can I remember to write here every day for at least 1 week in a row? Probably not lol

A while ago a bunch of kpop albums arrived at my place that I had ordered with online friends together to save on shipping, and now that everything has been unboxed and sorted I finally got to packing everyone's items. Idk why, but I just love packaging things. It's very peaceful.

I also got an email from my goverment appointed youth guidance person for disability aid. Since I'm currently unable to work we had talked about me doing something like a volunteering gig or a weekly activity at a community center or something of the sort. Turns out a community center a little bit away from me is starting a weekly creative space for people with disabilities or mental health issues who want to engage with other people in a safe space under guidance. And since I love to paint and draw, my goverment person thought this was perfect for me so she sent me info about it. And well... It IS perfect for me. Hopefully.

In 2 weeks I'm gonna find out if it really is cause I'll meet with the person organising it to see if they can offer what I'm looking for. I'm really nervous but also very excited. It's getting a bit lonely at home with just my mom and only seeing a friend once every few months. I need something to leave the house for.

Speaking of leaving the house, I actually went to an aquarium 2 days ago! I've been recovering from the exhaustion ever since I got back which is why I haven't written about it yet. I'll probably sit down and write about it tomorrow. If I remember 🤭

Ronnie Radke spitting facts about Motionless In White being a rip-off

On Sep 18th Ronnie Radke shared MIW's new Halloween poster on Twitter showing off the resemblance between the two monsters (the one from MIW's "Werewolf" and the FIR's "Popular Monster") and discussing the issue of MIW copying FIR for a while now.

He even added:

“I’m A popular popular Biter”

Last year on Oct 31st Motionless In White released the video for their song "Werewolf" directed by Jensen Noen, the same director Ronnie Radke works with constantly since "Popular Monster". The two videos ended up in resembling too much; not only the monsters, but the plot, the transformation movements, the filters and environment.

Ronnie expressed his disappointment on Twitter in a few lines, which continued in a beef, then in a few days the whole topic was forgotten.

Yesterday, after Ronnie renewing the topic and expressing his despise towards MIW about the new Halloween poster and the monster's image on it, a long argument unfolded between him + FIR fans and MIW fans defending Chris Motionless from accusations of plagiarism. At one moment Ronnie made a statement about the required honesty in general when it comes to inspirations:

In the mean time he showed the resemblance between FIR and MIW imagery on different album covers, posters and image sequences from the videos within the past few years.

He pointed out Bring Me The Horizon's video on the song "LosT", which was also made by Jensen Noen, but the resemblance with any of FIR's videos is not even close as strong as it is with "Werewolf". This is what Ronnie wrote about Oli Sykes and BMTH:

"oli Sykes went to the video director I use because he was inspired my mine, and guess what he told him “I like what you did but I don’t want to copy” he went out of his way to make a video that was his own, I gained so much respect for oli after I was told this, this is what I mean. Instead of just ripping he went out of his way to do his own thing. I RESPECT THAT SHIT, same with ice nine kills they do there OWN THING. this is what I mean."

Finally Ronnie said he doesn't take the whole copy thing as an offense, and it's actually flattering to be the good example to be copied. Mind his words:

"Anyway, this copy cat stuff is so trivial, and at end of day will be forgotten, it’s trivial to get upset at, it should be flattering if anything. But sometimes I can’t help to express myself on these matters. like who cares at end of day"

He shared some more resembling promotion stuff and soon the beef was over from his side. Fans were continuing the argument on both sides for more hours long.

A Falling In Reverse fan made a very apt comment to this whole beef. He said: "I smell a new FIR song and music video 👀👀" Rightful, Ronnie most probably had a secret goal with stirring up the moods, as usual :))

Given that Taylor does not leave LA until the 28th but is not papped anywhere, it is possible that she uses her time there to work on I Did Something Bad at Conway Studios with Max and Shellback. (x) The Making Of clips for the song show that it was recorded sometime after Taylor's haircut on the 24th Sep. (Don't Blame Me was not recorded until some point after December 13th, as she wears the J necklace in the Making Of clips and we know that was a 27th birthday present. (x)) However, it isn't possible to precisely date these clips.

Oct 25th - Katy Perry attends Kanye's concert in LA and posts a video on her Instagram story dancing along to the Famous lyric about Taylor. (x)

Oct 27th - There are rumours that Taylor and Drake are dating, following her appearance at his birthday party, but these are shut down, presumably by Tree. (x) (x)

Oct 28th - Calvin drops the music video for My Way. Some think it contains several references to Taylor. (x)

Karlie wishes Drake a belated happy birthday by posting an Instagram picture of herself and Taylor at his party. (x)

In the evening Taylor's plane goes from LA to NYC, and then from NYC to London. However, she stays completely under the radar and is not spotted anywhere in London. (x) At the time some people theorise that this means she's seeing Tom again, but in hindsight she almost certainly went to see Joe.

Oct 31st - Taylor's plane returns to the US from London. (x)

Taylor has a small Halloween party at her Cornelia Street townhouse. Guests include Gigi, Martha, Lily D, Camila, Kennedy Rayé and Emmie Gundler. Taylor dresses up as Deadpool and wears Ryan Reynolds' actual costume from the movie. (x)

Camila talks about the party a year later on Jimmy Fallon and mentions that at one point 'two attractive guys' arrived, prompting Camila to run to the bathroom and change out of her grandma costume. (x) (x) Apparently one of the guys was dressed as Spiderman. (x) If so that was probably Joe, since that's his favourite superhero. (x) Also probably a couples' costume, since Deadpool and Spiderman have a bromance going on in the comics. However, I couldn't find any original interviews where Camila mentions a Spiderman being at the party (I know she mentioned the party in some radio interviews which have since disappeared from the internet so maybe it was one of them).

Anyways, it's very likely that the guys attending what was otherwise a girl's night/Kennedy Rayé's birthday were Joe and a friend, especially since the next day Taylor's private jet made a seemingly random round trip to London and back. Presumably this trip was to drop Joe (and possibly his friend) back in London, in time for Joe to fly from the UK to Taiwan and China for Billy Lynn promo. (x) (x)

New Sounds: Week of Oct. 18th

1. Made It (Can’t Stay) by Eli Sostre

On his new project Emori, Brooklyn R&B artist Elis Sostre returns after only a year since his last album Eros. Continuing to gain a following with his dark R&B sound comparable to that of a combination of Bryson Tiller and PARTYNEXTDOOR, Made It(Can’t Stay) is a chilling braggadocios track that reminds the listener how far he came and about the women that could not see his talent. 

2. Timeless by Benny the Butcher feat. Lil Wayne & Big Sean

Benny the Butcher a member of Griselda, a hip-hop collective from Buffalo, New York, is effortless on his new album Burden of Proof. Working with established producer Hit-Boy, who was key to Kanye’s superstardom in the early 2010s, Benny has found his sound, and finally decided to move on from the grimey production. With featuring household names Lil Wayne and Big Sean, Benny is able to hold his ground lyrically, and as a result will no doubt attract new listeners. 

3. Summer of Now by James Blake

James Blake is renowned as songwriter, having had worked with the likes of Frank Ocean, Beyoncé and Bon Iver. Even as a singer he has made his mark with his therapeutic voice. On his short EP Before, he experiments with different drum loops, and commits to an emphatic upbeat sound. In an interview with Summer of Now, he describes the tune as a “post-rave or the chill-out zone, with an indie side that keeps it from feeling too clubby.”

4. Kamikaze by Omar Apollo

With comparisons to Prince and Frank Ocean, Omar Apollo was destined to succeed in the alternative music scene. With his Apolonio release, he highlights the importance of funk, and why it should still be relevant. His guitar playing ability and angelic voice allow him to completely float on Kamikaze, joining the list of new sounds this week. 

5. Dye Red by beabadoobee

If you ever needed a tongue twister, try saying bea-ba-doo-bee 20 times in a row. The Filipino born K singer who’s government name is Beatrice Lause, who doesn’t seem to fit any category. She can sound similar to Lana Del Rey one song, then completely switch her voice to resemble that of Taylor Swift as she does on Dye Red. The song on her new album Fake It Flowers illustrates stories she’s heard about other people, but ultimately with the message of being comfortable with who you are.

Even if I’m clowning a lot for Oct 18, I also hope that it doesn’t effect Halsey’s album release, she deserves its recognition and love ❤️

i’ve really been loving halsey’s rollout! it’s been super fun and really creative. her album comes out october 25th! i think if taylor was to do something on october 18th (which it’s probably still quite unlikely statistically) i think that the most common guesses people have are either tayor announcing the release date for rep tv or premiering a new music video for ttpd. i think in both of these cases halsey’s new album would not be affected, while at the same time i could see either thing meriting shawn or joe to push their albums away from the date as those are both things that would grab all the attention for that day.

Hello Killjoys! My name is Steph and welcome to the first blog of MCR Monthly. A monthly blog dedicated to all the new MCR news from this month. Here is what shook the MCRmy this month:

January 3rd:

On January 3rd, My Chemical Romance released an image of a cloaked person with a skeleton mask in a very foggy forest with a shiny dagger. The caption had a United Kingdom flag in it which we now know was hinting at the Milton Keynes MCR Show this June.

January 9th:

After the UK flag caption speculation MCR released an 11 second video of flashing symbols of the Theban alphabet which we now know was also mentioning the UK Show

It reads something along the lines of:

June 20th 2020

January 14th:

MCR release a photo of a patient in a hospital bed that had just died (noted from the sheet over the head) with a vampire in the caption…as of right now there is no definitive explanation for this, some speculate it could be a call back to The Black Parade….this theory is becoming more accepted after their next post,,

Janurary 17th:

MCR posted a 12 second video of the 1977 Pontiac Firebird (Trans AM) from Danger Days doing stunt moves in the California desert, this was followed up by a direct reference to Danger Days at the end with initial text. Its worth noting that the caption had a United States flag in it,, as of right now we do not know what it could be leading to.

January 19th:

MCR release a video on their website which linked to a youtube video called "An Offering…", the video was an unlisted link only video until it became published by the band on all platforms. On Youtube the video went Trending at reportedly #7 before falling out of Trending. Here is a description of the video:

It's in a foggy forest where we see a cloaked skeleton man running with 2 others walking. There is acoustic guitar similar to 'Romance' playing in the back ground. The main skeleton phantom arrives at a pentagram and puts a dagger in the middle of it as chants begin to be heard (most commonly agreed Gerard was the one who voiced the chanting) as another cloak phantom appeared next to him doing some sort of ritual, the video ends with the UK Show annoucement with the u's being replaced with v's most likely concluding to MCR 5

January 22nd:

(Not important but an mcr post) Ray Toro posted a selfie/photo of a giant robot statute which while wholesome isnt probably important to MCR 5….however Ray is on our nice list for being the only band member willing to say anything but the cryptic stuff we've got, you've done it again Toro!

January 24th:

Tickets for the MCR UK show at the Milton Keynes are announced and sell out within minutes.

Later on that day MCR announce another night at the Milton Keynes and the 2nd night tickets also sell out quickly….but seriously why do you need to see them back to back nights?

January 27th:

In the early morning north american hours we get a series of show annoucement dates posted by MCR for Europe:

June 23rd Dublin, Ireland @ Royal Hospital Kilmainham

July 4th Bologna, Italy @ Sonic Park Fest

July 6th Bonn, Germany @ Kunst!rasen

July 11th Moscow, Russia @ Park Live

In the midday hours MCR release another cryptic quick sigil video. After hours of work the community realized these were US tour locations and spent the day trying to decipher as many cities as possible.

In the evening of January 28th MCR release a video teaser of a teenager about to do a magic ritual, this was to promote an annoucement the following day.

January 29th:

MCR release a 13 minute short film called 'A Summoning…" of a teenager running through symbol doors away from Draculoids chasing him through different visual interpretations of all 4 MCR albums. This was number 9 on Trending for Youtube
