Favourite Drarry recs (long fics maybe? pretty please?) that are ideally to enjoy this Spring season ?
Hello again! That’s a great ask - I have a long fic rec list that you might find interesting, but this inspired me to do something more specific with Spring vibes feat house renovations, cooking as love language, gardening, domesticity, no angst romance etc etc etc. This is 100% based on my own perception of spring vibes btw, but I hope you’ll enjoy these as much as I did!
💐 Short fic:
magic in the making by @getawayfox (G, 2k)
I didn’t see Malfoy for a year after the trial. When Gin told me that, according to Pansy, he had opened a little posh bakery in Mayfair, I thought she was joking, so I went to see for myself.
Market Saturdays by @sorrybutblog (M, 3k)
In which Harry is an accidental part-time cheesemonger, Draco is an organic farmer and they fall in love. Not an AU.
The Long Fall by @tackytigerfic (M, 3.6k)
It's supposed to be a simple house renovation, and maybe it's just the paint fumes, but Harry is feeling dizzy around Draco Malfoy. And what's the real meaning of family, anyway?
Ice Snakes, Glow-worms and Wolverine Stew by khalulu (M, 8k)
Harry Potter apparently wants to talk to Draco about something, but odd events keep getting in the way of that conversation – and bringing them closer together. Featuring serpentine travels, misbehaving birds, dubious roofing projects, a gay beach, and an unexpected matchmaker.
Life goes not backward by @shealwaysreads (T, 9k)
Harry still isn’t used to gifts, but this one is different. A story of coming home, finding safe ground, and the wild courage of putting down roots.
A Truth Universally Acknowledged by @sorrybutblog (M, 17k)
A year out from the war, Harry agrees to accompany Hermione on a historical walking tour of Pride and Prejudice. Not in the itinerary: running into Draco Malfoy, setting off a summer of stately homes, lavish parties, resentful shagging, and maybe, falling in love.
amid this warm and steady sweetness, orphaned (E, 21k)
Harry is not living in a period drama, no matter what his friends or his new house or Malfoy’s sudden affinity for horse-riding might suggest, and if one more person uses the word courting, he’s going to start hexing people.
💐 Long fic
Moldova's Magical Tea by @aibidil (E, 32k)
Neville Longbottom, Luna Lovegood, and—to everyone’s surprise—Draco Malfoy are opening a magical tea shop to revive wizarding tea culture and, hopefully, to bring the community together after the war. Harry, who is unemployed and trying to find his way in post-war society, wants to help his friends with their new business—but that means spending a lot of time around Malfoy.
Clouds That Veil the Midnight Moon by @drarrytrash (E, 36k)
According to Harry’s personal narrative regarding the incident, he’d hooked up with Draco Malfoy for purely self-destructive reasons, or out of convenience, or by some unlucky accident. Looking at him, sprawled in the moonlight, Harry is devastated to recall that he’d hooked up with Draco Malfoy because he’s hot.
Follow the Water by @xanthippe74 (T, 40k)
Harry Potter’s life is fine. Maybe a little dull and predictable, but he shouldn’t complain about that, right? When he unexpectedly finds himself at Luna’s house one afternoon, Harry gets invited to join the secret wonderland that she’s creating with a surprising group of friends. Maybe a summer outdoors is just what a former hero needs to bring some zest back into his life.
Through the May Air, Over the Ocean by tsauergrass (T, 45k)
Draco Malfoy never expected to find himself in Scotland or being stuck in a cottage with Potter—but wonders never cease. A story about warmth, a story about falling back in love. A story about a flock of sheep in the distant fells of Scotland.
Our Objective Remains Unchanged by @citrusses (E, 46k) - Muggle AU
Harry Potter, returning member of the Oxford University Boat Club, has two goals for the spring of 2005: beat Cambridge, and beat Draco Malfoy. Perhaps not in that order.
Sweeten to Taste by @saintgarbanzo, @babooshkart (E, 51k)
It starts with Draco's buckwheat crepes with honeyed oranges. Or maybe it starts with his porridge with toasted walnuts and homemade apple butter. Or perhaps it starts with the cinnamon buns Draco made from scratch with mascarpone icing. Harry just knows he's hungry for more.
Against All Odds by momatu (E, 54k)
Beauxbatons is hosting the first ever Quidditch Summer School for children from all over Europe, and Harry has promised to enroll Teddy as his birthday present. Meanwhile, Draco is stuck in his office, putting together the first ever Quidditch Summer School for children from all over Europe during, when he should be enjoying summer holidays.
What Branches Grow by @the-fools-errand (M, 55k)
When a run-of-the-mill investigation turns up evidence that the Death Eaters may be resurfacing, Harry seems to be the only one who believes Malfoy has anything to do with it. Yet according to official records, he’s been the poster child for the Ministry’s post-war Rehabilitation program, living in a small muggle town in Wales.
Meet Me at Midnight by @the-starryknight (T, 57k)
Harry was beginning to wonder if he’d ever make anything again when Malfoy stormed through the door of Harry’s furniture shop. Now Harry’s got an impossible Ministry commission to finish, and even less energy than ever to deal with his elusive muse. That is, until he stumbles upon the surreal and beautiful world of a mysterious fae creature…
Stately Homes of Wiltshire by waspabi (E, 58k)
Malfoy Manor has mould, dry rot and an infestation of unusually historical poltergeists. Harry Potter is on the case.
The Promise of Summer by Omi_Ohmy (M, 66k)
How was Harry supposed to know that coming back for eighth year would be so confusing? Everything is the same, and yet not the same. And nowhere is this more obvious than with Draco Malfoy. Harry finds himself once more watching and following Malfoy, trying to work him out. When they are drawn together to heal the castle, Harry doesn’t just find Malfoy - he also finds himself.
Home Truths by @skeptiquewrites and @fantalfart (E, 67k)
In the off-season Harry decided to fix up Grimmauld Place and found that Draco Malfoy was the only person who could help him. A demanding career and unrelenting press scrutiny were enough to deal with before Harry added a house with a mind of its own, family history, and a tense, flirty, complicated relationship with his childhood nemesis to the mix.
The Claiming of Grimmauld Place by @bixgirl1 (E, 74k)
When Grimmauld Place begins fighting against Harry’s ownership of it, he decides he needs help to train the historic home — but little does he expect that it’ll be Malfoy who’s most suitable for the challenge. However, as Malfoy and Harry get closer, Harry comes to understand that expectations aren’t always the best path by which to guide his heart — and in the process learns just what is needed to make a house a home.
Knead by laughingd0g (E, 83k)
This is not a story about Harry renovating Grimmauld Place. This is a story about coffee shops and brewpubs, about Ginny and Luna on a farm with creatures, about magical Oregon, coastal road trips, flying, friendship, and Draco Malfoy's lean arms.
Wild, orphaned (E, 92k)
“No,” Harry said, by way of greeting. Malfoy’s blonde head rose slowly, carelessly. “Get out.” “I feel as though we’ve already established this, Potter,” Malfoy responded. “And I feel that what we established was that you telling me to get out of places really doesn’t make me more likely to vacate them.”
Little Deaths and How to Avoid Them (or Draco Malfoy's Guide to Stop Dying and Start Living Instead) by nerakrose, dustmouth (T, 96k)
Malfoy is way too interested in coroner reports for somebody who's definitely not looking for ways to die, Harry wants to be friends with him, and Ginny wants to break up with Harry.
The Liars Department by @dorthyanndrarry (T, 103k)
This is a story about Harry meeting up with Draco Malfoy four years after the war. And a story about Harry, well, not hating his job per say, but it's not like he has much to compare it to and it seemed fine. His whole life seemed fine. Then Malfoy came along with and his flashy suits and fast car making everything seem dull in comparison, and Harry... Harry couldn't just leave well enough alone.
Any Instrument by @dictacontrion (E, 131k)
Draco Malfoy wouldn't go back to England for anything less than an exceptional case. Being asked to figure out why Harry Potter can't control his magic might be exceptional enough to qualify.

rubbish and the weather
A/N: my first hp universe fic 🥺 i hope somebody enjoys this because i LOVE neville and i LOVE friends to lovers tropes
Pairings: Neville Longbottom x Fem!Reader
Summary: Neville is hiding two things from you: the chest under his bed and his affections for you. 1.5k words
Warnings: fluff, face kisses, friendly teasing/bullying, SICKENING pining, neville being borderline creepy but in a sweet way, cursing, friends to… lovers?
"'Some have begun to question whether or not the Sorting Hat even exists'. Oh, be serious, there's no way anyone would believe this rubbish"—you toss the flimsy tabloid to the foot of the bed, nearly pelting Neville with the busily patterned cover—"Now, if they'd asked, does the Sorting Hat actually sort... well, then I'd have to think about it."
"If you think it's rubbish, then why are you subscribed?"
He doesn't even have to glance up from his almanac to know you're glaring holes through his skull. And you don't have to see the other side of his skull to know that he's borderline laughing at you.
"Oh, and I'm sure what you're reading is much more enlightening. What is this?"—You snatch the thin booklet from his lap, illuminating the soft yellow cover under your suddenly glowing wand—"Last year's Farmers' Almanac?"
"Give me that—I'm trying to follow weather patterns to understand what crops might attract juvenile basilisks to common gardens in order to decrease slug attacks on spring harvests. Are you even listening?" he whines, smacking your calf with the booklet as you reach for a worn quill and a shred of parchment.
"Mhm! Baby basilisks, slug attacks, harvests, got it!" you coo, scribbling across the paper flattened against the headboard of his bed.
"What are you doing?"
"Nothing, plant boy! Go back to reading."
"Actually, I prefer plantsman, thank you very much."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever you say, plant boy."
He turns his back to you again, sitting criss-cross on the edge of the bed, hunched over as he scans the pages for keywords and uncommon patterns.
You shift across the bed, draping one arm over Neville's shoulder and dropping the slip of paper into his lap. Your head rests on his other shoulder while he picks at the edges of the piece and ignores the fire in his face.
"For me?" he says, holding it in his palms like it could rip at any second. Like he'll blink and it'll turn to shreds in his fingers.
"It's your little basilisk"—you run your fingertip along the bottom corner where a tiny, overly worried snake sits looking up at a gigantic slug with sharp teeth that towers over him and his tomato plant—"I don't know how he's going to defend his crops this spring."
You blow a puff of air against the back of his neck, chuckling when he startles and slips the comic into the breast pocket of his pajamas.
"So you were listening after all," he teases, turning over his shoulder to find you splayed out across the bed, face buried in his pillows, arms outstretched like you're reaching for something. He wants to reach back. He wants this kind of view for the rest of his life, if only from afar.
You mumble something into the fluff and shriek when he grabs for your ankle.
"Can't hear all your whining through the bedding."
When you look at him, he thinks he could die. Your eyes sparkle in the dim and awfully warm lightning. If he's lucky, you'll brush off all of his feverish blushing as some sort of medical condition. But he's never been very lucky which is why he reaches for the back of his neck when you grin and roll over.
"I wasn't whining, I was saying—"
Light floods the room as the door flaps open to a few familiar faces that look like they've seen a ghost. You spring out of Neville's bed and gather your supplies. He feels a buzzing in his palms that begs him to beg you to stay. But it's against the rules. Even more so than your presence alone in the boys' dorms.
"I guess that's my cue to leave," you chirp, saluting to the quartet of boys shuffling through the doorway with wide eyes and shy smiles.
"Goodnight, Neville."
You kiss his cheek, patting his shoulder and flitting back through the door with one last wave. Neville sighs and tosses his almanac aside, swinging his legs off the side of the bed before he hears a chorus of high-pitched teasing:
"Goodnight, Neville! I love you, Neville!" Not to mention the kissing sounds and squeaky sighs from the group of Gryffindor imbeciles.
He would never admit it out loud, but even imagining you professing your love for him gives him butterflies. His heart races at the thought of your voice wrapped around the sweet words, your lips forming the dewy syllables just right. But he rolls his eyes and groans, settling across his mattress and forgetting the drawing in his pocket.
...
You'd been wandering around the boys' dormitories in your house sweater, humming the song that played in the pub down the road. Usually you invade Neville's space to study or catch up on tabloids, but tonight you're restless. His quill is flicking away at a sheet of classwork he forgot about until the last minute.
As you press your fingertips to each quilt stitch and dresser decoration, you notice a piece of metal gleaming at you from underneath his bed. A sharp corner protrudes from the edge; it belongs to a small brown leather chest buckled in brass and blooming with rust.
"What's this?" you coo, holding the chest across both of your palms, nudging his calf with your foot and grinning mischievously down at him. And he looks genuinely scared. Pale as a ghost and scrambling after you as you take off across the room with elated giggles and chirps.
"No—no! Give that back, it's personal!" he whines, panting as you bound over one of the beds and curl your arms around the box.
"What's yours is mine, Longbottom! Come on, whatever it is can't be that bad—"
He grabs the back of your sweater like the scruff of a puppy, dragging you backwards and knocking you off kilter. He nearly catches the chest with his hands, but you duck out of reach and jump onto his bed before he can get to you again.
"Tell me, what on Earth could Neville Longbottom be hiding—"
His heart stops when you flick open the latch and toss the lid wide. Then your smile falls.
You finger over the contents of the chest, scraps of parchment and ink fill it to its brim. They nearly spill over the edges when you plop down onto his mattress with the chest in your lap.
Your mouth opens and closes with revelation and awe. Each page is one of your spontaneously dorky animations. Spiky creatures and demon garden spawn and caricatures of Professor Snape litter the pile. They're all drawings you remember, each connects to a moment between the two of you.
Neville takes a deep breath and doesn't dare step closer, "It's not what it looks like—"
"You kept them?" you whisper, looking up at him in shock, "All of them?"
You're still flipping through the stack when he shrugs with a worrisome smile.
"...Yes."
You pause. You pause and take a sharp breath in because he's never sounded so sure in a word. You do a double take at one of the sketches. He sits on the edge of the bed, wringing his hands and glancing over at you anxiously.
"Neville"—and here it comes, he thinks, creepy, perverted, obsessive, and those sorts of things. And you wouldn't be wrong. But then he thinks he might be wrong. Because you set the box aside and spring toward him like a goddamn panther, landing him flat on the floor with a groan.
"That's adorable!
Your wet lips find his cheek and the rest of his face, hands wound into the collar of his sleep shirt as you leer down at him with a grin.
"I didn't think anyone paid attention to those stupid things."
"Well. I do," he huffs.
"I can see that, you sicko!" you shriek, "You better thank your lucky stars I'm so nice. Any other girl would've sent you right to Snape for being so perverted and creepy."
Called it.
"That's why I did it to you, not some other girl."
He doesn't know what to do with his hands, and you go shy thinking you might've crossed a line. Maybe you got too excited, flew too close to the sun, lips too close to his own. But the closeness had felt nice, and you want to make him blush like that forever.
"So you're saying it's not because I'm the prettiest girl at Hogwarts."
And you bat your lashes, pouting and leaving him weak in the knees. With your palms on his chest and you leaning closer, he's tempted to admit he's taken with you. To admit he's loved you since first year. To admit you are the prettiest girl at Hogwarts and in London and the rest of Europe. Forget the world, you're his.
"I never said that," Neville mumbles. It’s the closest he'll ever get to a real confession. At least this year.

@hprecfest I wanted to do this and made my first rec list :)
1. A favorite fic under 5k: Still Life (Drarry, E, 3k)
No summary given.
2. A comfort fic : Orange Blossoms @danpuff-ao3 (Snarry, T, 4k)
These are foolish times to have hope, and more foolish still to be in love.
3. A podfic : Deadheading the Odd Dahlia @cailynwrites (Drarry, T, 1.5 hours)
Harry is content to spend his days at Draco’s flower stall at the farmers market, burying his true feelings in artisanal coffee and rose bouquets. When forced to find new lodgings, he accepts Draco’s offer to live in a cottage at Malfoy Manor, and his long-hidden crush blossoms out of control. Turns out, proximity makes the heart grow fonder.
4. A fic with art: The Curse of Anteros @danpuff-ao3 @mrviran (Snarry, E, 53k)
When Harry is cursed, he seeks out Severus Snape. They have a long history behind them, after all, and they've always had so much between them. Who else would he go to?
5. A non-AO3 fic : If You Are Prepared (Snarry, E, 193k)
A task he can't refuse. A boy he doesn't want to refuse.
6. An unreliable narrator fic : Heartbeat by @phantomato (Tomarrymort, Harry/Orion, E, 23k)
Harry, dumped into the past, communes with dangerous men.
7. A canon-compliant fic : Rapture by @mia-ugly (Snarry, E, 48k)
Snape sees the man, for the first time, on his twenty-fifth birthday.
8. A canon-divergence fic : Certain Dark Things by @liladiurne (Snarry, E, 50k)
In which Severus takes a trip to Italy, thinking he'll have a quiet time at the Malfoys' villa, but Harry has other plans.
9. A rare pair fic (less than 2000 fics on AO3) : The Sword of Gryffindor (Sneville, E, 58k)
“Do you feel strong hitting me?” Neville spits out. He doesn’t think he’s ever been this angry before, but there’s something else too. He wants to feel it again, the pain, wants to control it like he did last time. This isn’t like Amycus Carrow driving his wand into his shoulder blades while whispering about his parents, this isn’t sitting scared in a school bench while his sister rants about muggles with a crazy glint in her eye. A choice. He’s in control here, he can take it. “Do it again you fucking coward.”
10. A fest fic : Not All That Glisters by @sweet-s0rr0w (Drarry, E, 110k)
Lonely and frustrated on house arrest, with no prospects for the future, Draco begins brewing Felix Felicis in an attempt to improve his lot. Just in the short term, of course. He isn’t a total idiot. But before long he finds himself with a thriving business, a nice flat, some actual (albeit irritatingly Gryffindor) friends, and a very satisfying sex life. What’s more, no-one is hexing him in the street. And Harry Potter is single, and gorgeous, and giving Draco decidedly interested looks. Stop taking the Felix? You must be joking…
11. A dark fic : Frigid by @mrviran (Harrymort, E, 3k)
In which one of Voldemort's Horcruxes is broken, and needs to be fixed.
12. A WIP you’re following : Pacify by @chickenpets (Snarry, E, ongoing)
Pacify: 1. To allay the anger or agitation of 2. To reduce to a submissive state He would do his duty. He would save Draco, if he could. He would protect the students, if and when the school fell to the Deatheaters. And Potter. As far as he was concerned, Potter could have whatever he wanted, now. What was the point of trying to tell him no if he was going to be sacrificed on the pyre of the greater good? If Potter wanted to learn, Severus would be his teacher. If he wanted a master, then Severus would make him submit. And if he wanted a lover... well. Severus would love him. And that was it. Anything else was a waste of time. And there was so little of that.
13. A fic with over 100k words : Another Mask Behind You (Drarry, E, 116k)
Draco is a high-end prostitute who hides his identity. Harry unknowingly hires him. And then there is porn, questions about identity, domestic bliss, more porn, and truth as seen through a web of lies. (And then more porn. Seriously, if you don’t want sex scene after sex scene you probably shouldn’t read this. And please read the warnings.)
14. A favorite series : Love Your Enemy by @danpuff-ao3 (Snarry, E, 50k)
Love...hate...Harry and Severus definitely hate each other (if only because they love each other so much.)
15. The most recent fic you bookmarked : Everything We Dream Can be Real by @vdoshu (Tomarry, E, 51k)
Harry had a life after Voldemort. He had a family. He had a career. And then one day it was all ripped away when he woke up at Number 4 Privet Drive. Or: Where Harry doesn’t exactly get that chance to do it over again. And things are Not Okay.
16. A fic that made you laughed: Harry Potter and the Problem with Potions (Harry & Snape, T, 184k)
Once upon a time, Harry Potter hid for two hours from Dudley in a chemistry classroom, while a nice graduate student explained about the scientific method and interesting facts about acids. A pebble thrown into the water causes ripples. Contains, in no particular order: magic candymaking, Harry falling in love with a house, evil kitten Draco Malfoy, and Hermione attempting to apply logic to the wizarding world.
17. A fic that made you cry: Epitaphs in Autographs by @vukovich (Drarry, E, 7k)
A series of works surrounding death, imperfect relationships, flawed coping, and humanity.
18. A fairy-tale inspired fic : Two Lockets (Snarry, E, 57k)
Harry, Snape, and the grim old house that keeps its secrets.
19. Fic with the hottest smut: Ruin by @chickenpets (Snarry, E, 12k)
Severus didn’t even want to contemplate how quickly he’d crumbled, or how incredibly satisfying it felt to have Potter immobilized and powerless that way. Because the boy he had under his fist right then was not the same one that had barged into his lab demanding attention and slinging insults. This boy was… different. He was silent, and wide-eyed. Flushed, and panting, and very, very still. It was almost like alchemy. The Golden Brat of Hogwarts - the Chosen One - transformed instantly into this new apparition. He’d gotten what he wanted, Severus supposed. Brutality.
20. A fic rated G: The Son by @perverse-idyll (Regulus, G, 5k)
First there were two sons. Then there was one.
21. A thought-provoking fic : The Things We Need by @kbrick (Drarry, E, 25k)
Three hundred and fifty-three days out of the year, Harry is in a monogamous, fufilling relationship with Draco Malfoy. Then there are the other twelve days.
22. An unfinished fic (hasn’t updated in 10 years or author stated it been abandoned) : The Marriage Stone (Snarry, E, 382k)
To avoid the machinations of the Ministry, Harry must marry a reluctant Severus Snape. But marriage to Snape is only the beginning of Harry's problems. Voldemort has returned, and before too long Harry's marriage may determine the world's fate.
23. A soulmate fic : The Left Words (Harrymort, M, 234k)
Harry has some weird words on his left wrist. That must be one of those strange things that Aunt Petunia hates so much. But it's okay! He likes them. Then, it all turns even weirder. Hogwarts, magic, a Headmaster and a Dark Lord await Harry - he would prefer if they all just left him alone, thank you very much. But when has it ever mattered what Harry wants?
24. A holiday fic: All I Want for Christmas (is for You to Stop Talking) by @femmequixotic and noeon (Drarry, E, 162k)
The Niffler's Garden is the most prestigious wizarding nursery school in England and has been for the last century or more. Harry Potter's boys are both enrolled as pupils at the Garden. When he volunteers to assist with the Yule pageant, he has no idea that he'll be working closely with another parent, Draco Malfoy. Although they haven't seen each other much since their own school days, Harry faults Malfoy for not being a hands-on dad to little Scorpius. Will the intense weeks of preparation fan the fires of enmity or something else entirely?
25. A fic rated T: Altered Course by @crowcrowcrowthing (Tomarry, T, 12k)
Tom Riddle has a problem. He has so many plans, so many things to learn and accomplish during his time at Hogwarts, but one professor—one charming, talented, maddeningly handsome professor—is determined to get in his way. How does Professor Potter seem to anticipate Tom's every move? How does he always manage to stay several steps ahead, knowing secrets about Tom he has no right knowing? It’s simply unacceptable, and Tom needs to do something about it before everything is ruined.
26. A fic with an ending you can’t stop thinking about : Nocturne by @necromanticnoir (Snarry, E, 54k)
A Gothic Snarry version of ‘Beauty and the Beast’, inspired by the dark and sensual tale from the Czech film version, ‘Panna a Netvor’. I follow some of the plot, but then diverge and do my own thing. Got to make it even weirder, right? An eerie, erotic, brooding, bloody, batty, haunting fairytale. ‘Underneath my skin there’s a human. Buried deep within there’s a human. Despite everything, I’m still human.’ - ‘Human’ by Daughter
27. A Muggle-AU fic : with great outbursts and lightnings by @liladiurne (Snarry, E, 148k)
They stand there for a moment, just looking at each other. Harry has developed smoking to an art form that fascinates Severus. Everyone smokes in Paris, but he’s never taken up the habit himself. Watching Harry smoke, however, is strangely erotic. It feels like watching something that ought to be done in private. He wants to say something, anything, but he’s speechless. He’s a bloody poet, and here he is, standing speechless in front of a nineteen-year-old boy. March, 2013. In which Severus is a semi-famous poet with writer's block who moves back to London after the death of his lover and meets Harry, a prodigy struggling with his own demons.
28. An under-rated fic : An Eye for an Eye (Drapery, E, 42k)
Harry owes Draco a Life Debt.
29. A post-canon fic : Soup-pocalypse and the Great Curry Cataclysm (Drarry, E, 104k)
Eleven years after the war, Draco Malfoy leads a quiet, boring, and perfectly respectable life, thanks very much. Or, at least he does, until a sudden and very unexpected veela awakening causes him to throw soup all over Harry Potter in the middle of the Ministry cafeteria.
30. A pre-canon fic : He's just a Little Fixer-Upper (Snilch, E, 10k)
After Voldemort's first defeat, Snape's grief and guilt are overwhelming, and he starts thinking about ending it all. But there's someone in the castle who's been watching Snape since he was a child, someone determined to put him back together again.
31. A fav amongst favs: for this I have 1 for my 3 favorite ships :)
Wild (Drarry, E, 92k)
“No,” Harry said, by way of greeting. Malfoy’s blonde head rose slowly, carelessly. “Get out.” “I feel as though we’ve already established this, Potter,” Malfoy responded. “And I feel that what we established was that you telling me to get out of places really doesn’t make me more likely to vacate them.”

The Aurors' Draught
The Aurors' Draught https://ift.tt/Xekim7c by BeesAgenda When the DMLE Auror Protection Unit brings both Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy on board for a ground-breaking project, they are forced to work together. Which is fine. They are adults. They share a social group. They were almost friends in Eighth Year... right? At any rate, they are perfectly capable of teamwork, thank you very much. If only Malfoy wasn't the most indolent, smug bastard known to the Wizarding World. And if only Granger could pause her lecturing long enough to somehow remove the beater bat from her delightfully perky arse. Words: 38, Chapters: 1/?, Language: English Fandoms: Harry Potter - J. K. WIP: The OCs of "Out of the Chrysalis"
So the fic I'm currently doing for HLAW...is a "Hana tries speed dating courtesy of Maxwell" fic in my P&Tverse haha, because I didn't want to have her plunging into her One Big Romance before getting the space to figure out who she is, sexuality wise, and finding a community of sorts.
One hc I always had was that Maxwell figured out Hana was interested in women by the time they became friends, and basically wanted her to have the experience of dating. He's a guy who winds up remaining friends with his exes, so he definitely talks to them and the people Hana secretly dates (because she's part of Madeleine's court and expected to catch a suitor the regular way) during the Applewood-Italy-Paris leg of the tour are either people he has dated before, or friends of people he has dated and is still friends with. Or just friends. Basically, people he trusts.
Along with being bi I hc her as demisexual, so this fic is about her discovering that too. So five of these people she dates, and two of them she basically has very illuminating conversations with.
So here goes! OC character sheets under the cut
Bethany James
Faceclaim: Vidya Vox
From: Cormery Isle originally, but now lives in Applewood
Pronouns & Sexuality: she/her, lesbian
Profession: Runs a bakery
Headcanons:
• is a friend of someone Maxwell dated during a stay at Applewood.
• a tiny bit of her story is mentioned in "It Takes A Village", about Kiara's coming-out. She is the girl Kiara speaks to at an art exhibition at the end of that fic.
• Bethany left Cormery Isle with a friend, sensing what she was experiencing was different to what other peers seemed to be experience (she'd find out eventually that some of them were bi and equally scared as her). She was only 16 then. She came to Castelserraillan which was always hailed as a VERY safe space for the Cordonian LGBTQ community in general, and had a really, really memorable experience during their Pride Month.
• She moved to Applewood at the age of 20. Loves the farming community and tries to support local farmers there with a pie festival in the autumn months.
• Like most people everywhere, cannot stand Lord Neville Vancouer.
Angel Diaz
Faceclaim: Kehlani Parris
From: Applewood
Pronouns and Sexuality: they/them, pansexual
Profession: Tattoo artist
Headcanons:
• In my hcs Maxwell has a better hippo tattoo now coz I decided to make this character his tattoo artist, and there is NO WAY I'm going to have them be the face behind that awful clipart excuse of a canon tattoo.
This is P&T!Maxwell's tattoo btw:
Has the right amount of goofy, just not lazily done. But whatever, Maxwell got the clipart one as a teen but upgraded it to this one with Angel's encouragement and skills. He's still a bit embarrassed to show it because what will Bertrand say!
• Angel was always a gifted artist, and their parents enrolled them on scholarship at Castelserraillan's premium University for Fine Arts. But it was there that they got fascinated with tattoo art. It gave their parents quite the shock when they made that their profession and it took them a few years to come around to the idea.
• Like Bethany, Angel was also part of the queer scene early on - but because they were actually staying there they could get involved in the community.
• Maxwell and Angel did briefly date.
• Angel loves to dance. You need an eager person to do crazy spins for a flashmob? They're there.
Andrea Melis
Faceclaim: Alessandro Mahmood
From: Sardinia. Born to a Sardinian father and an Egyptian mother. Currently stays in Capri.
Pronouns and Sexuality: he/him, bisexual
Profession: Translator
Headcanons:
• Knows a variety of languages. Italian, Spanish, Arabic, German, French being just a few of them.
• Mostly translates books. His favourite project so far was translating a food memoir by a famous food writer from Domvallier, Cordonia, from English and Arabic to a couple other languages.
• Has developed a YouTube channel to introduce beginners to Italian and Arabic, since those are the languages he knows most intimately.
• He and Maxwell hoped to be serious in their early 20s, but it didn't work out. Took a while before they could get back to their vibes as friends again but they are now at a good place with each other platonically.
Noèmie Dubois
Faceclaim: Agathe Bonitzer
From: Paris.
Pronouns and Sexuality: she/her, bisexual aromantic
Profession: Boutique owner
Headcanons:
• Loves wearing black
• Loves car racing
• Has two moms. Came out as a teen to her moms first.
• Most people know her as a very chilled out person. Very relaxed.
• Dated Maxwell casually a couple years back, but realized Maxwell and her friend Helene were unknowingly catching feelings for each other, so gently veered him in her direction 😂 Worked out well for all three of them.
Hugo Lefevre
Faceclaim: François Arnaud
From: Loire, but stays in Paris.
Pronouns and Sexuality: he/him, pansexual
Profession: Museum curator but used to be a tour guide in his early days.
Headcanons:
• Majored in art history
• Shy and a bit of a loner
• Was a tour guide who helped Maxwell once when he was lost in Paris on a tour the court was talking. They've been friends and trusted confidantes to each other ever since.
• Loves stargazing
• Isn't out as such except to a few people. Is more comfortable that way. Doesn't like socializing much, which makes the friendship with Maxwell a real surprise. Idea of a perfect night is to sit alone in front of a fireplace with a glass of wine. He doesn't have a fireplace as such right now, so a good glass of wine will do.
--
These last two are not people Maxwell knows, but are essential to Hana's journey to discovering who she really is, romance wise.
Robin Zhou
Faceclaim: Jess Tom
From: Shanghai, but they and their folks moved to San Francisco when they were younger.
Pronouns and Sexuality: They/them, bisexual
Profession: Professional chef, hosts dinners and parties. Does cooking classes in European cuisine on the weekends.
Headcanons:
• They went to culinary school in the States but travelled back on an all-China tour that lasted a year because they felt they didn't know their home cuisine well enough.
• They know Hana's cousin, Chuntao. She took a cooking class with them and wound up loving it.
• Frequents a bar named Roxie. This is where Hana will meet them in the fic.
Doralis Perez
Faceclaim: Elizabeth Acevedo
From: Brooklyn, born to Dominican-American parents.
Pronouns and Sexuality: she/her, lesbian
Profession: Was teaching for a while, but hopes to do her Ph.D one day. Currently works at the Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation.
Headcanons:
• Remember the college friend the MC talks about when she mentions the Ramen Incident of Senior Year? That's Doralis.
• Esther and Dora were batchmates and roommates in university
• She was promised a shitload of ramen to call in that favour for Liam
• Esther never got the time to do that, obviously, but she did request her aunt Vivienne to keep that promise in her stead
• Many things Esther knows - as a cishet woman - about sexualities and being an ally, she knows through her time with Dora and their circle of friends at University.
• Dora came out to all their friends by the end of their time at University. It wasn't very easy for her initially, but the environment was such that you had multiple support groups for queer and closeted people there.
• Esther was very much a part of that journey as a close friend who lived with her. That experience also informed how she handled Hana's coming out when she returned.
• Dora loves doing craft activities and has a blog full of fun, innovative and simple craft projects for kids and their parents.

Severus grumbled as he marched to the Portkey Office for his next Order assignment: checking up on Sirius Black. Of course, the bastard had to hide on a tropical island, and Professor Lupin was nowhere to be found, so the task fell to him. He knew Albus was having a little laugh back in his cozy office at Severus' expense. Albus had claimed it would be a lovely holiday with an infuriating sparkle in his eye, making Severus want to hex the imbecilic glasses off his face. However, by the end of the weekend, Severus was considering sending the man an extra large batch of lemon sherbets.

The concept of the farmer's market was something that the whole of the Wizarding World in the United Kingdom had stolen from the Muggle World and everyone quickly fell in love with the idea. The farmer's market currently resided down the high street of Diagon Alley and was the perfect time for all of the families that were shopping for the new year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. How does your WoL/OC relate to the culture of their species as established in lore? Do they consider themselves a typical example of their kind? Are they in touch with their heritage? How does this affect their interactions with others of their own kind?
@mimble-sparklepudding also asked this!
Both Yloise and Vallerin are pretty separated from what the game considers to be the typical Duskwight experience (Black Shroud, reviled as criminals, disposable mercenary adds, etc) - they were born and raised in La Noscea, in a village comprised mostly of Seawolf farmers. Their primary understanding of their culture comes initially through their mother, Hersande, who comes from the perspective of being a Gridanian foundling with only tenuous ties to Gelmorran Duskwights, and later through their patroness, Mdm. De Neville.
Hersande raised her children with a fairytale version of Duskwight culture, partially through stories by famed Ciw Morran writer Iolanthe Raas and partly from the poetry and stories recited by Julien (Yloise and Vallerin's father). Hersande herself took her surname 'Coneillants' from an old legend about an early Gelmorran hero. The children took these tales and wrapped them into the stories they heard from their neighbors and developed an elaborate mythos of pirates, bandit kings, magic underground lakes, giant glowing ram-shaped ghosts, and evil elementals.
Hersande's patroness, Mdm. De Neville, is herself a Duskwight - but one of Meracydian heritage, a direct descendant of the famous navigator who founded La Noscea. Mdm. De Neville and her children support Gelmorran cultural pursuits, including sponsoring and funding students and guild apprentices. Hersande is a recipient of these grants (in her case, to establish cash crops such as lavender in Halfstone's notoriously difficult soil), and due to both their physical proximity and similarity of their children's ages, Mdm. De Neville often invited Hersande and her children to visit the ancestral manor.
After the Calamity, Mdm. De Neville takes Yloise in as a governess for her youngest children until Yloise is ready to pursue her path as a chirurgeon. Her elder children invite Vallerin to work alongside them on their excavation of Issom Har.
Vallerin, having lived in Gridania, is much more aware of the reputation that Duskwights have in the city (and his harrowing experiences with Foulques and the Lancer's Guild has embittered him to Gridania at large), and he's very much taken an interest in traditional Duskwight culture (to the point of getting an actual tattoo instead of just mimicking the ones he saw in the books, like Yloise still does on occasion). He's *very* defensive of Issom Har but still skeptical of the Redbelly Wasps.
Yloise, on the other hand, is still romantic about the entire thing, including the agenda of the more radical Wasps, and maintains a cordial relationship with them due to her friendship with Dariustel Sompt through the Scions. She's a bit oblivious to the entire dynamic of Wildwood and Duskwight tensions and feels like a tourist on occasion (particularly to Ciw Morra).
(there's. a lot here to say about their father julien who is both actively alive and a gelmorran revolutionary and propagandist who was imprisoned for two decades on false charges but escaped from spirithold in the calamity but i have already written a lot here AND his position in the story has always been Very Nebulous anyway)
a thousand thanks to @mythandral for further Duskwight world building because god knows Square Enix isn't going to do it

OMG HANNAH MICHIEL HUISMAN HAS BEEN LIVING AS HARRY POTTER RENT FREE IN MY HEAD EVER SINCE AGE OF ADALINE AND GOT! You did not just cast him as Neville!
I am on a mission to find you someone even hotter now. Blake’s a cutie but he’s too happy. I need broody, angry, annoyed Harry who’s face only lights up when Ginny is there. We need someone with a dark, edgy, need to drop my panties right now look.
For all those haters who say Harry isn’t that good looking a quote from COS:
“There are strange likenesses between us, Harry Potter. Even you must have noticed. Both half-bloods, orphans, raised by Muggles. Probably the only two Parselmouths to come to Hogwarts since the great Slytherin himself. We even look something alike.” This was Tom’s way of telling him your kinda hot like me Harry. Throw in fresh picked green eyes... Like come on the man was oozing sexiness he just didn’t know it and wasn’t conceded. Would it have been better if he was looking in the mirror everyday and repeating “Fuck Potter your hot, with your sexy messy hair that looks like you just had a good shag, and striking green eyes, ya the world is lucky to have such a sexy bloke their their presence”??? No, we like our humble Harry who doesn’t know how gorgeous he is.
ok WAIT because there are several things i need to address..
FIRST MICHIEL HUSIMAN HAS SUCH DISTINCT ENGLISH FARMER ENERGY HES SUCH A GOOD ADULT NEVILLE!!
i mean look at him!?!??!! he’s got dimples for christ’s sake!!
secondly we all know i’ve been on a tpfy next gen kick and in my search for dad!harry i stumbled across this guy. the only annoying thing is trying to photoshop glasses onto him which i’ve mostly given up trying.
which is why i keep coming back to blake because HES ALREADY GOT THE MESS HAIR AND THE GLASSES IN THE PICTURE
my pinterest algorithm is slowly starting to give me some variety on my homepage and i try to go down the rabbit hole as much as possible in search for the perfect Guy(TM)
xavier serrano does it for me sometimes
but alas the search for the perfect harry fan cast continues. i am sisyphus. doomed to scroll endlessly with no inspiration or progress to speak of

William was impressed by how much Neville had achieved. On his deathbed, he gave Neville his blessing to move on and leave the family home. Neville gave the farm to a local orphan boy who had worked as a farmhand for him and decided to shift from being a flower farmer, to a flower merchant. He moved with Maude to Windenburg, but also began travelling across England selling his wares. Over these trips, he and Maude would stay in a local pub. That was how Neville met Dodie.
The two of them had instant sexual chemistry, but very different personalities. Dodie was carefree and easy-going and would often playfully mock Neville for how seriously he took everything. Neville was frustrated by how ambitionless Dodie seemed to be. One fiery argument led to a fiery night together.
The next morning, Neville was ashamed of his dishonourable behaviour, while Dodie didn’t care in the slightest. Neville insisted that they marry and refused to risk his reputation and business over this incident. Dodie refused, saying that no-one had caught them.
Neville was terrified at the thought of someone having caught them or Dodie becoming pregnant - he felt sure that the only way to be safe was for them to marry immediately. He bribed the musician who had performed at the pub on that night - Aldous - to claim that he had witnessed Dodie and Neville together; the lie worked, and Dodie agreed to marriage to protect their reputations.

one shot: meet cute at the farmer's market
♢ meet cute at the farmer's market
written for HP Fruit Fest 2023
relationship: Neville Longbottom x Pansy Parkinson
rating: general audiences
synopsis: Pansy Parkinson strolled throughout the local farmer's market, a wicker basket on her arm and a cute flowy summer dress around her body with her naked, newly tanned legs out on the show. However, what Pansy hadn't expected was to find a tall and rugby-built Neville Longbottom running a stall and being the exact image of what Pansy's ideal partner was.
