A Krux x Vex AU

Guess we've both changed huh little Brother? You married happily me now settled happily into the Never Realm with the Formling's with a partner of my own.

I have started a sketch of what Krux looks like in human form after several years in the Never Realm with the Formlings. Then Shock-tastic sketched their animal forms

In this AU and major deviation from Canon Krux meets Vex after the Iron Doom crashes having spun out of control when the blade was removed and thus landed in the Never Realm.

Acronix left Krux absolutely fed up and done with his twin brother he had been yanked from Cyrus Acronix found the travellers tree and returned to Cyrus in Ninjago, but in this moment Krux realized his mistakes he had shoved his last family member and his own brother away.

Along the way Krux meets Vex.

After deep soul searching and healing that took years they decided to rejoin Vexes Tribe The Formlings,

Vex finally having gotten rid of the hatred fixes the Formless thing with Krux beside him, Krux is an Artic Fox and then Vex is a Weasel because no matter how much soul searching he does his natural personality is still slippery and mischievous but no longer in a I'm going to be vengeful sort of way.

Krux is intelligent sly and cunning like an Artic Fox.

Nevertime is the ship name I have come up with for these two

the deadlines for books 2 and 3, which had seemed like ludicrous far-off nevertimes, are suddenly VERY REAL

occasional bouts of paralysing anxiety about what I put on twitter, alternating with guilt that I barely use instagram and looked at tiktok once before running away

I have had a series of carefully-navigated conversations with my LOVELY and WELL-MEANING coworkers at both of my dayjobs, in which they tell me all about their intent to buy the book to support me and visions of all the sex scenes flash luridly behind my eyelids, and then I remember that plausible deniablity exists and there's no fucking way they'll ever bring it up first, and a sale is a sale, and I thank them courteously for their support

but mostly, and truthfully, it's been amazing. I feel incredibly lucky.

Buffy travels to the picturesque town of Bozeman, MT to assist a slayer contingent, and discovers a highly organized crime syndicate terrorizing the tourists, with plenty of muscle and a pesky aversion to sunlight. And it's there, she finds--much to her surprise--a familiar face also working the case, very much alive (though thankfully not on fire).

Once upon a time... ...or perhaps in this one, where the world has yet to grow with population and industry. Where a little cottage in the middle of a cold, frozen forest is the home of one Buffy Summers. Her surroundings are vacant, her life calm and filled with work and minimal play, but that's true for most people. She doesn't mind living this life, or doing so quite far from town. The place never felt very big when she resided there with her parents, and now she calls a different place home. When her grandmother passed on the cottage became Buffy's alone, though it should be said she tries to walk the same wooded path. Following her family's teachings to earn a living, even if she couldn't practice what talents they had cherished and honed, is precisely what brings her to the edge of a man's wintry deathbed. A pale, blue eyed stranger with white hair and no prayer for survival, unless she helps him.

World Enough, and Time by toooldforthis [R]

“You came back wrong,” he told her, all those years ago. He was right, but it took them a very long time to realise exactly what that meant. It meant a hundred more apocalypses, a thousand battles. It meant a journey, a prophecy, a war. They’d lose one other, and find their way back, and choose, again and again. And all the while, the earth was failing.

There are a lot more people than you think who are here for the long haul – like, the really long haul. This is a story about two of them.

additional thoughts about this:

i might either nix build images or stitch the two competitors together somehow. i've noticed an occasional tendency where the first-image competitor in a bracket sweeps because they're the "poster child" of that round

one thing i would actually really love to do is set up a round-robin tournament, so people's favorite builds never actually get knocked out of the competition -- they just get progressively more accurately ranked. i think this would probably sap a little of the vitriol, too.

it would also allow for late entries to be sorted; i could just add polls to the bracket containing them. need to find some sort of program that lets me collate all of this, though.

i get to make a tagging system from scratch! yay :D

i am putting The Clocktower from Twitch SMP on the bracket and neither god nor man can stop me. probably also at least two different Avid Adventures builds, the meeting-room from Deceit S1, and maybe even the Town of Nevertime if i feel cheeky

if i have time i might draw gijinkas. this is mostly an excuse to draw singe (the preeminent red sun humanization), who ive not drawn ever and frankly i miss the days of

genuinely very tempted to make a Really Narratively Fucked Up MCRP Locations bracket so that pandora's vault can start fighting things on its own narrative level. stuff like the desert flatworld in redstoner, the in-between from tales from the smp, the ghost's vault from dominion, the well from witch in the woods, the farlands, statistically at least three locations from redacted smp, the jungle from hermitcraft s5 and/or area 77 from hermitcraft s6, the yoglabs cloning sector, The Pit from secret rivals, the roothouse, forge's prison basement in the game of thrones scenario, the betweenlands, limbo from dimensional doors, et cetera

my only worry is if people could manage to be civil about it, yanno? like i want people analyzing the SHIT outta these places not just saying "it's not that deep," and i want people engaging in good faith and enthusiasm for their own personal world's most fucked up place in all of minecraft and its narrative and thematic implications on the broader story it resides within. i want pretentiousness with excitement and bright starry eyes, not people slamming each other for having different faves
