My version of Monster High G3 (part 1)
These are a work in progress, and there are definitely more to come! It does take me several hours to complete one drawing simply because I want to put my love and dedication into my designs, and I want each character’s personality and story to be reflected in their look. Please enjoy ⚡️🧠🐾
More in-depth descriptions under the cut!
⚡️Frankie Stein (They/Them)⚡️
Frankie’s personality in G3 is very energetic and quite literally electric. They have dreams of becoming a monster surgeon, and they also enjoy STEM activities such as building gadgets and attachments to their body. In my design I wanted to give them a unique, almost neon-punk mad scientist, style. I feel like Frankie finds reflecting their unique identity in their self-expression to be very important. I kept their gender identity and sexuality pretty canon to the show because I think it’s amazing to see for a main character. Also as a neurodivergent person I see myself in Frankie and their personality a lot, which is why in my version they are absolutely neurodiverse in some way.
Flags/Symbols Included: Neurodivergent infinity symbol, non-binary flag, lesbian flag
🧠Ghoulia Yelps (She/They)🧠
I know there’s a lot of dislike for Ghoulia’s new character in G3, but honestly I really do like seeing her being portrayed as a gamer ghoul type nerd versus being a numbers and tech nerd like in G1. I think her character design needs a bit of work though. In my design she’s kind of a more realistic gamer in terms of dress I feel like, and also has a bit of edge as well. I headcanon them as being slightly emo and it shows in their style hence the classic beanie, plugs, converse, and hoodie/t-shirt combo. And I feel like she’s the type to wear strictly pajama pants and sweatpants due to sensory reasons (jeans are evil), but they usually have some kind of graphic patterns on them! I feel like a good aspiration for them would be learning how to code and create video games. I could also see them enjoying animation as well, potentially incorporating their own animations into games. Also, I’m taking away the skater ghoul aspect completely just because I think the animation and video game/coding hobby is a lot more interesting!
Flags/Symbols Included: Neurodivergent infinity symbol, bisexual flag, demisexual flag.
🐾Clawdeen Wolf (She/They)🐾
Clawdeen’s character revamp in G3 is another controversial one that I see the fandom divided on as well. A lot of people miss her glamorous and fierce style, while others embrace the change. I personally adore Clawdeen’s new look, and I definitely leaned into it in my version. I felt like I just had to make her a tumblr ghoul. Idk what the Monster High equivalent of Tumblr would be, but she’d definitely be on there with blogs about books, following fan fiction tags, and aesthetic mood boards and photos. I totally get those vibes from the OG design, but I needed to see them in a beanie, flannel, tattoo choker, distressed/cuffed skinny jeans, doc martens. I also just had to give her the galaxy wolf shirt her doll outfits always have a celestial theme and galaxy print was THE shit.
Flags/Symbols Included: Unlabeled flag, queer flag

this is her Sleep, I love her Sleep...
...but I could make it more cozy, and I'm going to
my headcanon for the sims (all of them) is that their all neurodiverse and their worlds are just cool realms they can choose to live in instead of the neurotypical one, and because of this: she hasn't slept in anything other than this hoodie since she was 15 (she is 50)

Which one of us??? Inworld or outerworld?? :0 We ran into this at random fwiw.
Anyways, a progression of events and time:
There wasn't an option for just. Like. A single pony or bun, but we hate our hair being super long so we wear it in a bun, a lot, since we can't get haircuts more than once a year generally.
Anywaysss, we don't remember our hair being that pale when we were in middle school/late elementary school, but we found this old photo and — ugh, we guess it was that light. We weren't a whole lot happier then compared to now but we also did not realize that we were going to be abused by a stepmother back then and tried our best to ignore/forget seclusion room stuff. We pretty much fought unfairness every turn here up to and including our teachers' ableism even if we didn't have the words back then, so we got sooo much shit then. We had two main fronters at that point, we have discussed that quite often and do not wish to do that here. Although if you look closely at the eyes we've always been a little dead inside until like, university sksk.
Second picture is vaguely how we remember being in highschool/late middle school, because at that point we had decided to ourselves we would get out of [REDACTED] and we were putting all of our energy into that, you know, and we were still fighting people constantly. We had AP lang/lit and several honors classes but by this point we were starting to realize we had self-inflicted and other-inflicted math trauma because we were supposed to be good at everything (we still are damnit, fuck you if you think we aren't...they taught us in the wrong environment and now we can't win in ANY WAY AT ALL because we either "aren't a mather" or we "learn later than everyone else" so we will just...end this here before we throw ourselves into another flashback, yay) so there's a lot to unpack there. We also started questioning if we are an endogenic system** back then as well as if we are genderfluid back then, even if we didn't have words for both of those, so looking back on it the dysphoria was hitting really hard with the long hair especially. We had hints of this in middle school but as escape from [REDACTED] got closer and closer it just kept hitting worse and worse lol. Some cashier at the clothes store noted we "looked cuter," with our baseball cap backwards here we think, when we had our hair cut into a bob once and we'd asked what looked better, forwards or backwards. This just so happened to correlate with what made us happier, so we don't think this is a coincidence. We were also doing a lot of pro-neurodiversity work even if we had no clue that's what it was back then. We would wear winter coats up until the summer in a school made of limestone with no air conditioning and not have any clue why we didn't want to take it off and a friend's implicit challenge of "you're going to die of a heat stroke," essentially gave us a reason to do it. We're here so, obviously, we did not die of a heat stroke.
Universityyyyy!!! The mother always offered to cut our hair just before we came back to school during breakssss, so we ALWAYS got a super cool haircut (that we would have to get cut again the next break 😭). We don't have very much to say about this one. We finally discovered the words to what we were looking for (endogenic system, queer), lots of euphoria especially around the first term endogenic. Still wearing a lot of coats and hoodies but less of that later on as we worked towards our double BA. :)
Ooo lookie, it's NOW. We're v. happy but still struggle quite a lot. Uhhh we wear our hair in buns a lot still but wish we could cut our hair short. We actually wanna go out and do it today but like we would have to wash our hair and get our of our pj's and that's...not gonna happen lolsob. Maybe in an hour or so but if not we can't/won't. We actually kind of like ourselves enough to wear t-shirts now but we hate tight-fitting clothes for autism reasons on top of gender reasons. We wish we weren't mistaken as a girl so much to be honest because we're nonbinary at least — sooo many xenogenders for different individuals in our system, some of us are even literal men. We would love to like, have our bewbs* and not change anything at all so when people call us ma'am we can go "Man? What's up? You said man right not ma'am?" and that's probably the reason everyone who is actually good in our body's family agrees we are the most likely to be stabbed or arrested in public one day. We've always just been annoyingly transgressive in the most contradictory way possible, which is and probably always will be weaponized respectability/politeness. We do not do respectability politics and so we turn it on its head constantly and have definitely pissed off multiple transphobes with it. XD
*This picrew only seems to have one body type, unless we missed something. We have always had bewbs.
** For those confused: we do not agree with every single thing on endogenichub.weebly.com but it's a good place to start. If you've met one system you've met one, that includes endos like us.
Picrew challange: yourself as a kid vs now
[Please do not trauma dump on the post this time thank you]

Nothing like midnight realizations -_-
the reason one of my brain's autopilot defaults, when I don't have one of my comfort hoodies on, is the constant search for pockets in front of me when I don't have them, is because it's basically the T-Rex arm stim except neurotypicals don't think it looks weird.
So that's a thing!
Marry Christmas I guess. G'night.
#(not saying this as in everyone who puts their hands in their hoodie pockets is doing that stim#I'm saying that's what it's been for me all this time)#anyway I'm not sure if that's a run-on sentence or not because my dumb dyslexic brain hates sentences like that until they get commas#so basically I added the commas and then I was fine so I don't know but I'm warning for it all the same#neurodivergent#neurodivergence#actually neurodiverse#tw neurodivergent masking#(technically. it's implied.)#(masking as in hiding neurodivergence not wearing a mask)#run on sentence warning#does this count as a#Kat dropped her filter#?#I guess so?

here’s a zine I made for class back in september about a fun fantasy reimagining of the stressful process of navigating the public transit system in toronto as a neurodivergent person.
[image ID: nine image of a digitally illustrated zine in grayscale. the first image is a photo of the physical zine on a white background, and the rest are digital images of each page of the zine.
the cover shows a character named stickers, who is a person with wavy shoulder length hair in a hoodie with a backpack and a full face costume mask, looking at a subway map poster with the title text "a neurodivergent guide to the TTC.” their backpack has the the artist (hee-blee-art)’s former name on it, and there is graffiti on the wall around the map.
page 1: a collection of everyday items like hand lotion and earbuds, items common to many neurodiverse and disabled people like stim toys and medication, as well as stranger items like a giant sword, with the text "be prepared. bring along essential travel items."
page 2: a weird map of a travel route, including points labelled "portal to the subway," "transfer to bus," and "part where bus becomes alive and gets confused."
page 3: a scene on the subway where stickers, who is now shown wearing ear defender headphones and with an anthropomorphized plush cat sticking out of their backpack, has climbed up onto the horizontal hold bars, unnoticed by all other masked passengers other than one surprised child, with the text "follow signage and social distance."
page 4: a scene of an escalator in a subway station. stickers is in the middle of the escalator surrounded by various humanoid creatures, including an angel, a rat person, and a centaur, with the text "respect your fellow riders & they will do the same for you."
page 5: a scene of stickers sitting on a seat attached to a parachute that is tethered by a rope to a bus and is being pulled behind it with the text "sit as far back on the bus as possible."
page 6: a scene of stickers stimming with their hands and crouching down on the sidewalk to listen to a pigeon creature with four legs who is explaining something to them, with the text "and if you get lost, ask for directions."
back cover: a drawing of stickers and their cat at a bus stop standing next to a person in long skirt and a hijab holding the leash of a three-headed dog wearing a service animal vest. below them a text box reads “[asterisk], this zine is meant to be humourous and entertaining. for info on the TTC, see posted signage, pamphlets, or visit WWW.TTC.CA. end ID]

Coffee and ADHD do not mix, actually
by from-saturn-to-mars on ao3
Tony lives purely off coffee, Peter hyperfixates on spiders, and they eat Oreos at a Very Late Hour Of The Night while having a semi-serious discussion about ADHD
Tony Stark does not always make good life choices.
He considers this as he downs his fifth cup of coffee in the last hour and double checks the equation on yet another project. In his defense, he just came up with a new plan for solar-powered generators.
Tony pauses, checks the time, notices the date, and then revises his previous statement.
In his defense, he came up with a plan for a solar-powered generator seventy two hours ago and hasn’t looked up from his work since.
He’s helping people! Yup, that's a solid argument, he thinks to himself as he sways on his feet and almost pours oil into his coffee cup. He reaches for the coffee pot, but it’s empty.
“Friday, dearest, could you refill the coffee?” He requests without pausing in his work. He could have sworn he just had something in his hand. Where was it..?
“I'm afraid you're out, sir. There’s more in the kitchen.”
Tony finds the thing that was in his hands. Its buried under a pile of paper he hasn’t touched in weeks
Tony weighs his options, looks at the empty coffee pot, and trudges out of the lab with a sigh of defeat. The halls are eerily quiet compared to the whirring and humming of machines in his lab. The sudden shift from blinding lights to cool darkness sends black spots dancing in front of his eyes.
Tony pads into the kitchen and zeroes in on the coffee sitting on the counter. He feels like a lion hunting in one of those nature documentaries and has the wild urge to narrate in a British accent.
“M’sr Stark?”
Tony spins around, almost loses his balance, and looks wildly around the room for the source of the voice. His eyes land on a small, hoodie-clad figure seated on the kitchen counter.
“Peter?”
The boy gives a little wave in response and continues to stare at him.
“Why are you awake?” Tony asks in a high-pitched voice.
Peter gestures to the towering stack of textbooks next to him with a slightly manic look in his eyes,“I’m researching spiders! Did you know spider's blood is called hemolymph? And spiders have an open circulatory system!”
“And… How long have you been researching spiders, exactly?”
Peter thinks for a minute and pulls out his phone. He stares at the cracked screen for a solid thirty seconds and then looks back at Tony with a vaguely horrified look on his face.
“...Six hours?”
Tony facepalms, “Jesus, kid,”
“Says the man who's been holed up in his lab for three days,” Peter shoots back with a smug smirk. Tony distantly wonders when Peter stopped idolizing him and started being such a little shit.
“I was working, it's not my fault,” Tony pouts and pours himself another cup of coffee.
Peter heaves a huge sigh and shuts his textbook, “I like science! And spiders! It's not my fault I hyperfixated,” He says with a small yawn, “ADHD is annoying,”
Tony squints at him.
“What?”
“What's ‘hyperfixation’?” He asks the boy. His brain feels like it's underwater. He takes a sip of his coffee.
Peter looks slightly surprised, “It’s where your brain fixates on something and kind of takes over your mind, I guess? Like its all you can think about. I hyperfixate on science a lot and, right now, spiders. My brain kinda just zeroed in on that one topic and then I couldn't think about anything else, and then I looked up and six hours had passed.”
Tony processes this, “Huh….” He looks back on the days and weeks he’s spent in his lab, completely engrossed in his work. He then reviews the last three days in his head. Was that hyperfixating? Maybe he shouldn't be thinking about this right now. If he remembers correctly, the sleep-deprivation hallucinations start right about now, so he could very well be hallucinating the spider-child sitting on his counter.
“It’s pretty common among people with ADHD and other neurodiverse people,” Peter informs him.
“Where did you learn all of this?”
Peter shrugs, “I just did some research, once I got diagnosed with ADHD.”
Tony considers. He’s never been diagnosed with anything – Howard and Maria were not the ‘therapy’ type, and he never really saw the need for it, but maybe he should do some research….He loses his train of thought and takes another draw from his coffee.
“Dude, at this point your blood is like ninety percent caffeine,” Peter remarks. He hops down from the counter and opens the cupboard, surveying the contents with narrowed eyes. Tony peers over his shoulder, only now registering that he also hasn't eaten in a while. He half-remembers someone bringing him a cold pizza roughly two days ago. He hasn't eaten since. Peter grabs a pack of Oreos and pulls out a handful, stuffing them into his mouth all at once.
“So, what are some other ADHD things?” Tony asks him. He carefully pries one half of the cookie off and chews it slowly.
Peter swallows his mouthful of Oreo, “Well ADHD is short for Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. That basically means you have a short attention span and you're hyper active, but there's a lot more to it than that, and it's different for everyone. I use fidget spinners for hyperactivity and for stimming,” He elaborates at Tony’s confused look, “Stimming is doing repetitive things to stimulate your mind, like flapping your hands or rocking back and forth or things like that,”
Hmm. That sounds familiar. Howard always used to tell him off for running around in circles in the kitchen. He remembers doing it over and over, unable to stop. He never had a problem with it, and he had forgotten about it until now, but Howard always yelled at him for not ‘acting normal’.
Tony stuffs an Oreo in his mouth and chews thoughtfully. After a long silence, he says, “Cool”
He prides himself on his eloquent vocabulary.
Peter nods and shifts himself into a laying-down position, so hs looking at Tony upside down. Tony has no idea how the child hasn't choked on his Oreos yet.
“Do you think you have ADHD too?” Peter asks him around a mouthful of frosting. He's taken out all the insides and is left with a pile of chocolate cookies.
‘Barbaric…’ Tony mutters, but he answers Peter’s question seriously, “Maybe? I'll have to do some more research, but i wouldn't rule it out– What are you doing?” He cuts himself off.
Peter freezes, about to dump the chocolate cookes into the trash, “They’re too dry, i just like the frosting part,”
Tony stares at him in black shock for a minute.
“Okay, we can fix this.” He pulls out two Mason jars and gestures for the cookies while he pulls a few intact ones out of the wrapping.
“Get milk,” He orders.
Peter regards him skeptically but retrieves the milk as ordered. Tony shows him how to crumble up the Oreos with a spoon and mix the milk in.
The look on Peter’s face when he takes a bite is absolutely priceless.
“This is so good,” He marvels. Tony nods in satisfaction. Once Peter finishes ating, he taps him on the nose with his spoon.
“It’s time for spider-kids to go to bed now. You have to eat a real meal in the morning, too. Not just hot cheetos and lemonade like yesterday.”
Peter grins at him, hops off the counter, and racs down the hall.
Tony goes to sleep.
