Since Rankin Bass made 20 Christmas specials, you'd think they'd all suffer from the Hallmark movie effect and they'd all be boring and the same. But the movies themselves are actually a delight because each one throws in a wild idea you'd never think of. Like, "hey, what if there was an evil Anti-Santa who had a sleigh pulled by snakes instead of reindeer" and you as the audience get to witness it

As a little kid, I was always a bit confused/disappointed by Christmas stockings.

Like, they were shaped like feet... but they don’t fit your feet at all?!

And believe me, I always tried. Lil’ buggers just didn’t stay on.

So, I could easily imagine 5-year-old me...

...watchin’ this scene, where Nestor was given two of them...

...and bein’ like “OH”
