If SkyNani were to have a romance series, what plot would you want them to have?

ooh tbh i'm not sure about any specific plots (i'm not very creative lol), but I'd love to see something realistic and angsty since they do it so well 🤌🤌 give me all the yearning and stolen looks and slow burn, their chemistry's so good, all they have to do is look at each other and i'll go insane 😭

(that being said, skynani have great comedic timing together so i'd eat up something more lighthearted as well)

what i really loved about high school frenemy was how it gave time and space for saintshin's relationship to grow in a way that we don't rlly see in a lot of bls, so i would love for a sknn romantic series to be similar in that regard 💖

and if it were gmmtv, i would pay money for it to be directed by p'aof 🙏🙏

thinking a lot about how in a watsonian pov Lucas's motivations make a lot of sense and I support the character but in a doylist way his s3 arc has always rubbed me the wrong way bc i feel that the motivations of fictional black men almost always revolve around the concept of popularity and what is Cool and Masculine

and like yes white fictional characters often also interact with those concepts but like. they are also given other plots and I feel like young black men usually aren't. like black teen boys are always written as either jocks obsessed with what's cool or nerds who are obsessed with what's cool. like its disturbing how often fiction is set up to imply that a black person whose entire identity doesn't revolve around the acceptance of others must be miserable.

there is almost no presence of a gleeful black nerd in any medium. which is odd to me because I feel like, in the years before Marvel and Halo made being a nerd "cool", it was my black friends who introduced me to most of the nerdy shit in my life. Like, I probably never would have gotten into anime at all if not for a guy on the bus letting me read his copies of Yu Yu Hakusho. Most of the video games I play are because they are genres I used to play with a girl who I only became best friends with bc we were the only two girls who were into anime in our class. we got into dnd together.

and like it could be argued that Lucas feeling pressured to turn to sports is only because of this stereotype, but I don't think acknowledging the stereotype within the narrative actually makes it different from all the others.

I think that part of what like. kills me about the whole media literacy and critical thinking aspect of enjoying media these days is that people refuse to like. contextualize that

A. Bad media can still hold significant meaning to people

B. Media made for a demographic you aren’t apart of is not inherently bad media

C. Media made for and consumed by the opposite demographic is not inherently shallow or flawed nor is it above criticism for its media tropes either.

As someone who always has to wear glasses and physically cannot function without them; who has spent an incredible amount of money on buying and re-buying them as my prescription keeps growing; who keeps getting told I look "better" without a tool that literally helps me see; who can't wear lenses for long because my eyes are too dry and sensitive; who gets headaches and dizzy spells whenever I have them off for too long; who feels incredibly vulnerable and exposed in any situation I have to have them off (common ones are showering, haircuts, and sex); who will have to undergo expensive surgery one day or stay like this and hope my prescription doesn't grow into cataracts the way it did with my father; and who grew up seeing character upon character that is nerdy and shy and awkward at best, and outright ugly at worst, with their glasses on, only to immediately become super hot and sexy as soon as they take them off (bonus points if they don't even bother to provide a character with an alternative like surgery or lenses (which, what???))...

I really don't fucking understand why we have such an issue acknowledging that this is, in fact, a disability.

Or like...

Extra character who somehow ended up dating popular: I mean... before we started dating we didn't even see each other often, what needs to change??

Even like...

Friend of the popular: As your friend I need to tell you , dating her/him will only ruin your reputation.

Popular: Considering that even the teachers don't know her/his name even after years, I doubt anyone would actually be interested.

And then X girl in love with the popular tries to find something to blackmail their partner with but... there's just nothing? They're like... the most ordinary people in the world without many social stains to exploit.

X: I can't expose something as stupid as eating play dough in kindergarten! I'm the one who would look stupid!

And yes, the popular couple is just ordinary, having an ordinary relationship, a whole dramatic plot tries to happen around them and they're like: Yeah well, I'm certainly not interested in that. And they keep avoiding the problems by simply not doing anything.

in hindsight this is crazy but when i was like 10 i really shipped sky and flora. something abt their 20 second interaction in s5 (which was literally about sky and bloom's relationship problems lmfao) really struck a chord with me i guess. some ppl wrote a couple surprisingly high quality fanfic (x, x, x) for that pairing tho like i'm glad i wasn't the only person in the entire universe that had that thought.

tbh I currently have no plan to make something story driven stuff like comic or writings about them, so make they visually cool and experiment stuff is my priority!!

the current main story line I have about them is they use to be close when they were young but for some reason Vul (the older one with hawk) have to leave and were force to cut contact with his family and he is basically the only person in Morr life aside from their Mom, Morr is not dealing with this event very well so, looking forward of how unhinge he going to cope with it

meanwhile Vul live his slutty life away from home working as a king guard for his uncle and pseudo medical doctor/Herbalist(definitely not witchcraft) in his free time in the south

I build their character lore mostly inspired by some characters in Arthuriana (kinda obvious but idk ppl notice) especially some lore of Welsh version but in my version basically it's 100% fantasy and all the event has noting to do with source material at all (even though I still recommend anyone who interesting in reading arthurian or mythology to try Mabinogion, it's...interesting text and not so difficult for moderns reader)
