Hello :) I think I may have ADHD (I show just about every single symptom) and was wondering if you had any phone game recommendations? Something that's simple/mindless or cute? Have a great day ♡
Oo!!! Okay okay hmm i like geometry dash, color switch, temple run (2), subway surfers, and basically all the other games I'd put on screen if a kid asked for my phone LMAO
They're pretty simple bc theyre just tappin and swiping and have enough motion to keep me stimulated!!
Also if u want a cute game but not necessarily one that does not require patience, neko atsume is adorable!!!
All the games are free :)!!

Cat games I have on my phone that Penelope Garcia has too: a review by quill
1. Neko Atsume
The classic. I used to have almost all of the items and stuff on my old ipad but i just restarted from on my new phone and it’s fun whenever i see a new one. also you should see all the pictures i take of them. 12/10 the cats look like i could mold them out of clay.
2. Kelptocats
lowkey think theses cats wanna kill you but that’s okay. i used to play every day and managed to collect all the cats when the game was still new. now there are more rooms and more cats to find and that’s nice. 10/10 would be 14/10 but the cats might kill you and i would like to live.
3. Cats are cute
cats are cute and in this game they walk around town like they own the place. that’s great i love it when cats are householders. each cat has their own lil building and with every cat you get your town grows!!! what fun :) 11/10 lets hope these cats have a good mortgage rate.
4. Adorable Home
dude this came is great. i have an adorable home that’s filled with plants and cats and it’s the best. you do have to share the house with some guy (or girl but i chose guy) though. he’s also my husband apparently and i have to make him lunch when he goes to work. 10/10 at least that dude leaves for work and i can spend time with the cats.
5. Tsuki
technically not a cat game because tsuki is a rabbit but he is a cool rabbit just living out his countryside dreams. what a king. also like he can go on vacation!!! i bought him a ticket to the hot springs and the city and it was a lot of fun. 11/10 he’s just living the life i want to live.

I was tagged by both @carpe-libris and @greenangelheart, thanks to you both!
I’ve been in a very weird headspace lately, which isn’t surprising, but I like, am very ambivalent about commenting or posting. Like . . . I don’t know. So, I’m responding! I’m posting, wow. (Actual wow, not sarcastic wow.)
LAST SONG: Much to Steph’s dismay, it’s Bastille. I’ve been listening to Doom Days a lot lately, and I think the last song I finished was Another Place. I also recently watched their documentary on Amazon Prime, and all the scenes of concerts made me tear up. :/
LAST MOVIE: In the theater? Knives Out. Will that be the last ever movie I watch in a theater? If so, I guess it was a good one to go out on. We rented Wonder Woman 2 around Christmas, which had a good first hour, decent 80′s and and DC vibes, but was mostly hot garbage.
CURRENTLY READING: Okay, NOW we’re in my wheelhouse. I’m doing an audiobook re-read of A Fashionable Indulgence by KJ Charles, and realizing how tough this series is. Great, but a LOT goes on. I am HOTLY anticipating KJ Charles latest release, The Gentle Art of Fortune Hunting, which drops Wednesday, as well as Best Laid Plans by Roan Parrish, which should be delivered to my Kindle in like . . . 20 minutes. I’ve been taking my sweet time meandering through Samantha Irby’s Wow No Thank You, and have three volumes of Our Dreams at Dusk waiting for me at the library. Mainly, I’m reading all the things.
CURRENTLY PLAYING: I actually just redownloaded Neko Atsume. Decided it was time to tend to a yard of cute animated cats.
CURRENTLY WATCHING: I got a crunchyroll subscription to watch the given movie (so good!) so I’m rewatching Yuri!!! on Ice again, Mark and I are periodically watching Somebody Feed Phil on Netflix for wanderlust vibes since who knows when we’ll ever be able to travel again. I’ve also been on YouTube a great deal.
CURRENTLY WORKING ON: I opened one of my original story documents today, does that count? It’s been a fallow period, but I did write a couple of paragraphs.
(Honestly, if I was weird about tagging people in the before times, there’s no hope for me now. If you see this and want to play along, feel free and tag me if you’d like!)

DISCORD: whiskey#6583
I work nights so my replies on the dash and in discord are kind of all over the place time-wise
I am irresponsible so here is a 3rd I said I’d never have
LIANA DRAYTON-CRAWFORD
Full Name: Liana Selene Drayton-Crawford
Nickname(s): Lia, Duchess
Birthday: July 5th, 1978 (42)
Hometown: Chanute, Kansas
Education: Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with a minor in Biochemistry from Northeastern University
Occupation: Waitress at Red’s Diner
Faceclaim: Amy Adams
Content Warning(s):
Divorce, Emotional Manipulation/Abuse (Implied), Cheating,
BACKGROUND:
Liana was born & raised in Chanute, Kansas to young parents (18, 19) who had no concept of the amount of work it took to raise a child
She was raised on hard work, thrift shops, and Sunday mass by her maternal grandparents as her parents never stepped up to the plate to try their hand in raising their daughter
Already absent in much of her life, the couple broke up in their mid-20′s and her father moved to Washington state and was not heard from after that point
Her mother never ended up going to college and ended up marrying a lineman and moved away against the wishes of her parents, officially leaving Liana behind with her grandparents
Though her parental situation was different her life with her grandparents was great
They may have been some of the poorest people in the already poor, little midwestern town.. but they were all rich in love which was what mattered the most
The moment that Liana could get a job she did and her first job was working in a local flower shop and then moved to picking up shifts at the diner
All of the money she made went to help her grandparents with bills even though they would protest and downright refuse her offer to help. Liana would often secretly go and pay off some small bills anyway behind their backs to help
Anything extra of Liana’s that could be spared was saved so she could purchase a car. Her first vehicle was a 1985 Ford Escort (9 years old by the time of purchase). Issues with the vehicle were worked on by her grandfather (and sometimes Liana herself) as he used to be a mechanic in the town
Even with juggling working and school Liana managed to post outstanding scores and was named the valedictorian of her class (even though it was a small class it still felt like a great accomplishment with the way her parents had both barely graduated from high school)
She was accepted and granted a scholarship to attend Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts for chemistry
While in Boston, Liana met Alexander “Lex” Crawford who was attending Harvard University in the neighboring Cambridge, Massachusetts for law
The two began dating officially roughly 6 months after meeting
During Liana’s 4th year at Northeastern and Lex’s final year in law school, Liana found out that she was pregnant with Lex’s child (~2 months before graduation)
After graduation Lex proposed to Liana and the two had a fast-tracked wedding late that summer
The two would end up having 3 children in total and remain happily married for over 10 years before issues arose
MARRIAGE & DIVORCE: TW Divorce, Emotional Manipulation/Abuse, Cheating
They welcomed their first child in 2000, a boy, named Theodore “Theo” Crawford
Even though Liana had her degree her dreams of pursuing a career were cut short and she instead became a stay-at-home mother to care for Theo full time (as per the request of her husband and his family)
Five years after the birth of Theo, Liana and Lex had another child in 2005 - this time a girl named Ava Crawford
For the first few years of marriage Lex was fairly sincere and loyal to Liana but was often swept up in the scandals of his own family’s bad behavior
This bad behavior was often praised by other members of his family and he grew to resent Liana for keeping him from enjoying his youth
Liana spent much of her time with the children and trying to be the perfect housewife
In a matter of years she had gone from the only thing in her name being a 1985 Ford Escort to having access to a house in the Hamptons, cars, lake homes, and expensive time shares overseas
She cooked, cleaned, decorated the house for each and every occasion and was always the parent who attended parent-teacher conferences and was also part of the PTA/PTO
Lex started to go behind Liana’s back with other women (most of whom were college interns or assistants for the law firm)
Everyone knew about it but no one would say anything since Liana never brought it up as she preferred to pretend that it wasn’t always the hot gossip amongst the circles she was in
Lex would reel Liana back in by preying on her love for her children, informing her that if they were to divorce he would take the children and she would be left with nothing
He would also often switch between threats against Liana and grand romantic gestures (empty, of course) to keep her attached to him just enough to not leave
She preferred to wear the rose colored glasses as long as she could though eventually they would break
The worst came when Liana would have their third child together, another boy, in 2015 (Benjamin “Bear” Crawford)
From there things escalated quickly between Liana and Lex and they divorced in 2018
Lex would gain full custody of the children at this time by accusations against Liana that she was alienating the children from him
The Crawford reach extended into many of the rich and elite in New England so there was no concern from Lex about keeping custody no matter what Liana did, in fact the custody battle was an attempt to lure her into doing something uncharacteristic then using that against her to ensure that the children would stay with him (though he did it for revenge against her, not because he cared for the children)
Additionally, the Crawford family did not care for Liana that much overall, believing that she was still “some girl from a cornfield in Kansas” and they often called her Dorothy
Liana would battle with Lex in court over custody until the money ran short, additionally she would see how much of a toll the fighting took on the children and knowing she would never be able to beat her then-husband in court she stopped fighting
Lex also took out a restraining order against Liana after their legal proceedings were finished
Even though the children had spent 90% of their lives with their mother, their father’s words (and Black Amex) proved to be much more alluring than staying with the person who had seen them through everything in their lives
By the time the legal battles had settled down, Theo was of-age and went to college. Liana tries to keep in contact with him but he has not been that responsive (reasons not known, suspected influence from his father paying for his schooling)
Lex offered Liana a large share of money during the divorce as well as vehicles and vacation homes all of which she rejected, only taking what was in her name only
PERSONALITY:
Liana is very dedicated and loyal to her friends and family (even if sometimes they don’t deserve it)
Strong work ethic! She never lost this even while being married to someone who would’ve rather just paid for everything to be done rather than do it himself
Very maternal, she tries not to mother everyone but kind of accidentally does it sometimes (she’s working hard on reeling it in)
She’s very sweet, likes to help others when possible
Tries to see people for the best instead of the worst (hence staying with her husband for so long) even if it comes back to bite her in the ass
Can be almost a little too kind, this usually lead to her being used like a door mat but her divorce gave her some strength to push back once things got to be too much
Walking Pinterest board, she’s creative and enjoys her little projects. Often subjecting friends to testing them out with her (whether it’s building something or baking a recipe that looks good)
FAST FACTS:
Liana moved to Tupelo as an attempt to go somewhere where no one would know her
She could not go home as her family there is no longer around and no one could ever track down her father after he moved to Washington
She has deep regrets and embarrassment over not being able to get custody of her children and does not speak of them (as she does not want to explain anything)
Her home is bare of any photographs that would hint that she has children
She will speak of her ex-husband, but only briefly and not mention what he did but instead say that they split due to differing opinions on where they wanted their lives to lead
She still enjoys cooking and decorating as they are some of the few things she finds comforting, she also finds having live flowers in her home
Liana has two pets - a Great Dane named Salem and a brown tabby cat named “Billy the Kitten” based off the character of the same name from the popular mobile app Neko Atsume (both pets were handed over to Liana during the divorce)
Liana now lives in small home with a decent yard, using the remaining money she had to purchase it mostly for the yard for Salem (the inside of the home is lined with carpet runners for the dog and there is not an abundance of furniture that is not necessary as to accommodate Salem’s size)
Liana can be seen walking Salem often or having Salem outside with her while she gardens, Salem can wander freely around the property when Liana is outside - otherwise he is limited to the fence (which he can stick his head over)
She has a Mercedes (which she hates) and can never get it worked on without taking it to a larger city
She kept the Crawford part of her last name as (for whatever reason) it makes her feel closer to her children in some small way
BEST FRIEND FROM COLLEGE TM:  (Taken WC by Ethan Morris, Jake Gyllenhaal FC)
These two met while attending Northeastern and quickly became close friends
Just because they were close didn’t necessarily mean that he always supported or even liked the fact that Liana was dating Lex Crawford
He & Lex shared a mutual distain for one another
Even with this, the two would eventually attend each other’s weddings
Right before he got married he asked Liana to leave Lex and to essentially have a modern-day runaway sequence with him (no points for timing)
Unfortunately, she could not bring herself to divorce her husband at the time
After he got married they began to drift apart
CONNECTIONS:
Friends!
People she mothers on accident
Other dog people (and cat)
Those who benefit/are subjected to taste testing random recipes she finds
Regulars at Red’s
Her kid?? This could be a WC at some point I guess (We out here being flexible on most of that)
She’s not really looking for anything romantic at all - but y’know sometimes it hits you when you least expect
Maybe someone who actually did know her from the east coast (whoops)
Everything!!

Fanfic asks: G E O A U 😁
G. Do you prefer writing one-shots or chaptered fics? - chapters are great because you can do so much stuff! and the satisfaction of posting on a schedule! But also they take so long, i love the instant gratification of oneshots... and they’re easy to reread
E. Have you ever written a crossover? - Yes! I had to check my Ao3 because I couldn’t remember but then I found my absolute masterpiece of 2016, a Supernatural - Neko Atsume crossover XD there’s also like a valentines special mashup of supernatural and ace attorney and haikyuu where I think it was just all my OTPs in my OCs cafe hanging out or something bless
O. Is there any fandom you’ve been into that you haven’t written fic for? Why not? - I was really into Good Omens for a while, but I never wrote for it because 1) I felt like the style of the books was such a huge part of the charm and I couldn’t emulate that and 2) I kind of felt all the fics I’d already read said everything that needed saying but better, I didn’t have anything to add :’)
A. What was the first fandom you wrote for? - Artemis Fowl, on fanfiction.net XD I was obsessed and it was my first intro to fandom. I don’t think I had many but one was an epic about an OC becoming Artemis’s best friend and then a fairy and I vividly remember the last paragraph mentioning when he dies.
U. Do you prefer AUs or canon compliant fics? - I love making up AUs (as literally everyone must have noticed by now) but in general I prefer reading canonverse because it’s really cool getting all the little details and background info people want to add, they can really enrich my mental image of the canonverse!

Me ranting about cat apps on my phone
I have a seperate folder for my apps named "cats cats cats cats"
With 3 cat tycoon games I know by heart:
Cats are cute,
my frickin favorite it's so funny and cute and has secrets that are so ironic, if you put your house, with tiny, the first cat you get, next to the home that's called "the neighbor's" with a cat called fatty you get "dog" as a friend. Which is possibly a cat but it's never barked so your not sure and is friends with cats
Purrfect spirit,
so adorable but not refilling the food bowls makes me feel bad, and anxious, for the cats so I buy stuff very fast and never take time to appreciate it. Its art is so adorable though oml so pastel.
neko atsume
which is the most popular and if your more about checking it every once in a while like real cats is great. So much toys though I love it.
- 2 other cat-ish games but not tycoon
a 2 game series of Maine character who looks like a cat but is actually one of many demon gods which also look like cats very similar to them it's called just kill me but that's not really an accurate title but it has a reason it's a very good story but I like the 3rd 100× better than the first, which is not for impatient people at all. (I looked up the ending) it has a great story and is wildly underrated and uncredited and it has a cat man that's a demon god
... I might have a problem...

ask replies!
it’s been a while since i’ve done one of these!! i'm like a dragon sitting on its hoard except my hoard is a pile of beautiful asks. thank you as always for these messages! you guys are absolute sweethearts and it’s so warm and humbling reading through these when i’m feeling blue.
Tumblr media
on that note, i did make a curiouscat account! i’m so bad at answering tumblr asks - i can never guarantee that they’ll be answered on time, if at all >< if you want a prompt response this will be your best bet!
Tumblr media
1. gosh thank you so much!! i feel like i’m constantly inspired by independent artists these days, but if i had to choose influences that were there from the very beginning, yoshihiko umakoshi and CLAMP are ones that come to mind :>
2. i think i touched on this briefly in my faq! but i’m honestly not sure just bc i don’t know what knowledge i could offer - i’m not too hot at explaining the reasoning behind why i do things... a simple walkthrough of my drawing process is what i’d be comfortable with, most likely! something to think about if i ever opened a patreon 👀 ✨
3. omg you’re totally fine anon! my icon is from a later season of ojamajo doremi, my favorite magical girl anime! actually now that we’re on the subject, i REALLY encourage everybody to read this article about it!!! it talks about what makes doremi so special, the staff behind production - it sums up what i love about the series in a much more eloquent way ♥
4. oh gosh! i don’t think i’m well known enough for that haha~ maybe someday?!
5. AHH ANON YOU MAKE MY HEART SING!!! asking about my ocs omg i’m slain. lana is from a very old story of mine - she was a side character suffering from an illness that kept her bedridden most of her life. iirc her disfiguration was an accident when she was younger.. she got something in her eye that blinded her and she tried to claw it out in a panic. she later gains transformative / regenerative abilities that grant her wish to look “beautiful” but after realizing her powers are temporary, she becomes desperate to keep them no matter the cost...
Tumblr media
she’s ok in the end tho!!
Tumblr media

In your Free pattern: Neko Atsume #2 you write: When you’re finished with your second leg, don’t finish off. It’s time to merge the two legs into one piece that will be the beginning of the main body. Continue from your second leg and chain 5 sc. Continue from your chain and join it to the first leg, and sc around all 7 sc from the first leg... but how do i chain 5sc? Could you help me? Thank you! Your pattern is great!
Hello! It just means to make five chain stitches. Making a chain stitch is a specific type of stitch used in crochet. You can find a tutorial here: https://amigurumi.today/basic-crochet-stitches-tutorial/

I love my mutuals!
I am in a good mood today and felt like showing how grateful I am for my mutuals. If you’re looking for new blogs to follow, try some of these! I’ll add a short description of the blog to try and save you time. I say “a lot” quite a bit in here and while normally I would fix it, I hope you understand that this took awhile so I don’t exactly feel motivated to. If you got tagged in this, you totally don’t have to do anything back! Don’t feel obligated to! I just want to share my friends! Please feel free to let me know if you want to be taken off the list or if something I said offended you, I really just want to share you in the best of light with my followers.  If you want to be my mutual, for whatever reason, just message me something! Send me a post you think I’d like, send me a joke, ask me a question, I don’t care! I love having people to talk to, I just suck at starting conversations.
@nishikinico - Lots of Love Live, anime in general, tons of memes, and commentary on social issues. They make mixes of Love Live songs and all their work is super, check them out! They have a search function on their blog and if you type in “mix” it’ll come up with a lot of cool stuff they’ve made!
@satanstolemyblog - This is one of my IRL buddies. He posts a lot of video game related stuff but also a lot of comedy stuff. He’s a super cool dude. I also live with him so if you like my blog there’s a high chance you’ll like his.
@sasquatch-penetration - I totally forget how or why my and Kieran became mutuals but they post a lot of funny stuff and if I’m in a bad mood and just looking for laughs I tend to go to their blog and just scroll on it endlessly.
@aceserena - Me and Serena played LoL together awhile ago! Lots of gaming, jokes, and some cute stuff too! High quality. 10/10 would duo again. Overall super chill and they’re one of the few mutuals I’ve interacted with.
@artoria-official - Lots of anime, lots of gaming, lots of...are you picking up on the theme of who I follow and who follows me? I’ve only interacted with them once but they were super friendly and helpful! They didn’t make me feel awkward about reaching out despite the lack of any small talk or lead into the conversation so they’re obviously a good person!
@alanshitpostsandgames - Lots and lots of Pokemon! Pokemon being one of my main hobbies pretty much anyone with quality Pokemon posts is worth a follow in my book. They post a lot of silly stuff too. I only recently started to follow them but they’ve put up with me for awhile so clearly they have good taste.
@iamhedwig915 - Another of my IRL friends. They post a lot of comedy stuff and in general are just super nice. I lived with them for over a year and I can’t honestly say anything negative about them. They were just such a sweet person and one of the best roommates.
@so-hufflepunk - This is my girlfriend. Going off of messenger and nothing else, she’s tied for 1st for my most interacted with. She posts a lot of cute funny things and I just love her a lot and most of my sense of humor comes from her. If you want my blog to have cute stuff instead of anime, she’s your girl! She’s actually my girl but she’s your blog! Actually it’s her blog but you should follow her!
@theblackwitchworld - Lots of Madoka and Love Live. Madoka was one of the first animes that I got to sit down and watch with friends. It’s one of the biggest ties I have to one of my best friends. Meanwhile, Love Live is my favorite anime and probably the only anime they I have ever been actively invested in. So when I found a blog with both, it only made sense to follow them! 0 clue why they follow me tho
@suprememeep - We met during a Splatfest in Splatoon! Our group did super well with like 20+ wins. We found each other on Tumblr after that and have followed each other sense! If you were active in the Neko Atsume fandom, they created Glunkus and Hobo! They’re super friendly and I love interacting with them, even if it’s less than I’d like.
@daeronsingollo - I forget how or why we started following each other, but they reply to a lot of my posts and whenever I interact with them it’s super enjoyable! They post a lot of Pokemon, art, and cute things! I love their blog a lot and it’s one of the more aesthetically pleasing blogs I follow.
@theamazingpants - Another IRL person. Me and Pants have been friends since 2010 or 2011. He’s probably one of my closest friends and I really care about him. He posts a lot of anime and gaming, surprise. He’s one of those people that you could never see yourself befriending nowadays, but because of the history, it just keeps working. <3
@flailmorpho - Me and Flail met on the Anivia tag! We both mained Anivia for a long time, it being our main common interest. Lots of comedy, gaming, and commentary. Super nice overall and I highly recommend them if you’re looking for someone chill to follow.
@luccario8 - I think me and Luccario also met over on the Anivia tag. They post a lot of gaming stuff as well as comedy. Interactions with them are always super pleasant and I can’t do anything but praise them. Check them out!
@dustyshark - Another comedy blog I follow! They post a lot of happy stuff and only top quality jokes. I super love their blog and steal a lot of the jokes they reblog. They have amazing content and if you want more humor in your life I recommend heading over there.
@hornlessquipster - IRL friend and my gf’s roommate for 2 years now. They are LITERALLY the nicest person I know. They have offered me a place to stay when times were tough, they are always sticking their neck out for others, they are involved in so much stuff I literally do not know how they continue to function. They are super great and I love them.
@nitrogennightmare - I follow a lot more IRL people than I thought. This is one of my best friends. They post a lot of comedy, music, and aesthetic stuff.  We vent to each other a lot, but because we both stink at staying in touch with people, mainly me, we’ve lost touch recently. They are super laid back and I love them
@captaincrunchmakesmebleed - Anime and Comedy. This is one of the blogs I’ve followed and loved for a long time. I made them fanart once! They just came back from being dead for awhile. I really looked up to their blog for a long time and reblog a lot of stuff from them. Easily one of my favorite blogs on this hellsite.
@spooksbot - I LOVE SPOOKS! While we don’t interact a lot I love following them, all of our interests are pretty much the same, and they are in general a super nice person. Their blog is a lot of fun and the interact with people a lot via open reply posts. They are a super cool person. We played Overwatch once together but the time difference is killer :/ HIGH RECOMMEND
@killer-x-queen - A super funny blog! We interacted a lot back in the day and they were always so kind and nice. They had a post that was like “send me your best pickup lines” and I just kept sending them the shittiest puns I could think of. I was having a lot of fun with them. They are a great person <3
@zioketski - Lots of humor and Pokemon! At this point none of you should be surprised as to why I follow people. This is one of the mutuals I have where we don’t interact but like and reblog each others things! Their blog is quality.
@cecilia-hatake - We’re getting far down my list now, into the realm of people I’ve been following for like...4+ years now. They post a lot of anime and I know I’ve interacted with them in the past. They have a lot of quality posts but their blog has been dead for a year :(
@bottaw - An IRL friend again! Will is one of the closest friends I made at college and is one of the most, if not the most, caring individual I know. He has a lot of video games and gem things on his blog. Will may not be one my longest friends...but he is one of the oldest ;P
@zanaea - Alright this motherfucker right here. Where the fuck do I start. We have been friends since 2009. Easily in my top 5 friends, probably 1st tbh. Joe and I have been through some shit and have been there for each other every single time. They have a lot of Pokemon, Video Game, Anime, Comedy, aesthetic, they have it all. I love this kid. I would give my money, the shirt off my back, my first born, and my life to keep them safe. They may not be perfect, but I’ll be damned if someone tries to say they don’t give it their all.
@thepunkin-king - Matt is one of my oldest friends, like, over 15 years now. We met in elementary school, I wanna say 1st grade so 2001. His blog is dead but this kid was one of the best friends I have ever had. I don’t even know how to explain his blog since I haven’t visited it since I followed him back in like 2012/2013, but he is a cool dude. We keep in touch on FB, but barely.

hey all! 💞
So I’m in a bind life-wise, as I have no job, no car to get to a potential job, no money to buy a car because I’m unemployed... you know, the Shit Cycle. I also am struggling with finding a stable place to live, and all of these things piled on top of my already bad mental state is just making everything worse. Until I can get secure enough in my housing and transportation to actually hold another job, I need money for a car, rent, and school, so I figured I’d offer what little talents I have up for y’all! Donations are great, but I have lots of free time so I figured it’d be cool to sell some stuff.
✨ blog formatting - including tweaking / redoing themes, assigning color palettes, designing bios and about pages (here’s some examples from my personal blogs - I can work with a theme! Soft, jarring, whatever aesthetic you’re lookin for!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
✨ tarot card readings - these will be done in conference with whoever wants to buy them, I have a full 78-card deck and can do multiple spreads, including the simple and Celtic cross spreads. These will come with an analysis of your cards and inferences!
✨ essay writing - I have an A.S. with a focus in literature, and I’m capable of writing college-level (or high school, if needed) works including research papers, literary/art analyses, historical essays, etc. Here’s an example of a historical one I wrote: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1YdSpf0F6WhYtNaUTS-u8vm9-chk-uxk7kIiveHY-yA8/edit?usp=sharing
✨ pixel art - cute lil pixelated pictures you can use as icons, sidebars, or just to keep in the depths of your computer. Here’s one Neko Atsume one I did for a present:
Tumblr media
You can message me for pricing on these things, but loosely it’ll be something like this:
blog formatting: $5+
tarot reading: $2+ (depends on spread u want)
essay writing: $15 - $50+, depending on subject, length, research needed, etc.
pixel art: $5+
of course all these are very loose numbers and actual prices will depend on what ur actually wanting from me, so if you’re interested please shoot me an ask or a message! I will also most definitely accept donations, though I don’t want anyone to feel an obligation to do that. Preferred payment would be through the money sending/receiving feature on Facebook messenger as it’s very secure and has no fees, but I also have PayPal. If you want something done and can’t pay in either of those ways, just message and we’ll figure it out. Also if you have ideas for anything you’d like that doesn’t really fall under these criteria, go ahead and message me to talk about it because I could try anything. Thank you for reading and I hope I can make/do some cool stuff for some people! :~)
💞💞 Reblogs are very appreciated 💞💞

might get better...if I have time before I have to quit art
So it's time to confess.  I'm kind of bummed by how AX2019 artist alley turned out.
 Sure, I didn't get into the red, I was able to have a good time, and nothing traumatic happened.  But I was really disappointed in my sales.  They defied YEARS of trends!  And I thought I was finally going to be able to justify this artist life of mine...But now it seems to be reaffirming my growing hunch to quit.  ;_;
Though granted, last year set a pretty high bar.  Those sales were awesome, and primarily driven by my Wayfinders and having finally made an excessive amount of Wayfinder stock. For years, I've depended primarily on my Wayfinder fan-crafts for sales.  Every year, they sell-out...except for last year when I miraculously managed to make 21 Wayfinders stock and actually have leftovers after the con.  O.O  But this year, AX2019, I think I only sold 2 Wayfinders.  2 out of 15.  ;_;  I thought that if I just keep making more of them or finally make enough to meet customer demand, then I could finally dictate a reasonable amount of sales.  Maybe enough to justify making a living as an artist.  I really needed more income in my life, and I thought that if I just kept making more Wayfinders in excessive stocks, then I could get more financial security. And AX2018 seemed to prove that.  So I studied my past sales trends, predicted how much stock I would need, and virtually met those goals.  But this year, they not only didn't get sold-out, but they were BARELY selling.
Maybe it was my lack of marketing.  Last year I went in hard with posting to my art studio blog.  I posted progress, almost daily, and constantly reminded people what I was making.  But I found out a little while after AX2018 that someone found one of my Wayfinders too fragile and they were very dissatisfied.  I was so ashamed that I ran away from my art studio blog from then on.  I stopped trying to make that type of Wayfinder.  I stopped posting daily progress about my other projects.  I couldn't just replace their item or repair it through the mail because I don't have a mailing system or online shop set up.  And now I was even more reluctant to try any onlie interactions or store.  Maybe if people were better reminded that I was going to be in AX2019 artist alley, where I was, or what I was offering, I could have gotten more sales.
Suddenly being in ailse G didn't help either.  For the past 2 years, I had been in ailse K.  I don't know why.  I don't know why I was suddenly in ailse G for AX2019 either.  Maybe I was later than usual in filling my Artist Alley Form?  Probably.  But I got one passing customer's comment being surprised to find me in ailse G.  Maybe they had become accustomed to looking for me in K?  Maybe they just assumed I wasn't at AX2019, when they didn't see me in K?  I wouldn't put it past the customer base.  I remember memorizing booths' placements in San Diego Comic Con.  And I've had customers prove that attendees have a very askewed memory of time when it comes to what's in artist alley.  Maybe my table location change was too much for them.  (I mean, I may personally go up and down the aisles, systematically checking every table's stock for that one artist who I don't even know if they're here---and I found her too! Under a DIFFERENT name!---but not everyone is as obsessive as me.  First rule of design is to accomodate human tendency to go for what's easy.  And considering how overwhelming an anime convention is, I can't blame anyone.  In fact, I willing and welcome to assist through that.)
My AX2019 Wayfinders were barely selling, especially in proportion to how much time I wasted to make them.  ;_;  I wasted so much time making those Wayfinders, that I've honestly long-since lost a lot of excitement over.  There are so many other things I want to make instead.
So it's fortunate that this year, I impusively sacrificed a lot of my Wayfinder time in exchange for several new projects.  ^.^  And 4 of those projects either sold-out or sold-out a large portion of stock:  Joker-Kirby figurine charms, Smash Bros invitations, pompom Wooloo charms.  Sure, no one bought any Ryuji (birthday) charms, and the Persona 5 x Neko Atsume bookmarkers barely sold, regardless of how much time and love I had for both of those also-impulsive, last-minute projects.  But still, the Smash invitations, Wooloos, and Joker-Kirby figurines were VERY well received.  ^-^  And I loved watching people squee over them---Actually, I found that these demographics don't really "squee".  The Wayfinder fangirls "squee"'ed.  The Smash Bros and Pokemon fans are more like "Duuuude!  Look at that!  Oh man!".  LOL  Still great enthusiasm.  ^___^
And they were less physically and mentally harrowing to make than Wayfinders.  For years now, I had gotten sick of Wayfinder-making eating up ALL my time, only to come out with one completed item per day---or every TWO DAYS. It was DEVASTATING to screw up a sculpt or blend and need even more hours to fix---that I couldn't really get paid for because no one wants to pay more than $70 (except for the Sora Wayfinders, but those had proven too delicate to make more of without a new packaging strategy that I haven't figured out how to source economically yet).  Additionally, there's all the physical strain to make those Skinner Blends.  I'm no longer that 20-something who did 39 push-ups every day and swordswings and ballet exercises and had such full-body athleticism that I was visibly fit!  My arms get TIRED now.  x_x;  Plus the frustration with how bad I am at Skinner Blends...It takes me at least 2 hours to make them.  Meanwhile, YouTube crafters are doing them in 12 minutes.  x___x;;;;;  I can make excuses about how they're not making slabs as thick as mine, or their clay must be better/expensive brands, or they're using motorized pasta machines and I couldn't even properly clean mine before it broke. I was in a constant battle of perfecting a blend or a sculpt, and always being disappointed in myself for not being faster or getting too tired to work for 7 more hours. ;_;  And even more, I was sad that Wayfinders left me so exhausted that I didn't have the time to make anything new.  I was tired of Wayfinders.  They still looked pretty enough for me to take pride in and I had perfected my process enough by now to bolster my confidence.  But I wanted to make more things, damnit!
I had been waiting for years, for someone else in Anime Expo artist alley to give me competition in Wayfinders, so I could have an excuse to focus on other things.  So I wouldn't feel obligated anymore to be the only provider.  Yes, I depended on Wayfinders for the bulk of my sales, but that was the reason why I wished for competition to give me an excuse to branch away from them.  But now that even my Wayfinder sales are waning, maybe this is excuse enough.
The good sales on my new products actually made me feel better about working on new projects and making less Wayfindersfrom now on.  And people really liked my new, crazy, weird ideas! ;U;  They really liked them!  ;u;  And what's more, they liked my figurine sculptures.  I feel really encouraged now to make more figurines, more 3-dimensional characters in clay.  Every year I make all these charms from abstract symbols, representing characters.  And _I_ feel very good about them, but they never sell.  Whether it's my Joker mask charms or Ryuji ZOMG/Skull mask charms, or any other past ideas I've had.  I was so excited for fans of those characters, like me, to also have such things...Only to find that no one cared.  No one cares about representatives of their favorite characters.  This year I finally learned that people want their actual favorite characters.  ...Well, I had known that for a while, but I had no confidence in my character sculptures.  That's why I stuck to just sculpting symbols representing favorite characters.  It was subtle, and I thought some people would go for more abstract badges of fandom.  The symbolic items just don't sell, and I think it's time for me to branch out into actually sculpting characters. I was always afraid because I'm terrible with human anatomy, but sculpting Kirby proved that I don't have to stay away from character sculpting just because of that.  And maybe I can work on my human sculpting and actually make competent human character figurines for my next artist alley.  *o*  AX2019 proved they care about my figurine sculptures!  *O*!  And my Super Smash Bros invitations!  And my pompom Wooloos!  ;U;
Actually, the good sales on these less physically strenuous projects like the Smash invitation and the pompom Wooloo, reminded me:  my paopu fruit plushies and pompom Moogles also sell well.  Every year, I have to stock up as much as I can, because those are reliable sellers.  I just don't have to think about them as much as my Wayfinders because they don't become these complex, harrowing projects, eating all my time for so little.  Maybe I should make more simple projects.  I should stop making items that take 7 hours or 2 days to complete just 1 project.  I should focus more on the little $10 thing that don't take more than 3 hours to make...Because people actually buy those more!  o_O  Maybe it's just the $30 cut-off price point or maybe it's because even short projects like those are cute enough to sell...  But I should focus more on that, if they've already proven effective for sales.  In addition to being better for my physical and mental health.

Yes, video games are art, but are they artistic?
This is another essay I wrote - I don’t do this super often, but I was feeling particularly inspired on this topic tonight, so here it is.
A question I often see asked, usually by someone with an obvious bias or conflict of interest, is this: Are video games art?  These days, the prevailing attitude towards that idea seems to be that they are, although that could easily just seem to be the prevailing attitude from my perspective because most people I  know have a generally favorable attitude towards video games.  At least from where I'm sitting, it seems like a tired, silly question - I imagine a college freshman pointedly answering "VIDEO GAMES!" when his Introduction to Art teacher asks about different mediums of art, and then being slightly disappointed when that professor doesn't try to argue with him about it.  Of course, there are different definitions of what 'art' is and isn't, so I'll start by defining my own terms.  To me, personally, there is no threshold of quality in art.  In other words, anything made by anybody can be art, whether that person has a talented bone in their body or not - macaroni glued to construction paper by kindergartners is art, and Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel ceiling frescoes are art.  By my definition, then, of course video games are art - they have design and controls, they have images designed by visual artists, and they have music composed by musicians.  Any and all video games are art - it didn't just happen when presenters at E3 started trying to target the Self-Important College Freshmen demographic.  So Asteroids is art, Custer's Revenge is art, those battery-operated Game And Watch handhelds are art, and Flappy Bird, Neko Atsume, and Pokemon Go are art.  Some of those are art in the same way that Tijuana Bibles or 'Spot the Difference' games in the funny papers are art, but by my definition, they're still art.  In my mind, at least, that much is simple.
Where this discussion gets instantly a thousand times more complicated is whether they are artistic.  This is what I think many people mean when they have conversations about whether video games are art - the implied question is not 'Is this something humans made to express themselves', but 'What is the value of this expression?' and, underneath that, 'Can we say it is as valuable as, for example, books, film, or visual art?' And THAT is a hairy, complicated question with a lot of different arguments to unpack and address.
I think, to take the previous thought just a little further, many people really want to discuss whether video games can teach us something about the human condition the way that literature or some movies or television can.  This is what makes it a fun debate for people, because when video games were first invented and popularized, that answer was almost universally a resounding 'No'.  At their inception, video games largely served the societal purpose of relieving children and older nerds of their pocket change - Jumpman's plight to rescue Paulina from Donkey Kong had no metaphor, allegory, or social/political commentary.  Everything about its premise, down to Jumpan's mustache and large nose, was the direct result of working within the limitations of primitive hardware.  As video games moved into the home market, they were still primarily targeted towards children (and nerds), with mostly bright, colorful mascots and cartoony aesthetics.  So while they still met my (admittedly generous) standards for the definition of 'art' listed above, they did not pretend to probe the depths of the human soul.  I imagine that changed sometime in the decade that saw the advent of text-heavy role playing games and the transition from two dimensions to three within the game space. In Search Of Lost Time these games were not, however - the closest analogue I could provide would be a Saturday morning cartoon show with action figure marketing tie-ins.  It's only been in the last ten years or so that it seems like some people have really started to push that particular envelope, and, in my eyes, a lot of these efforts are pretentious or heavy-handed.  I'm sure somewhere, someone has written a Thinkpiece on how those games with ~serious moral choices~ (see: Bioshock's decidedly unsubtle 'Will you rescue this innocent child or harvest their organs?') are advancing the artistic merit of the medium, and I hate that thinkpiece.  Attempts to be more subtle with these ideas have certainly surfaced since the whole 'Would you kindly...?' thing, and some of those have, admittedly, presented much more interesting questions for debate.  Much of these more interesting ideas in the 'commentary on the human condition' wheelhouse of video game design comes from indie developers who are setting out specifically to make us ask those questions. Just to name a few, Papers, Please puts us in the role of a government official in a bureaucratic dystopia and encodes its morality-based commentary in the actual gameplay;  Undertale takes Bioshock's simple 'this or that' morality and flips it 180 degrees to be about how we consume video games.  In fact, many of these games ask us what we can learn about ourselves based on the choices we make when we play video games, which makes for fun conversations but, in my mind, they lose a lot of their academic merit as soon as you try to apply those lessons to just about any other scenario.  As much as I loved and bought into Undertale's unique take on video game morality, it has almost no real-world application.  Outside of these examples, the bigger, more mainstream games have certainly become more cinematic, or, to perhaps narrow it down a bit, more like blockbuster films.  Naughty Dog's Uncharted series has all of the genre hallmarks, snarky witticisms, and epic symphonic soundtracks of Marvel's Cinematic Universe, while their critically-acclaimed The Last Of Us puts us in approximately the same head space as AMC's The Walking Dead television adaptation.  It's work that engages us mentally, in other words - we don't simply sit and absorb it, because it isn't so much statements as questions.  Something that engages us, though, isn’t necessarily high art just for that fact.  The works that are the most discussed and revered among narrative-driven mediums frequently have stories that affect many people on a deep, personal level, perhaps even altering their world view.  To contextualize it, I’d put the artistic merit of most video game storylines/premises/scenarios somewhere in the middle of the scale that ranges from Antonio Banderas's performance as the Nasonex bee to Brian Cranston's performance as Walter White on the scale of 'what does this teach me about myself' - they're fun to think about and talk about, but I'm not expecting many academic texts on the intricate socio-political subtexts of Mass Effect 2.
That's my admittedly complicated answer to the question of whether video game storylines/scenarios can pose powerful existential questions - you might unsatisfyingly condense it down to 'sometimes, I guess'.  I think even the most artistic video games have a hard time truly transcending the threshold of 'high art' because, at some point in almost any game with a serious message to it, that message is encoded in the game's very gameplay, even if it's not as obvious as 'X to save, Y to harvest'.  It is a message that you cannot complete the game without at least hearing, even if you aren't thinking about it as hard as perhaps those game developers wanted you to.
This is my caveat to all of this, though - I don't think all art has to ask us deep, probing questions about humanity, society, politics, or history.  Even high art does not need to ask us that.  When people frame the debate of The Artistic Merit of Video Games, they often use literature, film, or television as a reference point, all of which are art forms that almost universally present a narrative, the presentation of which provides a message of some kind.  It seems, on a surface level, that these mediums are the most relevant comparisons to video games, because a very sizeable chunk of video games also present a narrative, and maybe even a message.  To imply that something must have a narrative to it in order to qualify as art, though, is to discount work like J. S. Bach's keyboard music or the paintings of Piet Mondrian from a discussion of what is and isn't art.  Obviously, then, that definition is not a functioning definition of art.  Even film and books are not solely artistic because of their narrative or because of their underlying message.  Many of cinemas great auteurs are considered great not solely because of the stories they told, but because of their innovation with finding new ways to tell those stories through the use of cameras, lenses, lights, sets, props, and actors.  Alfred Hitchcock told compelling thriller stories, but he also once presented an entire movie in what appeared to be a single unbroken shot.  William Faulkner presented the history of a troubled Louisiana family by telling it through the eyes of a mentally-handicapped character with no concept of the passage of time.  These are not just compelling stories, but compelling stories that could not have been told to us any other way.  In the 'uniqueness of presentation' discussion, video games certainly have a strong horse.  I am surely not the first, second, or hundredth person to point out that video games are special because we must actively participate in them.  More so than a stage drama with audience participation or a music performance where the crowd claps and sings along, video games cannot and will not engage us without our input.  They even prevent us from experiencing them if we aren't skilled enough, a subject that has come more into debate in recent years with the rise in popularity of extremely challenging games like Dark Souls.  In that (admittedly somewhat extreme) circumstance, we must learn the language, dynamics, and flow of the game in order to experience it.  Any person can listen to Liszt or Chopin and enjoy themselves without understanding the complex music theory that went into the composition of their music, and anyone can watch Mulholland Drive without grasping its experiments with narrative structure, but to play a video game requires a base level of comprehension.  Where the bar of that comprehension is set and the ways the video game works to impress that comprehension upon us is an artistic choice on the part of its creator.  I've heard it said that people learn best by teaching themselves, and that great teachers excel because they identify well the methods their students learn by, and are better equipped by that to provide the students with the tools they need to teach themselves.  Video games are a potent example of this principle - there are some excellent YouTube videos of people breaking down the ways in which video games allow us to teach ourselves how to interact with them.  It's through careful attention to this instruction that even punishingly difficult games like Dark Souls can be enjoyed by a large community of fans - I would contrast it with games whose difficulty is based purely in muscle memory or in trial and error.
To delve into this a little further, a commonly discussed element of game design that is hard to put exactly into words is called the feel.  My best definition I can give is how well the game gives the player the impression that they are in direct control of their avatar on the screen - a game with good feel can be as effortless to play as it is to move one's own body, and a game with bad feel can completely ruin the immersion, like bad acting or an out-of-tune musician.  To me, game feel is another of the more important facets by which a game's artistic value can be judged.  Video games are, like I said, unique for their symbiotic relationship with their audience/consumer, and the games that do the best job of immersing their audience do it by feeling the most natural.  I think perhaps the ur-example of this connection is with that omnipresent man, Super Mario (who I mentioned above in his previous identity as Jumpman).  As his original moniker implies, Mario is a guy who jumps, and he jumps in many different ways (exponentially more since his transition to 3D).  This concept is so simple it can be reduced to two words. It works so powerfully and connects to so many people, though, for two reasons: first, that it feels very natural and responsive to do, and second, that it can be done however the individual consumer wants to do it.  Mario can jump everywhere all the time, or only as often as he needs to.  He can do a regular jump, or a long jump, or a backflip, or kick off of walls.  Game Maker's Toolkit's Mark Brown describes this as 'player expression' - I don't know whether he came up with that term or if it was someone else, but it perfectly illustrates that element of video gaming.  The ability to bring such a versatile array of experiences from so simple an action demonstrates the technique of video game design that is there just as surely as there is film technique, writing technique, or music technique.  Regardless of the message of what is on the screen, we can tell a well-shot film from a poorly-shot one, even if we don't necessarily know the terminology to explain to someone else what the difference is between the two.  We can also instantly tell the difference between trying to control Mario and trying to control Superman in Superman 64.  While it might seem strange out of context to say that, in this sense, Mario games are an example of an exceedingly technical, artistic accomplishment in video games, that is absolutely a point I will stand by, much the same as Dark Souls or Half-Life 2.
There are other common points of comparison between video games and other mediums in the debate about artistic merit, but I think what my general argument is boils down simply to the fact that video games can do the most for us artistically when they do for us what nothing else can. I think using interactivity in an artistic medium to push the boundaries of narrative is one powerful way that artists can do that, but the very most basic idea of what a video game is - a world you can interact with - presents the widest possibility for artistic expression, narrative be damned.  Almost all of the truest artists in video games - whether they are Shigeru Miyamoto creating games that any preschooler or retiree can pick up and play, or whether they're Hideo Kojima crafting an experience that demands a comprehensive understanding of a detailed game world - exceed at what they do not because they ask themselves how they can tell a great story.   They exceed at it because they ask themselves what can be done in a video game, and the artistic merit of the medium grows and expands best with the exploration of new ideas.  Like blockbuster film franchises and copycat musicians, there's certainly money to be made and entertainment to be had from presenting another angle on something familiar and comfortable, and like those mediums, innovation isn't always world-changing or popular.  Any form of art succeeds by connecting in some way with its audience, and it's so exciting to think about the ways we still haven't yet discovered to connect with art - when a good book or film truly engages us, it's nothing short of a revelation, and to me, the surest sign of artistic merit in video games is that I can feel that revelation from them, too.

Heyhey, so what are some of your favorite dating sims? I've only played Mystic Messenger and I don't know any others that measure up to it.
Oohhh I’ll be happy to share what I play! I don’t play any that aren’t free, so that’s probably good news, but that also means there are probably a lot of quality ones I’m missing out on.
It’s worth noting that Mystic Messenger is my all-time favorite, though. I don’t know if any of these will truly measure up to it, mostly because MM is just so unique in its concept as well as the depth of characters and story. I think we are truly blessed to have access to MM’s level of quality for free. (thank u cheritz for my life)
Anyways! I’ll list these from my most favorite to least favorite (however, I do like all of them to some degree because I regularly play all of them). Under the cut because I talk too much :’D
Midnight Cinderella
This one was my top favorite before Mystic Messenger came along! The premise is that in the country of Wysteria, if the ruling monarch(s) grow to a certain age and there is no heir, a “princess elect” is chosen from the common people. Of course, your character is chosen, despite not being interested in the position at first. Also of course, the princess is expected to find a “prince consort” along the way. (I’m kind of a sucker for a “commoner thrust into the world of the rich” story, myself. >v>)
Each character has a distinct personality and each route has a significantly different story. The main character has a decent amount of development, as well! It’s also very well-translated, and the art is lovely. I’ve played through every character’s route at least once and have just started going back for round two for everyone – each character has two different endings that are each good in their own way, rather than the standard good and bad endings. Louis is my favorite, by far. i’ve played his route four times no joke ha The app is regularly updated with fun side-story events, and they’re also coming out with after-story routes for all the characters!
Guard Me, Sherlock!
…listen. The stuff you start reading/watching/playing as a joke are always the ones you end up loving the most, right.
I thought this one was going to be utterly ridiculous and horrendously out of character. I WAS WRONG. Pretty sure it’s based a lot on BBC Sherlock, because the personalities of the characters are spot-on. Sherlock is just as rude and insufferable and weird as he should be. The most ridiculous part about the whole thing is just the aging-down of all the characters to be young and hot and anime, pffft. Each character’s route is centered around a case, which is pretty fun.
So far I’ve just played Watson’s route, and am about halfway through Sherlock’s. I feel like I haven’t played enough routes yet to pick a definite favorite character yet, but both routes have successfully given me the doki-dokis, haha. There are four routes out so far (Sherlock, Watson, Moriarty, and Mycroft), and three of them have a “season 2″ sequel to their routes. So lots of content!
The Niflheim
This one’s fun because it has a pretty unique concept (it’s the land of the dead; essentially the afterlife, though apparently some people come back as zombies, mummies, and other types of undead, while others just look like normal people? It’s never really explained lol), and the art is really gorgeous! It’s also just a bit silly in general; definitely doesn’t take itself too seriously. The characters have a surprising amount of depth, though. Unfortunately, I think the developers have pretty much abandoned it, though. You can still play it, but there aren’t anymore events and I don’t think they’re coming out with anymore characters/routes.
If nothing else convinces you, you can romance a skeleton. ;D
Wizardess Heart
This was my first dating sim I ever played! At first glance it looks like a wannabe Harry Potter knock-off. And it is… to a mild extent. They’ve managed to put their own spin on things to keep it comfortably out of the “painfully blatant” zone, so that’s what matters in my book. Anyways, the gist is you’re a new student at a wizard academy. There’s a thing called the “Buddy system” (lol) where two students’ fates are connected, and they’re supposed to help each other succeed at the school. So of course it’s just used as a plot excuse for you to be connected to whoever’s route you’re doing.
I’ve played seven routes (currently on my eighth) out of twelve, and they’ve promised at least three more characters in the future, which honestly shocked me because that’s a ton. The guys are grouped by threes and are called “series”, where their plots, while all different, all deal with the same antagonist/threat/mystery. My favorite character is Klaus… compare him to Louis from above, Gill from Harvest Moon, and Jumin Han and you’ll see why lmao
Modern Cinderella
This one’s so far down on the list only because I literally started playing it a couple days ago. I think it’ll get way higher up once I’m more familiar with it, and if this first route I’m playing doesn’t disappoint! The story for this one is self-described as a “reverse Cinderella”, where the main character is rich and has led a lavish lifestyle until she runs away from her overbearing and controlling mother to start a completely new life. I think that’s pretty interesting itself, but what I really like is that the main character ends up with a different profession based on the route chosen. With the three routes that are out right now, the career options are singer, patissier, and writer. At least two more routes are promised (I’m hoping there’ll be even more).
I wasn’t too sure about the art style at first – the main character starts out with a really ugly dress and makeup, but they make a point of changing her clothes and essentially going “that’s much better” after the prologue. The guy that helps out the main character by giving her a place to stay is explicitly gay and doesn’t seem to feed into any bad stereotypes, so that’s a cool side note! So far my overall impression is that it’s cute.
Lost Alice
An Alice in Wonderland one, yeah. >_> However, it has a somewhat unique twist on the story? Some of the mystery was revealed in the Hatter’s route, but that’s the only one I’ve played so far and I feel there’s more to discover about… the lore, for lack of a better term? If more stuff is revealed then I might get a little more invested, otherwise I’ll probably be a bit miffed, because as it stands I have a lot of unanswered questions about what’s going on.
The art style is nice, and there are currently five routes out with a sixth (and probably more) on the way. Most of the characters are directly out of the original story (Hatter, Cheshire Cat, March Hare), but others are harder to recognize (there’s a dude named Joker who I’m still not entirely sure is supposed to be…?). Haven’t played enough to pinpoint a favorite character yet, but the Hatter was cute.
Oz
My general attitude towards this one is “LMAO”. XD
Wizard of Oz. The premise is that Dorothy comes back to the land of Oz for her seventeenth birthday! And suddenly the scarecrow, tin man, and lion are human (that’s right, they acknowledge that they weren’t human to begin with)! And in this version, there were never any witches – they’re all hot romanceable wizards! including the wizard of the west because of course hgkrhsgnks Every single character’s name is a pun based off who they are! And then, the real kicker is that as soon as Dorothy arrives, she’s told she has to pick a boyfriend out of them all. Because reasons. And she just goes along with it.
So, uh, yeah, the story’s flimsy. And it doesn’t get much better in any of the routes lol… I’ve done three routes and am almost done with the fourth. I play it because it’s funny and… it has a few good moments bahaha. my favorite is heartmann Also worth noting that this one’s dead, like Niflheim is. They stopped having events and updates after they came out with all the characters.
Honorable mention: Notice Me, Senpai!
I don’t really consider this one a true dating sim, but it’s definitely meant for people who like dating sims! This app is one of my favorites ever omg, it’s so great honestly. It’s literally Neko Atsume… except instead of entertaining and collecting cats in your yard, you, the only girl at an all-boys school, run a cafe for personified anime boy tropes!
Instead of just leaving you a gift after a number of visits, each senpai has an affection level and you get CGs as they fall in love with you. At three hearts they leave a personal note, then at four and/or five hearts you get a CG where they confess to you. Then you can get additional CGs for each of their birthdays as well as for visiting a certain number of times after they’ve gotten five hearts. You can dress them up in tons of different outfits, and there are events for all the major holidays and seasons. Now I think they’ve settled into an event and new senpais every other month (so they’ll be coming out with stuff in May). Right now there are 34 senpais and I fear that the devs are going to burn out by releasing more, but hey if they think they can do it I won’t complain hgdgfsgvfsvgg
tl;dr it fulfills my lifelong fantasy of being the protagonist of a reverse harm anime and i love it so much
